Schnitzel was very good 👍 with fried potatoes and a small mixed salad. Although I'm not a fan of "green stuff" I liked it.

Nice evening at the Gasthaus Ludwig! My wife and I had a wonderful evening at the Gasthaus Ludwig. The food was good, especially the heart that my wife ordered was surprisingly tasty. The service was simply fantastic. Tom was very friendly, quick and funny, and you could tell he was passionate about his job. After our visit to the Philharmonic, we stopped by again to end the evening with a drink. We can only recommend the Gasthaus Ludwig and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We were here for dinner on Saturday February 8th before our concert. And what can I say? Was great. The two waitresses are in a really good mood. We were really warmly welcomed and served. The food was great. We really had fun. That definitely won't be the last time we're there. Keep it up. Thumbs up 👍👍👍

Welcome very unfriendly. There were 5 of us there without a reservation. After a lot of back and forth we got a place. The next waiter was friendly, but unfortunately had no idea what was on the additional menu. The mock knuckle with dumplings and sauce was apparently from the day before. Schnitzel Viennese style with fried potatoes...Schnitzel was warmed up, fried potatoes were burnt. Williams pear was at least very good.

The staff in the evening was great, very warm and attentive even at a very late hour. We only had a drink but the menu reads well, lots of offal dishes! Thank you for the lovely evening, we would love to come back.

I advise everyone NOT to visit this place. The waiters are incredibly impolite, arrogant and unfriendly. Bad service and bad atmosphere. Never coming back to this place.

I never experienced something so rude like the behavior of the waiter… i don’t understand why is someone working as a waiter with this social skills . I heard stories and experienced that how rude he is with the GUESTS, but tonight he crossed all the borders (by the way i already wanted to go somewhere else only because of this guy , but my friends went to this place after a concert so i joined them). Never again!

The waitress couldn't serve drinks AND food at the same time, trout was out and there were no more pretzels, when it came to the "salad with fried chicken", the fried chicken was unfortunately just a breaded chicken schnitzel, the "salad with goat cheese and figs" was served without figs without comment, because (when asked in the kitchen) the figs were gone and a bread basket for €2.50, in which practically a thin slice of bread was divided into 6 pieces. Nice that to compensate for the missing figs, the bread basket (also without comment) was no longer charged! But unfortunately the nice location can't really save me. Sorry: you're welcome to have a drink, but unfortunately the food wasn't a good thing. If you don't improve your situation a lot, I'll have a really bad time! What a shame for a location right next to the Isarphilharmonie!

The waitress (an older gentleman) was really strange to us (last night). Comes with jokes that aren't funny at all. Just weird!

We were welcomed very nicely and had a great evening, the waiter with a beard was very nice and attentive :)) Unfortunately, a gentleman at the bar came across as a bit incompetent and unfriendly

Great decor, very cozy atmosphere. The staff is quick and friendly, the food was okay. I personally wouldn't describe the currywurst with wedges and 1 dip that I ordered as such. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't currywurst for me. Unfortunately, the expected wedges were just potato wedges ala baked potatoes, and the dip was missing. Nevertheless, you can eat well here and last a long time!

In itself a nice inn with special furnishings and a pleasant lighting concept. There were 6 of us here. Drinks and soups were enjoyable. However, some of the main courses couldn't be eaten at all. Especially the cream mushrooms with dumplings, the roast pork and the salad with salmon and rösti. The dumplings were jelly-like inside and the sauces (including salad dressing) had a strange taste. Sometimes too watery, sometimes the taste of flour. The waiter was friendly, but didn't ask any questions even when the plates were still almost full. Overall, there were too few waiters for too many guests.

Lovely Wirtshaus with lovely, lovely staff. Arrived late with a big group of friends and we were received with nothing but friendliness and love. Tom was an incredible host to us, great chap! Drinks were nice and cold, music and ambience were great. Would recommend 10/10.

Very cool location right next to the Philharmonic with exceptionally great food. One organ plate please 😂. Heart, lungs, liver and spleen and a pilsner :-). Of course also normal food and delicious Teggernseer. But this pub lives from its waitress “Tom”. What a hot hoot, always cool and with a cool saying on his lips. We'll be back, just because of you. Good food for a fair price, nice service

It's getting more and more ugly.

Every now and then we come to a regular get-together and are always satisfied: It is comfortably furnished, the staff is relaxed and the prices are fair. There are regional classics that always taste good and are beautifully prepared. There's nothing wrong with Ludwig's.

Even though there were absences due to illness, we received excellent service. Gladly again.

At Ludwig we feel at home. The entire staff is not only friendly but also courteous. A new highlight every week when we are allowed to be there again.

