Wow, people! What an incredibly delicious meal? How well can a drink accompaniment (even non-alcoholic ones) fit and taste? And how great can service be? Not to mention the ambience! The mural shares the same entrance as the MUCA Museum in Munich. The furnishings fit harmoniously into the style of the museum. The decor is modern, simple, industrial, a little crazy and unusual. The relaxed atmosphere, despite the Michelin star, lasted throughout the evening, which we really liked. The 7-course menu was not only delicious, but also sophisticated and creative. Ingredients were used that are not known from classic French or more typical Michelin cuisine. Even if not all dishes were 100% to our liking, the menu overall was of high quality and very well prepared. We didn't like the pork chop, which was a bit tough in places and the layer of fat was too thick so it wasn't really edible. The sashimi with apple, apple cider vinegar and sturgeon caviar was also a bit bland for us and lacked flavor. The non-alcoholic beverage accompaniment proved to be an excellent choice. The fermented foam drinks and juices were exceptional and went well with the food. It was also nice to spend the evening without alcohol as you could enjoy the food more and feel light and satisfied at the end. The service was extremely friendly and relaxed. The food was served at a comfortable pace - neither too fast nor too slow. Of course the price is not cheap, but it is absolutely reasonable for a star restaurant in Munich. Overall, highly recommended, a great, pleasant experience with interesting culinary impressions.

We stumbled into the bar by chance - and it was an incredibly good coincidence. 😚 We were greeted very nicely and they took care of our coats and umbrella. Some unusual wines were suggested to accompany our chosen dishes, which the waitress was able to introduce and explain well. Taking one wine from it and adding a second wine that was excellent according to our taste expectations, our journey of enjoyment began. The super tender pork belly was an extremely interesting expedition into the realm of the taste senses - brilliant. The same applied to the zucchini dish. The very courteous and friendly waitresses live by the idea that the guest is the center of attention. Good service is the hallmark of a good restaurant. The evening was so successful that our missing umbrella, which another guest obviously took as a gift 😂, couldn't really dampen the mood. Well, wait if we catch you! 😉 The restaurant tried to alleviate the loss as much as possible with a glass of champagne. The focus is on the well-being of the guests - great. Thanks for that. We'll be back.

An “industrial chic” restaurant. The best has probably been made of the location, but ultimately it is a museum bistro and a moderately appealing ambience for a star restaurant. It started with the fact that the non-alcoholic beverage accompaniment was not available due to a “failure of cooling”. The menu itself is imaginative and well coordinated, certainly worth the star. Unfortunately, the negative surprise came the next day when we all had diarrhea for a whole week, which was apparently caused by the only food we consumed together. This meant that we saw the failure of the cooling system in a completely different light, which the restaurant wasn't particularly interested in.

Unfortunately, we were also disappointed with our evening. There were just too many negative things that accumulated and made our visit there the first and last. The service was nice and attentive, but not well organized and fluid. First the wrong menu was brought to one of us, then we had to ask twice to get a glass of wine and for another course, even though it was ordered twice, no red wine was brought with the meat. And the Wagyu beef was just lukewarm when it arrived. Some other courses also lacked finesse. They were too random in taste. And paying over €200 per person for that is not satisfactory. In general, neither the service nor the food met the standards that one would expect for a Michelin star. Since we have already been to many, unfortunately we really have to say that in comparison. A pity.

We recently dined at this restaurant and chose the four-course lunch menu, hoping for a delightful experience. The meal started with a tomato dish that had a nice blend of flavors, though it was simply tomato and cream cheese. The potato and egg dish was interesting but not something I would choose again. Unfortunately, the chicken main course was not to my taste, and when I informed the waitstaff that I didn't like it and would be skipping it, I expected some consideration on the bill. Dessert was a pleasant note to end on, but my partner’s wine pairing didn’t leave a lasting impression; when asked, he expressed no desire to repurchase any of the wines. At €200 for two, we left feeling that the overall experience was mediocre, especially after I didn’t enjoy the main course. A small adjustment to the check would have been appreciated, given the circumstances. Overall, we expected more and walked away disappointed.

