Panorama Restaurant in Saarburg

The food is fine, but nothing special. The service is the same. However, the atmosphere is incredibly sad. There's no music playing, and that would be a huge help.

Unfortunately, a complete disappointment. The tables were dirty, the food was completely deep-fried and consequently tasted very bland. The prices are restaurant-level, but there wasn't even any table service. On top of that, it was far too cold inside. We even changed tables, but it didn't improve. Basically, it's just a kebab shop with a deep fryer that only survives because of its location. Next time, drive down to the village – you'll get significantly better quality for the same price.

Picked up pizzas, friendly ladies at the counter, and the food was ready quickly. The pizzas were fine, but nothing special.

The food was delicious, but the view comes at a price. We were completely satisfied.

Unfortunately, on October 29, 2025, at around 1:15 p.m., we found the door locked despite the "open" sign.

Just had dinner at Bistro Panorama. The service was incredibly friendly. They have simple dishes like pizza, pasta, and kebab on the menu. We had the Döner Teller, a plate of doner meat, a delicious salad, and fries (14 euros). It was delicious. In good weather, you can enjoy the beautiful view from the cozy terrace.

I sat here on the terrace every evening. I had dinner twice, the pizzas are especially delicious. Or I just had a beer and enjoyed the view over the valley. It was wonderful to unwind and relax. The staff is friendly. They're not exactly fast, but when you're on vacation yourself, that's no problem for me. Otherwise, you can grab something yourself at the bar. From Landal Warsberg, it's about a 1km walk (depending on where you're staying on the campsite). The bistro is near the toboggan run/cable car. For me, this was a spot I really enjoyed.

Delicious food and not expensive

We had a wonderful meal with a beautiful view! The margarita pizza was delicious, and the double currywurst was also superb! The service was also very friendly.

We just arrived at the Landal Park. We were tired and hungry. Than we stumbled upon this place and we ordered the Doner. This is what a Doner sandwich should be. IT WAS DELICIOUS. I'll be back.

The food tasted good. The atmosphere inside was practically nonexistent. The restrooms were dirty. It took a long time for someone to come to our table to take our order. One dish was forgotten. We sat inside, where there was only one other table occupied. The outdoor patio was almost full. Dogs were allowed inside on a leash.

We had lunch at Bistro Panorama this afternoon. We had a lovely spot on the terrace. Phenomenal views over the Saar Valley, much better than the photo suggests. The menu offers a selection of döner, falafel, pizza, pasta, and salads. Everything was delicious. The prices are very reasonable for this particularly touristy location. Bistro Panorama is located right next to the start of the Saarburg Summer Toboggan Run (which we noticed closes in rain) and the highest point of the Saarburger Sesselbahn (chairlift). There's a small playground right next to the terrace and a slightly larger one at the back of the restaurant. Older reviews mentioned pancakes and Dutch owners, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

We took the cable car up today and had lunch here. A seat in the shade on the terrace, a small but good menu. Friendly staff, and perfectly reasonable prices. We had a salad and a doner kebab. Both were very tasty, nicely presented, and the portions were generous. We were satisfied and full.

We were there on a Friday afternoon to enjoy the "panorama" AND have something to eat. Well, the panorama left a lot to be desired; I had hoped for better. You could only see a little of the valley, but that wasn't due to the weather. We then ordered a yufka and a Hawaiian pizza. Both were quite bland; I've rarely had such a bad yufka. We would certainly have had better food in Saarburg city. A shame. Not recommended.

We visited Panorama several times during our vacation to be pampered in the evenings and enjoy the excellent food. The friendly staff knew exactly what we wanted to drink, so we never had to wait long. The "Panorama" salad, which we tried right away, was very good and we would eat it again anytime. Many thanks to the team, you made our vacation perfect.

The food was okay, the service was friendly and reasonably fast. Little variation on the menu. Pizza pasta or a doner dish. There was far too little meat in the tortilla. Quality was fine. The business has potential but it doesn't use it, a pity. We'll walk to the village below next time.

