Great restaurant for a quick lunch. They have a lunch menu, and the food was served pretty quick. The food tasted pretty good.

A wonderful spot for Indian cuisine in Munich! It was our first time visiting, and I was thrilled to enjoy Bhindi Masala—a dish that's not easy to find elsewhere. The staff is friendly and creates a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

We eat here at least once every 2 weeks. The food is great the staff is very friendly. The quality has been approved by an indian friend of ours. Always a pleasure.

One of the best Indian Restaurants I've visited in Europe. Food has very authentic taste. Every dish I tried was true to its taste. Owner of the restaurant Patra Ji is very passionate and it shows.

Indian food here is always tasty, but the portion sizes disappoint me when ordering delivery. I encourage the business to increase them, as we are paying reasonable prices for good food.

Terrible, we didn't even get a chance to try the food. It smelled good, the restaurant looked nice too but we were treated very badly - the waiter or manager whatever, had no interest in winning new customers and treated us like we were worthless. We actually wanted to reserve a table and only had the simple and polite question of when it would be a little quieter because there was a special meal. He was passive aggressive, didn't ask when and also served a young man or took his order. We signaled that we would wait, but no, he typed in an item of the order, heard our question, then asked the young man again and then literally processed us. The shop was otherwise empty. If they're already overwhelmed with just two people, I don't even want to know what's going on when it's full.

Disclaimer: This review is primarily for Indian customers who are particular about authentic flavors, like me. As an Indian expat living in Germany, the occasional craving for genuine Indian food can be overwhelming. Fortunately, some restaurants here have pleasantly surprised me. Unfortunately, your restaurant was not one of them. I recently invited a friend for an Indian dinner and decided to give Desi Tadka a try. I ordered the following items, hoping for a taste of home, but I was thoroughly disappointed: 1.Garlic Naan – Dry and lifeless, with chunks of garlic awkwardly scattered on top. 2.Vada Pav – I didn’t have high expectations for this dish, but you could have at least made an effort. There was no salt, and the pav (bread) wasn’t even close to real Indian pav (and please, don't excuse this by saying you can’t find proper pav here). 3.Pav Bhaji – The bhaji had no flavor, missing the authentic richness of pav bhaji entirely. 4.Samosa – If anyone wants to taste pure oil, they should order the samosas. There was no flavor whatsoever. 5.Charsi Tiger Chicken – By this point, I couldn’t bring myself to even try it after being let down by everything else. Lastly, the only thing that had any taste was the piece of cut lemon you served for which you got 1 star. If you're trying to represent Indian cuisine, please take it seriously. The lack of effort and authenticity here is disheartening, and I’m honestly puzzled as to how you've managed a 4.7-star rating.

I had the Masala Dosa and different starters, and all of them were delicious! Really enjoyed it.

Delicious aromatic food. Perfectly seasoned. Tiger chicken is a poetry of taste and its melting consistency 🤤. My beloved Mango lassi is also top notch. I like the street food section because I haven't seen it anywhere else (a starter made of balls that look like bread and the filling is a bomb of flavor). Affordable prices, very nice service. I'm glad I found this restaurant because I finally have a good Indian restaurant close to home. I can't wait to try more dishes

Dear Mr. Madhusudan Patra, 1.20 hour waiting time for 2 starters Pani Puri. Poor, unprofessional and biased service in this restaurant that makes customers feel like they are in an Indian restaurant for the first time. Please train your employees to be polite, respectful and accept their mistakes without blaming customers. Plus very rude employees is not something I imagined in your restaurant. Teach them to train them and be polite to everyone for the high prices we pay for such bad experiences at your restaurant.

I don't really understand how the reviews can be so good. Ordered 2 different dishes and received a spicy broth twice, without any distinction. I've had much better Indian. I can't recommend it. We tried it because of the good reviews, but unfortunately it was a flop.

Worst indian food I've ever had...

I recently ordered from Dessi Tadka and was utterly disappointed by the food portion size. I ordered the Hakka noodles for €7, expecting a decent serving, but what I received was barely enough for one person. The portion was miniscule. It’s frustrating especially when you're paying a reasonable price. I urge the restaurant to be fair to customers. It's essential to provide value alongside quality. I hope they take this feedback seriously and avoid cheating your customers in the future.

Garlic naan, samosa chat, pan bhaji, mango chicken, tandoori chicken. All of it was amazing! Highly recommend coming here!

Unfortunately that was nothing. The food wasn't tasty and the butter chicken was way too watery/runny. The meat content was also very low. Overall there was a lack of salt everywhere. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a snack bar with a few velvet chairs. You definitely shouldn't come here for a date or a business lunch. There is one more star for the very nice employees.

