Pizzeria Primavera in Oberstdorf

We've been regular guests in Oberstdorf for many years, and the Primavera was our favorite place to go, not only when we wanted to enjoy a good meal after a stressful journey. And that was no longer the case on this Friday. A quick phone reservation was supposed to ensure a relaxed dining experience. However, the manager answered: "We don't take reservations anymore! Come on by, it'll work out," said the manager on the phone. After we had finally climbed the steep stairs to the cellar restaurant at 7 p.m., we were met with disappointment: a packed restaurant and a line of waiting guests. Our favorite waiter, "Gianni," who was hurrying past, was visibly annoyed because he couldn't offer us a seat. Well, we finally found a seat at the neighboring Dampfbierbrauerei (steam beer brewery) and enjoyed Bavarian delicacies and a tasty beer. It was also a lovely evening. And the Primavera? Well, they probably make their money without us and will have to do without us as regulars in the future. It's a shame, we always enjoyed the food, but there are other good restaurants in Oberstdorf!

We visited the restaurant on a weekday in mid-September and were lucky to be assigned a table outside without a reservation (which isn't possible there anyway). We ordered the grilled salmon fillet and the lasagna al forno. We didn't have to wait long; the food arrived relatively quickly despite the numerous other diners, and we were absolutely satisfied. It was freshly prepared and piping hot, with the lasagna still cooking in its tray (see video clip). The service was friendly, and the value for money was within the usual range. The restaurant is located directly across from Oberstdorf train station; we highly recommend it.

In one word: perfect! Delicious food and great wines (next time I'll have a dry red too...😉). We went there twice this year, and just like in previous years, it was absolutely recommended. The highlight: when the fantastic Italian waiter/host pours grappa. We'll definitely be back 👍🏻

We had a very, very good meal tonight! A wonderfully friendly, relaxed lady served us. I had a very appetizing lasagna. My husband had the spaghetti with shrimp and scampi...super fresh and well-presented...the grappa was sensationally good...a very relaxed evening...and something you rarely experience, such friendly, completely relaxed service from the lady...Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

Very good Roman pizza (thin and crispy)! My recommendation is the Pizza Diavolo, because they have good Italian salami. The ambiance is a bit old-fashioned, but as is often the case in Italy, anyone who knows it will appreciate it.

We eat here on every vacation and are always very satisfied.

The pizza was okay. The pasta was terrible, with no flavor and no garlic, even though I paid for it.

We ordered takeaway food two days ago and were truly disappointed. We paid a whopping €15 for the carpaccio – and what we got was an absolute disgrace. There was barely any meat in the plastic packaging, just a huge amount of arugula that completely covered the actual dish. It tasted okay, but the portion was ridiculously small and the value for money was simply abysmal. You really shouldn't be offering something like that at that price – what a shame! But the rest of the food, like the tagliatelle panna and the tomato soup, was delicious and plentiful.

We ordered three pizzas to take away. They were amazing, highly recommended.

I find Italian restaurants that offer Hawaiian pizza (pineapple) and spaghetti carbonara with cream sauce somehow inauthentic.

The pizza was good and plentiful, and we were lucky that there was Leifmusik next door.

Went here for pizza, and the pizza was amazing! If you like a thin pizza base with plenty of toppings, this is the place for you. Interesting atmosphere in the basement but with an outdoor area. Service was quick and friendly, and prices were reasonable. Table reservations are not possible.

We were thrilled! The pizzeria impresses with its excellent value for money, fresh ingredients, and truly fantastic service. Everything was perfect – from the quality of the food to the friendly service. We'll be happy to come back!

Very tasty pasta and pizza for a fair price. I ordered the spaghetti with anchovies, capers, olives, and garlic in tomato sauce. Very friendly waiter and cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

Overall a bit expensive, but everything was super tasty. The pizza and salad to take away were very tasty. Pizza could have had a little more toppings for my taste. The salad dressing was very good.

We visited this pizzeria and ordered three pasta dishes: Carbonara, Penne with Tomato Sauce, and Olive Spaghetti. Since we were in a hurry, we requested a quick takeaway, and to be fair, they did pack it quickly. However, once we got home, we were really disappointed. All three pastas were bland, undercooked, and completely lacked flavor—we ended up throwing most of it away. What made the experience even more unpleasant was when I tried to take a photo of the food for this review. A lady from the restaurant insisted I delete the pictures, even though it was clear I was only capturing the restaurant interior, not any individuals. It was a bit ridiculous and unnecessary. While the prices were reasonable, the food quality was poor and the staff was not welcoming or friendly. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Super tasty food at civilized prices and an extremely nice staff. Unfortunately, what always spoils the joy of eating is the fact that it is a…..cold in the dining room. Not just once, but every time. You don't feel like staying there any longer. Until the “outdoor” season opens, I prefer to just pick up my food. Too bad

Great pasta, friendly service We come here at least once on vacation. We always enjoy the food and the service is always friendly.

We ate here as a family. The pizza was really tasty, big and came very quickly, even though there were a lot of guests there. The service was okay, seemed a bit stressed. What we didn't like was the ambience. Everything is quite simply furnished and has little charm (e.g. the electric candle). The prices are reasonable for that.

For us it's probably the best pizza in Germany. Simply delicious. Service is very quick and everything is at the table quickly. The only drawback is that the busy and fast traffic gives the feeling that you are just being “processed”. Unfortunately, that takes away from the comfort. Otherwise great.

The "Vegeteria" pizza was great! Thin crust with a great texture!

SUPER - all the food, from salads, pizzas, pastas, meat dishes... tastes wonderful, the portions are huge, and also affordable. Went to the table every evening on holiday - unfortunately no pre-orders are possible. But perfect.

