Auberge Sankt Laurentius, Hotel Restaurant in Saarburg

Such a unique place. A restaurant like in the old days. Lots of old folders were lying around. Not a single light was on in the restaurant. It was dark and cold inside. There was no light in the ladies' restroom either. We women had to use the men's restroom. But the owners were worth a visit. The owner told us that he had been working there for 64 years and his wife for 62. They wanted to be role models for our youth. So it didn't bother us at all that everything moved at a correspondingly slower pace.

10/19/25 We received a very warm welcome, even though it wasn't really dinner time yet (5 p.m.). "We could have a glass of wine in peace and read the menu..." However, the offers on the tab outside the door had already encouraged us to take a seat, so we quickly put together our menu. Everything came fresh and to the table and was so delicious that we didn't want to stop until our plates were empty. The restaurant isn't in the center of town, and with the construction site next door, it's not exactly inviting. And if we hadn't gone along for the walk, we wouldn't have noticed, but that would have been a real shame.

We were on a short break in Saarburg. We ate at this restaurant two evenings. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The owners, an older couple, are very friendly. The owner still cooks here herself, and everything is fresh. Highly recommended.

A wonderful restaurant run by a lovely couple with more than 120 years of combined experience in the restaurant business. Truly impressive for just two people! Don’t expect anything over the top, but rather honest, delicious food at very fair prices. We had the schnitzel and the trout, both absolutely fantastic! Perfectly cooked, served with a rich sauce, crispy fries and a fresh, crunchy salad. Visiting Saarburg? Make sure to support these locals. Dining here feels like being welcomed by your own grandparents who cook with genuine love. Highly recommended. We loved it!

I was in Saarburg today and had a meal at the Panorama chairlift mountain station. I'm impressed by the beautiful town of Saarburg and will stop at the Auberge on my next visit; it's tucked away from the tourist center. But I was impressed by the daily specials.

A quaint restaurant. We enjoyed wine like in the old days. The food was very good. When the owner brought us the food in her apron, we knew we were in the right place. We'd be happy to go back and highly recommend it.

This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Saarburg. The hotel & restaurant is run by an elderly couple who are the most friendly people around. The food was fabulous. If you want to experience the real German hospitality this is the place to be!

We took a day trip to Saarburg yesterday. While walking through the town, we passed by the restaurant and read the menu. We ordered sausage salad with fried potatoes and schnitzel with mushrooms in a cream sauce with croquettes and a side salad. Everything was delicious, and the elderly couple who ran the restaurant were very friendly. Great prices.

The food and drinks are very good value for money. The food is excellent, and the owners, an older couple, are extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very tasty food at an unbeatable price. The schnitzel was superbly souffléd and served with homemade fries. The pork chop was succulent and cooked on the bone, and the fried potatoes were very good. The owner of the restaurant was very nice and polite. Definitely worth a visit!

We felt very welcome and at ease here. The children and we had a delicious meal. You don't come here for the fancy appearance or a twist on a classic. No, what remains normal for a long time automatically becomes special. For example, you drink a delicious Riesling from a retro wine glass here - my wife would have liked to bring it. You eat from cozy tableware, which reminded me of eating at my grandparents' - and then especially in a positive way. The furniture of the restaurant is old-fashioned, but still neat. It fits in perfectly with the old couple who take care of the guests in this restaurant with attention. As guests, we took for granted that the couple seems to make it easy for themselves by having a somewhat messy table with folders and other office supplies in the restaurant. You don't expect that in a restaurant, but you have to let go of all expectations of today when you visit here. This restaurant does not participate in the madness and speed of tomorrow. Step into a world where time seems to have stood still for a moment, where you feel like a guest instead of a tourist.

While walking through Saarburg, stopped here for dinner. In terms of interior, the characteristic look of the 1970s. The owners are an old couple, well past the normal retirement age, but still pursuing their passion and life's work. We ate traditional Hausmannskost here. Delicious Sauerbraten from the horse with Bratkartoffeln and a nice simple salad. This at a very low price. We had a great time and we will definitely come back here again. You're in the wrong place for high society menus, but that's not what we were looking for!

I tried the restaurant with two friends. We were looking for a place with a more traditional menu, and we found this small restaurant in an inn run by a nice elder couple. They speak german and french, and a little bit of english. It's a great option while visiting Saarburg, it's located by walking distance to the center and it's a less touristy site. The prices are very acceptable, and you can get a schnitzel with salad and chips + beverage for approximately 15€. The food was really good and tasted comforting and homemade, with a great quality/price ratio. It doesn't have the option to pay by credit/debit card, so it's better to bring some money to avoid a trip to an ATM after the meal. Would recommend!