Price quality ratio was good. Large portions for what you ordered. Beautiful view! Incredibly friendly staff. We came with three small children who were throwing their butts in the crib. No problem with the busy behavior. Instead, my sad son got a toy helicopter to play with. When the boys didn't eat anything either, we were allowed to take the pizza with us. Sweet staff! Nice place!

We were there today and had pizza. It tasted great, the dough was perfect. Very friendly staff!

We visited Bistro Panorama for the first time since the change of ownership...unfortunately, they no longer serve the Dutch snacks, which were very tasty. They now serve kebabs and pizza – but there are plenty of those in Saarburg, so we won't be going back. Of course, the terrace is a great place to sit when the weather is nice. Unfortunately, the service hardly speaks any German, and the music in the background was more Turkish, which didn't fit the atmosphere of the summer toboggan run. The pizza we ate tasted good. However, the price of €14 for a salami pizza is quite expensive – and the prices on the menu don't match those on the website; they're more expensive!

Unfortunately disappointing – not recommended We recently went to Bistro Panorama in Saarburg and were unfortunately very disappointed. The food was of poor quality - carelessly prepared and not very tasty in terms of taste. Particularly annoying: Our order was taken incorrectly, and instead of correcting the errors, we were simply given the wrong food - without an apology or a suggested solution. The service seemed uncoordinated and not very trying. You could have expected a lot more for a restaurant with such a beautiful location. It's a shame - we won't be coming back.

We were staying at Landal Warsberg and decided to eat in here one night. What a great decision that was. The view you get is unreal, such a nice place to sit and eat. Couple of little parks for young kids to play at. The food was excellent, one of the best pizzas I have had in a long time. Wow are going to stay at Landal Warsberg again in future so we will definitely eat in here again. Only let down was the service, it was extremely slow and non existent. We’d also nothing fir one of my friends children who had allergies so all she could eat was chips. So if you have allergies or are vegan then this is not place for you.

New owner, sorry but the menu is completely new, feels like a kebab shop, I go up there especially for the currywurst and fries. The currywurst is no longer available and the fries are standard and have nothing in common with the old ones. Some of them don't speak German.

Tested Panorama today with a new tenant: When it rains and is cold, it is bitterly cold in the restaurant with the doors wide open. The waitress doesn't speak a word of German. The crowning achievement is the kebab, which to my amazement doesn't have the usual garlic sauce, but a kind of BBQ sauce. Doner kebab completely cold. At least when you pay you experience top class: 1 cold BBQ kebab, 1 cold falafel, 2 cokes = €25

Can’t beat the view! It’s a plus that there’s a bistro at the top of this hill. The staff speak English, German, and possibly Dutch. Very nice and the food is good.

What wonderful and friendly owners!! We had a delicious drink and meal here. We brought our dog with us and a cookie and a bowl of water were immediately provided. So thoughtful! The view here is beautiful. So we enjoyed this terrace.

Lovely views from the outside terrace the food was okay but not amazing. The staff were lovely and the drinks are not too badly priced considering the view it's €3.50 for a soft drink €8.50 for a cocktail and €5 for a beer

Incomprehensible The people at the toboggan run do their utmost to make something of it, but the guests have nowhere to sit, drink or eat something. A missed opportunity. And closed at 6 p.m. on other days. There is so much more to get out of the location, but if the owner(s) do not fully commit to it, and especially during the high season, are open until 9 p.m. where you can relax and have a snack, it will cost a lot of turnover. Shame

Very tasty food. Very nice view, lots of parking. Playground ideal. The disadvantage is that there is a toboggan run and a ski lift. This means there are many people waiting, which limits your view. Food is very good, you can order it yourself and pick it up at the bar. Dutch people finally don't eat fat for once ❤️

Very good restaurant and nothing is too much to ask. And what good service. And a plus for us. They have 2 gluten-free dishes on the menu, but if you ask they can also make other dishes gluten-free. And they have a separate chip shop where they bake (gluten-free) fries. So for us with a son who has celiac disease, a good experience. And the restaurant is next to the toboggan run. And a great view above Saarburg. (and next to the Landal Park Warsberg) we come here. definitely back!!!!

