Very, very delicious food and excellent service.

It was our first time there and it was as good as we'd been told. The food was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back.

The food tastes good in itself. Dishes aren't always prepared the way you'd expect them to be in their respective countries. Personally, I found there was too much sauce on the shrimp. Because of the excessive sauce, I felt like I couldn't taste the shrimp at all.

A must-visit in Trier's gastronomy scene. We had the best table in the restaurant because, in our opinion, the only drawback is the sheer number of tables and place settings. Ours was one of the few completely isolated tables, far from the crowds and the hustle and bustle, as so many waiters are constantly on the move, distributing the many individual dishes to the tables. Every single course was wonderfully presented with care and tasted excellent. It was a culinary discovery, very exciting, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back soon and can warmly recommend a visit to any gastronomic enthusiast. A little tip: perhaps take a look at the menu, dubbed "passport," in advance and plan your own culinary itinerary with the individual dishes you want to discover during the two hours. This way, you won't have so much choice and stress, and you have more time for enjoyment and fun while tasting.

3.5 stars would be accurate. The staff was excellent, very friendly and attentive. However, the restaurant seems to be suffering from staff shortages. This is particularly evident in the inconsistent quality of the food. Some dishes were superb, while others were unfortunately served lukewarm, and the presentation sometimes suggests a great deal of stress in the kitchen. This shouldn't happen at a price of €42. Even though the increased minimum wage is painful, enough staff should be hired to ensure quality. Profit maximization shouldn't be the top priority for the customer. If the quality is set at the level of a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet, the price shouldn't exceed that.

I don't understand what everyone is raving about. We went there for dinner last night and were looking forward to it because of the good reviews, but it was quite disappointing... We tried several dishes and there wasn't a single one we really liked. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't delicious. Very salty, poor quality ingredients, lots of fried food... The service was quick and friendly, but we won't be going back.

Until now, we'd only ever been to the Mason in Saarbrücken. This was our first time in Trier, and we were both more than satisfied after our visit. Even though the surrounding area wasn't exactly appealing (a ghetto feel, but that's not the Mason's fault), the food at the Mason was simply cozy, quiet, and delicious. The service was exceptionally attentive and keen to ensure we had a pleasant evening.

Very friendly welcome Food arrives quickly without long waits

Based on various recommendations, we ate there for our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We enjoyed almost all of the dishes; obviously, you can't like everything. We found the meat a bit dry in two dishes, but that didn't detract from the overall experience. By the way, when they say "with turmeric," they mean it ;-) One dish was quite heavy, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who like it. The service was truly excellent. All the staff were very polite and attentive. If there were any hiccups, it was more likely due to the technical issues. But that's just complaining at a high level. We thought it was very nice that they treated us to a shot of schnapps for helping an elderly couple to the bathroom (the stairs are really steep). It was a given for us, but we were still happy, of course. We'd love to come back!

Very nice restaurant with interesting concept

From around 6 p.m., the place fills up to capacity. Accordingly, it gets louder (but not very bearable). Unfortunately, it gets extremely warm in the place, which we found very unpleasant. (This is the only reason we deducted one star. Unfortunately, we can't deduct half a star, as a half star deduction would have been sufficient.) The service and food were top-notch, as always!

Masons impresses with its unique concept and the variety of small main courses, which you can order in several rounds according to your taste. The flavors range from microwave-quality (e.g., cinnamon roll waffles) to truly delicious dishes. The presentation creates the illusion of fine dining, which is sure to delight some. However, those with more refined taste buds quickly see through this. Unfortunately, the service is always disappointing; with the exception of one gentleman, you never see the same server twice. Everyone looks like they truly hate what they do, and the whole thing isn't about good customer service. Rather, anyone who looks like they're making a sale and tipping gets everything, while everyone else is rigorously ignored until they're completely dead. The drinks are overpriced, so you can easily end up with €60–70 per person at the end of the evening; a price that bears no relation to what's on offer. There's no discount for vegans, even though the offer is merely a reduction. Vegetarians, on the other hand, can take advantage of the concept. In summary: For those new to gastronomy or those who eat out rarely, Masons is certainly an option for spending money. However, for people with real taste who expect more than mediocre food with poor service, the location is unsuitable. Masons is only recommended for business lunches (if you want to leave your boss a large bill as quickly as possible) or for meetings in larger, mixed groups (there are no awkward pauses in conversation, as people are eating constantly).

The variety of choices is always impressive. The food is delicious. The big advantage, however, is that the small bites allow you to sample many flavors. A nice side effect is that there's hardly anyone who doesn't find something they like on the menu. However, the prices have never been cheap and have recently increased significantly. This is definitely one of those restaurants where you realize you've overeaten as you walk away.

We arrived and were blown away by the incredibly friendly and dedicated server Therese. (I hope I spelled that correctly.) She explained everything to us and immediately made recommendations. All the other servers were also very attentive and friendly. Because we shared each dish, we were actually able to try the entire menu, and we're not big eaters. For our anniversary, we even got a glass of Prosecco on the house. Thank you for the lovely evening and the great parking for our pets.

Here, you'll find a very interesting concept. The menu is presented as a passport, with several continents subdivided into sections. Each continent is represented by dishes from a few of the countries included, allowing you to snack your way around the world 😊. The good thing about it: the selected dishes are served as mini portions on small plates (see pictures), so you can try quite a lot. System: Two hours are specified on the tablet, which is given to each table, and there must be a six-minute wait between orders in a round (which, mathematically, would be a maximum of 20 rounds in 120 minutes). But honestly? I've eaten here many times and, despite being very hungry, I've never made it past the 12th round. Service: The service is so fast that you almost feel sorry for the waiters, given the intensive legwork they have to do to satisfy the guests at each table. Of course, one or two dishes might take a little longer to prepare when it's busy, but nothing was ever forgotten (and one should be tolerant and consider that only human beings work here). I'm happy to give a decent tip afterward. Food: It's really impossible to go into detail about individual dishes here, as it would be beyond the scope. All in all, there really is something for every taste, and the dishes stand out with their good quality and are truly delicious! The menu is updated sporadically, so you won't see all the dishes on the menu today, like you did during my visit to Masons last year. It never gets boring. Criticism: With all due respect for the variety, I find it a bit exaggerated that the dishes under the "Extras" category cost an additional €1 to €3 per person per round (yes, I know: that's why they're called "extras"). Example: "Salmon Tartare". I understand that salmon tartare is in a different price range than the Camembert on the menu. But with a base price of just under €40 per person (as of August 2025), it's a bit steep. Conclusion: A fantastic concept; rather than an experience, a visit to a restaurant is almost an adventure. It's great that you can try so many things here (something no other restaurant can offer to this extent). Definitely full marks for this review.

We were in Trier for two days and went to masons because of the good reviews. We were absolutely thrilled! The concept: brilliant! The service: top-notch! And the food the kitchen delivers with the number of guests is truly worthy of praise. And then the old Prinz varieties as a nightcap. It couldn't be better. Thanks for a great evening and the delicious food.

Great, delicious bites from all over the world, but in 120 minutes, you can only place a new order via tablet every 6 minutes. Annoying at first, but okay after several attempts. At around €40 per person, it's not something you'd eat every day.

A wonderful and delicious journey around the world in small bowls. The quality was very good. The only downside was that the acoustics were a bit loud, as the restaurant was fully booked. The service staff were all very friendly and helpful if we had any questions.
