The Ox & Klee is without question an exciting concept with high standards. Unfortunately, our reservation was canceled at short notice the evening before - particularly unfortunate since it was our anniversary. What should be highlighted positively, however, is how professionally and accommodating the team handled it: we were booked in again promptly, received a menu upgrade and a bottle of champagne as compensation - a very generous and appreciative way of dealing with the situation. The menu itself was of a high level of craftsmanship, but unfortunately the taste didn't quite match our personal style. Nevertheless, you can see the attention to detail and the creative idea behind every course. Overall, a mixed impression - with great service and a lot of commitment, even if the culinary wasn't quite right this time.

We went to the Kitchen Party and spent €350 per person. an exclusive event presented. Unfortunately, it was anything but that. The appetizers from the flying buffet were very good and the service was also courteous and good. The second part was more comparable to a life cooking station at a hotel buffet. There were far too many people present, so we had to wait in line for a long time to get the food. We didn't even get a gear. Even upon request, it was no longer available. In addition, in our opinion and also due to the number of portions used, the food was not a two-star experience and was mostly rather flat in terms of taste. Drinks had to be brought yourself. We probably should have spent the money on a normal dinner, but the Kitchen Party wasn't at all to our liking.

We went to the Kitchen Party yesterday and it was perfect! The weather cooperated, the music and the DJ were very good. The service was very courteous, especially the bartenders who did their job with great passion. The food was on point, absolutely worthy of a kitchen party. All in all, a very successful evening in a wonderful atmosphere.

Food is art and that's how you should approach it: Don't expect classic food, but rather a journey through different tastes. Dom Perignon is recommended as an alternative to wine accompaniment. But just water works too.

We had a 12-course menu with drinks at Ox und Klee and were thrilled. It's hard to understand why you wouldn't be full here, because we ate for four and a half hours and were really full. The food and drinks were wonderfully coordinated and we truly had an experience taste. I gave this evening to my partner for his 60th birthday and it truly lived up to expectations. Many thanks to the team for the wonderful evening 🙏🏼 and the lovely birthday card. The only point deducted is because it was extremely loud at times. Even the carpet and curtains couldn't absorb it.

La experiencia fue excelente. La comida era extraordinaria y deliciosa. La combinación de sabores en un mismo plato fue increíble. El menú degustación de 12 platos era perfecto y en comparación con otros restaurantes similares, incluso las cantidades del menú degustación eran más que suficientes. Los 9 vinos que acompañaban la carta eran realmente buenos (quizá 8 de 9 vinos, si quiero ser honesto). El servicio fue excelente y el personal muy servicial y amable. Lo disfrutamos. Para un restaurante de 2 estrellas Michelin, está un poco más lleno de lo que esperábamos y un sábado por la noche (con un techo no alto) tal vez un poco más ruidoso. Aparte de ese comentario todo lo demás era realmente cualitativo.

We visited Ox & Klee for the first time in December. In our opinion the restaurant was too busy. The seating was very cramped and there were too few staff. The room was extremely loud and the seating was uncomfortable for a long evening. The service was generally very friendly, but not up to the heavy load. Among other things, for example, the food was served first and then the cutlery was brought. For the main course, the food came before the wine, which is a shame when you have wine accompaniment. Unfortunately the pasta course was cold. When asked whether this should be the case, they replied in the negative and there was no further response. The concept is nice, we can't remember anything better.

AMAZING dining. Experience. That's what this is, an experience. I had a 12-course meal, and my dad had a 6-course. All of the food was presented with remarkable detail. The flavor profiles were complex and multi-leveled. The ambience, somehow, added to the taste. My only negative critiques here are that the timing of the drink and dish were off. A few times I had a drink without food and vice versa. Finally, probably the most important one. The staff realized they did not serve dessert and had to package it since we were leaving. It went to waste since I was travelling and didn't have anywhere to store it. Bummer, it looked delicious just like everything else.

Wir gehen gerne gut essen und wissen auch das solche Gastrobesuche nicht günstig sind. Aber: - alles im voraus zu bezahlen ist ein nogo. Selbst in 2* Restaurants in Frankreich nicht üblich. Eine Reservierung mit Kreditkarte zu garantieren wäre in Ordnung. - Restaurant war schon von der Aufmachung her unmöglich. Ungemütlich, keine Tischdecken, Tische nicht sauber ,Bedienung entweder nicht da oder nicht fachkundig/ unprofessionell. Das sogenannte Menu war insgesamt nur ein Imbiss. Ein Taste! Das die Portionen nicht riesig sind darüber sind wir uns im klaren. Aber fast 1000€ für 2 Personen ( mit 1ner Flasche Wein) da erwarten wir angenehm satt nach Hause fahren zu können und nicht auf dem Nachhauseweg noch eine Dönerbude aufsuchen zu müssen um einfach satt zu werden. Während des Essens kein nachschenken vom Wein, keine Erklärung was wir da serviert bekommen haben ( nach 5 „Gängen“ haben wir immer noch gedacht das wäre „ein bzw.mehrere „Grüße aus der Küche“). Kein Gang war mehr als „ein Tastelöffel voll“ Kurz: der Besuch war ein echter Reinfall! Und ganz unmöglich: auf die Mail in der wir auf den unschönen Abend hingewiesen haben wurde uns bis heute nicht geantwortet Fazit: Finger weg! Abzocke auf hohen Preisniveau.