Clean and spacious restaurant with a large terrace. The Dutch service is friendly. We were there when it was very quiet. Highly recommended. Cable car costs €7 pp.

Nice friendly owners, who happened to be Dutch. Currywurst is great, beer is great. Also try a Nobeltje. Pure or mixed, you will be amazed by the taste. Afterwards you walk within 20 meters to the toboggan run. Located next to Landal Warsberg. Absolutely great.

It was so wonderful! Such a fantastic restaurant with incredibly friendly and attentive service! We tried various Dutch snacks, were offered a very tasty rum liqueur, and as soon as we are back in the area we will visit this place again! Pommes und Currywurst haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Auf der Terrasse kann man bei gutem Wetter gut sitzen. Wunderbare Aussicht.

Zeer mooi gelegen door Nederlanders gerund restaurant. Eten is gewoon prima. Uitzicht is Super. Rodelbaan ligt er pal naast.. evenals een stoeltjeslift naar... Saarburg ik kan hier de hele dag zitten. Met warme dagen kunnen er minder mensen plaats nemen. Soms dus even wachten op een plekje. Kortom er wordt gedacht aan eigen personeel wat met 30 graden plus toch niet zo gek is?? De gezondheid van de mens staat boven de inkomsten. Top management.

Pas de laatste avond hier gezeten, tegen sluitingstijd. Maar we mochten nog een drankje komen doen. Met een klein clubje en een zangeres zat de sfeer er goed in en werd dat ene drankje er nog vier. De mensen die er werken zijn toppers, super gastvrij en vriendelijk! Deze plek is een aanrader, als we deze eerder hadden 'ontdekt' waren we hier zeker (meerdere keren) gaan eten. Dank voor de beste avond van de vakantie!!!

We hebben hier heerlijk geluncht, met een adembenemend uitzicht en enorm gastvrij personeel. En altijd leuk om enthousiaste horeca mensen uit Nederland te ontmoeten die met passie het avontuur zijn aangegaan. Ga zo door!

Zeer goed eten met een prachtig uitzicht.

Leuk restaurant, eigenaar (denk ik) spreekt Nederlands. Wij hebben hier koffie met gebak gehad. Dat was allemaal erg goed geregeld. Het restaurant zit naast de rodelbaan, dus het kan wel aardig druk zijn. Op het terras heb je mooi uitzicht. Wij hadden zin in een pannekoek, die stond bij de ingang op het bord. Maar helaas mochten wij die dag (of moment) alleen van de witte kaart kiezen. Daar stond veel minder op. Betalen kan zowel contant of met pin hier. Er is ook een wc aanwezig voor betalende klanten.

In de bistro op het terras koffie gedronken. Goede koffie en warm. Toegang tot het terras alleen via de hoofdingang. Daar is de toegang afgesloten met een lint. Even wachten om toegang te krijgen. Gevraagd wat de reden hiervoor is. Bedoeld om de toegang te reguleren zodat drukte binnen en op het terras vermeden kan worden. De bistro kan worden verlaten via het terras na afrekenen door een ketting tijdelijk te verwijderen. Het is maar dat je het weet.

Das ist ein Super Restaurant! Dort gibt es auch eine sehr sehr gute Aussicht👍Das Essen und der Service ist auch super! Die Preise sind auch gut für das was man bekommt 👍 NUR ZU EMPFEHLEN👍👍👍

Hier zijn wij met zijn vieren in twee weken vier keer gaan eten. Wat een fijn terras met werkelijk een adembenemend uitzicht over Saarburg, de Saar en achterliggend heuvel landschap. Het eten was er erg lekker en voor de vele Nederlanders is het makkelijk communiceren want er werk veel Nederlands personeel. Iedereen was er heel vriendelijk. Ook voor de kinderen is er een fijne speelplaats naast het terras. Tevens is dit ook de locatie waar je op de rodelbaan kan stappen of met de kabelbaan heen en weer naar Saarburg kunt gaan. Ook binnen ziet er erg netjes en sfeervol uit. Wij hebben echter alleen op het terras gezeten. Dit is een echte aanrader voor een drankje en een hapje.

