Great location, delicious drinks, and a starter – unfortunately, the rest left a lot to be desired. The service didn't live up to expectations: the cutlery wasn't polished, and the table setting lacked care. The truffle pasta consisted almost entirely of butter and truffles – unfortunately, it wasn't homemade, which is disappointing at this price point. The food didn't arrive for about 45 minutes, and only after asking twice. Paying was also chaotic: the neighboring table accidentally added our items to the bill. Overall, the staff seemed overwhelmed. Conclusion: Beautiful facade, but unfortunately lacking substance – for me, this was my last visit.

Lobster spaghetti was quite good and it exercised expectations, the rest were good decent food, would recommend. I forgot my jacket here on one of the dinners I had, next day I came back and they still kept it for me! Staff are actually very sweet despite their intimidating appearance hahah

I was standing at the Opera House, saw this well-located restaurant, read the website, and immediately reserved a table for that evening. To put it bluntly: It was fabulous because everything was just right. From my table, I could see the Opera House, the service was highly professional and relaxed, as well as extraordinarily charming, and the menu offered dishes that deserve a mention. The perfectly chilled rosé champagne was served with crispy bread and a type of large olive that I had never tasted in this quality before. The starter was a Trio di mare, a successful combination of three dishes: tuna tartare, avocado with crayfish, and calamari. Very attractively presented. The main course was a Loup de mer with asparagus, and the dessert was a very fluffy pistachio soufflé with the freshest "garnishes." Wonderful. Over time, I had the feeling I was the only guest; this was well conveyed to me here. There are two minor drawbacks: The soufflé should have been served with a spoon and fork from the start, and I felt the tuna tartare lacked a bit of flair. This is nitpicking at the highest level! The value for money is absolutely reasonable, and the location is outstanding. I'll definitely be back, but it's not exactly possible from Cologne.

Today I had the pleasure of discovering this restaurant. It's located right next to the Old Opera House, and you have a direct view of the beautiful large fountain and the entire square in front of the Opera House. We had very nice weather, so the restaurant was extremely busy. It was also prime time—around 6:30 p.m. There were three waiters on duty. Too few in my opinion. We had to wait forever for the opportunity to reorder. However, since we ourselves had to wait for a latecomer, that was certainly partly due to that. In the end, everything was great... I had Wiener Schnitzel with asparagus, potatoes, and hollandaise sauce... Extremely delicious. Highly recommended. However, they have very high prices (€44.50 for my dish). They could have done with one more waiter... But whatever. Perhaps it was also unavoidable due to staffing shortages... But in terms of taste, it's an A+! Hence the 5 stars.

Great location on the Opera Square. Prices in the upper range were to be expected. 0.2 liters Cola for 5€!!!, a latte macchiato for 8€!!!. But... The service is subpar. After attending a concert in the old opera, we sat down at a free table. A young waitress asked us if we had already received drink tickets and then brought us some. We were informed that we were only allowed to sit at this table if we had been seated there. But we could happily sit at the identical table next door one meter away. By the way, guests came after us and they were allowed to sit there independently without any problems. Nobody said anything about it. We ordered and after waiting for a while the drinks we wanted arrived. The waiter was so eager to grab a small piece of paper on his tablet while serving that he spilled a glass of wine down my shirt and pants. He mumbled a quick apology and blamed the barman for putting the note on the tablet so stupidly. He quickly changed the tablecloth, he didn't care about my clothes. As he was about to leave, I asked him if I could at least get a towel for my wet clothes. He then brought me a waterproofed tablecloth that didn't absorb any liquid. So in the end I only gave him a very small tip, which seemed to surprise him. Instead of accommodating the guest for such a mistake on the bill, as other restaurants do, the full amount was charged. We will neither recommend this restaurant nor come back. Service at a minimum, simply underground!

I liked the place because it is in front of the opera and it is very cozy and beautiful. The food is fine, it's Italian, nothing out of this world but it's pretty good. It's not cheap but it's Frankfurt and you're very central in a very nice place. What I would highlight the most is the service, the waiters are Italian and charming, the best service in all of Frankfurt.

The Amoroso is a nice and good restaurant. Here you will be well pampered by the service. We ate a very tasty salt-crusted sea bass. I can recommend this to everyone. A big thank you goes to Angelo, who found us a place even when it was busy and we had a lovely evening. He is very friendly, competent and a great wine connoisseur. We'd love to come back.

Very nicely located on Frankfurt's Opera Square. The nice, older gentlemen simply know how to serve you. You feel in good hands there. Of course it's not that cheap - but it's doable. Especially since the food is really tasty and the portions are generous.

Unfortunately negative developments since Gianluca Amoroso is no longer at the helm. * On our last visit, the dishes were all overly salty, small (smaller) portions and prices that were too high even by Frankfurt standards. * Complaints about the food were simply not taken seriously, (head) waiter instead “friendly” grabbed my face (an absolute no-go...). * Unfortunately, the wine selection is no longer appealing. There are now simply not enough drinkable red wine vintages on the menu (which doesn't seem to bother the Miraval audience...). * Seating very tight, some "cat tables" to fill the place up. * The billing was incorrect as a “gran finale”. It's a shame, of course, given the great location on Opernplatz (there's another star for that and one for the reasonably attentive service), but it was somehow a foreseeable development. It used to be fun, but you definitely don't have to go there (anymore).

