The BEST Indian food we've had in ages, and we eat there weekly, all over the world. Super friendly people, a great atmosphere, but above all, super delicious, authentic food. I highly recommend Dal Makhani; you should definitely try the super delicious naan and the BEST Ras Malai I've ever eaten! The Punjabi Lassi was also amazing. We live 60 minutes away, but we'll definitely be back. Shukria!

Good restaurant near Paradeplatz. One of the best restaurant in Mannheim and consistency is the issue. One out of four times get you disappointed. Tried today Butter naan and mix veg curry. Taste was good though it was drier than expected. Request owner on consistency as google reviews clearly indicate the same.

Hi All, I visited for dinner on 14th Aug 2025 and had worst food ever in my total restaurant experiences in Germany. I was a regular visitor for this restaurant till 2022(for 4 years), and used to recommend to many friends and colleagues. Again after 3 years, I thought to eat in my fav restaurant and ended up with pathetic dinner. My whole family including kids had worst food ever with the increased prices and less quantity, and they accept only cash. We ordered Chicken Tandoori which was served almost like Cold chicken, and Kadai chicken was served as Chinese chicken soup with no taste and gravy, complimentary rice was served cold, Butter naan was served without slicing. A pathetic and tasteless food ever in Germany, I have been to Indian restaurants all across Europe and never felt like this.

In my opinion, this is the best Indian restaurant in Mannheim! The food is delicious, but may be too spicy for some Central Europeans. There are many vegetarian and vegan dishes available.

Worst Indian food I ever had in Europe. The chef doesnt seem to be interested to prepare atleast as per the photo that has been put in the Menu. Atleast they should have the audacity to say that they cannot make that curry. Absolute disappointment. Sharing the mushroom tikka masala curry that I ordered. Never seen mushroom tikka on a hot plate+ curry separate. Not worth visiting this place

This was by far the worst Indian food experience we have ever had in Europe. The food tasted absolutely pathetic – bland, poorly prepared, and completely lacking the authentic Indian flavors. We specifically asked for our dishes to be made a little spicy, but they arrived without even a hint of spice. To make matters worse, after eating here we suffered from diarrhoea, which raises serious concerns about the hygiene and quality of the food being served. We travel extensively and try Indian restaurants across Europe, but this was neither authentic Indian food nor decent European-standard cuisine. The quality is extremely poor, and the staff’s attitude makes it even worse. The waitress showed no warmth, hospitality, or basic courtesy that you would expect, especially from an establishment claiming to serve Indian food. Overall, this place is a disgrace to Indian cuisine and a waste of time and money. We will never return and strongly advise others to avoid it.

Had Paneer Saag, Baingen Bharta, Naan and Jeera Chaas. Lovely food for decent price and friendly service. Would recommend it.

Disappointing experience – not recommended There were three of us in the restaurant, including a small child. When we asked for a high chair, one was provided, but very rudely and unfriendly – not a good start. The food was average at best, with nothing special in terms of taste. The ambiance was also uninviting. We were particularly struck by the fact that the electrical installations appeared to have been improperly carried out – this not only appears unprofessional, but also potentially dangerous. The service also left a lot to be desired: When paying, there was no "thank you" or smile – instead, the change was thrown down without a word, and the waiter disappeared. Furthermore, they only accept cash, which is hardly acceptable these days. Overall, a disappointing visit – we definitely won't be back.

We've been to this restaurant several times and have been satisfied every time. The food is delicious and of good quality. It's also good value for money. Since the restaurant is rather small and always busy, we definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys authentic Indian cuisine!

Absolutely delicious! The food here is really good, whether spicy or mild, savory or even sweet. A large selection with or without meat, some even vegan. The tables are a bit small for the food (one plate, one rice bowl, one plate/container with a dish per person – plus drinks), but you'll have to squeeze together. And yes, payment is cash only.

Delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at absolutely fair prices. Vegetarian and meat dishes are excellent. There are two or three smaller tables outside, but larger groups can sit inside.

This restaurant (fast food restaurant, snack bar)... a great little restaurant for Indian cuisine, is one of the BEST restaurants for Indian cuisine in southwest Germany!!! It's great that YOU exist. We drove the 1.5 hours from the Luxembourg border because we wanted a proper, truly delicious meal. There are six seats in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk; on warm days, you should call ahead to reserve. Inside, there are more than 26 seats, and the great food makes it worth the wait. The value for money is excellent. We'd love to come back. Keep up the good work... 🤗

The food was really bad. we ordered Paneer dish and a chicken dish. Chicken tasted stale and the gravy was ridiculously salty. The paneer dish tasted awful, how can they wreck a paneer dish? The reviews seemed decent and convincing so we went, but it was such a disappointing experience.

Super delicious food at fair prices. Especially the chat! The paneer dishes were rather bland. Unfortunately, the service has been in such a bad mood for about a month that it's become rather unpleasant to eat here. They refuse to serve tap water, even though three people are eating for €30 per person... After three bad experiences, I won't be coming back.

A large selection of dishes from various Indian regions. I had the chicken wraps from the street food section... 02. on the menu... and was pleasantly surprised by the quantity... there were three wraps on my plate. The €13.90 price tag is absolutely reasonable. And it was delicious, too... the chicken was really deliciously marinated and tender. The yogurt and mint dip was my favorite. They kindly packed half of the giant portion for me to take home.

I went with my family for the first time. My motivation to go to this restaurant was the high ratings. Quite disappointed. First they gave complementary papads with few chutneys. The papads were smelling bad, and the chutneys were spoiled. The main dishes came. Since the papads were served in small plates, we requested for other plates. The waiter rudely said to eat in the same plates. We did tell them that the plates were very small to fit the rotis and sides, the waiter again said that other people in the restaurant are eating with small plates and what’s wrong with us? we ordered tadka dal, we got just boiled dal with salt and no tadka. The butter paneer masala was sweet though we requested to make it spicy. The rotis were thick. They gave complementary rice. Luckily there was pickles, so we used with rice. The quantity were very less for the price. The last gem was we needed to pay with card, but they only take cash. Just avoid this restaurant and don’t get fooled by the high ratings. Once I went home, I called the restaurant owner and explained the owner about the waitress behaviour, the owner started abusing bad words in Hindi. So please avoid this restaurant.

Food is amazing but didnt like the plates and the fact that they dont accept payment by cards. So ensure you have cash at your hand. Also food is bit on the spicier side. I liked it but some may not prefer the levels

Disappointing Experience – Great Food, But Poor Payment Handling and Embarrassing Service I visited this restaurant recently and initially had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, and I genuinely enjoyed chatting with the owner and his wife, especially after discovering that they were also from Punjab — the same place where I was born and raised. It felt like a warm and personal connection. However, the entire experience took a sharp turn when it was time to pay. I asked to pay via Apple Pay, which I always use and have never had an issue with, even while traveling extensively. To my surprise, I was told they only accept cash, something that was never mentioned when I entered — no signs, no verbal notice, nothing. When I asked for alternative options, such as bank transfer, PayPal, or even UPI from India, their attitude completely changed. The owner, who was friendly moments ago, suddenly became distant and refused to even look at me. One of the waitresses insisted I walk to an ATM, even though I had no cash and my hotel was nearly 2 km away. In an extremely awkward and embarrassing moment, one of the young ladies generously offered to pay my bill and insisted I could leave. I truly appreciated her gesture, but I felt extremely uncomfortable. After waiting for more than 30 minutes, she paid my bill by cash and finally shared a PayPal QR code and I paid the bill. This experience was not only frustrating but also deeply humiliating. What could have been a memorable evening turned into a situation where I felt unwelcome and judged. If there had been a clear “Cash Only” sign or the staff had mentioned it upfront, this could’ve easily been avoided. Sadly, this experience left a sour taste and made me question whether I should continue visiting Indian restaurants abroad. It's not just about food — hospitality and transparency matter just as much. I don’t think the owner will ever realize that unclear payment policies and abrupt behavior can really ruin someone’s day.

