Lunch menu (main course with salad or soup) for €10.90. For me, this is simply the Indian restaurant in Munich.

We went there based on an online recommendation – well, let's just say it wasn't great. The ambiance was okay, nothing special. The restrooms were in a dilapidated state and dirty, and there wasn't even any paper towels for drying our hands during our visit. The beer was good, but the fruit spritzer tasted bland and was served without ice. The appetizers were good. Unfortunately, one of our appetizers was forgotten, and they claimed we hadn't ordered it. Ordering it again wasn't worth it due to the long wait. While every table receives free pappad (lentil wafers), you can also order them for €3.50. Unaware of this, we ordered them and didn't notice any difference compared to tables that had received them for free. The waiter suggested there were probably more of them. However, compared to other tables, we thought everything looked identical. Ordering them was pointless. The quality of the main courses was inconsistent. The amount of meat in the tandoori dishes was very generous. However, there was absolutely no spiciness, even though the menu described it as medium-spicy. Even the samosas (appetizer) were MUCH spicier. That's unacceptable at an Indian restaurant. Plus, there was way too little sauce. The mango curry tasted good and also had plenty of meat, but it contained some gristly/fatty pieces of chicken. Prices were okay. It wasn't a complete disaster, but I wouldn't go back.

All the dishes were absolutely delicious. The price-performance ratio is perfectly reasonable, especially considering the relaxed atmosphere right in the heart of the Glockenbachviertel district. No trendy pretensions, just honest, good Indian food among friendly neighbors.

There was a very good selection of vegetarian dishes. The food was delicious all around. The staff was attentive and polite. We even received complimentary mango juice and papadums. We were able to reserve a table at short notice. Thank you for the lovely evening.

We were regular customers for 16 years, but never got the table we wanted when we made a reservation. The owner was very friendly when there, but the waiters were sometimes unfriendly and arrogant. It was the best Indian food in town after trying other restaurants, but the portions were smaller and the prices were overpriced. We will gladly avoid visiting in the future (see above). We don't want to share a door or restroom with other customers and then have to argue with incredibly unfriendly staff.

The Palace of Winds is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever visited. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by warm colors, authentic aromas, and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and they're happy to explain the dishes – perfect if you're having trouble deciding. The food is divine: fresh, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. The Butter Chicken and Lamb Curry are particular highlights – tender meat in creamy, perfectly balanced sauces. The vegetarian dishes are also fantastic – the Paneer Tikka and the various dals are flavorful but not overly spicy. The freshly baked naan bread is fluffy and pairs perfectly with the sauces. The portions are generous, the prices are very fair, and everything is beautifully presented. The selection of drinks – from mango lassi to Indian beer – perfectly complements the experience. A thoroughly enjoyable evening filled with authentic flavors and genuine hospitality. I will definitely come back – the Palace of Winds is a culinary highlight for anyone who loves Indian food (or wants to discover it)!

Ambience & Atmosphere: Pleasantly quiet, yet lively enough to have a good conversation without the neighboring tables hearing everything. The decor is warmly lit and has a truly Indian feel – lots of colorful lights, playful details, overall very cozy. Soft music plays in the background, which fits well. The only thing that was a bit annoying was a frequent, loud ringing (sounded Indian somehow?) – no idea where it was coming from, maybe it was a decorative figure or something. Service: The staff was attentive and quick, but not particularly friendly – ​​more matter-of-fact, but professional. Food & Drinks: The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned! Both the vegetarian and meat dishes were really good. The salads are also recommended – though they could have done with a bit more modern presentation (it seemed a bit old-fashioned). The lassis were a real highlight! Conclusion: Good Indian restaurant with delicious food and a nice atmosphere. I'll be back!

The quality of the food has declined dramatically. The onion rings were straight from the hairdryer and very greasy. The beer was lukewarm. The tandoori chicken was completely oversalted and very dry. They've apparently started using flavor enhancers recently; I still feel nauseous. The service was slow and boring.

We stopped by this restaurant on a rainy day on the recommendation of a colleague. Full of anticipation and excitement, we each ordered two dishes and the naan bread, which we never miss. When our food arrived, we knew it could only be good! The chicken vindaloo was a true feast for my palate, as was the chicken tikka, quite simple but perfect in its simplicity. Not dry, but very juicy. My companion's chicken bhuna was also excellent, but we have to note with the lamb tikka masala that we've had more tender lamb (so you shouldn't expect a "pulled pork" flavor here). As for the side dishes, the rice is great, plain rice but very well made. The garlic naan bread is a feast, and the standard version is also great, but everything quickly becomes "hard." A cloth or something similar to retain heat and moisture would be a dream. All in all, a truly wonderful visit with wonderful food! We enjoyed it very much and will definitely come back :)

Got a takeout. I was skeptical as most German Indian restaurants are designed for the German pallet which is Neanderthal at best. I ordered a lab vindaloo which is the benchmark for any Indian. It was one of the best I have ever had, including the ones I have made myself. Well worth it.

