We came here for breakfast to treat ourselves to something at the end of our vacation. Instead of the set menu, we opted for a single dish: the pancakes. The dish came beautifully presented with fresh flowers. Unfortunately, we didn't like the pancakes at all; the cardamom flavor overpowered the entire dish. Therefore, we only ate 1/3 of the pancakes and had to return the rest. The staff were very friendly and asked if there was anything wrong, to which we explained that we didn't like them. However, we would have expected an alternative or a lower bill, as we barely touched any of the dish.

I was invited to a Michelin-starred dinner here. Conclusion: (too) much staging, (too) little substance. The food tasted okay, but for Michelin-starred cuisine, it was often out of balance (acidity, salt, and flavor intensity). The staff was friendly, but their communication felt inauthentic (a friendly greeting without looking at you doesn't fit. Some comments were also "too casual"). While the restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was a bit too "intentionally different," and the decor was more lacking in style and concept than "casual." All in all, there was nothing to justify the hefty prices—especially compared to other Michelin-starred restaurants. A shame.

In the morning, they serve breakfast, with a very innovative menu. It's not exactly cheap (of course), but it's really good. Two portions per person was a bit too much for us, though, so we limited ourselves to one dish. We actually wanted to share the Scandi pancake, but unfortunately, we each got one... Otherwise, the service is excellent. Be sure to make a reservation.

Great restaurant! We go there at least once a year for the 3-course gourmet breakfast and love the concept of creating your own menu with slightly smaller portions from the available dishes. You can get a Michelin-starred breakfast here for €35 per person; the deal is unbeatable and worth every cent. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The highlight, however, is the food! The menu is updated several times a year and is always very varied and incredibly delicious. The dishes are carefully crafted with great attention to detail and are a delight every time. We will continue to come regularly and definitely recommend stopping by. Reservations are strongly recommended, at least 1-2 months in advance; the wait is worth it!

Great concept: guests sick = cash register rings. 👏 I made a reservation the same day, had to cancel due to illness, and still had to pay a €15 per person "penalty" – even though a 24-hour cancellation was simply impossible. By phone? Useless – they either hang up immediately or don't answer at all. Response by email: Not at all sympathetic or accommodating, the main thing is to collect money. So if you're looking for a restaurant that's less interested in guests than in fees: congratulations, you've come to the right place! For everyone else – stay away. For us, it was definitely the last time.

I was here for breakfast during the week with my adorable offspring (aka teenager). First and foremost, I have to highlight the beautifully designed ambiance and the friendly, competent, and warm-hearted team who contribute to it; we felt comfortable and welcome from the very first second! The small menu, created with heart and passion, would have loved to try everything, but unfortunately my companion didn't quite allow that as I had imagined 🙃 So we ordered the homemade iced tea with thyme (refreshing, the thyme aroma skillfully highlighted without tasting medicinal) and the best drink I've had the pleasure of enjoying this summer (or the last few...?): a homemade grapefruit popsicle in a sparkling wine that is great in its own right, with a bubble that is simply fun - popsicles with fizz! A great idea, never tried it like this before. My critical teen was thrilled with the homemade Danish with fruit curd (only "why does it have to have sorrel on it, it didn't say that?"), fluffy, buttery, and crispy on the outside. I ultimately opted for the classic Menemen, the "Turkish Shakshuka." It was beautifully spicy, with a perfect creamy consistency, and served with a red flatbread. A note on one or two reviews: although it's labeled as spicy, I found it piquant at best. I also found the generously portioned (pea?) sprouts on top to be a fresh, crunchy addition—so much for the variety of flavors. I would have liked to try more, but left it at that, certain that I'll say "see you next time," perhaps with the evening meal (including the carefully selected wine selection!). Thank you so much for this wonderful feel-good moment❤️

