McDonald's in Mainz

McDonald's is good, but I won't be going back because of the parking. You get a fine if you overstay by a few minutes. Never going there again, and I won't go to the other places where they have similar options.

We arrived at 2:20 and lined up at the drive-thru because we couldn't get in. The employees took 12 minutes to order. We got there at 3:05, and then they told us we were late! I then told them we'd been waiting for over 40 minutes, and they told us, "Yes, we saw the people before, so we should have known we wouldn't get in!"

Absolutely terrible. Burgers weren't reheated, small fries instead of large ones... Three months after the original review, still absolutely terrible. Fries served old and cold, bag not folded when handed out, drink lids not secured, and almost spilled into the car. Truly questionable how such poor service can be achieved by staff.

Always feels like there is only one employee there around the clock, you can't get to the McDrive quickly here, you always wait at least 15 minutes

The fries were cold, and the burgers looked like they'd already been eaten. Furthermore, the display on the food pickup screen was completely wrong. After about 10 minutes, our number was displayed, but it wasn't it. None of the numbers were correct. Fifteen minutes later, our food was finally ready...

Despite the fact that my order was unfortunately forgotten, I'm giving the service five stars. Forgotten orders happen. And because the employee, who could possibly be the store manager, apologized and offered a free dessert, I'm completely satisfied. The food was also at a very good temperature. The only thing I have to criticize is the number of tables with crumbs. Unfortunately, time often doesn't seem to allow for a wet wipe, which would be important and contribute to customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately, it was very dirty... it wasn't busy, but the floor was sticky, the tables and benches were dirty, and the restroom, especially the sink and hand dryer, were disgusting. The staff stood relaxed behind the counter, and there were several customers complaining about the long wait times. Unfortunately, there have been better times there.

You spend two hours on a Thursday evening eating at McDonald's, where you spend money and get fined for parking too long.

A leisurely visit to McD's after work. Shortly afterward, I received a letter demanding payment for exceeding the parking time in the McD's customer parking lot (!). A charge of €35. Now that's what I call customer-friendly, or simply a rip-off. Last visit from me and my work colleagues.

After more than a year, I was back here after a movie, and I quickly realized why I'd been avoiding the place for so long: I could only find two tables that weren't dirty. And it was really quiet at the time. Meanwhile, several employees were standing behind the counter, presumably unemployed. I know nothing about chain restaurants, but cleanliness should be a higher priority in this system. So, I immediately left the store. Addendum: I've clicked through the other reviews and am very surprised that, given the abundance of negative criticism that has been evident at this branch for a long time, none of the people in charge seem to take the feedback seriously to improve things for the benefit of the customers. HEY, branch manager! In the restaurant industry, HYGIENE and FRIENDLINESS are two of the most important criteria. Talk to your team and change something!

So, I understand that everything is being rationalized. That you can't expect service at McDonald's is also true. But: I wanted two straws, and one was handed to me so rudely, and when I asked for a second one for my husband, there was a rude comment. We're talking about two cardboard straws, nothing out of the question!!! Never ever! You can be friendly even at a fast food restaurant!

They constantly forget something in the drive-thru...and then they make you wait for 15 minutes...during your 30-minute lunch break. It's handled completely unprofessionally! This happens more than once...it happens almost EVERY time...I don't even leave the counter until I've counted EVERYTHING, and there's NEVER a free burger or fries as an excuse...NEVER! Considering you've been ripped off, it's very unfriendly to customers. My colleagues prefer to drive to the Haifa Avenue commercial area further away...

I can only give it the maximum number of stars. I've been coming to this McDonald's every now and then since I was a child. For a long time it was my favorite McDonald's in Mainz. Then there was a long phase in between when this McDonald's seemed completely lacking in love and completely overwhelmed. But now friends, I'm telling you - go away. The branch has a really kind-hearted woman who walks through the McDonald's during her shift, hands out free ice cream samples, asks the customers if everything is okay, and takes an active interest in the customers and the cleanliness of the McDonald's. I've never experienced anything like it. Plus, all the employees seem super attentive, friendly and simply create a feel-good atmosphere! McDonald's does everything right that can be done right and even goes the extra mile. I would definitely recommend it. My only criticism - please put a bit more care into the burgers 🍔. Unfortunately, mine arrived pretty crooked at the table, but that's overlooked because it still tasted really good. To the entire team, keep up the good work. You can see that your excellent leadership is reflected in the entire team. Great!

I've never had such long waits at a McDonald's as here. It's a disaster, every time.

Tables and floors are dirty every time. Tablet return carts are always full. Service is getting worse and worse. The food made me feel unwell, and the quality is declining, even though the processes are standardized. High staff turnover, with new employees joining every month.