We were invited to a kitchen party! Very big cinema. Absolutely relaxed atmosphere on both floors with cool music and exceptional small dishes. Really cuddly in the kitchen, of course. How good that you were constantly given delicious wines. And of course the boss with his superintendent kitchen brigade: relaxed, talkative, competent and simply gifted with the stove, steam convector and everything else. In my opinion it is rightly a 2 star restaurant and therefore the best in Cologne at the moment. Excellent food with a lot of emphasis on the taste experience. I think the visual presentation of the food is very successful. Both the meat/fish course and the vegetarian alternative look surprisingly similar, even though the ingredients are different.

I was here for our Christmas party a while ago and I'm still raving about this actual "taste experience". The food tasted incredibly good and the vegetarian version was at least as tasty as the meat version. The different courses mean you stay together longer and all in all it was just an experience! The price is of course not insignificant but worth a visit for a special occasion (or if you have the money 😂)!

Since the restaurant didn't respond to my email, I'm writing all of this here. I would like to leave a review about visiting your restaurant. We heard a lot about your restaurant and decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary with you yesterday. The food was excellent, nothing to complain about. But there is a big BUT in the service: The main downside was a hair in the “bread” aisle, which was lying in the grass next to the butter. The waiter tried to talk about the concept but from what I saw I didn't hear anything else. To my comment, he came back a second later, apparently just to remove the hair, saying that this could happen to anyone. Yes, maybe, but not in a restaurant of this class. Next: the waitress served courses with a disheveled hair tie on her arm without even covering it. Then I shouldn't wonder what the hair is doing on the plate. At the end of the dinner we received a bill where the 12-course meal was only charged once instead of twice, whereupon we, as honest people, pointed out the error in the bill and paid everything correctly. In response we heard a dry thank you for your honesty. We weren't even offered a cup of coffee for everything that happened. Unfortunately there was no reply to my message. We are very disappointed and hope that you will take these points into account and urgently change something about your service.

Wardrobe disappears. On October 26th, 2024 my husband and I were at Ox&Klee in Cologne. The service staff was very nice. The food tasted quite good and the wine pairing was really very good. When we wanted to leave the restaurant, the lady at the cloakroom couldn't give us our high-quality umbrella back because she gave it to another guest. She added that she was surprised because the table numbers didn't match, but that didn't stop her from giving our umbrella to another guest. Super annoying, but that can happen... What must not happen, however, is everything that happened afterwards. We got the owner's email address?! who we should please contact about the loss. No sooner said than done. He forwarded my message to the restaurant manager, who was supposed to get in touch with me. However, the restaurant manager in question did not contact me. After more than a week I asked again. The restaurant manager got in touch and I asked her to send us the umbrella because it would take a total of 3 hours for us to pick it up - even though it was the restaurant's fault! I again received no response to my message. So I wrote to the owner again?! No feedback either! Then my husband wrote an email to the owner, who told him that our umbrella had supposedly been sent by post the day before. Since after several days no umbrella had arrived, I asked again by email and asked for the tracking number. .. For me it is absolutely incomprehensible how a 2-star restaurant can be so disorganized. With food, drinks and parking fees you can quickly reach €700, so you shouldn't have to worry about private items disappearing! If guests' property disappears through your fault, then you should take care of ensuring that customers get their property back. Even if it is a high-quality umbrella, for me the ideal value is much higher. I can only advise everyone not to leave anything in the cloakroom there!

Parts of the non-alcoholic accompaniment could also be substituted for me because my taste buds are out of it. Food & presentation were phenomenal. Wir waren am Geburtstag meines Mannes im Ox & Klee essen. Wir wählten das 12-Gang-Menü. Jeder einzelne Gang war fantastisch. Der Geschmack und die Präsentation der Speisen, der Service und das Interior sind perfekt. Alles in allem hat das Restaurant unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Besonders gefallen hat uns der Geschmacksquiz, der bei einigen Speisen "integriert" war. Eine tolle Idee und grafisch top aufbereitet. Nach 12 Gängen waren wir nicht nur sehr satt, sondern auch sehr zufrieden. Der Wein war ebenfalls sehr gut! Das Restaurant hat absolut 2 Sterne verdient und ist sein Geld wert. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Tatsächlich ist es nicht zu einem Besuch des Restaurants gekommen…wir haben Wochen vorher einen Tisch für 6 Personen reserviert. Da bei einer Person eine heftige Allergie gegen Erdnüsse vorliegt, haben wir das bei der Reservierung angegeben und man hat uns versichert, dass das kein Problem ist. Zwei Wochen vor unserem Essen hat das Restaurant nochmals telefonisch nachgefragt, wie ausgeprägt die Allergie ist. Am Ende des Gesprächs wurde uns nochmals versichert, dass einem Besuch nichts entgegensteht. 24 Stunden vor unserem reservierten Termin hat das Restaurant den Termin abgesagt mit der Begründung, dass es ihnen mit der Allergie zu risikoreich ist. Unser Fazit: Eine Absage ist völlig ok, aber nicht 24 Stunden vorher, wo ein Paar bereits aus Berlin angereist war und nicht nach zweimaliger Zusicherung, dass die Allergie kein Problem dar. Von einem Sternerestaurant erwarte ich Flexibilität und dass auf den Gast individuell eingegangen wird.

