Mevlana Restaurant in Nürnberg

I went out to eat with my family on Friday, and I can only say it was the last time. Years ago, too, it was completely different and much better. Now I see the quality of the food has declined. The meat was very dry and seasoned.

The taste of the meat is good. But the sauce used in the couplet ruins the dish. They added a different spice to that sauce. It is not eaten.

The food here is great and the atmosphere is pleasant. However, there is a need for discussion when it comes to service: ordering is quick, but it can take a while for the food to reach the table - expect a wait of 20 to 30 minutes. Even sitting at the open window for a quick kebab is a drag, which wasn't the case before. Especially the guy who makes the kebabs is extremely slow.

The employees are very rude people who have nothing to do with service and gastronomy.

Even though it was packed, the service was quick and very friendly. The food was great and not expensive. I'd love to come back next time.

Honestly, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We went to this Turkish restaurant in Nuremberg and it was just disappointing. The food came incomplete - we had to ask several times where the rest of the dishes were, and each time they said: 'Oh, we forgot.' We also had to ask for the sauces that we had specially ordered because they simply didn't bring them. In the end they said they couldn't resubmit it. The service was really poor, the staff was unfriendly and uninterested. I really advise anyone who goes to this restaurant to be careful because they don't bring you everything. You have to constantly chase after people to get what you ordered. For me it was definitely the last time - absolutely not recommended.

I ordered a mixed grill plate at this restaurant. The meat was brought, but in significantly smaller quantities than was expected according to the menu. The starter was also noticeably small - compared to what was served to other guests, we clearly felt disadvantaged. When we politely pointed this out, the waiter responded rudely and disrespectfully. Instead of offering a solution, he directly told us not to come next time. This is an absolute no-go for a restaurant. Our conclusion: rude service, unfair portions, no customer orientation - very disappointing and not recommended.

You eat Adana kebab, the meat is good, but there is no onion, tomato, parsley, sumac, etc. Moreover, they put cucumber and iceberg in it, we saw and experienced how to disgrace a dish....

Unfortunately a disappointment today. Service, especially a service person who served us, walked around like a sleeping pill. No please, no thank you... no attention to the guest whatsoever. Two dishes also came cold. I didn't feel comfortable, it's a shame. We love eating out and spending money accordingly, but you also have to give the guest the feeling that you enjoy coming here. Anyway, have a nice holiday.

I can really only recommend the restaurant. The food was really great. Service very friendly and helpful. The chai after the meal was really a great thing. We felt absolutely comfortable and will definitely come back.

The food is delicious, in fact, among all the meatballs I ate in Turkey, the meatballs I ate here are in the top 10. In terms of variety, it is as good as a kebab restaurant in Turkey. However, the service is a bit poor due to occupancy. When you walked in, no one even said hello or welcome.

17.90 a single bottle for Adana is a lot of money

It was the first time I came to this restaurant for breakfast and it was the last time, they brought Jam, Nutella, honey, potatoes and sausage mixed together like garbage. I asked the waitress politely, "Do you have another plate? Do you bring it like this?", "What she said is, 'eat it or not, that's the way it is for us.' I left the breakfast as it was, paid the bill and left, I never saw such disgrace. I would never recommend it to anyone.!!!

The quality of the food remained in the 90s.

Good food but very unpleasant waiters!!! We ate and drank tea after dinner and all the dishes with leftover food were on the table all the time. Nobody cleaned up while we were there and we didn't ask if we had any further requests.

Had dinner at Mevlana in Gostenhof yesterday. I have to say, the Adana Kebab was really tasty, spicy and juicy. There was also fresh pide bread and a small salad. Priced completely ok for the portion. ​ The store is busy, so it's a bit noisy, but that's part of it. Service was friendly, but sometimes you had to wave to get attention.​

For sure never again. It was one of the worse Turkish food i have ever had beside the horrible service.

We've been there before, it's a nice restaurant, the food is great, but when we went for breakfast, the lady working treated us as if we were eating for free. We asked for tea, she was speeding up, so the employees had to be friendly. If I wanted a nice breakfast, the bill was no problem. I already told them that many people say the bill is expensive. I don't look at the bill, I look at the quality and service.

