Great food and atmosphere, service a bit slow at times

Ate here last week, possibly my favorite meal on my visit to Germany! Friendly and helpful staff, warm atmosphere, and great food!

It's a very nice Bavarian restaurant. It is located away from the city at the English Garden. It's quiet and not overcrowded with tourists.

Come and eat here only if you speak German. Reservation with The Fork, confirmed but not taken into consideration by the restaurant. Difficulty ordering: for us the courses were "finished" and difficulty communicating in both English and Italian...until the moment of payment. They spoke Italian for the bill and asking for a tip.

The atmosphere was great and the Bavarian food was delicious!

Came here excited to try some authentic German food, but our group of 6 (Americans) was placed in the back and then basically ignored by our waiter. Waited 45 minutes and then we just got the bill for our coffee and found food elsewhere. Would not recommend for tourists!

Eating and drinking in a cozy restaurant with friendly service and delicious food was good for body and soul

Never as unfriendly as today September 27th. Was turned away by a service employee at 8:10 p.m. When asked if there was still a table for two, only an unfriendly "No.", no "please wait" or "when?" Just "No."

A table was booked at lunchtime via OpenTable, when we arrived at the restaurant we were told we didn't have a reservation (even though I showed it, I was told 3 hours in advance that this was probably no longer possible, ah that of course makes sense... I almost had to apologize for that 😅). After a short discussion, we were given (oh surprise, the “last” one, of course) a free and uncomfortable seat in the middle aisle, where neither we nor the neighboring table could eat properly because no one really came by (not even the nice staff). In case I haven't mentioned it yet, the entire staff was very unfriendly from start to finish and didn't give the impression that they were happy to serve the guests, and there was no apology for the circumstances (funny insert: the neighboring table also had to leave because of a "reservation problem “Turn around and have your Kaiserschmarrn at the bar, that was really amazing, dear friends 😂). The food was average at best, the Wiener Schnitzel was a better pork schnitzel and the sauerbraten with red cabbage was a floating feast along with the “sauce”. After the beers were empty, the staff walked past it in a very businesslike manner, but they didn't ask for a new round (even several times) (after all, you can't force your dear friends to sell). The theater play was quickly over after a good hour, we paid in no time and left the restaurant into the beautiful outside area where, thank God, we found a better place afterwards.

The restaurant and beer garden are wonderful. The food was delicious. But the service was disappointing. The spritz almost spilled out when served. Too bad.

Wanted to have breakfast with a Neotaste 2 for 1 voucher. After arriving and waiting 20 minutes for the unfriendly conditions, we asked whether the two-person breakfast for €28 was included at half price, which was answered in the affirmative. When we paid we noticed that it was stated on the bill as €18. We didn't think so crazy because the food itself was good and since we came out with a cappuccino and extra bread for €28, I wanted to round it up to €30 with a tip. The fact that I later saw on my cell phone that the waitress had deducted €35 ​​from my card (which of course I didn't check when paying) is really just criminal and cannot be excused by any typos on the card machine. It seems as if someone wanted to enrich themselves from us and smelled easy money. As I said, the food itself was good, but we honestly won't be coming back because of crap like that!

Delicious schnitzel, spaetzle and salad plus friendly service. Bartender opened a fresh bag of coffee so we could have beans for our digestive Sambucas.

Food was tasty, prices were okay

The food wasn't bad, but unfortunately it wasn't that warm. The service can definitely be improved. Ordered additional gravy, arrived late. We were already through that.

This place is a real discovery! Not only the food is delicious but they have the best waiter in town! Gasi (Gazment) is super efficient and friendly, he also welcomes you with charm and treats clients with so much grace. Mostly local clients but they communicate in English and other languages. They have English Menu and the tap beer is phenomenal. Dear restaurant owners you better take care of your staff, they are one of kind or some else will do it for you in another restaurant

Spontaneously went into the restaurant and asked for Käsespatzl, received a very nice welcome and the portion was a dream!😍😍 I would go there again and again and recommend it wholeheartedly! Thank you again 😍

Breakfast was very good, we had a Scandinavian with salmon and shrimps, and a New York with pancakes etc. Absolutely sufficient for two people. Everything we ordered came quickly and was freshly prepared. The atmosphere was great too.

