Luzifer Travemünde in Lübeck

Betrieb ist geschlossen. Steht etwas von Winterpause und das im Juni bei 38 grd. Alles leergeräumt.

Wir sind extra hin gefahren wie sonst auch. Es steht am Fenster WINTERPAUSE. Auf der Webseite steht nichts dazu. Es scheint dauerhaft geschlossen....suuuuuper! Als Stammkunde sind wir enttäuscht und meiden somit auch andere Niederlassungen 😞

War immer wieder schön, der Blick auf das Wasser und die großen Fährschiffe in Travemünde. Im Januar 2026 mal gleich zwei Großfähren beim Eingelaufen beobachtet. Frühstück war bis 11 Uhr leider kein Buffet mehr und obere Etage ohne Gäste. Hoffe diese Location bleibt erhalten? Wird wohl nichts, leider. Eine offizielle Info wäre schon schön.

Ich habe ein Jägerschnitzel gehabt, total lecker und eine große Portion. Der Preis war auch vollkommen in Ordnung. Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich. Gerne wieder!

Waren dort zum Mittagessenmit 5 Personen. Der Kellner sagte sie haben nur noch 1 Woche auf deshalb gab es nur noch 6 Gerichte. Das Essen gut und reichlich, würde aber gerne nochmal hingehen wenn er Urlaub vorbei ist.

Wir waren am 29.12.25 mit 6 Freunde im Luzifer. Die Gaststätte hat uns nicht gefallen. Man fühlte sich ein bisschen wie auf einer Baustelle. Außerdem hat es auf den Toiletten sehr schlecht gerochen. Das Essen und der Service waren OK.

Leckeres Essen und sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Wir waren am 26.12. zum Weihnachts-Brunch und sind diesmal sehr enttäuscht gewesen. Das Buffet war diesmal sehr klein gehalten und das Fleisch sehr trocken. Schade, denn eigentlich war es immer super. Begründung war... Personalmangel, aber dann kann man auch keine 37€ pro Person verlangen. Wir werden dort nicht mehr hin.

Wir waren mit der Familie am zweiten Weihnachtstag zum Brunch und wir wurden sehr enttäuscht. Es gab zum warmen Essen, nur zwei Schöpfkellen zum auffüllen. Man musste immer warten bis einer beim anderen Essen die Kelle abgelegt hat. Trotz Info an das Personal, das Löffel fehlen, wurde keine Löffel nachgelegt. Das ganze kalte Buffet war sehr mager. An den Speisen war keine Schilderung, welches Essen bzw welches Fleisch es ist. Ganz frech hat Luzifer, Pro Person 37,-€ für das Essen genommen. Wir sind die anderen Jahre immer, an einem Weihnachtstag dort zum brunchen gewesen, aber dieses Jahr war es sehr schlecht und dazu auch noch sehr teuer. Wir werden leider nicht wiederkommen.

Wir waren zum Frühstück und sehr enttäuscht. Brötchen aufgebacken und nicht frisch, Aufschnitt aus der Packung, sehr lange Wartezeiten wegen Personalmangel. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

The restaurant is quite old and, in my opinion, in need of renovation. Service and drinks were okay.

Super friendly service, willing to make the customer happy. Big menu, came for schnitzel and flounder and were very pleased. Portions big but doable. Good drinks, spacious place with upstairs for events. Views of the harbor while you dine. Clean place, senior friendly

Unfortunately, there is currently very little staff. Due to the staff shortage, we were unable to be served and were asked to leave the restaurant. It's a real shame, as we specifically traveled to Travemünde to watch the ships passing by from the Lucifer restaurant. What a pity...

Everything was delicious, nice service, great location

We've been coming here for many years and we've never had anything bad to say. The food is always delicious and affordable, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. We happily come back every year :)

We ate there for both dinner and breakfast. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food is very good, and the selection is good too. The location overlooking the Trave River is fantastic. The rooms look nice, but in some places, the signs of age are quite noticeable. The exposed wiring detracts somewhat from the otherwise good impression. Nevertheless, it's recommendable. Update for 2025: The food is still good, but the service staff has apparently changed, and the opening hours have also changed. Dinner at 7:30 pm was just about acceptable. It's understandable that people are tired after a workday. As a customer, I've had more positive experiences at other restaurants in Travemünde and would probably not go to Luzifer again in the evening.

