McDonald's in Karlsruhe

I've never seen such a bad McDonald's! Upon entering, there was a terrible smell, not just your average fast-food smell, but truly disgusting. There was no ordering screen, and the employee spoke extremely quietly and unclearly, making it almost impossible to understand. Then they didn't have any Coke Zero or McMuffins—what did they even have? Communication was extremely difficult, so we left hungry and ate somewhere else. It was freezing cold, and the employee was standing behind the counter in her own winter coat, which absolutely violates hygiene regulations. A lot needs to change before we'll eat here again.

At 36 years old, I've thrown up for the first time after eating at a McDonald's!!! Today, January 2nd, 2026, at around 10:45 PM, I used the drive-thru. It was empty, the place was quiet, and my food arrived in less than two minutes. The bread was hard, the fries and cheese balls were ice cold, and I ate them immediately after using the drive-thru in the parking lot. I threw up right away. I sincerely hope this place closes down soon. I don't even want to know what the hygiene is like.

Unfortunately, this is the worst McDonald's in the entire region. Run-down and uncomfortable. Nothing about it is right.

As in most McDonald's, nothing special. The staff just type something in and say no changes are possible, plus they're unfriendly and completely overwhelmed. A smile never hurt anyone.

The food was okay, however, stars deducted for the dirty tables, dirty floor, and the fact that the restroom could be cleaner. It's also extremely cold inside the dining room. Are they saving on heating costs? The fries were practically uncooked...

The toilets were abnormally dirty. The employees were wearing their own clothes and were incredibly unfriendly. The burger buns were rock hard and inedible. After complaining, they even pumped more money into them. The nuggets tasted like they were from the day before. By far the worst McDonald's in and around Karlsruhe. It should be shut down. The entire floor was dirty and sticky. WKD hasn't been there in a very long time. It's an outrage for the people who eat there. Never again!!

Unfortunately, I can only come to one conclusion about this McDonald's... Rude and some incompetent, especially the management.

No ordering terminals; the branch seems to have been forgotten by the company. Terrible.

The shop is poorly heated. The ice cream doesn't melt. The service is a disaster! The staff's German is terrible. They forget items when you order. The food is better at other branches! I wouldn't recommend this shop! Go to Mühlburg instead. It's much better. P.S. There are no self-service kiosks here.

I'm disappointed by this place every single time. The staff seem to have no command of German and are incapable of fulfilling a simple order correctly. I had to emphasize countless times that I wanted a cheeseburger and a vanilla shake. Despite this, I received an ice-cold burger—even though there was no one else in the restaurant—and instead of the vanilla shake I ordered, I was given a strawberry shake. This is simply unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable. Very disappointing.

One of the worst establishments

Shit, they said they were open at 1am, that was a lie, the drive-thru was closed at 11:55pm.

The staff taking the order couldn't speak German -> grade 6. The order was misunderstood. The employee refused to correct it. The panel at the drive-thru wasn't working, so you couldn't correct what the employee didn't understand; he just kept saying "yes, yes." The employee didn't even know his own product names. I received the wrong items several times, always at this branch! I never received a receipt; it couldn't be worse. Stay away from this branch! I'll never come back.

A disastrous situation. Unfriendly staff, sticky floor, food looks like it's been dropped and then stepped on again. The McDonald's app doesn't work. They keep receipts so you can't check what you ordered. It seems like they only clean it every few years; I don't even want to see the kitchen... Food has been sitting in the warming tray for half an hour and they haven't thrown it away.

An extremely unfriendly woman refused to give me three ice cubes after I begged her. So I bought a drink to get some ice cubes, but there were very few in it, and I asked her to put in more. She made a scene and didn't give me any.

Here's what I ate: Big Tasty Bacon Chili Cheese on the menu with fries and a Coke. Despite the name, the burger was neither big nor particularly tasty. The fries may have been touched by the frying oil once, but by the time we got to the table they were cold, soggy, and a complete disappointment. The Coke had a strange aftertaste, perhaps caused by the self-dissolving cup it was "served" in. Order screens were apparently too expensive for this franchise; instead, you get to chat with the grumpy and unmotivated staff. Fine. I definitely won't be going back here.

