Peschl-Terrasse in Passau

A typical traditional brewery pub, I'd say. I enjoyed the beer, and the food was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive, and I didn't have to wait long (though that might have been due to the time of day). The portion was generous, so I had them pack half of it up for me.

The Peschl Terrace is located at Roßtränke 4, 94032 Passau. It's a fantastic place. The atmosphere is great, and the ambiance is lovely. I recently enjoyed several beers and a beef roulade there. Both were delicious. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and socially competent. I highly recommend this excellent establishment. Quaint inn with a traditional menu. I enjoyed the food. The beer was also very good. The price-performance ratio is good. The service is very friendly. A reservation is recommended.

During a city tour, we wanted to have lunch. We entered the quaint taproom through a somewhat hidden entrance across the street. From the menu, I chose the farmer's schnitzel and wasn't disappointed. The price-performance ratio is excellent, as is the quality of the food. The two naturally fried schnitzels were accompanied by fried potatoes that truly lived up to their name, with a delicious roasted flavor, and bacon that was just right for the crispy bits. Everything was piping hot and freshly prepared. We also enjoyed a good, aromatic beer. All this at a price that makes you wonder if you're in a touristy area. It must be even nicer on the terrace in the summer. We'll definitely be back.

We spontaneously decided to stop at the Peschl Terrace for lunch on a Tuesday. The waitress, a lovely lady, gave us a warm welcome. The food arrived very quickly and was a generous portion. The venison goulash with red cabbage and dumplings was delicious; the sauce had a hint of cinnamon and cloves and a hint of pre-Christmas flavor. If we lived nearby, we would definitely come here for a meal more often. Keep up the good work!

Delicious, home-style food with generous portions. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself was freezing cold, and many people were sitting there in their jackets. So we left quickly. A shame, really.

Munich schnitzel and cordon bleu with wild garlic cream cheese are delicious, the service is a bit overwhelmed, the front tables are above the street, where posers often hang out.

Fine Bavarian cuisine. The Bavarian Cordon Bleu and Kaiserschmarrn are highly recommended!

You pay for the view. The food was subpar and the service was nonexistent. Water glass went dry and the waiter never checked on the table. If not for the amazing view view i would have given a 1 on my review.

Delicious Bavarian food at fair prices. Very friendly staff.

Beautiful terrace overlooking the river. The portions are generous, and you'll definitely be full. I had cheese spaetzle with fried onions and salad. The spaetzle are served with cheese and cream, just the right blend, allowing the cheese to drape beautifully; very tasty. A little more salt would have been good, but you can also adjust the seasoning yourself. I felt comfortable. The terrace is nicely sheltered and not overlooked. It's located above the pavement, so you won't be disturbed by the tourists on the promenade, but you can still watch the hustle and bustle. This restaurant is also impressive in terms of prices. You can pay in cash or by card.

A wonderful, old brewery on the edge of Passau's old town. Its terrace overlooks the Danube. The menu featured typical southern German dishes, but also a few culinary surprises.

Very good food at reasonable prices! Children's schnitzel €7.50 Homemade venison goulash with dumplings and a truly delicious red cabbage, which also seems homemade (€17.50). One point deducted for the men's restroom, which smelled unpleasant and was partially broken. The women's restroom, on the other hand, was good. Hopefully, it'll be okay next time.

We had a quick bite to eat on the covered terrace. The food was delicious, but the waiters weren't very German in their dealings. They even told us to Google what we wanted...

Hospitality is a given here (whether from the chef, waiters, or kitchen staff). The servers are friendly, flexible, and quick. The food is fresh, well-seasoned, and served hot. The Bavarian Cordon Bleu is highly recommended. We've been coming here for many years and will, of course, return.

We sat for lunch on the beautiful Danube terrace. Great food (including an incredibly large selection of schnitzel and cordon bleu), extremely friendly and attentive service, and reasonable prices. A definite recommendation!

Beautiful views of the Danube from the terrace, a rustic dining room, delicious beer, and friendly service. The dishes are a cross-section of Bavarian and German cuisine. There are also good vegetarian options. Overall, the food presentation seems rather unambitious and old-fashioned, but the price is reasonable. The potato salad was actually just potatoes, which was a shame. Bottom line: It was okay.

I can recommend Peschl. There is one caveat: the currywurst comes with a horrible-tasting, gritty sauce. I'd order it without it in the future and get ketchup separately. A friend also found the sauce too strange and wouldn't eat it again.

The terrace is a pleasant place to sit. The service is friendly. The food looked good, but tasted marginal.

Discovered by chance with six friends. Great terrace to relax, tasty and affordable food, beer at a reasonable temperature, and a waiter in his lederhosen doing a great job. What more could you need?

This is a super-great restaurant❣️ I was there on May 1st and my birthday. The terrace is beautiful—elevated above the street and with a view of the Danube. The menu is quite extensive. It's a shame we were there two years ago. Everything was delicious. Yesterday's visit was disappointing. Backhänl (a pork knuckle) with ice-cold potato salad and the knuckle of pork with dumplings and thick gravy, and green salad instead of sauerkraut. No, not really. I suspect a new chef.

