As always everything was great! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We were initially greeted very friendly by a young gentleman and pointed out that we would have to wait a while, this waiting time was perfectly fine. Later, a lady at our table served us in a very condescending and unfriendly manner! In my opinion, a no go for such a price range. We got our starter quickly, but we had to wait a long time for the main course. Our son, a little boy, went to the waitress who didn't pay him any attention, the other told him she would check where the food was .There was no feedback. Unfortunately, when the food finally arrived it didn't convince us, we were very hungry so I can't rate it 100%.

Unfortunately, Bar Olio has developed into a negative one. The arrogant and inattentive service left a bitter taste even before the meal. Just like the unkempt appearance of the women with holes in their socks. The starter (salmon tartare) tasted okay. The second starter we ordered (octopus) was served with commercial Ajvar sauce, which I find quite outrageous for the price range. The risotto with seafood had the character of rice pudding and was not convincing in terms of taste, as the bitter taste left by the service was still deep.

Went to Olio today, we first had a drink until we were assigned a table after about 30 minutes. We knew this because you can't reserve in advance (perfectly ok). The service was slightly overwhelmed, sometimes a bit unfriendly (it was very busy in the evening), forgot little things (drinks, starters) but brought them straight away and apologized when they were made aware of them. Now the most important thing: the food. Nothing special in my opinion. The food doesn't have the character of a restaurant, it's more like a tavern (we had a salad and gnocchi, and the steak dish). The whistle was missing, little/bland seasoning. The prices are more than high. Not justified for me. I know the Olio from before - no comparison to the quality back then. Conclusion: location good, food ok. Pricewise higher. Given the prices, I expect good food and top service. You can do it, but you don't have to.

I had high expectations for this restaurant, considered one of the best in the area. The weather was lovely and the atmosphere on the terrace was really pleasant. There were about ten tables occupied, everything seemed promising. I ordered rigatoni and a green salad, my friend chose the risotto. But from that moment on an extremely “interesting” experience began. The wait for the food dragged on forever, a full 45 minutes passed before anything came to our table. To my surprise, the food was served faster even to the guests who arrived 20 minutes after us - also risotto and pasta. When the rigatoni and risotto finally arrived, the salad was missing. When I politely asked, I received the answer: “That is being processed.” Why the salad that I had ordered as a starter was only served after the main course remains a mystery to me. Five minutes later the salad finally arrived - why couldn't you just honestly admit that you had forgotten it? We preferred not to have coffee after our meal, and when paying I asked somewhat ironically whether the meal always took so long. The answer: “We don’t use microwaves. It just takes time.” As if the lack of a microwave would justify the endless wait. The rigatoni was a solid 3.5 out of 5, the risotto only got a 2. My friend, who normally has a healthy appetite, couldn't even finish his risotto. It's really unfortunate that we wasted our time here. We certainly won't be coming back again.

As always in the early afternoon, very relaxed, nice welcome from the new employee. Waited 10 minutes for a table. We always eat delicious food You should ask for the wine list, but there is also competent help. Can't you please always have a summer party the day before, with sunflowers in water trays??!!?? Just beautiful.

Vor ca. 6 Wochen wurde das komplette Team inkl. Küchenpersonal ausgetauscht und seitdem ist nach fast 20 Jahren auch Zahlung per Karte möglich. Leider ist das Essen nicht mehr akzeptabel. Die Portionen kleiner, der Klassiker Spaghetti mit Kalbsbolognese nicht al dente, die “Bollo” nur mit mit Lupe zu erahnen und ein Hauch von Parmesan kostet auch noch extra. Der Oktopus an schwarzem Reis zäh wie Leder. Das war jetzt unser 2ter Besuch nach dem Reset, einen 3ten und Letzten bekommt ihr noch. Wir hoffen ihr nehmt euch die ehrliche Kritik zu Herzen!