First impression: the entire floor was badly smeared and stickier than wallpaper paste. Very few customers and two cash registers manned. Unfortunately, it was still a long wait. Finally, it was my turn... tablets out. The paper for the tray was therefore placed on the equally dirty counter. The napkins were right next to it. It was actually time to leave. But what can't you handle... Ordered a burger at the Munue. Unfortunately, my order was constantly interrupted by questions, very rude. Then I ordered a menu with a coffee specialty instead of a soft drink. Then I was told it wasn't possible. Despite pointing out the notice on the board above the employee, a very resolute and unfriendly denial. Only the shift manager could then clarify the matter. Not a word of apology. Unfortunately, the Big Tasty Bacon wasn't fresh, and I didn't feel like dealing with any more rudeness. Definitely a no-go for me and my companion, and a reason not to come back here again. The men's restroom was broken, and the disabled restroom was designated as an alternative. Unfortunately, it was already close to technical collapse and far beyond its hygienic standards.

Worst McDonald's ever! When you walk in, you're practically stuck to the floor. Plenty of free tables, but all of them, absolutely all of them, are dirty from the previous diners. I've never had fries this bad; they were absolutely cold. I ordered a small meal but then received and paid for a regular one. I immediately turned around when I got to the restrooms; they were terribly dirty.

Shabby bunch of employees, trash everywhere. They laugh at you when you order a Coke and wait longer for your food because they still have to catch the pigs and chickens. But I never got the Coke.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I ordered a mc flirte this evening at 10 p.m. I didn't get any sauce. I asked if I could get any more and the intern doesn't speak proper German, doesn't know how the cash register works and the employees here are just very unfriendly.

The food was freshly prepared, so it took a while. You had to pick it up at the counter. Unfortunately, the restaurant is past its prime and could use a renovation. Card payment was only possible at one cash register. Additionally, the staff was barely responsive that afternoon, so you had to ask your questions five times, which was quite frustrating.

Stuck on the floor... no one cares about the customer, minutes of waiting, no response

My colleague and I went there to get something to eat for our night shift. The service was very unfriendly, and I was even alone in the front. The food took forever to prepare, and then some of it was cold. It's a shame, really. On top of that, inappropriate comments were made, and customers were spoken to rudely.

When ordering, you should definitely point out that the burgers shouldn't have been sitting in the display for too long. Otherwise, the bread is very crispy. Which is what I've been doing lately, since I don't always feel like driving to Mühlburg.

Unfortunately, it's an older McDonald's; you can't collect points or redeem rewards, the food is often cold, and the employees are unfriendly and never really understand you.

I was at this location about a year ago, and hardly anything has changed. I wanted to try the Iced Matcha, the Grimace Shake, and other options with a friend due to the current "Around the World with McDonald's" promotion (July 17, 2025 - September 30, 2025). Since this location isn't listed in the official McDonald's app, we weren't able to check what's on offer. They didn't offer the Iced Matcha Latte and the Grimace Shake, so we ordered the cheeseburger-flavored MC Shaker Fries. The employee took our order for the MC Shaker Fries and a cheeseburger instead, which we were fortunately able to correct in time. We asked about the Samurai Burger and menu options for the MC Shaker Fries. He couldn't provide us with any information about the menu options and didn't know the Samurai Burger either. The food was delicious, but it's a shame that you can't find anything about the location in the app at the moment. A year ago, a friend and I ordered the MC plant nuggets, which were very good and tasted significantly better than the meat ones. My boyfriend wanted an Iced Coffee Shake Chocolate without ice cubes, which annoyed the employee, who then handed us our orders in a bad mood. The friendliness is still not optimal, although I understand that, as the job is probably very stressful.

