The wrong place for cyclists who just want a drink.

Absolutely fabulous! Really cute Hessian style restaurant with good atmosphere and good views. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Parking galore nearby.

The waitresses are super attentive. The service is really good. The food, however, is decent value for money, though not exceptional.

Had a veal schnitzel for 29,50€, but that was too little for me

The terrace is very nice; we were lucky enough to get a table up front with a lovely view. The food: the hand cheese was very good, as were the ribs and venison bratwurst with sauerkraut, and the schnitzel was a bit dry. The service was actually good, too. But the worst part came at the end: we were there with friends from the USA, who also paid the bill. Afterwards, the waitress complained about the amount of the tip (almost 10%) and gave us a lecture about who she had to share it all with. Unnecessary and embarrassing!

Unfortunately, we were put off by the staff. We asked for a table for two at the entrance to the beer garden. It was around 6:30 p.m., and almost all the tables were completely free; there were fewer than 10 guests there. It was also getting cloudy and a bit chilly. The young lady said all the tables were reserved and wanted to seat us on wooden benches in a secluded area. However, we would have felt very uncomfortable and lonely there. Our suggestion that we sit somewhere else as soon as the reservations came in was immediately rejected. When another employee happened to be passing by, he said we could sit at any table for four, to which he was immediately told by the lady that she had already told us that wasn't possible. The employee then added, "That's a clear message." We felt completely unfriendly and condescending, so we went to eat Indian food in Frankfurt. We had simply asked, quite normally and politely, for a table for two and were completely turned away. We find it incomprehensible that the staff is obviously deliberately scaring away customers and doesn't want the restaurant to generate revenue. Certainly not all the tables were reserved, and even if they were, hundreds of people wouldn't have arrived within the next 20 minutes, especially as the weather was getting cooler and worse. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try the restaurant, and due to the staff, we wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

In my opinion, it deserves five stars. A beautiful location, good food, and attentive service. What was even more amazing was that she took the food orders of 10 people at once without writing anything down, and everything arrived correctly.

I am not one that often gives bad reviews since I want to believe that sometimes people just have shitty days. But this has to be one of the rudest encounters I’ve ever had. It all started with asking if we ordered in the bar or at the table - and we got the first rude remark which we ignored then we waited 25 minutes to even be allowed to order since the waitress ignored us 6 times. At this point it was just funny and we laughed it off. Then when we got to order, the table was apparently booked, and we were ok with moving, but the table was booked 45 minutes later. but it was still this atmosphere of us not understanding what we did wrong. I have such an understanding for people working service, beeen there myself, but it doesn’t cost you much to not be an asshole, even if you have a shitty day!

I've been coming here with my family for many years. Always delicious and super friendly service.

All I can say is: What a wonderful place! This restaurant is a real insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic German cuisine and a breathtaking view. The price/performance ratio is also decent.

Food always great, very crowded at peak times

The Lohrberg-Schänke undoubtedly has a prime location and no competition for miles around. The food is good, commensurate with the price. Unfortunately, however, each guest at our table was served at completely different times, with the longest time difference being about 25 minutes. The staff are very friendly but unfortunately, they were completely overwhelmed by the number of guests. This isn't the staff's fault, though. They simply need more staff to handle this volume.

The restaurant sits on top of a little hill, within the park area, next to a vineyard, that overlooks the city of Frankfurt. Very nice views. The food was very good. I had the Rumpsteak, and ordered it medium-well, which I prefer more on the well side, and it was more on the medium side, but it was good. Given that we were a big group, and the outside terrace was full, the service was great, and always stopping by to check if we needed something else. Great experience!

Great ambience, a view, super delicious food, worth it

The service is very friendly, but on busy days there could be more. Nevertheless, service is prompt, special requests are accommodated, and questions are answered. Dogs are warmly welcomed and offered water. The kitchen sometimes takes a while, unfortunately, even with dishes that aren't particularly well-prepared; sometimes it's quick. You sit at fixed beer tables or at tables, sometimes a bit cramped, but with a nice view.

The Lohrberg-Schänke is highly recommended! The food is wonderfully home-style, but there are also delicious alternatives such as vegetarian dishes and fresh salads. I particularly like the schnitzel – huge, delicious, and very reasonably priced. The value for money is spot on across the board. Add to that the great atmosphere: while you enjoy your meal, you have a fantastic view of Frankfurt. Perfect for a relaxing evening with friends or family.

