A thoroughly good place. The ambiance matches the name, and the food is delicious. The "tasting" approach takes some getting used to at first, but ultimately proves practical. My robust Pinot Noir was a bit lacking in depth. Highly recommended!

For the past five years, we've been coming here whenever we're in Badenweiler (we live in Switzerland). The food has always been a 20/10! 👌🏼 The new tasting menu allows you to enjoy even more of the many delicious dishes in one evening and have a fantastic culinary experience – from appetizer to dessert. The service team is very friendly and attentive; neither plates nor glasses stay empty for long. What's more, the owner makes a point of personally greeting every guest, even when the kitchen is busy. You can feel the genuine passion for gastronomy here, which is why we'll always be happy to return! P.S.: A high chair for our almost two-year-old was already waiting for us upon arrival, and the team is warm and understanding towards children, even if they're a bit unruly. 😉

We were there for the first time last night, and they didn't overpromise! The food was absolutely delicious! The cozy dining room and the incredibly friendly staff completely won us over. The head chef himself shared his culinary philosophy with us throughout the evening and even gave us a tour of the restaurant, including the wine cellar, to round off the night. A truly wonderful experience! We will definitely be back!

Highly recommend this place, if you’d like to get a taste of local food and wine. The chef does a great job by combining ingredients you never thought of would match. Ever heard of a restaurant cabbage ice cream? No? Delicious! The food was great in taste, however my Schnitzel was a bit dry and the potato soup too salty. Overall, would come back here and try more of the delicious combinations. Be prepared to be in a German restaurant where they don’t serve beer. Therefore, they have an amazing menu of digestives, that you can also buy in various sizes as a nice gift. Keep it up guys!

After not having been to the Markgräfler Winzerstuben for about three years, the very friendly waitress explained to us on our last visit that the menu and concept had been changed to "Baden tapas," or so-called "Versucherle," as they are called here. Our initial skepticism, however, was completely unfounded, as the various cold and warm "Versucherle" were all excellent. Kudos to the chef! My recommendation: the Baden vitello, braised beef cheeks, and Baden Maultäschle (raw pork stew). I certainly don't need to say anything more about the cozy atmosphere; many reviewers before me have already praised it in detail. We particularly enjoyed sitting and eating at the same table with very different people on the three evenings. We had a great time chatting and laughing (we could safely leave our smartphones in our pockets :-) Everything was great, keep it up! If you come to Badenweiler, you should definitely visit the Markgräfler Winzerstuben. This wine tavern is an absolute highlight of the town. Delicious Baden dishes, excellent wines, and a rustic atmosphere perfectly round off a beautiful day in the Black Forest. Important: Reserve a table early, ideally a day or two in advance; the Markgräfler Winzerstuben are no longer an insider tip :-)

Jörg is one of those people. Continuing the footsteps of his family, he runs the Markgräfler Winzerstuben with a deep sense of purpose and integrity that radiates quietly through every detail. The cuisine is brutally local — rooted in the region, celebrating the best of each season, and honoring the producers who make it possible. What struck me most, though, was how Jörg’s spirit and values are reflected in his team. It was around 9:40 when we stepped in, after being turned away by two nearby restaurants. Jakob greeted us with a warm smile and kindly offered us a table, even though we were late. Only later did we learn it was his last day before returning to his environmental studies. He could have easily said no — but he didn’t. That’s what happens when people truly love what they do. Marion, too, was wonderfully kind and genuine, making us feel completely at home. And the cherry on top was the chance to exchange a few words with Jörg himself — the second-generation owner of Markgräfler Winzerstuben — who shared with us a philosophy that we had already sensed long before he put it into words.

Once a year, Badenweiler and the Markgräfler Winzerstuben have long been a regular part of our itinerary. The rustic, comfortable atmosphere and friendly, attentive, and professional staff have delighted us for years. This year, we were pleasantly surprised by the new concept. Many small snacks/tasties, ideal for sharing in tapas style, offer the opportunity to sample the entire menu together. Seasonal produce, classic dishes with some new interpretations, and exciting combinations and creations. A delicious variety that made it difficult to choose. Our absolute highlight: red cabbage sorbet. We've rarely had such a good dessert! Unfortunately, the journey is too far for us to just drop in quickly. We're already looking forward to next year!

