We were looking forward to a nice New Year's evening and had specifically made a reservation at Relax. Unfortunately, the service was a huge disappointment. We were greeted with a long, dismissive groan from the waitress and shown to our table without a word. (Great welcome!) We were then ignored for about 15 minutes (even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy at 5 pm). After we waved to the waiter, he finally brought our order, albeit reluctantly. We didn't feel welcome at all. A real shame. The food was good, and the two young waitresses who brought it to us were very friendly. We've been coming to Oberstdorf for over 20 years, but this was the worst, most unfriendly service ever. A real shame. I can understand that the staff is stretched to their limits over the holidays, but this is unacceptable.

Getting a table without a reservation is almost impossible, but that's not a big deal. Even though the place was packed, all the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating to special requests. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We'll be back...

My wife ordered Kaiserschmarrn. The menu stated it was served with rum raisins. The Kaiserschmarrn was served without raisins. When we asked about it, we were told that Kaiserschmarrn is only available without raisins. It's a shame when you don't get what's described on the menu. Of course, we took a photo of the menu as proof.

Having been regular customers for years, this time with 4 friends we received excellent service with great attention and felt extremely comfortable there again.

The waiter was very unfriendly; it really made us not want to order anything. His demeanor was unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome. We are regular customers and generally enjoy coming here, but friendliness shouldn't suffer, even when things get busy.

Christmas Eve… Food was very good and delicious… unfortunately, the table assigned to us was in front of the fully occupied bar, which meant that despite the festive menu, it wasn't a really nice evening.

The food was plentiful, varied, and fantastic. The service was impeccable. Our dog was, of course, welcome. All in all, a 5-star evening. :)

A week in Oberstdorf, a week of breakfast, and also lunch and dinner at RELAX. Whether at the bar, in the kitchen, or in the dining room, we can only give the staff top marks! Always attentive, friendly, and, when they had time, kind words, even when they were busy. The menu covers all tastes, whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner; there's something for everyone, and everything that comes out of the kitchen is delicious. A special thank you goes to the service staff for setting the table so nicely for a birthday – something that isn't always a given. Thank you again so much! We had planned to go to the breakfast buffet, as it was a real highlight in Oberstdorf in January. Unfortunately, it's no longer offered; only breakfast à la carte is available. It was still good, but I missed having muesli, yogurt with fruit, or porridge on offer. Then it would have been the perfect "breakfast fit for a queen."

It was really delicious, and there was little waiting time even though it was very crowded.

The waiter was already in a bad mood and made condescending remarks when we ordered drinks. The food took a very long time and didn't match the menu description – the herb spaetzle arrived without any herbs, and the waiter's inquiry to the kitchen was forgotten. And all this despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty – not even half the tables were occupied, and it was relatively early in the evening. Overall, the food was disappointing, just as it had been during a previous visit some time ago. We were also disappointed the day before at Wildes Männle...

We had dinner there as a couple (turkey strips and Oberstdorf pan-fried meat). The service was good, friendly, and fast. The food was tasty, and the portions were generous. It was Friday evening, and there were many large groups. On other days it was quiet, but still good. 👍

We had a delicious meal. The restaurant was almost full. We had omelet and Nebelhorn schnitzel (filmed with mountain cheese and spinach). Everything was delicious. Good portions.

Very full restaurant, probably the only one in the area where they cooked. The soup was good and the beer too. My colleague had a burger and was very satisfied. It was lucky that there was a free table but people were moving around a lot, so you had a table very early. Payment by card was possible.

We visited this restaurant twice during our short vacation. There were four adults and two children in our party. Each time, we received a wonderfully warm welcome. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Every single member of staff was incredibly kind and friendly towards our very lively children. We were, and still are, absolutely delighted!

Good food, hot meals served all day!

Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated over the years. We had a schnitzel that was small and even had a bone in it. The side dish was changed to croquettes – the portion was a joke. Then we had the autumn tortellini. There was far too little of it, and it was too salty. The children's portion of Spätzle was swimming in grease. While the changing table was accessible to both genders, the women's restroom was then inaccessible. The waitress didn't speak German very well, otherwise we would have mentioned it.

Everything was very good. We visited the restaurant on two consecutive days.

Currently one of the few open restaurants, which unfortunately is noticeable in the (over-)crowding. This resulted in a very long wait for the food (50 minutes for us). However, the food itself was very tasty. The prices, except for the pizza, are quite steep.

Despite the huge crowd, the staff was very friendly and professional. All the tables were occupied, but we weren't turned away; instead, we were asked to wait briefly at the bar. After 10 minutes, we were shown to a free table and received excellent service. Even our dog was welcome. The food and drinks were very good and the prices were perfectly reasonable. Thank you so much, that's how service should be! We'll definitely be back. Schalke fans will also love the blue lounge (see pictures).

We had a wonderful, generous breakfast today. We ordered one light and one hearty option. The platter and plates were well-stocked. We were even able to take some home with us. The service was very friendly and attentive; we felt truly comfortable in the pleasant atmosphere. Thank you, Katja!

