We as a family decided to visit this restaurant. One more reason to take a guest to Munich to show them the Munich restaurants. We arrived at 7:00 p.m. There were tables available. Since we were traveling with a dog, we chose a table away from the entrance on the terrace. A waitress came up to us. She didn't even greet us. She asked me unhappily what we were doing here. I said we wanted to eat. She asked if we had booked a table. We said no. Ora said our table was reserved and pointed directly to the exit. Telling you to leave. 1. There was no “reserve” sign on the table. Even though there was such a sign on neighboring tables. 2. She didn't offer us another table. And she just kicked me out. 3. I'm still learning German and have switched to English. I pointed out that by law the table was free unless there was a sign saying it was reserved. The waitress swore unhappily in German. 4. I politely asked her to get the manager. I then received the answer: “Go and call.” 5. Not until another waiter came up to us. And politely assigned us a table. We had a good time. The food was delicious. But the evening was spoiled by the rudeness of a waitress. I think it's bad for a restaurant of this level to have such waiters serving customers and being rude to them. On 9/6/24 the supposedly reserved table was number 108. You can easily check which waitress served it. The waiter with the glasses served table number 104 very well. Thank him I'm curious too. Why did the waitress become rude when we started speaking Ukrainian? Does she not like Ukrainians? Or that I look like a Jew? I look forward to hearing how you solved or will solve this problem. LG

30 euro's for a meal that is worth 20 euro's But it was good Just to pricy

Love this place. We go to Georgenhof at least once every time we are in Munich. Love the beer, schnitzel and kaiserschmarren. Schwabing is a great neighborhood to take a stroll afterwards.

We recently celebrated our civil wedding here and reserved a table in the next room in advance. Everything went smoothly from start to finish, the advice and reservation of the table was problem-free, and if the sun was shining we could have gotten a table outside. The adjoining room was perfect for us as we could toast the special day in peace. When we arrived, the table was already beautifully set, the food was, as always, delicious and the service was very attentive.

After a day tour, our tour guide dropped 3 of us off here for a “locals” restaurant. After being seated, I requested separate checks, since I was solo. The Aussies called an Uber before settling the bill. We explained multiple times the couple had the two steaks and two drinks. After paying and catching an Uber the waitress left me paying for one of the steaks and wine along with my inexpensive entree and drink. 😡 Have to rate everything 1 star to try to make a difference since I can’t recoup what it cost me! Lesson learned! Just say “No” to dining with strangers.

For me, the Georgenhof in Munich is a real gem among the city's restaurants. This institution manages to combine fine Bavarian cuisine with a cozy ambience that delights both locals and visitors. Roast pork is an absolute classic, tender and juicy, with a crust that is perfectly crispy. The snack board impresses with a selection of the finest regional specialties that are ideal for sharing. And the schnitzel – crispy, tender, and in a filling portion – is always a safe choice. Yes, the prices are high, but in return you get really first-class quality and solid portions. The friendly and attentive staff rounds off the experience and ensures that you feel completely comfortable. For me, the Georgenhof is a place that you always enjoy visiting when you are in Munich. Absolutely recommended!

A bit too expensive for a fairly typical pub. The food was nonetheless very tasty. However, the service was actually quite lacking in terms of friendliness. People were treated very condescendingly and unkindly. Very unfortunate.

This used to be my favorite restaurant for every time I visited Munich. They used to be sort of an institution in Schwabing. Not anymore. The price-quality ratio is terrible now. I ordered Wiener Schnitzel and the outer layer peeled off the meat. The cranberries served with Schnitzel were a weird foamy matter. Radler was way too sweet (too much lemonade, too little beer). I spoke English, but was given the German menu. Definitely not coming back again.

In theory, ambitious Bavarian cuisine. But what I had to experience here is something I have never experienced in 40 years: After we missed the avocado on a salad and it was re-delivered, the waitress took my wife's fork and poked at my wife's plate to check that we hadn't lied. I couldn't even react because I was so speechless. Then it continued: My wife's chicken breast still had a bone the length of a finger. The waitress then said that this is how it should be Ultimately, after consulting the kitchen, she admitted that this was incorrect and did not charge for the salad for €23. Conclusion: unfortunately there are no professionals in the kitchen or in service.

Were only there to drink, the service and the beer were very good. A really very nice inn.