A restaurant I would highly recommend; not only was the food excellent, but the service was also very friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.

We were there about two months ago and wanted to go back on November 3rd. On the phone, they told me they were closed on November 3rd and that I could book for the following day, but I couldn't make it that day. So we reserved a table at Marlene's for November 3rd. After breakfast, we stopped by Lucifer's just for fun, and lo and behold: it was open! 😡

Everything was perfect as always!!! Simply a must-see in Travemünde!

There may be nicer restaurants (some of the seat covers could use replacing), but the friendly service and delicious food more than make up for it. We were able to choose our seats, so the comment about the seat covers is meant kindly.

My schnitzel was like takeaway food. It smells like a deep fryer in there. If you stay longer, you'll smell like a deep fryer all day. The salad looked like it had been vomited through. No, for the life of me, I would have liked to give it a better rating, but this was the worst.

A very service-oriented restaurant! The online reservation went smoothly. We got the seat we wanted by the window, and breakfast for 6 was on the table in a reasonable amount of time. Follow-up orders and small special requests were fulfilled quickly and in a friendly manner. We particularly enjoyed the crab scrambled eggs, the freshly squeezed orange juice, and the homemade jam. The melon on the plate was probably served too early; it was a bit dry, but everything else was fresh. It was a bit noticeable that they were understaffed, but the friendly service really did their best to ensure that this wasn't noticed negatively. And that's unfortunately rare these days. We'll be back! Update from October 2025: Our call to make a reservation wasn't answered, so we went there on a whim. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed that there weren't many guests. They immediately explained why: They close at 8:30 p.m., but our food was "still available." The order, the preparation time, and the quality of the food were all OK, but we couldn't shake the feeling that we had to hurry.

We ordered Kaiserschmarrn (smothered pancakes) and plaice with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the fish was bland and sticky. The Kaiserschmarrn, on the other hand, had a tough, flat crust instead of a fluffy texture. The conditions, however, made a great effort to compensate for this.

Delicious dishes, varied, friendly staff.

The location by the harbor is great, especially if you can sit outside and enjoy a cold drink in one of the beach chairs, for example. The food is solid, and the portions are decent. However, 16 to 56 cents for a half-liter is definitely on the higher end of the price scale. The service was friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a seat even though only a third of the space was occupied. The service was rude and very superficial. I wouldn't recommend it.

I had a salad with feta cheese, olives, and hot peppers. It came with a topping of various seeds. The menu advertised it as toasted with sesame oil and thyme. It was a standard (old) mix poured into a bowl. The olives and hot peppers were dry. The feta cheese was delicious. Very disappointing

You could work on the terrace, but it was there for eating, not painting. The fish platter was absolutely amazing. I was very satisfied. I like it. Thumbs up.

The food was very good and plentiful. The location in the harbor is ideal, a lovely place to linger. Unfortunately, the waitress was relatively unmotivated. There were no drinks available because she preferred to be on her phone. I asked the bartender for the restroom, but she unfortunately couldn't answer me. Conclusion: Good food and location, poor service.

Delicious food but the prices are a bit expensive.

Our visit was more than disappointing. The food was okay. The ambiance and service deserved a zero. Our server (a bald man) was extremely unfriendly. He made some very inappropriate "jokes" and didn't answer any questions. The man shouted our order across the restaurant toward the kitchen and bar. We didn't see him for 15 minutes afterward. A nice lady brought us our drinks. Shortly afterward, the man yelled at the young lady, asking her what she was doing at "his" table. Unacceptable behavior on his part. We'll never be back!

Not recommended. The bruschetta was the worst we've ever had anywhere; it was basically baguette slices with raw onions, absolutely inedible. I had a schnitzel with a cream sauce that was clearly made with powder. The fried potatoes were far too oily, and the schnitzel tasted of butter. My husband had the steak pan, which was apparently okay. Service was attentive, but an accusing look because we didn't finish everything made it inedible. For that money, go somewhere else.

