What the name doesn't suggest is that this is primarily Italian cuisine, but you also get seasonal, regional cuisine and it snows very well. The restaurant itself is located in a beautiful vaulted cellar. The service staff are very friendly and attentive. Gladly again.

Were there over Easter and were unfortunately greeted quite rudely with a snout. Apparently we arrived around closing time (which we unfortunately didn't realize straight away). We were then allowed to order a pizza to take away, which was good. Plus two cocktails. And I have to say: not edible. When the waitress asked how it was, we were honest and said we could add less cane sugar (we had lumps of sugar in our mouths). Due to the poor mixing, the cocktail tasted like pure alcohol. We were then rejected with a simple “I always do it like that”. Not a very good critical reception. As a little feedback: if the customer's opinion is not interesting, it's better not to ask at all. And it's better to say too much that you're closed than to serve people with an after-work snack.

Restaurant located on the Badenweiler route, a few meters from the thermal baths. Warm welcome, very friendly terrace. Reservations recommended during meal times. Menu: pizzas, pastas and some meats. Good pizzas but not justifying the exaggerated price for the pizza called ANTONIO (15€)

A great meal, the order was taken quickly. A super waiter could remember up to 5 tables. The pizzas were cross and well topped. My noodles were very tasty. And the steak was perfectly cooked.

Ratskeller can be found in almost every German city, as well as the Chinese, Italians and Greeks. During my visit to Badenweiler, I discovered the local Ratskeller with its sunny summer terraces and, even as a long-time gastronomy consultant, had to revise my previous prejudice about Ratskeller. The interior, how could it be otherwise, located in the basement, is extremely cozy and inviting. Separate seating niches offer privacy if desired and the menu reflects traditional cuisine from delicious soups, market-fresh salads, pasta dishes to various Italian pizzas and steak, everything your heart and appetite desires... and all at an impressive speed and fantastic value for money. For me the steak was unbeatable, cooked to perfection and of indescribable quality. The service staff, here I would like to highlight the extremely talented employee Janine, were always friendly, in a good mood and quick, even when they were at full capacity. The boss was always on site and watched over the guests, service and food with watchful eyes... like a conductor over his orchestra... that's how you can only feel good as a guest. An absolute recommendation and a must for every visitor to Badenweiler... it is guaranteed that you will not stop at just one visit. I'll definitely be back and take my hat off to such a gastronomic achievement!!

Here the food becomes worse when it is too crowded. That was what the waitress said. It's called Ratskeller, but it's more Italian. Pizza and pasta. There are also meat dishes, but they are very expensive. Non-alcoholic drinks are mostly only available in size 0.33. Half a liter of beer is cheaper than half a liter of water. The pizza tasted okay. But extremely large and large margins. Too much tomato sauce and the base was so thin that the whole pizza was just soggy. When we asked if everything was okay, we just said: I'm sorry, have a nice evening and that's probably because there's a lot going on at the moment. Hmm, I think you can expect the quality to be consistent. Otherwise the service was mostly friendly and the ambience was also fine.

Went to the Ratskeller today quite spontaneously. Food was super tasty, service was super friendly and quick. If I lived here, I would come here more often. Was back after 3 weeks. I just love it. Sooo nice people. I feel super comfortable here.

We spent a week in Badenweiler on a motorcycle tour and tried out a few restaurants. The Ratskeller was by far the best restaurant. A very good kitchen with meat dishes, salad, pizza and pasta. There were seven of us and we all chose different dishes. All dishes were completely satisfactory. In addition, the waitresses, led by a real Berlin snout, were very courteous and attentive. We will definitely come back here on our next tour. Thank you very much for this great hospitality!!!

The restaurant is great. The service was nice and quick. The food, which came really quickly after ordering even though it was busy, was absolutely amazing. We inhaled the pizza with ham, the pizza with asparagus and Angus fillet pieces was also really well made and the homemade lasagne was to die for. Since the portion is really generous, we took the rest of the lasagna home with us and will definitely come back next time.

Steak deserves +5*!!! Salads have a great dressing and are super fresh! Great service! Attentive, even special requests were kindly accepted and implemented. It wasn't very busy, but it was just before the kitchen closed and yet everyone was very friendly. Only the interior was a bit old... but still had the cozy charm of a Ratskeller. Thank you for the nice evening. We will be back!

Great tarte flambée - my husband took a pizza. But without registering it is almost impossible to get a place. Service very good - you can always see when the drinks are empty. Really recommend this restaurant also from the price/performance ratio. Nice team there.

