Haidhauser Augustiner in München

I walked past this place for years but never went inside. On a cold winter day I popped in after work for a beer and fries. Both were delicious. What made me smile though was the atmosphere inside. It was very cozy and friendly feeling...It felt like a neighborhood Alpine Hut.

Good food, the prices are justified. It was a bit noisy in the restaurant, but you could still have a conversation without having to shout. Highly recommended!

These pubs are wonderful because you share the dinner moment with everyone, as you sit at tables with other people and make friends. The staff is knowledgeable and quick in delivering the dishes.

A very German restaurant with friendly staff, despite the language barrier. We each ordered a schnitzel and we got generous portions. Very good food with good side dishes. Reasonable price for the amount of food you get on the plate.

Extremely rustic – a typical Bavarian inn. Large portions – incredibly delicious roast pork with crackling, where they certainly didn't skimp on the crackling. The meat falls apart when you cut into it with a fork and is superbly seasoned. Roast pork with crackling doesn't get any better than this – the best I've ever eaten. The service is friendly and attentive. Online reservations are easy and highly recommended! Great location right next to the Ostbahnhof (East Train Station) – yet the prices are fair. The restrooms are modern and very clean. We'll definitely be back!

Great food and excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere of Haidhauser Augustiner. Some of the best schnitzel we’ve ever eaten.

I had the goulash with pork and spaetzle, it was rich, warm, and flavorful, perfect for a cold night and accompanied by a good dunkel beer. The restaurant was warm and busy but had more of a community feel than just an overwhelming crowd, a little noisy but we could still have a good conversation. I’d recommend getting a reservation if you’re going on a popular night.

I've been coming here for years. The food is usually delicious, and the service is quick and always friendly. I like to arrive around 11 a.m. because it gets very crowded and, above all, noisy after noon. Reservations are recommended. Dear Haidi, please keep up the good work! :=)

The Wiener schnitzel was a disaster; the thick meat was tough and inedible. As a concession, they charged a small portion for it... a whopping 30% discount for a dish that only took two bites. Otherwise, everything was loud and very cramped. Not recommended.

A disaster. After getting a table in the middle of the room, I had to endure the waiters repeatedly slamming menu boards onto my seat and bumping into my chair. After another table finally became available, I was able to move. Only to be met with unfamiliar table neighbors and a strange glass without asking. Once in a while, never again. The food looked good, though.

Just had dinner there tonight. Two Dunkel Wiess biers and a Steiger Schnitzel. Can I say WOW. AMAZING food. The bier was great, server and bartenders awesome. Will go back again before I leave. I have some German language skills but they got my accent pretty quick and all spoke amazing English. If you want to go somewhere and not feel intimidated if you German isn't great. This is the place. Make a reservation....cuz i by 18:00 they were turning people away on a Monday night. Yes...the food was that good. Such a cool place! On my list of favorites in Munich!

The food was very good, but two people were charged for two beers too many, citing shift changes and why you didn't even make a mark.

I was traveling alone, and they immediately arranged a table for me in the very busy restaurant. Super friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, and a delicious Augustiner beer. Again, reservations are recommended if there are several people. Highly recommended!

Very good food with very good service.

The food (roast pork) was nothing special. The fried potatoes weren't tasty at all. The "highlight" was the service. Despite the almost empty outdoor area, we had to wait almost 10 minutes before anyone even came. When we asked for a high chair, we were told to get one ourselves from inside. Luckily, there are other good Bavarian restaurants in Haidhausen.

For me, these were always the best Kässpatzen in Munich, as they used to be made with a lot of flavorful cheese. Recently, unfortunately, they've become very bland, with little and tasteless cheese. What a shame.

I always have muted expectations regarding the quality of the food at brewery restaurants. But here: fantastic! The spinach dumplings were very tasty and garnished with fresh hard cheese, and the Leberkäse (meatloaf) was served with homemade potato salad and beautifully garnished. The service was quick and friendly despite the packed house. The noise level in the lovely dining room was naturally high, but that's to be expected. I'd happily go back.

We were there for lunch. A delicious salad with turkey strips, spring rolls, and dip for €10.90 was part of the lunch menu. Burgers, currywurst, and schnitzel, each with fries, also for €10.90. Super friendly service! We'll be back! :)

Loved this place. The service was impeccable, food was delicious. Our waiter basically made all the recommendations of beer, food and dessert. It was all incredible and mind blowing. Very home cooked and neighborhood vibes. Next to a nice park too!