Delicious breakfast with good coffee

We ran out of food at 8 p.m. on a Friday night during Travemünde Week, right in the middle of the German summer holidays. Find the mistake!

Disappointing food - a beautiful view alone isn't enough. The grilled turkey with homemade hash browns and stir-fried vegetables sounded promising, but was disappointing. The vegetables on the hash brown were drizzled with far too much soy sauce, making them completely soggy. For me, hash browns should be crispy. The turkey tasted okay, but dry. The service was friendly, but difficult to understand. They didn't even ask if everything was okay. The seat by the window with a view of the water and the passing ships was nice. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough - I won't be visiting the restaurant again.

The ambiance, with a view of the Trave estuary, is simply wonderful. The breakfast we had was sufficient and good. With the included flat rate for coffee and tea (see below), we felt the price-performance ratio was very good... if it weren't for the service, which seemed to try with all its might to keep us away from ordering more hot drinks. (We also wanted to order non-included drinks, but that was hardly possible either.) At times, there were just as many staff (5 people at the bar) in the restaurant as there were guests, but that didn't improve the service either. If you don't simply ask if you'd like anything else, or at least glance at the guests when they're already raising their arms in annoyance, then you're not making any sales, and it's reflected in your tips.... If the service improves, we'd be happy to come back, but unfortunately, we felt unwanted...

Beautiful view of the harbor, delicious food, good pancakes, and vegetarian dishes; more vegan options would be nice. Attentive service, everything was great.

Hello, we went there the Sunday before last at 5 p.m. The service left a lot to be desired. The food was okay, but the waiters weren't particularly friendly. We didn't feel comfortable. There's still a lot of room for improvement.

Unfortunately not, the food was not that tasty, but the waiter was helpful and friendly. The location of the restaurant is great and you can make more of it.

Three months ago, we reserved a place for 15 people for brunch for a birthday party. The lady said it would be no problem and we'd be happy to do it. Today, with all the guests there, we were rudely informed that they didn't serve brunch at all, and that had been clear when we made the reservation, even though I emphasized brunch several times. Strangely, they don't offer it at all during the summer months, the lady said today. It's still advertised online as normal, though. We could only order a la carte today. But that wasn't my request, otherwise we wouldn't have had to drive to Travemünde with all the guests. Finally, they accused me of having reserved brunch, with extremely unfriendly staff. Luckily, we found a very nice other location that wasn't as arrogant and still welcomes guests. But after the recent reviews here, nothing surprises me anymore.

Good food with a great harbor view

We went there for a delicious breakfast. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the place was dog-friendly. They brought us a water bowl for the dogs. We'd love to come back on our next vacation.

Pleasant ambiance with a high ceiling that absorbs the noise level when there are many guests. Beautifully set tables. Very friendly service. From fried eggs and scrambled eggs to bacon and Nuremberg sausages and a charcuterie and cheese platter, everything was very decoratively presented and tasted very good. For those with a sweet tooth, there was jam, honey, and various baked goods. Highly recommended

I had the worst meal in a long time. The fish was tasteless, the wedges were from a packet and boring, and the mustard sauce was over-seasoned. I won't be back. The ambiance, right by the sea, is very nice. The service was also good.

There were 11 of us at brunch, and it was disappointing. They served a lot of turkey. The only side dishes were potato gratin and rice. There wasn't even a soup on offer. The quality and taste of the main courses was poor, and they didn't look good either. The desserts, sausage, cheese, etc., were left unrefrigerated in the stuffy room. And I've never seen red fruit compote without vanilla sauce. We were all disappointed!

Great location in Travemünde, delicious food, great salads and friendly service, the view of the Trave is priceless, unfortunately there are a few steps and it's very narrow, you have to be able to use a wheelchair to get to your seat, we'd be happy to go back 🤗

Our reservation was forgotten. We had made it seven days in advance. If I travel several hundred kilometers and request a table with a view of the harbor, that's what I'd like, not the uncovered little table out back in the dark. No problem, just walk along the harbor past the fish stalls, and you'll come to a new bakery where you can have a great breakfast.