On Sunday, April 28th, 2024, we had an aperitif in this great town hall cellar and were able to enjoy the wonderful tarte flambée. We were thrilled by this ambience and the service!!! We will highly recommend them and are already looking forward to having a meal with them soon!!!!!

Small restaurant with very good pizza. Unfortunately I didn't like the salad and the prices aren't exactly cheap. But the friendly service is just right. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to park nearby and you still have to take into account the costs in the parking garage. That's why I withheld two stars.

Down in the basement and outside when the weather is nice

The restaurant in the middle of Badenweiler offers a rustic atmosphere. The menu offers many classics such as pizza, steak, spaghetti carbonara, etc. Everyone will find something here. If you're looking for unusual food, you'll have to look elsewhere. The Tonno pizza I ate was very tasty and served quickly. The side salad was also very good, but it was a bit expensive at €7.40. In principle, the Ratskeller is recommended.

I only give one star ⭐️ for the ambience (unfortunately you have to give one star). Ate a pizza. The pizza base was very thin and very “mushy” due to the watery tomato sauce. In terms of taste, the pizza was like the oven-fresh frozen pizza, although the base of the frozen pizza is better. Price €11.80 for a rather small salami pizza, Champion too expensive in my opinion.

This is a highlight of the city… You could drink a beer there, eat a load of pasta, and good pizzas for next to nothing. In the evening we were allowed to watch a match, listen to music and even dance. On summer evenings, the atmosphere was more bucolic under the shaded terraces. But those good times are over and the place seems deserted. I don't know if it's Covid or the war in Ukraine, but the price increase in this establishment is incredible: almost €6 for a bottle of water and more than €15 for spaghetti! Certainly, the quality has improved, but it is now becoming very expensive, especially if you want to enjoy it after a session at the thermal baths. It's a shame.

Charming little restaurant literally 1 minute walking from the therms. The food was delicious and the ambiance was really nice. The personal is quite nice and very accommodating, even if you don't speak German. We will visit again.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, flinker Service, Pasta echt italienische Qualität (selten so gut in Deutschland anzutreffen).

Wir haben ein Teamevent mit ca 40 Personen (Verabschiedung mehrerer Arbeitskollegen) dort gefeiert. Der Kontakt war seit Beginn freundlich und wertschätzend. Es gab spontane Änderungen was die Speisen betraf, Herr Krutzinna war immer erreichbar und hat sehr schnell auf Mails geantwortet, Änderungen wurden kurzfristig vorgenommen. Das Essen war ein Gedicht, wunderbarer Feldsalat, das Fleisch der Roulade butterzart, wir waren begeistert. Der Service war perfekt und außerordentlich aufmerksam, auch hier nur lobende Worte! Alles perfekt hätte ein separater Bereich gemacht, so saßen wir etwas verstreut an mehreren Tischen. Personal sehr kurz angebunden. Haben ihre freien Tische nicht im Griff. Eine Person bekommt einen Tisch, der andere wird an der Theke platziert. Chefin und Angestellte sind mehr mit sich und Raucherpausen beschäftigt. Das Publikum ist ebenso anspruchslos.

So happy and satisfied. We came 3 days in a row, twice a day! Awesome service, very polite, super attentional at all aspects. Do make reservation in time! We came early multiple times, no issue for them. (someone complained in the reviews) We even received a delicious limoncello as gratitude for frequent visit😍 Flammenkuche with pipperlingen, vitello tonato, bruschettas and carbonara were super delish! Would advise greatly 🙌 keep up the good work!

Ein sehr gutes italienisches Restaurant, mit sehr herzlich freundlichem Personal. Sehr zu empfehlen, wegen der hervorragend schmeckenden Speisen. Sollte ich mal wieder in der schönen Gegend sein, werde ich gerne wieder hier zum Essen reservieren. 12.04.22 Ich war heute wieder in der Gegend und das Essen im Ratskeller war wieder ganz vorzüglich, so wie gewohnt. Tschüss Ratskeller-Team bis bald. 13.04.22 Ich bin immer noch in der Gegend und natürlich auch heute Abend wieder im Ratskeller. Ich bin wieder sehr zufrieden mit dem sehr guten Essen. Besonders zu erwähnen wäre heute wieder das Personal. Es brummt hier gerade der Bär, das gesamte Personal ist im Laufschritt unterwegs, aber immer freundlich und sehr, sehr nett. Es ist diese herzliche Freundlichkeit die von innen kommt. Das ist hauptsächlich der Grund warum ich mich hier so wohlfühle.