A perfect evening in a cozy, rustic setting. Very professional, attentive, unobtrusive, and friendly service. A very beautiful and excellent restaurant. The decor is superb, in a very traditional regional style. The food is excellent, with very successful flavors and combinations. The only downside was that we were a couple and were seated at the end of a table already occupied by three people. The service remains very efficient and professional; nothing to complain about. Reservations are highly recommended. I recommend this restaurant and we will definitely return on our next visit because it was an excellent experience and their menu is regularly updated.

The service was simply fantastic: friendly, attentive, full of joie de vivre, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can immediately tell that the work here is done with passion. And then the food… simply amazing! These little "tasters" – a dream! Each bowl was a little explosion of flavor, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. A true journey through autumn in terms of taste – creative, delicate, and incredibly delicious. We went there twice during our vacation because we just had to go back after the first visit. The concept of small portions totally won us over – just right for trying everything without feeling completely stuffed afterward. Add to that the fantastic atmosphere: stylish, cozy, and simply a place to feel good. Everything is lovingly done down to the last detail. I've enjoyed going to the Winzerstube for many years. The ambiance—whether inside or outside in the beautiful courtyard—is very special. I particularly like the ever-growing selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. In many places, they only serve salads, but not here. The owner puts a lot of thought and care into the selection! The newer concept with the "Versucherle" (tastings) really appeals to me, as you can try a lot of different things and share them. The staff is also super friendly. What more could you want! It takes a lot of courage to rethink the concept of a traditional restaurant and offer lots of delicious, creative "Versucherle" (small portions) instead of the usual hearty cuisine, without losing the regional connection. We were impressed and won over by the chef's passion and dedication. We wish anyone who cares so intensively about their guests success from the bottom of their hearts. It takes a bit of getting used to the menu. For your first visit, in addition to making a reservation (it works perfectly online), a visit to the website is helpful. We can allay any worries about not getting full. And the price isn't any higher than in other regions, even though the effort involved here is certainly considerably higher. We give it a 100% recommendation.

Unfortunately, we found our visit here very disappointing. First, we had to wait a long time to order, and then another long time for drinks and, eventually, the food to arrive. The sausages weren't cooked all the way through and had to be put back in the pan. The fried potatoes were cold, and the schnitzel, in our opinion, was a frozen product. These poor dishes don't match the high prices. We were seated as a couple at a table for four, and another couple joined us a while later. We did get chatting, but we would have preferred to enjoy the evening alone. Overall, we wouldn't recommend visiting this restaurant because the price and service don't match at all, even though the wine was at least good.

Markgräfler Winzerstuben is the kind of place that reminds you why dinner with people you care about matters. Everything from the menu to the building itself is centered around tradition, quality, and investing time in relationships. The food was phenomenal. The Schnaiker Schniddle was a great way to start. The Roasted Goat Cheese Mozzarella was my personal favorite, packed with some of the most flavorful cheese I’ve ever had. The Badisches Maultäschle stood out with its perfect noodle texture and rich, savory meat. For dessert, “Irresistible Desire” was a solid brownie classic with ice cream, but the Lemon Buttermilk Ice Cream stole the show. It was super sweet, and the seeds added an extra flair. Also, don’t skip the roast beef. They’ve built 50-year partnerships to get the best ingredients, and you can tell. Every dish has a story. Recipes are generationally preserved but they add just enough of a twist to make each one unique. The service was awesome. We were constantly checked in on, even with our large group. The space itself is historic and full of character, with seating in different rooms that each have their own backstory. Some parts of the building are over 200 years old, and everything has been done to keep it feeling authentic. This place does German food right. It is authentic, thoughtful, and full of meaning.