Service totally unfriendly! We specifically asked if the dog was allowed in and then said stupid things when the dog barked. Plus, they all look pretty unfriendly here and make you feel uncomfortable. It doesn't work at all!!

Great waiter who also knows how to have fun 😁 We ate very well, especially the sausage salad was super tasty and we were served excellently!

Gestresstes Personal. Halbe Stunde Wartezeit nur für die Getränke. Essen kam zügig, jedoch nicht das was wir bestellt hatten. Aus Angst vor ewigen Wartezeiten, die uns von anderen Gästen mit geteilt wurden, haben wir es trotzdem gegessen. Ein 2.Getränk wurde nicht gebracht. Wohl gemerkt das Restaurant war nicht voll, nur der kleine Biergarten war gut besucht. Mehrere Gäste waren unzufrieden und haben sich beschwert. Bei einem kurzem Smaltalk über d.was schief gelaufen war beim Aufenthalt, wurde uns gesagt " tja, viel Tourismus". Welche Rolle spielt es, wen man bedient?

in unvergesslicher Abend bei Leib und Seele, München Leib und Seele hält, was es verspricht! Wir waren zu viert in München unterwegs, haben den Surfern am Eisbach zugeschaut und danach im Biergarten Leib und Seele gegessen. Die Atmosphäre war gemütlich und einladend, perfekt für einen entspannten Abend. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam, und wir fühlten uns wie Gäste behandelt. Das Essen war ein Highlight. Die Preis-Leistung für München war unschlagbar. Wir genossen schöne Portionen und super leckeres Essen. Der Schweinsbraten war ein Genuss, auch wenn er etwas lauwarm serviert wurde. Der kalte Braten war wunderbar angerichtet und in einer schönen Portion. Die Bierkultur war ebenfalls beeindruckend. Alles in allem war es eine voll empfehlenswerte Erfahrung. München als Weltstadt spürt man in Leib und Seele. Gastronomen sollten sich ein Beispiel daran nehmen, wie man mit Gästen umgeht. Fazit Leib und Seele ist ein Muss für jeden München-Besucher. Leib & Seele is a fantastic and authentic local Bavarian spot nestled right on the edge of the Englischer Garten in the Alstadt-lehel part of Munich. Not a tourist trap, and very welcoming and accommodating for all ages. We enjoyed schnitzel, pretzels, breakfast, and beer and turned it into our go-to spot while staying in the area. Make it a point to come if you are in town!

They charged predefined 5€ tip (no extra bread of water)!! Also price on the menu is not including tax!! Otherwise, food is mediocre. Seems like the Kaiserschmarren recipe is changed. It wasn’t crispy, so not recommendable.

Leib und Seele is a real Bavarian gem with a wonderful outdoor terrace right next to the English Garden 🍻🌳 Not as crowded as the university district, it offers a quiet atmosphere and excellent food - the goat cheese salad in particular is a must!💯 We are already looking forward to our next visit 🙌🏽

Small beer garden on a traffic-calmed street. We sat on the terrace… it was nice, but nothing extraordinary. I was a bit disappointed with the knuckle, the meat wasn't particularly juicy and there was almost no rind left. Service was good but wasn't particularly friendly (typical Munich)

The rustic, pointed location of the inn with a small beer garden in front is one thing. The down-to-earth, good cuisine and the friendly staff are another. Only recommended!

Great beer and delicious food! We had a good time and are happy for the Slovak national team! The atmosphere is great, the service is at the highest level. The dishes were tasty and well prepared, and the beer in Germany always pleases with its taste. The staff is friendly and attentive, which made our evening even more pleasant. Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in gemütlicher, uriger Atmosphäre und mit sehr freundlicher, zuvorkommender Bedienung. Und das traditionelle Weißwurst-Frühstück war super 👍

Menu of the day very rich and recommended. We had the special dishes of the day and they were a success, a very tasty meat pie and a pasta with spinach that was also very delicious at a reasonable price. If you are taking a step through the park or the area, a place where it is worth stopping to recharge your batteries. Special mention to the waitress who gave us all kinds of explanations in perfect English that made us choose the right menu.

We were there with 3 people for a late breakfast. You could sit outside on an extra platform. Despite the location between two streets, no street noise could be heard. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and not expensive, rather lower level for Munich. After we often test places for breakfast in Munich and the surrounding area, we would definitely visit again.