I'm sitting here, September 19, 2025 At 10:40 PM. I literally once ordered the M with jalapenos, if possible, and a cheeseburger (there's no visible order summary display). I paid the outstanding amount, and the price was odd. I then tore off the receipt myself (from a roll of at least 20 receipts). It said, "The M, fries, cheeseburger." I immediately complained and politely said I didn't want fries, I wanted jalapenos, no fries. The employee claimed I ordered them and had to take them. It was paid for. Canceling is NOT possible. There's no plausible answer to the question "why?". I should take the fries. There's no refund. I didn't want fries or money back. I just wanted... fried jalapenos. I have to get something else. The burger was relatively fresh, but the bun unfortunately completely fell apart. The entire restaurant is completely filthy. I actually wonder when it was last cleaned. Good job for Team Wallraff. Was Last time there. Typical branch that shows how McDonald's shouldn't work: no coupons, no codes, incompetent, unpleasant staff.

Best McDonalds Karlsruhe good old school design is also still old McDonald's and in all McDonald's I have ever been to, I think it tastes best there, I can recommend it

Only drive-thru experience so far: Food takes forever, even for the simplest orders (like "two cheeseburgers"), and even taking the order is difficult because the employees either don't speak German well or the microphone/speaker system is completely inadequate.

I've been there twice now, and despite the lack of customers, it took a really, really long time. I'd rather go somewhere else now.

This has to be one of the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. It's like they've forgotten about this place. It's filthy inside, the staff is grumpy and can't remember orders. The fries are slow, so everything gets cold. White fries. The nuggets were okay, so there's not much that can go wrong there. I also ordered 4 McFluffy, and that was a complete disappointment. Ice cream in a cup that's practically already melted, with sauce and 10 Smarties. That's it. No Fluffy... The worst part is, my wife will never go to McDonald's again...

This McDonald's branch is by far the worst in the Karlsruhe area. - The food is always bad, the meat doesn't melt, the cheese isn't melted, really. The employees at the checkout—I don't really want to blame them, they probably can't even do anything about it, but they don't understand you and they constantly do something wrong or not at all. Even the food on site has to be checked over and over again because there's always something missing. The staff here needs to be addressed quickly because the cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired.

The microphone is right next to the children's playground—how can you order clearly? Coupons aren't accepted—so don't advertise if your employees are incompetent! Completely overworked staff who can't process orders correctly... What's the point?

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to do it for this store. We stood in the car queue for 20 minutes (3 cars ahead of us). We had ordered 3 hamburgers, 2 cheeseburgers, and 1 large fries. When we started eating, the burgers were lukewarm, and the fries were even worse (raw and completely pale). I went into the store and said I'd like a new fries (and asked, "Would you eat that?") In retrospect, I should have let the person who handed them out eat them in front of me. The woman at the cash register didn't even really acknowledge me, I felt like she could have said, "Wait a minute, it's full, I'll give you a new one." After 3 minutes, I slammed it onto a wall bracket on the counter to the left and left the store. My mistake was, I should have read the reviews. McDonald's isn't what it used to be; you really have to pick the stores beforehand. Sad.

Unfortunately, it was disastrous – ordering was difficult – it felt like a new employee (it would have been nice if someone had trained them) and it took forever at the checkout – the same goes for orders – half was there and the other half came little by little – until the first half was cold. My daughter ordered a wrap – and after asking three times, it only arrived after everyone had finished eating. The fries were very potato-like and not crispy – there was too much honey and mustard sauce in the wrap. Things just aren't going well. What a shame.

We were just there at 2:40 p.m. It was very busy, so we drove through. We had three hamburgers, two cheeseburgers, and a large portion of fries. The fries were still raw and the cheeseburger was missing ketchup. We then went into the branch to complain. We were just ignored!!!!! We weren't even offered a new portion of fries. We were so angry and disappointed with the behavior of the employees that we left the food at the checkout and left!!!!! We won't be visiting this branch again.