One of our go-to restaurants in Mannheim as you will never be disappointed here. Currys, samosas, naan burgers and lassis all taste delicious and the naan is really huge! The prices are perhaps a little higher than you're used to elsewhere, but I still think ~15€ per meat curry with a large portion of rice is fair. An all-you-can-eat buffet has recently been offered daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which you definitely have to try out!

Best Indian restaurant in Mannheim

Location is central in Mannheim. Therefore, it can sometimes be difficult to park nearby. Authentic cuisine in a beautiful ambience. The service was friendly and accommodating. I had dinner there with my family. 3 main courses, 2 starters and 5 drinks were exactly 80 euros You can definitely recommend it. Also worth mentioning is the kitchen, which is open all day on Saturday

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was not great, especially considering the price. The service was even worse—the staff was rude and unwelcoming, with no sense of how to speak to customers. On top of that, they don’t accept card payments, and the bill was handwritten on paper, which felt outdated and unprofessional. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place and definitely won’t be returning.

Hey everyone, My family and I made a reservation here to celebrate a birthday. Right from the start it was implied that we should order quickly and leave straight after eating, which was a bad welcome. The pictures in the menu do not correspond to the actual dish, they were simply taken from the internet. A sauce was missing from one dish. After asking several times, I was told that it was the sauce from the starter (even though there was an extra sauce for the chosen dish)… We were still eating and the waitress came back and asked if we wanted to pay EVEN THOUGH she saw that two of us still had our forks in our hands and were eating. In the store, there may be a pleasant background music missing instead of the YouTube video that is playing on the television. Food was ok but wouldn't come here again for the food. Tables are also very small, you have to be careful with all the food :)

I had the chicken burger and got food poisoning that evening. I also noticed that the menu contains a lot of letters and numbers referring to additives, which doesn't seem very “authentic”. All the knives were dull, the spoons were even sharper. The service also left a lot to be desired - of course it's understandable that the staff needs breaks, but if both servers have lunch at the same time, the guest is left to his own devices. Card payment is not possible, which is rather inconvenient these days. The ambience has potential, but there are a few shortcomings: the wallpaper on the ceiling is peeling, the radiators need cleaning, and a TV in the room doesn't exactly contribute to a cozy atmosphere. I was here shortly after it opened and I have to say that the restaurant has deteriorated significantly since then - it's a real shame.

The food tasted very good, the pepper chicken is highly recommended. We didn't wait long for the food. Price ratio was right. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star because of the service, the operation was very stressed. I understand that everything should happen quickly in a snack bar. But she didn't tell us what kind of food it was, just the number. Of course we didn't know what number we ordered. We asked, but she still wasn't willing to explain what dishes they were 😵 At the end there was a handwritten invoice. We wanted to pay separately. I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We started with the samosa chaat, which was good, and the papadam served as a starter, which was nice. However, the mango lassi was more like a liquid version of 'Amrakhand' (mango Shrikhand), which wasn’t what I expected. Overall, the food didn’t meet my expectations for authenticity or flavor. When we requested takeaway, we were given a box and told to pack the leftovers ourselves, which felt a bit impersonal since, in most places, the staff helps with that. This wasn’t a major issue but worth noting. The service was where the experience really fell short. Absolutely terrible experience. The food was a huge letdown, everything we ordered was either excessively sweet or unbearably salty. To make things worse, my portion of Chicken Korma had exactly three small pieces of chicken. I could count them on one hand! And to top it off, I’ve never seen a Biryani served with a salad on top. It was bizarre and completely out of place. Not only was the food disappointing, but the service was even worse. The staff was shockingly unprofessional. As the cherry on top, they ONLY ACCEPT CASH and had no way for us to pay by card. When we explained we didn’t have cash, they actually suggested we leave either our phone or ID with them while we went out to get money. Unbelievable. This was hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The positive reviews must be fake because there’s no way anyone could genuinely enjoy this place. Avoid at all costs!

