Used several times for funerals in the adjoining room. It was okay. Nice little beer garden in the summer.

Good food, friendly service, normal Munich prices, cobwebs hanging from the horn, musical taste not in keeping with the ambiance, no felt pads on the chair legs, broken sugar dispenser, which is actually meant for coffee creamer, paper instead of cloth napkins.

Super friendly service, great authentic Bavarian atmosphere. I had Obazda (traditional Bavarian sausage). The best I've had in a long time! And it came with two super fresh, delicious pretzels. I'd go back anytime!

We were there for a funeral. Overall, we were very satisfied. The drinks service was a bit slow at first, but then everyone was taken care of and happy! The service was very friendly!

Excellent value for money for Munich. Delicious food, generous portion sizes (you'll be well-filled), and very pleasant and quiet seating, both inside and outside. Service is very friendly and, of course, in Bavarian attire. The beer garden also offers self-service, but of course, there's also a service area.

Sé que la inflación es terrible, pero 6 , 50 € por una pequeña cantidad de patatas fritas es una locura. Ni siquiera mencionar los otros premios. Nuestra comida volvió sobreparrillada y literalmente negra, a los camareros no les importó incluso después de quejarse. El servicio es malo, no mucha gente y parece que todos están cabreados. La Señora del Mostrador no quiso reembolsar nuestra salchicha de curry carbonizado. La ubicación tampoco es tan bonita, hay otros jardines plantados más acogedores.

I find it more than unappetizing when a beer garden waiter divides the spare ribs between plates with his bare fingers. Disposable gloves or appropriate cutlery are absolutely necessary. NO THANKS!

We were sitting in the beer garden after a bike ride. Unfortunately, the currywurst, which cost around €18, was a real disappointment. I won't be getting it again.

Wir haben jetzt mal auch andere Biergärten ausprobiert. Eines ist sicher an den Biergarten zur Schwaige kommt keiner ran. Spareribs, Obazter, "Service" u.s.w. einfach excellent. Wir kommen bald wieder und das ganz flott. Wir kehren reumütig zurück. Schöne Grüße

Good basic Bavarian and alpine fare; carnivores will feel at home here! Yet the proprietors understand the need for wholesome hearty salads, which they also do well. On the whole, the kitchen tends to go heavy on the salt.

Mega great food Cozy family beer garden. Everything is freshly prepared. Beer mugs are ice cold. Roast pork fresh daily, pork fillet tips, beef roulade, Ochsenbackerl...everything was excellent.

We went to the Schwaige retreat twice for celebrations with 15-20 guests and both times it was great in every respect - uncomplicated reservation/arrangement in advance by email, lovingly decorated location (even with painting supplies for the children), Extremely nice, courteous service and really tasty food at a good price-performance ratio! Absolute recommendation and many thanks to the team

We had on April 12th. Reserved for 4 people in the restaurant. The service was very attentive, quick and friendly. Nice, cozy atmosphere. The food: (Swabian plate, Munich schnitzel, cheese spaetzle, venison goulash and, for dessert, Kaiserschmarrn with apple sauce). Everything was really neat. The price-performance ratio is okay. We will be happy to come back and try out the very tempting looking pub garden next time.

My Wiener Schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes is simply delicious. In the sunny weather in the beer garden. Pure enjoyment!

The food was good and the price was reasonable for Munich. The portions were plentiful. I rate the overall concept: We were served by a lady who spoke broken German. Always latently a bit annoyed. In some cases she used a bit of a different tone towards us as customers (23 people is a good deal!). I also find it interesting that when we enter the restaurant we are reprimanded that we have to make a reservation with 20 people. When I asked if we should go somewhere else, the staff - thank God - stated that everything in the restaurant was free. 😄 Was unnecessary... When asked about how to dispose of an essentially empty diaper, the waitress in question snapped, “Not here.” The boss then takes care of the diaper problem. Overall, given the service - despite the good food - I wouldn't come back. Too bad. It's a nice place. It takes an announcement from the boss about service.

We came spontaneously in the afternoon as a large group. Despite not having a reservation, we were quickly assigned three tables. The waitress was friendly and listened to our requests. The food came quickly and was delicious (good home-style). Some convenience products were used (red cabbage), which was not my cup of tea. Otherwise I was satisfied and would recommend the restaurant.

Der kleine Biergarten am südwestlichen Zipfel des Waldfriedhofs in München zählt m.E. zu den angenehmen Haltepunkten bei Radtouren im Forstenrieder Park. Die Preise für Brezn, Bier und sonstige Zutaten eines üblichen Biergartenbesuchs bewegen sich im Münchener Durchschnitt und es verirren sich nur selten Touristen ohne Kenntnisse der Biergartenkultur in diese Lokalität - es geht also entspannt zu.

If I could, I would give two more stars! Great restaurant, delicious food, very nice, courteous service!! The food we ordered came in no time, the drinks were always delivered to the table very quickly!

You can always expect really good, high-quality food here! Although it is clearly on the more expensive side (we paid €80 for two people), it is worth it and is something special. The only point of criticism - the steak was NOT evenly fried in the onion roast, which in that case should be a no go since it is clearly an experienced restaurant and upscale Bavarian cuisine. 3 different degrees of doneness in my steak and not enough sauce. Also a long waiting time (on the weekend it could be 1h/1h+) otherwise everything was great. The taste and meat quality were on point, the service was attentive, quick and courteous, and we were also greeted in a friendly manner by the owner. Local is child friendly

The cheese spaetzle and the champion sauce were delicious, but the meat was very tough and very fried.

