L'Osteria Vetro in Düsseldorf

Portions were very small. The potatoes were burnt. The employee at the entrance wasn't very friendly.

Bad pizza, got bacon instead of guanciale despite it being explicitly stated on the menu. No Italians work there.

A lively restaurant with cramped seating, making it very noisy. The food was served quickly and was of good quality. Rather expensive, but those Düsseldorf rents have to be earned somehow.

Delicious calf's liver and pasta. Friendly staff and very efficient service! Unfortunately, the limoncello wasn't limoncello.

The lasagna was good to my taste. But three of my friends who ordered different kinds of pasta weren’t satisfied. The guy who assisted us was friendly and nice. Everything was ready without much wait. The only downside was the interior. It was a bit constricted and there was a bad smell of the WC when we came in, which affected our experience.

The staffed pasta with cheese in the oven was very good. The four cheese pizza was also good though one type of cheese detected.

Unfortunately, the pizza wasn't very good. The base was soft and the ingredients were carelessly thrown on. The service was also rather unfriendly, and we had to wait a long time before we could order.

You can also get frozen pizza for less…

Vetro is without a doubt one of the best Italian restaurants in Düsseldorf! The location in the heart of the Altstadt is absolutely fantastic – perfect for both a nice dinner and to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the area. The food is simply delicious. The pasta is homemade and full of flavor, the pizzas are crispy and delicious with top ingredients, and the menu offers classic Italian favorites with a little modern twist. Every dish feels like a trip to Italy. The service is warm, attentive and professional. You are greeted with a smile and feel welcome from the first moment. The atmosphere is elegant, yet informal and cozy – you can just as easily go here for a romantic dinner as for an evening with friends. All in all: Vetro is a place you simply have to experience. Fantastic location, fantastic food, fantastic service. A real gem in Düsseldorf – 10 out of 10!

It's nothing like the traditional Losteria (no large pizza, etc.). Don't be fooled by the name. I didn't tip for the first time in years, which is saying something.

We eat here at least 2 or 3 times a year because we know what we're getting. The food is very good in terms of quality. The price-performance ratio is generally good, but everything has gotten more expensive! A flat glass of wine is always a must with your meal. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and welcoming! You always get a free shot of schnapps or coffee at the end. The ambiance is rustic but cozy.

The best pasta...delicious, delicious. I highly recommend it. Today's special is fillet tips with porcini mushrooms in truffle sauce. Amazing!!! The starter was beef carpaccio and bruschetta, both excellent. Very friendly staff.

Unfortunately, it wasn't good. The pizza didn't taste good. The atmosphere was old and worn. It was very crowded but not nice. It didn't taste good. We won't go there again.

Centrally located restaurant in Düsseldorf. Food and drinks are at normal prices, which you would expect in Düsseldorf in the summer of 2025. If you sit outside, there's always something going on on the two streets! The "Frutti di Mare" pizza and lasagna (regular size, approx. 28 cm) for €14.90 were good. The lasagna for €13.90 could have been a bit more, but it was also good. Small Altbier (Altbier) €4.00, large (0.5 L) €6.00. Small Coke (0.2 L) for €3.50. Overall, L'Osteria is highly recommended! The ambiance is also good.

Unkind and rather unfriendly. A shame, actually a great Italian restaurant in downtown Düsseldorf. Ideal for outdoor seating in the summer. Unfortunately, the service is extremely taciturn. The menu is old, tattered, and corrections were made with a pen. This seems unkind and unprofessional. The food was okay. A little lacking in salt, and the meat was way overcooked. The pizza was delicious. But the prices were okay overall. I wouldn't go here again.

The staff were nice and friendly. The lasagna was okay, nothing special. The tortelloni with Gorgonzola and walnuts was tasty, but a bit overpriced at €15 for seven pieces. Otherwise, everything was fine.

We were here for the first time yesterday and were very satisfied overall. The food was consistently delicious, and the service was friendly and prompt. Only the chairs on the outdoor terrace were a bit uncomfortable and hard. But that didn't spoil the overall impression. We'll be back.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed... The staff were unfortunately unfriendly and very impatient. A total stress factor! Nevertheless, the food was okay. Even though the dishes were cleared from the table very quickly, which made us want to leave. All in all, go somewhere else!

