Min Ramen Bar in Heidelberg

Admittedly, it's not a truly Japanese restaurant… sushi, for example, isn't served. But the name says it all… they mainly serve soups. However, these soups and some of the appetizers are REALLY great, taste delicious, and the price-performance ratio is excellent!

The start was bumpy. We had a reservation, but the server wrote down my partner's name and phone number incorrectly, so they couldn't contact us. When we dutifully joined the queue, our table was apparently given to guests without reservations who were ahead of us. A sign outside indicating that guests with reservations should walk past the waiting area would have prevented this mistake. The glass for my drink wasn't clean. When I pointed this out to the server, he immediately brought me a new drink in a clean glass. My partner's ramen was missing the extra egg we ordered, but it was listed on the bill. Annoyingly, we only noticed this afterward (otherwise, we would have overlooked this oversight). The decor is nice, but the noise level is quite high due to the large number of guests, and you get the feeling that they're trying to "process" as many guests as possible in a short amount of time, which unfortunately makes it less than cozy. However, our ramen was very tasty. The Tantanmen Ramen had a pleasantly warming level of spiciness for my European palate. Because of the good ramen, we might give the restaurant a second chance.

On a dreary and cold day in Heidelberg, we visited Mi Ramen Bar – and were instantly charmed. A warm, cozy little place, lovingly and decoratively furnished. The clientele was young and friendly, the service attentive, warm, and unobtrusive. Since we weren't familiar with ramen, we received friendly advice – and the food was simply superb! Rich in flavor, wonderfully warming, and satisfying.

The food was very good, with quick and very pleasant service. Great, youthful atmosphere.

Apart from the service, which delivered the wrong food and then demanded the full amount for the incorrect food, it was very tasty and enjoyable!

A really nice place in Heidelberg's city center; the food is incredibly delicious and the prices are very reasonable! We were there on the weekend, and I definitely recommend making a reservation. The ambiance perfectly suits the Asian crossover style, with a focus on ramen variations. The service was quick and attentive. They close at 10 pm, so you have to move on after that, but it's ideal for a quick bite.

The food was delicious and served quickly. The sparkling wine "Choia" and the lemonade were very good. The service was a bit rushed and didn't have time to bring the bill. Nevertheless, I recommend the restaurant.

We went there for lunch yesterday and got a seat without a reservation. The staff was very friendly. We had edamame as a starter and two medium shoyu ramen. I like that you can choose between medium and large. This way, you have less food waste and can easily eat an appetizer. For us, it was the best ramen we've had outside of Japan so far. We will definitely come back.

Traditional ramen shops take great pride in preparing their soup bases from early morning until noon, often closing once they’ve sold out. Each successful non-chain ramen shop has its own secret blend of ingredients—pork bones, chicken bones, seafood, and more—resulting in unique flavors that draw ramen addicts to seek out every famous shop they encounter. When I came across the reviews, I had high hopes and decided to dedicate one of my dinner here to trying this place. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. I’m surprised by how it has received such a high rating. The soup base tasted as if it hadn't been prepared fresh that day, many traits of artificial flavoring. The chashu was a disaster—semi-cold(feels like freshed defrosted), tough, and has little taste. While the noodles and egg were ok, the pickled vegetables were nearly unchewable. It seems like just another one of those trendy fast-food spots that influencers have popularized. Not terrible, but I expected much more given the ratings.

We used to always go to the Min Ramen Bar in Karlsruhe – luckily, there's one here now, too. It's the best ramen place, but unfortunately, most people know this, which means you still have to wait even with a reservation. Without a reservation, you have no chance of getting a table in under an hour on Thursday and Sunday evenings – so always make a reservation ;) The food is truly super authentic! I'm currently two weeks late with my review, but before I get embarrassed, here's our assessment... we felt very comfortable and our expectations of the cuisine were met... we're already looking forward to the next time!

We found the restaurant by chance on Google. It was simply excellent. We arrived without a reservation and after about a 10-minute wait, we got a table. The menu is available online, and they offer a variety of delicious dishes. We had edamame and takoyaki for starters. For main courses, we had miso ramen and curry udon. All dishes are highly recommended! The service was extremely nice and friendly, even though the restaurant was very busy. We paid €49 for everything, including drinks. We recommend arriving a little early, as there were a lot of people waiting outside.

I'm a Japanese person living in Germany. I've tried ramen at many places in Germany, but they were all disappointing, so I decided not to order ramen there again. But this time, I took a last-ditch effort and ordered miso ramen here. It felt like I was eating ramen back in Japan. The miso ramen was rich and reasonably priced, so I decided to come here again. 🍜

Good food with a friendly clerk! It's delicious. It's mostly Europeans who line up for it, and it has a clean taste. The broth is moderately rich, the noodles are well-seasoned, and the large pieces of char siu are a plus.

Unfortunately, we're not from here, but it was incredibly delicious and the staff were super friendly. I highly recommend it. Make a reservation on the weekend. It's unfortunately small, so I deducted one star. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.

