The food was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. Although reservations aren't possible, we didn't have to wait. (We were there at the end of October.)

We ordered takeout for four people today. A 35-minute wait was still acceptable, but the portions (pasta) were very small, even for our children (the bowl was only half full). In total, we had to pay almost €70, which bears no relation to the food delivered, neither in quantity nor quality. We will visit other restaurants in the future. 😔

We ate here today with two adults and two children and received a very warm welcome. After choosing a free table and sitting down, our children were immediately offered art supplies to keep them busy and thus "shorten" the wait – a truly wonderful gesture. The menus were brought promptly. Since we have allergies, the chef personally took the time to explain the ingredients and allergens in detail. This allowed us to order without hesitation. The service was overall very quick and attentive, and the children didn't have to wait long for their food either. All the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and absolutely fair in price – excellent value for money. An all-round successful visit; we'd love to come back!

The service is friendly, and the owners always try to act like friends. That doesn't disguise the mediocre quality of the food, though. It's not bad, but just okay – and that's simply not enough for the prices. Neither in terms of quality nor quantity. You can get better pizza on the island, though. Ultimately, this is a tourist restaurant. They quickly serve people simple dishes, charge a high price, and then leave, because the next person is already waiting.

Great restaurant! Small but nice. Reservations aren't possible (the restaurant probably doesn't need them, as it's always very busy), and card payments aren't accepted (perhaps a minor drawback). The service is excellent, the owner is very friendly and always has a good joke ready 😊 There were three of us, and everyone had a different menu. Everyone was delighted. The food and drinks came quickly, and so did the bill; there was no long wait. Unlike many other restaurants on Norderney, the prices here are still reasonable! I'd go back anytime 🤗

6/5. My first Google review because the place is worth it. We were there with a three-year-old and a stroller, including a 6-month-old. It didn't bother anyone, and they understood the word "service." We had to wait a short 10 minutes outside for a free table, but we had a super relaxed evening with the family, including great children's portions and art supplies.

We enjoyed it very, very much. Large portions. Excellent value for money. The owners run their shop with heart and soul. We felt very welcome. Before we leave, we'll treat ourselves to another pasta dish.

Absolutely delicious. Here, guests are truly guests, and the owners are very friendly. A little louder, but the cozy, somewhat cramped interior creates a pleasant atmosphere. Reasonably priced for the island, with a large selection. The portions are a bit small for a glutton like me, but they're incredibly tasty. After 8 p.m., you'll definitely be able to snag a table. Payment is cash only. Suitable for children, and dogs are allowed.

The service was very good and friendly! The pizza was delicious but quite small. The pasta portion was also good, but the amount was simply very small for almost €16!!. The children's portion of schnitzel with fries wasn't really that special; the fries themselves weren't that great, and the schnitzel also came from a deep fryer. So, all in all, I didn't think the price-performance ratio was good.

Everything about this restaurant sounded great, and we were eager to spend a pleasant evening there—until we opened the front door and saw a sign saying "No card payments, cash only." We then left, and another restaurant took our money. Hence this neutral review.

Our favorite restaurant. Keep up the good work and stay the way you are. Update 2025 It's still wonderful: come in, feel good, eat delicious food, and be entertained. One of the few restaurants where you don't have to reserve. Sometimes there's a slight wait, but you always get a table.

Only those who are not hungry or want to spend a lot of money on an additional starter will do well here. Even the extremely friendly innkeeper with his professional charm cannot hide this.

Food was okay so far. The staff mostly friendly. Several guests sat in the restaurant this evening wearing winter jackets because many of the windows were open despite the cold outside temperature. We ourselves and several neighboring tables asked to close the windows. In vain. The waiters and waitresses explained that the manager had forbidden the windows to be closed because otherwise the staff would quickly become too warm. That's not how you treat guests. My suspicion, since we have been guests several times and the indoor temperature has never been noticed negatively so far: To get rid of the guests in the restaurant as quickly as possible on the Easter weekend so that no one stays seated longer than necessary in order to increase sales by quickly reallocating the tables. (On Good Friday, guests lined up in front of the restaurant to wait for tables to become available)

They said the food would be ready at 6:00 p.m., it was there at 5:55 p.m. and the food was just being packed... I ordered for 7 people and while I was packing it I was offered a beer for free! All around just great

Went there for the first time...after a bit of a long wait we arrived...nice reception...my salad didn't taste like anything, it was too watery because the iceberg was too wet...I found the pizza too thick and without any taste...the base with the toppings was too wobbly and soggy...the Hawaiian one wasn't that good either...or is it all a matter of taste?? I don't know her like that

Tasty a bit tight but otherwise good

Nice evening, good pizza, good service, nice group with 3 tables, it's a shame only the first table gets schnapps on the house one after the other from the host, then the next table pays, of course they also get a schnapps on the house, then it was our turn, it was promised, we waited longer and then said goodbye. But things in the kitchen were more important than the guests.

