Das Jagdhaus in Oberstdorf

Wir waren "nur" im Biergarten (das soll nicht abwerten! Aber zum Interieur können wir leider nichts sagen 😅), haben aber ausgiebig gegessen und getrunken in toller Atmosphäre mit sehr sehr gutem, deftigen Essen aus lokalen Zutaten und freundlichem Service. Sind satt und zufrieden heraus gekommen Jederzeit wieder

Absolute Empfehlung!!! Ich war in meinem Allgäu Urlaub gleich 2x dort.Hier stimmt einfach alles ! Für jeden etwas dabei und alles regional ,das schmeckt man auch . So viel Liebe fürs Detail auf dem Teller und geschmacklich überragend. Der Service war unfassbar herzlich , man hat sich wirklich rundum wohlgefühlt und wurde bestens versorgt. Für den Sommer super schöne Außenplätze im Biergarten . Ich werde definitiv wieder kommen,danke für das tolle Erlebnis :)

Nachdem wir unsere Wanderung spät beendet hatten, haben wir noch kurz vor Feierabend einen Tisch bekommen. Die Bedienung war sehr schnell und freundlich und kannte die Karte sehr gut, um uns zu beraten. Das Essen selber hätte besser nicht sein können. Das Hirschragout, sowie das Schnitzel waren butterzart und schön saftig. Die Beilagen hatten die perfekte Menge und waren ebenfalls sehr lecker. Auf Extra-Wünsche wurde eingegangen und sie wurden erfüllt. Uns hat vor allem das Konzept der Regionalität überzeugt herzukommen und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sowas spielt in der heutigen Zeit eine große Rolle im Bezug auf die Nachhaltigkeit und den bewussten Umgang mit Lebensmitteln und deren Herkunft. Sollten wir nochmal den Weg nach Oberstdorf finden, sehen wir uns hier definitiv wieder! Danke!

Wer Wert auf handwerklich perfekt zubereitete Fleischgerichte legt, ist im Jagdhaus bestens aufgehoben. Die gekochte Rinderbrust vom Oberstdorfer Rind war von exzellenter Qualität und optimaler Konsistenz. Die Beilagen – knackiger Wirsing und sehr gute Bratkartoffeln – rundeten das Gericht wunderbar ab. Auch das Rindfleischpflanzerl mit den würzigen Kässpatzen überzeugte auf ganzer Linie. ​Das Jagdhaus liegt preislich sicher im gehobenen Segment, aber für diese erstklassige Qualität und das Ambiente lohnt sich der Besuch auf jeden Fall. Ein rundum gelungener Abend mit sehr gutem Service!

Sehr freundlich und schönes Ambiente. Wir saßen auf der Sonnenterrasse mit Blick auf die Berge. Allerdings war das Wildfleischpflänzle an der Grenze zwischen Medium und roh. Vielleicht gehört das so, aber das nächste Mal werden wir darum bitten, es mehr gebraten zu bekommen.

Essen war für den Preis von 30€ für ein Schnitzel nicht gerade überzeugend und es hat sich nach purer Abzocke angefühlt.

Schnitzel war nicht gut. Hohe Preise für nix besonderes. Kinderunfreundlich.

Das Essen war richtig lecker, alles frisch und gut gewürzt. Die Bedienung war super freundlich und aufmerksam. Kommen wir gerne wieder.

Hallo, wir waren auf der Sonnenterrasse und mit unsrem Essen sehr zufrieden. Nur dass der junge Kellner uns alle ungefragt duzt empfanden wir störend und unangebracht. Darauf angesprochen reagierte der Kellner mit Unverständnis. Das sei hier normal, wir seien hier ja in den Bergen. Eine Entschuldigung gab es also nicht. NEIN, wir sind nicht in den Bergen , sondern in einem gehobenen Speiselokal und da geht sowas gar nicht. Grade gegenüber älteren Gästen, wie uns mit teilweise über 80, ist das eher unverschämt.

Spitzenmässiges Personal und Menü - sogar auf Norwegisch für unsere Gruppe. Die urige Stube war perfekt für die 28 Gäste - absolut empfehlenswert!

Wir waren eine kleine Gruppe, hatten reserviert und wurden freundlich empfangen und bestens umsorgt. Toller Service, sehr feines Essen. Wir kommen wieder.

