Reserved a table online, no confirmation received. Tried calling 5 times, nobody answered (outside of busy times). On the 6th attempt, someone answered and confirmed that there was no reservation. When I then asked them to take the reservation over the phone, they said no and that I should do it online. When I said that I had already tried this, they replied that sometimes it doesn't work and I should just keep trying. When I asked if there really was no other way to get a table, they again said no. I should keep trying and if it doesn't work after a few attempts, they could write it down in pencil. Thank you very much, we won't be coming and would rather eat somewhere else.

Modernly furnished restaurant, good lighting, excellent ambiance, fast service… but you should make a reservation! Reservations are not possible outside. We had a crisp, fresh side salad with a variety of ingredients. We should have shared one instead. On schnitzel day, despite high demand, the schnitzel was very well cooked and the size should not be underestimated! All in all, we'll be back because we both enjoy the varied menu! Note: How much you spend per person is always up to you!

We went to eat here in the evening. Overall, I wouldn't do it again. Food was ok, service was stressful and smelled very strongly of sweat…. Unfortunately, it's very unappetizing, especially when serving food... It wasn't a "feel-good atmosphere" overall.

My first negative experience in Allgäu gastronomy in many years. On this vacation, too, on the 8th day, we'd only had pleasant experiences beforehand. It was abruptly interrupted today. After starting out in Oberstdorf in the morning in rain, which eased during the hike and stopped about half an hour before we reached the inn, we were happy to be able to stop at the inn. We left our still-wet umbrella in the vestibule. When we wanted to hang our dry anorak on a designated coat hook inside, the innkeeper asked us to hang our clothes outside and also leave our small daypack outside (containing two pairs of glasses, hotel key, wallet, etc.). It was already "wet" where we were. There was indeed moisture, but no dirt, after walking on asphalt for at least the last half hour, and not through mud before that. The soles of our shoes were probably still damp. We decided not to stop at the inn. Suggestion: Sign: Closed in rainy weather, or provide an old rag or slippers in the entrance area. The very unfriendly male hosts, in particular, seem unsuitable for working in a mountain inn. Fortunately, this has only happened to me twice in my approximately 40 years of regular hiking. It's a shame, one negative among hundreds of pleasant vacation experiences. But it's memorable, and I've even mentioned it to other hikers. The place made a nice impression, but I can't comment on the food.

Joo is located in the heart of Oberstdorf. It's about a 10-minute walk from the train station.
