Old Western in Rostock

Definitely not cheap, but definitely worth the price! Very good quality meat (here, beef fillet), cooked perfectly to your liking (here, rare). The meat is very tender, and the side dishes are delicious, although there's an additional charge. Plus, top-notch service and a great atmosphere! We'll definitely be back next time we're in Rostock.

Unfortunately, our visit to the Old Western was very disappointing. First of all, you can't make online reservations for groups of 8 or more. I honestly spent 45 minutes trying to reach someone on the phone (on hold). When we arrived, we were greeted warmly. The service was smooth. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food. Cold burgers, spare ribs with no seasoning, and not particularly tender. A shame. The prices are a bit overpriced, especially when you sometimes have to order side dishes separately. A strange concept. All in all, we wouldn't go there again.

We had spare ribs, and they were fantastic. Both the BBQ ribs and the Old Western ribs. Awesome. The meat was as tender as butter and practically fell off the bone. It was excellently seasoned, and thankfully, there was no nasty, artificial smoke flavor. The service deserves an A+... Very warm, courteous, friendly, and above all, competent staff. We reserved a table online at 7:10 p.m. for 7:45 p.m. We listed the occasion as an anniversary for our son and his girlfriend. We arrived 10 minutes early, and the table was beautifully decorated with a candle and glass and wooden hearts. And the staff and the food were fantastic.

This was actually our regular restaurant in Rostock, but we discovered that the owner had changed hands. The service was very friendly, but communication with the kitchen was noticeably lacking. We asked for our fries on our plates, not in the mini baskets that have recently been introduced. Our food arrived, and we could see our fries in them...right in the basket. I'm not concerned about the basket, but the portion size is noticeably smaller, which is like a back-door price increase. We didn't finish eating either. It's a shame, it was a very nice restaurant and we always recommended it, but this was probably our last visit there. It's a shame about the really nice, polite, and very helpful waiters.

As "spontaneous" guests looking for a delicious piece of meat, we found what we were looking for here. We were shown to a table directly opposite the bar with the warning that the food would take a while. The friendly waitress came quickly and took our drink order. The drinks arrived promptly and were well chilled. We then ordered our meals right away. During that time, the restaurant emptied a bit, so we could have sat somewhere else if we had wanted to. But we decided against it. The wait was absolutely fine considering the restaurant was so full. The food was truly amazing. We've rarely eaten such good steaks and side dishes. The meat was cooked to perfection, the vegetables were deliciously seasoned and crisp to the bite. The service was attentive and prompt with the drinks. We're happy to give everything 5* and thank you for the delicious food.

What happened there? The glasses were cloudy with streaks. You hardly wanted to drink from them. And the food, unfortunately, wasn't what it used to be. The meat was dry, rather crispy... Only the waiter deserves five stars! The manager seems to have changed, but the Old West is a shame.

Firstly, we had to wait over an hour for our food. There were only 2 burgers and 1 steak. That waiting time is unreasonable for a small child. The steak was more well-done than medium and dry as a biscuit. The baked potato was just a jacket potato with weak sour cream. The kids' burger was much too rich and unwieldy. The tomato on top was thicker than the meat. I was also more than disappointed with the salad bar. For these prices, I expect more, but above all better quality and not soggy cucumbers and tomatoes. Above all, everything was chopped unevenly and did not look very appealing. You can do that CHEAPER and BETTER at home. The BBQ burger had no flavor and the bacon was too hard and dry and not nice and crispy. Coming from a restaurant background, or rather, having a family background, I know that it doesn't have to be this way, no matter how many guests there are or how stressed you are. It was the first time I didn't tip. It's a shame, but never again.

We first visited the Old Western after the change of management. Unfortunately, this will also be our last visit. The prices no longer reflect the quality. The dishes are poorly presented: steak, sliced ​​cucumber, and frozen herb butter. Everything has to be ordered separately. The quality of the meat is okay, but it doesn't justify the prices. The server was very introverted and a bit confused. Not a great experience for us. I'll get a decent piece of meat and put it on the grill, along with a cold beer, and save at least €100.

The ribs I tried on my last visit were tasty, but a bit too dry for my personal taste. Despite a few minor flaws, the restaurant is always worth a visit – I'd happily go back!

One of my worst restaurant experiences, if not the worst. - The staff was surprisingly unfriendly and at times even insulting. - The menu included a burger with brioche bread, which they refused to serve. - When I asked if there were any spicy dishes, they claimed the chili was spicy. It definitely wasn't. - I ordered a burger with mayo, but the mayo had the consistency of spreadable cheese instead of a regular sauce. - The burger itself was completely soggy and fell apart immediately. Considering it's a steakhouse, the first steak, ordered medium, was unfortunately overcooked and tough. After complaining, we received a juicy medium-rare steak after 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the side dishes were already cold or eaten by then. So, unfortunately, we can't give it a better rating, even though the service was good.

Highly recommended. Kind staff, clean, stylish place, good location, they have english menu as well. The cooking time is slow but worth the time.

Das Essen haben wir alle nicht gut vertragen, wir hatten danach Durchfall. Die Toiletten waren sauber, die Tische auch. Wir wollten gern noch eine Nachspeise bestellen, das wurde uns verwehrt, da der Tisch für andere Gäste reserviert ist, meinte die Kellnerin. Sehr unverschämt. Wie lange ein Tisch reserviert ist, darauf sollte am Telefon hingewiesen werden, aber nur Kasse machen, mit schlecht verträglichen Speisen.

It's been a long time since I've had such a good schnitzel. The other food at our table also tasted fantastic. The children were treated very lovingly and the table was set in advance with children's cards and children's cutlery. The service was really great, the waiters are still from the old school.

One star is still too many. After making a reservation by phone and asking about the availability of asparagus, the menu was confirmed and even reserved. 1.5 hours later we were there on time for our reservation. The waiter greeted us friendly and showed us to our table. Meanwhile he also asked us if we would be guests for the asparagus meal. When we said yes, the extremely friendly waiter informed us that it was now sold out.👌🏻 But no problem. 200m further there is a Block House which was fully booked, but made a table available especially for us. Lo and behold, not only did they have an abundance of asparagus, but it was also perfect. Conclusion: it should be like this, who knows what the food in the Old Western would have tasted like.

I think things have slowed down a lot there! I paid €40 for a carelessly prepared plate of “Surf & Turf”. No decoration/no lettuce leaves, no pepper shaker for the steak, no herb butter. Everything just slapped up. The plates look very old and worn. As we all know, your eyes eat with you...?! I thought charging 10 euros for an Aperol Sprizz was borderline... The service was also nicer and more attentive, we didn't even ask if everything was OK or if we needed anything else. I expect a lot more for the money!

Nice western restaurant in the center of Rostock. You can take a look at Lange Straße from the window. The restaurant extends over two floors and is relatively simple, but overall quite cozy. A little more western flair would be good for the location. From the entrance to the table, the entire service staff was attentive, friendly, helpful and competent, high praise for that. We waited about 30 minutes for the food. The taste is really excellent. Large portions, perfectly prepared and at a good temperature. Small changes were possible and the staff were happy to implement them. A big recommendation for this place. All around a very successful experience for anyone looking for delicious and authentic American food.