We went to Mural for Sunday brunch in early June - our second visit, having had the regular evening menu a few years ago. Given the price and value for money of the brunch menu, you obviously don't expect a star level. We were therefore pleasantly surprised by the first two courses - the fish and the onsen egg tasted excellent. Little faux-pas: our egg dishes had egg shell residue on both plates. The service reacted very confidently and gave us a drink as a small apology. Thank you for that! Unfortunately, the second part of the menu could no longer keep up with the strong start. My friend's Tegyu sandwich apparently used a very oversized end piece - and the French toast for dessert had seen too much heat on one side, but still lacked the crunch. Both dishes were by no means bad - but you could get the feeling that from here on it was all about "getting full" and that the finesse unfortunately fell by the wayside. Other small details such as drinks advertised on the menu that were then no longer available, or the industrial atmosphere (100% a matter of taste) meant that we left the Mural after brunch not disappointed, but not enthusiastic either.

Maybe my expectations were too high because we were absolutely thrilled with our visit to the Mural Farmhouse... but now in detail: The service was very nice and the location was modern chic but also interchangeable. Unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. For me, many courses were lost in somewhat boring, creamy sauces. I was consistently missing something special. The accompanying wines were good - but neither really special nor presented with a lot of love. Unfortunately, just a few days after the visit, I can't really remember any course. And the visit was too expensive for that at over 200 EUR per person. I'm so very sorry... But 4 stars is really the best I can give for our visit to the Mural.

I found the dining experience at this restaurant somewhat underwhelming. The service was mediocre at best. We ordered a four-course meal but were mistakenly served five courses, though we were only charged for four. Additionally, there was a mix-up with the wine service; the waitstaff initially served the neighboring table’s wine to us, which we realized only when our bottle arrived 15-20 minutes after our order. These mishaps left me with the impression that the service team lacked the necessary experience. Despite these issues, the evening was overall pleasant.

We booked the five course tasting menu and wine pairings at Mural with some misgivings after reading several negative reviews. We were therefore gratified to see that Mural was fully booked during our visit, and we very much enjoyed our meal, the wine pairings, the service, and the atmosphere. Although we normally do not review restaurants, in this case we wanted to offset those negative reviews with our own experience. Though small and bistro-like, with a casual ambience, the service was impeccable, very much in keeping with Michelin starred restaurants. Each course was thoughtfully prepared using a wide range and combination of ingredients, focusing on fish, vegetables, meat, and finally on a creative and delicious dessert. We found the courses innovative, with servers providing details about each course as it was presented. Similarly, the sommelier matched the food perfectly with German, Austrian, and French wines, providing details about each winery and the grapes used. We found the prices at Mural similar to other Michelin restaurants, the tasting menu at Mural offering excellent value for the quality provided. We would definitely return to Mural ; we hope that other diners are not put off by what seem to be very superficial negative reviews, some of which were provided in covid times, and hence during very unusual circumstances.

An absolutely great experience - I can only recommend it to everyone. We ate here for our 1st wedding anniversary. This was truly the most beautiful and delicious food I have ever eaten. We had the vegan menu with non-alcoholic drinks. A dream! We are already looking forward to next week when we are back in Munich and can enjoy this great food. Edit April 15, 2024: Unfortunately, Mural no longer offers a vegan menu. Since we eat a vegan diet, we will no longer visit the mural from now on. A pity.

We ended up waiting up to 40 minutes between courses which is way too long. Overall my party did not have a pleasant experience here due to the pacing of the service.