Despite the fact that there were no other customers in the drive-thru area at the time, the wait times proved to be unreasonably long and unacceptable. Edit: Chicken Big Mac was missing despite being billed.

ABSOLUTELY NEGATIVE!! During my last visit a few months ago, I was terribly upset that we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. Today we've been waiting for 30 minutes again, and if everything goes according to plan, we'll probably wait even longer this time. It's unbelievable that you have to wait longer at a fast food place than at a restaurant!!! When I asked why it was taking so long, I received rude replies and was called disrespectful. I was told to sit down and wait for my food!

The waitress gets grumpy and rude if you pay with a 50-euro note, and you won't get a straw with your drink even if you ask. This place is a total disaster.

Cleanliness: Not so good! Despite the lack of customers, the staff is completely disorganized, and the "boss" is in charge of the employees, shouting at you even when you politely ask if everything is ready for pickup according to the notice and nothing is ready yet! This could, of course, also optimize the statistics for ordering, preparation, and pickup!

I ordered and paid through Lieferando. After over 40 minutes, nothing had happened with my order, so I called. The person on the phone said they weren't receiving any orders and couldn't do anything. I've never experienced anything like this in my life.

The atmosphere here is a disaster. If the beeping of the machines doesn't give you sudden hearing loss, you're lucky. It's too loud to have a conversation. The food, as always, is fresh and of a high standard.

Completely overwhelmed employees trying to meet McDonald's standards. Disaster!

Ordered 3 meals at the drive-thru. One forgot a French fry, one was upside down in the bag. All 3 ordered sauces were also forgotten. It takes a lot to perform such a simple task so poorly!

Be careful, if you're not from the city, you have to be careful if you want to park there. Unfortunately, I had nowhere else to go and had to get there quite early, partly because I had to wait for them to open. But even if you sit there the whole time and order something, you still have to pay a penalty! What a disgrace! I would understand if you didn't eat or buy anything. But as a customer, I'll think twice about going there again next time. Rip-off!

My daughter wanted to go there for breakfast, so I did because I'm nice. It was an experience, and it was okay. I'm curious to see if I'll go there again at that time of day. The hot chocolate was too watery, the roll was good, but that combination takes courage. The price was too high and not appropriate, but at least I had a good seat.

Update 05.2025: The terminals react very slowly to the input and payment by card is rejected at irregular intervals. When paying in cash, it is advisable to check the change immediately. Over 30 minutes of waiting time even though there wasn't much activity.

The service is a disaster. Way too slow. The rag for the coffee didn't look appetizing. We won't eat here anymore.

Unfortunately I can't choose any minus stars for friendliness. We were just at MC Donalds in Mainz-Hechtsheim. We came across a very annoyed young employee on the drive who cashed in on us, turned around and walked away. We thought it was to get change. When she came back she sent us straight to the issue. I was so perplexed and went to the second window. Our food was handed out straight away, I told the employee that we didn't get a receipt or change. He gave me the receipt (which said that I had paid appropriately/which was definitely not the case) and said he would take care of it and we should wait a moment. After a long wait, the lady in question came and gave me a “part” of the remaining money and complained to me that we had paid it appropriately and, thanks to me, her cash register was now incorrect. I've never been treated like this! I'm really shocked!

DriveIn is a disaster. It takes longer than any other McDonalds. Restaurant orders are also taking longer than usual.

We were at the drive-thru. At first it all seemed like the system wasn't working. 10 minutes of dead silence while 2 cars waited at the counter in front of us. But the most important thing: I ordered a vegetarian burger and got a random piece of fried meat (looked like crispy chicken) on it, which firstly was an absolute nonsense and secondly it didn't even have anything to do with the burger I ordered. The rest of the burger, however, was as ordered. So there was no mix-up. The package was also marked veggy. I try really hard to write mostly good reviews. But this time it was just such a bummer that I unfortunately have to do it. Vegetarians/vegans in particular experience this so often and it is simply disrespectful.

Very dirty, food cold (given back) and the new one just as cold. No, nothing was going on. Very very shabby. I will never visit again.

The restaurant was very dirty, especially the tables and the tray trolley, where used trays were piled up without being cleared away in a timely manner. The green numbers of orders that had already been delivered were also not removed, which led to confusion. What was particularly annoying was that our order number suddenly disappeared from the system, even though our order wasn't ready yet. The service also left a lot to be desired - a younger employee seemed overwhelmed and also treated us with rudeness. Due to the lack of hygiene and organization, we ultimately decided to eat our food on the hood of our car instead of in the restaurant. The branch and department management should urgently intervene here to improve cleanliness, service and processes.

Clean, McDonald's offering good

Something is forgotten in 99% of McDrive orders. This has been the case for years. Until you go back to get the missing parts, everything else becomes cold. It's also annoying to have to go there again.