Good morning Had dinner there yesterday. The owners are nice, but I can also make microwave food at home. I don't go to the restaurant for that, there are two options. Either you hire someone or you close the shop.

Inconspicuous from the outside, you come into the inn, rustic and cozy. You are greeted very friendly and openly by a friendly older couple. You have to wait a few minutes for the food, but everything is freshly prepared. Salad very crunchy, fries made from potatoes, when it comes to the table it is hot, preparation and taste, mega and rare. There is still rustic German cuisine here. Portions and price unbeatable. Very, very happy again, especially highly recommended. It was a treat for the palate, thank you for that ☺️

Anyone who comes here is still served with joy and enthusiasm, despite the age of the operators. There were two of us in the restaurant, which is located quite close to the waterfall. Very friendly welcome from the somewhat older innkeepers. There was delicious food at an absolutely fair price. But smooth ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️...only the restaurant with its older charm and furnishings leads to the overall rating.

The horse roulade was super juicy and very tasty. You can taste that cooking is still done with love here. The sausage salad is served with tomato pieces, which was a welcome change for us. The two owners are very friendly. Restaurant is highly recommended.

Went here for dinner last Wednesday, it is run by a slightly older couple who you can only respect. Food was freshly prepared and at very reasonable prices. In short, if you want to eat and drink cheaply 50 meters from the center, this is the place for you, but you have to take your time.

This hotel is pretty nondescript. When you come into the inn, it is simply but comfortably furnished. You are served by a very friendly older couple. You have to wait a while for the food to be freshly prepared. You don't just get a warm meal, but a hot, fresh one. Good home-style dishes are served and at a reasonable price. And the taste is amazing! We haven't eaten so well in a long time. 60 years, you experience things, history is written. Thanks

A small, rustic restaurant run by an old couple :) The decor is getting old, but the food is really delicious! My partner and I had a schnitzel with croquettes and salad. Both are freshly and lovingly prepared in the kitchen, so it may take a little longer. “No drawer food” to use the owner’s words. We will be back and can recommend everyone to give the restaurant a chance :-)

Rustic restaurant with home-style cuisine, more than fair prices and a friendly host. We were very satisfied.

On October 2nd this year we cycled along the Saar. The plan was to stop in Saarburg early in the evening, everyone was spread out on the bank, you have to book soon at the waterfall, so we have to search a little longer. Passing the church with its bells, we see signs what a joy: Auberge Sankt Laurentius welcomes us, we immediately took a seat. With wit and charm, a fine gentleman asks us about our desires. The food table sounds tempting, the wine comes quickly and tastes very tasty and again the landlord comes along: "The sauerbraten was pickled himself, the goulash melts delicately on the palate!" And you can only hear murmurings of pleasure from the neighboring tables. We eat excellent food, something that is rare and indulge in the world of cooking. A big compliment to the lovely hosts!!! The old, elegant style is still alive in the Auberge Sankt Laurentius - just as the king guest wants it to be. Something very special because not everyday!!! Regina

Terug in de tijd in dit restaurant. Gerund door een oud echtpaar, zij in de keuken, hij in het restaurant. Schnitzel met champignonsaus en Flammkuchen gehad. De laatste kwam uit de vriezer, niet vers. Hele aardige mensen en hele schappelijke prijzen.

Lecker Essen, man muss aber Zeit mitbringen, da die Besitzer etwas älter sind.

Het was hier heel lekker, en goedkoop. Ik was na 1 gang echt al helemaal vol, ik had geen toetje nodig. Het wordt gerund door een oud echtpaar. Ze waren super aardig.

Poco lontano dal centro e dai ristoranti più turistici c'è questo grazioso ristorante gestito da una coppia di anziani gentilissimi. Cibo ottimo, piatto con insalate miste molto buono , piatto di gulasch di cavallo con patate e altro con carne di maiale al pepe con patate. Ottimo. Consigliato

Am Sonntag Mittag ein Lokal gefunden das in ruhiger Lage oberhalb der Kirche zu finden ist. Gute bürgerliche Küche zu genau solchen Preisen. Preis Leistung sehr in Ordnung. Zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Mobiliar. Retro könnte man es auch nennen. Wir waren zufrieden und werden beim nächsten Besuch in Saarburg sicher wieder dort essen. Auch das Betreiber Ehepaar war sehr nett und hat uns den Aufenthalt angenehm gemacht. Vielen Dank
