A pleasant evening with delicious food and very friendly and good service. I'd be happy to go back anytime.

We were here for lunch. Although the restaurant was busy, we were served promptly and were able to choose one of the free tables. The food was good and plentiful. The pizza was very large, nice and thin, and relatively well-topped. Only the salami wasn't to my taste. We would come back.👍

Reservations are required during the summer months. It takes longer than at other restaurants to serve your order. This may be due to a lack of staff.

Top service and flexible table allocation, puts you in a good mood, we were lucky and had a convivial table with lovely people from southern Germany and Bavaria, I was impressed by the glass blower from Schott-Zwiesel...very interesting this profession (P.S. the glasses in the Osteria were actually from Schott-Zwiesel)

Be careful when buying a voucher. I received one as a gift two years ago and wanted to redeem it. The vouchers are valid for three years, so everything would have been fine. The waitress checked and said it had been invalid for two years. I received it in May 2023, and the voucher system was changed in August 2023 (I only found this information through research). So we left the restaurant without eating because we felt ripped off. I've sent an email to L'osteria; we'll wait and see. There was no information at the time about the system being changed. It might have been a good idea.

We had a reservation and had to wait forever to be seated. Then we weren't served for 20 minutes, even though we went to the waiters and pointed it out. The terrace was quite full, but inside (where we were seated) everything was empty. I can't understand such abysmal service.

Everything was great except the speed of service. You can't wait 45 minutes for a pizza.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, today, two years after the review below, we had to experience a service unlike anything I've ever experienced before, and I'm sure that's not the standard for this otherwise super service-friendly chain. In short, today we had service (a younger, short blonde lady) who, in my opinion, is unacceptable for this location, this chain. Cheeky, cheeky, and obsessed with having the last word. We even decided to abort the trip and drove to L'Oseria in Lübeck. My advice is to take the drive. Top service, and the pizza and pasta are incredibly delicious. That's how I imagine it! Great conditions, incredibly delicious pizza, a lovely atmosphere, and 100% child- and family-friendly. After Leipzig, you're next to Lostaria in Germany. I recommend anyone considering going there to do so. Kick it, guys, it was an honor.

The food and coffee were really delicious. However, we had to wait a really long time here, just for the drinks. This was despite the restaurant not being very busy. However, be sure to ask for the bill when paying. Waiters often add a tip themselves, at least 5%. We noticed this here in Travemünde when we asked for the bill, and also twice at the restaurant in Lübeck.

We ate at your restaurant a few days ago. The restaurant itself was clean, tidy, and had a beautiful view of the sea. The atmosphere was pleasant overall. Unfortunately, the food was of very poor quality, which was very disappointing. The "Caesar salad" consisted of almost a lot of lettuce, but it was flavorless and lacked Caesar sauce. The fried bread was also tasteless and poorly prepared. There was almost no chicken with sauce, and the pasta lacked any flavor. The meat, although well-cooked, also lacked any noticeable flavor. The worst part, however, was the pizza—it was practically "nothing," with no toppings, no flavor, and completely disappointing. There were five of us in total, and two of us suffered from severe stomach pain and cramps the night after the visit, making it difficult to sleep. There was also a mistake with one of our drinks: We had specifically ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but it most likely contained alcohol. We would like to ask you to take this incident seriously and review the quality of the food to provide a better experience for future guests.

The food is delicious. The service is attentive. I'm deducting points because, due to its size, half of the pizza was sitting on the table, with nothing else underneath. The place was packed, so the cleanliness might not have been as great for the next person at the table.

Embarrassing for a Losteria. First of all, my companions and I waited over an hour for our food. I didn't want any onions, but they gave me extra. There were only a few shrimp on my pizza, just sitting on a small corner. The pizzas were very large, as I'd expect from a Losteria, but the pasta was extremely small, and my companion wasn't satisfied. And on top of that, the staff was very unfriendly. The restaurant manager should be given a proper education on how to work.