Ich war kürzlich in diesem Restaurant und muss leider sagen, dass mein Besuch enttäuschend war. Der Service war in Ordnung, aber die Qualität des Essens ließ zu wünschen übrig. Wir haben eine Tomatensalat mit Mozzarella bestellt, der leider überhaupt keinen Geschmack hatte. Danach hatten wir den Pulpo, der sehr zäh und hart war. Insgesamt war das Essen nicht das, was wir uns erhofft hatten. Ich hoffe, dass sich die Qualität in Zukunft verbessert.

We always enjoyed going to Bar Olio as regular guests. Unfortunately, the arrogance of the service staff, some of whom are quite simple, is now putting us off. The staff really downplays the beautiful place and the great food.

We have been guests here since 2011, more or less continuously and quite often, except for the Corona hole. Today for the first time since 2019 (estimated). A lot has changed. Beforehand - come in, ask where something is available - sit down, wait. Now - wait until - perhaps - someone from the service sees that you are waiting and - more or less - friendlyly assigns you a seat. And then continue to wait until you can/are allowed to order. The “no reservation” policy remains active. The menu is unchanged except for 2-3 main courses - but not the portion size, which has changed and shrunk nicely. You can understand that, but you don't have to, because the prices have also been adjusted, but in the other direction. The fact is: if a concept runs for 10 years, it doesn't mean that you have to continue it forever. I have no problem waiting or going without a reservation (we live around the corner), but seeing the same menu for years and noticing how the portions and quality change negatively - I don't have to go through that, I don't pay less for it , rather more. Thanks Bar Olio, it was nice, but we'll try somewhere else.

Sitting outside is very relaxing when the weather is nice. Very good food. It's great that they didn't have to close.

Also, wie sich der titel sich beschreibt. Fantastische frische Qualität, wer das nicht mag, sollte bei all u can eat essen gehen. Wartezeiten, sowie es sich gehört, nichtmals dr oetker kann das so flott. Weinkarte, super auswahl. Bedienung, locker, ehrlich u flott. Logisch dass man sich nicht aufteilen kann.

I didn't like the food for this price, the waiters were normal but they forgot little things (coffee, water). The overall impression was not to come back!

I absolutely don't understand the hype. Incredibly UNFRIENDLY STAFF, I've never experienced anything like that. The FOOD was no more than LOW AVERAGE. Plus the WAITING TIME of OVER 1.5 HOURS for our food - NEVER AGAIN!!

VORSICHT !! Zuerst den Olio Knigge lesen, dann läuft man weniger Gefahr vom Personal dumm angezählt zu werden. Ich weiß nicht, was am Olio gut sein soll??? Das Essen ist durchschnittlich, das Personal unterirdisch und unverschämt. Das soll wohl eine ‚Masche‘ sein!? Es ist aber einfach nur schlecht👎🏻

Really nice location. Actually almost a classic in Düsseldorf, I finally tried the Bar Olio for the first time. The location is brilliant. Very central and yet quiet with a large outdoor area, which also increases the chances of getting a spot when the weather is nice. The dishes are displayed on a board as are the wines. The selection is pleasant and varied. There are pasta dishes, fish and seafood and much more (cross over). I had the great salmon sashimi and rigattoni ragu (real, slow-braised ragu). Plus two delicious wines, all fairly priced. I will definitely come back!

The place is so nice, it has a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy a beer if you catch the summer sun 😎🌞 The food is also good!

We were here on a Friday evening. It is not possible to reserve in advance. At the beginning you register with the service and are then given a rough waiting time. The waiting time can be bridged outside with a glass of wine or of course other drinks. Our wait was supposed to be about an hour, but we were able to take a seat at the bar after about 45 minutes. You can view the current menu online or scan a QR code and you will be redirected directly to the relevant page. As a starter we chose the salmon tartare / buffalo burrata / giardiniera and the steak tartare / allez retour. We enjoyed both starters and got off to a good start. For the main course we chose the homemade spinach taglioline / sage / tomato and the crispy pork belly / ponzu / seasonal vegetables marinated in escabeche. The spinach tagliolines were super tasty. The pork belly was also very tasty, although the portion was quite small. The service was courteous, friendly and attentive. We liked it a lot.