Hello OX&KLEE team, I visited Prowein this year and I asked some friends for some restaurant recommendations. They told me Ox&Klee was one of the best restaurants they visited in Germany. With high expectations, I invited my family living in Belgium to take part of the experience. We got the chef’s table with the view into the kitchen. So far, so good. Unfortunately, many things went wrong that evening, but since I see my family only once per year, I didn’t want to spoil the evening. At first, I wanted to just let it go and forget about it. Multiple weeks have passed now, and I keep thinking about that night. I’m a chef myself and I feel obliged to share my impressions with the team, since I’d expect the same from my clients. As a chef, I’d like to know what to improve, change or take into consideration. A server poured still water in a glass of sparkling. The guest in question told right away, the server said sorry, but didn’t change the glass. At 20 dollars Canadian for a bottle of water, this should have been corrected. When we got the six different bites, one little doughnut shaped crouton flipped while putting the plate on the table and the garnish fell into the gazpacho. He said oooh, but didn’t correct the error. The chawanmushi course was supposed to be served with finger limes but was replaced with something else. I’ve asked the girl serving us what they used as a replacement, but she kept insisting it was finger lime I had in my plate. I asked her to show me the finger lime, she went to the kitchen and she was told there was none left… I’ve noticed the kitchen staff very often touching their nose, hair etc. without washing their hands. I’m not afraid of bacteria, but the staff should pay more attention while manipulating food and even more so with guests watching. The wine pairing was another issue for me. Only 1 out of 3 was great, 1 out of 3 questionable and 1 out of 3 a clash. A bottle of wine was emptied, but the glass wasn’t full, so the sommelier opened a new bottle and poured it into the same glass. There was a big difference between the old and new bottle. The concept of the evening is brilliant, but towards the end of the evening, the cards were not switched anymore. Explanations became very short. The staff clearly let down their guard. For sure there are other things I didn’t mention, but I think I made my point. We paid for a two-star Michelin restaurant experience but didn’t get it.

An additional course with an additional glass of wine, additional truffles in a dish, an additional cheese plate and of course all at an additional cost. Personally, I don't think this is appropriate for a restaurant of this class where I just want good food without having to think too much about it.

Anlässlich meines Geburtstags waren wir im Restaurant Ox und Klee in Köln. Wir sind durchaus Erfahren bei Besuchen in der Sternegastronomie. Zum ersten Mal waren wir nicht überzeugt! Im Einzelnen: - Komplette Vorauszahlung des Menüs - Keinerlei Wahlmöglichkeit ( es gibt nur ein Menü außer einer noch angebotenen vegetarischen Variante) - Service unaufmerksam (ständig leere Gläser) - Coca Cola light MHD abgelaufen - Recht hoher Preis ( man spricht von einem 12 Gang Menü ?! Es sind in Wirklichkeit weniger Gänge/ man rechnet alles zwischendurch Gereichte als Gang ) - Wenn 12 Gang angepriesen, dann bitte auch 12 Weine in einer dazugebuchten Weinbegleitung. - Einige Gänge werden vom Küchenpersonal(Köche?) gereicht, leider mit sehr schmutziger Garderobe. Ach ja, fast vergessen, auch der Eingang zum Restaurant war nur schwer zu finden und recht dunkel. Leider auch keine Antwort des Restaurants auf unser Feedback des Abends per Mail. Allerdings sollte man erwähnen, dass es geschmacklich meistens sehr gut und kreativ war.

Wir wollten einen besonderen Abend genießen. Positiv erwähnen ( als erstes) das Personal sehr freundlich, die Speisen qualitativ sehr gut, Service insgesamt ok . Die negativen Punkte sind leider gravierend: Die Speisen von der „Masse“ her so wenig das nicht nur stets ein Dessertlöffel gereicht hätte, Man(n) war nach 8 Gängen nicht ansatzweise satt. Bei einem Preis von 750€ möchte ich „angenehm satt“ und zufrieden das Restaurant verlassen. ( zuhause als erstes den Kühlschrank geplündert und 3 Schreiben Brot gegessen) Der Tisch klebte ( = nicht sauber ). Wieso gibt es keine weißen Tischdecken? Ambiente wie in einem „schlechten Landgasthof“. Der Espresso: eine randvolle Tasse mit Kaffee ☕️. Den vorab bestellten und bezahlten „großen Blumenstrauß 60€“ keiner hat uns angeboten den mit zu nehmen! Diesen als Gast aus der Vase zu nehmen ist wohl irgendwie unpassend! Insgesamt ein Abend mit vielen Tastings aber keinem Essen! Wir sind mehrmals im Jahr im „Le Crusere“ in Reims. Ich empfehle da mal „sich etwas ab zu schauen“.

Amazing experience. We had a 6-course dinner, and everything was orchestrated perfectly. The dishes are something out of the ordinary, flavors we have never had in our lives and prepared with mastery. The service is impeccable and what we really like about this restaurant is the more relaxed atmosphere, without anything too fancy or that you don't feel comfortable in, you can really go dressed however you want and feel at home. The wine list is incredible, and they have an orange wine from Georgia that is simply perfect.