Would like to give no stars for tonight! At first we weren't welcomed because we were standing in the entrance and no one came, then I went in and asked... we were then allowed to sit out. The asparagus dish that 2 of us wanted to order was out of Hollandaise sauce - we were told by the service... 🤔 We thought it was strange, but the main ingredients, egg and oil, are good. I then ordered a sausage salad and the bread was old, the dressing was missing from the side salad (which came after pointing it out twice!!!) when my friend wanted to order a small portion of cheese pätzle and this was refused and the waiter just said very cheekily; IF YOU'RE NOT HUNGRY SHOULDN'T ORDER ANYTHING. I just thought that it was very grumpy but good. The icing on the cake was that she hadn't done everything and wanted to take it with her and he said he didn't have any packaging at the moment!!!!! 🤬😤 is it still possible?!? No Go!!!!!! Apparently they don't need friendliness or decency because of the good location to the Isarphilharmonie. They certainly won't see us there anymore...

The owner kept the kitchen warm especially for us! We as a choir were warmly welcomed and warmly looked after. All in all a great evening!

We were warmly welcomed and given a seat. The waitress was very polite. The process from ordering to receiving the food was very pleasant, everyone received their food at the same time. We felt comfortable and can definitely recommend it.

I liked the place when it was still called Self-Bar. Host Rene is a likeable Munich unique, someone who never gets bored or rests. He always has new plans & is an important, hard-working part of the Munich community. The previous house parties in the new Ludig's were always lively, charming & special. The food is home-style, tasty and affordable. The beer & wine offer is correct. The service is attentive & friendly. Gladly again!

We each ate an evening meal here and ordered a drink. Our food came quicker than our drink, for which the waiter apologized and wanted to buy us a round of schnapps. The drinks were great. The food was a sufficient portion, for which the price is very generous. The prices are higher in Munich, but it didn't quite live up to the price. The waiter who paid us smoked at the same time and we didn't get our schnapps either.

Were here for New Year's Eve dinner on December 31st, 2023 and are totally impressed. Everything was out and the menu was nothing. As Dogiback ham ma a nima griagt. And we didn't understand anything. Thanks mia, that's enough.

We were served very friendly and courteously. A complaint was accepted immediately and the replacement, like all the other dishes, tasted very good!

Were there after the concert. The location looks really fun and we quickly got a table for two. Drinks arrived quickly and the order was taken. The food was disappointing, the cream mushrooms were swimming in a soup in which a few mushroom slices could be seen, the portion was also too small for the price. My side salad was completely forgotten. The service tried hard but was probably a bit overwhelmed by the rush. It's a shame, because with the great location to HP8 they could really do a business, so we were definitely there for the first and last time.

It's a shame, but the food was really bad, all three dishes at our table were bad - even the fries were so bad, that's not possible.

Discrimination, not a safe place. After a concert at HP8 we wanted to have something to eat and drink. It was already 10 p.m. and we were happy when we came in that we were told that we could still eat something. After an unpleasant experience, we were happy to be able to relax in a comfortable place. The waiter was friendly at first and gave us a nice seat in the upper part of the restaurant. We sat down and wanted to order, the atmosphere seemed friendly. I asked the waiter if there was anything vegan and the mood changed in a thousandth of a second. The waiter immediately became rude and attacked me as a matter of course: “Well, there's definitely nothing vegan here, we're a pub!” - simply left our table and let us sit. My companion said that she would like to order something else and then it came back redeemed. I asked him why he treated me like that and from then on there was just pure silence. I asked him if he was aware that he was discriminating against me here and my companion said that I eat vegan for health reasons. Which actually doesn't matter. It's my business what I eat. I'm a completely normal guest. The waiter could have offered me a normal salad, but instead he discriminated against me. This place is not a safe place! This is a place that discriminates against you and the mood suddenly changes and friends become enemies. We left the restaurant without ordering. Suddenly there was no trace of the waiter. Yesterdays should just stay in yesterday - I'll never come to this shop again. Not a cent from me. Ciao 🎷🤡

It was very nice and cozy, especially before and after the concert. Just know that you should make a reservation. We'd love to come back, our birthday has already been reserved See you soon, look forward to it :)

Great food, reasonable prices, great staff

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere.

Overall, the food was really good, nothing exceptional but solid. Service nice, fast and courteous. Also in terms of customer service, as unfortunately something went wrong with an order - it can happen, what is important here is how it is handled and that was great in this case! You can definitely stop by here more often.

Portions much, much too small, despite complaints to the cook, who is also the boss, no accommodation. He didn't care what the customer wanted. For 12€ cheese spaetzle and then just a handful??? Ridiculous and rip off. Luckily the waiter was understanding, but couldn't do anything against the boss. The food was simply bad. IF YOU DEAL WITH GUESTS THAT WAY YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SURPRISED IF THE GUEST STAY AWAY.