Wir waren mit Freunden im Februar 25’ zu Gast im Michelangelo. Ich muss zugeben die Schlangen vor dem Restaurant haben mich immer abgeschreckt. Aber dieses Mal wollten wir uns selbst überzeugen, also standen wir in der Schlange. Später drinnen war die Geräuschkulisse unheimlich laut. Wir gehen viel Essen aber dort haben wir uns, was die Lautstärke betraf, sehr unwohl gefühlt. Wir hatten Spagetti Bolognese und verschiedene Pizzen (die ja immer hochgelobt wurden). Aber wir waren sehr enttäuscht, denn die Pizza glich geschmacklich der einer TK Pizza und nicht mehr und in der Bolognesesauce waren nur Hackfleischkrümmel zu finden. Achja, die Getränke waren zum Teil abgestanden und ohne Kohlensäure. Der Besuch war dann doch eher enttäuschend für uns!

Definitely not recommended... What a failure... Pizza: the size of a senior citizen's cellar. Bottom small, completely soggy, mass of cheap cheese. Why do you put tons of regular cheese on a sheep's cheese pizza? Pollock with fried potatoes: Fatty, soft fried potatoes with bacon. Bacon wasn't on the menu, not an option for vegetarians. Fish was OK. Our complaint was received very friendly. We were given a tiramisu, which we actually had to leave due to the poor quality. (Artificial cream sprayed around a dry ladyfingers. Neither the taste nor the look was reminiscent of a tiramisu)... We have never eaten such bad pizza and such bad tiramisu!! We left the store hungry and went to eat somewhere else. Conclusion: absolute no go!

We recently spent a wonderful evening at Ristorante Michelangelo on Norderney. It was highly recommended to us by friends - and we were not disappointed! For main courses we chose fish and a pasta with shrimps. Both were excellently prepared, with plenty of flavor and in just the right portion size. Finally, we treated ourselves to homemade tiramisu and a chocolate mousse. Both desserts were to die for and rounded off our dinner perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We can recommend Michelangelo to anyone who wants to have a delicious meal on Norderney!

Nie wieder! Pizza: Größe eines Seniorentellers, Boden klein, völlig durchgeweicht, Masse an billigem Käse. Warum macht man auf einer Schafskäse-Pizza Tonnen an normalem Käse drauf? Seelachs mit Bratkartoffeln: fettige weiche Bratkartoffeln mit Speck. Der Speck stand nicht mit auf der Karte, für Vegetarier keine Option. Fisch war ok. Unsere Beschwerde wurde sehr freundlich entgegengenommen. Wir bekamen ein Tiramisu, was wir eigentlich aufgrund der schlechten Qualität hätten stehen lassen müssen (Kunstsahne um ein trockenes Löffelbiskuit herumgesprüht. Weder Geschmack noch Optik erinnerten an ein Tiramisu) Wir haben noch nie so eine schlechte Pizza und so ein schlechtes Tiramisu gegessen. Hungrig haben wir den Laden verlassen und waren noch woanders essen. Fazit: Absolutes No Go!

Ein Italiener mit durchschnittlicher Küche, der leider zur Garde der Kartenverweigerer gehört. Warum wohl? Es ist hinlänglich bekannt, dass in Deutschland jährlich durch die Gastronomie 70 Milliarden Euro an Steuer hinterlegen werden. Ehrliche Kunden sollten diese Gastronomien meiden.

Mega friendly service and funny hosts. A bit "smoky" and foggy on our visit due to the pizza oven... the clothes definitely needed a wash afterwards.

The staff very friendly. The food is normal. However, if you're expecting parmesan, there's just a plain gratin cheese.

Unser Besuch im Restaurant Michelangelo war die größte Enttäuschung seit Langem. Das Lokal ist maßlos überbewertet und völlig überteuert – wir bereuen jeden Cent, den wir dort gelassen haben. Schon bei der Ankunft ging es los: 40 Minuten mussten wir draußen in der Kälte stehen, weil eine riesige Schlange vor der Tür war. Die anderen Wartenden schwärmten von der „besten Pizza aller Zeiten,“ und wir dachten, das lange Warten und die hohen Preise würden sich vielleicht lohnen. Leider wurden wir völlig enttäuscht. Im Restaurant selbst war es dann chaotisch, laut und überfüllt – eine Atmosphäre, in der man sich keineswegs wohlfühlt. Trotz der überzogenen Preise kann man hier nicht mal mit Karte zahlen, sodass wir erstmal zur Bank laufen mussten. Für ein Restaurant mit solchen Ansprüchen absolut unakzeptabel. Dann die Preise: Die Pizza kostete zwischen 18 und 20 Euro und war absolut durchschnittlich – kaum besser als eine Tiefkühlpizza. Die Pasta lag ebenfalls zwischen 18 und 20 Euro und war genauso enttäuschend. Mein Salat war der Gipfel der Frechheit: Für 6 Euro bekam ich eine Schale trockenen Blattsalat mit einem Hauch von Dressing, ein paar lieblos geviertelten Tomaten und einer einzigen Gurkenscheibe. Dafür überhaupt Geld zu verlangen, ist schon dreist. Die Getränke waren auch nicht besser: Der Aperol hatte keinerlei Sprudel, schmeckte abgestanden.

