Guter Service und leckeres Essen, obwohl die Speisekarte etwas klein ist.

Ein schnörkelloses Restaurant mit gutem, einfachem Essen in großzügigen Portionen. Der Jägerbraten ist ein echter Schweinebraten, kein verarbeitetes Fleisch. Der Service ist tadellos; man lässt einen in Ruhe, ist aber stets hilfsbereit. Das Chasselas (Gutedel Trocken) ist sehr lecker, ebenso wie die Biere vom Fass. Die Schlagsahne ist nicht zu süß, was das Eiscafé besonders erfrischend macht. Alles ist vorhanden für einen schönen Sommerabend, ob mit dem Partner oder mit Freunden.

Wir haben in diesem Restaurant gegessen. Ich wollte die deutsche Küche probieren. Der Kartoffelsalat war köstlich und zart. Die Portionen sind groß.

Während unseres Aufenthalts in Badenweiler waren wir zweimal im Ratskeller essen und jedes Mal begeistert. Wer rustikale, gut bürgerliche Küche mag, ist hier genau richtig. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Portionen top und das gemütliche Ambiente passt perfekt zum traditionellen Stil des Restaurants. Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch der freundliche Service. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ein gemütliches Pub mit einer Auswahl an traditionellen Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichten sowie einer guten Auswahl an Bier und Wein. Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend, und die Preise sind absolut angemessen. Ich empfehle den Ratskeller für ein leichtes Abendessen und nette Gespräche.

Unsere Tochter hatte ein Gericht mit Pilzsoße bestellt, mag aber eigentlich keine Pilze. Sie hat die Pilze einfach aussortiert – was vom Personal sofort bemerkt wurde. Man fragte direkt freundlich nach, ob alles in Ordnung sei oder ob man ihr das Gericht auch ohne Pilze neu zubereiten solle. So viel Aufmerksamkeit und Mitdenken erlebt man wirklich nicht überall! Ein großes Lob an das gesamte Team – wir kommen gerne wieder und können den Ratskeller Badenweiler nur weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren im Ratskeller in Badenweiler und haben dort einen angenehmen Aufenthalt erlebt. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und passt wunderbar zur Umgebung. Besonders aufgefallen ist uns die Kirche direkt nebenan: Um 18 Uhr läuten die Glocken etwa 10 Minuten lang, was eine ganz besondere, authentische Atmosphäre schafft. Wir haben zwar nur Getränke bestellt, waren damit aber sehr zufrieden. Das fränkische schwarze Bier war geschmacklich sehr gut, ebenso wie die Cola. Insgesamt ein stimmiger Ort für eine kleine Pause in gemütlicher Umgebung.

Ein sehr angenehmes Restaurant mit einem sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Service. Das Essen ist sehr gut und reichlich.

Das Essen und die Portionen war mega. Man wird gut satt. Wir saßen draußen bei dem schönen wetter und konnten so mit auch noch die Sonne genießen. Service war auf Zack und fragte öfter ob alles okay sei. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich war geschäftlich in der Stadt und in meinem Hotel war die Küche leider geschlossen. Also bekam ich den Ratskeller als Empfehlung. Der Empfang war herzlich und ich hatte freie Platzwahl. Mein erstes Getränk kam innerhalb einer Minute an meinen Platz und mein Essen (Rumpsteak mit Salat) kam auch nach bereits knapp 10 Minuten. Das Rumpsteak war auf den Punkt gegart (Medium-Rare), sehr saftig und schmackhaft. Der Salat war frisch und auch wirklich lecker. Dazu gab es noch Brot und etwas Kräuterbutter, was das ganze perfekt abgerundet hat. Die Einrichtung ist rustikal und gemütlich, ich hab mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis ist wirklich sehr gut, da kann man sich wirklich nicht beschweren. Wirklich sehr preiswert. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert und eine klare Empfehlung! Ich komme gerne wieder!

