It's a shame, it used to be an honest place, today it's very overpriced, poor service, food doesn't arrive at the same time, and of the 4 main courses, the roast pork was already out at 8 p.m. Speaking of which, €21.90 for a roast pork is quite a word for a pub...

Fine Bavarian cuisine at slightly higher prices. But it's worth it because the portions are really big! The roast pork was incredibly good, I would have been happy if there had been a second dumpling with it. I also really like the way the sauce is served in a separate bowl, so everyone can add sauce wherever they want. It's nice to sit outside, and it's pretty authentic inside, but the acoustics are a bit tiring because it's quite loud. The service was very attentive and friendly, even if they were visibly busy. We'd love to come back :)

For me the most beautiful inn in Munich. And I have had the best smoked fish dish here so far. Everything else looked very good too. Friendly people. We had a wonderful evening.

Upscale “beer garden” in summer. Always great food and the quality is noticeable. We are always satisfied, no matter the occasion. Wiener schnitzel or onion roast are clear recommendations.

On March 22nd, 2025 in the afternoon we sat very nicely in the garden and ordered two salads with the drinks - wild herb salad with goat cheese was good (not very good!), the romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing and chicken was totally bad - as soon as the salad came, we complained that the chicken breast on the bone was not cooked through - it was argued that the meat was prepared sous-vide - we asked for it to be fried, which was done, However, only very half-heartedly -> the meat was cooked through, but didn't look very appetizing. The romaine lettuce itself doesn't even deserve a star, also because of the boring dressing! Despite our comments to the nice waiter who served the almost full plate, there was no feedback from the kitchen - that's extremely unpleasant, especially since the kitchen was certainly not busy at that time. For many, many years I have always enjoyed eating the “classics” and been very satisfied - but yesterday was a very bad experience!

Absolutely gorgeous place, delicious food, large portions, polite and professional staff. I can say that I sensed how people, who sat at the other tables, love this place.

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. It's a shame to serve such dishes to guests. Every snack tastes better. Stomach/intestinal problems included. Never again!

Ambiance was very nice, staff was very nice when picking up, BUT Kaiserschmarrn was announced as caramelized. For me this means that I bite into firmer layers of sugar every now and then. I picked up the Kaiserschmarrn, waited in the restaurant because I was a little early, opened it straight away in the car and it felt like biting into a stack of moist, warm, sweet washcloths soaked in a little rum. When I ask what is meant by caramelized: "...sugar melted with rum, but no crunchy sugar, just liquefied sugar that stays liquid.

Amazing Kaiserschmarrn with awesome service in a wonderful neighbourhood

Very nice inn, food very good, beer service normal. However, really rude service, Milena. We had verifiably reserved with an email confirmation from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The lady claimed the reservation was only until 7 p.m. A misunderstanding can happen. Afterwards, however, she became very mushy and told us to our faces that she would no longer serve us. Another waiter actually took over and was friendly. I don't want to go to the pub to be insulted and annoyed.

It's always a shame. A few years ago the Georgenhof was really recommended. For 2-3 years the food has just been bad. Starting with the schnitzel and ending with the cheese spaetzle. Really a shame!!!

I only had a cedar salad with chicken! It tasted ok but thought it could had more dressing and slightly spicier - it was a bit bland tasting .. staff was friendly and accommodating! Die Einrichtung ist robust/rustikal, original bayerisches Wirtshaus-Ambiente. Die Servicekraft ist flott, hat Humor und wirkt trotz regen Betriebes nicht gestresst. Alle vier Gerichte haben gemundet - vielleicht war es etwas zu viel Fleisch beim Spanferkelbraten😉. Der Kaiserschmarren reicht tatsächlich für zwei Personen. Die mit Rote Beete gefüllten Ravioli und die Rote Beete-Knödel waren gute vegetarische Angebote.