And all the smells from the kitchen come directly into the dining room. At first, it smells like delicious food (it almost makes your eyes sting), and at the end, when they clean, you can smell every cleaning product. If that's fixed, it'll get five stars.

Bavarian brewery located in a lively neighborhood. The liveliness is typical of German breweries. The atmosphere is great! The service is a bit slow due to the large number of customers, and the food is average.

We liked the ambiance, the beer too, and the food quality varied. The schnitzel was good, the roast rather bland, and the dumplings, in particular, tasted reheated.

The food tastes good, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the servers are friendly and efficient. What bothered us were the bench seats, which were cramped and difficult to sit down in, and the fact that it was very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation.

A few years ago, we frequented the Haidhauser Augustiner, mostly only on weekends, but now we're both retired and enjoy the lunch menu outside on weekdays when the weather's nice. We also feel comfortable inside. We're thrilled with the price, quality, and quantity of the food, and the price of the beer (Augustiner) as well.

The Augustiner in Haidhausen is highly recommended. The food is very good quality and they're also flexible when it comes to special requests. Not to mention the good beer. And the service is very pleasant, friendly, and competent. We'll be happy to come back.

Wir waren vor ein paar Jahren öfter im Haidhauser Augustiner meist nur am Wochenende, aber nun sind wir Beide in Rente und genießen die Mittagskarte werktags. Wir sind begeistert von der Auswahl, der Qualität und der Quantität des Essens. Bei schönem Wetter draußen und auch drinnen fühlen wir uns wohl. Die Mittagspreise sind sehr akzeptabel und der Bierpreis (Augustiner) sowieso.

We went to the Haidhauser Augustiner as a family and had a truly lovely evening. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and typically Bavarian – just as you'd expect. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. But what really made the evening special was our waitress, Keti. She was incredibly funny, attentive, and warm – simply perfect. You could tell she loves her job. Thanks to her, we felt truly at home, and she truly made our evening special. We were absolutely thrilled and will definitely come back!

This afternoon, we stopped by the Haidhauser Augustiner for dinner. We received a warm welcome. Our beer was ice-cold. The Käsespätzle and Wiener Schnitzel were very, very good. We'll definitely be back.

Great place, a real surprise, I found it by accident and was delighted. In a full restaurant without a reservation, the waiters found me a seat and did the impossible. It's really the service and the food that together create an excellent atmosphere at a high level. I'll be back soon.

Roast potatoes undercooked, cold, and unsalted. Salt and pepper available at only one of 10 tables. Beer poorly poured.

The older waitress was very strange. On our second visit, I asked for the bill and asked if I should go with her to the bar to get it. She replied in a very rude tone, "Wait, I don't have a printer here." It was just a regular question. On the third day, a male waiter served us. He was nice, but the same older waitress warned him, saying, "They're nice, but they don't leave a tip." When paying, she specifically looked at the other waiter's bill and commented, "They haven't left a tip in three days." We only returned there so many times because the food was so good; that old waitress ruined the whole atmosphere and our desire to return. I didn't realize I was in the USA, not Germany, where tipping is mandatory. Besides, she didn't deserve a penny for talking back like that. I don't know where these demanding people come from. What a failure, that woman. We were there on July 11, July 10, and July 9, and unfortunately, that older woman was on shift every day.

Nice restaurant, came on the recommendation of a friend. Two of the three waiters were very nice, mine unfortunately wasn't on the ball and rather bored. Beer was good, food rather poor. The knuckle actually tasted OK, as did the dumplings and salad. But what's the best thing about a knuckle if you're going to treat yourself? Of course, the crispy crust. Unfortunately, mine was soggy, tough, and inedible, and the sauce was lukewarm at best. The waiter didn't seem to care much when I paid. A shame.

Even without a reservation, you can get a table in the sun at lunchtime. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Perhaps one or two more vegan dishes could be added to the menu.

We sat outside, nice quiet street, and ambience looked nice too. Food and service were good, if you are around Orleansplatz it's a good place to drop by. Reasonably priced too.

The location is nice, but it's quite cramped and noisy. Especially at the long, wide table, it's difficult to have a conversation with the person sitting opposite you because the noise level is so loud. The food is good, but we found it lacking in flavor. Vegetarian dishes like Käsespätzle and Gnocchi, in particular, aren't recommended. The service is friendly and quick. Plus point for families: There's a well-equipped changing area in the restroom.

Terrible service. After we were seated, no waiter came. Even after repeated requests, we were ignored. The tables next to us were served, oddly enough. In the 15 minutes we waited, we noticed that most of the plates were returned half-full. Absolutely not recommended. The service at the Italian restaurant next door is far better.
