Dude, that was bad - 5 stars never again! food doesn't taste good and is too overpriced I don't even know how the shop is still alive

Staff very slow. Price performance doesn't fit. Doner is too small for the price. Not worth it.

I don't know where to start The service was soooo slow and unfocused. Currywurst with fries, no curry sauce for the nuggets, no sweet and sour sauce, the information came after we had already paid, the kebab was small and nice and cold, the fries were limp, so the conclusion was a total failure 😏

We ordered different dishes, but unfortunately the coordination was anything but ideal. The kebab I ordered had already been prepared while other dishes were still being prepared. This caused my kebab to get cold before I could even start eating. Unfortunately, the taste of the kebab wasn't convincing either - it simply doesn't taste the way it should when cold. In addition, the kebab could have been larger for the price, which is now higher due to the increased prices like everywhere else. The service also left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, the service was quite slow, which further detracted from the experience. Overall my visit was disappointing.

I ordered a chicken salad from Mr. Chicken today and was absolutely disappointed. What I got looked like everything but chicken salad. The meat was dry, fatty and looked like it was over a week old. The entire dish seemed carelessly cobbled together. The sight completely ruined my appetite and I ended up not eating it at all. If something isn't changed soon, someone will soon be in the hospital with food poisoning. I apologize for this poor review, but what has to be, has to be. I will definitely not order here again.

It is not the first time we are having a dinner here, this time I had a bad experience with the smelly chicken hot wings. The wings were smelling bad and we asked for a replacement however they gave us again other bad smelling chicken. Furthermore the paper cups🥤had a mouldy smell, most probably they kept the cups in a humid place. This happened now for the second time. The waitresses did not accept 100% the feedback we gave them.

Despite the long wait for the food, the quality of everything wasn't up to par. The fries looked like they were from yesterday. Filet was still ice cold. The color was still the same as it was from the freezer. The most valuable thing in the store is the coffee machine, provided you don't add coffee milk to the coffee. Despite the long shelf life of coffee milk, flakes of milk float in the coffee. Here even the long-life milk is caused to spoil due to probably incorrect storage.

Nice place and good to eat and spend time

So honestly, Mr. Chicken is very expensive for his name. 2 hamburgers and 1 fries cost a whole €10.79, extremely expensive for a fast food shop.

I actually really enjoy visiting Mr. Chicken, but I've had disappointing experiences on my last few visits. The first time I noticed a strange smell while drinking my cola, it smelled strongly of mold. The smell clearly came from the drink cup. I immediately reported this to the staff, who apologized. I thought something like that could happen and left it at that. Today I was there again and had another problem. My hot wings, which I usually order, had an unpleasant smell. When I bit into it, the taste was simply inedible. I brought my food back and again my drink smelled strongly of mold. I told the staff again. As an apology I was given a fillet burger, which was nice but doesn't solve the real problem. My point is not to get something new, but rather that such hygiene deficiencies are unacceptable. For me, gastronomy also means that hygiene has top priority. I hope that these issues are taken seriously and resolved so that I can happily eat at Mr. Chicken again in the future.

Went there today with a large group and we were all very happy. The hot wings in particular are a hit. I also really enjoyed the deluxe burger. Thanks! We will be back!

Even though the store was very busy, we were served surprisingly quickly. The staff were extremely friendly. I would particularly like to emphasize the cleanliness of the place - everything was spotless and well-kept. The food was simply excellent and we enjoyed it very much. There is also sufficient parking space. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Very unfriendly employees, they think that they work in a luxury hotel and think that they are discussing with customers, they are passive aggressively attacked, the employees have grimacing faces…………… sadly no one forces anyone to work here if they don’t think they are friendly to express that they should please stay at home. Okay, you don't have high expectations in Gelsenkirchen, but if you live in Germany you should know the German language.

Please don't try to save on staff, they will ruin your great store. Unfriendly staff, cold food, some of them don't even know what's on the menu. I was there for the first and last time. As a new customer, I would like to receive advice or at least receive a flyer. Well .. really bad on the outside hui on the inside ugh .. sorry. All the best anyway!!

Didn't find the food that tasty

Very tasty food and large selection. You can park for free on site. However, everything is a bit expensive.