Unter dem Personalmangel kämpfen viele, geschenkt dass es mit der Bedienung etwas hakelig lief. Von den ganzen 5 Hauptspeisen gab es noch 3 und von 2 Desserts eines. Für ein traditionelles Münchner Wirtshaus (was es sein will) waren zudem ein paar Einrichtungsgegenstände ziemlich verstörend. Nach LGBTQ-freundlich kommt Hetero-feindlich?

Ein richtig schönes Wirtshaus mit gut bürgerlichen Speisen zu vernünftigen Preisen 👍Kann man voll und ganz weiterempfehlen 😊

Der Service war schnell und freundlich. Unsere Suppen waren beide hervorragend, die Hauptspeisen leider eher unterdurchschnittlich. Kässpatzn recht geschmacksneutral, Nudeln weichgekocht. Preislich total im Rahmen.

Das Essen war preiswert, gut und in reichlichen Portionen. Das Lokal selbst ist schön und gemütlich. Leider hatten wir wohl ein wenig einen "Ausverkauf-Tag" erwischt, denn es gab 1 Hauptgericht und 1 Dessert von der Karte gar nicht mehr und 1 Dessert nur noch 4 x(wir waren zu 7.). ABER: Das hat der wirklich humorvolle und extrem serviceorientierte Kellner Tom absolut wett gemacht. Selten so gelacht und so freundlich behandelt worden. Hier hat man sich gefühlt, als wäre man schon 100 Mal da gewesen. Wir kommen sicher wieder und dann klappt es bestimmt auch mit dem Angebot aus der Karte.

Super smarter Service, aber die Currywurst/ Pommes waren grässlich. Das war eine Bratwurst mit Pommes und alles mit einer fiesen Tomatensauce übergossen. Ich hatte Hunger aber Currywurst/ Pommes kenne ich anders. Schade.

Ich war zum dritten mal in diesem Lokal. Das Essen schmeckt gut aber ich finde die Portionen für das Geld viel zu wenig, man wird nicht satt. Das letzte Mal habe ich Rinderroulade bestellt. Es kam eine kleine Rinderroulade mit etwas Blaukraut und Salzkartoffeln. Für 18,50€ finde ich das viel zu teuer !!

alles top. Dass es in Bayern keine Seniorenteller gibt, muss man halt wissen. Die Antwort: Döss schaffst du scho. ;-)

Freundlicher Service. Essen ok, wobei Mittagsmenue nicht 8,90€, sondern 9,80€ kostet. Relativ eng, wenn alles besetzt ist, Oberrang war bei unserem Besuch gesperrt.

Ein gemütliches Münchner Wirtshaus mit einem außergewöhnlichen gastraum. Sehr gutes Essen und sehr netter Service. Auch nach dem Besuch eines Konzerts im Gasteig HP8 noch geöffnet, dann solle man allerdings reservieren, da es dann voll werden kann.

Das beste Lüngerl seit langem und dazu super netter Service

Leider hat uns das Essen überhaupt nicht überzeugt. Wir hatten eine Salatbowl bestellt mit Knödel Carpacchio. Die Knödel waren unter dem Salat und somit komplett durchgeweicht. Der Salat selber war wenig, nicht knackig und das Dressing war auch nicht der Hit. Sehr toll war der Service.

Der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war für uns gut. Trotz der relativ kleinen Flächen hat der Wirt ein gemütliches Restaurant geschaffen. Wir würden wiederkommen, so wir in der Gegend sein sollten.

Sehr gemütliches Wirtshaus, super-freundliche Bedienung, gutes und für Münchner Verhältnisse sehr günstiges Essen. Da waren wir sicher nicht zum letzten Mal! Macht weiter so!

I was lost, mobile battery dead and needed to get back to hotel. Was offered to recharge my phone and had very nice salad and drinks. Was so tired from all the walking, and I stayed although mobile was fully charged already. Thank you for your kindess and being helpful. Michelle - Cape Town, SA.

Wir waren aus Baden dort und wurden positiv überrascht , das Essen schmeckte super und für den Preis absolut perfekt. Sehr nettes Personal. Wenn wir wieder mal in der nähe sind würden wir erneut dahin gehen. Grüße aus Freiburg.

Nettes kleines Lokal, gutes Essen und nette Bedienungen.

Auf der Speisekarte ist genau soviel drauf, dass jeder etwas für seinen Geschmack finden müsste. Wir hatten einen zarten, gut gewürzten Schweinebraten und eine äußerst schmackhafte Fischsuppe, in der wirklich Fisch, war und nicht Meeresfrüchte. LECKER! Die Bedienung war fix und fröhlich - und das wirkte sich auf den ganzen Laden aus. Wie schön! Die Luft im Lokal gut und frisch. Ideal, um vor dem Konzert in der Philharmonie zu Abend zu essen.