The boss has his shop under control - service works smoothly. Unfortunately the kitchen has no connection to this - the pizzas are unfortunately missing everything and are topped with raw peppers, raw onions and possibly mushrooms - which have only been sliced. It's a shame - we weren't satisfied. Cheffe noticed it and reacted quite well - that made us a little more lenient - but we don't want to give him a 2 . give chance.

The pizzas are really not recommended. It had nothing to do with Italian pizza. The spinach was completely tasteless, probably just thawed and put on the pizza….. The onions and peppers were almost still raw……basil or oregano was also missing…..hot Asian sauce was used?!?…. Service was good and great atmosphere. However, we would have preferred delicious pizzas. :( too bad

Very nice service, but the food couldn't keep up. The pizza was extremely thinly topped and not very tasty for the quite high price. The rich salad with tuna...unfortunately lacked any pizzazz. We probably won't come back.

Very child-friendly restaurant with children's dishes on the menu. Immediately after arrival we received coloring pages and pens. Our pizzas were delicious and even though it was very busy we didn't have to wait long. The service is extremely well-rehearsed, helpful, friendly, funny and all around perfect. We were guests here for the first time in July last year and if we come back to Norderney we will definitely be guests here again 😀

So first of all: Absolutely delicious! Maybe even the best pizza on the island. The location: basically in the middle of town, right at an intersection. Outdoor seating is available but very limited. But it's not necessary, it's very comfortable inside. If you sit on the window side facing the Herrenpfad (yes, that's really what the street is called...), you can watch the pizzaiolo prepare the pizza, very entertaining. The service: plentiful and quick. You almost have the feeling that you could be served by two people at the same time. As soon as one of them has left, the other is there (in this case the boss himself) and makes sure that something has already happened here. But it doesn't come across as intrusive at all, it's actually rather amusing. Boss always has something entertaining to say, which is really fun. The food: The pizza is very well topped and baked fantastically, the dough is perfect. Craftsmanship in perfection! Very tasty and also plentiful, A plus with a star. A chocolate mousse with plenty of vanilla sauce for dessert? Or a tiramisu? Dare, you won't regret anything (or maybe you will, depending on what your character says about it...). In the end, the price of the whole thing is probably a little above what you might be used to at home, but not nearly as dramatically as the general Norderney experience might have led you to expect. There are completely different monetary advances here on the island when it comes to physical supplies! All in all, definitely recommended, full marks from me! Ben fatto, continue like this!

When we are on Norderney, we can't walk past Michelangelo without stopping off (dogs are welcome). It's a well-run family business, which you can tell from the fact that the boss is always there... Service is very important here. The service is super nice and quick. You don't have to wait long for the food either. The atmosphere is very cozy. We have been there many times now and have never been disappointed and are already looking forward to the next time.

Unfortunately, pizzas are becoming smaller and more expensive. But taste good! Service very attentive and nice. This time not even the children were fed up with a "big" pizza. Too bad. We have been going to Norderney for 10 years and Michelangelo has always been our regular restaurant. The last few years have diminished more and more. We will look for another Italian on the island in the future.

The pizza used to be over the edge of the plate and now it has become tiny and the dough is very thin. In addition, the vegetables like the peppers on the pizza were still raw. For these prices you would expect more. Even the children couldn't get enough of an adult's pizza

We have been coming to the island for 10 years and have only now eaten at Michelangelo's for the first time. Now we keep asking ourselves why we didn't do this sooner. Super nice team, super delicious food! The staff is always on the ball and super friendly. Table reservations are not possible, but you never have to wait long and you get a table. If it actually takes a little longer, every minute of waiting is worth it! Really highly recommended! We often went out to eat with a larger group and each time afterwards we talked about the friendly and quick service and the great taste of all the dishes. From now on it will definitely be an item on our to-do list at least once per stay. P.s.: ordering from home was also a complete success! We'll meet Again!

In the evening we decided to get food there and eat it at home due to the crowds in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the portions were very small and didn't even come close to justifying the price. 16€ for a portion of pasta, which I get for half price at a snack bar around the corner - the same for the pizza! In terms of taste, it's also not a hit from an aluminum bowl. Maybe it's different locally - but I can't recommend ordering something to take away from home. 65€ for an order in which four people were still hungry and for which, as described above, I would have paid perhaps half at the snack bar around the corner. Unfortunately very disappointing.

Die Pizzeria Michelangelo ist mehr als nur eine einfache Pizzerian. Ich habe hier die besten Gambas in Knoblauchöl aller Zeiten gegessen! Sie haben dort ein perfektes Rezept dafür. Auch den Kindern haben Pizza und Pasta super geschmeckt. Wir werden auf jeden Fall beim nächsten Inselbesuch wiederkommen. Auch der Service war sehr freundlich: obwohl es pickepacke voll war, hatten Bedienung und Restaurantleitung ein Lächeln auf den Lippen und waren ausgesprochen freundlich und nett zu allen. Vielen Dank auch dafür! Und Kompliment an die Küche.

It was our favorite restaurant for a long time when we lived on the island and still is when we visit Norderney. The food is always great, the entire staff is very friendly and always has a funny saying. We like to come back every time and recommend trying out every Michelangelo.
