L'Osteria Vetro in Düsseldorf

Terrible! Ordered 1x tuna and 1x Parma pizza. After waiting for 30 minutes, the big surprise was that we were given 2x Parma 🤗 I kindly pointed out that we ordered 1x tuna and 1x Parma and not 2x the same pizza! There was just a stupid saying, "Yes, you can eat that" and then "I'll make new ones, let me know." My girlfriend had already eaten and after 30 minutes my real pizza arrived. Outrageous! Both taste really bad. Thin dough and ingredients simply slapped on top. For almost €15.00 the pizza is a disgrace. First wrong drinks, then wrong pizza, then get cheeky. The bad thing in the end was that instead of the correct order, we were charged the wrong order, including a tip surcharge! Please support the family businesses in Düsseldorf and not these inattentive and cheeky people at the Losteria in Düsseldorf's old town. Never never again!!!!!

The service is horrible! The server last placed coffees on the table corner, for us to reach out to, asked us to pay immediately and 2 espresso being 6eur, he didn't want to accept a card, saying it's too low to put on the card. Overall terrible experience, don't come here.

I ordered a Vitello Tonnato but it was out! Then I ordered a carpaccio! The one from Lidl in the Italian week is 10 times better! It didn't taste good at all! I wanted to impress a Turkish colleague and was just ashamed! Then we ordered two pizzas! Pizza tonno and pizza parma! The Tonno was burnt and the Parma ham and Parmesan cheese tasted like the soles of your feet! Waiter seemed very dissatisfied with the job! I'm Italian and we don't even sell such bad food on the street!

The pizza is very good! One of the few pizzerias that have good pizzas in terms of dough and toppings. The service is friendly and quick. The food comes quickly.

Pizza with salmon and spinach was tasty, spaghetti vongole ok. Aperitif was paid for separately, not stated on receipt.

The food didn't taste good at all and for the price, I expected something tasty. The pizza was very small and tasted like a frozen pizza. Service and ambience were fine.

We were warmly welcomed, served very well and had a really delicious meal. First we got a small free appetizer on the house. We ate them comfortably and then our dinner came shortly afterwards. I had the liver with mashed potatoes and my wife had porcini mushroom ravioli. The portions weren't large, but the prices were moderate for Düsseldorf and the food was really delicious. If we are in Düsseldorf again, we will definitely eat there again. You immediately feel at home there and have the impression that you have been a regular customer here for years. Once again a big compliment to the gentleman who was responsible for us and served us. I don't know if it was the boss himself, but that's how it should be.

This is by far the worst pizza I had in my life. It was burnt, greasy, and just plain awful. Don't make the mistake of going here. When I went by the place was almost empty and sadly I learned why - the hard way. The service was OK-ish.

A solid and down-to-earth Italian restaurant. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the food came to the table very quickly despite the large number of visitors and the taste and quality were absolutely fine. The prices are mostly fair too.

Don't mistake this for LOsteria, this is a cheap place with mediocre food and warm beer. The guy serving us didnt seem to enjoy his time here. Pizza was 3.5/5 but the spaghetti was 1.5/5.

The food was good, but the service and the friendliness of the staff fell by the wayside. We should wait at the counter for a free table. We weren't served here and when nothing else happened, we sat down at a free table ourselves. After 30 minutes we at least had our drinks, the food took over an hour. This is difficult with 2 children. The bill came after three requests. Guests who had been waiting for a long time were literally shouted at when they asked for a table. I understand that everything takes a little longer when there is a lot going on, but then it would be nice if you could at least recognize that an effort is being made. We felt more like a nuisance. At times there was no staff to be seen, neither behind the counter nor in the dining room on the ground floor. We certainly won't be coming back. Too bad L'Osteria. You can do that better in other restaurants.

Italian restaurant located right in the middle of the old town with delicious, delicious food and fabulous service.

Pathetic attitude of the staff, so unfriendly that they don't even want to recommend any dishes or understand your taste. Looks like they are forced to work there and run here and there like a headless chicken without accomplishing much. Food was not upto the mark and the portions are very small compared to the price. Not recommended at all!

Food very very average. The Vitello Tonnato was one of the worst I have ever eaten in Düsseldorf - slightly too salty. The waiter seemed listless. Unfortunately, the surrounding Italian restaurants were full. No repeat!

Nice Italian restaurant in the city center with a cozy outdoor terrace. The staff is helpful and was very patient with the selection. Drinks were consumed quickly and quickly. Was here spontaneously with my girlfriend. Unfortunately I made a mistake with the toppings for my pizza, but I asked very kindly if it was still okay. So I was able to enjoy a different taste that also completely convinced me. This is definitely how it will be remembered! Worth a recommendation.

The food is delicious. I can only give service 3 points. It takes forever or not at all for someone to come to the table. We had to go in to order more drinks, even though there were only three tables occupied and there wasn't much to do.

The dishes are a bit bland and feel unseasoned. Canned mushrooms are used. However, the cappucino is a disgrace: way too hot, totally thin and tastes like Senseo. That was not good :-(

We sat down because we wanted to drink coffee but were then sent away because you are “only allowed to eat”. There were people sitting next to us who had just ordered something to drink. Outrageous.