We actually only went in because the steam beer brewery next door was overcrowded. Ultimately the better choice! Much quieter, delicious food and nice service. Attention: There are many more dishes than can be rated here!!! At least 20 different pizzas and countless pasta varieties plus fish dishes, salads, desserts and so on! Absolutely worth a visit!

A very good Italian restaurant. I didn't like the atmosphere in the restaurant. We should lend a hand here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You don't have to wait long for the food. The dishes, whether starters, pasta. Pizza etc. are very good. I can only recommend the restaurant in the basement!

The pizza is incredibly good. I have only eaten comparably good Italian pizzas in Italy and Garmisch-Patenkirchen. The staff is very nice... Unfortunately, the restaurant is in the basement and therefore has no windows. But that would be the only negative point. I can recommend everyone to eat pizza there.

It was a little noisy the evening we were there. The pizza could have been spicier, but maybe that's a matter of taste.

Wir waren heute mit unserem Hund dort essen und wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Der Service war hervorragend und wir haben schon lange keine so gute Pizza mehr gegessen. Das einzige was wir zu bemängeln hatten war und das hat den Aufenthalt leider mit einen kleinen negativen Beigeschmack versehen, dass Knoblauch mit je Pizza 1,50€ extra berechnet wurde. Das fanden wir schon unangemessen, denn in jeder anderen Pizzeria ist Knoblauch ohne Aufpreis. Klar stand auf der Karte, dass Zusatzzutaten mit 1,50€ extra berechnet werden, aber wir sind nicht davon ausgegangen, dass „Knoblauch“ als Extrazutat mit einem so unangemessenen Mehrbetrag berechnet wird. Das sollte mal überdacht werden, daher leider ein Stern Abzug, sonst hätte es die vollen 5 gegeben. Ansonsten kommen wir gerne wieder.

We ate there again today after a lovely day in Oberstdorf. It was very tasty again! So far we have always enjoyed what we ordered. No matter whether pizza, pasta or steak. We would love to make a trip there again on our next vacation in the area.

No matter what you try there, it all tastes fantastic! The pizzas are huge. Small drawback: it's usually quite crowded there and so you sometimes have to wait a while, but that's often the case in good restaurants. Personally, I didn't really like the atmosphere downstairs, it could be made much nicer. I don't like sitting outside because of the wasps...

Pizza quite ok, prices as you would expect in a holiday resort. Seating outside and in the basement. No own parking spaces. Charges nearby.

I'm excited If I lived in Oberstdorf I could give away my kitchen. I would have loved to eat the menu up and down, but unfortunately we weren't here on vacation for that long. The very best of the pizzeria is Giani. He runs the whole place with great humor and genuine friendliness. No matter what you order, I always wanted to say (again please). Doesn't work, the portions are quite large.

We had a delicious pizza, gnocchi and a carpaccio. The meals were delicious. However, nothing special. The ambience in the basement has a southern flair, with cold white lighting and little charm. There is definitely room for improvement here.

My wife and I went there for dinner. The ratio between price and performance is right here, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. Why did I give it 4 stars? The decisive factor was the price in conjunction with the quality. If we had paid more, I would have given it "only" 3 stars. Now for the analysis: The welcome from the service was short and not exuberant. In general, I would like to point out that I have seen more motivated employees, but everyone can have a bad day. The service was still okay. We ordered a small mixed salad, a Pizza Regina and a Pizza Pugliese for dinner. The salad was okay, a little too expensive for my taste, but at least it tasted good and mixed very well with the dressing. The pizzas are a decent size, have a thin and crispy base and come from a wood-fired oven. Taste good. Personally, I liked the sauce and cheese on it the best. I would happily pay a little more if the pizza had higher quality ingredients. The salami on the pizza was now of the cheaper variety, as was the pepperoni. These were mainly a bit sour - mainly because they weren't cut open and therefore had all the juice still in them. This was also rather less tasty. The stems could also have been removed. However, you can't go wrong when choosing a restaurant.

Even though it was extremely busy during carnival and therefore everything went very well inside this pizzaria. The waiter quickly made room for us (we were 9 people!) and the pizzas, lasagna & salads are definitely recommended! They are also child-friendly in terms of high chairs, etc. Waiters, kitchen & bar staff; chapeau! 🥂

Pizza was good, lasagna unfortunately not. The facility is slowly getting old. When entering at 1:20 p.m. it was already pointed out that it would close at 2 p.m. - a friendly reception looks different :-/. All in all: you didn't really feel comfortable or welcome...

Ich erhielt einige positive Tipps für dieses Lokal. Aber wir waren enttäuscht: Beim Eintreten bemühte sich niemand um uns, da der Chef sich intensiv wohl mit Stammkunden unterhielt. Da fühlt man sich nicht willkommen. Die Saltimbocca bestand zwar aus ausreichend viel Fleisch, aber ein darauf gelegtes kleines grünes welkes Blatt war das Alibi für den fehlenden Salbei-Geschmack. Also: Nicht zu empfehlen

Okay. Aber mehr nicht. Die Pizzeria ist im Keller, man sitzt recht gemütlich. Das Essen ist in Ordnung aber nicht überragend. Der Service ist flott. Preise sind sehr okay! Oft bekommt man hier noch einen Tisch wenn überall in Oberstdorf alles voll ist. Keine Gratisparkplätze in der Nähe!

Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Die Mitarbeiter sind extrem nett. 1A Service. Sehr sehr freundlicher Service und Eine tolle Auswahl an Gerichten. Alles in einem ein tolles Restaurant. Ich kann es bloß nur weiter empfehlen!

Sehr gutes Essen eine freundliche Bedienung was will man mehr. Die Pizzen sind hervorragend und schmecken richtig gut! Liegt wahrscheinlich daran das sie einen sehr dünnen Boden haben.
