Dino's Osteria in Norderney

Hey there, Norderney! I was here again today. The service hasn't changed since my last visit, which I think is fantastic. I always thought it might be a flash in the pan, but no, it's amazing quality and great service. The prices are quite reasonable for Norderney. No pizzas over €16, that's a real plus. A lively place, good pizza, good pasta, good wine. A must whenever we're on the island, because it's simply fun…

The food was delicious (pizzas and bruschetta), the portions were good, and the staff (head waiter) were very friendly and efficient. We felt very comfortable here.

Carbonara with fresh tuna and Sardinian caviar! Amazing!

We went there three times during our week-long vacation because we felt so comfortable in the atmosphere and the food was simply delicious! The pizzas are fantastic, and we especially loved the desserts. The service is a small drawback; when it's very busy, you sometimes have to wait a bit longer for a waiter to come to your table. But all in all, it's a really great little restaurant with lots of charm.

The pizza is highly recommended. Since we had a table by the door, it was a bit drafty. The service for the first drink and meal was excellent, but after that, it was difficult to get anyone's attention.

We order takeout here by phone, they confirm our order details, and then they don't follow through. Every time, I get something different from what I ordered. It's tiring. The food is good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired!

Unfortunately, we took the pizza with us, so we didn't have a chance to take a closer look at the ambiance. But: It was the best pizza we've had in a long time. The ingredients are fresh and not from a jar, real cooked ham, simply top-notch. The prices here, around €15, are also reasonable, and definitely unbeatable for the quality.

I was there today at 12 o'clock, the good man was portioning out his pizza dough, as I wasn't that hungry I wanted a small pizza, which is also available according to the menu. I ordered and was told "it's not possible, we only have dough for large pizzas", awesome statement, honestly, respect! And now find the mistake, since I'm already rolling out the dough I can reduce the portion, when I pointed this out to them I was told that's not possible, nothing more I need to say 😂 I ordered one anyway, well it wasn't that great, was sent off with the statement "see you next time, or maybe not".. Service is terrible!!

The five stars are for the pizzas. For us, the best we've had on Norderney so far. We've had better lasagna on the island, though. The service was friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. However, people with short legs might have some difficulty sitting at the high tables.

Yes, we've been here twice. The pizza has a thin, crisp crust and delicious toppings—spicy is definitely spicy. Today, the carbonara with fresh tuna and Sardinian caviar was a revelation. Thank you.

The staff were in a bad mood and literally said they didn't feel like working. Unfortunately, you didn't feel welcome at all. The pizza was okay.

The ambiance is very nice, but since the pizza ovens are directly behind the diners, it's very hot in the restaurant. It's unpleasant. However, the waitress opened the windows. The atmosphere is very relaxed and pleasant, with a diverse clientele. There are high tables with a bench by the window and bar stools, as well as beautiful, large wooden tables for seating. Very tastefully decorated! The service is very pleasant, extremely friendly, and fast. The salads and pizzas are exceptionally delicious. The crusts are beautifully fluffy yet crispy, and there are great topping combinations.

Pizza Quattro Formaggi, probably a complete disaster yesterday. Lots of cheese on a rubbery pizza, no crispiness at all, unfortunately. The service also lacked a sense of politeness. "Please, thank you?" 😅Probably not, thank you, we were allowed to order.

The pizza tastes very good, but unfortunately, they don't adhere to their opening hours. They close at 10 p.m., even though they're open until 10:30 p.m. That's not nice!

Quite okay, the service could be better.

We were there two days ago at 7 p.m. and wanted to have dinner with our two children (1 and 4 years old). We were asked to leave the restaurant because children weren't allowed. We could have sat outside at a table that was set aside. I don't think we would have disturbed anyone there. The other guests who witnessed this incident were also speechless.

The pizzas are first-class. Thin crust, but well-topped. The prices are OK for Norderney. Why only 4 stars? The people here are quite friendly, but absolutely NOT welcoming! The waitress apparently can't smile at any customer, at any of them. If you ask a customer if they enjoyed their meal, you should also listen to their answer! While I praised the pizza, the waitress looked around with complete disinterest. There was no reaction, no thank you, and no eye contact. That's a real shame (but the tourist probably won't be coming back anyway). I actually wanted to deduct 2 stars, but that doesn't do the pizza justice. One more thing. Starting on Thursdays, you unfortunately have to deal with the (drinking) clubs there (like everywhere on the island). It often gets unpleasantly loud, especially in this small restaurant.