I went to Mr. Chicken today and bought a kids meal with fries and nuggets. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The nuggets were OK, but the portion of fries was extremely small. No child will get tired of it, let alone justify the price-performance ratio. For the price of the menu I would have expected a reasonable amount of fries. hope Mr. Chicken reconsiders portion sizes in the future so that customers feel like they are getting a fair value for their money.

Despite the empty restaurant, service was completely overwhelmed: no sauce on the kebab despite asking beforehand, forgotten dips and almost 20 minutes for a kebab plate, a kids menu and a chicken box... What a shame

I will never come back the first and last time I was here 1. I waited an hour until it was our turn 2 I ordered chicken special Chicken was completely burnt and cold and then we ordered chilli cheese combo in the burger. No cheese at all and the patty was still raw. I'm very disappointed!!!!

Update 2024: - I was shocked the other day when I saw the prices. A normal burger (hardly anything in it, dry bread, poor quality) used to cost €1.59. Now €3.99. They're crazy. - Quality has deteriorated significantly. Especially with the burgers. The breads are very dry and always cold. The meat is super cheap. Little sauce. - only fried chicken is still edible. But all other halal restaurants also offer this (some even in significantly better quality). It's a shame, this used to be a good alternative to McDonalds. But now it's an expensive store where the products don't reflect the price at all. Old review: I've been looking for an alternative to McDonalds for a long time (especially a halal alternative). The Mr.Chicken Restaurant in Gelsenkirchen is awesome. Very nice especially for families. Clean restaurant and nice employees. And the most important thing: it tastes great! Unfortunately the prices have recently been increased slightly. But you can't blame the company.

I ordered a children's box and was told there were no toys included. Instead of the chicken nuggets I ordered, I received a chicken burger. When I went to order a filet I was told it wasn't available so I chose strips. Unfortunately these were not cooked through. The only thing that was edible were the french fries. Overall it was a disappointing experience

Unfortunately, Mr. Chicken has declined significantly over the years. It used to be a great, halal alternative to other snack chains. However, the service from the staff and the quality of the food left something to be desired. Kids Chicobox without toys and old fries was the icing on the cake! It's a shame you used to be great...

I can't say anything against the employees, they are polite and friendly but the food is too expensive and doesn't taste that good. I ordered a dobbel deluxe hamburger and a doner taco. Hamburger was the size of a Doppelburge from McDonald's but almost three times more expensive, and the taco doner didn't taste good at all. The imitation kfc salad didn't taste good either. The food there used to be delicious, but today I only go because of my little one, otherwise not.

I've never eaten outside so badly in my life. Pool food is much tastier.

Optimal place to drink coffee. The staff are friendly, the drinks and food are very tasty, and the food is delicious. Perfect for sitting, chatting and switching off. I always enjoy coming back and look forward to the next time.

Food is halal and filling, so great. The workers are very friendly. Very pleasant atmosphere, beautiful winter garden and a children's room is available. Perfect place to sit and have conversations with colleagues!

A large fries with ketchup mayo plus 1 Cicken Burger just under 9 euros which is really overpriced. I was shocked because we get 3x more full from 1 kebab.

It's a shame we were full of anticipation for delicious burgers and chicken wings etc. We were there at 12 noon and nothing we wanted was ready. End of the song we got a special kebab with fries and an extra fries with mayo, which we would have gotten in any kebab shop. And honestly not recommended.

That's not enough, right now I have to eat a food I don't want, and it's a blessing I can't throw it away. I don't know his name, but the person who prepared the food today was not someone who understood customer satisfaction. The shop itself is nice and most of the food tastes good. Unfortunately, the prices have increased extremely disproportionately and the portions have become smaller in some cases. This cannot be explained by inflation or rising costs. That is too bad.

We were there at my friend's invitation. Before the pandemic, I ate there a lot. Unfortunately, the service loses out here. The food is okay for a fast food restaurant. I placed my order and was told it would take some time. Two customers who came after me also ordered the same thing and received their orders before me. That's a disgrace. Simple questions were answered unfriendly. It's a shame!... If the service was quicker and the staff were a little friendlier, things would probably go much better. The tables were dirty and I had to dispose of leftover food on the benches myself. Unfortunately there were no napkins either. The atmosphere is very nice and nicely done and the playground in front of the terrace is also a good idea. This means that parents can keep an eye on the children while eating. The tea tastes very good.