A recent experience – and never again! What we just experienced at L'Osteria in Travemünde was simply disrespectful. We arrived less than an hour ago, were seated at a table – and from that moment on, completely ignored. For a full 30 minutes, not a glance, not a greeting, not a single question. Employees walked right past us several times, some with empty trays, pretending we were invisible. After 40 minutes without any service, we simply got up and left. Not even a "Sorry" or "Have you ordered yet?" – nothing. It's completely incomprehensible to us how guests can be treated like that. I don't have a problem if it's busy or if you have to wait a few minutes. But not receiving any attention for half an hour isn't just bad service – it's no service at all. For us, one thing is clear: This was the first and last time. If you want to eat out in Travemünde, you should look for a restaurant, such as Peter Pane, that welcomes guests – unfortunately, this L’Osteria is not one of them.

Incredibly bad – in every respect!! DO NOT GO THERE – the service was the worst I've experienced in years, cold food, dirty restrooms, dirty restaurant. Unfortunately, the order had to be corrected several times, then the drinks and food arrived at the same time, with the appetizers following. The children's food was completely wrong and only arrived after the meal. I'm speechless. We were even yelled at very rudely by two waiters in the restaurant. I'm very shocked by the hygiene, the service, the food – NEVER AGAIN. However, one waitress who wasn't in charge of us was really nice!

The pizza is delicious and large. Unfortunately, our pre-order for 7:30 p.m. wasn't ready in time, or rather, the orders were mixed up, and someone else got our pizza. Total chaos in the kitchen, reminiscent of mass production.

What you (usually) expect from L'Osteria: -No long wait times -Standard quality -Quick service and well-organized What you find in Travemünde: -Even with a reservation, you have to ask outside in line if anyone else with a reservation is waiting -After you get past the line and the responsible employee arrives, you're quickly presented with your table choices -The first order arrived relatively quickly, as did the drinks -The food, however, takes at least 45 minutes or more -In one case, the pizza was more than just carelessly slapped with toppings - it was clearly in a hurry, unfortunately the taste wasn't great, and it wasn't up to local standards -You get the feeling that, due to the influx of tourists, no effort is needed anymore -They also accommodate too many guests for the available space with too few staff -I usually always tip (much to my wife's dismay 😂) - even after giving feedback on the wait time and quality, there was no tip from the previous order. Only those who assigned tables and were not responsible for the food received a sour "sorry" -Men's restroom (for sitting) was dirty and there were no paper towels for drying hands

The pizza and pasta were delicious, but it was the first time I didn't tip when paying. The service was nice, but we had to wait 75 minutes for our food. I've never had to wait that long before, and it created a sense of time pressure. After waiting 75 minutes between bruschetta and the main course, my hunger was almost gone, and we were just annoyed.

The pizza is so delicious. The tastiest pizza I've ever eaten, and the pizzas are incredibly large. The restaurant is very nice. The Berliner was also very nice.

This was our second time here, and both times it was great. Everyone was very friendly and took great care of us. There were pens for the little one and a great view for us. The food was great. Reservations are recommended.

It was extremely crowded, almost like a mass-processing restaurant. Our server was attentive. Our table wobbled, which was very annoying. Furthermore, the tables were all too close together. The pizza was good, as you'd expect from a chain. But in the end, I would have preferred to go somewhere else.

The reservation worked out perfectly, and I had a great table. The service was friendly. The pasta dish was supposed to include cherry tomatoes and grilled vegetables, but there were only a few small zucchini. I wouldn't order that again. The other people's pizzas were good as always.

The food is incredibly delicious. I had the spaghetti carbonara. The service was very friendly and gave my wife a very good recommendation. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place, as the view is also fantastic.

We ate there yesterday and were happy with everything. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was also excellent. My only comment: since we've eaten at several L'Osterias before, and I noticed that the BBQ chicken pizza was never as seasoned as here in Travemünde, they should remind customers of this; not everyone can handle spice. But otherwise, a full 5 out of 5.

