Paulaner am Nockherberg in München

I have been to the Paulaner twice so far. Once in the summer, in the beer garden and recently in the winter time. Both visits were entirely positive. The food is very tasty and the portions are good. Personally, I like to experiment with traditional cuisine alongside the classics. The beer garden is not too cramped and is nice and big. The inside of the restaurant is simple with no frills and the Christmas decorations are not over the top, which I personally prefer. The restaurant offers a beautiful view over Munich. The waitresses are nice and unobtrusive. On the last visit, the young gentleman made a mistake when serving, but politely apologized. The toilets were clean. There are also free smartphone charging stations. The connection to public transport is not ideal, but that is complaining at a high level. The price increase has become clear, but classics are still within limits. A good alternative to the louder, more rustic Hofbräuhaus.

We were there with twelve people. Everything was perfectly prepared, the service was quick, friendly and professional. The food was great and so was the beer. The highlight (for me) were the cheese and pepper pretzels with the spicy dip! Absolute recommendation.

We wanted to have some of the food packed because we couldn't quite manage to eat it all. It costs 5 euros for packaging! What a disgrace!

Good portions at slightly higher prices. Service is quick and attentive. The so-called high tables are on the path of the service staff and are not the most comfortable. Ambience modern and classy, ​​but not exaggerated.

This place serves huge portions of high end foods, and has a large selection of historic locally brewed beers. The prices were really not that expensive considering the quality and quantity of what is served, especially the steaks.

Nice place to eat, reception was very nice, everything was reserved but empty 😄. We sat down at a table that didn't have a reserved sign. However, the waiter said it fell down. Of course it falls down. It was Sunday 4:30 p.m.! As if everything was reserved because that is the typical time for dinner. Oh well The food was beautifully prepared and also delicious, my salad dressing had a weak taste but all in all it was ok. Böfflemot and deer excellently and modernly presented. Come again. Even if you couldn't change the attachments! But gastronomy is not easy, neither for the guest nor for the restaurateur!

Wow! We are now regulars. Very good, unusual cuisine, friendly service, great Bavarian restaurant with fresh organic meat. I tried the winter menu today - GREAT! Best regards to the kitchen. Perfect dessert!

Very nice location and friendly staff, but unfortunately the food was a disaster... You can't use a different side dish or generally change components for any dish. It's a real shame for a restaurant like this. We all ordered the spare ribs for €28 and all of them were charred (see picture), as if they had all been forgotten on the grill. The meat was therefore very dry... there wasn't even any sauce. (Luckily we were able to reorder). But for €28 it's very overpriced for my taste. The waiter was very embarrassed and apologized for it. Unfortunately only 1 star because for us the food comes first with the price.

Very nice environment and quality traditional food. The portions are huge. The staff very kind.

It was a really great evening. We had reserved for 20 people, our service was very friendly, attentive and super fast. We all always had drinks and the food came quickly and at the same time. It was very tasty, fresh and creative. Gladly again, we all really enjoyed it. The only drawback is perhaps that half a beer costs 5.90, even though you are in/near the brewery. Otherwise highly recommended.

Very Bavarian. Actually delicious food, not ideal for vegetarians. However, I was brought the wrong food. Then we could no longer eat together. The error was not paid for on the invoice. Then we were given €4 as compensation, but it was immediately taken away again because another mistake was made on the invoice. All in all, poor service considering that you have to pay €7 for a bottle of still water...

Really nice food, with a lovely vegan option. No gluten free beer (otherwise it would have been 5 stars). Staff were very attentive.

Event with around 700 people, Oktoberfest style, unfortunately the food wasn't that good, it felt like the starter board had been on the table for half a day (liver cheese had already turned red, the spread had a dried edge..) Desserts weren't really good, the main course was okay . Everything in buffet form.

Schön gemacht (bezeichne das gerne als „edel-bayerisch“), Service sehr professionell. Abschläge in der Bewertung aufgrund des Essens, denn der Anspruch der Lokalität findet sich hier nicht ganz wieder: der Wurstsalat war nicht so gut wie in einem normalen Biergarten, der Kaiserschmarrn zu fettig.