I was admitted as an inpatient (Marienhospital GE). We ate kebab yesterday around 10 p.m. Diarrhea, stomach pain, body aches until morning. Consumer advice center was also informed. I will never visit you again. This is the second time now!!

You shouldn't eat there. Looks unhealthier than McDonald's and tastes worse than from the table. Definitely a store you shouldn't visit. And this is no fun. See if you can find hair in your food. Faster to find than eggs at Easter.

It's a very nice fast food restaurant, very suitable for families and children, the food is fresh and tasty, the coffee and cakes are very good, it's a pleasant place, I would definitely recommend it.

I think it's very cozy, it has its own terrace and there are also seats outside and the ambience is also very nice. You always feel like coming back here often. I can only recommend it again and again :)

How are you supposed to reserve something if they don't feel like answering the phone and after calling 10 times the service is so bad

The chain was initially quite good, but currently it is quickly losing value. The food tastes so-so.

Drive-in doesn't work, no notice. The staff is too lazy to mark the different orders, example: kebab spicy gets an x, dürüm without sauce gets an x. The staff is unfriendly, as if they are being forced to work. I experienced this again for Ramadan and from now on Mr Chicken is dead to me! For these prices I get much better service everywhere else, I don't have to worry.

The food, the cafe, the friendly staff, the ambience, especially the outdoor seating area, invite you to linger for hours. I really enjoy being there and can only recommend it.

Doner is a mini kebab, not recommended, stay away from mr chicken, it's a disaster, if you don't want to be full and have money to throw away then there you go. Call your kebab children's kebab for up to 5 years but not for adults and then ask for so much money. Shameless, I would like to give 0 stars. It gets more and more expensive and worse until finally someone came up with the idea and said yes, we'll now make mini kebabs and sell them as normal kebabs. Who gets tired of it, which genius invented it for you?

The burgers have shrunk by half. And they cost €3.50. The burger bun has remained the same size but the burger meat only covers half of the bun. Outrageous.

We were just there with my husband at the drive in and ordered a Lahmacun Döner menu and a Chicken Dürüm menu. All well and good, we had to wait a bit at the drive-in, which wasn't a problem at all. The employee at the drive-in was very nice, so I don't have anything to complain about BUT it can't be that I have to travel a little further to order something there and being able to eat in peace at home. I'm really angry that the DÖNER MEAT WAS DRY AND BURNED. IT TASTED OF NOTHING. BITED OFF THREE TIMES AND THE REST IS NOW IN THE TRASH! PAY €33.10 for free and work hard for it! So that it might end up in the trash!!! This isn't the first time but I won't be coming anymore then I'd rather go somewhere else and pay more because of me but I know I'll get kebab meat that's juicy! In my opinion, MR.Chicken has simply slacked off. I don't recommend it either! Soo that's it from my side! TOO BAD

There were 3 very nice employees. But in rush hour! Only 3! For kitchen, checkout, drive, service! They were exhausted! Guests had to wait a very long time! Some prices are also very outrageously high! It's a shame that the restaurant owner is mainly saving on employees!!!