Sat outside as evening set in. Food was good, bit on expensive side, but lots of it. Another interesting evening with friends... drinks only this time. Then the rain came

Schönes Wirtshaus mit guten Essen und tollen Service. Kann die teilweise negativen Kommentare nicht nachvollziehen, wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend. Gerne wieder.

Ich war hier an einem Wochentag mit Kolleg:innen zum Abendessen. Ursprünglich wollten wir später ins Innere umziehen, um dem Fußballspiel beizuwohnen. Doch aufgrund des schönen Wetters und des langen Abends wurde daraus nichts. Wir saßen vom Eingang gesehen links hinten in einer Ecke mit 3 Tischen, von denen wir zwei nutzten. Unsere Bedienung war den ganzen Abend präsent, sehr nett und aufmerksam. Ich orderte das Brotzeitbrettl, welches wie vermutet, viel zu mächtig war. Neben kalten Fleischpflanzerl war u.a. Leberwurst, Obatzda und Käse enthalten. Dazu gab es einen Korb mit dunklem Brot. Alles frisch und sehr gut. Wir hatten uns vorab schon für ein Dessert entschieden und bestellten Tischweise noch den Kaiserschmarrn. Dieser wurde untypisch in weißen Schüsseln serviert. Der Teig war leider viel zu feucht als hätte er noch etwas im Ofen sein dürfen. Wenn er perfekt zubereitet wurden wäre, wären beide Schüsseln am Ende leer gewesen.

Half of staff was very unfriendly. Food was below average, way too salty. What a shame in such a location and with such a history.

We tried the Georgenhof again today and were unfortunately shocked, as always, by probably the worst service in the city. One of the most beautiful inns in Munich's best location but the service, as always, was catastrophic and unfriendly. That was really the last attempt, even though we live right around the corner... What a shame!

Were only there for a quick tasting. Had Obazda absolutely delicious, staff friendly, everything clean.

Lunch special was actually good, but it's a shame that you couldn't get a fruit salad without apple or an alternative. I'm allergic to apples...

I have been at the Georgenhof for many, many years now. Here you can get ice-cold Augustiner. An important reason for this great location. You can sit comfortably in the beer garden, typically under chestnut trees. The beer is ice cold and freshly tapped. The food is excellent. I particularly like the roast pork and the Swiss sausage salad. The service is great, the people are nice and the audience is completely relaxed and very diverse. I can recommend it at any time of the day. The opening game between Germany and Scotland in particular was a real experience. The atmosphere was great, even if some guests complained about the delay on the many televisions. My God - there are worse things!!

Always a safe haven with great food, but unfortunately it has become increasingly expensive and a lot more expensive and they are closing too early for my taste.

Underground service! The last visit was already sobering, but we wanted to give the restaurant a second chance. We spontaneously went by at 8:15 p.m. in the evening and were seated outside. We ask if we can sit under the umbrellas; That worked, but only with the comment from the waiter that ALL other tables there were reserved - no other table in the area was reoccupied until 10 p.m. Even though there wasn't much going on, it took forever for the starter (Obazda with bread) to arrive. The two main courses took over an hour to arrive, even though we had already ordered them with the starter. New drinks weren't asked for once. Unfortunately, that was probably the last visit.

Food was delicious. We were there to watch the European Championship opening game (football), but disaster!!!! There were 3 TVs and all of them are time shifted. Sometimes even up to 20 seconds. It would have been nice if we had been informed beforehand. So we are really horrified!!!! Watching football is no fun. Then you shouldn't offer it. We had to sit with our cell phones and turn on the live stream!

Normally the Georgenhof is my favorite place when I have people from home visiting. But today I had one of the worst experiences in Munich gastronomy. The service was consistently unfriendly, answered in monosyllables and put us under time pressure. She served the outside area and then asked us inside when it rained. There we were seated in the middle of the aisle, even though not a single table was occupied, and were briskly informed that we could either sit here or go out into the rain again. I would come here again because the food, atmosphere and service are usually excellent. However, I would like to express my dissatisfaction somehow.

A really nice old inn, without Bavarian kitsch. Good draft beer, cheap lunch menu. However, there weren't enough waiters on duty, which meant we had to wait quite a long time before we could order and the food, especially the soup, was only lukewarm.

Cozy, rustic Bavarian restaurant. The Wiener Schnitzel is very good. We were there on Saturday lunchtime and it wasn't completely full. You can pay by card and dogs are allowed.