Haven't been to the Olio in a long time, why? You can't make a reservation; so you have to wait your turn with a glass of wine. A little bit of whining and asking actually helps! But overall the atmosphere is very relaxed, food and wine are excellent and well priced. And once you've sat down, whether at the bar or outside in the garden, you can enjoy the excellent service and the wonderfully creative cuisine, special requests included. Conclusion. If you have time and want to indulge in a little la dolce vita, the Olio is the right place for you.

Ordered the Asparagus Risotto which was not tasty at all. The rice was still hard and it was pretty soupy. Service was non existent and we had to wave the server over several times to order. Would not visit this restaurant again.

I nipped in for a quick dinner on my own and sat at the bar. Service was attentive without being overbearing, it was busy without being claustrophobic and the food was incredible. I’ll be back tomorrow.

I had gone as a single traveller on recommendation of a friend. I called as was told it wasn’t bookable. They had plenty of availability as a show on in town so quiet. On arrival I was ushered to the bar as though they really couldn’t be bothered to deal with a single diner. I was told a wait of 20 minute max. It then appeared that the staff ignored me hoping I’d leave or eat searched at the bar but obviously paying g resteeant price. Not good and the staff were all cold on treatment of me. As though something wrong with single person dining, very not coool as the staff were trying to act! What a shame

I rarely give it, but this time: five stars for food, service and ambience! I simply feel comfortable as a guest in the authentic atmosphere. It's nice that there are restaurants like this. I can't afford to eat there very often because of the prices. But, quality has its price! Had spinach pasta with sage last visit. Terrific!

Excellent restaurant. Helpful service and food is ok. They have delicious wines that you can taste in advance. Unfortunately the weather was too cold for us to sit outside. I can imagine that the terrace is a bit more cozy :). It's a shame that you can't make a reservation and pay by card...

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. A fish soup for 13€ in which you have to look for the mini pieces of fish, and the dessert is the winner. Rice pudding with strawberries and pistachios. The amount would have easily fit into the Müller rice pudding cup, which in itself wouldn't be the biggest problem if it weren't for the hefty price of €13.50. That's not just cheeky, it's a rip-off at it's best!!! Incomprehensible

Today I had dinner here with work colleagues. Next to the entrance I read on a board "Rice pudding (approx. 150g) with strawberries (approx. 50g), pistachios and rhubarb (just carve)" for €13.50. What can I say. Absolutely disappointing what was presented to me. The presentation was top. Craftsmanship is medium to poor. Value for money Absolutely outrageous. In the retail store this is a cheap product, since the rice pudding was cold it is also a stock product (which you can easily prepare for 2 days in advance) and then charging €13.50 for it is really outrageous. Nevertheless, thank you for the hospitality, but I'll look for another restaurant next time.

Unfortunately currently only average. The quality of the food is good, we like the atmosphere, we find the service friendly and good, but the portions have become very small. Overall, we weren't as impressed with it as we had been on previous visits.

Outstanding. No reservations - but that's a good thing for this concept! Waiting time can be passed pleasantly outside with a beer or wine. The food is second to none for the price! Service is attentive, friendly and relaxed. The concept is cozy, untidy, casually relaxed and professional at the same time.

The restaurant in Düsseldorf is in a quiet location. There is parking on site. Now for the most important part. The food is very good with some interesting dishes on the menu. Service has become significantly better. We also arrived late (9 p.m.) when it was noticeably emptier.

The service we received was arrogant and unfriendly. In addition, the person being instructed “no longer saw us” at our seats in the outdoor area, which is why we only received a table after asking and waiting for another 30 minutes (total waiting time of 2 hours). Then a main course was forgotten at our table, which was only commented on with: Maybe your friends are already sharing something with you. My drink was then forgotten and when I asked, I finally found out that the last bottle had been sold to another customer. There was no apology at all from any of the four service staff.

The best store in terms of atmosphere. For decades! On Fridays when I go in and it's full and people are standing and waiting for a table with a glass of wine and it smells of good food and espresso and it's loud and lively... Wonderful!

From the outside you think: Hmm 🤨, really? (in winter of course 🌧️☔️) - very cozy inside (plan for a bit of a wait), relaxed, friendly service and really delicious food.

