The ambiance, the outstandingly delicious food—I had the homemade pickled herring (top-notch) with fried potatoes—the service was top-notch! We really enjoyed it! People out there! Just think about the effort and expense involved in bringing food and other items to the island to run a restaurant. Just think about it!

A family-friendly atmosphere and excellent food. A bit pricey, but the portions are generous.

One star is for the rustic ambiance. A rude and unfriendly welcome forced us to explain why we were there. Despite many empty tables, we were seated. The food was mediocre (hunger drove it in), and the salad was substandard. What annoyed us most was the rude attitude toward the guests. Reminds me of the old days.

There aren't many restaurants in Neuendorf. Full of energy and hunger, we went to the restaurant. It felt like an eternity before the waiter came and took our order. Nobody can do anything about the wind, so the food and warm drinks quickly got cold. In short: I haven't experienced such overwhelmed, inert staff in a long time. You can't rate the price and service, nor the food. I have some sympathy, as I come from the restaurant industry, but then you should really consider whether it makes sense to continue the business. Less is more. Nevertheless, all the best for Die Boje.

A restaurant with very overpriced food. I had a creamed schnitzel with fries for around €22, which was one of the cheapest main courses. Furthermore, the schnitzel didn't taste great – it was very thick, tough, and the cream sauce was bland. Otherwise, the restaurant is very nicely decorated; perhaps the fish dishes, of which there were many, could have tasted better.

The food is still delicious, with plenty of fish, at a relatively high price. Under new management and a staff shortage, the staff is working with great dedication. The relaxed and cheerful atmosphere of earlier years is missed for now. The ambiance is still very pleasantly maritime.

This restaurant is my 10/10 on the island. It offers a very good selection of food and drinks. Plus, it has good service and a great location.

⭐⭐☆ A small oasis with a large parasol – and a smile that unfortunately didn’t come along Hiddensee is one of our favorite places in the world – an island where time has slowed down, and horse-drawn carriages overtake you in the back lane. No cars, just peace, nature, silence and people who – like us – enjoy it all in slow motion. We rented bicycles and cycled along the small roads to this nice little place. The garden was lovely and cool – large parasols and a German cultural atmosphere, exactly what we needed after a long bike ride. The coffee was good, the surroundings beautiful… and if the female waiter had just smiled in our direction, we would have given it five stars without hesitation. But maybe she was just tired of tourists. Or tired of her cat. Or of life in general. But we are still in a good mood – because on Hiddensee it takes more than a sour smile to ruin the day.

Very good food and very friendly service – the waiter was particularly friendly and attentive. It made the visit truly enjoyable. We'd be happy to return.

Beautifully and quietly located on the meadows of Neuendorf. A cozy dining room with a maritime theme. And a well-kept outdoor area with large parasols. Arrived at 10:30 a.m. Light breeze, a mix of sun and clouds, 16 degrees We wanted to have a coffee outside on the terrace. The following dialogue ensued: "I'm not serving outside in this weather." "We'll take the cup outside and bring it back in." "No," and from then on, he stubbornly ignored us. PS: the restaurant was empty except for one table. We're now sitting by the harbor, drinking our coffee in the sun ☀️

Review is about the restaurant: Long waiting times. Not only getting a table but also waiting for the food to arrive. The food is rather below average, even bad for the price (25-35 euros for the main course). Also that in 2025 there will be no card reader, on an island that might have an ATM 8km away... I don't know. This could all be better.

We reserved a table at lunchtime and were greeted by name when we arrived in the evening. That's what I call SERVICE! Great hosts and delicious food. The prices are really good, because on an island you shouldn't forget about logistics. The atmosphere is rustic and there is something to discover everywhere. We have reserved a table again for this week. Highly recommended.

I was on a short hiking break in the buoy ;-). Coffee and herring rolls, fantastic. Plus interesting background information from the landlord. Nice, cozy facility! Gladly again in Neuendorf..

