Service: Unfortunately the service was poor, in a team of 5-10 people only one lady could speak German, wine was not chilled, despite reservations and a rather empty restaurant the waiting time was well over 1 hour. - Eat: Basically the food was okay. However, it didn't meet expectations and the price/performance wasn't right either. Here you can get top-class restaurants not far away for the same money. Quality is rather average. Ambience: The view is wonderful. Sitting on the balcony is a pleasure. Interior Interior is a mix of styles. There is a lack of a clear, consistent concept on the map, in the thematization and reinterpretation. A pity. The location deserves better.

Unfortunately, with Eric, the passion, the service level and the standard of gastronomy have also gone. The prices seem completely exorbitant considering the fact that the food on offer and its quality has become extremely average. Very sobering after so many very satisfied evenings in the restaurant.

Was there for breakfast as an external guest. The quality is so-so (typical hotel). But at 9:30 when we arrived, a lot of things were already empty and were no longer being refilled. I think that's definitely too expensive for a price of €35. The fair price is more like 12-15€. Most of the staff spoke only rudimentary German, which caused some service problems. Nevertheless, they tried to address our concerns. In any case, a person would have been needed to coordinate the service and keep an overview. In the end we could have left without paying because no one had an overview.

A breakfast for €35 and then this average selection is a disgrace

Unfortunately not as good as with Eric. The breakfast buffet has become smaller and the price has increased. Certain breakfast foods are no longer available or have been replaced with inferior ones. It's a shame, unfortunately, the passion that came from Eric is now missing and the staff was also very poorly staffed. Long waiting times until you are served.

Fuimos un lunes a cenar y esperábamos que fuera una noche tranquila. EQUIVOCADO. El lugar estaba animado y nos sentimos afortunados de conseguir una mesa. Comí un muy buen trozo de salmón con algunas verduras y fideos de inspiración asiática. Mi marido también compartió una deliciosa ensalada de cuñas. Estábamos conduciendo; alojarse en un hotel cerca de la autopista. El trato real; Este lugar estaba a sólo unos minutos del hotel y muy recomendado. . . . en medio de cadenas de restaurantes mediocres.

The employees are very well trained, are very friendly and the food is always great, no matter whether we were there for business, lunch or dinner, everything was always classy. We also often celebrated parties and often stayed overnight in the hotel. We actually travel a lot. Normally the Hotel Panorama is number 1 in Freiburg. I. Preisanhebung für reine Frühstücksgäste um 50% auf 39€ pro Person! Wucher! Begründung der Geschäftsführerin: Es wird nur Bio-Ware angeboten!!! Das ist leider nicht richtig: Fast ausschließlich TK Ware oder aus dem Tetrapack. Heißgetränkeangebot zu Beginn: 1 Kännchen Filtercafe! Weitere Kaffee oder Schokospezialitäten werden nicht angeboten. Schade das inzwischen das Wort Bio so missbraucht wird!

Unfortunately the service was very unfriendly. My partner got a beer at the bar in the afternoon, everything was fine then and half an hour later we wanted to drink coffee on the terrace - when we asked if they could please make us two coffees, which we brought out ourselves, they had one An employee who couldn't speak German very well asked another colleague and then we were told "You'd better go downstairs to the restaurant or get something up from there" um... Lage wunderschoen ruhig Essen bei Chez Eric koestlich Staff sehr freundlich. Zimmer ziemlich klein mit 18m3 Bad renovierungsbeduerftig, Toilette Spuelung muesste erneuert werden, ebenso Badewanne Um Wasser einzulassen nur ueber die Brause moeglich da Stoepsel defekt. Terrasse muesste samt Markise erneuert werden.

We were here for breakfast at 9 a.m. as external guests. It's a shame that the buffet is dismantled at 11 a.m., so you pay €40 per person for just two hours of breakfast if you don't stay at the hotel. Of course the outlook is great, but the price-performance ratio is no longer right here. Buffet was okay, but not what you would expect for the hefty price. There was only a very small selection of cheese and some of it was heartlessly decorated. But the service was definitely great! Very attentive and super friendly.