I went to Dessi Tadka with my friends for an evening food. We ordered masala dosa and vada pav. They were really good. I liked the dosa really well. Compared to the famous South Indian restaurants I felt these to be pretty good. Vada pav was also good. Regarding the seating, I found more options. You can sit outside the restaurant, and within the restaurant there are options to choose between a more silent and furnished interior as well as the normal seating. The ambiance is so nice. Overall if you are looking for some dosa options I would recommend Dessi Tadka for you.

Large selection, super tasty, great service, vegan and vegetarian options and more than enough to choose from, including things that you don't always get at Indian restaurants, 100% recommendation!

I recently dined at this restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. The waiters treated us with an alarming level of disrespect, as if we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Their attitude was dismissive, giving off the impression that we were in their restaurant and they could treat us however they pleased. Not only was the service unprofessional and rude, but the overall cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. The kitchen area appeared dirty, raising serious concerns about hygiene and food safety standards. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Not going there again!

I have visited this restaurant several times and am impressed every time! I would particularly like to highlight Ali, who served me extremely politely and courteously on every visit. Customer satisfaction is really important here and you can tell that straight away. The food was simply delicious and I was overjoyed to finally enjoy Egg Chop again after many years - it tasted just as good as in Bengal! When I inquired, Ali explained that one of the chefs is from Odisha, which explains the authentic taste. This restaurant not only offers great dishes but also outstanding service. I can only warmly recommend it and look forward to my next visit!

Food was good better than others. Visited during IPL season, they were not projecting it but was quite loud. Pav bhaji - okay Samosa chat - good Garlic chicken - felt quantity is less Goan curry - good At the time of my visit, one of their branches is closed, which is not updated in google maps nor in their website.

The food was averagely well seasoned, but unfortunately everything was spicy with chili, so you could hardly taste the spices anymore. Lunch on the first day was good for the price of just under €9. Contents: peppers, tomatoes, cheese with spices in a sauce and rice. I can't recommend the Superbowl Vegetable at all, in the photo of the menu it looks amazing and then you get: a blob of potatoes in a hot, moderately spiced sauce where, according to the menu card, there should actually be vegetables, a few lettuce leaves with two pieces of tomato, a ladleful of lentils floating in a sauce and a large pile of rice. Extremely disappointing for a price of just under 11 euros. You just get so full.

We had such a nice time here!! We went twice during our stay because we loved it so much. The food is amazing such a good selection and the staff are also so lovely. Would definitely recommend and come again if we are back!! Thankyou :)

I come from Mainz and every time I come to Munich this is the very first spot we visit! The food is so incredibly delicious and the staff are more than just friendly. I can only recommend it to everyone!

Ordered 2 different dishes and tasted exactly the same. I'm relatively sure it was the same thing and that the kitchen simply served the same dish out of time pressure. Over half an hour waiting time. Soup (laughable mini portion) ordered for 6€, doesn't taste good at all. Maggi soup tastes even better. The garlic bread also has no taste and you only get 2 small, wafer-thin slices. The chicken meat is extremely dry. I don't understand at all how this store can have such a good rating. By far the worst Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. Plus the prices are completely overpriced.

Amazing Indian restaurant! One of best i ever had in years in Germany. I had heard a lot about them and finally a chance to visit today with friends and fellow social workers promoting humanity and Indian culture there. Amazing food (never had such a dosa or buttered potato filled crispy tandoori nan) and many street foods. Great value for money I was lucky to meet most humble and friendly owner Mr Patra who shared his passion to serve best possible Indian food and his manager Mr Khan and Jassi who served with a smile. If you are in Munich, wish for nice Indian food, must place for visit !

Food was very delicious, naan bread or raita wasn't included in the dish (that's what i'm used to in Finland). Place was very busy even at 10pm. Staff was friendly. Would most deffinetly recommend to everyone who likes well seasoned and spicy food. Sadly i'm only visiting for 1 day.

Toooo much expensive and roti nan is just like a paper which is 3€ separatly...Because you get 1 Roti in a menu so you have to order minimum 4 of them. What the hell? Water in the glass(No jug or bottle) ???? If you are hungry and wanna eat properly.. I will strongly not recommend this place. They are just looting... Taste is good but prices touching sky... Very very disappointed...

Not the best Indian food out there. The Tandoori chicken wasn't very "grilled", more like slimy, and it came with raw salad leaves instead of grilled vegetables. Really weird combination. The portions were incredibly small yet the price for every dish was high. Overall the food tasted like fast diner food, less like restaurant food. But the price was more like for a restaurant. Wouldn't recommend.