Wir haben unter anderem einen Sauerbraten bestellt. Zunächst wurden wir aufgrund der langen Wartezeit vertröstet. „Es sei etwas auf den Boden gefallen, daher dauere es etwas länger.“ Ein Stück des Sauerbratens war nahezu vollständig von Fett durchsetzt. Als wir darauf hinwiesen, wurde uns gesagt, dass sei eine Kollagen-Sehne, dies wäre normal. Wir könnten aber eine neue Scheibe bekommen, sie könnten „aber nicht garantieren, dass dies nicht wieder der Fall sei.“ In einem guten Restaurant würde man so ein Stück normalerweise nicht servieren oder zumindest aussortieren oder ersetzen, wenn es auffällt. Wir erhielten einen Obstler.

Wir haben am 04.07.25 im Jagdhaus Oberstdorf im "Blauen Salon" geheiratet. Ein wunderschöner Raum! Im Anschluss gab es ein großartiges Hochzeitsessen im Jagdhaus. Wir haben in unserem Urlaub geheiratet und haben mit dem Jagdhaus-Team sämtliche Details völlig problemlos per Mail geklärt. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, die Mitarbeiter waren durchgehend sehr freundlich und gut gelaunt. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit vor Ort und haben uns wohl gefühlt. :) Die Räumlichkeiten haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Hochzeitsmenü wurde vorab gewählt und es gab sogar passende Menükarten für unsere Gäste. Das Essen war wirklich großartig!!! Von uns eine klare Empfehlung! Vielen lieben Dank an das Team! :)

Der Service ist sehr gut, wir hatten Kaiserschmarrn, den hatten wir allerdings schon mal besser gegessen, die Stücke geschnitten, nicht zerzuselt, zu dick und ein wenig trocken..sonst alles 👍

Das historische Jagdhaus zeigt sich im Winter weniger einladend. Das Ambiente ist eher schlicht. Obwohl es mit einfachen Maßnahmen deutlich gemütlicher gestaltet werden könnte. Das Essen ist für meinen Geschmack überteuert. Ich hatte einen Rehbraten für 35 € und das Braten war recht trocken. Klar, ein gutes Rehbraten zuzubereiten ist nicht einfach, jedoch für 35 € würde ich es erwarten.

Wir waren gestern Abend erstmals dort essen. Im ersten Raum hängen die Lampen so hoch, dass man geblendet wird. Darauf durfte wir in einem anderen Raum Platz nehmen. Die Holzstühle sind mit Fliesauflage sehr hart. Man reichte uns Kissen. Die Vorspeisen waren sehr gut und lecker. Jedoch war der Rehbraten sowie die Serviettenknödel eine Katastrophe was mit dem Preis nicht im Einklang stand. Der Braten schmeckte aufgewärmt und war trocken. Die Serviettenknödel sahen aus wie schon öfter gebratenen, undiffinierbarer Geschmack und ausgetrocknet. Vielen Dank an die Service Kraft. Leider hatten wir aus der Küche kein Feedback mehr erhalten.

Stilvoll eingerichtete Gaststätte mit gemütlichem Ambiente. Da es mehrere Räume auf verschiedenen Ebenen gibt, verteilt sich alles sehr gut und der Geräuschpegel ist sehr angenehm. Das Essen und der Nachtisch waren sehr lecker und auch reichhaltig. Alles punktgenau, wie es sein sollte. Das trifft auch auf den Service zu. Alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Insbesondere der Kellner, welcher mich bedient hat, war sehr professionell im Umgang mit der Kundschaft und verstand es genau, wie er auf diese zuzugehen hatte. Leider ist das inzwischen selten geworden. Zudem war Kartenzahlung problemlos möglich. Also alles rundum perfekt!

Das Essen war gut, aber wir hatten einen der unhöflichsten Kellner, die mir je begegnet sind. Er wirkte sehr gestresst, obwohl das Restaurant nicht besonders voll war. Er ermahnte uns mehrmals zur Ruhe (wir waren zu acht, aber nicht besonders laut), und schrie mich dann auch noch an, weil ich bei der Getränkebestellung nicht laut genug gesprochen hatte. Er seufzte laut und verdrehte ständig die Augen. Wir mussten mucksmäuschenstill sein, während er die Rechnung ausrechnete. Das hat uns allen den Genuss unseres eigentlich so schönen „letzten Weihnachtsabendessens“ verdorben. Ich würde dieses Restaurant weder empfehlen noch jemals wieder hingehen.

Muss man unbedingt mal erleben. Sehr, sehr gutes Essen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder... 👍🏻

Ein wunderschönes Restaurant mit superfreundlichem Personal. Das Essen war zwar teuer, aber sehr gut, und besonders gut gefiel mir die Verwendung ausschließlich regionaler Produkte! Eine tolle Idee. Der Kaiserschmarren war fantastisch, der Alkohol, der darüber gegossen wurde, war allerdings ziemlich stark, haha.