Food is okay so far, but there is probably a bit of cheating here in terms of time! You order from the displays, which are completely hanging. Then you go to the collection point with the receipt and wait until your own number appears. Then you go to the counter and are told that the food isn't ready yet. Why does it click ready for pickup even though you still have to wait almost 5 minutes. I hope the boss of the restaurant reads this. The employees here are probably kidding their boss about the working hours per order.. I see this within the time in which I eat my menu. 3 tables where something has to be reported again because something is missing or wrong.. Are you going? You have to know!

I probably won't go there again. The food was somewhat okay, the service was very friendly and helpful, but the cooking area, as far as you could see from the counter, seemed very unclean and greasy. The toilets, which is often how you measure a catering establishment, were totally unkempt and dirty. There wasn't so much going on that it would have gotten so dirty in two hours can ground. My wife came out of the toilet without having done anything and wanted to go somewhere else.

We ordered 2 menus and 2 additional cheeseburgers. All burgers and all fries were cold. Cold doesn't even mean anything warmed up. This shouldn't be possible for so much money now. Since we were hungry, I didn't say anything. But I'll avoid McDonald's, no matter where. It's just expensive crap.

I ordered a 9 piece with sweet/sour sauce, got sweet/sour sauce 9 times, complained and said we can't exchange it, just have to order it again, Can only say if this is service……..:.!

I was recently at McDonald's in Mainz and would like to express my disappointment at an unpleasant experience. First of all, I have to say that the food was good and we, three people, enjoyed eating and of course paid for it. We felt comfortable in the restaurant and the stay was pleasant, which is why we stayed there longer than usual to chat. Unfortunately, this stay was overshadowed by a very unpleasant surprise: after spending over 2.5 hours there, I parked my car in the restaurant's parking lot. To my disappointment, I later received a ticket for exceeding the 90 minute parking limit. I find it very outrageous that if you eat in a restaurant and pay for it, you also have to pay a traffic ticket. The ambience of McDonald's Mainz invites you to stay longer, eat and chat with friends. In this respect, I think it is inappropriate that customers are punished for staying a little longer. I hope for a solution to this problem because I don't see the point of having to pay extra for a situation like this. I am open to changing my rating positively if this case is resolved to my satisfaction.

I waited 20 minutes for drive in today, unbelievable and the food didn't taste good!!!!

Unfortunately the opening time was set at 8 a.m. and so I had to wait 30 minutes in the cold.. . When they opened I was greeted very warmly. I then ordered something. When I was finished I was given a new type of cookie (free) for waiting outside for 30 minutes. I think it's very nice here and recommend it to everyone.

The food is just McDonald's but what I find very disappointing is that you are the only guest at the checkout and there is nothing going on, but you are still asked to wait because the private conversation is more important

Absurdly dirty toilets. Ordered a latte to drink there = paper cup. It's freezing cold in there and you should avoid the toilets. The main thing is that there are parking lot surveillance signs everywhere.

McDonald = McDonald? No, there are differences. Actually, I only go to this one because it's so close to the motorway and the parking spaces are practically in front of the door, but everything else works here too. The restaurant and the toilets are very clean, the service is friendly, even if you repeatedly ask for napkins.

Food and drink was OK. When the pickup number was called, the order had just started, so it was better to have it brought to the table.

We froze our asses off this morning!!! At the beginning of January it's warmer outside than inside 🥶 I first had to get my thick winter jacket and scarf out of the car. Toilets are more like train stations. And also very dirty in the restaurant (dust, dirt, stains) Table service was friendly, food OK. We won't be coming back - Ciao👋

Waited forever for the order - slow staff - the shop smelled like a drain and the Big Rösti had the wrong toppings and the patty was totally dry. Overall, one of the worst McDondalds visits in my life

Unfortunately it has gotten worse and below average with this one Branch. It takes forever. Unfortunately, the friendly staff don't always understand everything due to the language barrier. The ordering terminals hang up and you are thrown out of the ordering process on the company's own app. And again you have to check EVERY order and if necessary be patient. When it comes to glass sales, there is never enough in stock. Sorry McDonald's.

Service is subpar, staff doesn't understand German, team leader is cheeky just because they were told I don't eat burgers where there is a sticker with bacon on the packaging. Since the burger was cold, I assume that the bacon was simply pulled out and served. You get coffee and tea there, even if you eat it there, in paper cups, which are completely smeared with coffee. Disgusting. Everything comes cold and things are forgotten too often. Guys, if you eat there, triple check your order

Located right next to the highway. Nice and friendly staff. The burgers are actually always well “assembled” and not carelessly thrown together. Be careful when parking: As is usual these days, automatic surveillance lurks here and it gets expensive if you exceed 90 minutes. But in the restaurant practically all the walls are papered with warnings and you don't fall into the trap that happened to me there a few years ago!