Yesterday I went for lunch with my friends. This was the first time I got a seat after 3 times. The previous times were always full and had to wait quite a long time. Ramen (Miso, Shoyu) Chashu has always been my favorite dish from the beginning. The price is very cheap, only about 11€/bowl. So I had to order an extra portion of meat and egg. The egg was cooked very well. The pork was grilled on both sides. The drinks are also very affordable. The staff are nice and knowledgeable about food. In general, everything here is very cheap for the area in Heidelberg. However, I don't like the broth and Barrol onions very much. (in my opinion). The waiting time is a bit long, if you only get 1 hour Pause, it's not a good choice. I will come back many times <3

Honestly, it doesn't taste as good as the noodles I make at home, especially the soy sauce noodles, which are extremely salty. Two Japanese friends later tried the restaurant and came to the same conclusion: inauthentic and not tasty. The decor is nice, but the seating is quite cramped. Furthermore, the prices aren't exactly cheap.

Super delicious food! We weren't disappointed. On Friday evening, there was no chance of getting in. The line in front of the rather small restaurant was long. So we made a reservation for Saturday, and that was a good thing. Because the next day it was packed again.

It's probably the best Japanese restaurant in Heidelberg, and it's also quite popular. The selection is diverse, and the prices are surprisingly low, in my opinion. Making a reservation in advance is always a good idea, if possible. I've been here several times and will definitely be back again!

Dear East Asians, This udon is too salty and sweet for East Asian palates. The broth tastes more like an excessive amount of soy sauce rather than a traditional katsuobushi-based broth. If you’re expecting a taste of home or the authentic flavors of Japan, you will likely be very disappointed. If you're still desperate for udon, be sure to ask for water, as you'll desperately need it while eating.

During a short trip to Heidelberg, my wife and I visited this very, very good ramen bar on the evening of September 11th. Even when we made a reservation at lunchtime, there was a line, and the place was completely packed. The same thing happened in the evening. The food was very authentic and wonderfully tasty. What we really liked was the friendly guy who greeted waiting guests at the entrance with immense patience and calm, always trying to check the large reservation book to see if there was still room for walk-ins. He quickly got a look around the dining room and found a solution. We were seated at the table right by the entrance. You don't find people like that very often in restaurants. Simply fantastic! We'll definitely be back next time. Keep it up :-).

Great food, truly delicious. And the staff are really friendly too. The two stars deducted for the ambiance are only because it's very loud when it's full, which it usually is. That could certainly be improved. You usually leave with a headache after eating. They always do, too; every dish is delicious, quick, and served with a smile.

Unfortunately, the noodles were instant noodles from an Asian store. If you're going to a noodle store, please make your own noodles!

We usually go to the Min Ramenbar in Karlsruhe. But this one is just as good. They belong together, too. The vegetarian ramen is super delicious. I think a reservation is essential, as it gets very busy.

The cold soba noodles from the summer menu were absolutely excellent! Unfortunately, the table was still sticky after the waiter had wiped it down. Unheard of in a Japanese restaurant. Next time, we'll try the ramen.

I really enjoy going to Min Ramen Bar – both in Heidelberg and Karlsruhe. If I'm short on time, I also order takeout, which always works without a hitch. I love ramen, and the quality, portion sizes, and wide variety of dishes here never fail to impress me. The value for money is also absolutely spot on. A restaurant I can wholeheartedly recommend!

A very nice ramen bar in itself, but the execution wasn't particularly successful. At first, we had to wait 20 minutes for our reserved table, which was still occupied, and then we were seated at a dirty table. The day before, when we made the reservation, we were told that we could only sit there for 1.5 hours and that the table would be needed again after that. They only had online tickets, which I find particularly unpleasant for people who don't have a cell phone. The service was okay, and the food did arrive quickly, but they only did the bare minimum. You sat only 5-10 cm away from the next table, and the food and drinks were neither prepared with care nor decorated in any way, which is a shame because the ramen itself wasn't badly prepared and actually tasted good. I had a dirty spoon, so I asked the waiter about it, and he simply washed it and brought it back to me. It was far too loud, especially with the loud music, far too crowded, and above all, very warm in the place. All in all, unfortunately only a 2/10...you shouldn't fall for the good reviews here, the store tries hard but can't keep the promises it makes in the reviews.

This was sooooo yummy!! We ordered the vegan curry udon with tofu, incredible. It’s pretty small inside, so you have to be early or make a reservation. We had to sit at the bar which was fine, but after that it was full!

We wandered aimlessly through the city, letting the offerings sink into our empty stomachs—and what doesn't suddenly appear, completely inconspicuously, in a side street? We were seated right away, even though we were told there would otherwise be a wait of about 30 minutes; we got the menu by phone. We both ate the miso ramen – she with tofu, I with pork. It was pretty much the best tofu we've ever tasted. The pork melted in your mouth, lightly grilled. The broth was delicious. For me, it was the best ramen I've ever had in Germany. They also served delicious homemade lemonade. We left feeling so full and satisfied. Thanks for the great food!

The best tonkotsu ramen we've ever had, always accompanied by a delicious extra portion of chashu. Unfortunately, you won't find anything comparable in Hamburg. The food, service, and location are absolutely top-notch. We'll be back again and again, even if it's far away. Be sure to make a reservation.