Our 6-course menu left a mixed impression, but that was more due to the concept itself than to the quality and creativity of the food. I go to a Michelin restaurant with a certain expectation, which not only relates to the quality of the cuisine, but also to the overall package. There were some weak points here: - My partner doesn't speak German. Even after contacting service several times, communication continued to take place in German. - The service practices a continuous sales event. High-priced upgrades were offered for almost every course. We found this to be extremely intrusive - There are no extras, 6 courses are exactly 6 courses. Even bread is one of these 6 courses here. At least we found that questionable. - The Experience Taste concept is original, but we found it to be taken too far in places. But of course that is a matter of taste - We felt more like we were speed dating. The 6 courses were whipped through for a good 2 hours. This also contributed significantly to the weak overall impression. - Some significant gaps in knowledge in the service (the Merlot from Napa Valley supposedly came from Florida) Conclusion: Excellent cuisine, poor service, slightly overpriced. You get more for less in Cologne, even if it's only 1 Michelin star. Unfortunately, no recommendation.

Sometimes it was even hard to swallow. What you expect from a Michelin restaurant is high quality combined with new tastes and experiences. The zero waste concept that they had was going into the wrong direction. It wasn’t as pleasant as we expected. My comparison is with 1 star Michelin restaurants that I have been and I hardly can believe this restaurant is 2 stars. Last but not least: entertainment was not interesting.

It was just wonderful!! We had the 12 vegetarian courses with the alcoholic wine accompaniment. Our expectations were vastly exceeded. The service was incredibly friendly, personable and very attentive. The ambience was great and the view was beautiful. And the food was beyond words…by far the best food we have ever eaten. There were so many taste explosions in the mouth...unbelievable. We really enjoyed it and were there for almost five hours in total. The concept is simply great. The evening was beautiful! The view of the marina during sunset is the icing on the cake for this culinary masterpiece. We chose the Ox & Klee menu with a total of 12 courses. We had a very nice evening, but with slight drawbacks if you take into account the two-star rating (and the price). Of course the food was great in quality, creativity and variety! (Anyone who gives this effort 3 stars or less is unfair.) The reaction to a mishap that happened to the boss of all people was generous. What was still disturbing? 1. Pricing: When booking, you have to pay the entire amount weeks in advance, and the process is unfortunately reminiscent of ordering flowers from Fleurop because of all the advertised details that are subject to a surcharge (no flowers, no decorations, etc. at no extra charge). In the middle of the menu, a cheese course (34 EUR!) was spontaneously offered. Not only that. The 8 courses are really only 8 - no bread in advance, no special greeting from the kitchen, the final chocolates also count as a course (but they were also great!). In addition, some courses were extremely modest in terms of size and seemed more like a greeting from the kitchen. The wine accompaniment (90 EUR), contrary to what was announced, only consisted of 5 glasses. It's clear that such a lavish meal comes at a price. But here everything seemed a bit “tight” compared to visits to other (1) star restaurants. To put it bluntly: we only felt full thanks to the extra cheese course and the sumptuous chocolates at the end. 2. Ambiance: There is no air conditioning although it is urgently needed in the modern building. In addition, the interior design seems a bit “strange”. Tables and chairs are what you would expect in a hospital cafeteria (but they were comfortable). 3. Service: All the employees were great, young, dynamic, cool and competent. However, at least two of them had a really bad smell of sweat, even when they opened at 6:30 p.m. That must not be! 4. Wine pairing: We had the “normal” wine accompaniment and not the (still significantly) more expensive prestige wine accompaniment. There was an interesting selection of wines from Georgia, Greece, South Africa, California and France. However, it was not explained exactly how many glasses there would be, and above all: why which wine should go with each course (some of them hardly fit for us, and we thought the whole time that we had slipped in the order).

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend, doch mit leichten Abstrichen wenn man die Zwei-Sterne Einordnung (und den Preis) mit einrechnet. Natürlich war das Essen in Qualität, Kreativität und Vielfalt großartig! (Wer bei diesem Aufwand hier 3 Sterne oder weniger vergibt ist unfair.) Großzügig war die Reaktion auf ein Malheur welches ausgerechnet dem Chef passierte. Was hat dennoch etwas gestört? 1. Preisgestaltung: Schon beim Buchen muss man die gesamte Summe Wochen im Voraus bezahlen, und der Prozess erinnert leider an eine Fleurop-Blumenbestellung vor lauter angepriesener, aufpreispflichtiger Details (ohne Aufpreis keine Blumen, keine Deko,...). Mitten im Menü wurde dann noch spontan ein Käsegang (34 EUR!) angeboten. Nicht nur das. Die 8 Gänge sind dann auch wirklich nur 8 - kein Brot vorab, kein extra Gruß aus der Küche, auch die finalen Pralinen zählen als Gang (sie waren aber auch top!). Zudem waren einige Gänge wirklich extrem bescheiden was den Umfang angeht und wirkten eher wie ein Gruß aus der Küche. Auch die Weinbegleitung (90 EUR) bestand anders als angekündigt nur aus 5 Gläsern. Es ist klar, dass ein solch aufwendiges Essen seinen Preis hat. Hier aber wirkte alles etwas "knapp" im Vergleich zu Besuchen in anderen (1-) Sterne-Lokalen. Um es klar zu sagen: Satt geworden sind wir nur durch den extra Käsegang und durch die üppigen Pralinen zum Abschluss. 2. Ambiente: Es gibt keine Klimaanalage obwohl diese in dem modernen Gebäude dringend nötig wäre. Zudem wirkt das Interior Design etwas "merkwürdig". Tische und Stühle würden man so eher in einer Krankenhaus Cafeteria erwarten (waren aber bequem). 3. Service: Alle Mitarbeiter waren toll, jung, dynamisch, cool und kompetent. Allerdings mindestens zwei von ihnen mit wirklich schlimmem Schweißgeruch und das schon zur Öffnung um 18.30 Uhr. Das darf nicht sein! 4. Weinbegleitung: Wir hatten die "normale" Weinbegleitung und nicht die (noch deutlich) teurere Prestige-Weinbegleitung. Es gab eine interessante Auswahl an Weinen aus Georgien, Griechenland, Südafrika, Kalifornien und Frankreich. Allerdings wurde nicht genau erklärt wie viele Gläser es geben wird, und vor allem: Warum welcher Wein nun zum jeweiligen Gang passen sollte (für uns passten einige kaum, und wir haben die ganze Zeit gedacht, wir seien in der Reihenfolge verrutscht).