I have known this restaurant for over ten years and have visited it regularly - at least once a year. Unfortunately, I have seen the quality continually decline over the years. Meanwhile the meat is as tough as rubber and the taste is completely disappointing. With the Beyti, only the tomato sauce was noticeable - there was no trace of aroma from the meat itself. In addition, the portions have now become significantly smaller. This was definitely the last visit for me. By the way: The neighboring shop called Frankonya, which also belongs to the same owner, also leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered three different desserts there - and all three were simply miserable.

Hello Everyone, I was in Nuremberg for 5 days in the last week of March. During this period, I had 3 dinners at Mevlana Restaurant. Frankly, I was very pleased. Especially the warmth and helpfulness of our waiter "Orhan Bey" was amazing. It is a place where even people like me who are obsessed with Hygiene can easily eat. In short, if you go to Nuremberg, I recommend you to stop by.

One star for Fanta. The food is tasteless.Rice is tasteless.The salad is a joke, no fresh ingredients. I had a kebab plate, the meat is good. The employees are nice and quick.

We were there today for Sugar Festival with six people. The food arrived cold because it is brought up from the kitchen downstairs. You could understand that, since everything is full in Bayram. However, I have to say that I was very disappointed with the prices and the portion size, the prices are exaggerated and the portions are very small. The staff is very unfriendly and stressed, you get the feeling like it's mass processing. I won't go there anymore.

The grilled and appetizer varieties were delicious, but the stews were not good, especially the beans were very bad, I wish the rice had stayed a little longer, it would have turned into cake.

Employees don't respect with customer

Worst kebab in a long time. Flesh completely dried out, like cardboard. The kebab tastes stale. The service was unfriendly. Too bad, I'll avoid the store.

We had heard of it before, so we decided to go when we thought about it. Their iskender was quite good, the chicken skewer was soft and delicious, I can't say the same for the lahmacun. "I say this as someone who is used to pistachio lahmacun, it tasted tasteless to me." The prices are a little above the market, but this is normal because you are receiving service. The place is nice and the waiters are attentive. We liked it, we will come again.

When asked whether the food was halal, you had to think about it first and stuttered. We then asked for a certificate and they said quite aggressively and unfriendly “if you don’t trust me you can leave”. We then went to the neighboring restaurant with 5 people (they were great). Seemed very dubious and untrustworthy to us. Someone who really offers Halal would never hide it like that.

The flavors here are excellent, especially the doner kebab, the service is fast, as in Türkiye, the hygiene is great, thank you, everything is very nice.

We usually used to go and eat, but lately, Mevlana has turned into a place where fasting people turn it into a coffeehouse after iftar. What is a seed, my friend, people who eat in one month what they did not eat in eleven months, if you ask, we are fasting :) Anyway, I hope not to see people cracking seeds in the place where we come to eat, dear Mevlana officials, best wishes.

We were here an hour before closing time. The staff was still very nice and friendly. We could eat there. The food was very good and the portions were large. I recommend.

Let Orhan serve you, he is the man of honor of Mevlana and leaves nothing to chance. Quality is Champions League here. I had Yayla soup and a turkey kebab for dinner. Incredibly delicious.

The shop is small compared to the demand, we waited in a long line at the door while we were at the fair in Messe last week. We expect the business owner to invest :)

The kebab sellers don't understand German or don't want to understand you, don't pay attention to any extras, don't listen to you at all, it's happened several times and it takes a long time to get a normal kebab because they're constantly chatting.

The mixed grill was absolutely delicious - perfectly prepared, tasty and generously portioned. The service was outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff making the dining experience even better. I can only recommend this place for a fantastic meal!

