Excellent little restaurant with German favorite dishes.

Authentic, delicious, Bavarian – an absolute highlight! If you're looking for genuine Bavarian (and Balkan) cuisine in a cozy atmosphere, this family-run inn is the perfect place. You feel right at home the moment you step inside. The ambiance is incredibly cozy and traditionally Bavarian – exactly as you'd hope. Even though the restaurant was busy, thanks to the efficient and exceptionally friendly staff, we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. The team's years of experience are immediately apparent; the service is both efficient and warm. The menu leaves nothing to be desired. The selection of traditional dishes is impressively large, complemented by daily specials. The portions are huge, and the food tastes simply fantastic – just like Grandma's! Best beer... Authentic food, top-notch service, and unbeatable value for money. I'll definitely be back!

decent food, terrible service. we didn’t have cash so we MADE SURE they took card payment before sitting down at the table, but when we asked to pay they said the card machine stopped working so cash only. i had to walk for 30min to find an atm that works. the two service staff were even chatting at the door and blocking my way when i got back to the table. made my dinner very inconvenient, but ZERO apology, not even one “sorry”. the staff even had the audacity to tip for herself while the service doesn’t deserve even one coin of tipping.

Every part of the pig is good. And in this case, especially the boiled ham hock.

The food is more like a Balkan restaurant than a Bavarian inn. Check the bill very carefully!

Typical Munich restaurant, excellent staff and excellent service. I had the opportunity to be served by Sten, who was among the best waiters in most of the restaurants I've tried. The dishes, of course, are typical and abundant. I highly recommend them, especially for the beer, which is excellent. 7/5

Most likely the worst lunch I have had in Germany over the last 5 years. Normally the touristic places still serve decent food but this is not the case here where the traditional foods does not resemble their 'real' counterparts.

The food and drinks were very good. Even though there were many guests that evening, we were served quickly and friendly. I also like Augustiner beer, and the restaurant is easily accessible.

I just went to this establishment and found a huge glass inside of my coffee. Thank God I notice the chunk and bits in my mouth before swallowing it. I didn’t even want the coffee but you’re forced to order a drink and pay in cash. This establishment only removed the $2 something coffee from my bill instead of my covering my entire bill. They also still had the audacity to be mad when I didn’t tip.. so I did because it was awkward.. but seriously??? No one checked up on me instead of my waitress. She informed the other workers and they just shrugged it off. Insane. Be careful. Check your glasses and food.

Excellent dining experience! The food is hearty and appears genuine. We sat next to a local who we asked for suggestions. He comes here often. I got a radler as a beverage, which was a nice addition to my meal. I’ve had them before. The establishment was clean, well lit, and very inviting. The service was good, however, I believe it wasn’t great due to a language barrier. She spoke little English, and there was no small talk. She was very attentive to our needs. They take cash only. For two entrees, three beverages, and one dessert, we paid €50. Very reasonable and a great experience overall!

Excellent restaurant with traditional dishes. The food is plentiful and tasty, with truly excellent desserts. The atmosphere is the highlight of the place, where you can breathe in the Bavarian atmosphere, with waiters dressed in traditional attire and the interiors retaining their original appearance. It's inside a brewery, so the beer is very fresh and excellent. Highly recommended.

It was a very good dinner! The spaghetti carbonarra, the pork knuckle, the goulash, the stuffed meat parcel with feta cheese, and the rice were simply delicious. It was simply fantastic and absolutely delicious! We'll be back!

Incredible food, terrible service. They saw we were tourists and assumed we weren’t familiar with the German cuisine (we’re German by heritage but raised in Australia) the waitress was rude, and we were served different food from the table next to us that ordered the exact same dish. Honestly terrible introduction into Munich, aside from the delicious food that tasted just like my grandma’s, we would’ve loved the spaetzle as well though….shame. Word of advice to the service staff, put a smile on and be nicer - it’s not a good look. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back.

Terrible service! The older blonde lady forgot my beer! I didn't even get around to ordering my food because after about 15 minutes, when I asked, she said it would only take another minute. Then I lost my appetite and walked a few meters further to the Augustiner Bräustuben, and everything was perfect. Thanks, blonde lady at Bavaria...

CASH ONLY RESTAURANT (NO OPTION TO PAY SEPARATELY) I ordered a steak that was supposed to be gluten-free... To my surprise, it was, and the rude lady gave me a list of allergens and there was a pasta option. I asked if they made gluten-free pasta, and she said no. So I told her that option wasn't supposed to be on the menu, and she spoke to me in German, which I didn't understand. I asked her what I could eat, and of course she gave me the fish option... I didn't have time to look further, but I recommend taking the time to check that you can eat what you ordered (the fish was delicious). When it came time to pay, there was no option to pay separately, even though it was cash only. Looking at the receipt, none of the prices matched the menu prices, even though it had the same name... Not recommended for celiacs or for anyone having a good day.