The Boje was one of our favorite restaurants in Neuendorf for many years. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, the atmosphere quaint, and the prices reasonable. What we experienced now, in the off-season, is absolutely outrageous: The waitresses snippily tell uninitiated guests not to even look for a table, because only those with reservations are allowed to stay anyway. Anyone who has learned their lesson from this rejection and therefore sits at a table almost watches as the disappointed departing guests leave with a guilty conscience. But the kicker: For most fish dishes, you now have to shell out almost 27 euros! The only difference between the various dishes is the type of fish. Otherwise, all the plates contain the same mushy, greasy, reheated fried potatoes with plenty of bacon and a side "salad" that was mostly canned. The price-performance ratio is miles apart. We quickly agreed that we would not tolerate this unprecedented stigma a second time.

We were guests at the restaurant for dinner. An incredibly quaint and cozy place. Very friendly service and excellent food. Everything was fresh and delicious. The portions were generous, and if you didn't finish everything, you could take it home. The value for money is excellent! The restaurant is a very good address away from the tourist towns of Vitte and Kloster.

Quaint fisherman-style restaurant with a beer garden in the center of Neuendorf, near the harbor. From breakfast to dinner everything was delicious, reservations are strongly recommended. The menus are a little different, but nice.

There were several people in the restaurant and some had stomach problems afterwards. Maybe old, cheap oil for frying or something else. In addition, bacon is used everywhere, for example in fried potatoes, which was of course a shock for vegetarians and pescatarians. Otherwise rustic location. I would still advise against it because of the quality of the food.

Three stars are only given because of previous experiences, which were mostly positive. Fresh ingredients, tasty prepared. The garfish was always wonderful. Either a lot has changed in the last few years or you shouldn't go to Hiddensee in August. The locals may then have had enough of the tourists. In any case, after we were allowed to choose a table, a process that was not particularly friendly, we were ignored for the next quarter of an hour without any explanation. We were the only guests at that time. We then left.

I was in the restaurant on Wednesday, the staff listens and responds extremely well to requests understanding! Furthermore, the food was very tasty!!!

It was a wonderful day on Hiddensee with a crowning conclusion in the Gaststätte zur Boje. We had cod and zander fillet, which was really delicious. The fish was of great quality! For dessert, I can recommend the yeast dumplings with vanilla-sea buckthorn sauce to everyone. A poem!!!

We stopped in for lunch, friendly, fast service, well prepared fish, delicious fish soup. The fried potatoes were too dark for my taste and the Aperol was too watery. Otherwise everything was fine. For dog owners; these are not tolerated indoors.

After a bike tour, we stopped there for dinner on May 11, 2024. We sat outside and had a nice waiter. The food was delicious. But the prices are really not cheap. The patio furniture really needs to be replaced or refurbished. I messed up my jacket. Card payment is not possible.

Today we went on a day trip to Neuedorf with 2 small children and went to the buoy. The waiter was super nice and quick. The food was "simple" just the way we like it and very tasty and plentiful. We sat outside on the terrace as well It's so beautiful inside that you wish it was raining😂we'd love to come back

We were there for lunch on Sunday. Very friendly staff. People spoke flatly among themselves. The food was appetizingly prepared and tasted good.

Wir sind seit einigen Tagen auf der wunderschönen Insel und waren heute mit dem Fahrrad in Neuendorf unterwegs. Dort wollten wir in der Gaststätte Zur Boje etwas essen. Die Gaststätte war offen, der Gastraum ohne Gäste. Wir hörten aber das in der Küche gearbeitet wurde und warteten geduldig. Als nach 5 Minuten niemand kam betätigten wir die Klingel auf dem Tresen. Aus der Küche hörten wir dann " einen Moment" und wir warteten weiter. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten klingelten wir nochmals, aber niemand kam. Wir haben dann enttäuscht die Gaststätte verlassen und werden diese auf keinen Fall weiter empfehlen. Wahrscheinlich wegen Reichtum auf keine Gäste angewiesen. Schade!!!

