McDonald's in Kiel

I've had extremely bad experiences at this McD's, several weeks apart. Each time, I had to wait at least 20 minutes, and each time, the fries were only in the fryer for a very, very short time. They were practically white and cracked when you bit into them, truly disgusting. The employees were completely overwhelmed every time. By far the worst McD's I've ever visited anywhere (!).

The visit itself was okay, but I would generally like to see more cleanliness at the tables. It's rare to find a table that isn't still covered in ketchup and grease from the previous diners.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. My daughter had a burger that was so flat it was missing almost everything. I had a chicken meal and I still feel sick. The tables weren't wiped, the floor was sticky everywhere, the restrooms were okay. Almost no one spoke German, and no one wore gloves. Hygiene is a 6. Not recommended!!!!!! I'll probably not want to eat McDonald's for a few years.

I've eaten here 5 times while driving by. Each time, I waited between 15 and 30 minutes for two burgers. Not that I wouldn't understand under different circumstances, but a short wait is essential. I go here because it's fast food, not because the prices or quality are that good. You have to understand, but it's definitely clean.

The food was cold and the app didn't work on-site. When I tried to return the food, it was sent away. We ordered at the drive-thru, pulled into the parking lot because I like to double-check my order, and then noticed the food was cold. I then went to the McDonald's. The employee turned me away, saying it's normal for the food to cool down while driving. I don't know which runway or city tour they sold me instead of the drive-thru, but please – if someone drives in there, be careful; it must be a speed-of-light window. Because even the receipt with the time stamp didn't matter. Terrible conditions The ambiance looks like it's everywhere, unmistakable.

We were at this branch yesterday (July 31st at 5:30 p.m.). Some of the food was cold, the employees were overwhelmed, the return cart was hopelessly overflowing, but the worst, most disgusting, and certainly most pathogenic thing were the restrooms. I've honestly never seen anything so awful. We're definitely not going back to this branch.

We waited over 30 minutes for two Happy Meals. We had to specify our order, but we didn't get any fruit, drinks, toys, or sauce. As a result, the order took five minutes with a very incompetent lady. We had to repeat the question of whether the children could choose a toy three times before the colleague finally understood and served us.

Because your order has to wait forever and you get cold food, really bad

We regularly visit this McDonald's branch and are always very satisfied. The employees are consistently friendly and cheerful – you simply feel welcome. The food has always been fresh and hot, and the orders are always correct. Definitely one of the best McDonald's experiences for us! Keep it up!

I come here often because it's close to me. It's just sad to see how the quality keeps getting worse. You want a change in the menu, but it's impossible due to the language barrier, just like if you want to get the ice cream from the menu later because it's melting. If the fries aren't fresh but are soggy, you get a strange look. The staff is unfriendly. Why don't they hire people who enjoy working with people? McDonald's is just getting worse.

Actually it's okay, but at Mc Drive you always have to check the bags to make sure you get what you ordered.

The lovely "everything freshly prepared" concept has devolved into utter chaos, at least at the McDonald's on Theodor-Heuß Ring. During peak hours, the crew can't seem to get anything done. Waiting 30 minutes for a €30 order? For fast food? No, that's not possible. Edit: By 2025, things will have gotten EVEN WORSE. Endless wait times. Both at the drive-thru and in the restaurant. Sweaty employees who are completely stressed out.

"One star is too many! Blatant rip-off at McDonald's drive-thru. Today at the McDonald's drive-thru: The long line wasn't even the problem. When it was finally my turn, I ordered three chicken burgers and two large milkshakes from an employee with limited German skills. At the checkout, I received: 1. Only one large and one small milkshake (instead of two large ones) - which I initially accepted without question. 2. A bag with only two burgers (instead of three) - which I only noticed later. 3. Incorrect change: I gave a €50 bill. The receipt showed €12.XX. Instead of the correct €37.XX change, I only received a crumpled €30 - €7 less! This triple rip-off (wrong drinks, missing burger, not enough money) is an absolute disgrace!