Was there again to get two McFlurries. Regardless of the fact that the ice cream machine is often “broken” and you then go there for free, my visit today was once again unbelievable. 2 cars in front of me and it took about 22 minutes from order to finish. Long story short: Ordered McFlurry, paid for it, waited forever, was told there was no more cookie dough but I should wait a moment, there might be some, but there isn't any left, money back and bye. This store is a disaster.

The staff are always super friendly with our children. The food is like all McDonalds.

Every time something is missing from the order. Prices are getting higher and the quality is getting worse. On-site staff are mostly unfriendly and overwhelmed with a few exceptions. I can only recommend everyone to carefully check the order in MC Drive, you shouldn't have blind trust, because then you will usually quickly be disappointed again.

I ordered a crispy chicken menu and a fanta. What I actually got was a Coke Zero and a Big Mac. The only thing that was right was the fries. Unfortunately, I noticed it too late to go back. But you should also pack the right things even when you are stressed.

Order terminals only work sporadically; the order then took about 15-20 minutes. Part of the order was simply forgotten. The whole thing with constant, loud beeping from various devices. The 5 different beeps that were heard continuously caused a moderate headache within a very short time.

Eating cold, long waiting times and bones in the nugget, something like that is not something to announce

Total waiting time, 19 minutes for a standard menu is simply not fast food but a sign of false marketing. That was my last visit here. By the way, the menu was cold when I finally got it and the burger was soggy and the fries were partly undercooked.

Who doesn't know that you always go to Mäcke's once a year. The service is great in Hechtsheim, very friendly staff and if something doesn't fit, they try very hard to make it fit again. Thank you for that!

As a rule, you know what quality you get at McDonald's, but this McDonald's scores with even worse quality. The latest highlight, ordered a hamburger without onions and cucumber, got a hamburger with half burnt bread and no sauces... Something like that is not allowed to go out to customers...

The responsible health authority really needs to act urgently here! Urgent!!!

Absolute disaster... I'm really used to something different at McDonald's. Employees' feet are sore and we wait 20 minutes even though we only ordered 4 things and there was nothing going on. The order was still missing sauces and the toppings in general for the Mc Flurry. Absolutely not recommended.

The side salad with the menu is just ridiculous.

Unfortunately, the fries are never edible and are always soggy. And every time I order a McFlurry. And every time it is not mixed with the machine. Not even if I explicitly ask for it when ordering. Every time I have to ask for it again and then I get dirty looks. Duration at McDrive until delivery underground.

Never waited so long for ice cream

I waited 10 min under the mc drive for someone to serve me. I did not live to see... I went inside, where I waited 20 min for food, ice cream I got melted , mc wrap hard, it was impossible to eat. Tragedy...

The business here is completely filthy! There are napkins, leftover food and garbage everywhere on the floor. There is no question of long waiting times and no need to broom or clean up! Personally, I think this should be changed suddenly!

The service is really top! The blonde lady with the glasses and the tattoos was super friendly and gave our kids a little joy. 🫶🏼

Bad employees, especially at the checkout in the drive-thru

I just wanted to quickly go to the MC Donald drive in, ordered in advance via the app. I am ignored my order is still not ready after 30 minutes. 5 cars after me were served. The staff was approached several times and there was no response! After entering the restaurant I demand my money back and my order is promptly in front of me. I've lost my appetite and I'm demanding my money back. What's going on, I'm just mad 40 minutes for nothing!!!

The Mac's have been around in Hechtsheim for a long time, but the condition 3 days ago was OMG, just disgusting, the floor and tables are sticky. You don't want to touch the front door at all. The clearing station may have been cleaned a year ago and much more. You don't even want to know what the "kitchen" looks like, I don't eat there anymore.

Rarely seen such a disgusting branch. Every table was empty and every table was dirty. Employees didn't seem to care. Food drop off was full. We don't know how long it has been. Everything outside was full of rubbish on the ground. Food was good. But difficult to enjoy in the dirt. I have no idea what's going wrong here... Maybe it was football and they were overrun.

I stood at the drive-in counter for almost 5 minutes without anyone answering. A queue had now formed. I then went to the branch to point this out. The employees just understood my comment and sent a colleague to the DriveIn counter. I didn't receive an apology or any small compensation. That's a shame and would certainly have prevented me from writing such a bad review. This branch used to be better. (I then ate something inside. And the drink came wrong. Unfortunately I will avoid the branch in the future)

So it's late, but this McDonald's is really disgusting. Toilets were dirty and disgusting, every tanlett cart was full and the food tasted like it was from hours ago and was very bad even by McDonald's standards. Not to mention that the order from 3 citizens and an empty restaurant took more than 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, when I look at all the complaints here, it explains a lot. Incompetent employees and all that :) But you should really notice that half of the burger is missing before you pack it up!