Ich hatte für eine Person reserviert und war etwas unsicher, allein essen zu gehen. Das Personal war aber sehr freundlich und ich habe mich wohlgefühlt. Die Bedienung war beim Servieren der Gänge perfekt – das war wirklich beeindruckend. Auch die Einrichtung des Restaurants ist sehr schön. Ich komme gerne wieder, wenn ich mal wieder in Oberstdorf bin.

Wir sind seit Jahren Gäste im Jagdhaus Oberstdorf. Was wir heute erleben mussten ist unterirdisch. Daher nun auch mal eine negative Rezension. Wir wollten um 13:15 Uhr nach einer längeren Winterwanderung wie üblich einkehren und etwas trinken. Die Gasträume waren bis auf zwei Tische unbelegt und wir erkundigten uns bei der nicht sonderlich freundlichen Kellnerin nach einem Platz für zwei Personen. Da wir nichts essen wollten, wurde uns der Schwiegersohnplatz an der Theke im Flurbereich angeboten. Auf Nachfrage, ob wir nicht auch an einem der freien Tische Platz nehmen können, wurde uns dies explizit verwehrt??? Es muss dem Gasthaus finanziell schon sehr gut gehen, wenn man so mit Gästen umgeht. Wir sind extrem enttäuscht! Da wir schon häufiger in dem Jagdhaus waren und eigentlich immer zufrieden waren, gibt es dieses Mal von uns noch 2 Sterne. Obwohl eigentlich unverdient.

Wir haben zum Glück, das Jagdhaus für uns entdeckt und können nur sagen einfach hervorragend.Der Chef selbst nimmt einen herzlich in Empfang, man fühlt sich direkt wohl.Die Speisen raffiniert, verfeinerte regionale Gerichte.Wir kommen gerne wieder.

A small, cozy restaurant – always highly recommended! They serve only regional and seasonal dishes – and they're incredibly delicious. A unique and sophisticated option: Jagdhaus Ramen – the Bavarian take on the classic Japanese noodle soup. Another classic on the small but excellent menu: Tafelspitz (boiled beef) with apple and horseradish on creamed savoy cabbage and fried potatoes.

Great food, very friendly service! Highly recommended, especially the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle).

We were here with a group of ten, and the ambiance was truly charming and rustic, living up to its name. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a while (45 minutes) before we could order. We didn't find the server particularly professional, as we were addressed informally from the start. The food is made with regional ingredients, which I think is great, but it simply lacked authentic spices, especially pepper, which gave the food a very bland taste. In this context, I find it inconsistent that they forgo pepper and other spices, yet still offer coffee. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us.

A very beautiful and elegant restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. The building is an old, large, and very beautiful forester's lodge with many lovely paintings inside.

I've had the pleasure of photographing several weddings at the Royal Hunting Lodge. The Blue Salon is simply breathtaking. The ground-floor rooms, with their more rustic charm, are also perfect for a champagne reception. It's no wonder it's considered the most beautiful registry office in Germany. I highly recommend it. We felt very welcome at the place where Prince Regent Luitpold once stayed! Highly recommended, a true gem!

We celebrated my sister's wedding today at the Royal Hunting Lodge. The ambiance is wonderful, lovingly and cozily decorated. The food, from appetizer to dessert, was absolutely delicious! But what I especially want to highlight is the service and the incredibly kind and attentive way the guests were treated. Especially by the lovely Peggy with our children! I've never experienced anything like it before! As a mother, I was truly delighted that the children were the top priority and that they were always so well taken care of. There was no impatience, and the little ones were never bored. As we left, the children gave Peggy a happy hug—so sweet! <3 This contributed greatly to us all having a wonderful and relaxing afternoon/evening. For that, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! We'll be back! 5 stars *****

In my opinion, the Jagdhaus restaurant has unfortunately slipped a bit. My dish didn't live up to my expectations of what was advertised on the menu. Two ingredients that were listed on the menu were missing, and, as I think was common practice in the past, there was no chef's greeting this time. The food tasted good, but my sauce was a bit bland, and I missed the salt on the roasted potatoes. The restaurant advertises itself with the slogan "Brutal Lokal," which is why they don't serve pepper, as it's not native to the area. So far, so good...but...the background music during our meal was American country music, which I found incongruous. The service, however, was excellent. We come here for dinner every time we visit Oberstdorf and, unfortunately, weren't as satisfied this time as in the past.