Incredibly rude service here. We walked through the cozy streets of the old town. Around 5 p.m. we had the idea to go to a terrace before having dinner. We end up on the terrace of this restaurant. Very rudely and quickly, the waiter whipped 3 menus onto the table, without asking anything. When he came by after 20 minutes to ask what we wanted, we placed our drink order. That was like a red rag to a bull! The waiter barked at our table: "nur essen, nicht trinken" and grabbed the menus back from the table, turned around and walked away. Speaking to your customers in this way is simply not done. If I could, I would give *ZERO* stars here.

Food was good, portions were a bit small. Staff were very friendly.

We were at the restaurant around 1:30 p.m. Unfortunately, we were ignored by the service staff in a very unfriendly manner for over 20 minutes and were therefore unable to order anything or try the food. When we noticed that the waiters were sending away more guests because the kitchen was apparently closing soon, we left. Unfortunately, the two rather arrogant-seeming waiters didn't tell us this.

I'll give you a moment to guess how expensive my portion (the plate in the picture below) was... No lie, 15€. For 6 tortelloni, €15. I was shocked, to say the least. I was hoping that they would at least taste like 15€, because if they're that expensive they must be damn tasty, right? Or?? Puppy cake. Just sad. The waiter who served our table that day just ran off randomly while I was asking a question to talk to other customers and then came back 5 minutes later, even though we were actually ordering. I have no idea, so I wanted to put it right with “Yes, it’s a big city, everything is even more expensive.” But I’ll never forget the look in my girlfriend’s face when we saw my portion size.

Food was below 0815. Not worth the money. The toilets are inhumane and unusable. If the toilets are so dirty, what does the kitchen look like?!

It was tasty, but I personally felt it lacked a bit of polish in terms of taste. But of course everyone has different tastes. The waiters are top! We sat on the side of the alley and it was absolutely beautiful! The chairs, on the other hand, were unfortunately uncomfortable on the back. (Complaining at a high level 😉)

I was there with my girlfriend and when we said that we would just have a drink in the sunny weather, the older man immediately changed his attitude and behavior towards us. If you don't know what the customers want to order, you don't leave the starter there and then take it away with this behavior.

Food was normal 05/10. The toilet isn't that dirty

I've been twice. I liked the food both times. The seafood soup is amazing. The liver is just as tasty. The waiters are a little tired. And overall everything is fine. We were especially surprised by the prices: for the very center of the city - below average.

Disappointing family visit to the Italian restaurant We visited an Italian restaurant yesterday and were unfortunately quite disappointed with how family-friendly it was. Firstly, the food was just average - "so-so", as they say. There were no real flavor highlights that we would remember. What struck us as particularly negative, however, was the lack of facilities and consideration for families with small children. There was no children's menu, which made ordering difficult for our little ones. What was even more problematic was that there was no high chair available. Not only did this make our meal uncomfortable, but it also made us feel like children aren't really welcome here. Unfortunately, this restaurant is not recommended for a family evening as it is obviously not geared towards the needs of families with small children. I hope the management takes this feedback into account and improves the situation in order to be able to offer families a nice dining experience. In its current form we can unfortunately only give 2 stars.

Friendly waiters, unfortunately the food was so-so. Since we sat outside the food could have been hotter, but it got cold too quickly. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't inedible either. I would rather go to a different restaurant next time I visit Düsseldorf.

I just wanted to have an Aperol Spritz and coffee with my girlfriend in the nice weather. We were then sent away in a somewhat unfriendly manner by an older gentleman. It can be stressful as a waiter, but you don't have to allow yourself to become unfriendly.

I eat there with my girlfriend. We each had a Lassange, which was very tasty. The service was really friendly. It's like in every restaurant that the portions have become smaller, but the price-performance ratio is right. We've had different experiences. We will be back.

I already know L'Osteria and their massively large pizzas from other cities. Unfortunately, when I received the pizza with friends (raving about this pizza) after ordering, I was disappointed. For the price there was still a "normal" size, and the covering was also sparse. Ingredients were not "fresh" but dried (mushrooms). The atmosphere was mixed, but the toilets are underground and you walk past some camps. Terrible. Only the waiter, an older gentleman, was extremely nice and very accommodating and warm. This person alone didn't make the restaurant visit a disaster - but I wouldn't dine there again.

The food was okay, but nothing more. The portion of chicken breast with potatoes was very small and not particularly good. The pizza was ok, just a bit too much garlic. The ambience is okay, only the toilets could be cleaner and the path there is also lined with dirt and disorder. The prices are too high for what is offered.

The food came burnt but we didn't see it until we got home. We took photos, tried calling and also wrote emails. We never received an answer.

De smaak vind ik niet zo lekkker, jammer. En de pizza hier is ook niet zo groot zoals de andere L'Osteria waar ik geweest bent.

