A beautifully located beer garden in the northern part of the English Garden. Therefore it is well-grown with old trees and is also somewhat hidden, so that it is not quite as much of a tourist destination as other beer gardens. Large playground for the little ones. There are deductions because of the extremely high price levels in recent years. Example: 1/2 chicken with potato salad and a half, not a slim 25€. Half light €5.70. The renovation in 2024 in the self-service area was only carried out very half-heartedly. The old, dirty awnings now stretch over the new, shiny stainless steel delivery area and are now particularly noticeable in a negative way. Sorry, but if you raise prices so blatantly, the return has to be right.

Rustic beer garden, good beer, decent food. Unfortunately it closed earlier than planned.

We used to be here more often (children, playground, not so crowded, nice location, shady), but unfortunately the food is no longer good because it's overpriced and only satisfactory. The chicken was far too dry, the Obazdn was no longer homemade and the taste was rather underground. It's a real shame☹️

In my opinion, Hirschau is the best beer garden in Munich. The food and beer are at least solid and you can also find vegetarian alternatives. We particularly like the somewhat remote location at the entrance to the northern part of the English Garden. From there you can take great walks and explore the best swimming spots on the Isar or Eisbach. So you get the all-round package of Munich savoir vivre here.

Jessas Maria............ that was nothing. The atmosphere in the English Garden is of course great. That's why we get 1st star. But that was it. You quickly pay EUR 40.50 for a quick stop. If you get good quality/food for it, I wouldn't have any objections. But: Currywurst 7.50 EUR, just the sausage without any side dishes, terribly nasty and only lukewarm. SMALL fries plus 5.70 EUR... greasy, hard, not edible and only lukewarm (they had certainly been in the warming dish for some time). 2 meat patties with potato salad 15.90 EUR Apple spritzer 0.5 L, 5.50 EUR bland and stale. Non-alcoholic wheat beer 0.5 L EUR 5.90 from the bottle, drinkable. At least the packaged portion ketchup was included for free. Of course, going to the toilet costs extra for the nice lady.... Doesn't have to happen again. SHAME!

Update 2024: Super friendly staff in the beer garden, which is rare these days. Unfortunately, at 9 p.m. with 26 degrees and the best weather, lukewarm spare ribs for 20 euros... A really nice beer garden with food that bears no relation to the inflated prices. At noon at 12 we got French fries that had obviously been fried a long time ago. The sausage was also only lukewarm and tough. And at this price: 1 currywurst with 1 portion of fries and a 0.5 bottle of cola for a total of €18.70 - with self-service! I'm willing to pay good money for a good meal, but that's really not how it works! There are also other beautiful beer gardens in Munich…

Too expensive, especially for the quality of the food

I used to enjoy staying here, but since "the boys" took over, it's no longer the same. Excessive prices combined with poor service and mediocre food. In addition, as a guest you have to pay for parking without it being charged when you eat. The main thing is that the Tesla drivers (who come to charge without consuming anything) are supplied with electricity. Pride comes before a fall.

I don't understand the negative reviews. We were there yesterday. Live music Halifax was great, not too loud, there was even dancing. The chicken was good, the sausages too. The pork knuckles looked great too. Unfortunately the pretzel was very expensive and hard. Oktoberfest pretzels would be better. There is still room for improvement. The boys at the tavern were in a good mood and at the checkout there were of course wet wipes against fat fingers and beer mats against wasps. The staff was very friendly everywhere. Toilets very neat. It's a shame that the beautiful restaurant only has a high-priced menu and no individual dishes from the menu. We would like to eat there sometime because the menu is interesting. We'll be back.

Pretty expensive. Fish was really good, but at that price why does the fish have to be eaten on parchment paper on the tray? You just have to pass a plate.

When I visited you in the beer garden today I was actually surprised again. How to convert the kitchen into a beer garden pub in May? The half measure is way too overpriced. That's why I only have a few dishes. Hendl was out at 4 p.m. on Sunday. On the one hand, the Hirschau is one of the traditional beer gardens in Munich, but on the other hand, it was so renovated a few years ago that the old flair, the old chestnuts and the traditional dance floor in the middle and the mini golf course are irretrievably lost. Also gone is the dance hall with its standard music on weekends, which you could listen to outside and pop in to see where the not-so-young people danced Fox and Tango. Instead of the cozy bar of old in the wooden hut and the delicacy huts, the drinks and food served are of interchangeable beer garden standard. But now to the positive. Everything is super clean, the prices are okay, the quality too. In addition, the beer garden is somewhat hidden in the English Garden and therefore hardly noticed by tourists. The current landlord is doing his best to bring back a little of the lost atmosphere. Very often there are great, no, super great, bands, mostly cover music, but of the finest quality, where you can really dance on the new dance floor and with free entry. And in keeping with the tradition of Munich beer gardens, you can also bring your own food there.

Slightly smaller beer garden located in the northern part of the English Garden, which also includes the "1804 Restaurant". It is particularly cozy there when live music is played. But it can quickly become overcrowded in the summer. In addition to “Löwenbräu” beer, the usual snacks are offered, with Steckerlfisch and other fish specialties being particularly noteworthy. The prices are at the comparatively high level of the English Garden. The "Hirschau" is okay, but there are also nice beer gardens in Munich where the beer is a little cheaper.

Whoever currently runs the Hirschau: a bit of friendliness is nice!

The Beer Garden in the Englischen Park is a great place to spend time after enjoying a walk in the famous park in central Munich. Once there used to be almost crowded with both nudist and clothed pedestrians, but recently there are only a few brave souls who venture into the park as unclothed sunworshippers.