This experience got off to a bad start before we even got to the restaurant and it didn't get any better. I reserved the 'after 8' menu a couple of months ago for yesterday evening. The price was in the region of 80-90 eur for a four course menu. I got a call from somebody from the restaurant yesterday afternoon who wanted to confirm that I had booked for 8pm a la carte. I was out and about and I couldn't remember the 'after 8' reference but explained that I had booked something with four courses. He treated me as if I was I was talking nonsense. it was surprising that he had no idea what I had originally booked which suggests an amateurish organisational set-up. I should have followed my gut instinct that this wasn't an establishment worth trying and cancelled. Eventually he started shouting to the chefs asking if they could rustle up a menu meal which he then demanded a 110 euros for. I was tired and couldn't be bothered arguing anymore so I agreed. No attempt was made to find out about the original booking and offer similar terms. I was genuinely surprisred that the person on the phone was happy to shout to colleagues while I was on the call. Obviously I was annoyed that my meal price had jumped by 40-60 euros without some kind of warning. I have to say the experience on arrival was just embarassing. The front of house is run by a very young inexperienced team. What was even more galling is there was no awareness of the steep learning curve required. They have literally no idea what is expected in a one star Michelin restaurant. It was so basic that I have little understanding how this passed muster when the judges came by.Given this state of affairs the menu price demanded is contentious to say the least. We arrived, no-one greeted us and they left us standing there like two lonely souls. I had to just grab someone and ask if we could sit somewhere. No-one came by with a menu, neither food nor wine. I had to ask for everything. It was like some kind of Monty Python sketch. If any of you out there have done the Michelin star thing you will be aware of the efforts staff make to ensure you feel welcome. This basic concept was not embraced by nearly all of the staff  although there should be a quick mention for the staff member dealing with the wine who did her best to brighten up the evening and showed a modicum of professionalism. Apart from her if you can imagine final year schoolkids on a work experience day then you can get a feel for the experience. Given this environment it was surprising that the food was good but nowhere near the level of the price that was being demanded. There were errors in execution especially in the cooking of the pigeon. It is more of a Bib Gourmand level restaurant. A 60- 70 eur price range would be more the level they should aiming for. As mentioned the sommelier was helpful but only after I complained about the pairings which were of poor quality. They are trying to push wines that got popular in French wine bars about 5 years ago. Orange wine, biodynamic etc but they were too low grade to consider acceptable. And they were distinctly ungenerous with the  wine pours. Bizarrely they have a wine menu that is very expensive, not to mention overpriced, which doesn't seem to match the clientele. It really is a poorly thought out wine menu. Suffice to say that the evening only got worse with items forgotten  and things served cold. We were just left bewildered.Having expressed my concern with the affair there was no suggestion of trying to meet us halfway with a reduction etc. Even more interesting is that it never even occured to the staff member that he should have broached this. My eating partner was seething when he considered what we could have done with the 400 euros demanded. To give you an example at the weekend I spent only 150euros more for a meal for two in a 1 star Michelin place in Chelsea which had more courses with wildly more inventive food, outstanding service, bottle of Champagne  and some top end glasses of wine. This establishment is way off this kind of pace.

The place is located in a modern museum ans the interior in the restaurant I assume is in line with it. The menu is short and interesting. The staff is nice but I struggle to understand how this place has a Michelin star. Sommelier just nodded when I asked for wine. All dishes served by 6 different people and majority with no passion or enthusiasm to explain what’s been served. Everything was just proper. But nothing was exceptional. At the end we were not asked if we would like to have a coffee or tea or digestive…. And the bill for 2 over €700…

Die Idee zum Besuch des Mural kam meinem Kollegen und mir Nachmittags spontan auf einer Messe in München, als klar war, dass es abends nicht mehr Messe, sondern Fine Dining werden sollte. Weil sich die Empfehlung des online konsultierten GM super anhörte und weil wir zum Glück offenbar noch den letzten 2erTisch bekamen, fiel die Wahl auf da Mural. Was soll ich sagen, wir haben es nicht bereut. ALs Berliner waren wir bei Eintritt in das Restaurant zunächst verwundert: Das Mural ist / war "eigentlich" das Museumsbistro des Muca und der Ausbau / die Raumgestaltung ist bester schäbby Chic à la Berlin - Mitte, also wie zu Hause! Die Toiletten gehen dann noch einen Schrift weiter nach Wedding oder Friedrichshain (an der noch nicht gentrifizierten Ecke). Das Personal würde auch nach Berlin passen, allerdings nur auf den ersten Blick, denn hinter der lockeren "Berlin Optik" zeigte sich nicht nur super freundliches und servicefreudiges (beides wäre in Mitte nicht die Regel) Personal, sondern insbesondere der Sommelier war nicht nur kenntnisreich, sondern hatte große Freude seine Auswahl zu erläutern, ganz ohne zu belehren, wunderbar! Dabei war die Weinbegleitung zwar sehr Jura- und Naturwein-lastig (es gibt zusätzlich eine kleine, aber feine Karte mit glasweisem Wein gerade auch für Raritäten und GGs und zusätzlich eine umfangreiche Flaschen - Weinkarte), was mich eigentlich nicht unbedingt elektrisiert, aber hier muss ich zugeben, dass die Kombination mit dem jeweiligen Gang ziemlich gut war. Überhaupt, das Essen: modern, aber nicht gewollt, köstlich, handwerklich und optisch überzeugend . Wir waren durch die Bank begeistert, einzig die Käsesauce zur Bergforelle kam ein bisschen zu hart, der köstliche Bergkäse machte das eigentlich noch köstlichere Fischchen förmlich platt. Der Rest, insbesondere der Zander und das Hirschkalb waren großartig. Wenn es nicht so weit weg wäre, würde ich gerne häufiger kommen.