The service was very friendly and prompt, and the food was great!!! We'd love to visit you again on our next vacation in Travemünde 🥰 Melon/strawberry salad with homemade dressing, roasted chicken breast strips, pasta with basil pesto, spaghetti Bolognese, and a mega pizza. The food was good! We had various dips with bread and butter, followed by pizza. It's good that you can order two different halves. The pizza was really big and (we) enjoyed it. Service was really nice and attentive! We sat upstairs, and the air was eerie. Temperatures like a sauna, but with the smell of food. And that was despite the fact that a door was already open at the back. I wouldn't want to experience that when it's 30 degrees outside...

Having previously enjoyed L’Osteria in another location, I returned with high expectations — and I was thoroughly impressed by the same quality and menu choice. The food itself was delicious and the pizzas are a great deal bigger than other restaurants. A real treat if you’re hungry. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient with prompt service although the restaurant was quite busy. Our food arrived around 15 minutes after ordering which was unexpected but very welcome. The location of the restaurant is ideally placed whatever the weather. Outdoor seating makes for a good harbour view and plenty of indoor seating over two floors. Highly recommended and will continue to search for L’Osteria when I’m away travelling. You really won’t be disappointed.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner today on a rainy evening without a reservation. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were seated pretty quickly in the covered outdoor area. Bruschetta... very good, 45 cm pizza very tasty, spaghetti Bolognese also very tasty 😋 The service staff was very friendly and attentive. After a small oversight by a colleague (hence deducting a star), they immediately apologized, and an espresso and dessert were on the house. All in all, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much, we would love to come back.

Although it was quite busy, the service was attentive and prompt. The food, typical of an Osteria, was good—very good—and served very quickly. The price/performance ratio is very good. This rating has been confirmed repeatedly.

The online reservation was easy, everything was prepared, and the service was excellent. We sat on the first floor – it was very warm. It's a shame you can't open the windows a little. We'd love to come back.

Delicious food, friendly service, and a great view—all around, a successful visit. I was somewhat surprised that—despite opening hours until 11 p.m.—potential guests were turned away as early as 9 p.m., with the explanation that the kitchen was already closed.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. The service was overworked and unfriendly. The bruschetta was very cold, and I wasn't sure if the main course was what I ordered. But after an hour of waiting and having plates slammed down on the table when I asked, I didn't want to ask any more questions. I didn't like it.

We waited a total of almost an hour for our food. After 45 minutes? I asked where our food was. Only then was it brought. The food was rather meager: five pieces of mozzarella on a giant pizza, not balanced.

Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time, both to take our order (20 minutes) and for the food to arrive (40 minutes). It seems either understaffed or uncoordinated. There was only one server for the fully booked upper floor... We were fed up after more than an hour. There are other ways to spend the evening in Travemünde.

We often go to L'Osteria at home. This time we wanted to try the Travemünde restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. It was busy at 6:00 PM, but we got a table quickly. Despite the hectic pace, the service team had the restaurant well under control. The pizza was well-topped and perfectly prepared.

The pizza tasted good. But it took forever to be served and arrived cold. The salad I ordered wasn't brought, but I wasn't charged for it either. Hence the B rating. But the atmosphere, with the Hanseatic cog and Peter Pan sailing past, while eating in perfect weather! These are conditions you should take advantage of.

The server gave a terse reply: "It's busy and nothing happened." We spoke to another server again, and finally our pizza and salad plates arrived, but without an apology. The pizza and salad tasted average. The pizza was very large, but had a very wide crust. The price was on the higher side.

Today, we went to L'osteria Travemünde for the first time with our parents (who are in their mid-80s). Everything was great. We'd love to go back. The service staff is more than happy to handle the extremely large crowds and is always very friendly. We've already seen the pizzas, dishes, etc. at other locations – they were exactly the same. All in all, a successful evening with a beautiful view, and we'd love to go back!

The restaurant is in a very nice location, with a view of the Baltic Sea. We arrived around 5:15 p.m. You could already tell how overwhelmed the waiters were, even though the place wasn't full yet. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for the waiter to come and give us the menu. Instead of spaghetti Bolognese, they served us spaghetti carbonara. The lasagna had a piece of plastic in it, but the pizza was fine. Because the spaghetti was wrong and the lasagna had a piece of plastic in it, we couldn't eat together as a family. The waitress told us that the lasagna was frozen and that was why the piece of plastic was in it. For that price, you'd expect fresh lasagna, not frozen food. In the end, two drinks were deducted from the bill, but it wasn't worth another visit for us.