Actually 5/5, but the price is in the upper quarter of Munich's pubs and the selection on the menu is somewhat limited in terms of food. But top preparation and very friendly and capable staff in the usual cozy Augustiner atmosphere

Wir waren mit einer kleinen Gruppe zum Mittagessen hier. Das Lokal war nur spärlich besucht. Gleichwohl hat es ziemlich lange gedauert, bis das Essen kam. Das Essen war enttäuschend! Der Schweinbraten für stolze 22 Euro, den eine gute bayerische Wirtschaft beherrschen sollte, entsprach nicht der Beschreibung (Schulter und Halsgrat), sondern bestand nur aus zwei relativ kleinen, sehr durchwachsenen, sprich fetten, Halsgratscheiben. Die Sauce, gereicht in einer Sauciere, war dünn und schmeckte sehr nach Päckchen. Das Geld nicht wert! Das Braumeisterschnitzel (ein gefülltes dünnes Schweineschnitzel, 25 Euro) war mit einer Unmenge Senf gefüllt, der alles überlagerte, so so dass die andere Füllung kaum auszumachen war. Es war einfach nur batzig. Die gerösteten Knödel als Beilage waren fettig und nicht kross. Der bestellt Kaiserschmarrn kam erst auf erneute Nachfrage einer knappen Stunde nach der Bestellung. Er wurde zwischenzeitlich vergessen. Zum Zahlen mussten wir die Bedienung erst suchen und an den Tisch bitten, obwohl wie gesagt kaum was los war. Das Positive: Die Wirtschaft ist eine wunderschöne Traditionswirtschaft mit Eichenboden und dunkler Vertäfelung, das Augustiner vom Fass gut wie immer.

A beautiful restaurant where the staff runs their legs off to serve everyone. The portions are plentiful and of the best quality.

Gammel Christmas goose for 38 euros. Were there with the family on Christmas Day. I was looking forward to the goose all day. This also looked delicious, but was tough, completely dry and fibrous. A few hours later I was hit by stomach cramps and diarrhea. The rest of Christmas was over. The others had the schnitzel and everything was ok. I think it's cheeky to deliberately serve something like that to your non-regulars. If anyone has had similar experiences, please let me know. It doesn't work that way.

The food was very good but the service was unfortunately unfriendly and took more tips when paying by card. Unfortunately we only noticed it later.

Bavarian economy. The roast pork had a sauce as thin as water. The meat could have been a little softer. It was extremely loud. We could barely talk. Many parents with children.

Friendly, quick staff, excellent cuisine, a little more noise-insulating equipment on the ceiling and walls would better dampen the loud conversation.

The roast pork had an incredible portion size and was very tasty. The Kaiserschmarrn dessert was also soft on the inside, crispy on the outside and very fresh. It was busy, so there were longer waiting times, but... 👍🏼🎄

Definitely not what it used to be. Don’t follow the reputation they live of. The schweinsbraten was an absolute joke. And the waiter tipped herself.

Living off their old days legacy. Their food is way below the bar. The Schweinsbraten was just a massive slice of fat. The crust was overly dry and burnt, and the sauce was basically juice that completely lacked flavor and consistency. This place used to be an institution, I don't know what happened to it, a shame. I wouldn't reccomend.

The visit to the Georgenhof was disappointing. There were eight of us there and unfortunately the experience was anything but pleasant. The first quarter of duck we ordered was a disaster: the skin was limp and the meat was bone dry. After a short consultation, the dish was returned. The Augustiner beer, which is otherwise so appreciated, was also disappointing that evening. Several of us felt unwell after drinking it - possibly due to the lack of cleaning of the tap. When we asked for a new glass for the wine, the waitress was snippy. Conclusion: The Georgenhof in Schwabing is neither convincing in terms of food nor service. Despite the good location, there are significantly better addresses in Munich, especially towards the city center.