We hadden beter eerst wat reviews kunnen lezen. Mensen waren best wel vriendelijk maar daar had je alles mee gezegd. Het eten was echt slecht. We waren met 4 personen. Allemaal wat anders genomen. Nergens zat smaak aan. We hebben allemaal de helft van het eten laten staan. We zagen het bij meerdere mensen. Op de factuur stonden dingen die we niet eens genuttigd hadden. Bij navraag werd ons verteld dat dat normaal is en dat ze gewoon prijzen hanteren!

Eten is prima, sfeer is echt verschrikkelijk je hebt het gevoel dat je moet haasten met eten. Personeel onbeleefd en bot. Eerst en de laatste keer dat ik hier heb gegeten.

Sehr gute Qualität, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, schneller und freundlicher Service. Wir haben das Restaurant als positive Entdeckung verbucht.

Wir kamen um 17 Uhr mit Kinderwagen und wurden mit den Worten, es gäbe keinen Platz für einen Kinderwagen und wir sollten im La Grappa nach Plätzen fragen, abgewiesen. Dort war mehr los und wirklich wenig Platz für einen Kinderwagen. Wir sind dann in ein Restaurant gegangen, bei denen Familien mit Kindern willkommen sind.

Tja dat viel tegen bij mij, volgens mij was er weinig vers op mijn bord. Alleen het voorgerecht was lekker.

It's a shame that the staff is arrogant and rude because the food is quite good. Looking at other reviews it seems like it could be an issue with tourists/non german speakers. If you don't care about how they treat you then it might be a good choice, but if you care it's better to just avoid this place.

Das Essen war leider nicht gut, noch nie so eine schlechte Lasagne gegessen & die Portion war viel zu klein. Die Pizza war ok. aber mehr auch nicht.Schade .Das Personal war wirklich sehr freundlich ,aber das wars auch.Würde nicht mehr hingehen.

Italienische Eckosteria auf der Bergerstraße in bester Altstadtlage. Auf die schnelle eine Postion Pasta ist kein Problem. Die Qualität ist einwandfrei. Die Spaghetti waren im sehr positiven Sinne al dente und der Service prontissimo. Also alles astrein. Hier wollte ich schon lange mal vorbeischauen. Jetzt habe ich es endlich geschafft und war sehr zufrieden.

Zojuist een Lasagne gegeten hier en was heerlijk. De lasagne zat omringd met heerlijke chedder saus. Zodra ik weer in Duitsland ben ga ik hier gegarandeerd nog een keer heen. Ober was ook vriendelijk. Geweldige service gehad. Eten 10/10 Service 10/10 Sfeer 10/10

They have the best sea food soup that I ever had .. their lasagna below average and wasn't that good .. their tiramisu was a great closure for the night .. their service is outstanding

Ich verstehe nicht woher die guten Kommentare kommen.Die Pizza war zu 100% eine Tiefkühlpizza, die dann aber mit frischem Gemüse belegt wurde und die Lasagne war auch fertig und hatte kaum Geschmack. Personal war sehr freundlich und schnell aber geschmacklich leider eine Katastrophe. Schade ums Geld. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Gefüllte Ravioli mit Kastanien.Ziegenkäse mit Spinatsalat.Alles köstlich.Dazu einen Roséwein.Sehr lecker.

Das Essen hat mit italienischer Küche nix zu tun. Ich habe die pasta mit Hühnchen bestellt. Die Nudeln waren eher noch hart. Die Sosse und Hähnchen waren einfach Geschmacklos und fad. Portion war nicht gerade üppig für 14.90 €. Dennoch konnte ich sie nicht im Ansatz aufessen, aufgrund des miesen Geschmacks.

Der Service war gut, das Personal sehr freundlich und das Ambiente war auch in Ordnung. ABER das Essen: mit italienischer Küche hat das nichts zutun. Ich hatte Steinpilze Ravioli in Rahmsoße. Die Rahmsoße war das fertige Rahmsoßen Pulver von Maggi mit Sahne aufgegossen. (Den Geschmack kenne ich zu 100%) und das für 15,90€. Sorry aber da geht mehr 🫤😵‍💫

It was so full of people in the town this saturday that it was a little difficult to find a place to eat. Maybe because it was hundred of football fans in the town and also messe and other activities. But I got table here and had a meal for my memory book that was super from a to Å as we have that letter in Norwegian alphabet. The waiter was funny the first one from Napoli and the second one with good behaviour to me. Its not so easy to travel alone and pick a place to eat and take space as lonely traveller. The dinner I went for was Scaloppina al Pepe Verde it was fantastic. As drink I went for Warsteiner. I like beer to food when I travel. I normally dont take dessert but here I took a chance. It was called something like Sicilia Cassata. It was one of the best dessert ever. I was there over an hour and took more beer as extra dessert and enjoyed all people that come and eat and walked away. Or looked at the street and people who walked in all directions. I will have this meal in my memory book for long long time. Super service. Good food.

Gemütlicher Italiener, schöne Terrasse, netter aufmerksamer Service. Essen kam recht zeitnah und hat echt gut geschmeckt.