Hello Unfortunately, I was very disappointed today. I ordered a fish platter where, sadly, half the salmon was raw. The service was extremely arrogant. When I asked if she thought an "oh, I'm sorry" would suffice, I received a curt reply that she had already checked if everything was alright. Yes, she had, but I hadn't eaten the salmon yet at that point. It can happen that the salmon isn't cooked through. The way she handled it was very haughty and arrogant. This should be discussed. I hadn't been there since 2023, but I spontaneously went in today and was pleasantly surprised 👌 Regarding the not-so-positive reviews: just speak to the staff and I'm sure they'll rectify anything if something isn't right...in any case, the penne with king prawns and salmon, as well as the farmer's omelet with side salad, were delicious 😋 I was happy to leave a good tip 👍

Unfortunately, my venison goulash was lukewarm and didn't get much warmer after complaining.

The food was very good. The beef steak was still raw inside. Could be an isolated incident. However, I didn't complain. One star deducted. Otherwise, I'd be happy to return.

After 10 years, we landed in Oberstdorf again and enjoyed the days. After almost always eating at Relax 10 years ago and several years before that, and always being thrilled by the food, service, and ambiance, we decided to try again this year. Everything was perfect as usual. Keep up the good work!

We often went there in the morning just for scrambled eggs, and also occasionally in the evening. The breakfast service was top-notch and very, very friendly. The food in the evening was delicious. Our little four-legged friend was also very welcome! The restaurant is very well-kept and clean. The fresh table flowers are always a feast for the eyes. All in all, "dining the way you want it!" Thank you all.

The Relax restaurant in Oberstdorf is truly a very cozy and lovely place for breakfast. The ambiance is pleasant and invites you to linger – highly recommended! Unfortunately, we have to deduct one star: On Saturday, we went there for the French breakfast, which normally includes a croissant – but it was no longer available. We wanted to try it again on Sunday, but there were no croissants available. In addition to the white sausage, they didn't serve pretzels, but simply a bread roll – without asking if that was okay beforehand. That was a bit of a shame. Nevertheless, overall a nice breakfast experience with room for improvement in terms of service and food availability.

Absolutely terrible! I don't understand the positive reviews. The food was average at best. The burger patty - upon request from the waiter - came from a wholesaler. But the burger was €20.00 expensive. The staff were extremely rude. The red wine was warm. The restaurant is part of the Wilden Männlein association...same experience there. After a glass broke while being lifted, we were asked to leave and were not served again. We weren't loud, nor were we rude. I would have expected an apology from the extremely rude gentleman. The laconic explanation...they're not a pub. Surprising, considering the pub area is filled with slot machines ripping people off. What remains: mediocre food in a mediocre atmosphere and a very rude staff and manager! Why be customer-friendly when you can just rip tourists off! Thanks for nothing and a miserable evening!

We ate at Relax Essen four times during our vacation. Our verdict: very friendly, attentive waiters, who accommodated every request for a different order or side dish. Even after the meal, when I found the portion too small, my request for a second helping was immediately fulfilled without any fuss. The food is incredibly delicious.

The blue salon is recommended; it's not as loud or cramped as the front area.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary yesterday and enjoyed a delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere. The food was cooked to perfection, whether it was the vegetables, the rosemary potatoes, or the pink-roasted salmon. Many thanks to the kitchen and service. Agnes & Norbert 👩‍❤️‍👨 We do have one small suggestion for improvement, though! For example, I eat more slowly than my husband. If the plates were preheated, the food would stay warm longer.

We've been to Relax several times and can say that the quality of the food is consistently high. The steaks have always been perfect (medium for us), but the constantly changing weekly menu also offers high-quality variety to the already extensive offerings. The prices are reasonable. The interior is cozy, and the service is fast and friendly. Reservations are recommended, at least in the evenings, as Relax enjoys great popularity.

Kaiserschmarren is more like fried semolina pudding. Everything floats in oil in the serving pan.

The food is good, but the waiter is cold, which doesn't make you want to come back, which is a shame.

We went there in the evening for a glass of wine. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. However, we had a woman with us who could only drink water, and when I asked for a slice of lemon for her water, we got one. However, we weren't told that a slice of lemon costs an extra €0.40. This surprised us when we were paying and left us truly stunned. We always get lemon or orange slices in our drinks, and I've never had to pay extra for them anywhere. It sounds silly, but afterward, we were all speechless, and it overshadowed the otherwise very pleasant evening.

After waiting 45 minutes for our meal, a waiter came out ( we understood later he was the owner) to ask ( we believe ) if people were warm enough- the space heater was on behind me. I apologised that as English I did not understand. He said something to the adjacent couple whilst laughing pointing back at us with a “. English”. Clearly disparaging and rude we paid for the wine and left. There was no apology- just a throwaway comment that a 45 minute wait was ok. We walked down the road and had a lovely pizza LaStrada8 with courteous service.

Modernly furnished restaurant, good lighting, excellent ambiance, fast service… but you should make a reservation! Reservations are not possible outside. We had a crisp, fresh side salad with a variety of ingredients. We should have shared one instead. On schnitzel day, despite high demand, the schnitzel was very well cooked and the size should not be underestimated! All in all, we'll be back because we both enjoy the varied menu! Note: How much you spend per person is always up to you!

I had a beef fillet, but it was very tough. The service was very reserved, more like a distance. Empty plates were cleared away even while the other five people were still eating. All in all, it was okay, but the food really wasn't that special. There are many better restaurants in Oberstdorf.