I come from North Rhine-Westphalia, you just can't compare Turkish food in North Rhine-Westphalia. Prices are awesome but it's not bad I ordered a mixed kebab plate, everything unseasoned, cold and a little rice Bulgur as if they were eating a small child. The meat was too little, 3 pieces of chicken, a lame cutlet without Adana, a small meat skewer from the freezer, burnt The 4.5 star rating is not justified; it is the only shop in the area Better go eat somewhere else Staff very nice But I don't want to eat again Bread was so cold like yesterday's bread was served

We are absolutely thrilled! Were there for the first time today - great service and the food is absolutely world class! I had to add more salt, but I generally eat very spicy foods - not everyone likes that! Vegetables are fresh, meat is tender and not dry at all and all in all the food is very tasty! We will definitely come to Nuremberg again for that :)

I ordered a kebab plate and a kebab to take away last night. We ate it at home and noticed that the meat wasn't raw in many places. Unfortunately half of it has already been eaten. We had stomach pains and cramps all night long and unfortunately that goes with it...

I've been there more often in the past, but recently (2024) I had the impression that the service and food quality had deteriorated somewhat. I may be mistaken too! Definitely always worth a visit when your stomach calls for Turkish cuisine!

The food tastes very, very good. If you go on the weekend, you can expect it to be very crowded. However, you can wait on site and will be assigned a place as quickly as possible. The waiters are all always super nice and accommodating. You are also served salad and bread at the beginning. Highly recommended as a meat lover!

Even though I didn't have a reservation, they helped me. I ate lamb wraps and blanch and it was amazing. Mr. Orhan is a very attentive waiter, I recommend him for his taste and attention.

The place is not that big but not that little. The food prices are ok, not the worst but also not the best. The food is, however, very tasty! Things are fresh and originally Turkish. I can recommend this place for a chilled meeting with friends, nothing fancy but more of a familiar place. And that's very nice to have!

It's minus -3 degrees outside so we thought we'd go to Mevlana's and have some soup in the morning and warm ourselves up. Where we went in we noticed that it wasn't any warmer than outside. When asked, the calf man said that they don't turn the heater on (they don't use it) Okkkeyyyy,,, why not? I also noticed that many guests were sitting there with jackets. We got up and left the restaurant.

There are problems with them every time, that's really not normal. I asked them if they could turn on the heater because it's minus two degrees and it's so cold in the store, but they said no. Last time we were there we complained that the food was cold - even then they just argued. Never again and would not recommend

Waiting for food service and a seat takes away your appetite

Bad, dry meat with loveless, tasteless side dishes. This restaurant only benefits from the location and few alternatives. Doesn't deserve the prizes. The service is very unfriendly and you often have to ask.

Wegen hohen Andrangs mussten wir erst etwas warten , wir waren 6 Personen. Es hat sich gelohnt. Zuvorkommende Bedienung, sehr gutes Essen, angemessene Preise. Am nächsten Morgen waren wir dann gleich nochmal zum Frühstück dort. Auch da gab es eine große Auswahl an Speisen und auch reichlich. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit allem. Teşekkür ederiz!

Good place to eat with your family! I tried Etli Ekmek. It was very tasty! The place gets very crowded after 5pm.

This was my second and last attempt at this restaurant. I had a pide with cheese for €9.90! Unfortunately, it didn't taste that good and getting full was out of the question given the small dimensions.

The soups we ordered were very cold. When we asked them to heat them up, they forgot the soups and it came boiling. The doner kebab on the plate was also ice cold. We couldn't taste and enjoy the food.

Unfortunately the worst Turkish food I ate in Nuremberg. The starters (meze) were probably all canned goods. Unfortunately, the main courses aren't any better either. We just had dinner, we ordered from the bearded guy with a cloth tie on his head, we said hello at first, he didn't take it, he saw us enter, he didn't react!! We were looking at the people coming and going, hoping that maybe someone would ask for it, no one said anything, we sat down, a card was thrown in front of us, the man with the beard who took the order said, "Hi, it's not there again in the morning, what do you want?" He went, brought it according to his wishes, took it down and left again.

This is our favorite Turkish restaurant in Nurnberg. Having lived in the TRNC for nearly 10 years we recognize quality Turkish food and without any doubt Mevlana serves the best Turkish food in Southern Germany