The Penne Arabiata especially but also all the other dishes are outstanding 👌🏻 is my absolute favorite restaurant in Düsseldorf and I have been going there again and again for more than 15 years and the quality of the food is always at the highest level for the price and in a relaxed atmosphere

Great shop, great food. Not recommended for people who are used to treating the waiters like slaves from cruises and Turkey all-in holidays. Also not recommended for people who think a noodle has to be cooked for so long that it just slides down their greedy throat. Also not suitable for people who value fancy chairs more than good food.

Das Olio ist Eigen, Sperrig und Strikt. Und das ist gut so, hält viele Dauernörgler davon ab , Gast dort zu sein. Nachmittags , nach dem Mittagsgeschäft ist es herrlich entspannt. Tags sind die altgedienten Profis am Tablett. Schöne lustige Atmosphäre, Gäste alle entspannt.. Weinkarte muss man erfragen, man findet viele fair kalkulierte Weine. Aber immer Vorsicht , das man keinen NaturWein erwischt, falls man ihn nicht schätzt , wie ich. Neu auf der Karte das Schwarzfederhuhn, schwarzes Risotto und Herbsttrüffel. Woanders gäbe es dafür einen Stern. Von mir volle Punktzahl. Wir hatten es 3 x am Tisch, mega zubereitet.

Food, wine, service and ambience Simply unique.

Ja Gentrification ist ein Graus und dieser Laden möchte sich dagegen behaupten. Vielleicht war der Inhaber auch mal in einem Szene-Laden aus den 90igern in Berlin-Prenzlauerberg und wollte das hier adaptieren. Nur mit dem Unterschied, dass die hiesige Kundschaft nur aus Menschen besteht, welche für die Gentrifizierung mit verantwortlich sind. Gerne wollen sich all die Gäste, mit 50 Jahren und älter, fühlen, als seien sie wieder Studenten. Das Ambiente gibt es her. Speisekarte per QR-Qode ist hip, da müssen die Bierpreise auch nicht mit drauf stehen. Bei diesen Finkenbechern fragt eh keiner nach dem Preis. Das Essen war gut, aber auch keiner besonderen Erwähnung wert. Das einzige was einem Szene-Lokal fast gleich kam, waren die Toiletten. Eng, dunkel und nicht wohlriechend. Da aber keiner der Gäste subversive Aufkleber in der Tasche hatte und/oder die "hohe" Kunst des taggen nicht gelernt hatte, waren die Wände auch entsprechend clean. Also wer Szene haben möchte, muss entweder eine Zeitreise in vergangene Zeiten machen oder am Hauptbahnhof abhängen.

Essen prima will heißen sehr lecker. Service war sehr nett. Ambiente urig, rustical und mein Geschmack. Abzüge weil wir sehr beengt saßen, man nur bar bezahlen kann (geht heutzutage gar nicht mehr!) und die "Rechnung" nicht konform d.h. für die Absetzung geeignet ist. Aber für das Essen komme ich privat gerne wieder.

Ausgezeichnete Fischsuppe! Ps. Penne arrabbiata sehr zu empfehlen.

Nice lil café had good time there but policy is kinda stupid like u can't eat food of your own there, yeah kinda expected but I was eating candy that I had in my pocket and still the waitress kinda was like "Please dont bring any kind of food in this restaurant it is restaurants Policy" so thats kinda weird.

Das Essen ist hier sehr lecker...egal ob Fisch, Fleisch, Pasta oder vegetarische Gerichte. Es schmeckt einfach gut. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ein gelungener Abend. Kleiner Tipp: Keine Tischreservierung möglich. Daher sollte man früh dort sein...und keine Kartenzahlung, nur bar.

Essen Gut Personal ist leider manchmal unfreundlich und die letzten 3 male kein Platz bekommen. Auch nach 30 Minuten warten...

Sind wir hier richtig? Das war unser erster Gedanke...Wir waren sehr angenehm überrascht. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut und das Personal total freundlich. Wir haben es auch schon weiterempfohlen und wir werden uns auf jeden Fall wiedersehen. Danke das wir eure Gäste sein durften!