I'm already familiar with L'Osteria and its massively oversized pizzas from other cities. However, when I received the pizza after ordering it with friends (who raved about it), I was sadly disappointed. For the price, they still offered a "regular" size, and the toppings were also sparse. The ingredients weren't "fresh," but dried (mushrooms). The ambiance was mixed, but the restrooms are underground, and you walk past some storage areas. Horrible. Only the waiter, an older gentleman, was extremely nice and very accommodating and welcoming. This person alone didn't make the restaurant visit a disaster—but I still wouldn't eat there again.

We were asked by the waitress not to order pizza as it would take a long time (>1 hour). Then we ordered pasta and other guests after us ordered pizza. We got the pasta after an hour and the other guests got the pizza before us.

A good choice for us on Saturday afternoon. In the old town in a small side street in a very quiet location. Great taste, very attentive service, the price/performance package was right.

Food is delicious, I would rate the portion as a children's plate. Price/performance doesn't fit. The only thing the waiter said about the criticism was "...I'll pass it on...", which for me was clearly an expression of "I don't care". Two stars really just because it was delicious.

Terrible! Ordered 1x tuna and 1x Parma pizza. After waiting for 30 minutes, the big surprise was that we were given 2x Parma 🤗 I kindly pointed out that we ordered 1x tuna and 1x Parma and not 2x the same pizza! There was just a stupid saying, "Yes, you can eat that" and then "I'll make new ones, let me know." My girlfriend had already eaten and after 30 minutes my real pizza arrived. Outrageous! Both taste really bad. Thin dough and ingredients simply slapped on top. For almost €15.00 the pizza is a disgrace. First wrong drinks, then wrong pizza, then get cheeky. The bad thing in the end was that instead of the correct order, we were charged the wrong order, including a tip surcharge! Please support the family businesses in Düsseldorf and not these inattentive and cheeky people at the Losteria in Düsseldorf's old town. Never never again!!!!!

The service is horrible! The server last placed coffees on the table corner, for us to reach out to, asked us to pay immediately and 2 espresso being 6eur, he didn't want to accept a card, saying it's too low to put on the card. Overall terrible experience, don't come here.

I ordered a Vitello Tonnato but it was out! Then I ordered a carpaccio! The one from Lidl in the Italian week is 10 times better! It didn't taste good at all! I wanted to impress a Turkish colleague and was just ashamed! Then we ordered two pizzas! Pizza tonno and pizza parma! The Tonno was burnt and the Parma ham and Parmesan cheese tasted like the soles of your feet! Waiter seemed very dissatisfied with the job! I'm Italian and we don't even sell such bad food on the street!

The pizza is very good! One of the few pizzerias that have good pizzas in terms of dough and toppings. The service is friendly and quick. The food comes quickly.

Pizza with salmon and spinach was tasty, spaghetti vongole ok. Aperitif was paid for separately, not stated on receipt.

We were warmly welcomed, served very well and had a really delicious meal. First we got a small free appetizer on the house. We ate them comfortably and then our dinner came shortly afterwards. I had the liver with mashed potatoes and my wife had porcini mushroom ravioli. The portions weren't large, but the prices were moderate for Düsseldorf and the food was really delicious. If we are in Düsseldorf again, we will definitely eat there again. You immediately feel at home there and have the impression that you have been a regular customer here for years. Once again a big compliment to the gentleman who was responsible for us and served us. I don't know if it was the boss himself, but that's how it should be.

This is by far the worst pizza I had in my life. It was burnt, greasy, and just plain awful. Don't make the mistake of going here. When I went by the place was almost empty and sadly I learned why - the hard way. The service was OK-ish.

A solid and down-to-earth Italian restaurant. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the food came to the table very quickly despite the large number of visitors and the taste and quality were absolutely fine. The prices are mostly fair too.