Fantastische locatie met Panorama uitzicht. Wij hebben elke keer opnieuw genoten van de heerlijke geserveerde gerechten, want bij deze bistro blijf je steeds weer terugkomen. Zeer lief en gezellig personeel, die ruimschoots de tijd voor je nemen. En hier thuis blijf ik maar dromen over die speciaal voor mij gemaakte pannenkoek met Nutella.......

Geweldige Bistro. Eten is goed, redelijke prijzen. Hele leuke, gezellige (Nederlandse) eigenaren en vriendelijk personeel. Het terras is top! Het uitzicht is geweldig! Terras is sfeervol en overal staan mooie bloembakken. Het terras ziet er verzorgd uit. Je kunt dichtbij parkeren. Er naast zit een rodelbahn en je kunt er wandelen in een prachtige omgeving. Wij verbleven in een huisje op Landal Warsberg. Je loopt dan zo door het bos naar het Panorama Cafe. Wij zijn er vaak geweest en hopen zeker terug te komen.

Heerlijk genoten van het uitzicht. Vriendelijk personeel en het eten was ook heerlijk.

Helemaal top. Mooi uitzicht. Goede snelle vriendelijke bediening. Hier kun je wel lunchgerechten bestellen.

Immerhin, wir haben noch Pfannkuchen mit Nutella bekommen. Aber das halbe Glas hätte jetzt nicht drauf gemusst. Der Wein war gut, da hätte ich auch noch mehr von genommen. Leider haben sich die drei jungen Servicekräfte immer gut zwischen Ausgang und Terrasse versteckt und waren unaufmerksam. Ja, gutes Personal ist scheinbar auch hier schwer zu bekommen.

Nous avons bien mangé, c’était très bon et de très bonnes quantités ! Par contre très peu de choix dans les desserts, et parler allemand ou avoir Google translater est indispensable car personne ne parle français dans le bistro.

Sehr auf Tourismus ausgelegt. Nette Leute dort allerdings war das Essen wirklich fragwürdig. Strammer Max mit ungetoastetem Toastbrot statt mit gutem Brot und billigem Kochschinken statt rohem Schinken? Das ist schon eine sehr fragwürdige Interpretation. Die Gaststätte hat ein Monopol dort wo sie ist und das merkt man in der Qualität der Speisen! Der Wein war lecker und preiswert, die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das gibt immerhin einen zweiten Stern.

Tot de volgende keer weer! 😃 We waren hier al enkele keren. Telkens opnieuw op de eenzelfde manier ontvangen, bediening, alles gelijkaardig. Top! Dat moet je toch maar kunnen. Ik vind het persoonlijk intriest dat mensen hun eigen emoties laten gelden door deze hardwerkende mensen een negatieve review te geven. Zoals de toiletten...

Kommen gerne immer wieder!!! Und da sind wir wieder! Es geht kein Jahr vorbei, wo wir nicht hier verweilen, den Ausblick genießen und uns köstlich bewirten lassen! Jeder der einfach nur mal Ruhe sucht, eine wunderschöne Landschaft und eine sagenhafte Gastfreundschaft genießen möchte, sollte unbedingt das Navi hierher programmieren!!! Danke für diesen tollen Herbst und wir sehnen uns jetzt schon nach der nächsten Ankunft!!! Die Geschichte geht weiter... Mai 2022 und wir sind gerne wieder hier! Entspannung pur auf der Sonnenterrasse! Das Team ist wie immer super und Essen und Trinken lecker und bezahlbar! Und da sind wir wieder! April 2023 und treu wieder Gäste im Bistro Panorama! Es ist home-coming-feeling! Couchecke oder Sonnenterrasse und immer einen Besuch wert! Egal welches Wetter, man hat immer einen gemütlichen Platz mit tollen Gerichten und lecker Getränken. Und der Ausblick ist auch aus dem Fenster die Fahrt auf den Warsberg wert!