My first 2-star restaurant had to be something special. I wanted to try something new and the ox and clover seemed to promise that. “Experience Taste” is their motto and each of their dishes contains components that appeal to and make all six tastes noticeable. The ambience was very relaxing and inviting, the view from the crane house is beautiful. The service was attentive and open to conversation. The non-alcoholic drink accompaniment always contained an ingredient from the dishes, which ensured harmony. Each drink was served in different glasses and each flavor was available. I could now give a lecture about the dishes themselves, what was great and how it worked. But I tend to limit myself to highlights. The steamed dumpling consists of crazy ingredients like black pudding, banana and caviar. But it harmonized incredibly well and gave a good mouthfeel. The "buffalo" was a tomato skin filled with burrata foam and underneath was a buffalo tartare, plus a bao bun in the shape of a bone with chopped buffalo meat. The creaminess of the burrata with the tasty tartare and the spicy, crispy bao bun makes you look forward to more. Now it's getting even more creative: the classic "Halve Hahn" as a consommè with radishes, cucumber and a buttery cream and a cockscomb filled with Gouda. And of course the kölsch should not be missing. Serving such a traditional dish in such a form takes courage, but it was worth it. The “raspberry” delivered everything I want from a dessert. There was sharp acidity, subtle sweetness, black sesame as a contrast and the consistency of the ice cream was excellent. After the petit fours I was invited to take a look at the kitchen. It was a nice insight and Daniel Gottschlich is a very likeable chef. The whole experience followed a complete concept and surprised me at one point or another. Every course was delicious and the presentation kept me entertained. I am grateful for this experience, my path will definitely lead me back to Ox & Klee at some point.

Wir wollten eigentlich einen besonderen Abend verbringen und haben ins daher auch für ein besonderes Restaurant entschieden, in dem ich vor 2,5 Jahren schon einmal hervorragend gegessen habe. Leider war die Erwartung an das neue Konzept wohl zu groß, was sich schon allein dadurch, dass das 8-Gang-Menü eigentlich nur aus 5 Gängen plus Appetizer, Gruß zur Unzeit und Pralinchen bestand, doe dazu noch bis auf Fisch und Hauptgang eher Amuse-Dimension hatten. Geschmacklich ist nicht viel hängen geblieben, nur, dass die Dampfnudel aus einer dicken Scheibe Teig bestand, die den dünne, kaum wahrnehmbaren Blutwurstaufstrich, etwas Salat und Kaviar absolut dominierte. Da wir, wie wir es aus bisher jedem besseren Restaurant kennen mit 8 echten Gängen gerechnet haben, haben wir erstmals Erstaunen geäußert, als nach dem nach unserer Zählung dritten Gang ein Gruß serviert und auf Nachfrage dann schon der Hauptgang avisiert wurde. Dies haben wir dann beim Zahlen nochmals ausdrücklich thematisiert und im Nachhinein auch noch einmal per Email hinterfragt, bis heute leider ohne jegliche Reaktion. Es wirkt irgendwie, als sei man durch den selbstbewussten Werbeauftritt über geäußerte Kritik erhaben. Schade.

Eine wilde Reise dich die verschiedenen Geschmäcker, etwas anders interpretiert. Das 8- Gänge Menu führt durch süß, sauer, bitter, salzig, fettig , umami und scharf. Gut interpretiert und schön serviert. Der kölsche Halwe Hahn ist witzig und vom flüssigen Röggelchen könnte man mehr haben wollen Fisch und Fleisxh (Thunfisch und Wachtel) geschmacklich lecker) Übersichtliche Weinkarte, aber für alles etwas dabei. Ob zwei leuchtende Sterne gerechtfertigt sind, liegt an der Zunge des Genießers. Für mich einer zu viel. Freundliches und sehr gutes Personal. Preislich im Rahmen.

The three of us were at the Ox und Klee restaurant on Friday. We chose the 12 course menu. The food was fantastically presented and explained. It was actually a bit too warm in the restaurant. It was probably because the air conditioning in the entire building complex wasn't working properly. Still, it didn't detract from the overall experience. We had a lot of fun and drank one or two more drinks😄 The service was competent and friendly. Particularly noteworthy: The chefs also served the dishes and described them very authentically. Great respect for the service who had to deal with a guest at the end. The gentlemen were upset about why a Kölsch was served with the Halver Hahn 🤣. (Hello?! We are in Cologne) Well, we noticed that and found the staff's behavior to be very professional. We will definitely come back. Many thanks to Isabelle for the nice service!