I was cheated out of the deposit for a reusable cup. I wanted to eat at the restaurant and chose to do so to save plastic and paper. Unfortunately, I handed over my receipt when I picked up my drink, and they gave me a glass and then told me there's no deposit for that, only for these reusable plastic cups. I hope it was an oversight and not a scam.

I have always had good experiences there

I stopped here for a quick bite today at 7:15 p.m. A very friendly and competent shift manager brought my ordered food to my table very quickly. All the food was hot and freshly prepared. I highly recommend this clean branch.

As you would expect, the service is friendly and, after occasional visits over the years, there has been no reason for complaint.

20 nuggets without a SINGLE SAUCE McMart meal without fries, without mayo, without a drink. Unfriendly staff just hangs up if you have a complaint. We've never encountered such friendly staff at McDonald's. Several employees asked if everything was okay and if the food tasted good. We weren't used to that. Great service.

Always open, no matter what your needs are. The burgers are usually hot, and the restrooms are almost always very clean. My favorite branch in Kiel. Update 2025: The restrooms have become a disaster. One stall was dirty, and the toilet seat was on the floor in another! I'd rather not bother with that... One star less for that 😕

My plant-based Happy Meal didn't contain plant-based nuggets, but chicken nuggets. The toy was also missing :/, and of the three sauces we ordered, only one arrived. We didn't order much more than that, so luckily the rest arrived as expected.

A very, very dirty place. The inside is absolutely filthy. The slides have apparently been dirty for years. The food doesn't taste typical of McDonald's either.

Like always, I had to wait 25 minutes for my food, even though there were only two people in front of me. The staff was nice, and the food was like any other McDonald's, but the wait times at this branch are awful.

The store was absolutely cheeky. I ordered two large Minecraft menus and were given little surprises. I only noticed this after I got home... Well then again and asked about the big surprises. Their answer: “We don’t have any big surprises” How cheeky to add little surprises - the main thing is that you don't notice! But I was still allowed to pay the full price!

Aber das ist noch nicht alles, ich habe den falschen Bürger bekommen dann endlich den richtigen jedoch mit der falschen Soße drauf obwohl ich 3 mal sagte welche Soße ich bestellt hatte dann die falschen Dips alles kalt einfach nur unfähig das Personal!!!!!!!!!

Usually not bad, i mostly get what i pay for except like once... this time I noticed the straw got soggy really fast because i was trying to drink the "iced shake choc oreo" and HALF of the cup is filled with ice cubes (4.69€ btw)... took me 15 seconds to drink

Absolute juice shop! A few weeks ago I had to spend over 15 minutes waiting for a McMuffin in the car in the morning to get warts. You have to ask yourself why, apparently there were no rolls there. Proactively inform customers, nothing happened & suddenly it worked. Given a new chance today, we all make mistakes sometimes. No customer far away, drive-in counter, voice: "Wait a moment" again nothing happened, drove away after 5 minutes. A cheeky thing, this way of dealing with customers, what do they actually do for a living?

The food and cleanliness are very satisfactory. Service is quick. I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, the term fast food has to be acknowledged here. 50 minutes in the MC drive is a mess. It was probably rush hour but in a big city you have to be better prepared for it. The employee when ordering and paying was impossible.

Rarely have I seen employees in these fast food restaurants show so much dislike for their own dishes as in this one. At least when customers are watching, you should have the appearance that you are working hygienically and not throwing the piece of meat (or whatever) from the counter onto the roll with your bare hands. The order took over 25 minutes from payment to receipt of the food. But at least the food was warm and good Especially when you only have a short time, it's really stupid.

I've never waited so long in the drive even though there was nothing going on. First I wait in line for 15 minutes and then another 10 at the window. It doesn't work that way at all. You can also save a lot by ordering via app.