Top delicious food whether breakfast or any other meal...chapou...must in Travemünde

The restaurant is located a bit off the beaten track at the end of the promenade, but it's worth the trip. From every seat, you have a beautiful view of the harbor entrance.

The meat was clearly not good enough for a steakhouse. Very light and tough. The potatoes, unfortunately, weren't great either. A shame.

If the opening hours on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 are given as 9:00 a.m., then surely it should be open at 9:30 a.m.!!!!

Absolutely fantastic location, right on the harbor, with the ferries passing by so close you can touch them. But: The food is now very poorly prepared. I'm very sorry about that. Great potential, but it's not being utilized.

We were there for brunch, and it was a solid 6. The food was lukewarm; there were no signs indicating where we were. When the warming trays were empty, it took forever to refill them. The rolls were hard on the bone, and the food didn't taste good. We'll never be back.

I highly recommend the brunch at Luzifer. The food selection was good and delicious. The only drawback is the tight parking situation.

Ich war heute zum Brunch im Luzifer und sehr zufrieden. Die Essensauswahl war reichhaltig und lecker. Das Restaurant war nicht zu voĺ, der Service war gut. Der Ausblick auf den Hafen verschönert den Aufenthalt. Der einzige Minuspunkt war die Parkplatzsituation, insbesondere für Menschen mit Behinderung.

Contrary to my previous opinion (à la carte food), I was thoroughly shocked by today's €27.50 lunch brunch. Aside from the almost tasteless cafeteria food, dry meat, and the lack of professional service at the hot buffet, the service was poor. Unmotivated waiters and rude responses to legitimate complaints are a thing of the past when you can't even wipe coffee pots. One of the few friendly waiters informed us that there's a staff shortage in the kitchen. That's understandable, but no reason to deliver such a treat. Better to leave it alone. A shame.

5 stars – Delicious breakfast with a sea view! We recently had breakfast at Luzifer and were thrilled! The selection was diverse – from fresh rolls and cheese and cold cuts to scrambled eggs, fruit, and yogurt, they had everything. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Add to that the great atmosphere and – depending on the location – the sea view: simply a perfect start to the day. I'll definitely be back!

The location is really nice and the service is great. You shouldn't expect so much from the food. The hash browns are not homemade and the pork fillets are very well done. The pasta casserole is gratinated with sliced ​​cheese. Unfortunately the price does not meet expectations.

This restaurant can't be beaten for impudence. When we politely asked for a table, we were insulted and turned away. The waiter should look for another job, he is completely unsuitable for the catering industry. It's crazy how this restaurant scares away customers

Nice cafe with an outdoor terrace. We were here for breakfast and had a drink on the terrace another day.

You actually sit right on the water and can watch the boats while you enjoy the fantastic food. And that in any weather. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the service is attentive without being intrusive and the food is beyond reproach. Whether it's breakfast or a "real" meal - there's something to suit every taste here. We stumbled across the restaurant by chance and always enjoy coming back.

Lunch buffet only with advance reservation

Fried potatoes as tough as shoe soles. Fish okay, portion size too. Giving the service one star is actually a disgrace. Being ignored in a half-empty restaurant for over 15 minutes before ordering and after eating is a tough thing. Waving and shouting is ignored (by 3 different waitresses), only when you get up are you rushed to the table, only to be taciturnly bid farewell. Toilets and chairs are past their best, some of them are dirty - it feels like they haven't been cleaned for 2 weeks. We definitely won't be coming back and can't recommend it to anyone.

Good, tasty food from a not-too-large menu. The portions are plentiful and the prices are local. The service is extremely friendly, attentive and fast. The location - and therefore the view of the harbor water - is superb, and definitely one of the reasons why you can eat here.