I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance of the Jagdhaus. I made a spontaneous reservation and was very impressed not only by the interior, but also by the food. The rooms are separate, so you can enjoy the evening in peace. I had the goulash, which fell apart tenderly on my fork. Even a small issue with the card payment was resolved quickly and easily. The restaurant can definitely compete with other restaurants in Oberstdorf and stands out positively. I would be happy to return on my next vacation.

Had tripe for the first time in ages: excellent! Roast venison in pine cone sauce was also a delight. What was truly outstanding, though, was the service.

After arriving at the hunting lodge exhausted and cold without a reservation, we received a warm welcome, and they even found a seat for the two of us. The ambiance in our room was small and cozy, and we immediately felt at home. The food exceeded all our expectations, and we were even given a brief introduction to their philosophy, which impressed us greatly (as were the guests at the other tables). The service was friendly, courteous, and prompt, with a warm welcome, without being intrusive. High praise! All in all, this stay perfectly rounded off our day. We would love to come back, but only with a reservation :)

If you're visiting Allgäu and Oberstdorf for the first time, you should definitely visit this cozy restaurant. We wanted a rustic, cozy atmosphere and traditional, local cuisine. The Jagdhaus was a perfect fit. There were two of us there on a Saturday evening, and it was packed, but we only had to wait a maximum of 35 minutes for our food, which is perfectly acceptable to me. The service, who were stylishly dressed, were always friendly and made every effort to ensure you didn't miss anything. We'll be back again and again.

We stumbled upon it by chance while hiking 😊. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic. It was quick, and the server was very friendly despite being rushed. They also offer something for those with a small appetite. If we pass by again, we'll definitely go back.

After the hike, we stopped for a beer. We found a nice, shady spot outside.

The Jagdhaus is something different, setting itself apart from other restaurants in Oberstdorf in a very pleasant way. The atmosphere where kings once dined has been somehow preserved, creating a natural feeling of well-being. The service is highly motivated and friendly, the drinks and food are worthy of royalty, and the game is a real treat. Prices are on the mid-to-high side. A spacious outdoor area completes the experience. We had to stop there twice within a week and will be back again.

...After 28 years of living, I'm writing my first restaurant review because I'm really pissed off. Like many others, it seems. We ate here two years ago, and everything was great. So great, in fact, that we came back to Oberstdorf just for it. Today was a complete disaster. Terrible service, and the food wasn't much different from cafeteria fare. A complete waste of money and time. If the place continues like this and the customers have the guts, the owner should either sell it, close it down, or rethink what he wants to stand for and change something. Things can't go on the way they are now... Please spend your money somewhere else.

We visited the hunting lodge as part of a wedding. In addition to the rustic and typical local ambiance, the hunting lodge impressed us with its excellent service. The baby's bottle was graciously warmed to the perfect temperature in a water bath, so we were able to leave our own warmer with us. A small toy was also provided to keep even the youngest guests entertained. The food was delicious, plentiful, and good value for money.

An exciting restaurant concept with excellent food! The restaurant serves rustic dishes of the highest quality. The highlight: The food is exclusively (!) regional, meaning there's no pepper or lemon in the entire restaurant, as these ingredients aren't native to Germany. This means, in turn, that the dishes must possess a certain level of flavor and quality from the ground up, as a key ingredient in seasoning is deliberately omitted. We had veal schnitzel and cold roast (as an appetizer). The cold roast was like a carpaccio meets vitello tonnato with mustard and pickles. Simply delicious. The veal schnitzel was Munich-style, brushed with mild mustard before being breaded. Served with butter and horseradish, as well as cranberries. 10 out of 10, it was extremely tender and generous.

We were in the restaurant in the evening. The ambiance was very pleasant, a blend of elegance and tradition. Fine food and excellent service. We would be happy to return.

Another review: Our visit to the beer garden on August 10, 2025 was unfortunately disappointing. The otherwise delicious schnitzel with fries was totally bland, the breading was soft and soggy, and the fries were fried like they were the second time. The sausage salad was also far too bland and dry. The head waitress... she should stop reprimanding and lecturing the guests. What a pity... The Jagdhaus has the most beautiful beer garden for miles around!!! You sit there so comfortably and linger in complete relaxation. The food is plentiful and very good. The service, except for one "older gentleman," is very friendly and attentive. Everything goes very quickly, despite the large number of guests. We'll gladly come back again and again. ;-)

Unfortunately, the waiter was very snippy and unfriendly. I understand that he was responsible for far too many tables on his own – but that's not the customer's fault. Unfortunately, he didn't calm down over the course of the afternoon. The same thing happened to the table next door shortly afterward. Unfortunately, the beer didn't arrive until we'd already finished eating. That's unacceptable. It's a shame, because the food was truly amazing.