Fischfang des Tages loup de mer 49 Euro am 30.12. excellent, gustoso. Dessert 5 sorbets, teuer, sehr mini, aber gut. Bankett zum 31. Dezember. 5 Dinge gut, 2 sehr schlecht Sülz mit undefinierbarem Weisskäse darunter, erreicht in keiner Weise bayrische Sulz original auf dem Land= Lückenfüller. Filet als Hauptgang, wirklich ungut, mein Bouillon-Fleisch im Schnellkochtopf schmeckt wesentlich besser. Kartoffel-Krokette industrieller Produktion = horribel. Pièce de résistance, was nötig war, weil die 5 anderen Dinge eher klein = nicht akzeptabel. Man hatte allerdings das Bankett mit 200 Leuten vollgestopft, das bei einem Preis von 269 inkl. Getränke, also nicht billig. 1.1. Hummer leider war die Portion für ein Person wesentlich kleiner als die etwa gleichteure servierung für 2 Personen, die wir am 30. an einem Nachbartisch gesehen haben. Cocktailsauce bestand zum grössten Teil aus Ketchup. Der hUmmer wurde prachterregend auf Eis serviert, aber es gab keinen Teller zum Auseinandernehmen (nur einig Gramm) und keine Schale mit Zitrone zum Fingerreinigen. Steinbutt schmeckte müde im Vergleich zum Loup de Mer. Preise sind z.T. höher als in Basel. Desserts bis 18 Euro und miniklein. Personal hingegen freundlich und aufmerksam und effizient. FRühstück hingegen sehr gut, Beste Rühreier, die ich je in einem Hotel gegesen habe. Da man ja eher im Hotel ist, weil das Panorama abseits liegt, haben wir uns es nicht angetan, eine dritte Nacht für 150 Euro und bösem Essen für nochmal 150 Euro auszugegen, sondern speisen dafür fürstlich in einem Restaurant des Greyerzer Landes.

Unfortunately, the "Chez Eric" in the Panorama Hotel in Freiburg is no longer with Eric, as he recently left due to his age. I can't say whether this has or will have an impact on the kitchen; The last time we were there for dinner, Eric was still there. Today we wanted to have breakfast there; With visitors from further afield it's always a nice thing because of the - logically - great view, and the breakfast buffet has always been a safe bet so far. This is where a necessary differentiation begins: where a few years ago breakfast was still 25 euros per person. cost and was really very good for the price, until recently it was 30 euros; But then it was OK to good. Today I was actually allowed to pay 39 euros per nose, and the buffet is average at best, I'm sorry. For that amount I expect fresh juices, not from a bag, a better selection of cheeses and cold cuts and definitely more fresh fruit. The scrambled eggs were very good, but the sausages were very greasy on the plate - you could, for example, place a few slices of white bread underneath to ensure that this isn't the case. Logically, when I eat sausages, I also absorb fat (it would be terrible if I didn't), but there doesn't have to be an extra layer of fat around it. The same goes for the fried potatoes; Admittedly, this is not a "thankful" buffet meal, but if I offer it, I should make sure that it doesn't degenerate into greasy and soggy half-warm potato slices. To be clear, it's not that the buffet or the quality is terrible, not at all. The price-performance ratio is simply no longer right, but unfortunately that is clear. Added to this is the ambience; The dusty "Tuscany" touch with ocher and earth tones in the wipe technique, the floral draped curtains and the furniture are clearly from around - well - 25 to 30 years ago: modernization would be strongly recommended. Conclusion: It is understandable that you have to take a "view" surcharge into account, but here - as far as breakfast is concerned - we are beyond good and bad, and this unfortunately also has a negative impact on the ancient ambience; If you were at least sitting in a more "modern" environment, that would at least be a plus. I think this is the last time I went here for breakfast.