The food is so sweet. I ordered vindaloo chicken and it’s tasted like so much tomato sauce. Rice portion is quiet big. This shop in CASH ONLY and not so convenient. So pack and the sitting is so close. And also Briyani doesn’t take like one. I think they amend the original Indian food taste for locals. Ayurvedic lemon rice is also sweet

The food was very far away from being authentic and delicious. The salt and sugar levels were all over the place. It was either too sweet or too salty. Despite my request, the restaurant did not prepare my lamb biryani in advance. The whole point of ordering in advance is to get a delicious biriyani, and in the end they served a below average biryani. This place used to be good once upon a time. Now, it's a place for below average food and harassment if you don't carry cash.

AVOID. Great starter. Good main. Not at all obvious this is cash only. Long wait for Bill and had to ask for it twice. When bill evebtually arrived and it turned out they only take cash I explained i would need to go to an ATM. Owner started demanding to take my ID or mobile phone. I said i was unwilling to do that but he could photograph my photo id which includes my name and address. He became extremely aggressive and threatened to call the police. I suggested he go right ahead and do that. One of the waitresses then photographed my ID instead. I went and got cash, returned and paid. His waitress was polite and apologetic but unfortunately the owner is an aggressive lunatic. Avoid avoid avoid.

The food is fantastic. My favorite indian place in Mannheim. The portion sizes are good and the menu is diverse and interesting. If you manage to get a table, the atmosphere is great too, but probably not to everyone's taste - it's loud, cramped and you'll be touching elbows with the next table. But it feels cozy and fun. The service seems a bit stilted and stresses, but it kind of fits the vibe of the whole place. You can only pay in cash, which is a bit annoying.

My wife and I drove an hour to come to this restaurant and feel like it was a mistake. Immediately when myself, my wife, and our 1 year old daughter arrived, we asked for a table and stated we didn’t have a reservation and the owner put placed her hands on her forehead and started shaking her head like it was an inconvenience. This place has accepted walk ins in the past and we didn’t feel welcome at all. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order while the owners are cleaning silverware and being very loud about it also. A simple request was made to our order where the same owner seemed like she was mocking the request to another worker. All in all, everyone just seemed very rude. We have been here before where it seemed like we weren’t “welcome”, but we love the food and wanted to give it another try. But after today, I don’t believe we will come back. Customers don’t expect to have a red carpet thrown out for them, but at least pretend to have a smiling face, be kind, and remember it’s a small restaurant and anyone that is the least bit observant can notice some things.

You shouldn’t expect a warm welcome at this restaurant if you don’t have a reservation. When I mentioned we didn’t have one, the owner immediately rubbed their forehead and shook their head, making us feel unwelcome from the start—it was just plain unpleasant. Throughout the meal, their attitude made it seem like it was entirely our fault for not booking ahead. Managing walk-ins and reservations is part of a restaurant’s job, but they made us feel like we had interrupted their busiest time just to get a free meal. We drove an hour just for their food, but their rude behavior made it impossible to enjoy. They didn’t even handle our request for extra spicy correctly, and we had to ask for extra sauce, which still didn’t taste as expected—it could’ve easily been cooked with it. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Wow! We had such a delicious starter, the samosas were so good! We are very excited and will definitely come back! If you are in Mannheim and want to eat Indian food, this is the right place! There is very good Indian food here, as well as numerous vegan and vegetarian dishes. You can also order the dishes spicy. Ordering for takeaway food works by phone. The food is usually ready for pickup after 20 minutes. I think it is very tasty, especially Bhindi Masala. I would get food there more often if there were reusable packaging.