Servierter Wein war über dem Zenit (einfacher Barbara aus 2015 (8 Jahre)). Haben das Personal darauf aufmerksam gemacht. Kein Verständnis oder gar eine Entschuldigung, sondern die lapidare Antwort: Vllt muss der Wein so schmecken. NEIN, ich kenne den Wein seit 15 Jahren. Der muss nicht so schmecken!

Eine mediterrane Oase im sommerlichen Düsseldorf

Das Essen ist super lecker, leider kann man nicht reservieren und wartet oft 1h oder länger bis man einen Tisch bekommt. Auch wenn es die Bar Olio nicht nötig hat ein anderes System einzuführen, weil der Ansturm aufgrund des super Essens und des Ambientes toll ist, wäre es als Gast so viel angenehmer, wenn man hier eine andere Lösung für die Gäste findet - man kommt zur Bar Olio und freut sich schließlich sehr auf den Abend und muss dann doch kurzfristig umplanen, da kein Platz mehr frei ist. Das ist dann leider immer sehr schade.

Ich habe lange damit gezögert mich in Bezug auf die Situation im Restaurant Bar Olio in der Schirmerstraße 54, 40211 Düsseldorf zu melden. Da es aber auch meine Nachbarn betrifft, für die ich ein gewisses Pflichtgefühl empfinde, möchte ich Ihnen ein paar Vorkommnisse in der KW 18, 2023 schildern. Eine blonde Oma-Kellnerin hat uns draußen dynamisch empfangen und ließ uns nach einem Intermezzo einfach stehen, da sie offensichtlich kein Überblick über die freien Tische hatte, draußen als auch drin. Wir entschieden uns spontan drin zu tafeln. Verwundert lagen Jacken auf den freien Tischen. Nach mehreren Minuten haben wir dann einen Kellner hinter der Bar angesprochen. Er hat uns einen Tisch zugewiesen, der sich wenige Minuten später als besetzt präsentierte. Grund: Eine klumpige Luft-schnappende Großmutter rannte die drei Stufen rein und erklärte „Der Tisch ist besetzt, haben Sie die Jacke nicht gesehen?“ Augenscheinlich hat sie draußen auf einen Tisch in der Sonne gewartet und synchron drin einen weiteren Tisch per Jacke reserviert. Es erinnerte mich an ein Handtuch-Krieg auf Mallorca. Eine Speisekarte haben wir leider nicht erhalten. Die Gerichte hat uns die obige blonde Oma-Kellnerin empfohlen und gebracht. Diese waren ziemlich mager angerichtet und nicht unser Geschmack. Wir aßen Chips mit langen Zähnen. Ein Bewirtungsbeleg / Rechnung haben wir auf Signal nicht erhalten. Die obige Oma-Kellnerin hat sich überraschend zu uns an den Tisch gesetzt und schrieb mit einem Kugelschreiber Zahlen auf einen Zettel runter. Ihre Stirnmuskulatur wurde durch Ihre gesamte Mimik stark beansprucht und so zeigten sich auf Ihrer Stirn Falten. Sie präsentierte uns Ihr gesamtes mathematisches Können und enthüllte patzig, dass sie Ihre Fähigkeit im Kindergarten gelernt hat. Dafür haben wir Ihr 10 % Obolus gegeben :) Wir verließen Bar Olio ohne ein Bewirtungsbeleg. Abschließend können wir das Restaurant Bar Olio in Düsseldorf Pempelfort nicht weiterempfehlen, es sei denn, sie möchten Zeit und Geld sinnlos tilgen.

Meines Erachtens ist der Laden total überbewertet!!!! Das Essen ist okay hat mich jetzt aber nicht umgehauen, aber dafür verdammt teuer.... viel zu teuer!!!! In Düsseldorf gibt es einfach genug andere Restaurants wo man auch gut und relativ preiswert essen kann, teuer heißt nicht immer gut. Es gibt auch kein elektronische Kasse, es wird alles auf einen Zettel geschrieben und man muss dann halt das so hinnehmen was die Kellner so rechnen... im großen und ganzen waren wir das erste und letzte Mal da.