We had dinner there on a Sunday evening and it was full, too full. The result was that the food in a fast food restaurant came after 35 minutes and was then cold. It sucked. The service tried to combat this, which is the only reason for the 2nd star. The constant beeping of a deep fryer and the amount of people simply made the stay unpleasant. We won't go there again.

What a shame, we were missing a burger. The lady on the phone said they didn't order anything like that, sorry we know what we ordered and paid for. When she found out that we were in the right, she just hung up. That's what I call professional. That was in the Theodor Heuss Ring.

First we waited over 30 minutes for two menus, then they were BOTH incomplete, the cola tasted stale and there was more ice in it than anything else, burgers (when we got them) were cold, the fries unsalted. The staff is extremely unfriendly, barks and is annoyed. If you want to be really disgusted, I recommend going to the toilets there, I've never experienced anything so dirty!

Actually, it used to be one of the best McDonald's branches in Kiel... but it's now really dismantled. Waiting times were far too long - sometimes we waited 45 minutes for the food. And then there were always mistakes when preparing the orders. Sometimes the fries were missing, then the drinks or the BigMac. Really a shame :-(

In itself it's okay as a branch, but today - once again - I only received 3 of the 4 items I ordered, which is particularly annoying in the MC Drive. What do you want to do? Disassemble the entire order to see whether all the food ordered is distributed in the car, but in case of doubt, see what is missing or risk someone staying hungry? Both crap, unfortunately not an isolated case...🥴

Ich habe des öfteren in dieser Filiale Essen geholt. Sowohl MC Drive, als auch am Terminal Essen bestellt. Beim MC Drive hat es ewig gedauert. Daraufhin bin ich beim nächsten Besuch hinein gegangen. Ein Terminal war nur funktionsfähig. Trotz Nachfrage und Bitte sich darum zu kümmern kam erst jemand als schließlich auch das Vierte und Letzte ausgefallen ist. An der Kasse durfte man auch nicht bestellen. Das Personal wirkt total überfordert. Ich kann auch nur raten das Eingepackte zu kontrollieren. Letztes mal fehlten wieder die Saucen. Da es oft lange dauert ist das Essen auch schon kalt. Ich weiß nicht was passiert ist. Hat das Management gewechselt? Vom früheren Stammpersonal ist auch kaum noch jemand da. Meiner Familie reicht es jedenfalls. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

While waiting, another customer was complained by the shift manager that they didn't want to pay by card and said: "If you don't have a card with you these days, it would go much faster, you don't have to wait, you expected." When asked where our order number is on the monitor, we were told that there were too many tickets and they just print everything out. The shift manager also threatened another employee that he wouldn't be able to finish work now because the store was full and that otherwise he would have to close the store, and that he can't do that now, what does he think? You can also say that everyone was very stressed but at the same time super disorganized and unfriendly. And just a reminder, the ladies' conditioner also needs to be repaired.

Clean restaurant with reliable and fast service. Preparation of the food. The ambience is typical McDonald's and can therefore only be pleasant and relaxed to a limited extent, although it is one of the best I have been able to visit so far. Overall, it does what you expect from an MC's and, as always, tastes acceptable for the price and, above all, fresh.

I had to wait 35 minutes for my take-out order early yesterday afternoon. My request as to whether we could get 2 additional toys due to the long waiting time was brusquely rejected. At home we noticed that out of two Happymeal bags only one contained a toy. In 30 years of Mcdonald's experience, this is by far the most chaotic store where an estimated one in three orders went wrong in the past...

Absolute disgrace today! For a long time now, almost every order had been missing something. But today we went into the next round. We have 45!!!!! We had to wait minutes until we finally received our order after repeated requests, even though the store was almost empty! To make matters worse, not only was the mayo missing but there was also the wrong burger in the packaging!!! That doesn't work at all! It was the last time we were in this disorganized juice shop! We previously ordered 2 menus to take away. The cola didn't have a bit of carbon dioxide, the burgers were only lukewarm and when the son wanted to eat his fries, there was a thread of slime hanging on the fries, as if someone had spit into the container beforehand.
