We ate in the beer garden at Paulaner am Nockherberg and were thrilled! 🍺🌳 The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting, and the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We especially want to highlight the food – fresh, delicious, and authentically Bavarian. All in all, a perfect visit that we'd love to repeat. Highly recommended!

Very nice location, we've been there several times. The current menu in particular lured us back after just two weeks - very creative and tasty dishes (also vegetarian)!

The four of us dined at Paulaner am Nockherberg (November 7, 2025) and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were impressed by the stylish and cozy atmosphere – typically Bavarian, but with a modern and inviting flair. For starters, we chose the Fädlesuppe (a type of pasta soup) and the pumpkin soup – both perfectly seasoned and served at the ideal temperature. The pumpkin soup, in particular, was wonderfully creamy and aromatic. For our main courses, we opted for the Wiener Schnitzel and the beef shank goulash. Both dishes were exceptionally flavorful, beautifully presented, and the portion sizes were just right. The goulash was incredibly tender, and the schnitzel was golden brown and crispy – exactly as we had hoped. For dessert, we ordered Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake) – and it truly was a highlight. Light, fluffy, caramelized, and with a delicate hint of vanilla – by far the best Kaiserschmarrn we've ever eaten! Our friends were equally impressed. A huge thank you to our waitress (I've unfortunately forgotten her name; perhaps someone from Nockherberg could let us know) who looked after us attentively, warmly, and professionally throughout the entire evening. In short: A perfect evening with excellent food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Paulaner am Nockherberg is highly recommended – we will definitely be back! 🍽️🍻

First dish on the menu: "Onion roast beef with aubergine"! Excellent roast pork. Nothing else Bavarian. Somewhat affected: Boeuf à la mode in Barolo? They had run out of beer from the menu. Somewhat disappointing. RECOMMENDED, HOWEVER, FOR VEGETARIANS.

The schnitzel is a bit pricey at €34, but the overall atmosphere is excellent. I'm satisfied with the parking, atmosphere, and location.

Actually, it was very, very good. There were 21 of us. The reservation was easy, the service was excellent, and the food was top quality. But the beer was definitely the best part. At the end, we had a minor issue with the bill, and they resolved it immediately and without any problems. Just as you'd expect from a Munich classic like Paulaner am Nockherberg. We'll definitely be back!

On Sunday, October 26, 2025, I went to dinner with my wife at 5:00 PM. We didn't have a reservation, but we were assigned a table, which was still acceptable at that time. As always, we received very good service and were satisfied with the service and the ambiance. Unfortunately, my meal wasn't good. My Böfflamott (pot roast beef) wasn't particularly large and was riddled with fat and tendons. I could only eat half of it. It came with a delicious sauce, some vegetables, and a whopping four (four!) dumplings. The meal costs 30 euros. Fortunately, I had something to eat later at home. After the very friendly server asked me the usual question about whether I enjoyed the meal, I said yes, but also said that I wasn't satisfied with it because it was full of fat and tendons and there were only four dumplings. The answer was that I should please report this earlier, so he could have done something. I have to admit, he's right, of course! Next time, I'll complain immediately. My wife's meal, by the way, was very good; it was a salad. In conclusion: If you're hungry, don't order the beef ragu and pay close attention to the meat, and if necessary, complain quickly.

Spent a great Sunday afternoon outside in the beer garden here during Oktoberfest. Not too crowded. Staff were friendly and food and beer were top notch.

Excellent typical Bavarian restaurant, the food is plentiful and very good! Fast, friendly service and great beer (they brew it on site).

Visit to the beer garden. A clear selection of hot and cold dishes. But everything was extremely good. Also beautifully presented on the plate, rather unusual for a beer garden. In my opinion, the best beer garden in Munich. The location of the restaurant and beer garden is beautiful. The dining rooms are modern, combining Bavarian tradition. The huge bar, including a show brewery, is impressive. You are shown to your table by one of the always very friendly staff members, who serve you very well with charm and humor. A large selection of different beers is available. With a "beer tasting" of five or ten different beers, you can taste your favorite. The menu is not overly extensive. However, this is reflected in the absolutely top quality of the food. Everything here is fresh and homemade. It's Michelin-star quality! This quality, along with the excellent presentation of the food, justifies the slightly higher prices. Everything is absolutely perfect.

