Dessi Tadka - Indian Street Food in München

I have been in Germany for 5 days and I know this is not German food but it is the best food I have had since I have been here.

Food and service is good. Go to place for Indian food.

Excellent service and food. The Desi food was memorable . The owner and staff were courteous and welcoming! Would definitely recommend this place to someone willing to taste a wide variety of dishes.

We had two different lamb dishes. The meat was very tender and delicious. Overall, the menu was quite spicy; a little less spicy would have been nice. The rice was light and cooked through. The garlic naan is highly recommended. The drink prices are very fair. The service was very friendly and quick. The seats in the front are quite noisy due to the delivery traffic, but you can still have a relaxed conversation.

Overall, good place, good service, food not so great However, we ordered Kadai Paneer and the paneer (Cottage cheese) was really shady (weird colour & texture in different pieces) and no one could really explain why. One explanation provided by the staff was that Paparika seeped into the paneer while cooking. This dismissive attitude can cause health issues, as it was probably stale/expired paneer(Cottage cheese) Suggestion: Please use fresh ingredients

We ordered Paneer Maskawala from this place, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The taste was not good as per indian style and didn’t feel fresh.The quantity was quite low for the price we paid.The naan was not properly cooked, it was doughy and undercooked in parts. The rice felt old and dry, as if it had been sitting out for a long time.I had high expectations after seeing many positive videos online about the quality and quantity of food from this place — but sadly, the actual experience was very disappointing.

Saw IND vs PAK 2025 match, i guess only place in munich who has a screening. Food on top, services where great. Must visit place if somebody is craving for authentic indian taste.

I was there about two weeks ago and was served two different delicious starters. One was with chickpeas and the other with Indian cheese. Both were exceptionally good. I then had lamb as my main course. The portion was generous, and the lamb, above all, was tender as butter, with plenty of pieces. I'll definitely be back :-) Thank you so much for the wonderful service.

4th time I go there. All perfect: - food is super good and served sometimes in typical dish (spicy but not too much) - service perfect, polite and attentive Biryani just excellent

I really enjoyed the food, especially the butter chicken. It was my first experience in India, and the staff are very reliable.

Food was good and I would rate it 4/5. However, the service from the waitress was extremely disappointing—she was rude, seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and when asked polite questions, she responded by raising her voice in an arrogant manner. The manager did step in and apologised promptly, but instead of asking the waitress to apologise directly, he offered a free lassi as compensation. That felt dismissive, as what truly mattered was acknowledgment and accountability, not a token gesture.

I went to Dessi Tadka and I'm absolutely thrilled! 🤩 The food was super fresh, full of flavor, and truly authentic—just as Indian food should be. The curries and naan were a particular highlight, perfectly seasoned and truly delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed, modern, and cozy at the same time—you immediately feel at home. The team there is incredibly friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome. 🙌 The value for money is absolutely spot on; the portions are generous and worth every penny. Indian street food (chat) that’s both authentic and flavourful. Their pani pouri and samosa chat are great, and they serve up decent dosai as well though I find Saravanaa Bhavan’s better (then again this is really a southern Indian dish). The mains are more a mixed bag. The classic butter chicken is decent but their briyani and tandoori cashew chicken is pretty average

I ate at Dessi Tadka the last two evenings. Super delicious, authentic Indian food. Very attentive and friendly service and a cozy atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. If you love Indian cuisine as much as I do, you should definitely stop by Dessi Tadka in Munich! And if you don't love it yet, you will afterward ;) Thanks to the lovely team! 🙏🏼

The waiting staff is friendly and the restaurant owner, Mr. Madhu Sudan is an extremely warm person. We ordered takeout. The butter chicken and lamb masala were probably the best we've ever eaten. The naans are relatively thin and small, but the overall taste is unbeatable. Wow!

I ordered from Tessi Tadka via Lieferando and, sadly, I have to say that it is by far the worst butter chicken I have ever experienced. Normally, butter chicken isn't spicy, but this one was quite spicy, which was quite unusual. The sauce was almost like water—very thin and tasteless. I also found a piece of meat in the sauce that was hard to identify—it definitely wasn't chicken, which made the whole thing even more disappointing. Overall, the dish was a complete disaster and bears no resemblance to the Indian food I know and love. I eat Indian food very often, but this experience was truly disappointing. I can only recommend being cautious with this restaurant and perhaps ordering from somewhere else.

