Yesterday we sat in the beer garden, the atmosphere was cozy, the food was very good, the service was excellent (a big thank you to Traudl 😀). We'll definitely be back!!

Simple and tasty food. Quite relaxing with a pleasant ambiance. The waiter was very friendly. The only issues were the wasps on the terrace and the walnut shells in the strudel.

Even though the weather was nice, we sat inside because of the authentic atmosphere of the place. I'm glad we did so. The schnitzel was delicious, the potato salad on the side was amazing, we asked for extra. The taste lingered on our palate. If you want dessert, I'd say the portions are big.

A little expensive. My friends had the steak which was incredible. Veal schnitzel a little underwhelming. Potato dumplings were the best ones I had in Germany!!! Traditional Bavarian design. Nice staff. Was fun to experience classic German food :)

The beef tartare, for example, is excellent, and the schnitzels are also very tasty!

Everything is great except for the bees 🐝 on the terrace that don't stop hovering while you eat 😅😂

The food was good and tasty, the prices are fair and reflect good quality ratio, but the (in)hospitality of the employees was disappointing. We felt uncomfortable and would not go back there.

Even though it is next to a touristic place l, the prices are as anywhere else in Munich. I didn't find it expensive. The service is very friendly and attentive (they speak English). Waiting time was quite short. The ambient is very nice, not loud at all. The food was super tasty and definitely enough. I got the 1/4 duck, and I will definitely recommend it. Very typical Bavarian food, I loved it.

It took them 30 minutes to ask us what we wanted to eat, and after 40 more minutes without serving the food, and seeing that 4 tables that had arrived later were with their food, we left without eating. A shame.

Lovely restaurant with tables in a shaded courtyard and in a beautiful conservatory. Many Bavarian dishes available, including some vegetarian ones; obazda, tofu schnitzel, cheesy noodles, potato salad... The staff were efficient, but charged us for service AND expected a tip!

Everything we were looking for to get a taste of Bavaria. The food and atmosphere were only exceed by our server, and all at a good value.

Super good food, except for the potato salad. Is from the bucket with pure cut cucumber slices. Unfortunately. I specifically asked and ordered “homemade” potato salad. But he wasn't.

Service skills were lacking. Disappointed with the waitress. Especially at the end when she never came back to give me my change after I paid with cash. I included a tip but she took more and brought me the receipt instead and never came back. And we couldn't wait any longer because we had to leave to get the tram across the street. She was very short and unwelcoming. We had some questions about the menu but she just repeated what the menu said which didn't help. Not good character traits of a waitress. We needed the English menu version and needed WiFi to view it. We asked for the WiFi password twice because it didn't work. Then she typed it in finally and walked away but it was still incorrect. We asked another waitress who was younger and she was happily helpful. We mentioned my birthday to our waitress and got a weird look and no reply, but when mentioned to the other younger waitress who brought our drinks, she said Happy Birthday. Complete contrast. Maybe the older waitress was having a bad day?? Food was fine. Nothing wrong there. We got the soup with liver dumpling, the duck and the apple fritters and hausgemachter kaiserschmarrn for the two nights we dined. Everything tasted great! No complaints there. Just the waitress. First time we got served by the lady who is on the poster and that was a better experience. But won't go back because it was uncomfortable this time and felt unwelcomed. Maybe it's because we don't speak German? I don't know. It W's just odd behaviour from a waitress.

We stumbled upon this place after visiting Nymphenburg Palace. The weather was nice enough that it gave us a chance to have al fresco dining. Friendly staff. Plenty of spaces to sit. I had the 6 sausages and sauerkraut. Only downside I saw was there was no English menu. You need to scan a QR code to get the English menu. A bit of a letdown if you’re not tech savvy. All in all the experience was really nice. It is a nice place to eat after visiting Nymphenburg Palace.

Restaurant very close to Nympheburg Castle, Bavarian dishes but also other things, probably not the best in Munich but I liked it, I also found the service good, the waitress was friendly. Augustiner beer, schnitzel and strudel to finish, all discreet.

As soon as I ordered roast pork, 30 seconds later a soup-like dish arrived because the sauce wasn't thick at all and the plate was almost full with 2 measly pieces of tasteless, cheap meat with a huge amount of fat. The crust was made of Krupp steel. What the hell did the chef learn there? Definitely not cooking. Canteen for homeless people would not afford such an impudence. Never again, to destroy such a simple dish to such an extent requires a special talent or hatred of customers.

Halle was perfect, great ambience, as expected, fast service, delicious food at a good price.

TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! I do not recommend anyone to eat here. The location is handy for getting to Nymphemburg but the food is tacky. Furthermore, after ordering the apple juice I immediately changed my mind by asking for a beer but the waitress couldn't change the order. Absurd! The roast pork was cheap, with poor quality meat and plenty of nice fried rind with a rubbery ball of potatoes on the side. The Monaco style schnitzel was disgusting too. Nauseous. In addition to paying, you expect a tip (..as if we were in the United States). When we didn't give it, the waitress, clearly not German, treated us like starving people, became grumpy and laughed in our face in front of her colleague, greeting us with a pout. More than a restaurant, it felt like being in kindergarten with certain behaviors. 🤢🤮

Beautiful inn and super good Bavarian food! We've walked past it 100 times but somehow never been inside. My wife had cream mushrooms and I had roast pork. Service was great too!

After a visit to Nymphenburg Castle, we stopped in the beer garden at the Metzgerwirt. Great ambience. The Kaiserschmarrn is super tasty.