Wir kommen am Samstag um 21:45 nach dem Fußballspiel, sind super gelaunt, wollen was zum Essen bestellen und kriegen dann von der Kellnerin nicht entschuldigend, sondern triumphierend mitgeteilt, dass die Küche schon geschlossen ist. Und das, obwohl wir auf der Webseite extra nachgeschaut haben, und dort ausdrücklich steht, dass die Küche bis 22:15 geöffnet ist. Für ein Lokal in der Münchner Innenstadt ist das wirklich jämmerlich. Ich komme hier sicher nicht mehr her. Wegen Reichtum geschlossen, mehr sag ich nicht

The food is always very good, even if it's a bit expensive, the beer price is absolutely fine and hasn't been increased for a long time. This is very commendable.

The two of us were here in the evening during the week. We had a nice spot outside. Service was very prompt, courteous, but at the same time not intrusive. The beer is excellent and cold. The food was very tasty. Onion roast to medium rare, very tasty, including the side dishes. When it started to rain, we were able to drink 2-3 beers inside at the bar. It was a very nice evening, gladly again and keep it up!

Typical German place in Bavaria. Excellent service. Exceptional food.

First of all, food wise it's one of the best German restaurants. Service in German restaurants is not good in general, this one is actually even better than others. We had a reservation and still had to wait for quite a long time to be seated. Normally that's not a big problem but the area where I was supposed to wait (where there's a sign) is tiny and it was uncomfortable with all the people and waiters passing by and looking at me with anger because I was on their way. There's literally no other place to wait and waiters were not really busy they casually chatted and didn't bother to take us to our seats. we were 6 people, the rest were waiting outside. And after we got seated it was a bit of a mess with some orders forgotten, some wrong deliveries.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe geschäftlicher Gäste im Georgenhof. Die Gerichte waren vorbestellt, der Raum war super vorbereitet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und extrem aufmerksam. Wir hatten 3 Varianten von Obazda - außerwöhnlich gut zubereitet. Die Kichererbsensuppe war lecker und due Roulade super zart. Das war ein sehr schöner Abend - kulinarisch und vom Service. Danke!

The Georgenhof is a really great Bavarian restaurant. If you want to eat hearty and truly Bavarian food, you've come to the right place. We were there at Wiesenzeit and luckily got a table. When the weather is good you still have the opportunity to sit outside on the terrace. Every time I visited I continued to try out the menu and I have to say that everything tasted delicious! As a starter you definitely have to share the snack. Main courses such as schnitzel, roast pork, Nuremberg sausages and onion roast were very tasty, large portions and at reasonable prices. Desserts like Kaiserschmarrn can also be found on the menu here! As always, we had a cozy evening as a group at the Georgenhof. I'm always happy to come back!

The beer is tasty, the white sausages were delicious, the prices are reasonable, the service is quick and friendly, the innkeepers are what good innkeepers should be. We are in Munich once a year - we would love to come back.

Super nice inn in the middle of Schwabing. We were a small group and had our lunch break outside in the beautiful sunshine without a reservation get a table. The service was friendly and accommodating and took our order quickly. The food came hot and at the same time so that we could all eat together (which is not the case in many pubs). The ingredients are fresh, the salad is well seasoned and the dishes were very well prepared. I think the price is justified for the quality offered, but it is in the upper average range! We really enjoyed it and would love to come back for dinner. Clear recommendation if you are nearby and want to enjoy Bavarian cuisine.

My husband and I have already recommended the Georgenhof to countless friends. The food is amazing and the portions are extremely generous. Here you can get the world's best Kaiserschmarrn (no joke!). We recently added an overnight stay in Munich after our Austria vacation so that we could eat here twice. The service is also very quick and friendly. A must when you are in Munich!