Delicious pizza and great view of the Trave

The atmosphere is like an Italian restaurant. My spaghetti alioeolio with scampi was excellent. The drinks were chilled. The pizzas looked excellent and were also very well received by the other guests. I was particularly pleased with the service. Attentive, polite, and humorous, always with a smile. The Italian language course in the villages is charming and something different. It's no coincidence that this restaurant has been around for many years. You can go there spontaneously on your own, but for two people, a reservation is advisable. Many thanks to the team. Keep up the good work!

Probably it’s a nice place when the weather is not that hot. 🥵 When it is HOT, than you will feel it indoor & outdoor. Stange that they didn’t think to put there some thing to make visiting more comfortable, like air conditioning system or so. The service was nice, but in the end nobody came so we paid at the reception to another waiter. Tiramisu was nice , but too much cacao on top so it was dangerous to breathe it in the moment of spoon near by your mounts (it happened with me twice until I started to be careful). But the view is nice.

We were at the restaurant on June 21st. We waited about 15 minutes at the entrance, then another 30 minutes at the table. We arrived at 8:50 p.m. All the guests were either sitting at empty tables with menus or waiting for the bill. It was terribly long and outrageous. Many were annoyed by the long wait, and I can understand them very well—it was completely understandable. Terrible service due to inexplicable wait times.

The food was good, as you'd expect from LOsteria. The wait, however, was unbearable. We waited forever for the drinks, which eventually arrived with the food. We also had to wait a really long time for the bill; I've never had to pay that long before...

The food was okay, a very large pizza but with extremely few toppings (I ordered chicken breast for €3 and got 4-5 small strips). Unfortunately, the owner decided to cram as many guests as possible into the small building. Larger groups in particular were sometimes seated at tables that were far too small, barely able to fit the food. Due to the significantly overcrowded restaurant, we waited over an hour for our food, and the staff also seemed very busy. The service was still very friendly. The seating area upstairs does have a very nice view, but the air is still up there; it was extremely warm and there was hardly any fresh air. Perhaps it would be advisable to install a fan or something similar. Overall, we unfortunately cannot recommend it; there are much nicer alternatives in the area.

We spontaneously ordered 16 takeaway pizzas for a school class an hour before opening. Not only were the pizzas ready and packaged on time when we arrived, they were also all sliced ​​and labeled, so everyone knew which pizza they were getting. Right on the edge of the harbor of Travemünde it is simply fun to eat these huge pizzas

Five of us visited L'Osteria in Travemünde today. First, you get a table, wait and wait to place your order... While we were waiting, new guests were already being served. Very interesting approach ;) Then it was time to place your order. After about 25 minutes, I was told they didn't have any tomato sauce to make pasta pomodoro. Imagine, an Italian restaurant doesn't have tomato sauce 🤣 But hey, I should choose something else from the menu. No sooner said than done... My choice was bruschetta, the simplest thing ever. You can't imagine, our lovely waitress said: "Unfortunately, it's out of..." What? There are no tomatoes/onions, etc.? You should really think about whether you chose the right job. This is a very embarrassing situation for you.

Absolutely not recommended. The waitress probably had a major problem. After placing our order and waiting for about 30 minutes with our child, the waitress informed us that the tomato sauce was all gone. Bruschetta wasn't available either...and this was an Italian restaurant.

We had a wonderful time there. The food was wonderfully delicious. I would love to come back, alone or with a friend.

Nice quiet place with a great view

We've been there several times and always had to wait unnecessarily. Today, June 15th, we stood at the "please wait" sign as usual and were ignored by the waiters, even though there wasn't much going on outside. After the lady was apparently on her private cell phone for about 5 minutes and didn't pay any attention to us, we left and are now going to eat somewhere else...

There's a sign at the front telling us to wait for our seat. But we weren't seated. The lady stood with her back to us the whole time, sorting cutlery and playing on her phone. The restaurant had plenty of empty seats, but no one was there to assign them.