Disturbing voice tone at taking order... east European worker.. neither can speak german or English . If they don't understand someone they get angry..Behaviour is remarkable rough and tough. Such a bummer. I was just there, ordered a Happy Meal, cheeseburger, chicken burger, and fries at the MC Drive-In. When I got home, I noticed the fries were missing. I tried calling, but no one answered. I was overwhelmed with packing six things, and my approximately €3.40 was gone too!

I went to McDonald's in Karlsruhe. I drove to the branch at midnight. The branch is open until 1 a.m. I ordered at the drive-thru. The order was complicated. A new employee took it. He didn't seem to know exactly how to do it. But that wasn't the main problem. I received the bag with the food. Everything was complete – nothing was missing. But the food was completely cold. The Chicken McNuggets were really cold. They weren't crispy anymore either. I ordered two burgers. The bun was hard and dry. It was probably very old and had been sitting around for a long time. The Filet-O-Fish bun wasn't soft, like it should have been. It tasted like it was 5-6 hours old. They just gave it to me. I find that unbelievable.

Where should we begin? A relatively "difficult" branch. It's clean, but that's basically the case with all Bredberg branches. The screen in the drive-thru, which allowed you to see what the clerk had taken, hasn't worked for what feels like 10 years. Nobody cares. A screen to check the order entry is absolutely necessary, as there are almost never any native speakers among the employees. It's almost always broken German, you don't get well understood, and vice versa, they don't understand them very well. Recently, I placed a simple order in a restaurant, and suddenly, 3 different employees, one after the other or independently of each other, took care of my order, and all three asked me whether I wanted to eat in or take it out. Two of the three didn't really do anything, but just asked and then moved on to something else. When you give a voucher number to the cashier, they first pull out the voucher sheet, and then you have to point to the voucher with your hand, like in a hidden object book. In some cases, the food sits on the display too long, resulting in it drying out. In the past, I've had situations where two out of three orders (from the Drive-Thru) within a week were incorrect! Something was missing, something was wrong, or something else was always wrong. Everything there is incredibly exhausting... I miss the good old days of McDonald's.

After a long absence, we visited the McDonald's restaurant in Neureut again today. Each of us chose a menu item. Unfortunately, the cashier seemed unsympathetic. We ordered the new Chicken Big Mac, but it didn't live up to the expectations of a classic Big Mac. The burger bun was hard and didn't seem fresh, and the sauces were also of poor quality. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend a return visit. Furthermore, the restrooms were unsanitary.

I've ordered from this McDonald's twice in the last few days via Liferando, and both times I received chicken nuggets instead of the vegetarian ones I ordered. It can't really be that difficult to avoid making a mistake when ordering two items. Anyone reading this should avoid this branch.

We got something to go from McDonald's today. What we unpacked at home was a disgrace! The fries were almost raw, and the Big Tasty didn't look like a Big Tasty. The highlight was the cheeseburger...it consisted of a bun, meat, and cheese...the pickle, onions, and sauces were apparently simply forgotten. This was the last time we visited this McDonald's...we'd rather drive a bit to the next McDonald's and get the burgers and fries we're used to.

The young woman working there gave us regular nuggets instead of plant-based ones and then rudely yelled at us, saying we were lying and wouldn't exchange the order. After a five-minute discussion, a friendly employee gave us new ones.

May 26, 2025... 5:00 PM.... Now... A minute ago. The store is empty. The employees would rather chat than ask at the counter what the customer wants.... I've had enough. Never again at this McDonald's.... store.... Fast food at its finest... As so often, the fries were soggy. It's a disgrace to keep pointing out how bad the fries are. It annoys me to the extreme. I want hot, fresh fries, not those lukewarm fries that are constantly being kept. I pay a relatively high price for food at McDonald's, and in return, I expect freshly prepared "food." If customers were allowed to pay based on real value for money, that would be a genuine and honest innovation at McDonald's. The staff at this branch are currently very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the drink cups are also becoming increasingly unstable. When can I finally say something really good about this fast food chain?