A huge event hall. Perfect for large corporate events. At the same time, normal restaurant operations take place in the assigned premises

On November 9th, 2024 I was part of a mega event of 1000 women who celebrated an Oktoberfest. The banquet hall was beautifully decorated, the food was extremely good, the buffet had several stations, so the waiting time was short. It was also quickly refilled. The numerous waitresses were friendly and quick. All in all, super organized. It was an unforgettable celebration.

We made reservations for about 25 people, everyone got their drinks and food almost at the same time, nothing was missing. The food not only looked great, but also tasted excellent - from spare ribs, pulled pork burgers or roast pork - really perfect. The price is high, but definitely worth it. The service was exceptionally great!

We had dinner at the great location last night and then attended an event. Very nice service & mega delicious food. We particularly recommend the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. We'll be back :-)

Alles sehr lecker und die Küche traut sich bei wechselnder Karte immer auch an neue Gerichte außerhalb der typisch bayerischen Küche ran. Paulaner Bier und eigene Bier Kreationen wie Nockherberger Helles und Giassinger Bazzi, naturtrüb und süffig. Lokal für Bier Fans

Were on Saturday November 3rd. for lunch. once Pigners, once Böfflamotte. The meat was very good, as were the vegetables and the side dishes, unfortunately the temperature was only lukewarm, so only 4 points for the food. It was also inexplicable to the waiter why this was the case. We didn't have to pay for the espresso we ordered at the end, which was a very friendly gesture from the house. We will definitely come back because the taste and quality were simply first class.

The whole inn looks stylishly modern, but it lacks a bit of cosiness. The food, we had roast pork and spare ribs, was okay, but nothing more. The taste is very neutral (but I think the meat quality is good). Portions rather generous, prices high. The bad habit of charging extra for the coleslaw with the roast pork is also practiced here. In summary, you can eat better and cheaper in Munich. I didn't really like the light (Nockenberger), it's of course a matter of taste...

The good: Food is fine, although the menu remains almost the same all year round. Staff is mostly polite and professional. Prices are OK. The bad: The place was gentrified like so many other, it's now as typical Bavarian as a dog disguised as a cat. It's notoriously cold, seems that heating is non existent. No parking anywhere close, but again that's Munich. The ugly: At the time of my last visit there was restaurant manager, who at the slightest complaint told me that I am only guest and while the guest is king I should behave as a guest. I was told that the guy had already resigned from his job, so good news here at least. Summary: Nice for tourists, potential for more, but most likely no chance for that given the greedy approach of the current owners.

Excellent option for traditional German specialties and all the different styles of Paulaner beer. The duck and schnitzel were both favorites of our group as well as the kaiserschmarrn desert!

Excellent German food at a high quality (and high price) My favorite dishes were the knödel and Spätzle, but the party also enjoyed the bedf roulade. The deer hex dish was interesting. Appetizer portions were huge. Loved that they had 0.0% alcohol free beers to accommodate diverse customers. 100% recommended

The prices are a bit high. Overall, everything here is very solid. There was nothing to complain about during our visit. We can recommend the restaurant!

Basically a nice restaurant where you can also eat well. However, I didn't like the burger I ate. The meat was completely dry and overcooked, there was far too little cheese, hardly any sauce. Only the onion rings and the French fries tasted delicious.

The best beer garden and tavern food in the city. Not exactly cheap, but the price-performance ratio is very good. My recommendation includes the fried chicken salad.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Paulaner Nockeberg restaurant recently and it was an absolute highlight. As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The decor is modern yet cozy, perfect for a relaxed dinner.

Tolle Location, sehr atmosphärisch, guter Service und hervorragendes Bayrisches Essen. Parken direkt in der hauseigenen Tiefgarage. Immer wieder gerne!