Leider habe ich in diesem Mr.Chicken sehr schlechte und unangenehme Erfahrungen machen müssen, obwohl ich auf die Kette geschwört habe. Angestellt, und als ich dran kam habe ich ganz normal wie immer bestellt. Die Mitarbeiterin mit genervten Blicken (kann passieren, jeder hat mal einen schlechten Tag) hat die Bestellung in sehr frechem Ton aufgenommen. Es waren 2 x Chickenburger Menü und 1x Hot Wings. Sie hat das Menü aufs Tablett gestellt und gesagt das die Hot Wings noch 15 Minuten dauern. Weil der Laden viel Kundschaft hatte, es somit etwas voller um die Kasse war, habe ich ganz höflich gefragt, ob die Hot Wings an den Platz gebracht werden, damit ich für die nächsten Kunden Platz schaffe, oder ich warten soll. Die Mitarbeiterin antwortete sehr frech und leider sehr laut (schreiend), wo man merkte das sie die ganze angestaute Wut an mir rausließ mit „wo denn zum Beispiel? Wo sitzt du denn zum Beispiel? Wohin? Wohin?“. Ich habe dann gesagt das ich noch keinen Platz habe und mir einen suchen müsste. Dann sagte sie „ja wieso fragst du dann?“. Als ich dann sagte das ich höflich und nett gefragt habe weil ich nicht weiss wie es in der Filiale läuft weil ich es von anderen so kannte, sagte sie „geh und komm in 15 Minuten wieder“. Ich habe mich nicht auf die Mitarbeiterin eingelassen, weil ich mir dachte das wenn sie schlechte Laune hat, es ihr Problem ist und nicht meins. Am Platz sah ich eine andere Mitarbeiterin, wie sie anderen Kunden die restliche Bestellung an den Platz brachte. Ich ging zu ihr um ihr die Sache zu schildern. Die freundliche Mitarbeiterin konnte es völlig nachvollziehen, gab mir recht und bestätigte, das sie schlechte Laune haben und deswegen so gehandelt haben könnte und entschuldigte sich für ihr Verhalten. Am Platz bemerkten wir, das nicht nur die Hot Wings, sondern auch zwei Chicken Burger fehlten. Ich ging zu Kasse um nachzufragen und bekam mit wie die Kassiererin die mich bediente über mich lästerte und sagte, mit ihm will ich gleich nichts zutun haben er soll mich nicht ansprechen. Die freundliche Mitarbeiterin sah mich kam zu mir und ich sagte ihr das zwei Chicken Burger fehlten. Sie gab mir die Chicken Burger auf die Hand und dann kam die Kassiererin und sagte ganz laut „ich war nicht frech ok?“. Ich ignorierte sie und ging zu meinem Platz. Nach sogar 25 Minuten ging mein Kollege um nach den Hot Wings zu fragen und die Kassiererin antwortete mit „ich hab doch gesagt kommt in 15 Minuten“. Mein Kollege hat die Uhrzeit auf dem Beleg gezeigt das es über 15 Minuten sind, da konnte sie nichts mehr sagen. Wir haben unser Geld angefordert und sind gegangen. Dieses Mr.Chicken leider leider nie wieder. Die zierliche Mitarbeiterin mit gewellten Haaren, genervten Blicken und frechem Mundwerk schien so, als ob sie die Wut weil sie an einem Sonntag arbeiten muss an anderen rausließ. Finde ich schade, für sie, für die Kunden und auch für den Laden der eigentlich sehr gut ist. Schade, dafür gibt es leider nur einen Stern.

Was Nutz es wenn es Halal ist, wenn das Fleisch nicht richtig durch ist. Bestellprozess sollte auch verbessert werden. Die Toiletten könnten mal öfters gereinigt werden.

Riesige Portion, Fleisch nicht ganz durch, Personal sehr freundlich aber kannte Menü nicht.Habe leider eine schmutzige Gabel bekommen und die Tische müssten Mal abgeräumt und gewischt werden. Zu dem war der Eingang/ Notausgang verschlossen.

Zu teuer, kleine Portionen, schmeckt wie vom Tiefkühlfach und unfreundlicher Service. Nie wieder.

Preis Leistung leider schlecht. Essen war kalt und nicht richtig durch.

Der Döner ist so groß wie ein Brötchen und sah aus wie als wäre es von einem LKW überrollt worden. Der Chickenburger war komplett plattgedrückt und hat geschmeckt als wäre er vom Vortag gewesen. Pommes labbrig und kalt. Jedesmal wenn man auf sein Essen wartet, diskutieren und streiten sich die Mitarbeiter untereinander. Absolut kein seriöses Geschäft.

Preise sehr überzogen! Einen kleinen Döner einen XXL Döner zu nennen ist einfach abzocke. Zudem war die Bedingung echt fehl am Platz und hat mir auch noch das falsche abgerechnet. Nie wieder dahin!

Schmeckt gut und tolle Ambiente

Für Familien nicht wirklich passend. 85% des publikum sind Kaffee trinkende Männer so das man sich mit Frau und Kind irgendwie nicht wohl fühlen kann. MFG Essen ist gut.