Everything was very nice, except for the drinks, but the service was extremely courteous. We'd be happy to go back!

Hi, the food was consistently delicious, but we also had to wait a while for it. I had reserved a table several weeks in advance, and they requested a table with a good view, but unfortunately, they didn't take into account the fact that we were celebrating a milestone birthday. We were given a time slot for the table between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., and the food arrived around 7:45 p.m.

Pizza completely burnt black and came with nothing

The food and ambience is very nice here..just on the beach front..enjoyable..and the food is really tasty..we tried the pasta..you should see the size of the piza .it's hugeee...anyways..loved it..

It's always a treat to stop by L Osteria when we're in Travemünde! Sitting upstairs, you have a direct view of the Passat, a magnificent view. The food is always delicious, and the staff is consistently friendly and quick. The prices are reasonable, and all in all, it's always worth a visit. We highly recommend it!

If you want a good, affordable pizza here in Travemünde, L' Osteria is the place to go. The pizza is delicious and incredibly large, measuring about 45 cm. We were lucky enough to get a table, but I recommend making a reservation. The restaurant is very busy. The service is friendly and helpful. It's especially suitable for wheelchair users, as there's an elevator on site that makes it easy to reach the first floor.

Pizza, as always, was top-notch, generously topped and a good size. I ordered the Pizza Bó without mushrooms, it came with mushrooms, and it was taken back as a matter of course. Within five minutes, the fresh calzone without mushrooms was back on the table. That's service! :)

Unfortunately, we were immediately greeted with an unfriendly welcome and treated with embarrassment for arriving without a reservation. They didn't even allow us to wait or see if there was a solution. Yes, it can be busy, but such a dismissive and unfriendly attitude is simply unacceptable.

Absolutely terrible! The food was cold, the pizza had barely made it out of the oven and was completely pale. From our seat, we had a clear view into the kitchen. It was total chaos. Far too many people in the kitchen, and pizzas that came out of the oven sometimes sat for 10 minutes before being "processed" again. The staff regularly reached their limits and were clearly overwhelmed by the influx of customers. You just want to apologize for coming to eat!

The most beautiful restaurant in the L'Osteria chain that I know. Reservations are highly recommended! Especially if you want a front-row seat on the upper floor with a view of the water. Unusually, the atmosphere (and noise level) isn't very pleasant for an L'Osteria. They're usually crowded and so loud that you have to shout at each other. Not here. The food and drinks are of the usual quality. Children are welcome. You can reach the upper floor with a wheelchair or stroller via the elevator. Parking is (usually) paid but not a problem nearby.

Very good value for money, excellent dinner, great service, and very attentive. We'll be back!

Unfortunately, the quality has declined considerably. The pizzas used to be better. It took a relatively long time, even though the restaurant wasn't at full capacity. The cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired. The tables are no longer cleaned after each guest, and the entire restaurant was covered in traces of the day's work. They're probably cutting back on staff, so the regulars are completely overwhelmed. What a shame...

Unfortunately, we couldn't pre-order by phone, so we went straight away. Then, when we got there, it was complete chaos. Placing the order took a long time, and then the product was sold out. He had entered it twice and told me to pay later. Of course, I didn't want to do that because it would have taken twice as long 🦧 Well, it took another 30 months for the pizza to be ready. Back at the vacation apartment, we discovered that the pizza wasn't quite cooked. All in all, a much too crowded pizzeria with far too few staff. There are simply too many other good restaurants around here. We won't be eating here again.

We can't recommend it! We reserved a table three weeks in advance. When we got there, we had to wait almost 30 minutes before anyone even came to serve us. The lady came over and immediately said, "I can tell you, if you order pizza, it will take at least an hour." Absolutely unacceptable! At the same time, many people are carrying their takeout orders outside. Then you should stop serving takeout if you can't serve your customers inside.

The atmosphere was more like a cafeteria, far too crowded and too loud. L'Osteria is definitely not suitable for a cozy evening for two or with the family.