We had read a lot beforehand, including about unfriendly and poor service. Everything was perfect for us. The food was good (one of the four had to add more seasoning, okay, he almost always complains!), it came quickly despite the restaurant being fully booked, the apple wine tasted very good, and our server remained friendly and—above all—cheerful throughout the evening, not just with us, despite the really hot temperatures. Cheers to Tiana (sorry if the spelling isn't quite right, phon...). Ambience: It was hot, it was outside, it was a whirl of people, laughter, views (over Frankfurt), and occasional interactions with neighboring tables. The atmosphere of the evening: Very good! The location is very well situated. We were extremely satisfied and will definitely come back...

The Lohrberg-Schänke has unfortunately declined considerably in recent years. The quality of the food is now average at best. However, the decisive factor in not returning for the time being is the service. Disappointing and unprofessional in almost every respect! It's a real shame, because the location and setting are still beautiful!

Opening hours aren't adhered to here. The kitchen closes early and guests who have traveled far are turned away so "the chefs can finish work early," while the waitresses shove the food into their mouths with relish. Keep your eyes open when choosing a career... that's just how the restaurant industry works.

Este es un gran lugar con vistas a la ciudad. El restaurante y la comida es increíble y muy típico Alemán. No puede equivocarse en eso. Pero tienen que hacer algo del lado del servicio. Primero, contratar más camareros, ya que el pobre estaba completamente abrumado y el servicio era muy lento. Olvida si quieres una segunda cerveza con tu comida. Segundo, si estás tratando de impresionarme con no anotar el orden de 8 personas, eso es genial, pero solo si no olvidas cosas. No seas un héroe, solo anota la orden y estoy mucho más impresionado si eres capaz de servir todo según lo planeado. Por último, deja tu actitud. Sé que los alemanes tenemos reputación, pero no estamos a la altura. Pero agradable y amigable con los clientes que están pagando dinero por ello. Además, aun así no hay una gran propina en Alemania, si lo hago propina a la manera americana, un simple agradecimiento estaría bien, ¿no crees?

We had the pleasure of celebrating at the Lohrberg Schänke with a group of 20 people and were absolutely thrilled. Our table in the cozy attic offered a beautiful atmosphere with rustic charm. Even though the restaurant was busy and a wedding party was taking place at the same time, the service was absolutely first-class. The waitresses were attentive, warm, and surprisingly fast – no request went unfulfilled. What was particularly impressive was that our meals were served almost simultaneously, which isn't always the case with a large group. And the quality? Simply outstanding! Every dish was lovingly prepared, perfectly flavored, and left nothing to be desired. The Lohrberg Schänke, with its outstanding service and delicious food, provided us with an unforgettable evening. We'll definitely be back!

First time visiting Germany, and this place was amazing. The vegetarian option was just as good as the steak option. Must try the apple wine with the beautiful view!

A very nice location with a fantastic view of the Frankfurt ski line. Excellent service, friendly and quick-witted. 😁 .....best wishes to Manu from us Görlitzers...it was a lovely and fun evening. It doesn't taste good; I'd bet the schnitzel was from the day before yesterday, as dry as it was. The orange didn't look fresh either. The nuggets were really hard; the kids only ate the fries. Too bad :( It's full, but given the location, it seems like you don't even have to make an effort anymore :(

A great place for the whole family! I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of quality and prices: the food is really above average, while the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. I was especially pleased with the attention of the staff - they treat children with warmth and take their wishes into account. The atmosphere encourages you to take your time and enjoy your meal. We are already planning our next visit - such places become favorites!

Absolutely fantastic location with a fantastic view of the Frankfurt skyline on the local mountain of Germany's only cosmopolitan city. The food is very good. Traditional Frankfurt cuisine with excellent value for money. Love it. The hand cheese and apple wine are fantastic...

A thoroughly enjoyable visit to the Lohrberg-Schänke. The location above Frankfurt offers a magnificent view, which is especially inviting in good weather. The ambiance is pleasant, and the staff very friendly. The menu offers down-to-earth yet flavorful dishes. I would particularly like to highlight the chocolate soufflé with a liquid center, a delicious little highlight of the evening. Even if the parking situation requires a bit of patience on busy days, the visit is definitely worth it. A clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy good food and a wonderful view in a pleasant atmosphere.