We went there for dinner after an afternoon at the thermal baths. We weren't disappointed at all. The food was delicious, the service quick and very good, as were the prices. We genuinely enjoyed our meal, and the staff were pleasant. Furthermore, the atmosphere of the place is quite unique, which adds to its charm.

We hadn't been to the Ratskeller in a long time, and I was very disappointed. The Ratskeller was known for good pizza and tasty dishes… both were sadly lacking. There wasn't even a children's meal. The schnitzel tasted like it had been deep-fried, not homemade. Otherwise, the menu seemed like something you'd find at a fast-food joint. Sorry, but something has to change.

Always worth a visit. We ate here again today, October 30th, 2025. Everything was perfect again. The food arrived quickly. The service was prompt and they checked on us regularly. We enjoy eating here.

Change of ownership this year? We're disappointed. No more delicious pizzas and other dishes. The more basic cuisine is a shame.

The service was great! And the food was also very good. 2 adults and 2 kids (8 years old and a 13-year-old teen) were there. Quality food is important to me! I'm very sensitive to bad smells, for example. Vegetarian tarte flambée, steak, spaetzle, a "small mixed salad" (big enough 😘), creamed schnitzel with spaetzle, mushrooms, all fresh and delicious. The ambiance was a bit dated but interesting; the lighting was a bit dark, but it was also romantic since it was in the grotto.

Guys, go there! I had the beef steak. It was simply sensational! The waiters are super friendly, they even come to your table every now and then to ask how you're doing! It's really great there!

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is locally sourced and fresh. The plates are generously sized and very tasty. We had booked a table, but it clearly wasn't necessary. We visited at the end of September for dinner. The prices are reasonable.

Unfortunately, we had to wait almost an hour for our food, even though we had only ordered cheese spaetzle and turkey schnitzel with spaetzle. They weren't freshly prepared either, as the food arrived lukewarm. People who ordered after us received their food much sooner...

Four of us went to this restaurant today – two of them vegetarians, one of whom is lactose intolerant. The manager herself (judging by her demeanor) helped us find a solution, and because the fried potatoes we requested were sold out, she even went out to bring them again. That was impressively friendly. Even though there was a misunderstanding when ordering a different dish, all the dishes served were excellent! Everything was freshly prepared, perfectly cooked, and pleasantly seasoned. The beer was also very tasty, and the atmosphere was great. We're considering changing our vacation plans so we can eat here another evening. Thank you for the lovely evening and your flexibility!

I had a steak the same day as the gentleman who complained of stomach pain after eating a few posts below, and I thought it was excellent. I've rarely eaten so well. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Horrible experience. We ordered steak with salad and potatoes. The meat was in poor condition. We left the entire steak. It tasted like beef liver. We had to go to the emergency room because it made my stomach hurt so much. We ended up with food poisoning. Terrible experience and terrible service from the waiters. It took more than 15 minutes to bring our drinks. I do not recommend this at all. To be exact, we were there yesterday, July 5, 2025, and we paid at 10:42 PM. It was like throwing money away. Terrible service, terrible customer service, terrible hygiene. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR EATING IN BADENWEILER. I would much rather go to Markgräfler Winzerstuben or Ribs and More Müllheim. They definitely care about providing quality food and excellent service.

Dinner on July 5, 2025 – A very bad experience. I ordered a meat dish that tasted of liver and refrigerator food – clearly spoiled. The service was inattentive and unhelpful. During the meal, I experienced severe pain in my upper abdomen, forcing me to get up, pay, and leave immediately. I reported the incident to the health authorities. I will not be returning.

A true highlight! The steak was excellent – ​​cooked to perfection, tender as butter, and superbly flavorful. The vegetarian tarte flambée was also delicious: crispy base and fresh ingredients. We stumbled upon the town of Badenweiller by chance. What a surprise! The Rathskeller restaurant was just a few minutes from our accommodation. We received a very warm welcome, and the flammenkueche was exquisite. The bucolic setting was a huge plus for this restaurant, as we were seated on the terrace, surrounded by trees and flowers. We highly recommend this lovely place to eat.