The Jagdhaus delivers 100% on its promise. In addition to truly outstanding service, we had fantastic food! From now on, the Jagdhaus is on our must-eat list for our next visit to Oberstdorf.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit. The food was okay, but not top-notch, as one might expect given the high prices. The bread was more soggy than crispy, and the potato salad was mushy and probably came from a bucket. The schnitzel was very thin and consisted mostly of breadcrumbs. The portions were more suitable for seniors than for hungry hikers.

The root vegetables consisted of three small pieces of carrot and countless diced potatoes floating in the sauce. Potatoes are NOT root vegetables, and what's the point? They came with potato dumplings. Either the name on the menu or the side dish should be changed.

Very cozy and pleasant atmosphere! We sat outside and enjoyed apple strudel, bottled water, and beer. The price was a bit high, and there were too many raisins in the strudel—but we'd be happy to come back!

Delicious, not-so-cheap good cuisine in a special setting

We chose this restaurant for dinner during our hiking holiday, not least because of the Google reviews. It was busy, and luckily we managed to get a seat in the beer garden without a reservation. The food and service were good. The portion sizes were modest, but the prices were high.

There were four of us there and we were looking forward to a cozy evening. The menu is concise, but chic and good. Upon request, we were given a children's menu. When ordering, the children were served spritzer instead of juice, but this was replaced upon request. It can happen, no big deal. The venison goulash with dumplings tasted okay, but unfortunately, it arrived only lukewarm, and the dumplings were quite soft. We ordered the "giant portion" of pancakes from the children's menu for our children – at €12 (similar to a schnitzel with fries), we were expecting a main course. However, we were served a single crêpe (not a pancake). Unfortunately, it wasn't "giant" either – it was very disappointing. Overall, the visit wasn't what we had hoped for. We wouldn't recommend the restaurant for families.

A wonderful restaurant with a fantastic beer garden. The perfect cuisine and great beer to go with it. Simply perfect!

We went to the beer garden. It's a nice place to sit, mostly in the shade under an umbrella. You can, of course, have a beer. As is the case elsewhere in Oberstdorf, they don't dare break the €5 barrier. A half-liter costs 4.90. The food is okay. Vegetables are largely nonexistent. There aren't even any garnishes. So, two schnitzels and fries on the plate. That's it. Nothing to go with the venison stew either: no leaves, no cranberries. It looks a bit pathetic. Hence only 3 stars. It's not the service's fault; it was friendly and quick.

It's been a long time since I've eaten this well! As soon as you enter this stylishly decorated restaurant, you can tell that the heart and soul of the place has gone into it. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and perfectly matches its name – rustic, but with its own twist. A beautiful restaurant that immediately creates a feel-good atmosphere. From a culinary perspective, "Das Jagdthaus" is a true experience. From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was intensely flavorful, finely seasoned, and prepared with attention to detail. The kitchen conjures up classic dishes of the highest quality. Locally sourced ingredients are also used – a fantastic concept that's sure to impress. The prices are a bit high, but rightly so! The quality, service, and the harmonious overall experience fully justify this. Anyone who appreciates good food will more than get their money's worth here. I'd love to return – and soon!

It was our first time at the Jagdhaus. When we arrived, the lunch rush was over, and it was noticeable throughout the beer garden. Dishes and glasses everywhere. Okay, it was a holiday and the Corpus Christi procession. It was busy. The two waitresses were very attentive, but as we later found out, it was their first time on duty. Respect for that. We opted for the schnitzel with potato salad from the daily special for €17. Unfortunately, the roast on the extra menu was sold out, as it was from the day before. We also ordered a side salad for €5.80. The food was delicious! The salad was okay, but boring. No cucumber or tomatoes. Oh well. When the bill came, we were surprised. Why was the schnitzel suddenly €22.50? When we asked, we were told that this offer was only for guests who had participated in the Corpus Christi procession. 😩 Well, we felt a bit ripped off. We cycled 60 km and deserved a schnitzel. What a shame 🧐 In my opinion, there are better places in Oberstdorf.

Fantastic food – we really enjoyed it. The menu is small, but therefore exquisite. A particular highlight was the venison goulash, hearty, juicy, and aromatic. Thank you!

Great atmosphere with even better service. The service was very attentive, and all the recommendations were top-notch. They have high chairs and art supplies. The food is very, very good, and everything is fresh and very well-cooked. I recommend the goulash; it's tender as butter and a dream. We'll definitely be back ❤️

A very nice beer garden with very friendly staff. We only enjoyed the drinks; the food will follow on our next visit. The food served to the tables looked very delicious.