Prices on Norderney are steep, so we decided to give Dinos Osteria a try, even though they also charge a reasonable price. The restaurant is clearly geared toward tourism and only caters to one-time customers, as you won't find any high-quality food here, or at least the aesthetic presentation of cheaper alternatives. We ordered: -Mixed bruschetta (=4 small slices of baguette, one topped with pickled tomatoes, the rest thickly spread with supermarket spreads. One of them was, for example, natural cream cheese, as the server confirmed. WTF. €8.50) -Small side salad (=iceberg lettuce with 2 slices of cucumber, 4 halved cherry tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, served in a small bowl about the size of a hand. €5.50) -Spaghetti carbonara (=cold, despite the small number of guests. The portion size was okay, but it was garnished with standard diced bacon, which, according to the server, is actually fried at lunchtime for the whole day. LOL. You could taste it. €13.50) Bon Appetito

We ordered pizza to go to enjoy in our apartment. The pizzas were delicious and prepared quite quickly, and the staff was very friendly. A definite pizza recommendation!

If you want to eat one of the best pizzas on Norderney, then you've come to the right place. It's best to take it with you and eat it on the beach.

Very tasty pizzas and appetizers. Very attentive service with fully occupied tables and many people picking up items. No waiting times and good, fair prices. Everything is great! 100% recommendation.

Sorry in advance, my recession is getting longer.😁 First of all, the most important thing, the positive. There were 5 of us, we had different pizzas, spaghetti and tortellini and everyone unanimously agreed that it tasted great and was worth the wait. But then the negative, which is very annoying and something they have to work on. We brought the food to the apartment and called ahead. Since the island was full, we had expected to be told there would be a longer waiting time and were of course pleasantly surprised when we were told a waiting time of 30 minutes. When we got to the pizzeria, there was a long line waiting for us and many people were already complaining because they had been waiting for over an hour. And everyone got the same information, waiting time 30 minutes. There were also some who asked for their money back and left. What's more, of course, there were guests who came to eat on site, sat down and received their food after barely 10 minutes. You can't do that. Why don't you say straight away on the phone that the waiting time is e.g. 1 hour? Then of course some people will think, no, that's too long for me and not order, but then they won't be upset. You guys have to work on it, but like I said, the taste and quality are great.

There are children's pizzas on the take-out menu, but when you order today you received an answer: Not available today! I don't understand, it's the Easter holidays, families with children are here, so why aren't children's pizzas being made?!? We find it rude, dubious and not family-friendly! It can happen that you have to wait an hour because an oven is broken - but then to say that no children's pizza is made, even though it is on the take-away menu - OUTRAGEOUS!

We received a very warm welcome, even though we only got there after 9 p.m. when most people had already closed the kitchen. The waiter was very attentive and we felt absolutely comfortable and taken care of. The food was great, typically Italian, just great. Always my pleasure. Definitely worth a visit

Wir wollten als Familie dort essen gehen und haben es gewagt, uns an einen von drei freien Tischen zu setzen, nachdem wir mehrere Minuten an der Tür gewartet haben - wir wurden super laut (!) und absolut unverschämt weggeschickt.. ebenso wie die nächsten Gäste die es wagten durch die Tür zu kommen: ,Ohne Reservierung können Sie direkt wieder gehen!‘ Schade - es roch wirklich toll!

Today we ate at Dinos Osteria. We had reserved a table in advance. We opted for the Bruschetta Mix and the Prosciuto, Salame, and Funghi and Carloforte pizzas. The food was delicious. We received good service, even though the place was really busy. Great 👍

We had reserved a table today at 6:00 p.m. and were standing in front of a dark shop. Thanks for nothing. Afterwards we had an excellent meal in the Friedrich restaurant!

We ate on site. Starter still frozen (carpaccio), pizza toppings and sauce good, dough unfortunately hard, kneaded to death (!) and partly very burnt. Waiter was a bit unfriendly. The greeting was “make a reservation next time”. When we entered there were only 2 tables occupied. The couple who entered with us were given free choice of seating, without prior reservation. There was no response to criticism regarding the burnt pizza, only a short "OK" and a cheeky exchange between the waiter and the chef, including a smile (the restaurant is small and yes, as a guest you can hear when there is chatter at the other end). There is clearly less emphasis on service quality there because you are probably always busy due to tourism anyway. Overall mediocre.

I've never had a calzone like this before, the tomato sauce was extra, I was very skeptical, but respect, it was super delicious! The service was very friendly despite the stress, it was unbelievable what was going on, it simply speaks for itself Update October 31, 2024 unfortunately really bad! This time the tomato sauce for the calzone was cold, when I asked the only answer was: I'm the boss and it's always like that here, I knew it differently (he wasn't interested in anything), but he's the boss after all! I also got it much later and probably didn't have time for my pizza anymore... Sad!!! Definitely the last time for me...

