Saarburger Hof in Saarburg

For me, an honest review: 3 points. You can't get more than that. It's okay and not bad either. But the rooms are so thinly soundproof, and every street noise is audible. The doorknob isn't even secured, as anyone who leaves the room notices. The furnishings and condition of the room are a bit dated. And breakfast is okay, but it doesn't deserve much praise. And a little more ground coffee would improve the coffee's taste. There's no free parking; you either have to use the parking lot next door. That costs a few euros during the day and is free at night, or walk.

To round off our company outing in beautiful Saarburg, we went to dinner at the Saarburger Hof. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed excellent, friendly, and attentive service throughout the entire evening. The food was delicious, and everyone was delighted. We would like to thank the entire team for a wonderful evening. We highly recommend the Saarburger Hof.

It's actually an older, but very clean and beautiful hotel with beautiful antique furniture, which is also on display in the restaurant and throughout the hotel. The service staff are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and delicious. I particularly appreciated the service of freshly prepared egg dishes upon request. The dinner was also very delicious. The hotel's location is very central, and you can easily walk into town. My stay was very nice, and on my next visit (this time with my husband), I would be happy to stay at the Saarburger Hof again. Thanks again for the wonderful time.

We stayed at the Hotel Saarburger Hof for two nights as a group of nine. The rooms are very small, the bathroom is dated and extremely cramped, and the amenities are mediocre at best (no air conditioning, a loud fan instead, no minibar in the room, 30ml shower gel, no other toiletries, and no parking (!)). The window in our room could only be tilted, not opened. It was noisy at night. Conclusion: For the price of €168/night, I expect more comfort and cleanliness! The breakfast was delicious and worth the €15. I wouldn't stay at the Saarburger Hof again.

A small hotel in a central location, unfortunately a bit noisy at night, but it was still manageable. The attached restaurant was expensive and always busy; we didn't eat there. The beer was tasty. The breakfast buffet was decent, but the cheese selection was limited. There was cereal and egg dishes cooked to order. The rooms were small, the bathroom unrenovated and unfortunately no longer appealing. Conclusion: The hotel is okay overall, but the value for money isn't right. For €168 a night (double room with breakfast), I expect more.

We stayed at Hotel Saarburg Hof for a few days and are now traveling on to Austria! What a lovely family-run hotel, run by the couple. Everything gets a 10 out of 10 from us. ➖Super neat and clean rooms, which are cleaned every day. ➖Super extensive breakfast, and if you like, they'll fry an egg any way you like. ➖They are incredibly helpful; they even helped us get our suitcases out of the car and brought us upstairs (where else do you see that?). ➖ Another plus: being right in the city center! If we go there again, we will definitely stay there.

Attentive, friendly service, a lovingly designed hotel and restaurant, and the famously good Diewald cuisine... Enough reasons to keep coming back!

Finally, a cuisine that stands out from the usual Italian restaurants by the waterfall – everything here is fresh, lovingly prepared and comes from the region.

Cozy and nice family hotel. Very friendly host, hostess and staff. Excellent extensive breakfast. Dinner was excellently prepared, compliments for the chef. Sights within walking distance. Went to Trier by car, also a nice city with many sights.

Short trip with my daughter... a thoroughly successful Mother's Day weekend! Comfortable rooms, everything beautifully renovated. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with everything replenished quickly. Dinner on the terrace in the sunny weather was perfect! Be sure to reserve a table! Thank you very much!

Our room was right on the main street. Nothing for those seeking peace and quiet. We found it to be significantly too expensive at €179. In our opinion there was still room for improvement at breakfast too

Gladly again at any time. The food was great and the service was also very good. We really liked the atmosphere.

Zu viert haben wir hier ein verlängertes Wochenende verbracht und wurden bei unserer Ankunft herzlich begrüßt. Uns wurden 3 Doppelzimmer gezeigt und wir durften daraus 2 auswählen. Die Zimmer sind ansprechend eingerichtet, die Betten sehr bequem. Sowohl im Kleiderschrank als auch im Bad mit einem Regal und verschiedenen Haken ist viel Stauraum. Ein großes Lob an den Zimmerservice. Es war alles perfekt sauber und ordentlich! Das Frühstücksbuffet bot eine gute und ansprechende Auswahl. Nicht zu vergessen der nette Frühstücksservice! Super ist das Angebot der Halbpension, für das man sich als Hausgast von Abend zu Abend spontan entscheiden kann und das nicht für alle Mitreisende bindend ist. Das Menü für Hausgäste war vorzüglich! Die Speisenauswahl, der freundliche Service, die Zubereitung der Speisen, das Anrichten - es war wirklich genial! Und dazu ist man auf Änderungswünsche ganz unkompliziert eingegangen. Ein sehr sehr gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis!!!! Ein großes Lob an Familie Diewald!

Wonderful old hotel, no bureaucracy when booking a room (no need to fill anything out, just get an invoice for the overnight stay).

we came for dinner and by arrival we were told the kitchen was closed, even though we called and made a reservation. We still could sit which was nice of the staff but we felt rushed. We noticed it in the food as well, plates that were served quickly and attention to detail wasn’t spared. All in all it felt a bit unwelcome, however: the location is absolutely gorgeous and felt really romantic.

We had a delicious meal here and enjoyed the nice service. I can only recommend.