Unfortunately, we arrived a little late (9:00 p.m.) for a spontaneous dinner and were nevertheless greeted very warmly. The "Versucherle" system is certainly a nice idea, but we decided against it due to the late hour and the rather hefty prices. There is a small selection of "regular" dishes. We chose the farmer's sausages with fried potatoes and the schnitzel, also with fried potatoes. Each came with a small side salad. These were well-made, albeit a bit small. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding in the service, my friend's meal was served a quarter of an hour earlier than mine – which was annoying. (Tables were mixed up.) What we think is completely beyond good and evil are the absurd drink prices. The Aperol Spritz blend, which is non-alcoholic, is quite expensive at €8.50 for 200 ml. (Ordered on the server's recommendation, unaware of the price.) Plus a small carafe of apple juice and a 0.7-liter bottle of water, the drinks came to over €20. That's downright extortionate and can't be justified by rising prices. All in all, a small dinner for two people costs around €80! These are prices more commonly found in Michelin-starred restaurants. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot recommend the Winzerstube and will not be returning.

Whenever we're in Badenweiler, we eat here. This time, the concept had changed to food sharing. We're sometimes a bit critical of that, but that wasn't justified: here, everything was very well thought out. Each dish is based on Baden cuisine, and everything fits together perfectly, which isn't often the case with other sharing options, where it gets a bit messy. Those who prefer their own large main course can still choose from four classics. Every dish was top-notch, and we ate things we otherwise would never have chosen in a large dish, and we loved it. The lady serving in Dirndl is still top-notch, and the terrace is delightful. For us, the restaurant has only improved, and the wine is also very good. We keep coming back. Tip for the owner: stay true to the concept of Baden cuisine and don't be tempted to take too many detours. It's precisely this well-thought-out concept that makes the restaurant so unique.

This winery is something special. The small Baden specialties, known as "Versucherle," are a great opportunity to try different things. The owners have put a lot of thought into their creations. We spent the weekend in Badenweiler and were able to reserve a table for 6 people at very short notice – thank you!! We sat at a lovely round table in the courtyard, a truly idyllic setting! We were thrilled with this restaurant. The concept is unique. There are many "trial" dishes on the menu – small dishes with regional specialties. The service and the food were excellent! A truly great restaurant – we certainly won't be eating here for the last time!

Very delicious Baden food in a wonderful setting. Reservations are recommended for the courtyard, as it's always busy. The menu has a new and, in my opinion, very successful concept. There are four or five "regular" dishes and "tasters," which you can think of as tapas. The three of us ate nine of the dishes (including one dessert) and were thoroughly satisfied. We'd be happy to return!

We spontaneously stopped here yesterday while passing through. I was so looking forward to my shoulder of pork roast, but they didn't serve it here in the form I was used to. Well, we went, and what can we say? We didn't regret it! The food is very creatively and attractively presented! And after a long, very pleasant, and informative conversation with the chef, we appreciated the dishes much more! The amount of love and effort that goes into it is incredible! You always learn something new! Unfortunately, only 4 stars for the ambiance, as we sat in a tiny niche without windows that reminded us of a confessional 😉🤣🤣. If you're ever in the area, you should definitely visit this inn! We wish the owner all the best!!!👍🍀

Incredibly beautiful atmosphere. We had a table in the courtyard, where there was a slight breeze in the 34-degree heat. The service was friendly, attentive, and courteous. The new menu with "Versucherle" (samplers), both hot and cold, was delicious and something different. You can order a few and adjust the number of "Versucherle" to your hunger. Love it! We had a wonderful evening, and I'm thrilled with this new concept!

We've been coming to Badenweiler every now and then for years. A visit to the Winzerstube is often a must, simply because it's a charming, rustic restaurant. In winter, the various rooms are incredibly cozy, often with a lively atmosphere due to the crowds. In summer, the patio in the courtyard is a great place to sit. New for us this time was the concept of "Versucherle" (less than a main course but more than a tapas, considering the quantity), which are available in a wide variety of categories. There is also a limited selection of classic dishes. We had both: a selection of delicious and lovingly prepared Versucherle (try-meal dishes) and a Winzerstube classic: bratwurst and excellent Brägele (spicy sausages). ... So, to cut a long story short: We once again had a very pleasant, cozy evening (even with a new concept for us) with culinary delights, sophisticated desserts, and matching drinks! The Markgräfler Winzerstube remains a restaurant we will visit in the future.

