Unfortunately, average food at best. We were there several times (mostly involuntarily with friends). The food is nothing special, not well prepared, just average. The prices, on the other hand, are above average and absolutely not justified. The service, on the other hand, is great, unfortunately the positive first impression was not confirmed by the food at all.

Went there for the second time, tested a total of 4 different main dishes and 3 starters and can say with disappointment that around 90% of the dishes had to be frozen. We are absolutely sure, especially when it comes to burger patties, most sauces, mozzarella sticks and potato wedges. However, the prices are absolutely outrageous and sometimes even more expensive than much better (although also very expensive) restaurants such as Blockhouse. I really felt like I was going back to my student days full of cheap frozen food here and unfortunately I regret at least 2/3 of the money I left here. There is NO way a rating of 4.6 is justified here!

We are at the Baltic Sea every year at the turn of the year and have often had our sights set on this restaurant. This year we visited the Old Western and after reading all the reviews we had high expectations. We were warmly welcomed and given a nice table. My wife ordered a fillet steak medium with French fries and I ordered a sirloin steak medium with potatoes and sour cream. The fillet steak was rather well done and the French fries were too short in the deep fryer and therefore rather "medium". It would be better the other way around. My sirloin steak was also rather well done and the potato was in the oven for too long and was therefore sometimes very dry. The sour cream was completely lost in the very small potato. The quality of the meat suffered greatly because the grilling process took too long. In addition, the eye eats with us, but unfortunately the plates were not as well prepared as they were pictured on the internet. We're much more used to it. The plates also look very old and worn. A house that sets very high standards for itself should at least provide good tableware for its guests. At least when you ask prices like that. My complaint was received warmly and I hope it helps to improve the quality. Unfortunately our expectations were not met. Maybe we were unlucky, but we won't visit this restaurant again.

Perfectly cooked steak, the food is simple, nothing complicated but it works, so good! They also have the friendliest staff from all the restaurants we went to while we were there. So if you are in Rostock and want steak, this is the place to go, if we not were going home tomorrow we would have gone back for a second time.

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner at the Old Western. The service was friendly and very attentive. We felt wonderfully looked after and welcome. The meat dishes were cooked to perfection and very tasty. A special highlight was the crème brulee for dessert. Delicious! We had a wonderful evening and would love to come back.

When we got the food, the cellar came back after about 20 minutes and said we had to finish slowly because the table was already reserved for the next guests. My girlfriend wanted to finish eating in peace, but that wasn't possible. I am very dissatisfied with the service.

The food is very good. The service upstairs took the cake. When I asked repeatedly whether I could pay, there was no response. The third time (after 25 minutes) I got the answer, I don't have time. After another 10 minutes, the waiter stood at the cash register and waved to me several times. When I went to him I was told, now you can pay. Very very unprofessional. Too bad otherwise recommended.

I strongly doubt that everything is freshly prepared. Especially when you looked at the crispy chicken brürger you could see that the meat was ready and out of the bag. I don't even get started on the fries (a bag). For a restaurant in the city center of Rostock, I expect freshly prepared food, hand made from A-Z and not eating a bag.

The old West is simply amazing from the reception to the dessert, everything is perfect. Rarely have I had such a nice steak. The service was excellent we had the young man named Marc. I can only recommend this, we were just there yesterday and would come back again and again and let us be pampered with culinary delights.

The Old Western has been my favorite restaurant in Rostock for many years. Friendly welcome from the boss, attentive fast staff and delicious food. We usually eat steak, but this time half duck was also very good. The prices are on the higher end, but the meat is of high quality. A glass of red wine for 8 - 9 euros is quite expensive, but it is now almost normal in Germany. There's a little surprise for your birthday...

The sirloin steak and sweet potato fries were very good. The steak sauce is awesome if you like it. Only the dessert “Hot cinnamon plums in red wine sauce” wasn't quite great. The ice cream was too hard and therefore didn't go well with it. Otherwise everything was great

You wouldn't go to a hen party with these dishes. Otherwise good.

The service was too forthcoming and attentive. You spare ribs, well, dried out, kept warm for a long time and without sophistication. The truffle puree was over the point, Because the starch from the potato had already come out. It's a shame a simple paste. Maybe it will work next time, with the quality of the cuisine.