So, I've found that special "something" 😁. Whether it's dinner or the "brunch is dead" breakfast, there's always something to discover here! I find what Ms. Baumchefin and chefscheffler bring to the table enriching and outstanding in terms of taste. You can taste the nature and sustainability in every course. The breakfast also reflects the love and dedication that goes into the dinner. The service is unobtrusive yet always on point, with funny jokes! I reserved the sharing menu for breakfast with a larger group. Unfortunately, my guests and I didn't have a particularly good time, which I mentioned on-site. I was then advised to contact them by email, as there was no authorized contact person on-site. Here is an excerpt from the email, which Neobiota left unanswered for a long time and then unfortunately responded to with excuses and false facts: "I had made a reservation for a group at 12:00, with two latecomers arriving at 1:00 p.m. As is often the case – not everyone in the group was there on time at 12, but some arrived a few minutes late – that's certainly not nice for a restaurant, but certainly not unusual. Normally, you arrive at the restaurant, ideally on time, but sometimes 10 minutes late, sit down, look at the menu, order a drink, and think about what you want to eat, then the food is prepared – so it takes a while, in most cases up to half an hour from arrival to the first course being served. (…) When I arrived first, shortly before 12:00 p.m., I pointed out that some of my friends would unfortunately be slightly late arriving and immediately asked for the sharing menu to be served a little later." to serve in a staggered manner. Here, you immediately reprimanded me, saying that this would be difficult for the kitchen, but that they would try to simply send them on from around 12:20 p.m. onwards. My guests then gradually arrived – however, immediately at 12:10 p.m., they began placing massive amounts of food on the table, often the same dish. I then had to ask several times for the food to be served a little more slowly. I understand that a sharing menu is planned for large groups, and I think that's great. However, I think it's unrealistic and certainly an exception that everyone is seated at 12 p.m. sharp, with cutlery in hand, ready to start right away. I would have liked you to have been aware of this situation and reacted flexibly, so that I didn't have to ask for some consideration three times in total – and receive three rejections from you. So, my guests' arrival was hectic for me and for them; everything was in disarray, the food was piled up on the table, and we knew In the end, we couldn't even remember which of the dishes were vegetarian, vegan, or "normal" because we simply couldn't keep track of them given the sheer volume and speed of the process. If people arrive much too late, it's obviously a shame for them with a sharing menu – it's not your fault, I understand that, but rushing us through the menu like that was truly disproportionate, and I also consider the comments that the kitchen couldn't manage it any other way or that it needed to be finished faster to be unprofessional – especially since the restaurant wasn't completely full and they were able to plan for our group well in advance. I expected something completely different from a restaurant of your caliber, and I'm truly very disappointed." On top of that, there was a no-show fee of €30 for a bill of over €600. One person called in sick in the morning, which I understand, but for the other, it was calculated that I had unfortunately only called in 9:15 p.m. instead of 24 hours – so around lunchtime the day before. Of course, there's a right to charge this fee. But ultimately, I find it simply inappropriate and petty.

For my birthday, we reserved a table for breakfast on a weekday morning – the restaurant had plenty of free tables. Unfortunately, one person had to cancel at short notice, so only four of us came. We still ordered an extra main course. We were informed on arrival that we would have to pay a €15 no-show fee for the missing person. However, the fee wasn't included on the bill, so we thought they had retracted their statement. Now, more than 20 days later, the fee has finally been debited. We didn't expect NeoBiota to be so inflexible and unaccommodating – especially since we were dining there for five people. The food was fantastic – but this service is truly unsatisfactory. What a shame.

This was our first time visiting the new Neibiota. Due to the nice weather, we managed to get a table in the garden, where we had a wonderful time. We ordered the three-course breakfast menu... and were surprised that some portions were too small and some too large... The dishes weren't presented in a Michelin-starred style, but good... The taste of the individual dishes could still be improved. Everything was delicious, but not sensational, which is what we expected. The service was very attentive... and seemed a bit overwhelmed. We'll probably come back in six months and see if the new Neo Biota has established itself.

A breakfast like no other. The extensive breakfast menu is astonishing and makes you curious about the secrets behind each dish. We opted for the set menu, consisting of three self-selected courses from the menu. Everything was somehow delicious and good. And yet, we still felt like we were being cooked for by a journeyman, not a master. The service was charming, but at times a bit clumsy. We also wondered why the beautiful terrace hadn't been swept, but seemed somewhat neglected. Perhaps everything still needs a bit of a smoothing down at the new location. We'll be back after a while to see if things are back on track. We'll keep our fingers crossed and say: Good luck.

I celebrated my 20th birthday with my family with dinner here. We had the four-course menu with accompanying drinks. All the food and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were excellent. Special requests, such as gluten-free and vegan options, were taken into account and implemented very well. The service was very helpful, friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable. The only flaw in this all-around fantastic experience was the ambiance. It's not bad, but unfortunately doesn't do justice to the service and the food. The seating is pleasant on the terrace, overlooking a small garden. I highly recommend everyone to enjoy dinner here ;)

We were here last night with the whole family for my brother's birthday. The service was very, very good. The food was excellent and well-prepared for our dietary preferences and intolerances. I had a delicious vegan menu, and everything was prepared gluten-free for my sister (due to celiac disease), so we didn't have to miss a single course or go without anything. We also had a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and everyone loved them. They use regional products from within a 50-km radius and their own garden. A garden oasis just steps from Barbarossaplatz. We enjoyed a fantastic vegetarian menu, with complex flavors and perfectly arranged plates, most of the vegetables and herbs from the restaurant's own garden. It was packed! We accidentally hadn't reserved a table, but they were still allowed to stay! We found the staff very friendly. The waiter also explained to us very nicely "How does the food work here?" I had three dishes: I. Piglet Muesli (Photo 1) I've never eaten such delicious muesli. The variety of flavors was showcased, and the composition was simply brilliant. II. Poor Jan (no photo) The filling on and around the black pudding was very good and fully met my expectations. The black pudding itself had a good consistency, but was completely flavorless. The parenthetical note (savory) in the dish was completely missing. What a shame!!! III. Pink Stick Pancakes (Photo 2) The rhubarb and raspberry compote was simply too sweet for me. My wife liked it (so it's just a matter of taste...). It wasn't really my thing. What a shame! I also had bad luck with the Americano coffee. Yes, it had a special flavor, but unfortunately, it was very weak. The juice, in contrast, was A real hit of the day, a real treat!!! We were a bit unlucky with our table neighbors, who were talking very loudly, which bothered us a bit. My overall impression was still good, though. We'll be happy to come back!

Technically, everything is prepared to the highest standard: precise cooking times, clever textural contrasts, and harmonious aromatics. Particularly noteworthy are the plant-based alternatives, which are in no way inferior to animal-based versions in terms of their preparation and depth – proof that sustainability is not just a buzzword here, but a lived attitude. Concept & Atmosphere: NeoBiota sees itself as "casual fine dining" – an approach that is consistently implemented here. An open kitchen, relaxed music, informal service, and an interior that deliberately emphasizes understatement. This contrast to traditional Michelin-starred cuisine works brilliantly – guests feel invited, not observed. Service & Wine Pairing: The service is competent, attentive, and pleasantly unpretentious. The wine pairings are creatively curated – not dogmatic, but with the courage to surprise. Non-alcoholic pairings are also well thought out and complement the menu on a level playing field. I had dinner at the new Neobiota for the first time a few weeks ago and was absolutely thrilled. So, let me say this in advance: The fact that the Michelin Guide didn't award the star again is completely unjustified. The guide should honor Neobiota again next year at the latest. The menu was truly impressive, and the wine pairing was very well-matched, with many pleasant surprises outside the mainstream. I was particularly impressed by the intensity of the flavors in the food. A wonderful taste experience of a very high standard. The service was also refreshingly personable and very friendly. The only drawback is the ambiance – I still feel the rooms lack a bit of structure. Nevertheless, I see ambition and potential for a second star. Currently, Neobiota is my top recommendation in Cologne.

A broad spectrum of flavors in a circular segment: On the ground floor of the Rotonda, on Pantaleonswall, NeoBiota presents itself as a manageable, spacious restaurant with a grounded, modern, gently lodge-like aesthetic. The dining room appears to 'circle' radially at an approximately 30-degree angle around the partially open kitchen. This, one could say, symbolic origin of the kitchen is very appropriate here. What is created there and served to the guest in a friendly and unobtrusive manner (in my case, in the form of a brunch) is indeed very good: three plate dishes from a well-thought-out, yet unobtrusive selection. Salmon, black pudding with apple ('Poor Jan'), and pancakes. Each freshly prepared. Modern and expertly crafted, both in form and combination. The unifying element: a very well-tempered acidity that adds an additional freshness. With beautiful individuality of the individual dishes and a broad spectrum of flavors. And all this at a very reasonable price (set menu for just under €40). You have to make a reservation - and rightly so.

Starting with the service, which is always super friendly and accommodating, leaves nothing to be desired, and turns every dish and drink into a little journey of discovery. Our first time at Neobiota... and we were impressed! We had the four-course menu with wine pairing, which was rounded out by several specials from the kitchen and other additions to create a quite comprehensive experience. I found the main theme to be the plant-based components from regional cultivation, presented with beautiful flavors and interesting textures, which I found truly outstanding in their form. I'd like to highlight, for example, pumpkin seeds, blueberries, woodruff, and potato profiteroles with mushroom ketchup filling. The combinations with fish (Eifler sturgeon) and meat (Mecklenburg heifer) were a fitting addition to the menu and were simply convincing. However, the dishes are usually quite strongly seasoned, which I enjoyed, but may not be to everyone's liking. Several desserts were available, the best perhaps being the chicory ice cream with various dandelion preparations. The wine pairings were surprisingly unusual, including a slightly sweet Gewürztraminer or a Kis Tamas from Hungary, followed by a Riesling Dreiklang Spätlese from Trossen. Very friendly staff. The space feels a bit sterile, with a high reverberation factor. Overall, it was an outstanding experience!

We were there for breakfast, and overall it was quite good: The three-course meal was reasonably priced, filling, and the flavor really impressed us. A real outlier, however, was the "Kölsch Rarebit" dish – a grilled cheese sandwich with Mühlenkölsch and some pickled vegetables for a whopping €18. Unfortunately, it consisted of just a simple piece of white toast with cheese and two small gherkins – absolutely disappointing in both appearance and taste, especially in a restaurant of this category. Either we didn't understand the culinary ambition of this dish, or they really just served toast from a sandwich maker, which was more reminiscent of supermarket fare. Completely disproportionate for the price. The service was sometimes very attentive, but also unfocused and a bit sloppy at times – there was a clear range here. The atmosphere was rather loud, which was a bit annoying, especially at breakfast. The restrooms were okay, but surprisingly basic for a Michelin-starred restaurant operating in the evenings (at least it was clean). Please note: Our experience refers exclusively to breakfast, not the evening service!

The atmosphere is somehow not personal enough for me and is too stressful because there are so many tables in the room. Our service was very friendly and relaxed, but overall it didn't seem as homely to me as I would have liked. The food was good, but nothing more. For the prices, especially for breakfast, I personally expect some "aha, wow or ooohhh" moments. Unfortunately these didn't happen for me. Everything was top-notch in terms of craftsmanship, but somehow I was still missing that certain something. The coffee (Americano) has to be better for me at this level. The cocktails were very good. Price/performance is definitely far too unbalanced for me personally, so I will probably stay with one visit. Nevertheless, thank you very much for the lovely morning in the NB. ☀️

We went there for brunch for my birthday. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. Egg Benedict: was actually the tastiest of all but bad again for the price. It just lacked sophistication. Salmon trout: was way too acidic for me. Pancakes: weren't cooked through (see photos) and I found it really bold that the waiter claimed that they were supposed to be that way. Apart from that, the consistency was just too thick (the few parts that were cooked) and the apple compote was also way too sour (and I say that as someone who really likes to eat sour things). Kombucha was okay for €5 Service was not attentive at lunchtime. The “cheap” price has its drawbacks… Conclusion: Price performance is simply not right. 35€ is not worth it for the food. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

We gave away the 3-course breakfast for our birthday and had a lovely time at Neobiota with a very friendly but unobtrusive team and good food. Very pleasant: the tables are not so close. It convinced us to come back and unfortunately not. Visually everything is very nicely presented; Tastes good, but without a certain sophistication, so nothing sticks as something special. Unfortunately, the roasted bread at the Red-Green-Benedict was so hard and felt like it only consisted of crust, so it was very difficult to cut with a knife and I couldn't enjoy the dish as I had expected, the egg was perfect. Similar with the Korean bagel: bagel extremely hard and no soft crumb at all, the pulled mushroom was very good, the kimchi was unfortunately bland. It was similar with my companions: Menemen, Nordic sandwiches and hot dogs tasted good, but nothing said “wow”. For the third course we all had the pancakes. They were really tasty and a nice ending. Overall, price-performance isn't quite right for us.

We spent our Easter holiday this year in the Neobiota star restaurant run by Sonja Baumann and Erik Scheffler and their great team at a new location in Cologne. Als erstes muss man sagen, dass das gesamte Personal und die Inhaber alle extrem freundlich waren und die Gäste umsorgt haben. Das Essen ist jedoch sehr speziell, für Vegetarier oder Veganer wird es sicherlich die Top Adresse im Sternebereich sein, für jemanden der nicht auf Fleisch verzichten möchte ist es sehr gemüselastig. Vielleicht hätten wir uns vorher mit dem Konzept besser auseinander setzen müssen, dann hätten wir sicherlich ein anderes Restaurant gewählt. Zufällig war ich beruflich die letzten Wochen auch im Ox & Klee und im Maibeck (zwei andere Sternerestaurants in Köln) und das war für mein Empfinden beide um Längen besser. Es mag auch an meinem Alter (50) liegen, aber das Neobiota erscheint uns doch sehr alternativ und „woke“ - beides nicht so ganz meines. Dadurch das nur heimische Produkte verarbeitet werden, wird sehr viel Kohl und heimischer Fisch (gerne auch Fischhaut) serviert. Selbst das Dessert bestand aus dreierlei von der Roten Beete mit Basilikumeis. Nach dem ganzen Kohl mit einer gewissen Schärfe serviert hätte man sich etwas schokoladiges gewünscht. Man muss sagen, die Qualität der Produkte ist jedoch top und die Weinbegleitung sehr gut.

Food was tasty, although not comparable to other one-star shops (such as Tulus Lotrek in Berlin or Agatas in Düsseldorf). Sommelier was very good and tried very hard. Service was rather mediocre (the chef reprimanded guests to please move aside when he put plates on the table). The food wasn't optimal for the price (several courses were noticeably oversalted or too sour). Not a bad restaurant, but not recommended given the options in the region for this price (around EUR 300 per person with wine pairing).

Wir hatten einen insgesamt schönen Mittag im Neobiota. Das Frühstück ist (je nach Auswahl im Menü) abwechslungsreich und hübsch anzuschauen. Wir haben einen Großteil der vegetarischen Angebote auf der Karte durchprobiert, von herzhaft nach süß. Über Geschmäcker lässt sich ja bekanntlich streiten und auch die Wahl der Favoriten fiel höchst unterschiedlich aus. Während „Benedict“ mit Kürbis, porchiertem Ei und einer großen Portion Schaum etwas matschig in der Konsistenz, fad im Geschmack und in der Portionsgröße einigermaßen bescheiden daherkam, waren die Waffeln und Pancakes dermaßen süß und die Portionen so mächtig, dass man für einen Tag 16/8 bestens gerüstet war. Persönlich sehe ich die Besonderheiten des Neobiota Frühstücks stärker in seinen optischen als in den kulinarischen Kompetenzen. Für das was man geboten bekommt sind die Preise (insbesondere im Menü) sehr fair! Wir haben zu dritt für 3 Gänge Frühstück und Getränke 140€ inkl Trinkgeld bezahlt, was insofern als angemessen geprüft ist als das der Laden auf Monate ausgebucht ist. Fotogene Leckerbissen in Kombination mit dem Nimbus der abendlichen Sterneküche funktionieren offenbar so gut, dass man beim Service und dem gesamten Buchungs- und Abwicklungsprozess ein paar Abstriche in Kauf nimmt. Ich hatte für 4 Personen reserviert, waren letztendlich nur zu dritt dort was 15€ „Strafe“ 10 Tage später auf der Kreditkarte bedeutet. Ja, es steht im Kleingedruckten, aber kann man das dann nicht am Ende des Aufenthalts irgendwie abwickeln, anstatt das so nonchalant abzubuchen? Natürlich ist der große Erfolg Fluch und Segen zugleich, dafür habe ich auch Verständnis! Outsourcing macht hier sicherlich Sinn, bringt für mich als Gast aber so viele Nachteile, die das ansich nette Erlebnis und die hübschen Bildchen nicht aufwiegen. Für mich hat das Gesamtpaket nicht gepasst, was wie aus meinen Ausführungen hoffentlich deutlich wird, nicht an der eigentlichen Kernkompetenz des Neobiota Frühstücks lag. Schade!

The wine accompaniment was very white wine-heavy, the only red wine had a slightly predominant acidity. At this time of year and with the rather spicy dishes, some tannic red wines would have harmonized better. Service was very nice and without any complaints. What should be emphasized is the emphasis on sustainability, the vast majority of the ingredients are sourced from the surrounding area. Would I come back? - Why, surely!

We visited the restaurant on the occasion of my partner's birthday and tried the vegan course menu. Unfortunately, the food as a whole didn't quite meet our taste - with the exception of the dessert, which was really successful. However, I believe that this was less due to the skills of the chefs and more due to our fast food-influenced diet. 😊 I would still like to make a more serious criticism: Almost all of the dishes were spicy. I would have liked to have been asked beforehand whether you like spiciness or can tolerate it well. The service, however, was excellent. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and we felt well looked after. The waiting times between courses were reasonable: with a 4-course menu you had a little more time between dishes, while with an 8-course menu there was something on the table almost constantly. Expect the evening to last until at least 11 p.m. You should also take the cost of drinks into account, as you will of course consume a lot over the four hours. The atmosphere was pleasant and not overly formal - rather relaxed. However, I found the room to be a bit tight. The service staff often had to walk past close behind us, which probably couldn't be solved in any other way structurally, but it did affect the enjoyment of a menu in this price range a little. In addition, the tables were very close to each other, making it difficult to have a conversation with the other person without overhearing the conversations of the other guests. I understand that such space conditions may be unavoidable for economic reasons, but I hope that this can be improved in the future. An important note about the food: It is very healthy and places great value on the natural taste of the ingredients - in the spirit of star cuisine. This can be a pleasure for some, but a challenge for others. All in all, we are happy to recommend the restaurant - especially to guests who are keen to experiment, love spiciness and have a high budget. Waren zusammen mit Freunden hier und haben das 6 Gäng Menü genossen. Der Service - insbesondere auch des jungen Sommeliers - war hervorragend, die Anzahl der Amuse-Bouce (hoffe, das ist der richtige Fall), der leckeren "Schweinereien" zum Ende war sehr groß und alle Gänge - mit weitgehend ausschließlich lokalen Zutaten -sehr schmackhaft und wunderschön angerichtet. Und wieso dann nur 4 Sterne? Einfach, weil gemessen am Preis, mir hier die Überraschung, das Besondere fehlte. Das war am ehesten beim Wikingerfrühstück, das zu recht seit Anbeginn des Restaurants auf der Karte steht - gegeben. Nicht falsch verstehen, alle Gänge waren sehr gut gut und entsprechen absolut dem Niveau eines Michelin Restaurant und ich werde sicherlich das Neobiota weiter besuchen und weiterempfehlen, aber wenn ich fragen würde, zu welchem Restaurant in Köln man unbedingt gehen muss, hätte ich ein paar Alternativen

Nobody was friendly and we were asked for drinks exactly once during the entire breakfast. A meal in a star restaurant should offer a special experience not only in terms of taste, but also in terms of service and ambience - unfortunately that certain something was missing here. I hope my experience was exceptional as I expected more from a restaurant of this caliber.

We went to neobiota for breakfast. Really stylishly furnished small guest room. Everything fits together here. The service was very friendly and always kept an eye on us. The times between the individual menu items are perfectly adjusted and consistent. For breakfast you choose three courses. There is only a small selection of different delicacies on the menu. From muesli to Spanish scrambled eggs with chorizo ​​to white sausage toast, everything is included. The coffee specialties are well selected and very delicious. If you like more upscale cuisine, you should visit neobiota.

We had the "casual threesome", including aperitif, wine accompaniment, water and coffee for €110. The concept of NeoBiotas (casual star cuisine, utilization of all ingredients, regional and seasonal) works and is great. The service is courteous and friendly. The numerous components of the dishes are sometimes rattled off a bit quickly (for someone who is hearing the components for the first time) and sometimes they are thrown together in a somewhat wild/experimental way (you should be open to that). The dishes are unusually strongly seasoned (I like it), sometimes a bit acidic and spicier. I would have liked the wine pairing to give you a tasting sip first and then you could decide. The atmosphere is quite nice. Unfortunately we sat at a very high high table (an oversight when making the reservation), later in the evening it gets a bit drafty and in my opinion the music is rather inappropriate (e.g. ACDC). Overall a positive experience. If necessary, I'll come back for the much-praised breakfast.

Der Service ist leider nicht gut informiert, was die Zutaten der Speisen angeht, dafür aber freundlich.  Insgesamt herrscht eine typische Café-Atmosphäre mit vielen Schrein Kindern vor, da kann der Betreiber wenig für, das muss man hinnehmen und ist auch ok, wenn man es vorher weiß. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist noch in Ordnung, auch wenn man sich über die Jahre ein wenig mehr Innovation wünschen würde. Positiv ausgedrückt, sind viele Klassiker über lange Zeit auf der Karte.

French inspired, but fairly contemporary 1-star restaurant. Very strong menu using a lot of great product. Overall great experience. The tuna with caviar was amazing, worth getting it as an extra (one portion is enough for two). Nice wine selection and good service. The place itself is ok but not amazing. Nevertheless, very recommended.

For a long time, I struggled with writing a relatively critical review, as I don't want to diminish the extreme work that goes into the kitchen. I had the vegetarian menu with a non-alcoholic beverage accompaniment, which was quite appropriate and added bonus points to the whole experience. The menu, however, was disappointing. The ingredients, technique, and presentation were undoubtedly first-class. However, the taste was lacking in interesting highlights. Mushroom terrine, green and white asparagus in successive courses, morels stuffed with potato(?), all just 'quite okay'. Our table service tried to appear as professional as possible, but as a result, it came across as inappropriately stiff and awkward, without demonstrating the appropriate professionalism. Attention was shown by a constant, obligatory, somewhat penetrating "Is everything OK?" At the same time, several drinks were spilled, and a glass was knocked over at the table and shattered. It can happen, but it also tarnishes the overall impression of an evening. Considering the many positive reviews, we may have simply had a bad day, but my expectations, as well as those of my companions, were significantly exceeded.

The food was fantastic! I'd give it 6 stars. The problem was the wine pairing. The restaurant advertises a selection of approximately 1,800 wines. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to substitute the red wines listed in the wine pairing with adequate white wines, which somewhat diminished our enjoyment. We were offered alternative wines by the glass from the wine list, but this seems difficult, as you only have a rough idea of ​​what to expect.

This was our first time at this excellent restaurant. The ambiance was a bit dated for my taste, but chic. We had a window seat overlooking the Rhine. If it weren't for the tall trees, we would have seen a bit more of the river of all rivers. The service was very friendly and always had a nice story to tell. There was nothing wrong with the food. Everything was delicious and not overpriced for a really good restaurant. We left very full and satisfied and will be back.
