Pizza Filizza in Hattingen

Centrally located in Hattingen's city center, you first feel happy when you think of the good old Greek snack bars. We sat down for a snack at the diner and regretted it after a few minutes, as much as it makes you feel sorry to say it since you want to support small businesses. Still, hygiene is a factor when it comes to eating, and I felt like I was in a bad New York slum shop movie scene. Used dishes are piled up behind the counter at the back, adventurously placed next to the pizza maker, who apparently went back to smoke every now and then and then worked on the dough with his bare hands. I'll spare you further details. The store was (absolutely) packed. The staff calls the respective order into the room. Neutral, not cordial. Also not acceptable: We arrived five minutes before a large group of over 5 people and waited around 15 minutes for our clear order, while the group in question got their entire table full before us. I could hardly enjoy the food because I was slightly disgusted by the dishes and cutlery. It was average fast food. Definitely never again.

We actually just want to have a beer after the bike ride. Since the restaurant is close to the coal railway line, we stopped in there, spontaneously took advantage of the pizza and pasta day and ate and drank in a relaxed manner. The team is very nice, the terrace outside is pleasant, the beer and pizza were very tasty. Big recommendation. We haven't tried elaborate dishes like steaks, which are also on the menu. But it's still coming.

The service is great, we ordered the food and picked it up ourselves. Unfortunately the sushi wasn't particularly good. The nigiris are oversized and the salmon had a slight fish smell, which is unacceptable with sushi. The rice wasn't cooked properly either, some of it was too soft and some of it had dry rice grains :( so unfortunately for us it wasn't a real, high-quality sushi meal. Definitely not a recommendation!

Very nice service, excellent food, cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately the opening hours are not good during the week in the evenings.