Too much concept, not enough heart! I would like to say in advance that the individual dishes were good and the quality was impeccable. Nevertheless, we were very disappointed with the evening at Ox&Klee. Maybe the expectations were too high, but since we regularly visit new fine dining concepts and star-rated restaurants at home and abroad, it has to be said clearly that we were simply hoping for more here. It all started with the aperitif, where we ordered the DomPerignon starter for a considerable surcharge. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough left in the bottle for two glasses and so my partner was left with only a half-filled glass. 10 minutes later we were brought another champagne, with the explanation that the DP was unfortunately out, but without any real apology and of course with full calculation. Unfortunately, the service overall was mediocre, not very cordial, not very explanatory and mainly concerned with placing the cards in the aisle with the note that you could read everything. There was no greeting from the kitchen. Unfortunately, I was missing a common thread for the menu. A hodgepodge of stand-alone dishes that were certainly very good on their own, but here the concept clearly dominated and the heart somehow fell by the wayside. In fact, there wasn't a single course that impressed us. When the waitress asked what our favorite course was, there was really nothing left in her head. The biggest disappointment was actually the wine pairing. Now it has to be said that my partner and I are wine lovers and are very interested in the topic. The choice of wine to go with the food remains incomprehensible to me and, apart from the apple ice wine from Denmark, there was nothing that would have made you say “wow, great”. Here, too, the concept was pressed too much and the topic of taste was neglected. All in all, it was a real disappointment for us and we had been looking forward to the evening for a long time.

A 1 star more than a 2… The entrance and setting of the restaurant are very beautiful. The food is good but not up to 2 star standards. The experience and the presentation of the dishes is very fun on the other hand. But the service is not even up to the standard of a star… I can understand that it is uncomfortable to speak in English for a German but hey we still stay in a 2 star a little effort… The dishes to half stated, the last minute setting of the cutlery, the attention to folding the napkin when one is absent is also absent,… We were the last to arrive so the last to leave (arrival at 7:40 p.m. - left at 12 a.m.) the waiter took us serves the last dish and goes to join the team to celebrate in the kitchen leaving us alone... after long minutes of waiting we were finally able to ask for the bill (for the modest sum of €950 for 2 without excess) and once paid, left for the kitchen without accompanying us towards the exit. Oh yes, and when booking, I had specified that it was my partner's birthday but the memo was overlooked I guess. A little mediocre for a 2-star restaurant but the experience is good.

Extremely high-quality star dishes with a guaranteed taste adventure, plus extremely courteous service, although the furnishings are rather reduced. You have to “think about it” such a visit, as the people of Cologne say. 260 euros per person (!) for at least 12 exceptional courses (too much for us, because you really get full, 8 courses would have been enough) is demanding, 140 euros for 6 glasses of wine is even more. (Prices higher from March 2024). At least water could be included, but we think it's immoral to charge 13.50 euros (!!!) for it.

Wir waren von dem Abend insgesamt sehr enttäuscht. Das 8 Gänge Menu war zwar sehr kreativ, aber manche Gänge waren eher "überflüssig". zB eine Brezel oder der "halve Hahn". Wir sind ab und zu in Sterne-Restaurants, dieses ist die 2 Sterne nicht wert. Uns hat keiner der Gänge "vom Hocker gehauen". Das Ambiente ist auch fragwürdig, die Hintergrund"musik", eine dauerhafter dumpfer Ton, ist eine Frechheit. Insgesamt ist es hier das Geld nicht wert.

Conclusion: Wine accompaniment to the 8 course menu was excellent, we were drunk but not full. The food was tasty but not a taste explosion, we have had much better 1 star experiences. Unfortunately, the 2 stars in the price-performance comparison didn't appeal to us and we had hoped for so much more from the "very special event" given as a gift in the spirit of our gift giver.