We had reserved a table, which is recommended as the seats are limited (small). Open kitchen with friendly and uncomplicated staff. Food and drinks very tasty. We immediately reserved a table for another evening. 👍👍👍

Went in without a reservation, got a seat and enjoyed a really excellent pizza. Nice, somewhat casual service. Prices for wine quite excessive, the portion Bruschetta for €7.50, for example, also seems a bit over-motivated, but overall the shop is somewhat recommendable despite the rather uncomfortable high chairs.

Früher mal beste Pizza der Insel. Heute zwei zum Mitnehmen bestellt: Rand verbrannt, Belag geizig und lieblos verstreut- dafür 15 Euro zu verlangen ist schon dreist. Nie wieder.

With a lot of luck we got a place for two without a reservation. The service was super friendly, service was top! The food was absolutely fantastic (penne with salmon and arrabiata), salad totally fresh, house wine was a delight and value for money was unbeatable. The ambience you would expect from an Italian restaurant. We will definitely come again during our vacation!

Nice little pizzeria with really, really good pizzas. Nice service. Some creative toppings like figs or oranges. But very, very tasty. And at reasonable prices.

Rarely have I experienced something as bad as this... First we waited an hour for the starter and then my pregnant friend was made a pizza with the wrong toppings. Our suggestion that a fresh hollandaise sauce on top (which was not in the description of the pizza) was a bit stupid for a pregnant woman was only laughed at and the boss didn't want to make us a new pizza. We were also not allowed to order new pizza. So really bad, never again...

Small... But also nice Coming spontaneously, even just the two of us in the evenings, difficult to get a table. I was just picking it up myself, I noticed. Still a very friendly atmosphere, praise to the team for managing this. On the subject of pizza: as a NRW resident, I wanted Diavola, something spicy. I got Pizza Mafiosa, !, absolutely delicious!!! Great, with pieces of pepper that are firm to the bite, not too hot peppers but with a good taste. I really enjoyed the pizza on the promenade at sunset. Price of the pizza: salted - but value = island surcharge ;) As mentioned - without a reservation you will also be rejected in the evening because there are a limited number of tables.

The restaurant was recommended to us by a taxi driver. The wine was very tasty and so was our food. The other dishes on the menu also sounded great, especially the interesting combinations. As soon as we are back on Norderney, we will be back at Dino.

I ordered three pizzas to pick up from Dinos Osteria. The lady behind the counter didn't even look at me, didn't greet me and walked past me 9 times without even asking me what I wanted. The pizzas were cold and, to be honest, not particularly good. Never again!!!

Sie möchten sich einmal richtig unsichtbar fühlen? Dann planen Sie einen Besuch in Dinos Osteria! Beim Versuch eine Reservierung zu machen wurde meine Frau satte 20 Minuten ignoriert. Man steht vor der Theke und das geschäftige Treiben läuft weiter und weiter bis sich endlich jemand erbarmt. 2 Tage später pünktlich zur reservierten Zeit steht man dann wieder vor der Theke wie der letzte Störenfried und wird ignoriert. Da ist mir dann der Appetit vollends abhanden gekommen. Das Essen ist o.k. mehr nicht. Ich weiss nicht auf was man sich hier was einbildet. So wenig willkommen gefühlt als Gast habe ich mich ewig nicht mehr. Gut dass es in geringer Distanz sehr gute Alternativen zu dieser arroganten bude gibt.

In itself a cute shop, cozy and nice atmosphere, which is however disturbed by the totally stressed and unfriendly waitress (who, in her defense, has to serve all the tables herself). It would probably help to allocate another force for peak season and weekend evenings. Unfortunately, the food was also very disappointing: the Frutti di mare pizza was no better than a frozen pizza and the carpaccio only tasted of the very bitter olive oil in which it was soaked. It's a shame, because the good reviews promised otherwise.

We ordered pizzas to take away yesterday. It was very crowded, but it was easy to wait outside. Payment is only possible with EC card or cash - not with credit card. When we opened the pizza on the beach, two out of four pizzas were badly (!!) burnt. In one case it was so strong that you couldn't even eat the edge (see picture). We would have returned the pizza directly to the restaurant and were very annoyed that they simply gave the pizza away. Next time we will go to a different pizzeria because almost €15 for such a badly burnt pizza is very expensive

Service is a disaster: you are ignored for 15 minutes after you come in. Maybe because we were there with children. Should have given zero stars. We can't rate food - we shouldn't get any. If you want a very tasty pizza and want to be treated kindly, go to Dino's Pizza two streets away.