Ich sach es wie es ist, man will nicht das der Abend vorbei geht!

Wäre der charmante Kellner draußen nicht gewesen, hätte ich glaube ich nur 1 Stern vergeben. Leider wieder so ein Ort, wo man den Hype nicht nachvollziehen kann. Wir haben eine Stunde draußen gewartet, wo wir uns an keinen Tisch setzen durften um dann drinnen - in einer lauten Bar-Atmosphäre - Platz nehmen zu können. Das Iberico-Udon-Gericht wurde mit kaltem Rührei (aus der Verpackung/Dose) serviert…leider gar nichts besonderes…das Fleisch habe ich auch nicht vertragen. Nach nur einer halben Stunde wurden wir dann bereits gebeten an die Bar zu wechseln, sodass vier weitere Gäste Platz finden können…also alles in einem hohe Preise für einen unangenehmen Abend.

Der Gast wird gemordet: kein Brot mehr, Speisen kleiner als die Hälfte im Vergleich zu vor Corona, aber dafür vielfach teuer! Stühle super unbequem. Nach dem Essen muss man sofort den Tisch frei machen, damit neue Gäste essen können. Selber darf man dann auf den Stufen zum Bauwagen im Abseits sitzen. Die Kellner sind größtenteils schnippisch und frech. Man wird als Gast gemaßregelt, wie man sich zu benehmen habe. „Das macht man aber nicht“ oder „Sie glauben doch nicht, dass ich sie jetzt beraten kann. Schauen Sie sich mal um, was hier los ist … wir sind das Olio!“ … gehts noch?! Anzumerken ist, dass es kein elektronisches Abrechnungssystem gibt. Man bekommt einen handgeschriebenen Zettel, wo nicht das drauf steht, was man tatsächlich verzehrt hat. Alles geht ausschließlich in bar! Das Finanzamt sollte dort mal ein Auge drauf richten.

Tolles Essen. Toller Service (insbesondere Nina und Sina!). Tolle Weine. Immer wieder gerne hier.

Ich liebe die Bar Olio und gehe schon seit Jahren regelmäßig zum Essen oder in seltenen Fällen auch mal nur zum trinken hin. Man sollte zu den Stoßzeiten immer Wartezeit mitbringen. Aber mit einem Glas Wein auf der Bank lässt es sich immer gut warten und es lohnt sich IMMER.

Das Essen ist großartig und die Weinkarte wirklich toll! Manchmal wünschte man sich etwas mehr Service, aber bei den großen Andrang ist es verständlich, dass die Mitarbeiter*innen etwas gestresst sind.

Das Essen ist der Wahnsinn. Kleine Karte dafür aber richtig gut gemacht. Leider ist der Service "zu locker" drauf. Während wir hungrig darauf warteten dass unsere Bestellung aufgenommen wird, hat der Kellner noch entspannt einen Wein an der Theke getrunken (waren kurz nach Ladenöffnung da). Desweiteren waren alle Plätze draußen belegt und uns wurde drinnen an der Bar ein Platz angeboten. Dabei war der gesamte Laden drinnen LEER. Auf den Tischen immer nur Zettel mit :"Außer Betrieb"?? Wirklich kurios. Konnten wir vor Ort leider nicht erfragen, da die Kollegen super viel zutun hatten. Es sind alle nett und freundlich. Man wird direkt geduzt und man fühlt sich wirklich wohl. Das Gute Essen hat einiges wieder wett gemacht.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Nettes Personal unglaublich gutes Essen. Wenn ich hin geht es selber schuld. Oder hat keine Ahnung.

what an amazing place in a 'back to basic' setting. all crew was very very friendly (and genuine) so the night already started very relaxed. i was surprised to be told to wait an hour for a table but it was worth it. Caesar salad was the best i ever had since the dressing was 5* and full of flavour. noodles good. riz au lait amazing though in my opinion the ice cream too rich for a dessert in combination with the cream of the riz au lait. ordered a grauburgunder but this lady convinced me to try a weissburgunder and that was even better! and to be honest... i am so happy they don't serve Coke Zero here. it would be a downgrade of this sincere place. keep up the good work and i will be back next year!