Das Paulaner am Nockherberg ist ein beeindruckendes Gebäude, riesengross und vielleicht etwas zu laut, je nachdem wo man sitzt. Die Speisen kommen zu zügig an, um länger zu verweilen … man hat den Eindruck schnell abgewickelt zu werden, um den Tisch erneut zu vergeben. Die deftigen, bayrischen Speisen sind quantitativ hochwertig und kaum jemand braucht hier eine Vorspeise, um satt zu werden. Wir waren an einem regnerischen Septemberabend dort und ich kann mir vorstellen, dass man hier eine großartige Zeit im Sommer im Biergarten verbringen kann. Auf jeden Fall kommen wir wieder … zur Sommerzeit!

Die Speisekarte ist sehr überschaubar, aber alle bestellten Gerichte waren sehr lecker und von frischer guter Qualität. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und alles gepflegt und sehr sauber. Absolut weiter zu empfehlen!!!

Die Gläser waren oft leer. Brot musste für die Brotzeitplatten nachbestellt werden; konnte unsere Bedienung nicht finden. Am Nebentisch war es sehr laut. Unterhaltungen waren schlecht möglich. Qualität der Speiscen waren sehr gut. Nur die Brotscheiben waren am Rand etwas eingetrocknet; Brot war auch knapp. Besonders hevorheben möchte ich den Kaiserschmarrn. Einer der besten, die ich jemals gegessen habe. Innen schön fluffig und außen leicht karamelisiert.

One of the Paulaner temples in Munich. The place inside is wonderful, it has incredible decoration. We ordered a tasting board of several types of paulaners and they were all very delicious. Then we repeat the most legendary ones in pint size, the lager and the wheat one haha Good service and good treatment. It is worth taking a look around the place and going up to the upper floor. Huge venue for dinners and events. Highly recommended to visit if you are a fan of the brand.

We were there for the New Year's Eve Oktoberfest!! It was just bomb!! Service, staff, food, drinks and the price/performance ratio were 1a*****!!! We thank you again for the great evening and will definitely come back again!! Greetings Claudia & Dirk

I’m surprised at how rude and antipathetic the servers are. Second time in a row with a similar experience, different servers. Food, drinks and ambience are really nice, specially going to the biergarten where is self-service

Wir hatten zwei Reservierungen an diesem Tag, welche wir extra für draussen vorgenommen hatten. Als wir am frühen Abend ankamen, hiess es, dass der Biergarten geschlossen ist. Dies war für uns nicht wirklich verständlich, da es ein sehr schöner und warmer Tag war. Auch der Ton, in welchem mit uns gesprochen wurde, fanden wir sehr unpassend. Als wir dann drinnen nochmals fragten, hiess es, dass wir doch draussen sitzen konnten. Nachdem wir draussen gegessen hatten, kamen weitere Personen hinzu, wesshalb wir eine zweite Reservierung vor nahmen. Als wir dann unsere angebrochenen Getränke von draussen rein nahmen, wurden wir vom Kellner zur rede gestellt, von wo wir diese hätten. Das empfanden wir als äusserts unfreundlich. Wir haben alles erklärt und der Kellner lief einfach weg ohne uns weiter zu bedienen - obwohl die neuen Gäste die dazukamen noch nichts hatten. Es kam dann eine Entschuldigung von einem anderen Kellern - nichts desto trotz empfanden wir das als sehr unprofessionell. Generell war das Ambiente sehr schön und das Essen lecker. Jedoch bleibt vorallem das unfreundliche Personal in Erinnerung - schade um das schöne Lokal.

Best ver uit het centrum maar omdat we altijd goede ervaringen hebben bij Paulaner in andere steden toch met de bus erheen gegaan. Proeverij was matig. Glazen verschillend gevuld en geen uitleg of kaartjes erbij. Op het bijgerecht moesten we lang wachten en hadden een zeer onvriendelijke ober. Iets wat toch wat van de pret eraf haalde. Jammer en teleurstellend.

Das Paulaner am Nockerberg war mal ein richtig uriges, gemütliches Restaurant. Leider mutet es mittlerweile eher an einen touristischen Kantinenbetrieb an. Kaum bestellt erhielt ich neben einem zweifelsfrei leckeren Paulaner nach 2 Minuten bereits den Schweinebraten. Die Kruste war keine, der Braten und die Sosse in Richtung geschmacksfrei, und die Knödel waren ok aber auch nicht mehr. Geschmacklicher Höhepunkt war das in der Sosse ertrinkende Gemüse. Das geht in anderen Brauereigaststätten deutlich besser. Schade.