The food is in general bland. The chaat was fine but the main course was not at all worth it (specially for the price they are asking). Even the drinks were pretty average.

The food was quite delicious! -> very Indian-style spiced, similar to what I experienced in India…. 🤔🙂 -> The samosa in sauce was no longer in one piece because it had overcooked in the sauce…. still delicious… 🧐😉 -> The rice with lamb was without any sauce… and somehow warmed up and untypically seasoned, almost "Italian"….. 🤔 -> And what did "surprise" me was the bill: ….. when paying in cash, I received a credit card statement from a different card, and: with the payment time about 1.5 hours before (!) my payment….??!!! ….. 😱😳👏🏼 -> The service was quite distracted by their own business, a bit "familiar"…. -> Conclusion: For insensitive guests who are only familiar with the usual Indian cuisine for tourists, this is a "TASTE RECOMMENDATION"...!!! -> In my experience, there is no Indian "haute cuisine" here!!! But still good average (!) and worth the experience (!) for the average European palate, and therefore definitely RECOMMENDED!!! The ambiance and prices are interesting for Munich residents...! ✨👍🏻

Great service and food was delicious. We tried dosa the simple one with sauces and one with spices. Place is on a busy road with no parking but then there is bus and U-Bahn nearby. Will defiantly visit go there again.

Everything about this restaurant was incredible, the food, the service, the atmosphere, it smells incredible too and immediately made me hungry. We had chicken vindaloo (will order again - amazing) and a big mixed vegetable bowl, as well as two portions of garlic naan. The food also arrived almost immediately, which is great since we were really hungry. The prices are reasonable as well! I will definitely be coming back here and recommend everyone tries it :)

Very tasty food. The air conditioning was initially unpleasantly loud, but after a warning, it was turned off.

We had absolutely delicious curries, some of the best we’ve ever had. The chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and tiger chicken were all 10/10. Incredible flavour. Garlic, butter and cheese naans were all great too! Only thing that can improve would be air conditioning (it’s summer) but Highly recommend.

The restaurant looks very unassuming... but as soon as you enter, you're literally transported to another place. They play Indian (or Indonesian...) pop music, sometimes you can watch football or something else, a Buddha watches us from the corner, and the food, yes, the food, isn't the usual stuff you'd find anywhere else in Germany. No, it tastes absolutely amazing, and it probably wouldn't be any better even in India. Be careful: if it says spicy, it's spicy 😁

Man what a fun restaurant tucked away in Munich. Honestly I can't remember having better Indian food anywhere else USA or otherwise. The naan was delicious as was my main course. My only regret was I came here on my last night in munich. Had I know the food was this good I would have come here much much earlier. Lastly they has some absolutely banging music videos playing on the TV. Couldn't understand a darn thing they were saying but the beats were solid. Go to this restaurant, you won't regret it.

Great food, great prices, and overall a nice restaurant. They have a specific menu available during lunch FYI. Vegan options available. What I ordered was a bit too spicy for me, but fair enough. If you don't deal well with spicy, just let them know of course!

Food is the winner here! They serve amongst the best north indian food one can get in Munich. The owners are really friendly as well and served us complimentary tea as it was cold outside. We ordered Samosa Chaat, Kadhai Paneer, Bhindi Masala and some Naan. Everything was balanced, authentic and it wasn’t europeanised. The highlight was Samosa Chaat and Bhindi Masala. Will definitely visit again :) Update: Have been a regular customer of this restaurant since it opened around 3 years ago. However, my last visit was underwhelming. They’ve reduced the quantities and increased the prices. Unfortunately following the same trend that many Munich’s Indian restaurants do when they get famous and established.

We ordered 1 main course, 1 starter and 1 street food for €35. Already very expensive. However, written 3 times: please NOT spicy! Because of health reasons. And yet all the dishes were spicy. If this is not possible (because sauces have already been pre-cooked, etc.), the staff should be honest and not sell it to the guests. Couldn't eat the food. That doesn't work at all! Big disappointment especially for these high prices.