Wir haben uns als Familie entschlossen, dieses Restaurant zu besuchen. Ein Grund mehr, einen Gast zu München mitzunehmen, um ihm die Münchner Restaurants zu zeigen. Wir kamen um 19:00 Uhr an. Es waren Tische vorhanden. Da wir mit einem Hund unterwegs waren, wählten wir einen Tisch abseits des Eingangs auf der Terrasse. Eine Kellnerin kam auf uns zu. Sie hat uns nicht einmal gegrüßt. Sie fragte mich unglücklich, was wir hier tun würden. Ich sagte, wir wollten essen. Sie fragte, ob wir einen Tisch bestellt hätten. Wir sagten nein. Ora sagte, unser Tisch sei reserviert und zeigte direkt auf den Ausgang. Sagen, dass man gehen soll. 1. Auf dem Tisch war kein "Reservieren"-Schild angebracht. Obwohl auf Nachbartischen ein solches Schild stand. 2. Sie hat uns keinen anderen Tisch angeboten. Und sie hat mich einfach rausgeschmissen. 3. ich lerne immer noch Deutsch und habe auf Englisch umgestellt. Ich wies darauf hin, dass der Tisch laut Gesetz frei sei, wenn kein Schild darauf hinweise, dass er reserviert sei. Die Kellnerin fluchte unglücklich auf Deutsch. 4. Ich bat sie höflich, den Manager zu holen. Daraufhin erhielt ich die Antwort: "Geh und ruf an". 5. Erst als ein anderer Kellner auf uns zukam. Und hat uns höflich einen Tisch zugewiesen. Wir haben uns gut amüsiert. Das Essen war köstlich. Aber der Abend wurde durch die Unhöflichkeit einer Kellnerin verdorben. Ich denke, dass es für ein Restaurant dieses Niveaus schlecht ist, wenn solche Kellner Kunden bedienen und unhöflich zu ihnen sind. Am 6.09.24 war der angeblich reservierte Tisch die Nummer 108. Sie können leicht überprüfen, welche Kellnerin ihn bedient hat. Der Kellner mit der Brille hat den Tisch Nummer 104 sehr gut bedient. Danken Sie ihm Ich bin auch neugierig. Warum wurde die Kellnerin unhöflich, als wir anfingen, Ukrainisch zu sprechen? Mag sie keine Ukrainer? Oder dass ich wie ein Jude aussehe? Ich freue mich darauf zu hören, wie Sie dieses Problem gelöst haben oder lösen werden. LG

We as a family decided to visit this restaurant. One more reason to take a guest to Munich to show them the Munich restaurants. We arrived at 7:00 p.m. There were tables available. Since we were traveling with a dog, we chose a table away from the entrance on the terrace. A waitress came up to us. She didn't even greet us. She asked me unhappily what we were doing here. I said we wanted to eat. She asked if we had booked a table. We said no. Ora said our table was reserved and pointed directly to the exit. Telling you to leave. 1. There was no “reserve” sign on the table. Even though there was such a sign on neighboring tables. 2. She didn't offer us another table. And she just kicked me out. 3. I'm still learning German and have switched to English. I pointed out that by law the table was free unless there was a sign saying it was reserved. The waitress swore unhappily in German. 4. I politely asked her to get the manager. I then received the answer: “Go and call.” 5. Not until another waiter came up to us. And politely assigned us a table. We had a good time. The food was delicious. But the evening was spoiled by the rudeness of a waitress. I think it's bad for a restaurant of this level to have such waiters serving customers and being rude to them. On 9/6/24 the supposedly reserved table was number 108. You can easily check which waitress served it. The waiter with the glasses served table number 104 very well. Thank him I'm curious too. Why did the waitress become rude when we started speaking Ukrainian? Does she not like Ukrainians? Or that I look like a Jew? I look forward to hearing how you solved or will solve this problem. LG

Love this place. We go to Georgenhof at least once every time we are in Munich. Love the beer, schnitzel and kaiserschmarren. Schwabing is a great neighborhood to take a stroll afterwards.