The restaurant is comfortably furnished and exudes typical Italian charm. It feels like you're briefly traveling to Italy. The dishes were absolutely authentic and tasted excellent. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes were prepared with great attention to detail. The only small point of criticism is the prices, which are on the higher side for an Italian restaurant. Even if the quality of the food and the service justify this, a slightly more moderate price level would be desirable. It's a special place for a nice evening - despite the slightly high prices. We had reserved a table (10:00 p.m.) but arrived a little late at 10:10 p.m. Despite the delay, we were assigned a table, which we initially appreciated. However, after handing us the menu, the waiter informed us that the kitchen was already closed. This information was neither given to us in advance nor on the phone, which led to considerable disappointment. We also saw and were forced to eat in your restaurant because at that time and on NEW YEAR'S EVE we had no other option to go anywhere else. The waiter also seemed very annoyed and unfriendly, which further worsened the situation. We were only given two dishes to choose from: fish or meat. This limited selection was very disappointing, especially as the portions were extremely small and seemed more suitable for a child. Given the high prices, this was completely unreasonable and not at all satisfactory. Because of this negative experience, I will not visit your restaurant in the future and cannot recommend it. I hope you take this feedback seriously and take appropriate action to improve the quality of your service.

I won't spend a second New Year's Eve here with my girlfriend. If you want to spend €160 per person on a meal and sit outside in the cold despite having a reservation, this is the right place for you. Despite a reservation, we had to consider ourselves lucky to get a table there, even though the tables next to us were constantly empty. There were even some people who immediately got up again after a short time because they realized that it wasn't worth a cent. 370€ for nothing!

Yes, I admit, I was worried that it might be a tourist trap right next to old Grandpa. Far from it, prices are quite ambitious, but worth every cent. If you want to spend 14.50 for a 0.2 wine or 7€ for a simple tea, this is the place for you. The location right on Opernplatz is good, that may be the only reason.

You pay €9.5 for a “Gerolsteiner” water that actually comes from the tap. They bring open bottles of tap water in a Gerolsteiner bottle and you still have to pay €9.50. It looks the same with sparkling water!

El peor servicio que he tenido en ningún país. Tardaron unos 10 minutos en tenernos sentados, esperamos otros 15 - 20 minutos para tomar nuestro pedido (tónico, agua, y un café) , un buen rato más para traerlos. Pasamos un total de 1. 5 horas para lo que se suponía que era solo un pequeño trago entre amigos. Finalmente, después de numerosas peticiones, llegó un billete de 21 euros (! ) y -¿adivina qué?- la máquina de tarjetas de crédito no funcionó. Finalmente pagamos en efectivo y captamos una mirada decepcionada de uno de los camareros ya que (obviamente! ) no dejamos propinas. Lo único que nos dijimos cuando finalmente salimos de este lugar - qué suerte que no pedimos ninguna comida (que pensamos hacer en cierto momento) , de lo contrario habríamos estado sentados allí hasta la medianoche. Por supuesto, si un restaurante está en el centro de la ciudad y ofrece una vista a la ópera y los paisajes aéreos, nunca les faltarán clientes, pero sinceramente espero y deseo que usted, que está leyendo esta crítica, se lo piense dos veces y opte por otro lugar.

A nice little restaurant right on Opernplatz with a view of the opera. Especially in summer with rolling outdoor seating with a view of the Alte Oper. But even in winter it is very cozy inside in an upscale atmosphere. The service is extremely attentive and with genuine, warm friendliness. It's like a little trip to Italy. The beef fillet was good but standard. The pasta with black truffle (Tartufo Nero) was outstanding, truly a poem.

Absolutely nothing special about the food. I could have cooked the pasta much better at home, with better seasoning. It took over one hour to prepare this dish. No one really cared. We came 1,5 hours prior to a concert at the Alte Oper and were almost late to the event. We had to pour everything down our throats and had absolutely no time to enjoy anyhting because it was so late. One table that came after us and ordered after us even left having eaten before we were even served our food. I don't recommend this establishment at all.

Our lunch at AMOROSO at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. We sat outside on the sunny terrace which provided a perfect setting for a relaxed yet luxurious lunch. We started with fresh oysters as a starter, which were simply great. They were served with the necessary care, had the perfect freshness and a delicate taste of the sea that immediately put us in the holiday mood. We also enjoyed a perfectly chilled bottle of Ruinart Rosé, which complemented the oysters perfectly with its delicate fruitiness. The champagne was perfect for this moment - sparkling, fresh and just the right choice for the warm, sunny midday. For the main course we chose the spaghetti with truffles and the spaghetti alle vongole. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the combination of flavors was to die for. The earthy notes of the truffles harmonized perfectly with the freshness of the seafood, and the whole thing was so lovingly prepared that it was almost a shame to touch it. The service at AMOROSO was equally excellent. Attentive, professional and with a smile, the team made us feel completely comfortable without ever being intrusive. Every little thing was thought through, from the champagne to the perfect timing of the dishes. This lunch was a moment of pure enjoyment – ​​fresh oysters, delicious pasta, cool Ruinart Rosé and the warming sun.