We were here for dinner. We were assigned a table, and the waiter arrived promptly. The staff was really friendly. The food and drinks were served without long waits. The taste and quality were decent. The prices are on the higher end, but still reasonable. Overall, a definite recommendation.

Very disappointed, wanted to redeem Oktoberfest vouchers, so we went to the restaurant today. The venison leg was tough, and the portions were rather meager for the price. I ate it because I was hungry. I left some of the tough stuff on my plate. The waiter offered us a Kaiser Schmarren, but we politely declined. Paulaner actually charged full price for it because the venison was already nibbled. I left half of it behind. I feel so sorry for them, it looks great on the outside...

Good food and good beer. Reasonably priced for what you get. The only downside was that it was extremely hot. It must have been around 30 degrees inside.

The atmosphere is surprisingly nice and cosy. 100% Bavarian vibe, loud but warm. We were there around 2pm. I've eaten a lot of Bavarian foods, and I was also here 3 years ago. I must say that I enjoyed my food, but my two companions, who were from Munich, were a bit disappointed with the food they ordered. My friend ordered a pfannkuchen suppe, while I and our other friend only ordered a main dish. The appetiser of our friend was served at the same time as our main dish; that meant that we were already done with our main meal, and our friend was still waiting for his main dish. Overall the restaurant is still worth a try!

Real nice restaurant and beergarden, super nice interior, impeccable service. Lots of Bavarian history - the regulars have their private steins locked up here. Kind of pricey, though, bring sufficient cash.

Visited on Sunday 24th August 2025. Had planned to visit for a while to sample the Paulaner Knockherberg unfiltered Hell. The outdoor Biergarten is something to behold. Amazing wooden tables just a skip from the self service canteen area. The beer did not disappoint. Served in authentic Paulaner Steins and as smooth as silk. Proper liquid gold on the tongue. I will not try to describe the taste but it is every bit as great as my favourite, Augustiner Edelstof. Paulaner am Nockherberg is a must visit. Pure and simple. Put it on your München itinerary.

The food and drinks are always great! The service is friendly, too. Sure, it can be loud when it's busy, but it's still always worth a visit.

The Wiener Schnitzel wasn't quite good. It cost €34, and the breading was completely peeling off.

Twenty years ago, the owner brewed a truly fresh brewery beer here; unfortunately, today, there's only a very bland attempt at a home-brewed beer. Today's brewmaster probably sees this more as a creation in the spirit of the craft beer craze, rather than as a down-to-earth beverage. The regular Paulaner wheat beer costs €6.20 here, which you can find almost everywhere in Munich—and everywhere else in Germany—for much less. And a beer garden with assigned seating... nothing more needs to be said!

The food is some of the best I've had in Munich, everything is very well prepared, the flavors are very interesting. The atmosphere is very beautiful.

What's the hype about? It's a beer garden, nothing more. All the seats in the front are reserved for hours, but no one shows up. You can't get your food or drink in the back until 4 p.m. Who likes that?

Unfortunately, there's a skewer at the entrance, polluting the entire beer garden; it should be in the back corner. Unfortunately, it's still closed today at 12:30, August 11th.

The beer garden has seen better days. It wasn't busy, but there were still used dishes and mugs lying around everywhere. A feast for the flies and wasps. The staff seemed to be having an even better time at the smoking table among the guests.

After we had picked up food and drinks and tried to pay with a voucher, we were told it wasn't valid in the beer garden and couldn't be used. Even though the voucher stated that it was valid in the beer garden, this meant the serviced, demarcated, and fully reserved area at that time. The operator was unable to accommodate us. "They couldn't charge for it. They didn't have a reader." We won't be coming back; there are plenty of alternatives.