Very tasty, but only cash payment

The Buoy is not exactly the largest restaurant inside, but it is the coziest restaurant. The outdoor area is great when the weather permits. When the weather is nice, you can eat there without a reservation. But if it's very changeable, you won't be served there, so what do you do with your food when it rains? It's hard to stand with your plate inside when it's full. We have observed this discussion many times. We have been guests there for a good 15 years. From 5 p.m. you have to reserve in advance for the interior. The food is delicious and rich. There is always a sign on the door saying that payment is only possible in cash, as is usually the case on the island. And this has been the case for decades. Anyone who can read has a clear advantage!! The staff is always friendly and attentive. Sometimes guests should get used to this too. When the staff comes out of the kitchen with food in their arms, it is difficult to quickly check when a reservation is possible. The complaining of holidaymakers is more than just rude. Relaxation is the name of the game on vacation. And with kindness things get much better. In any case, we are looking forward to our evening visit to the buoy and our Duckstein in the outdoor area.

We went to the buoy to eat four times in one week of vacation. It was great. The waiter and waitress are very attentive and friendly. The food was consistently delicious, the portions were very good. You should make a reservation in the evening, but during the day at unusual meal times ;-) we were usually lucky to get a place.

The waiter was really pleasant and extremely attentive. Unfortunately, the children's menu was charged at €18 instead of €11. The change between guests with reservations was also unnecessarily calculated. And yet: the food was excellent and the interior of the restaurant was absolutely unique!

The food was/is simply great. Small menu for the winter but really great. The atmosphere is very cozy. The staff open-minded and friendly. What more do you want!

According to the website, open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. except Wednesdays. For this reason we made our way to Neuendorf, hoping to have a nice lunch there after a walk. But far from it, you just stand in front of a locked door, no sign, no information on the website. You probably don't need it! I completely understand the need for a winter break, but you have to communicate that to potential customers. But probably enough will come back, but we certainly won't!

Since dogs are generally not welcome here, we couldn't go in here. Eating outside was not possible due to the weather

We spent a week as a couple on Hiddensee. When we arrived it was storming so badly that we could hardly leave Neuendorf. The buoy offered us a warm, warm welcome even without a reservation. In total we went back there three times a week. The Buoy is a cozy, rustic, fishing-decorated inn with friendly staff, delicious food and a pleasant stay. We really liked the timing and the way the food was served, you weren't pressured to leave the restaurant because the table might already have been reserved, the staff seemed warm and courteous. - A prior reservation is a good idea. We would love to come back on our next Hiddensee vacation.

Grauenhaftes Essen, verdorbener Kuchen und insgesamt der am wenigsten schöne Ort von Hiddensee.

Eine urige Gaststätte, sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir waren dort in der Nachsaison 1x essen. Essen war hervorragend, man konnte auch bei einigen Gerichten kleinere Portionen bekommen. Service sehr aufmerksam und persönlich. Die Lage ist dort überall gut, da Neuendorf sehr klein ist. Die Preise waren - wie überall auf der Insel - hoch. Alles in sehr zu empfehlen!

Das Restaurant "Zur Boje" sollte eigentlich "Leuchtturm" heißen, denn dieses Gasthaus leuchtet weithin im gastronomisch eher unterversorgten südlichen (Neuen-)Dorf auf unserer Lieblinginsel Hiddensee. In der Saison ist es abends unbedingt empfehlenswert, Plätze zu reservieren. Sitzt man dann, dann sitzt man gut und sehr gemütlich im liebevoll dekorierten Fischer-Ambiente. Den Service haben wir bei 4 Besuchen in 2 Urlaubswochen als ausnahmslos flott und freundlich erlebt. Die Küche ist topp! Also: klare Empfehlung... und bitte nicht vergessen, den Sanddorn-Eisbecher zu probieren.