Anyone who has ever eaten at Swagat knows what it should actually taste like. Ordered two different dishes and one was just spicier than the other. Incredibly loud, even though you've been asked several times not to use the mixer or to sort out empty bottles after 10 p.m. An unreasonable boss and staff, no understanding that others have to get up very early and work... Maybe I have to file a report because nothing seems to be changing

I recently dined at this Indian restaurant in Munich and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The butter chicken was amazing and stood out from others I’ve tried because it wasn’t overly buttery, allowing the rich spices and tender chicken to shine through. Equally delightful was the samosa chaat, which was the best I’ve ever had in Germany. The balance of flavors and textures was simply perfect. The staff were really friendly. I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Munich !

Unfortunately, we were only there twice on vacation because our vacation in Munich was already over. We would have loved to go there more often. Very good service. Very respectful, nice, polite and courteous. We didn't know what to eat so we just let ourselves be surprised and it was the best decision. Very delicious food and wonderfully delicious drinks. Pretty good food with sizable portions - for the price they ask it's really good. Nice interior, comfy. I do have 2 complaints, both minor (still 5/5 place). One - please, oh, please change those plates to something less annoying (every scrape is audible across the restaurant); two - full time Air Con is a must for that front of house.

Damn good food and super nice staff. The naan, chicken tika massalla are definitely 10/10. An absolute tip even for narrow 💸. Absolutely top. The mango drinks are brutally good. It couldn't be fresher.

the sauce was very watered down, the naan was terribly oily and thin and didn't taste of garlic at all, two different dishes butter chicken and chicken tikka masala tasted practically the same, they were strongly spiced but in my opinion these spices didn't go together at all and didn't taste good . The butter chicken was not buttery/creamy at all, and as I mentioned, downright watery. I don't recommend it, I haven't eaten such bad Indian food for a long time

Edit: I was there again the waiter claimed the dishes are all halal. Such a nice restaurant and according to my Indian friend, the food is quite close to how it would be in India. The food was great, for starters we had samosa chat and chicken fultos. Main was chicken biriyani, tandoori chicken and bhindi ghost (lamb, this one is quite good). Then for dessert we had gulab jamun and Saffron Rasmalai. We are satisfied with everything that we ordered. On top of that the service is excellent, the waiters are so helpful and kind. The chairs are quite comfortable, we sat in the back and the lighting there is much better (more calm) and we were entertained by the indian music (mostly hindi) playing in the background. I recommend this place if you want to try (close to) authentic indian dishes and it also fits for big group lunch/dinner.

This is the worst so-called Indian restaurant in entire Europe. These guys advertise themselves as Indians but they were the most racist folks one would ever meet. On top of passing racial slurs, these guys served us chicken instead of panner (cheese) and were quite unapologetic in owing this up. They were like, it happens - what's the issue. I would definitely raise an official complaint against them but I would advise everyone to stay away from this place. These guys definitely need to be taught a lesson on how to run a restaurant.

Food was delicious. We tried several things, including the chef's special of Tiger chicken, garlic chicken, and lamb curry. We also had the Naan. And we finished with dessert. My son and hubby had mojitos...very authentic. So hard to come by those. Food was just the right amount of spice. My lamb was so tender, it melted in my mouth. Waiter(s) were attentive and helpful. We don't speak a lot of German and it was great to find multilingual hosts. The chef stopped by the table and was super engaging. Great experience. Great visit for a group of traveling Americans.

Its a good place to enjoy good Indian/Pakistani food. Staff is over friendly but not disrespectful. So they are good The food is tasty Atmosphere is like any other restaurant and normal. They have some outdoor seeds too. Its not expensive, but not the cheapest one around. Price wise its normal

Loved the Amritsari kulcha here and the service. Finally found an Indian that serves authentic Indian flavours in Munich. It was worth travelling all the way for the service and the food. This one goes into my favourites. Do try their panipuri if you are there, reminds me of home.

Honestly speaking, the first indian restaurant which has a wide variety like restsurants back in india. We loved chicken hakka noodles ( desi chinese flavor)، aaloo parantha,panipuri & chai. We asked for less spice n it was perfect for kiddos. We went at arnd 6 p.m . service was quite fast. Staff was pleasant too. Space is a little less though for prams but manageable.

What was striking were the many Indians who ate there or came to take away. Then it must be good. That was indeed the case. Deliciously spiced vegan lentil soup and spicy vegetable biryani. Very tasty. The same goes for my husband's chicken dishes. No wonder this little restaurant was so packed. Very friendly, correct service too.

Solid curries and a few dishes that you don't normally see on the menu in Munich. I would like it not always to be rice, but instead you could also opt for naan. Thumbs up for the drink selection.