A wonderful place to go for lunch or dinner. Always a ,ost enjoyable experience!

Food very tasty. Unfortunately Schnitzel was a bit of a very branded shoe sole but it still worked. Service well... the lady was quite friendly at first but there wasn't a smile there either. When we paid later and only tipped 9% instead of 10%, she evaporated without saying “Thank you, goodbye.” with the worst expression on her face. The ambience was good, but there was always a lot of draft where we sat when we opened the door. It's tasty but it doesn't have to be again.

A Traditional Bavarian restaurant, Metzgerwirt is very conveniently located just across the street from the Nymphenberg Palace grounds. The menu is a bit larger than most with many classic options to choose. We sat in the outdoor garden area which is sizable and has excellent shade. The restaurant is very well maintained. Our food arrived in a reasonable time and was very good.

A really great eatery. The food was extremely tasty. The furnishings, stylish and bourgeois. The winter garden was really beautiful.

A wonderful and authentic Bavarian restaurant very near the beautiful and impressive Nymphenburg palace. The food is consistently of the highest quality. I recommend the delicious Schweinsbraten and the Münchner Schnitzel. Both excellent. Accompanied by Augustiner beer. Our server gave excellent advice and was very friendly. I can’t wait to go back to Munich to eat at Metgerwirt again.

Pleasant surprise to find this restaurant, near the Nymphenburg Palace, apart from the interior area they have a very nice terrace, in the front of the restaurant you can also have a beer while enjoying the rays of the sun (if there is one) the dishes are very delicious and the very good attention.

Waitress friendly enough at first, but quite disappointed in the end. We ordered new drinks in the middle of the meal while we were eating and after 20 minutes and the end of our dishes, the waitress, who had not brought them back, forced us to take them. When it was time to pay, she was rude about the fact that we didn't want to tip. Tipping was out of the question when we paid for two drinks we didn't want. Quite nice decor but quite expensive for what it is.

Pleasant restaurant with a garden. Traditional menu, good value for money for Munich. The service was, however, rather unpleasant: we ordered beers, which did not arrive after more than 40 minutes, so I asked to cancel this order since our dishes were finished and we were in a hurry. The waitress accuses us of having refused the beers brought by another waitress (which was false, the other waitress having confirmed the error), and tells us that we are obliged to honor the order. Finally, when we pay, this same waitress is surprised and asks us to account when we don't leave a tip (and for good reason...).

The perfect place to experience a piece of south-german tradition. Portions are big, the quality of food also astonishing, the vibe around so cultural… Prices also gut in comparison to other regional restaurants around. Nothing more to say. Honestly recommended.

We drank a few beers in the nice beer garden. The service was very nice and attentive, the food at the neighboring tables looked delicious. If you prefer to sit on the street, you have a nice view of the Nymphenburg Canal. We were there on a sunny Sunday and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Very nice restaurant close to the Nymphenburg, inside in castle style, covered and open terrace. Traditional Bavarian cuisine at a great price. Very nice service. You can also buy food in the takeaway window. Strongly recommend.

We stopped here on the way to Nymphenburg Palace. It was sunny and we could sit outside. The food was very tasty and we were served very nicely.

A traditional Bavarian restaurant in a prime location, close to Nymphenburg Castle. The staff was friendly, the food was totally wrong. Sometimes without any hint of taste, the sauces or side dishes like the spinach were so oversalted that you couldn't taste anything other than salt. And this applies to all four dishes we ordered. I can only assume that the chef doesn't taste the food, otherwise he would inevitably notice. I'm 60 years old and have been visiting the restaurant for many years... Conclusion: The food wasn't good, but very expensive... It's a shame and a disgrace for Munich. I am very disappointed... Walter Bollwein

Was just there for a coffee before a doctor's appointment. Therefore no rating for the food. But it looks to me like one of the typical gems in Munich. Nice places on the street to drink coffee. Nice little beer garden, rustic interior, as befits a butcher. I'd love to come back and bring more time with me.

I don't comment often but I really liked it here. We went there by chance after visiting the castle. Super Tofu Schnitzel (basket). Too good to try the local specialties in a vegetarian version. Excellent desserts. Great decoration. Thanks again !

The Schäufele in the lunch menu was nice and soft but not a highlight. The sauce was very thick, but that didn't make it taste much better. The herb was very good! My friend's pork medallions were very creamy, yes it said cream sauce but it was just cream. Location was nice and the service was very nice.

We live in the neighborhood and for years I thought that the Metzgerwirt was more frequented by tourists and offered corresponding quality. Not even close! Great service from Traudl, excellent food and the highlight was the tomahawk steak, which will hopefully appear more often on the weekly menu. Oh yes, and the prices are not a tourist rip-off either.

After our walk in Nymphenburg, we didn't want to go to the Metzgerwirt...as we were from Munich, we thought it was a "tourist stall". We're glad we went in after all. The food was great, nice traditional ambience (eaten in the Ludwig Stüberl) and Traudl's service was top notch. Keep it up!

Many thanks to Maria, the most courteous and charming waitress I have ever seen. We had various requests for changes to the side dishes with our orders and even the duck was carved in the kitchen and served removed from the bone. CHAPEAU! The roast pork with delicious crust, the Kasspatzn delicious - simply unique!

Generally, I was satisfied, the food and beer were OK, but the homemade lemonade...? Certainly not! The artificial juice added only caused digestive problems, I couldn't finish it.