The food wasn't outstanding but definitely okay. The service is unfortunately forgettable. No drink for a long time, the gravy that was kindly offered was served with the last bite, after the main course you were ignored by the service.

Very nice Bavarian inn with very good cuisine, friendly staff and a wonderful beer garden. Price level is rather high for home-style cooking, but the quality is good.

The restaurant is actually a bit too expensive for me for what's on the table later. Also the drinks. It's very nice, a great place, but the price-performance ratio is a bit off. But that's how it is in the middle of Munich.

Me and my wife had the veal Wiener Schnitzel! We both went to bed with severe stomach pains only to wake up in the night and spit out the entire schnitzel! We have a horror meal with a horror night. I really can't recommend eating there For a total of 80 euros we got food poison and a bad night Very very poor quality at insanely high prices!!

Once a favourite Munich restaurant for us. Sadly the quality has dropped and prices have gone up. The veal schnitzel was mainly puffed up breading with very small, thin meat slices, (the thickness of a beer coaster) for 29 euro. My husband had pork roast (Schweinebraten) which seemed to be from the previous day. Our friends had Tatar which was okay.

The place was lovely and the food delicious. One of the best schnitzel I had while in Munich.

Food was OK but the price-performance ratio hasn't been right for a long time. Worse is the service. Rude and inattentive (not in general but mainly). During our last visit, the waiter even argued with us about the tip. Apparently it wasn't enough for him. Well, I still pay (even when it comes to tips) based on performance (in this case, based on friendliness or attentiveness.

Very unpleasantly received by a bad-tempered waitress. Very unprofessional behavior, the unfriendly waitress slammed the food on our table! After I complained because the schnitzel fell apart. I was told I wouldn't get anything to eat anymore. Well, what else can I say as a guest? Then the boss came and she was friendlier. Recommended me something else. But unfortunately the roast pork was also nothing. Can't recommend this place! The food was really bad even for this price range!

Food was OK. Service was catastrophic even though the store wasn't even close to full. There were endless waiting times and when you asked inside, you were rudely turned away. It doesn't work at all.

The food is great, but that’s about it. The store is overwhelmed by its own size: our food came over a quarter of an hour and we had to wait more than 20 minutes for drinks. On top of that, the noise made the ambience even more uncomfortable, as if sitting on dry land wasn't already unfortunate enough. To make matters worse, the service was also quite unfriendly and tried to describe the poor standard in every respect as the normal of the Georgenhof. Next time beer in a pub where things are quicker and friendlier

Nice Bavarian restaurant with good cuisine. Centrally located in Schwabing. The prices have risen quite a bit (e.g. schnitzel for 29.90), but are now standard in Schwabing. In my opinion worth a visit. Be sure to try the salads too. I particularly like the wild herb salad with goat cheese.

I don’t know what the deal was but they wouldn’t seat us in a half empty restaurant at 2pm. Assume it’s because I’m with a brown person.

Food was quite good, prices slightly exorbitant. Unfortunately, despite there being few guests, we received our food very late.

The service was great. The staff very nice. Unfortunately I don't think the prices for the food are reasonable. Everything was okay, but there was always something lacking in taste. The spinach dumplings were actually really good. Unfortunately the asparagus was too crunchy and bitter. The sauce is a bit too weak. Kaiserschmarn is limp, but tastes good. In addition, the portions were a bit small. It's complaining at a high level, but if I were to compare other Bavarian restaurants nearby, the Georgenhof unfortunately doesn't make it into my favorites list.

Were there again and again, unfortunately every time it was disappointing; We ordered various dishes, unfortunately none of them were good, the roast pork was almost inedible, we left half of it lying around and the schnitzel actually only consisted of breading and was served just lukewarm (as were the other dishes). We had the feeling that the dishes were just warmed up and not freshly prepared! Unfortunately, the staff is also (mostly) unfriendly, listless and takes a long time to arrive. They didn't really thank us for the tip either... It's a shame, because the outside area is really nice!

Nice restaurant, but the food is far too overpriced, paying €30 for a mediocre schnitzel, and in the end it doesn't even taste good and is cold. The service was a total disaster, unfriendly, not even a smile and just kept waiting. Unfortunately not recommended at all!