It doesn't have the name for nothing. As they say, it really holds body and soul together. It was good to eat and pleasant to sit in rustic furnishings. A really nice Bavarian inn in the middle of Munich.

Wir waren mit 3 Personen zum späten Frühstück dort. Man konnte im Freien auf einer extra Plattform sitzen. Trotz der Lage zwischen zwei Straßen war kein Straßenlärm zu hören. Das Frühstück war reichlich, vielfältig und nicht teuer, eher für München unteres Level. Nachdem wir in München und Umgebung öfter Lokalitäten zum Frühstücken testen, würden wir Leib und Seele sicher wieder besuchen.

What would we have missed if we hadn't discovered this place by chance. 😊 There is a good selection of regional dishes, with something for every taste and the food tastes simply fantastic. The service was incredibly nice, warm and courteous - the name of the restaurant says it all. So if you want to enjoy yourself, you should come here to eat.

Average food in a nice location near the English Garden. What brings me to this bad review was the unfortunately really bad service. We haven't experienced anything like that in a long time. We were a group of 5 people. After we were only served upon repeated requests (it wasn't particularly full), three drinks were missing and dessert was also forgotten. Unfortunately, after asking again, there was no apology but only a stroppy “well, I forgot”. Good service can be done differently... instead of the usual 10% tip, we just rounded it up to the next sensible amount for the reasons mentioned and the colleague then laughed loudly about it/got upset about it. Conclusion: unfortunately unprofessional service and there are much better alternatives.

The food was very tasty. The atmosphere is very relaxed by Munich standards. We were served by a gentleman with long black hair who seemed hopelessly overwhelmed with 15 people he had to serve. It took him 40 minutes to finish the drinks, but then he only brought 3 out of 4 ordered. He didn't bring bread to the snack board for 10 minutes and he didn't need the apple cake that one of us wanted for dessert. When this was pointed out, there was no apology or a “the coffee is on the house for the inconvenience” but rather, as a cherry on top, he complained loudly to his colleague that we only tipped €2 for €115 (especially since he didn't even That's a shame! Would have deserved 5 stars with good service...

Nice restaurant, not far from the Isar and the English Garden. Food was ok, good but not exceptional. Unfortunately, potato rosti were pre-made and the pork medallions were more like schnitzel. We had a voucher that we registered before ordering and so no problems. Breakfast is very good here. And it's not expensive.

One of the best Bavarian restaurants in all of Germany. I went to a few different cities and this place had the best German dishes. It’s also on a nice quiet street next to the English garden so a great place for a lunch hangout or visit. The staff is also very nice and accommodating.

Discovered by chance because we were nearby - first sat in the garden, then briefly inside the restaurant. Nice friendly service, good beer and wine spritzer - food was really great - not to mention almost the best bread! Everything is fresh, crispy and the way it should be. Toilets are clean

Unfortunately, spinach spaetzle was totally watery and mushy.

Below average food at above average prices. The dumplings (ravioli) were particularly disappointing. I can make this tastier in just 10 minutes with a pack of Aldi ravioli.

Super delicious food with an inviting seasonal menu! Super friendly employees who do their job with passion. The atmosphere is very cozy and makes you forget your stressful everyday life. We can only recommend this restaurant!!!

We were greeted warmly, had a NEOTASTE 10€ voucher and wanted to take a look at the body and soul. We had a snack board and shared it with each other. There was already a bit of bread on Sunday evening. No onions on the Obatzter. Bill 26.10€ unfortunately our NEO TASTE voucher was applied but the waiter didn't redeem it. Unfortunately, it's a shame. Because all in all, everything went well. But when I take part in a program where you give the customer advantages. Then you should adhere to these. Tip for next time.

This was an online order: I have to say the food is otherwise excellent, but this time the schnitzel was WAY over-fried or too dry. The salad was great but the Kaiserschmarrn was very sad, just like the schnitzel, far too dark, hard and dry. (It's a shame, you shouldn't leave something like that out of the kitchen)

The establishment is terrible! The service is really disgusting, there is chauvinism on the part of local restaurant guests and waiters! I absolutely do not recommend!!!