We recently celebrated our civil wedding here and reserved a table in the next room in advance. Everything went smoothly from start to finish, the advice and reservation of the table was problem-free, and if the sun was shining we could have gotten a table outside. The adjoining room was perfect for us as we could toast the special day in peace. When we arrived, the table was already beautifully set, the food was, as always, delicious and the service was very attentive.

After a day tour, our tour guide dropped 3 of us off here for a “locals” restaurant. After being seated, I requested separate checks, since I was solo. The Aussies called an Uber before settling the bill. We explained multiple times the couple had the two steaks and two drinks. After paying and catching an Uber the waitress left me paying for one of the steaks and wine along with my inexpensive entree and drink. 😡 Have to rate everything 1 star to try to make a difference since I can’t recoup what it cost me! Lesson learned! Just say “No” to dining with strangers.

And the schnitzel – crispy, tender, and in a filling portion – is always a safe choice. Yes, the prices are high, but in return you get really first-class quality and solid portions. The friendly and attentive staff rounds off the experience and ensures that you feel completely comfortable. For me, the Georgenhof is a place that you always enjoy visiting when you are in Munich. Absolutely recommended!

A bit too expensive for a fairly typical pub. The food was nonetheless very tasty. However, the service was actually quite lacking in terms of friendliness. People were treated very condescendingly and unkindly. Very unfortunate.

This used to be my favorite restaurant for every time I visited Munich. They used to be sort of an institution in Schwabing. Not anymore. The price-quality ratio is terrible now. I ordered Wiener Schnitzel and the outer layer peeled off the meat. The cranberries served with Schnitzel were a weird foamy matter. Radler was way too sweet (too much lemonade, too little beer). I spoke English, but was given the German menu. Definitely not coming back again.

In theory, ambitious Bavarian cuisine. But what I had to experience here is something I have never experienced in 40 years: After we missed the avocado on a salad and it was re-delivered, the waitress took my wife's fork and poked at my wife's plate to check that we hadn't lied. I couldn't even react because I was so speechless. Then it continued: My wife's chicken breast still had a bone the length of a finger. The waitress then said that this is how it should be Ultimately, after consulting the kitchen, she admitted that this was incorrect and did not charge for the salad for €23. Conclusion: unfortunately there are no professionals in the kitchen or in service.

Schönes Wirtshaus mit guten Essen und tollen Service. Kann die teilweise negativen Kommentare nicht nachvollziehen, wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend. Gerne wieder.

Ich war hier an einem Wochentag mit Kolleg:innen zum Abendessen. Ursprünglich wollten wir später ins Innere umziehen, um dem Fußballspiel beizuwohnen. Doch aufgrund des schönen Wetters und des langen Abends wurde daraus nichts. Wir saßen vom Eingang gesehen links hinten in einer Ecke mit 3 Tischen, von denen wir zwei nutzten. Unsere Bedienung war den ganzen Abend präsent, sehr nett und aufmerksam. Ich orderte das Brotzeitbrettl, welches wie vermutet, viel zu mächtig war. Neben kalten Fleischpflanzerl war u.a. Leberwurst, Obatzda und Käse enthalten. Dazu gab es einen Korb mit dunklem Brot. Alles frisch und sehr gut. Wir hatten uns vorab schon für ein Dessert entschieden und bestellten Tischweise noch den Kaiserschmarrn. Dieser wurde untypisch in weißen Schüsseln serviert. Der Teig war leider viel zu feucht als hätte er noch etwas im Ofen sein dürfen. Wenn er perfekt zubereitet wurden wäre, wären beide Schüsseln am Ende leer gewesen.

Half of staff was very unfriendly. Food was below average, way too salty. What a shame in such a location and with such a history.

We tried the Georgenhof again today and were unfortunately shocked, as always, by probably the worst service in the city. One of the most beautiful inns in Munich's best location but the service, as always, was catastrophic and unfriendly. That was really the last attempt, even though we live right around the corner... What a shame!