I can only confirm Jerrit Koehler's assessment from three months ago. The schnitzel is the deceptive package of the year. At that price you just swallow. Then the food is served and you think wow, who is going to eat that. Two supposedly large schnitzels, with fried potatoes and salad. The disillusionment comes as soon as you cut the schnitzel, because the breading is more than twice as big as the (hard) meat. However, this is not news to me. It was exactly the same in November. A corresponding note to the employees obviously did not work. This way you can also maximize your profits. A pity.

Man wirbt hier mit günstigen Mittagsangeboten aber leider bleibt man hinterher eher enttäuscht. Meine Erfahrung gestern jedenfalls war leider so gelaufen…. Das Mittags Schnitzel war zäh und die Kartoffeln sehr fad das Beste war eigentlich der kleine Beilagensalat den ich zusätzlich bestellt man Also ich zahle gerne etwas mehr,für bessere Qualität und Zubereitung. Die Dame im Service war schnell und machte ihren Job gut,deshalb die drei Sterne.

Nice place, but unfortunately that's about it. The Wiener Schnitzel for just under €30 consists almost entirely of breading and a maximum of 100g of meat. In a discounter you would call it a classic deception 😉

The food is great. One of the best schnitzels in town, and a super tasty Kaiserschmarren! BUT, the service is terrible. They claim they are open till 23:00. The answering machine (no one ever bothers to pick up the phone) says that the kitchen accepts orders till 22:00, and online they accept reservations at 21:45 (and even later that that) When we arrived (perfectly on time at 21:45 sharp) they cringed when we said we wanted to eat. They refused to cook the duck, the schnitzel or the Kaiserschmarren because “the kitchen is closing”. When we thanked them and said that we would go elsewhere, they begrudgingly said that they would do the schnitzel but they had to ask about the Kaiserschmarren. No response came until at the very end of the dinner when they confirmed that there would be no Kaiserschmarren, or any other dessert for that matter because the kitchen is closed. Basically: don’t go for a late dinner - they don’t want your business.

A company with very poor morale and not recommended as an employer! You wait in vain for final payments and a job reference. Agreements made before the labor court are not adhered to. Not a figurehead for Augustinians!

Beim Georgenhof handelt es sich um ein klassisches bayrisches Wirtshaus. Bei meiner Firmenfeier wurde der obere Bereich für uns reserviert. Die Ente hatte sehr gut Geschmeckt, aber das Eis war sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Unser Rollstuhlfahrer hatte mit dem Zugang keine Probleme gehabt.

War da essen ist hal eine Kneipe Es gut wurde mit persönlich zu lauten aber sonst alles gut

Nach einer Veranstaltung in der Olympiahalle wurde ich nicht nur mit einer hervorragenden Suppe verwöhnt sondern auch mit einem süffigen Augustiner Weißbier. Der Smalltalk an der Theke war sehr angenehm.

Biergarten im Sommer ist sehr angenehm. Das Essen ist gut aber nicht hervorragend. Beim Service ist je nach Bedienung gut oder nicht so gut...

The best Bavarian restaurant in Munich. The cuisine is just sublime, the staff nice and professional and the atmosphere is very local and warm. Not touristy at all- and children are welcome too. We go for special occasions as well as just to enjoy a perfect Wiener Schnitzel.

Schönes gemütliches,bayerisches Restaurant welches alles macht damit man rundum zufrieden ist. Sehr freundliche Bedienung und sehr gute Speisen. Einige sind etwas teuerer (wahrscheinlich zu recht :). Das Gröstl mit Salat für 14.50€ z.B. ist wirklich okay (Preis / Leistung). Die Nachspeisen auch echt lecker. Unsere Weihnachtsfeier ist sehr gelungen. Danke!

Super schönes Ambiente, super leckeres Essen und nettes Personal. Ich finde es relativ hochpreisig, aber für die Lage in Ordnung.

Es war ein Besuch nach mehreren Jahren mal wieder und der ist aber leider genauso abgelaufen wie mein letzter,ziemlich ernüchternd! Käsespätzle sind eigentlich Sahnespätzle und halb so groß wie man es normalerweise aus Wirtshäuern kennt und das für 15€, schon etwas unverschämt. Das Wiener Schnitzel war höchstens okay aber mehr auch nicht!Ausserdem lange Wartezeit bei einem Laden der zu 25% besetzt war… Service Personal könnte etwas mehr Freundlichkeit ausstrahlen und vor allem ganz wichtig …. Augenkontakt 😉 Das Beste war das Bier! Also die drei Sterne sind mehr als großzügig