It's been a few years since we (wrongly) neglected to visit this beautiful place, representative of what a Winstub is: traditional dishes, carefully selected wines by the glass, and a warm setting. In fact, here, a soul inhabits the place: surely due to the charm of the building but especially to the spirit given by the owner. Traditional cuisine but in tune with the times thanks to this principle of small portions that invite sharing between all; and with a few contemporary twists here and there. And precise locavore and seasonal sourcing; in the beautiful slowfood spirit! In short: an ideal address that is once again becoming a favorite for me. I will never forget you again 😅

Voilà quelques années que nous avions (à tord) négligé de fréquenter cette belle adresse, représentative de ce qu’est une Winstub: plats de tradition, vins au verre et choisis, cadre chaleureux. En fait ici, une âme habite les lieux: sûrement dû au charme de la bâtisse mais surtout à l’esprit donné par le maître de maison. Cuisine de tradition mais dans l’air du temps grâce à ce principe de petites portions qui invitent au partage entre tous; et avec quelques twists contemporains de ça et la. Et un sourcing locavore et de saison précis; dans le bel esprit slowfood! Bref: une adresse idéale et qui redevient fétiche pour moi. Je ne vous oublierai plus 😅

We visited the Winzerstube several times, but this was the first time we were able to enjoy the VERSUCHERLE concept. It was a fantastic opportunity to sample all the delicious dishes and share them with others at the same time. A wonderfully convivial idea! Das ist schon ganz schön mutig! Man bietet in einer badischen Weinstube nur kleine Portionen an. Also eine Art Tapas auf badisch. Viele werden es mögen, andere aber nicht. Wir waren gerne hier. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet dazu ein perfekter Wein vom Kaiserstuhl. Fazit: unbedingt empfehlenswert!!!

Heute wurden wir von dem genialen Konzept mit badischen Tapas (Versucherle) überrascht und waren ganz begeistert. Aus der großen Auswahl fanden wir Alles, was wir probiert haben, besonders gut. Ob Feldsalat mit Walnusspesto, Salatschüsselchen mit frischen Kräutern oder geschmortes Rinderbäckle. Auch für mich als Vegetarierin gab es eine super Auswahl. Total lecker war die glasierte Rote Beete mit Schmormöhren. Himmlisches Zwetschgen-Tiramisu, eine unwiderstehliche Begierde und köstliches Bourbonvanille-Eis krönten den Abend. Generell hat es uns sehr gefallen aus den verschiedenen Schälchen zu teilen, weshalb wir auf jeden Fall nicht nur als Paar (für den nächsten romantischen Abend) wiederkommen werden, sondern auch unbedingt mit unseren Freunden das Wohlfühlambiente geniessen wollen. Super nettes Personal und absolut gerechtfertigte Preise, da regional, saisonal und mit viel Aufwand neue Gerichte kreiert werden. Beeindruckend ist, dass sich die Karte mehrmals im Jahr an die Geschenke der Natur anpasst. Wir freuen uns schon auf die Ingwer-Äpfel und können es nicht erwarten, weitere Überraschungen auszuprobieren. Felix&Eileen

An absolute highlight! For me, this restaurant is clearly the best between Lörrach and Freiburg – a place where you don't just go out for a meal, but get a true culinary experience. Every dish I've tried so far has been a true masterpiece: perfectly balanced, full of flavor, and prepared with palpable attention to detail. I was particularly impressed by the service. She explained the dishes to us with exceptional warmth and professionalism – from the spices and side sauces to the preparation. This blend of knowledge, passion, and genuine friendliness makes the visit something truly special. I don't know of any other restaurant in the Badenweiler, Müllheim, and Neuenburg area that cooks at this level. Here, culinary arts are lived with dedication – and you can feel it in every bite. Even if you're a passionate spicy food fan, you'll be very well served here if necessary and will positively push your limits. For anyone who lives nearby or is passing by: This restaurant is a real insider tip and a must-visit. Highly recommended!

We went there for dinner in the evening. Very pleasant staff, menus adapted to the seasons. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, beautifully presented. Unfortunately, I sent the photos a bit mixed up, but I think you can tell what's the starter and dessert.