After a very difficult experience a few weeks ago (only one in 30 years), the new management seems to have found its senses and a menu worthy of the name, varied... From the appetizer, to the sweetbreads & veal head with cabbage and sauerkraut sauce, everything is excellent with always perfect room service. The 2 horrible screens which divided the room have been removed. Well done 😉

A piece of sweetbread the size of a 5 euro piece, some chopped leek and a spoonful of sauerkraut sauce for 34 euros!!! At first I thought it was a hidden camera prank, but it was a sad reality. I was badly ripped off. Never again!

The view from the restaurant is fantastic, unfortunately the food is only so, so. The service was very good. To be fair we only had lunch and maybe the dining experience is very different, but the salad I had was not really fresh and a disappointment. Fresh home baked cakes looked very appealing!

The Kaffe und Kuchen is perfect at Che Eric, located in Panorama Hotel. Exquisite homemade cakes, very friendly staff and incredible views of the city of Freiburg.

Gute Küche aber leider inzwischen vollkommen überteuert und in keiner Relation. Sehr schade da wir das Hotel jahrelang kennen und sehr schätzen.

If the service hadn't been so great, I would have only given it 1*. The food in no way met expectations. The description of the dishes read great - the implementation was really bad. Starter: Peach with wild cauliflower. The peach was hard and therefore tasteless - you had to look for the cauliflower with a magnifying glass. Were orange wedges dominating? Wild garlic gnogi with chanterelles. The sauce was sour, no taste and 2 small pieces of mushrooms. The gnogi were green, but the wild garlic flavor was not present. Fish dish was OK in terms of the fish (but not anymore). The side dish was watery spinach and the cream polenta was so boring and that at a price of €42. And the whole thing carelessly slammed into the plate! Because of our dissatisfaction, they were very accommodating to us - but I would have preferred to eat well.

Nous avons décidé de ne pas choisir de plats type « fruit de mer, crustacés » ce qui est pourtant évoqué comme la spécialité du lieu. La commande était donc de deux steaks façon château briand. La qualité du service était exemplaire et toujours avec le sourire malgré les difficultés de la langue. L’assiette est accompagnée de légumes cuits vapeur et les produits sont de bonne qualité. Les amuses bouches sont plaisants. Le cadre est magnifique avec une vue surplombant tout Freibourg et un couché de soleil pour notre part. L’ambiance est très douce et chaleureuse. Étant seul à boire du vin, j’ai pris un 3/4 de vin Allemand qui était pour le moins insipide. En somme un moment délectable et des saveurs au rdv. Attention tout de même au porte monnaie. Pour 2 plats et 2 boissons la note s’élève à 130€.

Restaurant with very good cuisine and a great view over Freiburg. Particularly worth mentioning is the friendly, very attentive staff. Gladly again🙂

Wonderful views of Freiburg, very dated decor, and overpriced food. Service was very cold and aloof. There weren't many patrons in the restaurant but our table was the only one that - a) They "forgot" to light the candle b) The only table that the "chef" forgot to stop by and chat. He stopped at every table (we were the only ethnicity different from others) c) They "forgot" to check on our wines or water and never asked if we needed another bottle of wine or water for a 3.5 hour dinner This was the only restaurant in all of Freiburg where we received poor service while we saw every other table getting a different treatment. Draw your own conclusions. Go literally anywhere else.

Die Bedienung war reizend! Die Gerichte sind überteuert, nicht das Geld wert. Man musste die spärliche Vorspeise von tiefe Schalen essen. Es hörte sich ganz toll an, war aber durchschnittlich bis unterdurchschnittlich. Die Gnocchi mit Pilze waren gut, aber auch nichts besonders, wenn man €31/- dafür bezahlen müsste. Das Dessert war der Tiefpunkt. Ich habe mindestens 15 Minuten warten müssen, bis das vorgefahrene Miniportion von Avocadoeis, der scheußlich geschmeckt hat, zu löffeln war. Dazu gab es einigermaßen akzeptierbare gebratene Aprikosen. Ich habe gehört, wie die Dame am Nachbartisch die Mengel aufgelistet hat. Wirklich nicht das Geld wert!