We were happy that we got a seat at around 6 p.m. Unfortunately, we were consistently ignored for a quarter of an hour and the card wasn't even brought to us. I can't determine whether it was because of our 4 years of sunshine. However, there was no other family in the restaurant. It wasn't due to a lack of eye contact. The service ladies noticed us because we specifically asked if there was a reservation. We left. Too bad. Had an appetite for specialties. But other restaurateurs can do it (better).

Unfriendly staff and if you have made a reservation, they don't honor it and so a meal with the family falls through. It's a real shame when you're hungry and the whole family is together

The ambience of this place is more like a drunkard's bar. Reserved seats are taken over by drunk people even after they have been reserved, which means they can no longer be used. The staff very unfriendly. No attention was paid to anyone (90 year old person present). You are shown the door and that's it, actually zero stars but unfortunately that's not possible.

I came into the restaurant to ask if something was free for one person (5:10 p.m.), I was told that there were only two tables left (everything outside was empty and there were still 3 tables left inside). In addition, the staff was totally unfriendly and very arrogant when it came to looks. Food was okay but not earth-shattering. Inside you sat not even 1 meter away from the neighboring table. I prefer to recommend other restaurants that also deserve tips.

Essen ist in Ordnung, aber nicht überragend; wir hatten einen Tisch um 20:00 Uhr; es war viel los, also war die Wartezeit Okay; ab circa 21:30 Uhr waren die Mitarbeiter nur mehr mit Zusammenräumen beschäftigt, es wurde an den Tischen nicht mehr bedient; zum Bezahlen musste man zur Theke gehen; Zahlung nur in bar oder EC-Karte (hat keiner mehr); das Personal und der Chef reagierten nur überheblich; so sollte ein relativ junger Gastronomiebetrieb nicht geführt werden; Sehr schade!

Takeaway pizzas, 1x mafia and 1x vegetables, both very tasty. Great, pretty restaurant, but as some have already written, the tables inside are too narrow.

As a non-pizza fan, I can really say that the pizza was very good. I wasn't the only one who enjoyed the pizza. The seagull behind me too 😃. If you want a small pizza, you should order a children's pizza, otherwise there is only one size. Pre-order recommendation. Card payment possible.

Essen lecker und preislich ok. Was gar nicht geht nach etwa 1Std. 15 mit Vor-, Haupt- und Nachspeise mit Espresso und Grappa ( noch voll) unaufgefordert die Rechnung präsentiert zu bekommen mit der Bemerkung „sie müssen jetzt zahlen, wir brauchen den Tisch!“

Great, bustling, tasty, price/performance completely okay, nice employees with a very pleasant tone among each other. We'd love to come back. Everything I've eaten here so far has been highly recommended and we eat something different every time.

Really a great pizzeria, but in my opinion it's much too narrow there. You hardly sit 10 centimeters away from your neighbor's table. And when you sit on the bar stools it's not comfortable either. You can't stay that long anyway. I noticed several times that seats had to be vacated because they were reserved. But, clearly, the food and service were great.

Pizza and pasta are recommended. Be sure to reserve. Unfortunately, as is often the case on the island, only cash payment. In this respect, Norderney is a historical showcase.

Since this restaurant was very close to our holiday apartment, we wanted to have a pizza here last week. The service was really quick and we didn't have to wait long for the food. Unfortunately we found both pizzas very bland and tasteless. The edge was somehow hard and on one side of my pizza it was slightly burnt. Apart from that, you just don't feel at ease when the waitress laughs at you with the regulars because you mispronounced the name of a pizza a little... Conclusion: Unfortunately it was a bad taste for us, but at least it was pretty quick.

We were in Norderney for the first time and ended up here by chance. First of all: you should make a reservation. Then you get authentic Italian cuisine in a very cozy atmosphere with an open kitchen. Particularly worthy of mention is the friendly service from Puglia, who charmingly has everything under control. And in terms of price, you don't notice that you're in Norderney. We ate there twice in 4 days and would have gone again. Excellent!

Pizza tastes good, but it's nothing special compared to the little Dinos Pizza stall. Only the price is significantly higher. Long wait for takeout. That was it. If you want a special pizza or Italian meal, I recommend Sergio.

We have been regular guests at the Osteria for several years. Apparently there was a change in personnel in the fall, and since then we no longer feel as comfortable as before. Food continues to be delicious at very fair island prices. During the holidays, it's best to reserve several weeks in advance, as you won't be able to get a spot without a reservation. Currently only cash payment possible.