Three asparagus spears, the smallest schnitzel ever and two small diced potatoes. No butter, no salt, not a lettuce leaf. The Styrian salad was absolutely watery and without any spice. The dressing was just on the side of the plate. The chicken was delicious. Honestly, it felt like an absolute tourist rip-off to us :(

Impeccable price-performance ratio. Visited twice on Easter weekend. On Easter Sunday without reservation/waiting time on the terrace with a view of the Danube. The only “criticism”: I would have liked a small side salad with the cordon bleu.

The place was empty apart from a party from a river cruise ship in another room. Friendly and pleasant waiter. Food was awful and I only ate some of it because I was hungry. I wished I hadn't as I later felt slightly queasy.vSuch a shame as it looked a nice, traditional place.

I come from Mainz and think it's great. Excellent cuisine, especially the sauces and the thinly pounded schnitzels. Great service, very nice location and very nice ambience. Always my pleasure. A very likeable young chef. I would happily recommend it again and again. The delicious tomato soup is very commendable.

I recently visited Peschl Terrasse and would like to share my experiences. The ambience of the brewery is definitely a highlight - quaint and rustic, just as you would imagine. It conveys an authentic atmosphere that invites you to linger. The service deserves special praise. The staff was very attentive and tried hard, which made the stay pleasant. You felt well looked after and welcome. As far as the food was concerned, unfortunately there was room for improvement. I tried the cheese dumplings, which didn't completely convince me. There is still room for improvement in the preparation or recipe. The beer was definitely a bright spot. It was tasty and met the expectations of a traditional brewery. You can taste the quality and care in the production. Overall, the Peschl Terrasse offers a cozy atmosphere with good service and delicious beer. There is still room for improvement when it comes to food. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit, especially for beer lovers and those who appreciate an authentic brewery atmosphere.

You can eat delicious food there and the dog was allowed in. We were even given a special table where the dog could lie down comfortably under the bench. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

I've eaten here several times now and can only recommend it to everyone. Very extensive menu with many Bavarian specialties. Everything is delicious and homemade. Wonderfully rustic atmosphere and pleasantly moderate prices. Plus an incredibly courteous and very nice young waiter. In addition to the many tourist traps in Passau, it is a real ray of hope and always a must when visiting the city of three rivers.

Honest, reasonably priced cuisine, had pork knuckle that was very tasty. Fresh and various draft beers. Smoking winter garden. Authentic and friendly boss. Staff attentive. Beautiful outdoor terrace with a view of the Danube. Here food still brings culinary delights, keep it up, the fish heads from Lübeck.

It was very tasty! We even ate there two days in a row. With the price-performance ratio of less than ten euros for a pork knuckle, you can't say. We (Passauer) wanted to eat there today, August 27th, around 7 p.m. Went in via the entrance via the old town. We were allowed to put our bikes in the entrance area. We were in there for a few minutes before we locked the bikes Anteroom/entrance area. What we then heard coming from a door in the left area, I think the anteroom or storage room (brown tiles) of the kitchen, caused us to flee immediately. A man coughed loudly and disgustingly several times and then you could hear the mucus being spit out. Wonder where?!? Our first impression was done. Unfortunately we cannot rate the location, staff or food. Unfortunately for us there is no place where we will go in the future. Too bad.

As locals in Passau, the two of us set out to visit the Peschlterasse. We were there at 7:30 p.m. Of course the atmosphere on the Danube is nice, perhaps one or two tables with cracked paint on the surface should be replaced. Ordered drinks, got a menu, when we asked about the food under €10 that was advertised at the entrance, the waiter could only tell us the pork knuckle, otherwise just look at the menu. Drinks came quickly. After that, no one was at the table for food for 20 minutes. After we gave a quick notice, all we got was: "Ahh, the food is running short, but it should still be okay." Hmm OK, n.a. A short bit of information beforehand might have been good if it was so scarce that we could get anything at all. Ordered food, it came about 20 minutes later, time was OK for 1 pork knuckle and 1 cheese spaetzle. Cheese spaetzle were no longer warm on the surface and lukewarm at the bottom of the bowl. So all in all it wasn't for me, basically I wouldn't have missed anything if I hadn't been there. There are various better pubs and restaurants in Passau, but because of the spot it is a tourist magnet and the crowd there is accordingly.

You have a wonderful view of the Danube.

The grill plate left something to be desired, the fries were full of fat and tough, you had to look for the liver, no fresh vegetables, no sauces. Very nice service and nice view from the terrace.

Nice terrace in the evening sun and there are also plenty of shaded areas. Nice map that both traditionalists and others will find what they are looking for. Price-performance ratio very good. The service definitely deserves a sixth star, attentive, friendly and open-minded.

An aggressive host should go out of business. We wanted to sit on the terrace but it started to rain and we were very rude to sit under the awning. It was raining even harder and we had to move into the winter garden, which the landlord didn't like. In the winter garden we asked the landlord to close the sliding door because it was raining on our table. The door was half broken and the landlord couldn't close it. He was visibly very aggressive and he apparently blamed us even though the door had probably been broken for a long time I had guests with me and I apologize for the host's bad behavior to my guests. I won't be coming back any time soon, I'm not a tourist who then leaves, I always came with my guests and I apologized for the moodiness and the overload of the service, but today it was too much.