Went to Mural on the recommendation of a friend - and didn't regret it. Not at all. I think it's like a bit of Berlin in Munich - and that's right among my favorites. From the atmosphere, service to drinks and food, everything fits and is harmonious here. You may have to look for the mural the first time, but when you enter through the sliding glass door you will notice the special charm: a mixture of industrial style and tavern. This is also reflected in the dishes, where it is really difficult to decide on a favorite. But to give an example: the GRAMMEKNÖDEL was fantastic, something rustic reinterpreted. The rest, whether meat, fish, Jerusalem artichoke, was also outstanding. And always focus on local products. Well, this only applies to a limited extent to caviar and truffles, you have to like that too with the add-ons, but the dishes were also optional in the menu. If you don't like it, just don't order it. Only when it comes to desserts: Mushrooms and chocolate only suit me to a limited extent, but that wasn't a detractor. The wine accompaniment was also great, each course was explained in detail and exciting and suitable wines were selected throughout. Yes, and while I'm talking about service: also great!

This was by far the BEST vegan dinner we have had in eating round the world. Superb range of flavours and superb skills on show. Outstanding service and staff. It was very very expensive, but there were six in the kirchen, four front of house and only thirteen in the restaurant. Really surprising combinations expertly managed, and good flight of winbes to accompany the food. There were five unannounced ameuses geules including a maginficient dish with a beetroot sauce and horseradish granita; four petit fours including the best raspberry 'gummy bear'. In between seven courses of complex, layered and absolutely delicious food. A real treat: super expensive but for us totally worth it

Contemporary, was im Deutschen soviel wie zeitgenössisch bedeutet, ist eine lange nicht für möglich gehaltene Beschreibung für die nähere Umgebung. Der in direkter Nachbarschaft liegende Bunker war lange Zeit ein Überbleibsel einer auch für München unseligen Zeit. Erst das Museum of Urban Contemporary Art konnte dieser Nachbarschaft etwas abgewinnen und das Areal, etwas weiter gedacht, mahnend in die Neuzeit transformieren. Architektonisch aus diesem Blickwinkel betrachtet darf man sich nicht wundern, dass das hochdekorierte gastronomische Angebot des Restaurants Mural nicht zwingend mit einer auf Luxus orientierten Raumausstattung glänzen kann - und das ist gut so! Eine kreativ inspirierende Decke vermag die Lüftungsrohre nicht zu verbergen und die Tische dürfen ihren nüchternen Designstil offen zur Schau stellen. Gepaart mit etwas Firlefanz in Form eines dekorativen Fliesenspiegels sind es die in schwarz gehaltenen Thonet-Stühle (Vermutung), die darauf schließen lassen, dass dieses Ausstattungskonzept mit Bedacht gewählt wurde und "Contemporary im Style" ist. Trotz dieser Vorschusslorbeeren rückt allein schon bei der Präsentation der gebotenen Kulinarik das bereits Erwähnte in den Hintergrund. Contemporary, which means contemporary in German, is a description for the immediate vicinity that was not thought possible for a long time. The bunker in the immediate vicinity was for a long time a remnant of an unfortunate time, also for Munich. It was only the Museum of Urban Contemporary Art that was able to make something of this neighbourhood and, thinking a little further ahead, transform the area into the modern era. From this architectural point of view, one should not be surprised that the highly decorated gastronomic offer of the Mural restaurant cannot necessarily shine with a luxury-oriented interior design - and that is a good thing! A creatively inspiring ceiling fails to conceal the ventilation pipes and the tables are allowed to openly flaunt their sober design style. Paired with some frippery in the form of a decorative tile mirror, it is the Thonet chairs in black (guess) that suggest that this furnishing concept was chosen carefully and is "contemporary in style". Despite these praises, the presentation of the culinary delights alone pushes the aforementioned into the background. Sehr schönes modernes Ambiente und freundliches aufgeschlossenes Personal, die einem Fragen zu den Gerichten auch gerne beantworten. Das Personal ebenfalls jung und fachlich nicht zu unterschätzen ist äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. I'm OBSESSED! Honestly, the food was do beautiful I didn't want to eat it but thankful to have destroyed art to taste perfection. It says 7 courses but I counted around 15 with all the smaller additional bits of food that are included. Worth every penny and the service was impeccable. I never felt rushed or pressured and it was a non pretentious environment. Take all my money! I will be back when I visit Munich again.