Naja, also Preis Leistung ging so. Service nur das Nötigste. Essen passte die Beschreibung nicht zum Gericht, dafür zu teuer. Schade.

"Sch….ß' mir auf den Kopf - und ich sag' danke für den Hut!" In diesem Gedankenkonstrukt müssen wohl jene gefangen sein, die freiwillig in die Olio Bar gehen. Getrieben vom Drang des Andersseins suchen gut betuchte Gäste das kulinarische Erlebnis des sinnbildhaften Bespucktwerdens. Aber wo fange ich bloß an... Die Terrasse ähnelt bereits vom Parkplatz aus einer Kreuzung aus Anarchisten-Camp und Aussteiger-Zuflucht. Die scheinbar vom Sperrmüll bezogene und wild zusammengewürfelte "Garnitur" ist in dem Sinne nicht wirklich behilflich, dabei diesen Verdacht zu erweichen. Der divenhafte Kellner scheint in seiner großen Entscheiderrolle die perfekte Stelle für seinen persönlichen Machtmissbrauch gefunden zu haben. Womöglich ist er so oft persönlich angegriffen worden, dass dieser Mensch aus einer Abwehrreaktion heraus es überhaupt nicht mehr versteht, vernünftig und respektvoll mit anderen Menschen umzugehen, besonders mit Gästen. Ein Beispiel: Ein jugendliches Mädchen fragt lieb nach einer Cola Zero und bekommt ein scharfes "HABEN WIR NICHT!". Als das Mädchen einen anderen Wunsch äußern will, hat sich der Kellner schon halb weggedreht und befiehlt nur noch mit einem harschen "WARTE!" zum Schweigen. Schön, dass ihr keine Coca-Cola, sondern die schicke Fritz-Alternative habt. Das junge Mädchen, mit ihrer Freundin am Tisch, dafür aber zu erniedrigen, war für alle anwesenden unangenehm. Das Lokal ist klein und eng, die Inneneinrichtung versucht auf Krampf anders zu sein und macht dabei so viel falsch. Dreckige Gläser und halb zerstörte Tische werden niemals "IN" sein. Aber vielleicht war es mir ja nur nicht bewusst, dass ich auf einem Recycling-Hof esse... Vieles ist Geschmackssache und verschiedene Restaurants haben nun mal verschiedene Konzepte. Das ist okay. Aber gerade die italienische Küche ist in ihrer Gastfreundschaft warm und hebt den Gast zum Freund. Dass die Olio Bar diesen Gedanken noch nicht verstanden hat, empfinde ich als kapitalen Fehler. Selbst gutes Essen schmeckt mir unter diesen Bedingungen nicht... und so gut war das Essen absolut nicht. Italienische Küche bleibt gehobene Gastronomie oder gemütliche Trattoria.

Als Kunde in der Bar Olio hatte ich eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung. Die Kellnerin war extrem arrogant, ignorant und unfreundlich. Die langen Wartezeiten haben die Situation nicht verbessert, und die Tatsache, dass man nur bar zahlen kann, war ebenfalls unpraktisch. Insgesamt war der Besuch leider enttäuschend und ich werde nicht wiederkommen.

Essen ist gut ABER man sitzt unglaublich unbequem und leider hat man auch keine Lust, Stunden lang auf einen Tisch und dann wiederum auf sein Essen zu warten.

Nach wie vor einer der schönsten Location in DD und früher mal ein Stammlokal von uns…ABER!!! Man kann nicht reservieren, wer nicht schon um 16 Uhr in der Schlange steht muss mit langen Wartezeiten rechnen (wir waren um 17 Uhr dort und nach über 3 Stunden haben wir einen Tisch bekommen) Sehr (sehr) unfreundliches Personal und super unorganisiert. Essen ist gut, aber eine Straße weiter bei Aldo Genovese deutlich besser.

Really honest and open bar with a warm welcome - did not have food so did not rate but options looked excellent. Can be easily missed but really recommend to anyone who visits Dusseldorf.

Delicious food! But - serving sizes can be tiny! And the outdoor chairs are very uncomfortable.