Typical Bavarian restaurant, we went there on Sunday around 7pm, there weren't many people, the service was fast and precise, excellent choice to recommend

El Bavaria es un restaurante bastante económico. Comimos un par de ensaladas y postre. Todo estaba correcto, nada destacable, exceptuado el pan que era horrible. Había muy poca gente y el camarero que nos atendió fue tan serio y distante como correcto en el trato. El local intenta ser típico pero resulta un poco desangelado. Aunque sea bastante céntrico da la impresión de ser un restaurante de barrio con sus clientes habituales. Sinceramente esperábamos más. Según ponía la carta, solo cobran en efectivo. Honestamente no puedo hacer ni una critica negativa ni positiva. Ni fu, ni fa.

The food was about 2€ cheaper than other restaurants. I was glad to be able to eat the braten, which was my favorite! It was delicious! But I was full after about half the meal and it started to feel like a food fight. I avoided peak hours and went in solo around 17:50. I couldn't finish it and stayed there for about an hour.

Restaurant 300 meters from Central Station, serving traditional Bavarian food, delicious and hearty. The staff is friendly and speaks English. The atmosphere is very peaceful and cozy. Highly recommended.

Just what I imagine a good little Bavarian restaurant should look like! Delicious food, attentive staff, cozy atmosphere, very reasonable prices yet still very good quality. We spent a very nice, relaxing, and pleasant evening there. We'd be happy to go back anytime and definitely recommend it. We'll definitely be back next time!

Very good food with generous portion sizes. Unfortunately, only cash payments are accepted, but considering that, it's definitely worth a visit.

It's a pub, and the food and drinks reflect that. I recommend the Cordon Bleu... if you like meat, you'll get your money's worth here. Besides the food and drinks, what fascinates me about Bavaria is its international clientele. It's close to the main train station, and there are plenty of hotels and hostels nearby. There's always a chance to chat with people from the other side of the world.

Very friendly, quick service, who runs the entire place single-handedly, supported only by one person behind the counter. Respect. The food is above average. I had the "half/half." The raznici skewer was too fatty for me personally, but I'm admittedly picky about that. And finally, the menu also features "pork neck skewer." Everything tasted great, though, good home cooking. We were here as a regular at the Augustiner, a group of 15 heavy drinkers; everyone was satisfied; no one went hungry or thirsty. Kudos again to the service!

Swiss sausage salad is here: lots of ice cream salad on a flat plate and a few sausages, cucumbers and cheese strips on top to make it look like “a lot”. Side salad is a ready-made product drowned in lots of water dressing. And just “CASH IS GOODS” 🤨 Why? Has nothing to do with Bavarian products and the guild next to Theresienwiese. During the week of Bauma 2025 we ate in this restaurant several times, with a group of approximately 15 people per evening. Even though the restaurant was full, we were given a room at the back of the restaurant, a kind of private space. Really great to eat here with a group. Despite the enormous crowds, the waiters did a great job and the food even came out of the kitchen without any errors! Very cozy and the food was very tasty every evening. Definitely recommended.

Goulash is very delicious. The main dish was absolutely tasteless. The sauce was cold, the meat was cheap, and the cheese was cheap. It's just salty without any flavor. If you walk 4 minutes, there is a better kebab restaurant at 1/3 the price, so go there instead. waste of money

We looked almost in vain for a delicacy on Friday evening at 10:20 p.m. after arriving late, but we found what we were looking for here - super friendly service and really top-notch food! We had the Munich schnitzel and the roast with dumplings - highly recommended! Great place, thank you! ;)

But after eating so well here and being disappointed by a well-known restaurant, I went again yesterday. Food rich and tasty at moderate prices. The two waiters are really attentive, quick and friendly. Clear recommendation. The decoration on the ceiling should urgently be revised 😉

Very tasty tribal food, which was brought quickly after the very tasty starter salad. There was also a round of short drinks on the house after dinner. Only recommended.

It's a nice and decent place, the employees are polite and caring, it gets very crowded on the weekends. I like the food, the food is good, the service is good. Prices are between 17-24 euros.

Overall, a really great restaurant with good home cooking and friendly service. The ambience was a bit kitschy in some parts, but that was due to the many tinsel and sparkling stars on the ceiling, which certainly don't hang there all year round. Otherwise definitely recommended.

Wow, rarely eaten so well... large portions, great taste and my rum steak was on point. My husband's grill plate is also really big. Ayar, Djuvedreis and Cevapcici are awesome. That makes my heart soar as an ex-Munich native🫶

Bavaria is great. Versatile card, you don't know what to take. But everything is great, even if it's too much for me... 🤣 The boss is nice and friendly, even the next day he still knows what we drank the day before and offers it straight away. If we are in Munich again, we will definitely eat there again.