Roast pork in a traditional beer garden shouldn't be without broccoli, chanterelle mushrooms, and breaded potato dumplings. Especially since the base was actually quite good, even if the price, at over €20 including coleslaw, wasn't exactly a bargain. The service and ambiance were very good.

I was there with the family during Christmass. Definitely needs a reservation before going. The food is good with many meat options and the service equally good. The decoration and the facilities are also very pleasant. Recommended for nice and quality family lunch or dinners. And of course the beer is one of the best ever.

The staff is always cheerful and friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and it's easy to have a good conversation.

Went here for dinner with a large group. Unfortunately we had to sit inside due to rain. Our service was pretty good though another waiter was unnecessarily rude to us. There were 3 options for vegetarian (1 vegan). The jackfruit goulash was good. It's all of course on the more expensive side. Goulash =24€, 0.5l beer =5,90. It's good to go for a "Biergarten" experience but not a place that I would go back to for food.

We had a reservation for a small after-wedding party. The food was good but nothing special. The price of the roast pork was okay, but everything else was overpriced; you're paying more for the name than the food. I also think the beer, at €6.20, is borderline excessive. Everything was very nice until 7:40 p.m., when the waiter came and casually told us that we had to leave because the table was reserved for someone else after 8 p.m. So our party was unfortunately cut short, and we were all very disappointed. This is an absolute disgrace. I will definitely not recommend this restaurant, but the tourists will come.

We've been there many times and love the roast pork with coleslaw. Simply excellent! But the fact that they only serve small portions for children or seniors isn't modern! Maybe you want to watch your figure even in middle age! Or simply not eat so much meat! This urgently needs to be updated!!!

Food is okay but expensive compared to other German restaurants. Had the ribs and it was quite dry. Service is very slow and chaotic. Waited forever to get seated and to be served. My salad was missing and they brought it only when I finished my main. There are better German restaurants in Munich.

Richtig gutes Essen - nicht nur typisch bayerisch - und auch noch richtig viel davon. Auch auf Sonderwünsche (Laktosefrei) geht das freundliche Personal ein. Auch bei einem plötzlichen Regenguss verliert niemand die Ruhe und wir wurden problemlos ins Trockene umgesiedelt. Das Entrecote und die marinierten Erdbeeren kann ich wirklich empfehlen - das Bier ist ohnehin über jeden Zweifel erhaben.

Paulaner. A big name from which you'd expect a lot, especially given the prices. It was a very nice location with mediocre food and at times unfriendly service. I've never eaten such tough and dry roast pork. If the drinks hadn't already been so outrageously expensive, I would have ordered a second drink to wash down the soles of my shoes. Very disappointing and definitely not recommended.

After our last visit two years ago, we said never again. But since our regular restaurant was closed for a private event, we thought, maybe a second chance? A disaster from the start! Arrogant and very unfriendly staff at the reception made us wait a very long time. They constantly walk around and simply ignore us. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, where all the tourists seem to sit. We asked for a table near the front and were told the restaurant was fully booked. (There was one table available all night.) The service was very slow and the food was only OK. Our server was at least nice. Simple German food quality, but much more expensive than other restaurants in Germany. For example, 2 main courses, 2 beers, and 2 red wines, and the bill was €100 with tip! We definitely wouldn't recommend it, and we all work for large German companies and will never have a team event or corporate event here.

A fantastic beer garden with friendly staff and a great selection of delicious food. We've been here many times for business, and I highly recommend it to everyone! It's a great location for a party or dinner. The beer garden is super nice, and the seating inside is great too. I recommend the Wiener Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn, and a Paulaner Spezi (a typical Austrian dish). But you can also easily order other dishes there; the service is very competent, and customizations are also possible!

While many beer gardens in Munich often offer a "same old thing" that's uninspiring and served at high prices, the Paulaner beer garden at Nockherberg stands out. The prices are in the typical Munich range, but the quality of the food is truly outstanding. The dishes are lovingly prepared and a true highlight. The fried chicken salad is a true work of art – both visually and taste-wise. The half chicken was juicy and tender, and the fries made from fresh potatoes were crispy and a delight. We're particularly pleased that some organic dishes are also available. The beer is served in steins, which completes the experience. The relaxed atmosphere in the beer garden invites you to linger – ideal for unwinding after a stressful day at work. We will definitely visit the Paulaner at Nockherberg again. Keep up the good work! You stand out clearly from other beer gardens in Munich and provide a truly enjoyable experience.