A review to attract attention. Card payment is possible from 10€ if you take it away. In a restaurant from 20€. I wanted to get lemonade for my child in the heat because my own water ran out, but there was no cash, only a card. The guys shrugged their shoulders and that's it. No one sold anything, naturally. Sad and unfriendly service.

Unfortunately, there was no indication anywhere that card payments are only possible for orders over €20. We had only ordered drinks for €6 and wanted to pay by card. Since we didn't have any cash with us, we were forced to pay €20 by card. This should have been clearly communicated in advance – for example, on the menu or at the entrance.

The view from the front is amazing! If you don't get turned away despite having a reservation, and even though half of the dining area at the front is blocked off. It's sad when you then have to search for a seat in front of the restroom. That was very annoying. The food was okay.

A real recommendation! Delicious Hessian cuisine! Great for a cozy dinner or date. First, take a walk on the Lohrberg and then stop off at the inn. There's also a kiosk for snacks, ice cream, etc.

An old tourist restaurant with a view over Frankfurt. I've been observing the restaurant's varied history for about 50 years. A real recommendation again in summer 2025! The concise menu features the essential Frankfurt specialties, the portions are generous, and the service is friendly and prompt. The Bembel (a traditional German beer) is no longer on the menu, but can be ordered.

We ate at the Lohrberg Schänke last night. The food was fantastic: firm asparagus, a superbly roasted schnitzel topped with ham and cheese. The white wine was dry, tart, and drinkable, an excellent Pinot Gris. The waiter was young, smart, and very attentive, named Michael. Thank you very much.

A good restaurant with friendly service and reasonable prices, located right on Lohrberg Hill. Reservations are recommended on weekends, as it's particularly busy on Sundays.

One of our favorite restaurants in Frankfurt. A great and attentive service team, regular small seasonal specialties, and, in addition to traditional apple and other wines, a large selection of soft drinks is available. The location is unique, and the walk afterward with an incredible view of Frankfurt is a must.

Unfortunately we didn't eat here but what we saw was great

We spontaneously went to Lohrberg on a friend's recommendation and enjoyed a delicious dinner in the tavern in perfect weather. Unfortunately, we were very late, but we were still served. The food was absolutely delicious. The salad and dressing were fantastic 😍

Great restaurant with a view of Frankfurt

Good food, friendly & humorous service, great location

The food is delicious, but you sit on a garden chair, which is very uncomfortable. The idyll is hardly present due to the mass activity, and the bike racks are out of sight.

I've been to this restaurant many times and have spent many euros here for celebrations and birthdays. However, what happened to me a while ago with a certain, pushy waiter, G*Khan, put me off and spoiled my appetite. At first, I was only hesitantly offered a seat in a crowded beer garden, even though there was one side where everything was free, but nothing had been cleared up. Then, waiter G brought the wrong food after a 30-minute wait. When I pointed this out to him, he looked annoyed and reacted aggressively. After another 15 minutes, during which I wasn't offered a replacement, I got up and left the restaurant. On my next visit, the same waiter accused me in front of other guests at dinner of having skipped out on the bill during the visit described above. In a very aggressive, rude, and extremely pushy manner, this made me very uncomfortable and spoiled my appetite. In general, this waiter, Gkhan, isn't cut out for service. He's very unreflective and lacks manners; you shouldn't let such a waiter loose on guests. The rest of the crew is very friendly, and the food is good.

The food is always super delicious! We like being there. The atmosphere in the beer garden is also great, we don't like sitting in the front area. Service varies. It often happens that the drinks are empty and you have to wait forever to be able to order more. A little more attention to almost empty glasses would be desirable. Otherwise very friendly and very accommodating when problems arise. All in all, always worth a visit - but only with prior reservation. Only parking is a disaster on weekends in the summer. It is advisable to carpool in order to even get a parking space.

The first time in the Lohrberg Schenke, and the portions are really huge. I had beef sausage with mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut and horseradish. The mustard was brought especially, although I asked for it, 2 bags of mustard were brought to me. There was still Viennese, schnitzel with cranberries and fries, although fried potatoes were requested. We had several dishes and tasted very good and very busy, which shows how popular the restaurant is.

Delicious and tasty German food in the peace and beauty of a park. The food is excellent, but the location takes this restaurant to a whole new level. Ideal for a family outing and a relaxing day in the park - or for a romantic date enjoying the sunset by candlelight. 100% recommended – the Viennese veal schnitzel is simply delicious!