TL;DR: Essen hervorragend und eine Erfahrung. Wahrscheinlich haben wir einen schlechten Tag erwischt, jedoch ist das Gesamtpaket nicht den Erwartungen gerecht geworden. Für den abgelieferten Service hat der Preis nicht gestimmt. Bisher das einzige Sternerestaurant, welches ich nicht weiterempfehlen werde. Essen: Wir haben uns für die 12 Gänge mit 3x Weinbegleitung und 1x alkoholfreie Getränkebegleitung entschieden. Das Essen ist fantastisch und macht es deutlich, was es bedeutet, Michelin-Sterne tragen zu dürfen. Kreativ, mit sehr viel Spiel und lokalem Charm. Mehrere Gänge bringen ein Lächeln eins Gesicht alleine mit ihrem Konzept. Weine waren gut ausgesucht, paar Mal waren wirkliche Überraschungen dabei, der Rest war unaufregend aber passend zusammengestellt. Jetzt leider zum Service: - Es haben sich einige Sachen angesammelt, bei denen ich die zwei Sterne hinterfrage und eindeutig sagen muss, dass es für das Preissegment unwürdig ist. - Auf Anfrage des Restaurants wurde uns vorgeschlagen die Reservierung auf einen Tag früher zu verschieben, weil das System überbucht hat. Als "Entschädigung" wurde uns ein Glas Dom Pérignon zum Anfang angeboten. Dies wurde jedoch nicht an den Service am Abend weitergetragen. Nachdem wir den Schriftverkehr mit der Umbuchung angesprochen haben, wurde ohne Diskussion ein Glas Crément eingeschenkt. Eine dezente Anfrage mit wem wir in Kontakt standen (Herrn Apelyushynskyy) konnten wir beantworten und somit scheinbar bestätigen, dass wir uns nichts ausgedacht haben. - Die Gänge wurden (teilweise?) von den jeweiligen Köchen serviert. Leider befand ich mich in einer Position nahe am Serviertisch, wodurch es ein paar Mal zum Körperkontakt beim Platzieren des Tellers kam. Kein Drama, jedoch nicht sonderlich passend zu gehobener Gastronomie. - Eine alkoholfreie Weinbegleitung wurde in einem klebrigen Glas serviert. Auf Anfrage wurde ein Tuch gereicht um es abzuwischen. Erfreulicher wäre gewesen, sich zu entschuldigen und ein frisches Glas zu reichen. - Ein Gang wurde mit einem Kölsch als Begleitung serviert. Dies galt auch für die Person mit der alkoholfreien Weinbegleitung. Es wurde nicht kommuniziert ob es alkoholfreies Kölsch ist. Da es jedoch nur ein Fässchen gab, kann man davon ausgehen, dass es ein normales Bier war, welches wir geschmacklich auch als solches verstanden haben. Leider ein Faux-pas. - Die Gänge werden von einem Spiel begleitet. An unserem Abend waren jedoch ein Großteil der Karten nicht existent, weil die Druckerei einen Fehler gemacht hat, wie man uns versichert hat. Dadurch wurde die Immersion aufgebrochen, weil sich das ganze unvollständig und schlampig angefühlt hat. - Bei einem Gang wurde keine Weinbegleitung serviert. Persönlich habe ich kein Problem damit, wenn man etwas Pause vom Alkohol bekommt, jedoch wäre es schön, wenn es entsprechend kommuniziert werden würde. Bis heute erschließt sich mir nicht ob es gewollt war oder nicht. - Wir haben die 12 Gänge gebucht. Es wurden auch genau 12 Gänge serviert. Auf den Punkt. Keine Amuse-Geule, kein Gruß aus der Küche. Bei diesem Kritikpunkt geht es weniger um etwas umsonst zu bekommen oder dass es zu wenig zu essen gab, sondern um eine Wertschätzung des Gastes. Retrospektiv ging man aus dem Restaurant mit einem Gefühl nur abgefertigt worden zu sein. - Weinbegleitung wurde etwas karg kommentiert. Etwas mehr zum Entscheidungsprozess diese Flasche mit diesem Gericht zu kombinieren wäre schöner. Am Ende haben sich paar Sachen zu sehr angesammelt, wodurch ich das Ox & Klee persönlich nicht weiterempfehlen kann. In den anderen Sternerestaurants (auch in Köln) habe ich weit bessere Abende verbracht. Aus meiner Sicht heraus, reicht die Immersion für zwei Sterne nicht.

Leider hat unser Besuch im „Ox & Klee“ einen schlechten Nachgeschmack hinterlassen. Der Abend sollte etwas ganz besonderes für uns sein. Ein Erlebnis, dass man nicht vergisst. Das Essen war bis auf den letzten Gang wirklich gut. Hier wurden wir überrascht durch Kreativität und Handwerkskunst. Das Konzept sieht eine interaktive Reise durch die Geschmackssinne vor. Das macht Spaß und ist auch interessant. Man erhält hier Infomaterial und Karten mit denen man die Gerichte und Zutaten verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen zuordnen kann. Aber nichts davon darf man behalten, es wird wieder für den nächsten Gast genutzt. Bei dem Preis des Menüs schon ungewöhnlich. Vor dem Menü wartet man vergeblich auf ein Amuse-Bouche. Dafür erhält man mitten im Menü einen Gruß aus der Küche, der natürlich voll berechnet wird. Das war eine Überraschung im negativen Sinne. Der letzte Gang hat mit Gegensätzen gespielt- für unseren Gaumen wurde hier der Bogen überspannt. Von den verschiedenen angeboten Desserts hat uns keine Variante geschmeckt. Da hatten wir das Gefühl, dass die Experimentierfreude vor dem Geschmackserlebnis stand. Schade, dass so ein Menü dieser Art endet. Das Ambiente ist eher unaufgeregt. Hier wurde weder auf eine gute Innenausstattung noch auf Bequemlichkeit gesetzt. Einzig der Ausblick in den Hafen hat hier einen positiven Eindruck hinterlassen. Unser größter Kritikpunkt ist allerdings der Service. An diesem Abend hat uns eine Vielzahl sehr junger Servicekräfte bedient. Keiner hat wirklich Engagement noch Professionalität ausgestrahlt. Nach aktivem Nachfragen kam ein junger Mann an unseren Tisch und hat eine generische Weinempfehlung ausgesprochen. Dieser wurde eher stiefmütterlich ausgeschenkt den Abend über, immer dann, wenn wir 20 Minuten vor einem leeren Glas saßen. Wir wurden weder darüber aufgeklärt, ob der Wein leer ist, noch gefragt, ob wir noch mehr trinken möchten. Mit dem Wasser war es leider genauso. Das Menü dauert ja einige Stunden. In diesen haben wir eine Flasche Wasser für einen unverschämten Preis erhalten. Und das im Sommer. Generell hat man sich nicht wirklich für uns interessiert, außer in den letzten Minuten und denen man uns einen Digestive aufgeschwatzt hat. Der plötzlich einsetzen Enthusiasmus hat uns hier angesteckt und die Aussicht auf ein Getränk hat uns dann noch mal ein Sümmchen gekostet. Aber natürlich muss man sich das gut überlegen in einem so hochpreisigen Lokal zu speisen. Haben wir auch. Nur sollte dann Preis und Leistung auch Matchen. Gerade in einem solchen Etablissement erwartet man erstklassigen Service! Stattdessen kamen leicht aufgeregte junge Menschen mit schlecht aufgesagten Texten nacheinander an unseres Tisch. Einer bringt das Essen ein anderer holt es, wieder ein anderer bringt es und so weiter. Für uns hatte der Service eher Studentenkneipen Charakter. Alles in allem also unvergesslich, aber nicht unvergesslich schön. Schade!