We had dinner here with friends. It is quite loud due to the open ambience. The selection of food is good but also a bit expensive. My Wienerschnitzel was a bit too flat and a bit too salty. My husband's meat (böfflamott) was beautifully prepared and super tender. I like how colorful the vegetables are arranged on the plate. The service was polite and courteous.

Die einzige schlechte Erfahrung war die Dame am Empfang, die uns zum Tisch begleitet hat. Sie war sehr arrogant und schlecht gelaunt.

The food was excellent, the group was a bit larger at over 20 people. Some drink orders had to be repeated again and sometimes some glasses remained empty longer than desired, but the service overall was relatively attentive, good and always friendly.

Top gastronomy, reasonable prices!

Schweinebraten ist als Klassiker auf der Speisekarte verzeichnet. Für eine Brauereigaststätte durchaus auch ein gewisses Aushängeschild. Was dann aber meiner Frau und mir serviert wurde, war der schlechteste Schweinebraten, den wir jemals gegessen haben. Zweidrittel waren einfach nur Fett. Das ganze auch noch lauwarm. Nie wieder!

Managed to get a table with the family on a busy Wednesday night, the place was packed to the rafters! The staff told us we could seat indoors without a reservation. The staff was very friendly and helped us knowing that we were foreigners. We asked for tap water but our waitress politely told us that it was not customary for free here and that we had to pay. Attentive and would come by to the table even though we were not seated near the main dining area! The food was also great, I took the venison knuckle because it was something back home does not really have and it was delicious and soft! Price wise might be pricier than usual but not overly. Their brewed beer was also delicious and could really taste the sweetness of the wheat. Would recommend if you are around the area for at least a pint!

It's been a long time and I wasn't disappointed at all. Unfiltered beer was extremely drinkable, spare ribs with salad, fries (extra) were sensational and a AAA recommendation. Well, that's the quality and the price.

Unser Besuch bei euch war einfach fantastisch! Wir haben ein perfekt zubereitetes Wiener Schnitzel und einen herzhaften Schweinebraten genossen – beide Gerichte waren auf den Punkt und unglaublich lecker. Dazu ein frisches, kühles Paulaner Bier – das rundete das bayerische Erlebnis wunderbar ab. Die gemütliche Atmosphäre und der aufmerksame Service haben uns das Gefühl gegeben, rundum willkommen zu sein. Ein großartiger Ort, um traditionelle bayerische Küche zu erleben – absolut empfehlenswert!

Well-kept atmosphere, good food and friendly service

The food was excellent! I tried Venison Knuckle, and I was pleasantly surprised at how tender it was. However, the staff was very unpleasant and rude when we tried to order. When he delivered our food, he tried to be funny. Once he delivered our food, he completely forgot about us. Overall, the service was very poor.

Is it normal for the waiter to ask me for a tip before he had finished keeping our drinks on the table ? Will come again for great food and beer, but this is the second time that the waiters asked for a tip. It is an immediate put off. Either the restaurant doesn't pay the waiters, or the waiters need to be trained.

Great beer garden, nice atmosphere. Pitches with umbrellas and roofs available. There was a thunderstorm today, no problem with the seats in the beer garden. The food was a bit dry around 8 p.m. today. (Hendl with fries). But the beer was, as always, very good. Everything just like in the advertising. This is a piece of Munich. Thank you again and again. We were not aware that during warmer and favorable weather, the indoor seating area closes and only outdoor seating is available. If we’d known, we would’ve taken a cab instead walking (it was a long walk and we looked forward to cooling down in the AC with a cold draught). We were also offered a bar-height shared table, which again we weren’t expecting. In the end, we were seated at our own table in the breezy shade and had a perfectly enjoyable experience. Food and beer were delicious, ambiance was pleasant, and service was courteous.