We were guests at the Saarburger Hof for a week and really enjoyed our time. The Diewald couple are very attentive and courteous hosts. Here you can enjoy all the advantages of a small, owner-managed hotel. An absolutely recommended accommodation for exploring the Saar region. We look forward to our next stay!

In het centrum van Saarburg (rondom de waterval/markt) eenzijdige keuze. Wij zijn uitgeweken naar Saarburger Hof, ook vanwege de drukte en iets anders willen eten, daar hadden ze een zeer aantrekkelijke menukaart, wat verschillend was van de restaurants rondom de waterval/markt.

War dort mit Freunden. Ein super leckeres Essen vom Feinsten….und das Desert 🥰!!! Sehr freundliches und Aufmerksame Bedienung und super nette Inhaber! Ein echtes kulinarisches Erlebnis im Zentrum von Saarburg ❤️

Avons logé à l'hôtel le 12/05/23. Vieille bâtisse mais très bien entretenue, propre avec tout confort. Le tout est géré par une même famille depuis plusieurs générations, le personnel est sympathique et très attentionné. Situé en Rhénanie-Palatinat dans la bourgade de Saarburg le long de la Saar. Typique des régions viticoles avec au centre le vieux Saarburg surplombé d'un château, cascade, promenade aux alentours, randonnées au sein des vignes. Trier est à peine 20 km mais il existe bien d'autres attractions situées non loin de l'hôtel. Le restaurant attenant est très agréable, la cuisine est raffinée, on peut choisir entre des menus 3 services ou à la carte, la qualité des produits est excellent et le tout est accompagné d'excellents vins de la région.

Notre déception fut grande lorsque nous avons déjeuné dans ce restaurant, qui a beau servir ses plats sous cloche...car cela reste une cuisine plus que basique, sans aucune recherche ni inventivité...pourtant l´addition quant à elle fut plus que salée. Une expérience à ne pas renouveler !

Vi åt en sagolik Carpaccio och en lika god Beuf Bourgogne, det smalt i munnen, gott vin till detta. Bra service och trevlig personal. Hit kommer vi gärna igen.

Heerlijk 3 gangen diner gegeten, met zalm en forel, erg lekker klaargemaakt. Een rosé van de Saar erbij gedronken, prima Het buitenterras was erg mooi ingericht. De sfeer was gemoedelijk. De bediening was erg attent en service gericht.

Wir haben 2 Nächte im Hotel verbracht und haben draussen auf der Terrasse (schönes Ambiente) zu Abend gegessen. Das Restaurant bietet neben der normalen Karte mit ihren Menüs (es gibt immer 2: ein saisonales und 3 Gänge zum Selbstauswählen) und Einzelgerichten noch eine separate Halbpension für Hotelgäste zu einem etwas günstigeren Preis an. Wir haben beide 3 Gänge zu uns genommen und waren mit jedem der Gerichte hochzufrieden. Der Service (offenbar Chefin und Chef selbst auch dabei) begleitet das Ganze sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Respectvolle bediening, kwalitatief prima eten, fijn buitenterras. Aanrader om zeker terug te komen tijdens je vakantie.

Uitstekend gegeten een regionaal menu met asperges. Dit was zeker de moeite waard. Samen met de appetizers, voorgerecht van gerookte zalm spinazie en een aardbeien dessert

Die Chefin empfängt ihre Gäste persönlich, man speist in einem sehr schönen und edlen Ambiente. Zur Zeit sind spanische Wochen, die Karte bietet ein sehr schönes Spektrum an spanischen Gerichten und Tapas. Den dazu passenden Wein kann jeder Gast aus einer schönen Auswahl zunächst probieren und aussuchen. Wer Saarburg besucht hat, muss wenigstens einmal hier gegessen haben. Auch wenn das Preisniveau etwas gehoben, ist es jeden Euro wert.

Hervorragendes Essen, toller Service und sehr schönes Restaurant. Sehr zu empfehlen, die italienischen Wochen. Ein dickes Lob an die Küche. Wir kommen bald wieder. Grüße aus Saarburg

Wir haben an zwei Abenden hier gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden. An einem Abendhaben wir das 3-Gangmenü des Restaurants genossen. Es wird für Hausgäste zum Preis von 34 Euro angeboten. Am zweiten Abend hat das Restaurant für unsere Gruppe ein 5-Gangmenü mit begleitenden Weinen zusammengestellt. Die Weine hatte der Inhaber des Restaurant ausgesucht und mit fachkundigen Erläuterungen begleitet. Das Servicepersonal war stets freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis der Speisen ist angemessen. Die Preise in der Weinkarte sind nach meinem Empfinden etwas zu üppig kalkuliert.

Wir haben 3 Nächte im Saarburger Hof verbracht und sind immer noch hellauf begeistert vom Ambiente des Hauses und der Zimmer, vom sehr guten Service und von der herausragenden Küche. Es gab für uns nichts zu bemängeln und können dieses Haus sehr guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen.

This restaurant (+ hotel) has been existing for many many years, but we gave it a try only recently. We were not disappointed : food was really good, staff was absolutely caring and friendly. Of course, it's not the cheapest dinner option in town, but you can enjoy there a really tasty meal in a cosy ambiance, so why not ? There is a quite big terrace outside, convenient for summer days, if you are not disturbed by the round-about car traffic/noise and exhaust gas. One small minus point in my opinion: not a real choice of dishes for vegetarians.