Leider ein ziemlicher Reinfall. Schlechter Service von Anfang an, 2 von 4 Gerichten in der Qualität unzureichend, sehr laut und hektisch im Laden - kurzum: Nicht empfehlenswert! Wer einen schönen Tag auf der Insel ausklingen lassen möchte, sollte den Laden meiden. Das Geld nicht wert. Leider.

Leider waren alle unsere Gerichte ungewürzt und nicht schmackhaft. Die Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich und es war sehr laut. Das Bruschetta war ohne Knoblauch u.ä. Einfach ein Berg von Tomate auf Baguette.. billiges Öl dabei und Edeka Balsamico .. sehr schade wir kommen nicht wieder

Small, fine Italian. The antipasti platter was very good. The two pizzas could have been taken out of the oven a bit sooner, they were very "crunchy" but still super tasty! If we come to Norderney again we will be happy to stop there again ☺️

Make a reservation in good time when the island is at its peak...otherwise you won't get a place in the Italian oasis of well-being. Service is absolutely professional and when you get in touch, very warm. The pasta/pizza maker works magic. <-period. Unfortunately, more than 5 stars 🌟 is not possible.

Silvester abzocke am 31.12.2023. Leider muss ich meine bisherigen positiven Eindrücke von Dinos Osteria revidieren. Wir haben bereits im Oktober 2023 einen Tisch für den Silvester Abend reserviert. Als dann auf persönliche Nachfrage am 28.12.23 die Uhrzeit von 20 Uhr auf 18 Uhr vorverlegt wurde, sind wir erstmal misstrauisch geworden, haben aber auch erneute nachfrage keine plausible Antwort bekommen wieso die Uhrzeit geändert wurde. Auch auf die Frage hin ob es a la Carte gibt oder ein Menü, ist man uns eine Antwort schuldig geblieben. Am 30.12 haben wir also erneut die Lokalität aufgesucht um endlich in Erfahrung zu bringen was es zu essen gibt und zu welchem Preis. Wieder war der „Chef“ nicht im Haus und man konnte oder wollte uns keine Auskunft geben. Ich war noch in dem Glauben da man ja meine Handynummer vorliegen hatte, das man vielleicht eine telefonische Kontaktaufnahme seitens der Betreiber unternimmt. Leider war dies auch nur ein Wunschgedanke…..Die Katastrophe nahm also ihren Lauf. Nicht das man uns(+etwa 20 weiteren Gästen)den Zugang um 18 Uhr verwehrte, weil die Bedienung angeblich noch alleine wäre und sagte wir sollten gegen 18:30 Uhr wiederkommen, Nein, wir bekamen wieder keine Info zum Essen sondern uns wurden allen einfach etwas aufgetischt ohne vorher den Preis, hier mit 85€ völlig überteuert, zu kommunizieren. Der ganze Abend war eine Farce. Ich kann verstehen das jeder sein Geld verdienen muss, aber den Abend mit knapp 6 Stunden mehr als künstlich in die Länge zu ziehen, nur um Getränke zu verkaufen, Sorry, das geht nicht. Einige Gäste haben dann bereits gegen 23 Uhr das ganze abgebrochen, weil hier noch eine andere Veranstaltung im Anschluss stattfand, ist ja auch Normal an so einem Abend. Als wir mitbekamen war der Nebentisch dann auf seiner Rechnung stehen hatte, ist mir kurz anders geworden. Da wurde dann aufeinander bekannt, das dass Menü doch tatsächlich pro Person 85€ kosten sollte, hinzu kamen natürlich noch diverse Getränke, so das auch bei uns zum Schluss knapp 230€ auf dem Zettel standen. Der armen Bedienung, die ja schon den Ärger vom Nachbartisch deutlich abbekam, habe ich unseren Unmut ebenfalls noch einmal deutlich gemacht. Hier kam als Antwort, das auch das Personal, angeblich erst heute, über die Kosten und das was es zu essen geben sollte informiert wurde. Leider war auch hier der Geschäftsführer für eine Aussprache nicht greifbar. Was hier gelaufen ist, grenzt schon fast an Betrug. Seine Kunden nicht darüber in Kenntnis zu setzten was angeboten wird. Schon mal darüber nachgedacht das es Leute gibt die kein Lamm mögen, oder Fisch? Auch wenn ihr es euch leisten könnt, ist das eine Bodenlose Frechheit was hier abgelaufen ist. Ich hoffe das noch mehr Leute vom Abend des 31.12.23 ihrem Ärger hier Luft machen…..Schade finde ich es auch das man eine Ec Kartenzahlung nicht stornieren kann, auf die Auseinandersetzung hätte ich mich gefreut.