We had a lovely lunch with the family. The outdoor seating is beautiful, shaded by large trees, the food was excellent, and the staff extremely friendly. We'd love to come back! Highly recommended.

Vorspeisen Platten, Hauptgerichte wie das Wiener Schnitzel konnten ebenso überzeugen wie der gute Service, das Ambiente eines großen Biertempel und natürlich das Bier selbst. Es gibt immer eigene naturtrübe Bierkreationen. Es eignet sich auf Grund der Platzes der einzelnen Tische auch für Familien. Bioprodukte, nachhaltige Produkte etc. Haben auch einen höheren Preis, den ich hier für gerechtfertigt halte.

Update: I was there again yesterday: spare ribs with salad for €24 and a burger for €27 (??), which was apparently very good. The service was very good. I find the food in the waitress area quite expensive; reservations seem to be only available online – if you're calling, it should be possible to record the information and not cut off the customer. The food is beautifully presented, but the taste is somewhat disappointing. The beer is Paulaner, after all…

What a great time to sit outside and enjoy a great variety of beer and food… worth the stop and enjoy for as long as you want

We came here for a big team dinner event. Big space indoors and outdoors. Great decor and vibes. Nice lightning and ambience. Expensive but very good delicious food with large portions. The appetizers were tasty and goes well with the Paulaner dunkel beer. The main courses were very large in portion and we were all filled to the brim. We had a great time and it fulfilled my expectations. Will definitely come back again when I visit Munich.

6:45 p.m.: Outside in the waiting area, about half the tables are occupied. I sit down at a free table, but two waiters immediately send me away, telling me that everything is reserved. I go to another restaurant and come back about an hour and a half later. There are still free seats/tables. So, it wouldn't have been a problem to serve me a meal and drinks. But you apparently don't feel the need for a single guest. Pretty arrogant.

Schade, leider hat der nockherberg seine Gemütlichkeit verloren. Früher urig und als stammbiergarten prädestiniert, heute leider nur noch schickimicki, essen Durchschnitt und überteuert, wiener schnitzel aus der Fritteuse, lecker.... dazu auch mal gerne grantige Bedienungen. Es war nach langer Zeit wieder mal ein Versuch, aber künftig lassen wir das bleiben. sehr sehr schade.... Für das Geld kauf ich mir das Kalbfleisch lieber bei meinem Metzger, nehm auf den Rückweg noch einen Wein aus südtirol mit und mache es mir in entspannter Atmosphäre auf dem Balkon gemütlich.

Huge portions! Good selection of drinks. And especially, greeeeat atmosphere! Its a very pretty beergarden and very green.

It takes a special type of genius to take the best place in Munich and turn it into the worst, but this is what has been achieved. Returning here after 7 years, what do we find? Building: in an act of unspeakably barbaric vandalism, the inside has been ripped apart and a funky round bit added, thus completely ruining the conceptual integrity of the building. Beer: the beer here before was undoubtedly the best in Munich and in the top 5 in Germany; an incredible completely uncarbonated cloudy Keller bier that I would come here regularly just to drink. It's now been replaced by something which, while not too bad as such, isn't fit to lace the boots of the old beer; quite gassy and bland and hardly distinguishable from your average Paulaner rubbish. Food: the schnitzel here used to be the best in Munich. Now? It's obviously pre-made because the crust, smelling of stale oil, is completely detached from the bland overcooked beef. To add insult to injury, they charge 28 Euros for it. 28!!! To put that in context, Figlmüller, the best place in Vienna, only charge 18!!! What a disgrace. I didn't even get a chance to explain this, as we just got a muttered "das schmeckt" without even looking at us and the plates snatched away before I had a change to speak. Of course there was no query as to why 80% of the schnitzel was untouched; nobody could care less, it's not that sort of place. Whoever is responsible for ruining the old Nockherberg should hang their head in shame.