If you are in Badenweiler you have to go to the Ratskeller, the food is plentiful and very tasty, the staff is friendly and very on the ball. The apple strudel is highly recommended as a dessert.

I had a fantastic beer at this restaurant. The salad was delicious, as were the chicken and Bolognese pasta. The desserts here are also truly delicious. Highly recommended!

I have been a regular at Ratskeller for several years, I love going there after a session at the Cassiopeia Thermal Baths. In addition to being ideally located near the thermal baths, the Ratskeller agrees to serve us quite late, even after 9 p.m. The service is always pleasant and French-speaking (the menus are also translated into French). Small change compared to my last visits, Italian cuisine (Pizza for example) is no longer offered. Indeed, according to the waiter, the owners decided to concentrate on traditional German cuisine and leave the Italian cuisine in their other restaurant, located 100 m away, at the Othello. Rather accustomed to pizza, we took the opportunity to try typical local dishes with black forest ham and fried potatoes. For dessert, I recommend the Apfelstrudel (apple puff pastry cake served hot) accompanied by a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream. Last point, the cellar room is very pleasant but the outdoor terrace is also very nice and quiet.

Wir sind am Freitag Abend spontan nach der Therme in den Ratskeller. Es war schon 21 Uhr (Warme Küche bis 21:30 Uhr), wir waren 7 Personen (4 Erwachsene u. 3 Kinder) und hatten keine Reservierung! Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben einen schönen großen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen war mega lecker, der Koch weiß was er tut. Das Personal super freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir empfehlen es sehr gerne weiter und kommen bald wieder. Danke.

The service was friendly and quick, and I'm happy to give it 5 stars for that. We found the restaurant itself a bit uncomfortable. There was no mention of pizza or pasta on the menu. The food we got was not appropriate for the price (too expensive). The salad was carelessly prepared, as was the main course. At home the misery began... upset stomach and eating backwards were a "nice" side effect. We will therefore no longer visit or recommend this restaurant.

Our visit to the restaurant today left mixed impressions. Particularly positive features include the impeccable cleanliness, the cozy and inviting atmosphere and the extremely friendly and courteous staff. We felt like we were in good hands here as guests. Unfortunately the quality of the food was disappointing. The seasoning of all the dishes was unpleasant and not well balanced, and several components of the dishes had a very strange aftertaste that greatly impaired the enjoyment. The prices were also significantly too high for what was on offer. Particularly worrying: one of our companions complained of severe nausea about an hour after the visit, which further clouded the overall impression. Unfortunately, the two stars we give are ultimately for the poor food, as this is the main aspect of a restaurant. Despite the positive circumstances, the overall visit was not convincing.

It was the only place open that looked okay, food is what you expect in a restaurant like this, not fine dining but good overall though a bit pricey in my opinion for what it is. Service is good, waitresses were helpful.

What the name doesn't suggest is that this is primarily Italian cuisine, but you also get seasonal, regional cuisine and it snows very well. The restaurant itself is located in a beautiful vaulted cellar. The service staff are very friendly and attentive. Gladly again.

Were there over Easter and were unfortunately greeted quite rudely with a snout. Apparently we arrived around closing time (which we unfortunately didn't realize straight away). We were then allowed to order a pizza to take away, which was good. Plus two cocktails. And I have to say: not edible. When the waitress asked how it was, we were honest and said we could add less cane sugar (we had lumps of sugar in our mouths). Due to the poor mixing, the cocktail tasted like pure alcohol. We were then rejected with a simple “I always do it like that”. Not a very good critical reception. As a little feedback: if the customer's opinion is not interesting, it's better not to ask at all. And it's better to say too much that you're closed than to serve people with an after-work snack.