There are also some vegan options, and we were completely happy. It tasted absolutely delicious, and the prices are very reasonable, too.

There were six of us there. We had to wait about 80 minutes for our food, even though only a few tables were occupied. The long wait was neither understandable nor pleasant for us. Unfortunately, we get the impression that we were deliberately kept longer to make the restaurant seem more crowded. The food was mediocre.

I believe I am a well-travelled connoisseur of the various Indian cuisines; and I can only praise this restaurant for the quality of the food. Authentic flavours throughout - from the chicken tikka as a starter, which was juicy and with the perfect mix of spices. Definitely the best I had in an Indian restaurant outside India ! Our main courses were chicken biryani and chicken tikka massala. Again, we were amazed by the rich flavours that very few restaurants have to offer outside of India. These are typically the 2 dishes that enable you to rate an Indian restaurant, and they passed the test with flying colours. All in all, exquiste Punjabi-style dishes offering the real taste of Northern Indian cuisine. I can only recommend this property, and especially its kitchen brigade to Indian food lovers.

Really nice indian place with outside seating. The service is amazing. We have visited this place a few times in the evening for Chai and snacks. I can recommend the Chai and samosas here. The only wish here is that they have more vegetarian options especially in the starter category. Will come back here again mainly for how they treat us with a smile and hello each time.

Centrally located, always full and yet you can still find a place without a reservation, especially in the early evening. The food is varied, vegan, vegetarian, meat with different degrees of spiciness on request - everything is wonderful. We have been coming here for many years and have never been disappointed. Price performance is almost unique for Munich, but above all, super tasty and very friendly service!

The best Indian in Munich, our absolute favorite restaurant and in the city center! The food is excellent and the lunch menu (salad or soup + main course) costs less than €10. For groups of 2 or more there is also naan bread. It is highly recommended to go early at lunchtime, because shortly after 12 p.m. the restaurant is booming and is, so to speak, packed. It only becomes easier to get a place after 1 pm. The service is very quick and friendly.

Good food, but this one waiter who limps along doesn't say hello and goodbye. This is very inappropriate in a restaurant, even at the kiosk you are greeted. The fact that his facial expression looks rather grim is probably part of the reason.

Almost all Indian restaurants in Munich offer a very similar menu with dishes that are considered typically Indian in Germany. The diversity of a country like India, which is almost the size of Europe, is often ignored. Unfortunately, this restaurant is no different. The quality of the food was average. In particular, I find the standard dishes such as chicken masala or chicken korma to be rather average compared to other Indian restaurants in Munich and not sufficiently aromatic/spiced for my taste. Although the location is excellent and the prices are reasonable for this location, overall the service is not enough for me to eat here again.

The prices are absolutely fair for Munich standards. I visited this restaurant for the first time on my sister's recommendation and it did not disappoint. Worst butter chicken I've ever had, I call it bodily harm, I don't remember eating there that much, but the butter chicken today was just broth with tomato sauce. Half a plate of it makes my stomach hurt. Definitely not recommended. Absolute disgrace

I went tonight after a long time, and it seemed that the restaurant had a change in management, the food quality had decreased really low and the service was also not nice at all! The same sauce was in 2 different foods which shouldn't!

Best Indian restaurant in Munich, in my opinion! I've been there on and off for years and my favorite thing to eat is Garlic Chicken. I've only seen it at Palace of the Winds and it tastes wonderful!

I would order a beer, but the waiter refused to bring me a beer even though I was already 17. And when I asked him, he told me that I had to be 18 to drink a beer alone. And the overall service was bad, everything took so long and they almost couldn't speak German

I am now in Kuwait and I still remember the wonderful taste of the restaurant and the style. I ate about a month ago at the best Indian restaurant.

The dishes themselves were average, not really bad, but not good either. The fact that a “spicy” dish doesn’t taste like much can be changed with chili. But I certainly won't chop onions, especially not in a masala. That and the ambience are three stars. But the Pappad were underground (bag?). One point deducted. And the service can't get it out again. Conclusion: Below average, not a recommendation.

Wonderful atmosphere, service, and most of all food! Was traveling from the US and was very happy to come here for my first meal. The flavors were delicious and balanced, excellent spice level, and fresh ingredients. Not greasy or oily. Good quantity and quality of food. Would definitely recommend and come again! I had the saag paneer and garlic naan.

Let me start by saying that this is definitely one of the better Indian restaurants I have ever been to. Generous portions, tasty and delicious Naan bread. However, the service left much to be desired. Disinterested, couldn't smile, not proactive and had to ask for the bill 5-6 times. In short, if you only come for the food, this is a great place, but the rest still needs some work.

Try the Aloo Gobi. It is out of this world! Very tasty und full of flavour.