The labskaus was kind of powdery. 🤔 However, two companions were very pleased with their meals. Simply great view. February 25. Pleasantly not crowded. 👌🏻

The one with fried potatoes was really good and worth four stars 🌟. Unfortunately not the pasta. The pasta was clearly beyond cooking. The service staff seemed overwhelmed with the three occupied tables. The starter didn't come as ordered "Bruchetta Coast" because the ham was missing and shrimp was ordered as a topping for the pasta and that was also missing. Unfortunately, the error wasn't even recognized at first. The ambience is modern and simple.

The kale stew tastes watery and the white cabbage salad is not dressed like it was last time. Unfortunately totally disappointed 😞 My companion had eaten field potatoes with turkey meat and then had diarrhea.

Seit einigen Jahren kommen meine Frau und ich immer wieder aus Hamburg nach Travemünde. Ebenso lange kommen wir für Kaffee und Kuchen ins Luzifer. Es ist wie ein Ritual: Parkplatz suchen, nahe Maritim, Promenade entlang zum Luzifer, dort je 1 Becher Kaffee und ein Stück "Blechkuchen". Mehrfach haben wir den Kuchen reklamiert, weil er trocken und alt war. So auch dieses Mal, allerdings haben wir nicht reklamiert, es erschien uns auch aussichtslos. Die Kaffeelöffel und die Kuchengabeln waren derart verbogen, dass man sie kaum richtig nutzen konnte. Den Service darauf angesprochen bekamen wir zur Antwort: das sind die Gäste, die das verbiegen! Unerhört!!! Alles in allem: 2 flache Stücke Kuchen (je etwa 6x10 cm), 2 Becker Kaffee - alles in allem 15,60 EUR. Als wir den trockenen und harten Kuchen reklamierten, erhielten wir die Antwort: der liegt auch schon länger! Das war´s dann auch - dieses Mal war es der letzte Besuch des Luzifers! Was uns auch besonders gestört hat war das laute "Geschnatter" der Service-Kräfte, von fehlenden/defekten Leuchtmitteln an den Decke mal abgesehen!

Unfortunately, Christmas brunch wasn't good. The price isn't what's on the internet either! Not again!!

No matter whether outside or inside, it fits. The service is nice, the view of the boats is free. I definitely recommend the Labskaus dish. In terms of taste, it is the best thing I have ever eaten.

I can only rate the breakfast as I've never been there for lunch. Buffet is nice and varied. The normal breakfast there is somewhat ok, but not particularly good. Bread dry, already curling, coffee bitter and the waitress (male) visibly annoyed. Too bad! The location is great.

Today at 2 p.m. under a clear blue sky we wanted to order cocoa with a shot from the unfriendly service with an Eastern European accent and drink it outside in the sun. There are a lot of tables and chairs in front of the restaurant. She told me that wasn't possible because it closed at 3:00 p.m. (according to the homepage at 4:00 p.m.). Then I said, it's still an hour away. In an unfriendly tone, she said they didn't have enough staff either. I don't need any staff because I can carry our drinks outside from the counter myself. No, that wouldn't work because other guests would also want to have a drink outside. She also doesn't want to discuss things further. If I were the owner, I would be happy if many guests wanted to buy something and take it outside themselves. Maybe someone in charge will read this and question the lady's behavior. Today was at least the last time I visited this restaurant forever. We then went to Fisch&Meer at the back (street “front row”). There was friendly service and a sunny outdoor space.

Regardless of whether it is summer or winter, it is always very pleasant to be here, outside in a beach chair or inside when it is cold. Just enjoy and look at the harbor as the dolphins swim or ferries arrive. Very nice staff, whether in the service or the open kitchen. Delicious fish, warm and cold and the best beer on the coast, an Asgaard is always good, I like to come here several times every year, thank you.

The food was very good. Unfortunately, the starter we ordered was forgotten and I find the opening hours on Saturday only until 9 p.m. very strange for Travemünde.

Not beautiful anymore. Tables and chairs quite worn and partly damaged. The service wasn't that great either. There was little going on in the store and yet we were ignored for a long time. We won't be coming back.

Sunday brunch until 11:30 am. We were there at 10:00. We weren't allowed to sit down anymore because it was being converted into a lunch buffet.