An absolute delight to always be back at the Paulaner in Munich! The place is vast, vibrant and filled with life. With a vast variety of seating spaces and beautifully curated menu options, this place is an absolute Bavarian glory! Loved their vegan options and enjoyed the experience.

We've been attending the Starbierfest for many, many years. We remember the old Nockherberg before it burned down. We always had fun and enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately, this year, as in the previous year, we noticed that the liter of beer was very poorly filled. Sometimes only 50% full. Even informing the wait staff didn't improve the situation. We were told to go to the tap master ourselves. An email to customer service received no response. Is it too much to ask if you only want what you paid for?

Paulaner am Nockherberg is a solid spot for classic Biergarten food. The atmosphere is lively and relaxed… exactly what you’d expect from a traditional Munich beer garden. Their schnitzel is pretty good and everything on the menu delivers those familiar, comforting flavors.

Bereits früh am Vormittag starteten wir eine Tagung mit ca. 350Teilnehmern. Das Paulaner-Nockherberg empfing uns mit einer großzügigen Lobby mit Möglichkeit Snacks und Getränke zu kaufen und zu konsumieren und einem Toll Ausgestatteten Tagungssaal. Ausgestattet mit modernster Technik - abgehängte Großbildschirme an der Decke, Tolle Bühnentechnik, Lautsprecher- /Ton- und Präsentationstechnik liessen keine Wünsche offen. Zur Abendveranstaltung war der Saal mit langen Tischen ausgestattet, es wurden Vorspeisenbretter aufgestellt, von denen man sich im Rahmen eines Tischbuffets bedienen konnte. Als Hauptgericht gab es „Böfflamott“, sehr weich geschmort mit aromatischer Sauce, aber auch alternativ ein Sellerieschnitzel für die Vegetarier-Fraktion. Das Dessert wurde in kleinen Weck-Gläsern serviert. Alles unaufdringlich, aufmerksam und zügig serviert. Nachservice und Getränkeversorgung waren vorbildlich! Sehr nettes und freundliches Service-Team.

The unfiltered Helles here was a masterpiece! It was naturally fresh and offered a rich malt aroma. And we could sense the passion for quality in the cleanliness of the glasses.

A huge disaster and no organization. The website says no reservations, but yesterday for the Champions League final, security didn't let us in, asking for reservations, even though you could see empty seats from outside and people were leaving in the meantime. 🤔 They even called the police. I will never go back to the place. Bad experience

I had a very bad experience at this venue. We were there to watch football. My partner left briefly, but was refused re-entry. Despite trying to explain the situation, I was not treated with any kind of compassion or understanding. The staff and management behaved extremely unprofessionally and disrespectfully. I will never visit this venue again and absolutely cannot recommend it.

In general, it has a simple and limited menu. It is very enjoyable to sit in the garden with fried chicken, potatoes and beer, especially if the weather is nice. On the other hand, the staff is quite troublesome, they make unnecessary jokes and then behave badly. Therefore, communication should be limited. Otherwise, it can be impertinent.

No, there was no food in the beer garden, despite the acceptable weather. I don't understand, closing time is 7 pm!!! Pure disappointment.

If the beer were as cold as the welcome, it might have earned another star. We were shown a table without a greeting and with a grumpy expression. The inn's novel and certainly expensive design is a matter of taste. I find it very inappropriate for a traditional and historic "brewery." Completely untypical for Munich, no "Helles" is offered. There's only wheat beer and a very spicy, naturally cloudy cellar beer. Also a matter of taste... I don't like it. We probably won't become regulars here.

Großartige Atmosphäre, gutes und gepflegtes Essen ( 2 Scheiben Schweinebraten, 2 Klöße, gute Soße separat in einer kleinen Sauciere und den Krautsalat in einem Töpfchen). Leider gibt es ab 17 Uhr das helle Bier nur als Maß 🤔 Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert
