Der Service ist wirklich schlecht, respektlos und arrogant.

Sehr schlechter Service. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht, besonders weil ich aus München komme.

Waren heute zum Lunch da. Essen war perfekt, sehr lecker. Der italienische Mitarbeiter im Service sehr freundlich , sehr positiv. Minuspunkte für die Dame an der Reservierung die war sehr unfreundlich und arrogant

Sehr feiner Brunch mit wunderschöner Jazz-Musik. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich habe meine Buchveröffentlichung hier veranstaltet und war rundum zufrieden. Hervorragender Service, schönes Ambiente, zuverlässige Kommunikation und faire Preise. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Schönes Ambiente. Leider nicht ganz so herzlicher Service (eher forsch) und das Essen schmeckte leider etwas fad. Für die Preise würde ich nicht noch mal kommen.

Leider wurden das Beilagen Gemüse auch nach mehreren Nachfragen erst nachdem serviert als ich das Fleisch schon aufgegessen hatte. Sonst wäre das Essen auch fünf Sterne wert.

Das hervorragende Essen kann die mangelnde Professionalität des Kellners und die unprofessionelle Reaktion des Managers auf die falschen Bestellungen nach 1 Stunde und 45 Minuten Wartezeit nicht wettmachen.

Ambiente abends gegen 9-10 etwas laut, Service freundlich, nach Servieren wurden wir aber “vergessen”. Home-made Limonade war sehr gut. Schoko-Kuchenstück gut. Besuch im Rahmen der kulinarischen Tramtour des Weis(s)en Stadtvogels.

..kam wegen dem Geschirr (schade, dass es zur Zeit nicht mehr erhältlich ist und dies leider auch nicht auf der Homepage so steht, sondern einem vermittelt wird, es sei noch erhältlich), blieb wegen dem Raum, der Atmosphäre und dem feinen Salat....was bleibt ist ein verblasstes "Geschirrzitat"

Die Quiche-Vorspeise war beeindruckend großzügig – gut, dass wir sie geteilt haben! Wunderschön zubereitet und voller Geschmack. Der absolute Star des Essens war jedoch das Kartoffelpüree – einfach hervorragend, nahezu perfekt. Auch die anderen Gerichte waren durchweg gut und lecker. Das Restaurant ist geräumig und schön eingerichtet, allerdings ist die Akustik etwas geräuscharm; da die Hintergrundmusik leise ist, fühlt es sich etwas unangenehm an, sich in der Gruppe lauter zu unterhalten. Der Service war durchweg schnell, freundlich und aufmerksam.

Trotz vieler freier Tische abgewiesen, da diese angeblich reserviert waren. Habe dann gegenüber meinen Kaffee getrunken und gesehen dass die Tische nie besetzt wurden. Mal schauen wie lamge das Kaffee besteht.

Frühzeitig reserviert, pünktlich da, trotzdem ein wenig einladender Tisch auf der Empore angeboten. Unten diverse "schöne" Tische frei. Auf die freundliche Frage nach einer Alternative folgte eine bemerkenswert reduzierte Auslegung von Gastlichkeit: Ein Tisch wurde reserviert, ein Tisch wurde bereitgestellt, damit sei alles gesagt. Ich bin dann wieder gegangen. Ein Stern — nicht für die Platzwahl, sondern für die Haltung

Update März 2026: Auch zwei Monate nach meinem letzten Besuch bleibt die Brasserie OskarMaria eine Bank. Der Espresso Martini wird hier immer noch auf höchstem Niveau gemixt – für mich mittlerweile der perfekte flüssige Nachtisch in diesem eleganten Ambiente. Der Service an der Bar ist weiterhin top und das Flair am Salvatorplatz einfach unschlagbar für einen stilvollen Moment in der Stadt. ____________________________ Ein wunderbarer Rückzugsort im Herzen der Stadt! Die Brasserie OskarMaria am Salvatorplatz besticht durch ihr großzügiges, elegantes Ambiente im Literaturhaus. Wir haben hier exzellente Espresso Martini genossen – perfekt gemixt von der Barfrau und in sehr attraktiven Gläsern präsentiert. Der Service war absolut nett und zuvorkommend, besonders das Team an der Bar versteht sein Handwerk. Die Lage ist herrlich zentral und dennoch angenehm ruhig. Ja, die Preise sind mit 13,— Euro pro Cocktail (und generell) am oberen Ende angesiedelt, aber die Qualität und das stilvolle Umfeld rechtfertigen den Besuch für besondere Momente. Ein echter Tipp für Genießer, die das moderne Münchner Kaffeehaus-Flair suchen.

Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. It started well, but then the main course was forgotten and had to be reminded twice. The first time the main course arrived, it was something that hadn't been ordered and wasn't on the menu. The kitchen had simply replaced the promised asparagus with zucchini, served without explanation. When asked what it was, the waiter seemed baffled.

It's always lovely to stop here for a break. After the Moomins, a delicious almond-marzipan croissant with a latte. Very friendly service.

The ambiance is spacious yet very cozy. The service was absolutely courteous, attentive, and professional. We felt very comfortable. The food was excellent and thoroughly impressed us. In my opinion, one of the servers, Nabil, deserves special mention. Parking is difficult, but there's a parking garage just a few meters away. As an aside: I found the very long radiators fascinating; at first glance, I thought they were stucco.

Bad food, tough and oversalted steak, and mashed potatoes swimming in butter.

Review Unfortunately, my visit to this café left a thoroughly negative impression. Upon entering, the decidedly unfriendly atmosphere was immediately noticeable, largely due to the staff's behavior. I was only greeted after an unusually long wait, even though the café wasn't particularly busy. This lack of basic service elements conveyed the feeling of being unwelcome from the very beginning. The extended period without any interaction or apparent attention significantly hampered a pleasant experience and raised doubts about the service organization. Friendliness, responsiveness, and proactive communication are key indicators of quality in the hospitality industry; in this case, they fell far short of expected standards. Overall, the poor service so severely marred the entire experience that other potential qualities of the café were overshadowed. A fundamental improvement in customer service seems urgently needed to ensure more positive future visits.

The food was really delicious! Plenty of truffles and the price was reasonable for the quality. Reservations are absolutely necessary because unfortunately, the brasserie is very popular and without a reservation you'll have to wait in line for ages or find an alternative. The noise level isn't conducive to good conversation and the waiter didn't seem to enjoy his job!

You seriously need to train your waiters, they're obviously very rude and condescending. It's very disheartening to see that a lot of your customers already complained about this and you responding that you will talk to your team 2 month ago but to this day they don't even know how to even be polite. I did not pay to be treated like this and I believe none of your other customers did too

Enjoyable brunch at this brasserie with live music... Very friendly and helpful service. Good food, especially the tartare... Also ideal for just a glass of wine and listening to some music 😊

Brasserie OskarMaria is absolutely fantastic! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the Sunday brunch with live jazz is simply amazing. Great atmosphere and really good food. Everything is fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. In summer, the terrace is a highlight – gorgeous, sunny, and perfect for relaxing. A truly wonderful place; we always love coming back!

Four of us had a reservation that evening. The service was very friendly, and the table and atmosphere were very pleasant. For me, eating out in this price range isn't something I do every day, so it was something special. I opted for fried chicken, which was a huge mistake. I've never eaten such dry, fried chicken, so hard-boiled, that I had a hard time getting it off my plate. And that for €27. The potato salad served with it was good and perfect. But still, potato salad. Perhaps I should have spent around €40 for a meal that would have made me happy. If I'm ever willing to invest around €25 for coffee and cake again, I'll be back.

A spontaneous and therefore more than successful evening. Arrived too early? No problem. The food? Exactly our taste. Corn-fed chicken breast with artichoke cream for my wife and gratinated scallops with spinach for me were the perfect choices. Chocolates, excellent espresso, and the slightly too-spicy hazelnut schnapps rounded off this wonderful evening. We'll definitely be back again, perhaps bringing some literary-inspired dishes with us. More sex, please! 😃

The space is quite big, but the seating arrangement feels poorly managed. Even when there are a few empty tables, the staff still ask solo customers to share tables with other solo guests, which feels a bit uncomfortable. With better use of space, it could be a much nicer experience.

The vibe here is just wonderful! 🥰🥰🥰Every Sunday at lunchtime, you can enjoy a live jazz concert 😌😌😌while having your meal. The atmosphere was so joyful and cool🎶🎶. The food, however, was okay — not bad, but nothing special….

The pumpkin cream soup was only lukewarm. The chocolate mousse cake tasted distinctly stale. Overall, it was too expensive. Not recommended.

Horrible service, very rude waiters. We waited for the menu for 20 minutes (after the waitress yelled at us to wait to be seated). We waited for the check another 15 minutes. After I reminded the waiters 4 times about the check, I went to the bar to ask what the issue was. The waitress told me to calm down and that “it’s never nice to make trouble”. Never again.

The best Caesar salad ever! Professional service and a very helpful manager. It's been a favorite spot for years, and I love visiting it again and again – highly recommended!

A delight with excellent service. Today, after a long absence, we spontaneously visited Brasserie OskarMaria. The food was wonderful. The dishes were perfectly balanced according to the seasons. We'll be back and happily recommend this cultural brasserie.

Delicious food!!! Very tasty! I highly recommend the creme brulee to finish. Perfect for a relaxed after-work dinner or in a business setting. Not too loud, friendly service. We'd be happy to go again!

On August 13th, I was at the Literaturhaus with a friend around 12:30 p.m. We wanted to eat. We were denied a seat outside, even though there were four free tables, and only one of them was occupied during our stay (see below). The service was slow, but the food—salad and quiche—was good. When we wanted to pay, we had to wait a long time because friends of the waiter appeared. They were immediately seated outside and served promptly. We noticed that other guests who had ordered salad received bread with it, but we didn't. When paying, we asked if bread was included with the salad. The waiter's reply: "It depends." The restaurant is only recommended if you know the staff; other guests don't seem to be particularly welcome.

We had high expectations for Oskar Maria, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The restaurant seems to try to offer a bit of everything (French/Italian/German?), which leads to a lack of clear focus. The place is obviously trendy, as it was quite crowded, and as a result, the service was noticeably slow and somewhat inattentive. As for the food, it was just okay — nothing particularly memorable. We ordered oysters that were surprisingly tiny, scallops that were overwhelmed by too much oil, and a chicken dish that was okay. Overall, Oskar Maria didn’t live up to the hype for us. It feels like the restaurant is spread too thin, and the quality suffers because of it. A disappointing visit given the buzz around the place.

The food was truly wonderful. I've never eaten such good shrimp. Unfortunately, it was very crowded with a large group. The waiter was unresponsive and complained repeatedly that he had to walk several times, and then he used swear words to justify it. It's a shame, but the food was great.

The Literaturhaus München offers a unique culinary experience in the heart of the city. Dishes like the freshly prepared Caesar salad and the finely smoked salmon impress with their quality and flavor. The service is friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is calm and elegant, ideal for relaxing. Despite its central location, it is pleasantly quiet. Perfect for a stylish lunch or a relaxed coffee break with a literary flair.

Perfect for a fine dining experience. A quiet atmosphere, excellent food, and attentive service. The only downside: only 0.2-liter Coke bottles are available; a 0.33-liter bottle would have been much better.

Avoid at all cost. Rude waiter! Absolutely awful experience. When we politely asked the waiter (the one with glasses and semy grey hair) if we could place our order, he rudely snapped, “You can wait.” Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. After that, we were ignored for ages, our food finally came out cold, and no one bothered to check on us or offer any kind of apology. It’s clear this place doesn’t care at all about customer service. We won’t be coming back, and I’d recommend others avoid it too.

A beautiful place in the heart of Munich, perfect for an elegant lunch or dinner. Very stylish, modern decor with a touch of classic - great atmosphere, especially if you sit by the windows. Very good drinks - I especially recommend the iced coffee, desserts are also impressive. The wine list is extensive, the service knows its stuff (although the waiting time can be longer during peak hours). Prices are not the lowest, but the quality and location make up for it. It is worth booking in advance, especially on weekends.

I've been to this restaurant several times for lunch, and the pasta dishes are usually really good—sometimes even excellent. The pasta is well-prepared, and the sauces are flavorful and balanced. However, you need a bit of luck with the day: some days the quality was excellent, others rather average. Perhaps this is due to the different chefs working. Overall, though, a highly recommended restaurant—especially if you catch the right day!

This afternoon, while strolling through central Munich, my companion and I decided to visit the Brasserie OskarMaria. The terrace looked inviting: around 70% of the tables were free, many with reservation signs – nevertheless, the friendly lady at the entrance warmly invited us to sit down. What followed was less literary than theatrical. A tall waiter approached energetically, with conspicuous gestures – perhaps as a substitute for linguistic nuance – and shooed us away with a vehemence that was more reminiscent of chasing sparrows from a bakery stand than welcoming guests. No explanation, no smile, no "Sorry, no" – just a silent monologue of hands and frowns. So, unfortunately, I have nothing to say about the cuisine. But I do have something to say about the atmosphere, which – despite the prominent inscription "Literaturhaus München" – was more Kafka than Goethe. P.S. May the spirit of literature not only adorn the facade, but also permeate the service area again someday.

We were privileged to spend a wonderful evening at the Oskar Maria Graf Restaurant in the Literaturhaus Munich with a group of 16 colleagues and our supervisor – and we would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU. From the very first moment, we were greeted with exceptional attention, warmth, and charming service and were accompanied throughout the evening. A very special thank you goes to Mr. Kolder, our wonderful waiter Peter, and the entire team, who, with professionalism and a palpable joy in their work, created an all-round successful atmosphere. The meal was a culinary highlight – creative, finely balanced, and prepared to perfection. We felt not only welcome, but truly cared for. A huge compliment for this outstanding performance. It was an evening we will remember for a long time. We would love to come back!

I purposefully went to the brasserie around three o'clock on Tuesday afternoon with my new book, to enjoy my reading in a stylish atmosphere with a glass or two and perhaps a small snack. I then waited patiently until one of the many service employees, who were constantly communicating with each other, was willing to assign me a table. The guests had all been seated on the left side of the restaurant, so it was quite noisy there, and only the "cat tables" in the back were free, and only one was offered. The right side, meanwhile, was completely empty. Not a pleasant seating arrangement, and on top of that, it was stuffy and smelly. I left immediately. What a shame!

Food was delicious (burrata salad, Cesar salad with chicken, risotto, linguine, wine). Super pleasant lunch and atmosphere. Service was top notch despite being on the quieter second floor. Fun plates and sayings. We would definitely return and recommend this restaurant. Thank you

I had the pleasure of tasting the "Gio" pasta at a restaurant I'd been wanting to visit for a long time, and I can safely say it was more than worth the wait. The presentation was meticulously thought out down to the smallest detail: elegant but not overly opulent, with a harmonious color scheme that hinted at the complexity of the flavors. The first bite is strikingly impressive, with the perfect balance of ingredients—each component plays a clear role without overpowering the others. The texture of the dish was also excellent—intense but balanced flavors, with a surprising, pleasant finish that lingers on the tongue. The high quality of the ingredients used and the chef's sure instinct are clearly noticeable.

In fact, everything works perfectly here in Oskar Maria Brasserie — the food, the service, and the atmosphere. It's a lovely place to enjoy a drink before or after an event at the Literaturhaus. The popular jazz brunches on the weekend are also a wonderful experience.

We had the beef tartare as a starter and the steak frites as a second course. It tasted great, first class, value for money was right. All the food looked excellent. Ambiance upscale, quiet and pleasant.

We had a business networking dinner with 30 participants. The restaurant staff was more than amazing. Very professional and welcoming, we had a great evening thanks to them. If I could give 10 stars, I would. The food was also very good.

You have to eat here. I tried entercote, french steak. Food is amazing, enterior is lush; they are amazing.

Everything was fine. This is my third time here and I don't understand the negative comments.

We had a reservation at 10am on a Sunday. The drinks and food took a little longer than I expected, otherwise the service was very good and friendly. The birthday child in our group also received the candle we had brought with us on the dish. After almost 2.25 hours we were kindly informed that our reservation was only valid until 15 minutes - but this was also communicated in advance. The only point of criticism was the live music that morning: it was very loud and unfortunately it was very difficult to have a conversation. Next time I would recommend a table further away from the “stage”.

Very nice restaurant with a good, clear menu and daily changing dishes. The food is super tasty and definitely worth the money. The service is very courteous and the food came quickly. I was there again today for lunch. I'll definitely come back. P.S I really like the sayings on the doilies and plates. In the evening you should make a reservation. It was quite well attended.

Was there again today. A completely normal restaurant (and more) at a very high level.

Kindergarten - we came to jazz on a Sunday and were surrounded by toddlers running around. Food is far too expensive and poor quality.

The tarte flambée with truffles was very tasty. Nice ambience.

A classic in Munich, the Brasserie Oskar Maria. Really nice elegant ambience. We had pre-booked a quiet table and that worked out great. Even though it was really busy, friendly and quick service. The food is really of excellent quality, I would love to come here again

It was very busy and we waited at least half an hour for two pieces of cake and a hot chocolate. The cake (red velvet) was far too sweet and rich for me personally. When we sat down we also had to wait 10 minutes before we could even order.

Came here for NYE in 2023 and enjoyed it so much that we came back for NYE 2024. Food was excellent, the music was top shelf, and the ambiance was just right for a slow meal to count down the final hours of the year. The NYE Prix Fixe menu isn’t cheap! And I was a bit take aback when the server essentially asked for a tip when running our card. I took the bait, but it sort of cast a shadow on an otherwise perfect evening. All said, classy place with great food. Would go again.

Update December 28, 2024 The food was very good as usual. The French onion soup is extra class. The service was also very good and courteous. Always happy to come. ................. I've been coming to the brasserie for lunch for many years. The bouillabaisse is a real high light, especially on Fridays! Consistently at a very high level for years. The ambience is also nice with the high ceiling and large windows. What has unfortunately been very negative for some time now is that the staff as a whole is very unmotivated and not attentive. The very nice waiter who served me today was a positive exception for a long time. Hope things get better again. Still a nice place in Munich

If it wasn't in the middle of Munich, it would be nice. Not well organized. I haven't had to wait in line at the cloakroom for ages. Food is good, staff friendly. Parking is a disaster. Only a parking garage around the corner with the usual Munich fantasy prices. For what it costs to park, I can pay for dinner elsewhere. But for those who like it, it's the greatest thing...

Lunch menu is not bad, the dishes are mostly good. But quite expensive in my opinion. Unfortunately the service is very volatile.

Very well eaten, very stylishly decorated, quiet and an attentive waiter who even allowed us to try two open wines before ordering. We had beetroot balls (warm) on spinach salad with carrot hummus, which was super fresh, not spoiled by garlic, with walnut kernels, wonderful! Then corn-fed chicken breast on mushrooms with dark jus, perfect and hot. Price and performance are in a very good ratio, nice selection for every taste and great ambience. The only thing that bothered me a little was the alphabet band, which displayed words vertically on a digital bar and always irritated me. Otherwise surprisingly good!

I had onion soup au gratin and cabillaud with fennel: it was very good. Our waiter was friendly and as you say, “always trying hard” but unfortunately he didn’t know how the dishes were prepared... The restaurant has, thanks its high ceilings, a great atmosphere. It's nice to stay there.

We were large table but looked after very well. The food was excellent and nice selection of wines too.

The space and building are nice, the service is ok and the food, well, rather mediocre. But the main thing is that there are Huitres. Then the place must be great... I'm definitely not coming back.

Nice location, good music! Unfortunately the service was extremely unfriendly. After consuming food and drinks for the first time, we were pressured to order something more. After explaining that we needed a short break and would order something later, the waiter became so passive aggressive, muttered to himself "just go away" and when we then ordered more food and drinks, our order was initially held for half an hour forgotten and only entered when asked repeatedly. The orders were then passively aggressively placed on the table.

Wit haven't been there for a long time. The atmosphere is nice as always, lots of friendly guests. But unfortunately the food disappointed us very much. Too bad!

Four of us were here on a Sunday morning. The food was good. Classic, what you imagine for breakfast. Eggs Benedict, muesli, also coffee and cake. Unfortunately the service was a disaster. The general mood was bad from the start. No friendly words, rushed even though there was hardly anything going on. No proactivity and when we did get in touch, it took quite a long time. One of the Eggs Benedict was completely done. This was taken away and exchanged without a word. No friendly words here either, just pure annoyance. At the end we would even be asked for feedback on the service (probably based on the tip). Instead of dealing with it, the waitress turned around and left without a word. Unfortunately, this really doesn't create a feel-good atmosphere.

Didn't eat but got beer 🍻🍺 really good

It's been a long time since we've been to the Oskar Maria again, but this time it was the last time. The 2nd star above goes to the wine selection, which was high quality. My Pinsa Romana ‘with buffalo mozzarella’ contained 0% buffalo mozzarella. When I asked, I was told that every mozzarella was buffalo mozzarella (oh yeah?). When the instruction hit me, I ran into the kitchen without a word and instead of complying with my wish to take the Pinsa back and got an actual buffalo mozzarella - which I was apparently supposed to spread on the already thick layer of pizza cheese from the industrial bag. This shouldn't happen in this price range - and you might now ask yourself whether every cow is called Black Angus or whether at least the burger is of high quality