The service was an absolute disaster. The waiters seemed completely overwhelmed, barely paid any attention to us and were anything but friendly. We asked several times where our food was, but no one could give us a clear answer. We ended up leaving without eating because the wait was simply unbearable. One thing is certain for us: we will definitely not go here again! In addition, the prices are absolutely overpriced and disproportionate!!!

The Amoroso restaurant has been an institution on Opernplatz for years, i.e. in the best location in Frankfurt. But it's not just the atmosphere of the location that keeps us coming back to this first-class Italian restaurant. The food and wine selection is first-class and many of my international guests are always more than impressed when I invite them there. Not to forget the service that meets these high standards. I would single out the waiter Angelo, who makes every visit seem like a reunion with friends. Amoroso? It's a pleasure.

The Opernplatz is an expensive place and the Amoroso is its flagship. The ambience is good, but there are many places with far better views and locations. Let's get to the point: For this price range, the quality of the food is just as out of the question as the drink prices are exorbitant. The interesting location and the generally good service don't help either. But the audience, who are not very demanding in terms of cuisine, like it and the restaurant is well staffed. If you don't have any special demands on the kitchen and don't have a problem walking out with a three-figure bill, you can have a nice evening. And it is precisely with this attitude that you should look at and enjoy the Amoroso; it is definitely not an option for gourmets and people with a reasonable sense of price.

My visit to Amoroso was simply perfect. The stylish, cozy atmosphere and the fantastic view of the opera made the evening something special. The service was first class - attentive, friendly and with a passion for Italian cuisine. The food was excellent: fresh ingredients, expertly prepared dishes and a tiramisu that rounded off the evening perfectly. An all-round successful experience that I can only recommend to every lover of Italian cuisine. I'll definitely be back!

We eat at Amoroso regularly and it's always fantastic! The Amoroso team is super friendly and always makes us want to come back. I recommend the pasta arrabiata, especially as a starter. The salt-crusted fish is always excellent, as is the tartare duo. Amoroso also has by far the best view of the Alte Oper compared to the neighboring restaurants. Absolutely recommended!

Unfortunately, the high-priced restaurant on Opernplatz was disappointing. Both the service and the food were third-rate and too expensive. Ordered drinks were not brought, supposedly warm bread was just hard and stale. Sorry, but that's not how you inspire your customers, it's a shame😠

6 of us ate there today. The service was an absolute disaster. The cutlery was literally thrown at my father-in-law. We were served by 5 different waiters in the 2 hours we were there. Nobody really felt responsible. Main courses arrived very late. Starters were delicious. The Jaupthang was also ok, but absolutely no value for money. The creme brulee was a touch of nothing. Was maybe 1.5 tablespoons total. As decoration there was brown old mint and a whole strawberry that was still frozen and looked disgusting. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. The location is nice, but unfortunately it has nothing else to offer.

Actually nicely located at the old opera, but service was very bad. Not served at the beginning, then drinks & Received the starter - it was ok - forgot the next drinks and didn't manage to get the main course in 1.5 hours, not very friendly.

Unfortunately, price-performance doesn't match here at all. The food is completely overpriced and, at the prices quoted, is of inferior quality. In addition, the portions are extremely small. The bread that you get at every table in advance with a dip and olives causes bloody gums and the dip tastes like nothing. The fish for over €40 is also well prepared but unfortunately tasteless. The vegetables were extremely few and cooked through. The service is annoyed, stressed and does not give the customer a feeling of well-being. Finally, a criticism that is certainly a matter of taste, but the audience didn't like it at all. The motto here is: “see and be seen”. Not our taste. As if that weren't enough, constant harassment from homeless people who ask for money at the tables is also included.

We asked this evening if we could get a table. The first waiter said we should wait 2 minutes. After 25 minutes of waiting, another waiter came and took two people who came 20 minutes after us. When asked that we were waiting longer, the waiter became loud and explained passionately that he didn't know who was there first. We didn't react at first and waited another 5 minutes. After a total of 30 minutes of waiting, we were shown a table. After we sat down, 5 minutes later the first waiter came to the table and asked who gave us this seat. We replied that it was the colleague with the long hair. He then said: "Then tell him to serve you, I already have enough tables here." We waited another 5 minutes without being given a menu. After a total wait of 45 minutes, we moved on hungry. At Alfios next door we were treated with respect and hospitality. Waiters like those at Amoroso should never be employed anywhere, especially not in such a beautiful location.

Unfortunately, a lot has changed. The Amoroso has more and more the flair of the Fressgass. Service absolutely snooty and arrogant and then bad and rude. Toilets are in a miserable condition on Friday evenings. Paper towels and toilet paper cannot be found. Information to this effect will be ignored. Food is delicious, but incredibly expensive. The special charm of the location has been lost.