We (12 people) had lunch at the Old Western on November 24th, 2024, were warmly welcomed and looked after excellently by the two younger gentlemen on the upper floor. The food was very tasty and the service was really great. We'd love to come back.

Our first visit was wonderful. Delicious burgers and great service. The waitress with dark pink hair was very nice and polite, I think it was Laura. Thanks to her we have very fond memories of visiting the Old Western. We will definitely come back to try more dishes!

We have been coming here for at least a decade, if not longer. We visited the Old Western before its renovation and expansion and continued to visit afterwards. For us, the quality of the dishes we tried over time was only exceeded by the warmth and competence of the staff. For us, who come from the catering and hotel industry, these are important characteristics. Which are not always easy to fulfill in some situations. With this knowledge, it is even more remarkable what performance all employees (service, kitchen, etc.) achieve every day. Ich hatte das Vergnügen, im Old Western in Rostock zu speisen, und ich kann nur Positives berichten. Bereits bei der Reservierung wurde viel Wert darauf gelegt, die Gäste kennenzulernen und ihre Wünsche zu erfragen, was ich als sehr angenehm empfand. Wir kamen 30 Minuten vor unserer reservierten Zeit an, was für das Restaurant kein Problem darstellte. Die Bedienung war äußerst aufmerksam und gab uns hervorragende Empfehlungen. Das Personal war stets in unserer Nähe und fragte regelmäßig nach, ob wir uns wohlfühlten oder ob etwas fehlte. Diese Fürsorge trug maßgeblich zu unserem Wohlbefinden bei. Das Essen war einfach spitze! Die Portionen waren großzügig und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmte meiner Meinung nach ebenfalls. Ich kann das Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen und werde definitiv wiederkommen.

Without exaggerating, but that's what I would call a model restaurant that some people can learn a lesson from. Firstly, the food was extremely tasty and secondly, the service from the staff was extremely polite! This time we were not in luck, as we entered we were evaluated from top to bottom when we started speaking Portuguese, the Fazio restaurant but we were informed that everything was booked, after a lot of conversation we were literally placed at the bathroom door, we ordered souls, things and drinks, We had to call the waitress two or three times to ask for more things, we've been to this place a few times and hadn't experienced anything like that, but despite everything it was nice, good price, good food.

The service was very nice! I had a crispy chicken burger that was okay and there were fries that were delicious. There is also a lunch menu which changes every week. What I don't think is so nice are the plates where the gold rim is almost gone! Ambience is quite nice!

Been here since 8 years ago. Today the service was not satisfactory and the whole atmosphere has lost its charm unfortunately, always liked the place but now it went down a lot.

The burgers are all frozen, the dishes are carelessly fried together. Came back here after years and was disappointed. Not better than a snack bar, but prices that others would expect. We spent €70 for two burgers and two beers!

Sehr gute Fleischqualität, gute Beilagen, die aber extra dazu bestellt werden müssen. Preise sind trotzdem ok. Sehr freundliches, aufmerksames Personal. Reservierung empfehlenswert.

When I got to the end of my steak, I wanted to cry because it was so delicious. Very big compliment. The waiters are extremely friendly and the ambience is perfect.

Quite appropriate for special occasions. Ambiance is nice and well maintained. Service top, experienced and friendly. The food is delicious and there is something for all tastes and budgets. Here and there a freely combinable main course can quickly cost 50-60 euros, but you know that beforehand. We have been coming back for years and would love to come back. A wonderfully beautiful restaurant I would recommend it, the service was really good and it didn't take too long The only thing they don't know about the cooking stuff is that my wife had to put her meat back in the kitchen three times And mine was English fried, it was really a matter of taste for me and it was still okay..... But given the high standard, the kitchen has to have that... The starter was really good and damn tasty But that's what it was for if it was free, I found it a mess... Packing is a matter of luck as there are no dedicated packing areas

We were in the restaurant for a birthday and received a specially decorated table and a personal/warm welcome and service. At the end there was a piece of cake with candles for the birthday child. Also a noteworthy service. The price for a 3-course menu is around €50 per person. All around a great restaurant that is worth the little extra money.

The food is good. The beer is questionable. Please do not offer any local beer. Nobody drinks this stuff from northern Germany anymore. Offer more light beer from Bavaria. No hefeweizen. And please adjust the online prices. The menu in the restaurant has completely different prices than online.