Ideen der Gerichte und Portionen sind okay, Essen macht satt, ist geschmacklich aber er Mittelmaß. Preis-Leistung ist okay.

Kleinere typische Inselgaststätte, obwohl Frühstückszeit vorbei war, hat uns die Küche noch ein leckeres Frühstück zubereitet, ****** nach inzwischen 3 weiteren Besuchen 2021, 2022 und vor 4 Tagen können wir unsere gute Rezension bestätigen, Essen nach wie vor sehr gut, die schlechten Bewertungen bzgl. Service können wir nicht teilen, uns gegenüber war die junge Bedienung freundlich und äußerst flexibel, allerdings waren wir immer im Sept. oder Oktober auf der Insel und können nicht beurteilen, wie es mit dem Service in der Hochsaison bestellt ist

Ein Wort ...köstlich! Haben gleich für den nächsten Abend nochmal bestellt. Ich muss den Germknödel, den Holunderlikör und nochmal ein Fischgericht essen. Der Geschmack hat mich einfach glücklich gemacht.

Hiddensee ist nicht Ballermann - und wer das begriffen hat, wird auf der Insel und besonders in der "Boje" auf das beste zufriedengestellt. Egal ob Übernachtung oder Essen: Perfekte Gastfreundschaft, reichliches und besonders leckeres Frühstück, Mittag oder Abendessen - mit richtig frischen Fisch - besser geht es nicht!

Ich spreche ausdrücklich als Besucher der Gaststätte. Über das Hotel kann ich nichts sagen! Ich kann die guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen, dies vorweg, und deshalb kann ich aus folgenden Gründen nur 2 Sterne geben: 1. Die Tische waren voller Essensreste und niemand von den Bedienungen hat den Versuch unternommen, diese abzuwischen. Das mag in einer Imbissbude okay sein, aber nicht in einem Restaurant. 2. Die (jüngere) Bedienung war maximal unhöflich und total genervt. Patzige Antworten, Augenrollen und geräuschvolles Ausstoßen von Luft reduziert das Trinkgeld auf Nullkommanull. 3. Das kulinarische Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war nicht ausreichend. Die Speisen waren nicht frisch zubereitet. Der Salat, der Bestandteil des Menüs war und keine Beilage, bestand zur Hälfte aus eingelegten Karotten und Roter Bete. Die Backkartoffel war an den Rändern vertrocknet, was darauf schließen lässt, dass sie schon eine ganze Weile vorgekocht herumlag. Bei einem Menü-Preis von fast 20 Euro ist das ein no go. Alles in allem kann ich hier nur 2 Sterne geben.

Super schönes kleines Restaurant auf Hiddensee in Neuendorf. Leckere Speisen, nettes Ambiente und super Service. Uns hat es dort sehr gefallen.

Eine wunderschönes rustikales Restaurant mit schönem Aussenbereich. Leider die unfreundlichste Bedienung die wir auf der Insel erlebt haben. Auf die Frage, was in der Fischsuppe wäre, kam nur:"Na Fisch, was denn sonst". Nochmalieges Nachfragen ergab dann Hecht. Wir dachten erst, das dies die Vhefin selber wäre, war sie aber nicht - die war dagegen sehr freundlich und hat uns über die Historie der Familiengaststätte aufgeklärt. Erstaunlich, wie man sich so mit dem geschäftsschädigendem Verhalten von Angestellten abfinden kann. Das Essen war gut.

Sieht nett aus, dachte ich. Ich komme aus Mecklenburg und freute mich auf den Urlaub in der Heimat. Dann aber schnippsches Personal und 2 Fliegen in der Fischsuppe. Keine Entschuldigung, keine Ermässigung in der Rechnung. Liebe Hiddenseer, so lockt man keine Touristen an.

Wir waren zweimal hier und nette Begrüßung erhalten. Direkte Tisch Zuweisung. Sehr gute Weinberatung. Essen Top lecker!! Immer einen Besuch wert. Tolle Innenausstattung. Danke!!!