First of all, this is the longest dining experience you’ll ever undertake so be forewarned. Well deserved two Michelin stars. One seating per night, 12+ tasting course menu w or wo wine pairing. We did the wine pairing and honestly it was too much. The chef takes you on a sensory journey for all the senses. My videos are better, but I guess Google reviews does not allow videos. My pics do not do it justice! The ticket starts promptly at 6:30. Super cool space and only about 12 tables. You will be blown away by each course. A couple of tiny misses at the end but at nearly midnight, many dishes and many glasses of wine later, we didn’t care. With wine and tip it will set you back about a grand for two people. So worth it IMO

Ein super Restaurant mit tollem Hafenblick. Alles war ausgezeichnet an diesem wunderbaren Abend. Die Speisen waren von bester Qualität und geschmacklich hervorragend (Jakobsmuschel und Kalb waren sensationell). Alle 12 Gänge des Ox - Menüs waren geschmacklich großartig. Der korrespondierende Wein war tadellos. Der Service war stets präsent, ohne aufdringlich zu sein, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Ein wirklich hervorragender Abend. Das Service Personal ist zuvorkommend, nett und höflich aber nicht steif. Genau so stellt man sich junge frische aber gehobene Küche vor. Die Weinbegleitung war hervorragend und ein wahres Erlebnis. Alles in allem ein absolut gelungener Abend.

Die Enttäuschung schlechthin. Service unterbesetzt? Von Happening kann nicht die Rede sein. 3 Stunden für 8 Gang, wo gibt's denn sowas? Null Entertainment. Den Küchenchef gab es auch nicht zu sehen. Das Essen, wir haben es nicht verstanden. Teilweise war es aber auch so grenzwertig, dass ich es nicht runterschlucken konnte. 27 € für ein Gläschen Champus. In so einen rustikalen Ambiente. Schwierig. Wir hatten uns auf einen exzellenten Abend gefreut und wurden maximal enttäuscht.

For a long time I struggled with writing a relatively critical review because I didn't want to diminish the extreme work that goes into the kitchen. I had the vegetarian menu with a non-alcoholic drink accompaniment, which was quite appropriate and gives the whole thing plus points. However, the menu was disappointing. Ingredients, technique and presentation were undoubtedly first class. However, there were no interesting highlights in terms of taste. Mushroom terrine, green and white asparagus in successive courses, morel stuffed with potatoes (?), everything was just 'okay'. Our table service tried to appear as professional as possible, but as a result came across as incongruously stiff and awkward without displaying the appropriate level of professionalism. Attention was shown by a constant, obligatory, somewhat penetrating "Are you okay?" At the same time, several drinks were spilled and a glass was knocked over on the table and shattered. It can happen, but it also spoils the overall picture of an evening. Given the many positive reviews, we may have simply had a bad day, but my expectations, as well as those of my companion, were clearly exceeded.

Absolute favorite restaurant – both breakfast and dinner are unique. Creative, exciting dishes that taste fantastic and bring something special to every plate. Everything with great attention to detail and a great sense of quality. The service is absolutely top: super friendly, relaxed, totally professional and at eye level. You immediately feel welcome – simply pleasant. The new location is another real highlight: stylish, relaxed and with a really nice terrace. A young, modern shop with a great atmosphere. You can tell that there is a lot of attention to detail everywhere. Absolute recommendation!

Das Pottkind eignet sich hervorragend für ein Essen der besonderen Art in lockerem, sehr freundlichem Ambiente mit einem jungen, aufmerksamen Team. Das Überraschungsmenü war sehr abwechslungsreich und alles war schön und detailverliebt angerichtet. Wenn man wie wir die Möglichkeit hat, bei schönem Wetter draußen zu sitzen, kann man das rege Treiben der Südstadt verfolgen und in unserem Fall hat sogar noch ein sehr netter, freundlicher Herr am Tisch mit seiner Gitarre musikalisch sein bestes gegeben. Wir hatten hier einen sehr schönen Abend und auch der Stern ist sicherlich gerechtfertigt. Vielen Dank.