We were at the restaurant on May 30, 2026, around 6:30 p.m. While I was waiting for my order and the receipt, other employees came in. They high-fived other colleagues and immediately started processing orders without washing their hands or observing any other hygiene regulations. While we were waiting, the server desperately tried to open the receipt printer with scissors, which had apparently not been working for some time. He said he had written an email about it yesterday, but the printer still wasn't working. The marks from the attempts to open it also seemed to be older. In any case, he couldn't get the printer open, so there was no receipt, and luckily he didn't injure himself in the process. The fries were only slightly warm, more like cold; the new Big Tasty® Bacon BBQ had no BBQ flavor and tasted slightly burnt, and was quite hard and lukewarm to the bite. The bun fell apart at the first bite, and I had the salad in my hand. There was a lid for the Coke, but a straw that came with it, which I was told was only for milkshakes. This was my first visit to this chain in about eight years. I think I'll give myself plenty of time before my next visit. Maybe if there's nothing else I can do, I'll go to McDonald's again. The tray return lines were beyond overflowing; we could only carefully slide our trays somewhere between them with difficulty. The entrance door slammed shut with a loud bang every time it was opened. A restaurant where you feel comfortable, enjoy sitting there, and can enjoy your food is something else in my opinion. In retrospect, I'm glad I haven't been to this chain for a while.

Guys, if you want to bring this company down, then keep doing what you're doing!! What I just got here is absolutely outrageous... I threw it out the window at the first opportunity.

Top-notch service: the line was processed quickly, and the wings were brought to the table (don't forget it). - Burgers (even the special order) - Nuggets and wings The fries were bad. If my white skin is darker, there's something wrong with the time or the temperature of the fryer. It was like this about 2-3 weeks ago. The "fire alarm" sound every 2 minutes was negative. I know this is regulated by MC, but the volume could definitely be adjusted.

Apparently, the owners changed some time ago. Since then, the service has been extremely poor. The McFlurry seems to always be sold out, if you can believe it. The employees don't seem to be interested in it. It's a very bad image not only for this branch, but for McDonald's in general.

As you know from McDonald's. But what stands out here is that it's still old-fashioned without the self-service panels etc. I thought it was cool.

Actually, it could be such a good McDonald's if everything worked there. You haven't been able to redeem points from the Mecces app for 3 years, the store is old and has no machines that every Mc has these days and the best thing is yet to come. You have to redeem all the coupons individually, which means you first have to redeem a coupon then pay because 2 at the same time doesn't work with them and then take the next coupon and redeem it again and then pay and now they do it with a family of 5. Have fun just put the money in take your hand and redo and renovate everything and then the shop will be great

If I could give zero stars I would. I advise everyone not to eat here. It's better to take the further route to the city center. We went in and were confused because no one came to the counter. Went out again to check that it was even open. Outside we met an employee who put us off by saying that she would have a smoke first. Okay, all clear. All right. At some point a nice man came inside and took our order. Hardly anyone could understand us and luckily we checked the order because half of it was missing. I asked and then I was shocked. My spicy nuggets were taken out of an old nugget packaging (not in the thermal bridge) (with my bare hand) and put into my new package. I don't want to know how long they had been sitting there. The shop was basically really dirty, you couldn't go to the toilets anymore. To make matters worse, I can now pay for an interior cleaning. My drink had the wrong lid on it and the paper was completely soaked, which is why when I picked it up (I'm not stupid and I lift by the lid) everything ended up in my car. Everything went well with the electrical system, thank you to McDonalds Neureut for that. I hope for your sake that nothing is broken about it.

Just really bad. When you go to McDonalds, you really don't have high expectations, but this McDonalds here is absolutely not good, burgers are bad, fries are catastrophic, dirty and and and... Better a few kilometers further

It's not bad, it's just like McDonald's, you know, the food in Poland is different from that in Germany. A small difference in taste, but you can't complain. I recommend.