Hello, the food we ordered, whether steak or roast, was well-done and very dry, even though it was ordered “medium”. The cola wasn’t cola but something… unfortunately it was an “insolence” for these prices for the food.

I wonder how it can have such a good rating on Google.. as soon as you enter the store there is a strange smell, the service was quite ironic and not child-friendly.. they have colorful pens in two jars but supposedly no paper for drawing.. there Does one wonder why they even have colored pencils?? The Kaiserschmarrn only tasted like egg and rum - we weren't warned about the alcohol (we were there with 3 children, now imagine the children's disappointment)

Corona makes the beer garden a bit rustic, but still very cozy. Very accommodating boss - forgot a mask and upon polite request got one for free. Great service, affordable prices.

The food can be described as average, the waiter tried hard but was slightly overwhelmed. The prices are not acceptable for what is offered.

The opening times are incorrect. The website says it's open until 11pm, but at 10:15pm on September 19, 2024 the waiters were inside, the doors were open, and I was refused service.

I have been a guest for over 40 years now. Growing up in Fürstenried, I often went there with my parents. My parents are now lying in the beautiful forest cemetery. Last Sunday I was there with a friend after visiting her grave. As always, very attentive hosts, the ambience is rustic Bavarian, with playful elements. And the Kasspatzen were heavenly again. Thank you for a very successful evening!

The silence is always worth a visit. Especially in summer, the restaurant has a super cool and shady restaurant area behind the house. I particularly recommend the chanterelle time and card.

We were here once 10 years ago and the price/performance wasn't convincing. Now, by chance, the second attempt: unfortunately nothing again, the iced chocolate tastes terrible, everything is very expensive. The service tried very hard, but unfortunately it wasn't enough.

Delicious Bavarian food (pork fillet wrapped in bacon with chanterelle cream, vegetables and spaetzle), then a versatile dessert plate pj9 at a reasonable price and friendly service - we would be happy to come back.

Solid little beer garden. Classic food selection at Munich price levels. The toilet facility outside is a bit old... not so suitable for children, playground nearby... but not visible and more for older children! The restaurant presents itself better...it is often visited as a classic Bavarian inn for food after funeral services at the forest cemetery...like everywhere else, the portion sizes and prices have been adjusted to inflation.

Really unfriendly waiter. We only went there to drink. Since the beer garden was full, we went to the back area with service. When we said that we only came to drink and wanted to order 3 liters of beer, he immediately started complaining that that's what the beer garden is for and he doesn't know if he has glasses for that. If he had told us this in a normal tone it wouldn't be a problem. But I've rarely experienced anything so unfriendly... If you do not want drinks to be ordered in the serving area, put up a sign. This guy definitely needs to be trained in dealing with guests. We used to love coming, but you don't have to go through something like that.

Rating goes to the beer garden: Small and nice beer garden. Ideal for a short bike trip from Sendling, Fürstenried and Forstenried. Prices moderate. Parking spaces are usually in the immediate vicinity of the pub/beer garden.

The Munich schnitzel was great I'm from the country but that's exactly how I imagine a typical Munich tavern. The beer garden is simply great. The service was just the way we like it, a little tasty. The prices, well, Munich. If we didn't have 130 km, this would be our local bar.

Cheese spaetzle and Munich schnitzel are highly recommended. Chocolate mousse ok, but not outstanding. Avoid mashed potatoes. Toilets could be fresher.

(as of 2021) Update 2024: We've gotten used to the prices. Three people each with one meal and one drink, €75 including tip €81. Food was good, service was very attentive, a decent economy.

We (9 people) were quite satisfied with the food. The service had a stressful day, you could feel that. The gentleman was probably alone in the whole restaurant. HOWEVER, that in no way excuses the fact that we were able to observe when we left the restaurant, how the waitress stacked fries from one plate to the other by hand. The fries were then served at a table. We decided not to come over again. It's a shame. Maybe the gentleman should give hygiene instructions again District office. On top of that, he had already cashed in on us and had money in his hand. All in all, unfortunately, a no-go. I hope the innkeeper will carry out this instruction otherwise, unfortunately, he will soon have no more guests.

This is my go to restaurant in Munich. The Bavarian food options are delicious all year round. I’ve attended a wedding here recently too and the atmosphere was superb! Service is professional, friendly and forthcoming. I recommend anyone visiting or living in Munich to come here.

The location of the inn is urban on the one hand, but very idyllic on the other. Inside it is rustic and cozy. When the weather is nice you can also sit in the beer garden. The food is good so far. The service is friendly.

Meine Frau hatte Schweinebraten bestellt das Fleisch war steinhart und trocken die Sosse versalzen. Ich hatte Tagliatelle mit Pesto und Cocktailtomaten hier überwiegte ebenfalls der Salzgeschmack. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und die Lokalität ist ebenfalls ansprechend.

Place found by chance on the way home... excellent food and plentiful dishes, it felt like being in a family-run home restaurant. Super welcoming staff, helpful and kind even in recommending the dishes that best suited our tastes. A little outside the center of Munich, but easily reachable. I highly recommend it also for the value for money, my most sincere compliments to all the staff, if I'm in the area again I will definitely return!! I spent three days in this city and this was the best place I ate