Für einen „kleinen Hunger“ wollten wir nicht das Hotel verlassen und entschieden uns, im hauseigenen Restaurant zu essen. Schon auf dem Weg zum Tisch wurden wir gefragt, ob wir etwas trinken möchten. Die Aussicht auf der Terrasse macht vieles wieder gut, leider aber nicht das staubtrockene Clubsandwich für 22€(!) Die Hummersauce am Kalbsschnitzel mit Bärlauch-Pasta schmeckte verdächtig nach Fertigprodukt. Zuvor gab es noch eine Schale grünen Blattsalat mit Croûtons, die dermaßen in Butter ertränkt waren. Statt knusprig, weich und matschig. Der Service war fast durchgehend sehr gut, nur wahrscheinlich unterbesetzt, denn wir warteten sehr lange um zahlen zu können. Wofür das Hotel Restaurant nichts kann: Als besonders unangenehm sind uns einige andere Gäste aufgefallen, die sich arrogant und schnippisch verhalten hatten und auch dem Servicepersonal so gegenübertraten. Vielleicht gehört dieses Klienten ja zur „gehobenen französischen Küche“ dazu, ich habe jedenfalls bereut, nicht auf dem Zimmer gegessen zu haben.

Am Tag vor unsere Ankunft war ein großes Gewitter in der südliche Raum Deutschland. Aus diesen Grund waren verschiedene Äste, Schmutz und Spuren des Gewitter zu sehen. Leider 3 Tage danach sah es genau so aus. Unsere Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht, ja zum Glück ca. um 3 Uhr morgens wurde es kühler genug. Der ganzen Tag im Zimmer heiß und der Früh Abend auch. Am nächste Tag habe ich mich bei der Rezeption erkundigt, ob es nur eine Lüftung oder Klima sei. Die sehr freundliche Mitarbeiterin hat mir gesagt das wegen den Gewitter eine Störung gebe aber die Technik daran arbeitet . Leider wurde das Versprechen nicht erfüllt. Finde es sehr Kunde unfreundlich, dass es nicht ein Zimmer im ein andere Bereiche angeboten wurde. Es wurde kein Wasser oder endliches angeboten und die Unannehmlichkeiten runterzuspülen. Auch runterspülen muss man die Preise im Restaurant, zwar schmeckt lecker aber unpassende in einem Mittelklassehotel. Hauptgang Gnocchi mit Bärlauch 31 Euros Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und für den knappen vorhandenen Platz sehr gut eingerichtet. Ich fand das Personal aam Empfang sowie der der Herr an der Bar mit Bart isehr nett. Ein drittes X Panorama Freiburg wird es nicht geben

There are a lot of good restaurants in the Freiburg area anyway, so the competition is even tougher. At Chez Eric the food is great, unusual and always with a certain twist. You have the choice between ever-changing menus, which have never disappointed us, and a “standard” brasserie menu. The service is very friendly, competent and courteous and really leaves nothing to be desired. My highlight: the dark bread with walnuts, which starts with a selection of fine spreads and divine olive oil.

Absolutely terrific, sensational food, really a culinary delight, excellent, super friendly service and a beautiful view over Freiburg. This was 100% perfect. We would be happy to come back. We recommend!

Wir hatten wieder ein ausgezeichnetes Abendessen auf der Terrasse bei Chez Eric. Immer wieder ein Erlebnis! Erstklassiger Service von geschultem Personal, heutzutage fast eine Seltenheit. Die Speisen ein Genuss, das Rinderfilet auf den Punkt. Eine Empfehlung in Freiburg, besonders schön in den wärmeren Monaten auf der Terrasse.