A chef or manager came with elaborate introduction. ------ 後續菜餚相當值得,但什麼介紹都沒有(?)可以合理推測主廚對於麵包驕傲,但後面的菜餚仍然沒有信心。 After introducing the bread. The guy said nothing about following cuisines. Maybe he thought nothing proud of those cuisine, or just want to keep it as his secret until he retires. -前菜: 優秀的裹粉炸鵪鶉蛋 beetroot-Quail's egg-Cream cheese cuisine. -主菜 優秀的羊 鹿 但是兩批次的火候,熟度差異相當大,後面的很生(raw) -甜點 好吃 不錯的搭配 大約兩小時四道菜 A regular speed of deploy dishes,. Starting with ambiance, it was very rustic industrial look which adds another dimension as far as ambience is concerned. There is no doubt about the food, from starters to wine to main course everything was perfect and was a dance of flavors in the mouth. Had a perfect evening anyone could have asked for. Would love to come back again!!

Sensationell! Toller, moderner Ansatz. Das ganze Menü inkl. Wein sehr durchdacht und auch mutig. Service war hervorragend! Hat wirklich Spaß gemacht hier Gast zu sein.

What an interesting place! To start at the end, I had a lot of fun at Mural and highly recommend this restaurant! The atmosphere is an elegant "grunge meets lounge", concrete tables, a muted sound of ambient music, kitchen and fan sounds. The light makes the industrial chic place intimate and upon sitting down one's interest is awake. The service is pleasantly polite without excess frills snd has great timing through the course of the menu of many dishes. The food: contemporary imaginations of a post-modern French cuisine. Hip textures, surprising while top-level ingredients, a masterful play with multiple sauces and their different textures. Wisely a spoon is presented with every dish to scoop up the remaining bits from the well-composed plates. The vegetables are outstanding. A tasty potato bread is being served on the side. The cuisine is a refreshing nudge into the "right now" of gourmet cooking with the pleasant trimmings of effortless technique. A Michelin star is certainly deserved, and I can see the next one coming. A few criticisms to add to this long review: Maybe salt was applied with a bit much generosity (in fairness, I live in the US where things are generally done less salty). Also the seasoning technique of using salt in combination with acidity seemed to be a signature feature on many dishes, but could appear a bit like a "one trick pony". Lastly, the service should just take all silverware away after each dish rather than leaving possibly unused spoons on the little stone plates. Anyway, I see a very dynamic restaurant here and am looking forward to coming back for new delicious creative surprises. Thank you for a splendid evening in Munich.

Das moderne Ambiente, das junge, aufgeschlossene und aufmerksame Team, die wunderbaren Gaumenfreuden, der besonders kreative Umgang mit Gemüse, die viele kleinen Gänge, die man mit Spannung erwartet, machen einen Abend hier zu einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis. Meine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

Sehr gutes und ausgefallenes Essen mit tollen Weinen kombiniert. Die Kombination der Produkte lässt manchmal zweifeln aber auf dem Teller ist es immer ein Vergnügen. Dazu sehr freundlicher und kompetenter Service. Haben uns wirklich wohl gefühlt. Für Vegetarier und Veganer ist das Menü auf dem gleichen Level wie die Fleischoptionen.

We had the pleasure of dining at Käfer Schänke with an international group of guests for the second time, and once again, it was a fantastic experience. Käfer Schänke is not just a restaurant; it’s a place where you truly experience Bavarian hospitality at its best. From the elegant decor to the excellent food and attentive service – everything was perfect. Our guests were captivated by the charming atmosphere, and the kitchen team once again delivered at the highest level.