Don't mistake this for LOsteria, this is a cheap place with mediocre food and warm beer. The guy serving us didnt seem to enjoy his time here. Pizza was 3.5/5 but the spaghetti was 1.5/5.

The food was good, but the service and the friendliness of the staff fell by the wayside. We should wait at the counter for a free table. We weren't served here and when nothing else happened, we sat down at a free table ourselves. After 30 minutes we at least had our drinks, the food took over an hour. This is difficult with 2 children. The bill came after three requests. Guests who had been waiting for a long time were literally shouted at when they asked for a table. I understand that everything takes a little longer when there is a lot going on, but then it would be nice if you could at least recognize that an effort is being made. We felt more like a nuisance. At times there was no staff to be seen, neither behind the counter nor in the dining room on the ground floor. We certainly won't be coming back. Too bad L'Osteria. You can do that better in other restaurants.

Food very very average. The Vitello Tonnato was one of the worst I have ever eaten in Düsseldorf - slightly too salty. The waiter seemed listless. Unfortunately, the surrounding Italian restaurants were full. No repeat!

Pathetic attitude of the staff, so unfriendly that they don't even want to recommend any dishes or understand your taste. Looks like they are forced to work there and run here and there like a headless chicken without accomplishing much. Food was not upto the mark and the portions are very small compared to the price. Not recommended at all!

Nice Italian restaurant in the city center with a cozy outdoor terrace. The staff is helpful and was very patient with the selection. Drinks were consumed quickly and quickly. Was here spontaneously with my girlfriend. Unfortunately I made a mistake with the toppings for my pizza, but I asked very kindly if it was still okay. So I was able to enjoy a different taste that also completely convinced me. This is definitely how it will be remembered! Worth a recommendation.

The food is delicious. I can only give service 3 points. It takes forever or not at all for someone to come to the table. We had to go in to order more drinks, even though there were only three tables occupied and there wasn't much to do.

We sat down because we wanted to drink coffee but were then sent away because you are “only allowed to eat”. There were people sitting next to us who had just ordered something to drink. Outrageous.

Incredibly rude service here. We walked through the cozy streets of the old town. Around 5 p.m. we had the idea to go to a terrace before having dinner. We end up on the terrace of this restaurant. Very rudely and quickly, the waiter whipped 3 menus onto the table, without asking anything. When he came by after 20 minutes to ask what we wanted, we placed our drink order. That was like a red rag to a bull! The waiter barked at our table: "nur essen, nicht trinken" and grabbed the menus back from the table, turned around and walked away. Speaking to your customers in this way is simply not done. If I could, I would give *ZERO* stars here.

We were at the restaurant around 1:30 p.m. Unfortunately, we were ignored by the service staff in a very unfriendly manner for over 20 minutes and were therefore unable to order anything or try the food. When we noticed that the waiters were sending away more guests because the kitchen was apparently closing soon, we left. Unfortunately, the two rather arrogant-seeming waiters didn't tell us this.

By far the worst service. You have to know that you can only eat here. Drinking just one drink is not allowed. I couldn't believe it, but drinks are only possible with food.

I'll give you a moment to guess how expensive my portion (the plate in the picture below) was... No lie, 15€. For 6 tortelloni, €15. I was shocked, to say the least. I was hoping that they would at least taste like 15€, because if they're that expensive they must be damn tasty, right? Or?? Puppy cake. Just sad. The waiter who served our table that day just ran off randomly while I was asking a question to talk to other customers and then came back 5 minutes later, even though we were actually ordering. I have no idea, so I wanted to put it right with “Yes, it’s a big city, everything is even more expensive.” But I’ll never forget the look in my girlfriend’s face when we saw my portion size.

Food was below 0815. Not worth the money. The toilets are inhumane and unusable. If the toilets are so dirty, what does the kitchen look like?!

It was tasty, but I personally felt it lacked a bit of polish in terms of taste. But of course everyone has different tastes. The waiters are top! We sat on the side of the alley and it was absolutely beautiful! The chairs, on the other hand, were unfortunately uncomfortable on the back. (Complaining at a high level 😉)