Great team, always friendly, standard German, no long waiting times, no matter how busy the crowd is. Unfortunately no McCafé :-/ Update 2025: Unfortunately only negative things to report: WiFi no longer available. Reception in the dining area with an electric network is not possible. Offers above checkout incomplete. When asked whether there was also the “M”, the answer was “yes”, although it was not obvious. The McDonald’s app is also not accepted! So if you want to order on the go and then pick up your order at a later time, you cannot select this location. Logically, there are no bonus points. Last but not least, the time of German students is probably over. Crumbling German with questions like: “Eat here?” are still understandable, but something else should be considered standard at the checkout. All in all, I give it a rating of 3 stars.

The worst McDonald's I've ever visited. A far cry from the quality that the company promotes so much and insists on so vehemently. Burger bun burnt, patty still RAW, salad old and fries tough and cold. Freshly prepared looks different. Service from McDonald’s guest service in Munich and guest service in Karlsruhe was poor. I waited for feedback from the guest service in Munich and the guest service in Karlsruhe before I wrote the review here. No insight, very disappointing. There was only the statement with the quality standards and the invitation to view the restaurant from the “inside”. Oh and the note that RAW meat is not harmful to your health! Totally disappointed with the restaurant - guest service Munich & guest service Karlsruhe.

Normal McDonald's service ok, sometimes a bit unfriendly

The worst MCD we have ever visited. The staff is unfriendly, unmotivated and completely overwhelmed, even when there are no other customers there, orders are carried out incorrectly. “Freshly” prepared burgers and fries, but already cold when you eat at the table. It's dirty everywhere, the ordering counter is sticky and greasy, as are the tables and chairs. The floor also seems to come into little contact with cleaning products. The fact that you eat something there and then “hug” the toilet several times is probably no coincidence and is self-inflicted. Better to go hungry than to visit the place. Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars.

I had to wait over half an hour for four burgers and four apple turnovers. People totally overwhelmed with six customers at the checkout. And the best part came at the end, when I got home I unpacked them and out of the four products with the Monopoly game, three of them already had the glue gone.

The curly fries were leathery and cold. Burger sadly of mediocre quality. The service somehow works, but could be better. The atmosphere is old-fashioned and 'shabby', not very clean. Overall I can't recommend the restaurant.

3 valid Monopoly codes did not work. Lack of commitment and willingness to help from employees. The man at the checkout is very unsympathetic, mean and answers rudely while serving MC Drive and half ignoring me. He claims that Monopoly codes are only valid at certain times. That's not true ! I think that if you offer promotions and opportunities to win, you should give these winnings to your customers, help them with problems and find a way out of the situation if there is an error in your app.

I don't think I've ever been to a worse McDonald's... tables all dirty, floor sticky and dirty and the toilets are an absolute disaster! I hardly dared to wash my hands, let alone touch the toilet handles. Regarding service: I came in, not a good day. Just a sticking out, wagging tongue from a gentleman who was on a video call. That was very unsavory... The two men who were standing behind the counter fled when they saw me and so I waited for a few minutes until someone finally came from behind. The Filet-o-Fish we ordered was also a disaster. I've never had such a terrible filet-o-fish! The edges are all already dried out (about 1cm all around). I don't even want to know how long it had been there... fries were ok. In short: Next time I'll get a sandwich from the gas station 🙈

Something is always missing. Additionally today at McDrive. The employees simply take off the Monopoly stickers. The Nuggets had their sticker peeled off. It's really a disgrace.

Orders are NOT possible in the McDonald's APP!! Not even listed! MC Drive 6 minutes in front of the dark screen... At first I thought it was broken until someone said wait a minute... There was very little going on Food too greasy!!! The citizens are completely done! Otherwise just normal McD...

The waiting times are now unbearable at almost any time of the day. 10 to 15 minutes are not uncommon and then various components of the order are often used up and have to be fried again... It's a shame.

Definitely clean! Find it very comfortable here! Clean and has everything McD offers.