Termin war im März 202. Wir haben selten so schlecht gegessen, die Preise war für die Qualität völlig überteuert. Ja man kann von Wucher sprechen bei dieser Preis-Qualitätsrelation.Auf Kritik wurde nicht reagiert, nur nach dem ersten Gang wurde gefragt ob es uns schmeckt. Bsp. Feldsalat mit einer weissen, dicken Fertigsosse, der Speck bestand aus leicht angewärmten, Fertisoßen mit Glutamat etc.

Die Speisekarte ist nicht saisonal ausgerichtet. Unser Essen war nicht gut, das Gemüse war fast roh, das Chateubriand viel zu...

The finest food, top service and a very appealing ambience. I felt completely comfortable.

For a hotel restaurant it is good but unfortunately overpriced (schnitzel for Euro 40.00 is “over the top” even if it comes with a lobster sauce... but sorry that doesn't fit. Veal schnitzel with lobster sauce is too extravagant and you have to keep in mind that the schnitzel comes in a butterfly cut, i.e. a piece of meat weighing around 120-130 grams cut into two halves... The ambience and furniture are left in the 80's, Service was nice, professional and quick, hence the 4 star rating otherwise it would have been 3 stars

You can't describe it in words, everything is perfect. From the hotel room you have a beautiful view of Freiburg and if you are very lucky you can see as far as the mountains of France. The staff is super friendly. And the food is super tasty and plentiful.

Once again we had a wonderful meal here. Particularly noteworthy here is the excellent service and the variations of fish and shellfish. Of course everything is freshly prepared. Great staff, incredible food, exquisite wines and complete understanding of all possible (and impossible 😉) intolerances! The food is incredibly tasty and the kitchen is really understanding and flexible when it comes to intolerances! The chef and the kitchen completely adapt the menu if there is an intolerance - completely spontaneously! I have to follow a strict gluten-free diet and it was possible for me to order the regular menu - this was specially adapted for me and prepared completely gluten-free (unfortunately, in addition to being gluten-free, I also cannot tolerate onions and apples). I didn't register in advance that I needed gluten-free food - so everything was done spontaneously and directly on site. That didn't cause any longer waiting times or anything like that. The chef also came to me especially and told me what he would change and adapt so that I could eat it too! :) This shows that the food is always fresh and prepared entirely from scratch. Just a restaurant at a very high level! Also highly recommended - the non-alcoholic cocktail "Jamaica" - is super delicious! And when the bill comes I'm always surprised because it's cheaper than what you would expect for such first-class service, such incredible food and a wine list that leaves nothing to be desired. (Of course there is also a bar where you can order other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks) Always my pleasure! P.S. My husband and I celebrated our wedding at the Panorama Hotel 5 years ago. It was an unforgettable celebration, with an incredible menu and a cake from the in-house award-winning patisserie!!

Wonderful, beautiful view over Freiburg, very good food and a good selection of drinks, very friendly staff and. Even the operator is on site every day and works with and takes care of the guests. The rooms are clean and all have a balcony or terrace with a view of the city.

Super delicious food, VERY friendly, flexible and professional service. Thanks to Ana who was responsible for us. Two stars deducted because the owner could renovate again. The ambience leaves something to be desired. It can't be too expensive at around €300 for two people. (eat a bottle of water and two martinis without wine.) The portions of the 6-course menu could be smaller because you can hardly manage the 3/4 course and we are “heavy eaters”. I think we would come back again sometime. I can still recommend it.

Location is great, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio in the restaurant is, in my opinion, not so good.

Great panorama, staff tried very hard, food was delicious, value for money was still ok, we sat on the terrace/balcony, this is highly recommended

Wonderful ambience inside and out with first-class food. You can even have parties here.

The service is very neat and super fast, we were really impressed.
