Very authentic and good Japanese restaurant! We tried a variety of dishes on the menu and were very satisfied with all of them. The service was also very friendly. We'd love to come back!

The taste is quite delicious! It can be called traditional Japanese cuisine. Although the price is a little high, the quality is reasonable so it's not really a problem. It's relatively empty on weekday evenings, but it's best to make a reservation.

Food was really great. Unfortunately, our waitress couldn't speak English or really German, so communication was a bit difficult. But the food really made it. Really good all around! Even though it was expensive at times, it was an experience. Therefore I can recommend it!

I'm on the verge of only seeing Düsseldorf as a second choice for authentic Japanese gastronomic experiences. So far, all Japanese restaurants in Frankfurt have been completely convincing. Here at kushiya, the kushikatsu skewers with the typical sauce took me straight to Osaka. But I can only describe the potato salad as perfect. Plus Japanese music and kirin on tap. The only drawback: Karaage wasn't a hit in my opinion. I would like to be more close to the “original”.

It is a very small but charming place, the tables very close together. The service is good, but the food is very tasty and well priced. Don't expect the typical sushi bar, it is another type of Japanese food, with many options. The portions are small, so you can try more variety! It has been a pleasure to discover this site

This is an amazing Izakaya restaurant in Frankfurt. I just regret not having discovered it previouly as it turned to be on my list of favourites in Frankfurt. If you are looking for an amazing experience of Japanese tapas, this is the place to go to. And if you couldn't imagine the dishes by reading the menu, they have walls in the restaurant full of paints of each one of the tapas. The service is incredibly good. Loved it.

Incredibly delicious. As a starter we had gyoza and a Japanese omelet that melted in your mouth like butter. Main course: Wagyu on salad and in a rice bowl with onions and a soft egg. Everything was very fresh and perfectly prepared. Plus freshly tapped, cool Kirin beer. It was really heavenly good and very authentic. Reservations are always made for 2 hours.

First of all: Don't come here, otherwise I won't be able to find a place soon! All jokes aside, apart from the price (which is high, but in my opinion fair for the quality), this really is the best Japanese insider tip in town. Excellent food, the tip here is to come as a couple and simply order small dishes to share. Overall a very good experience and worth recommending!

The restaurant is small, but the food is great. I think this is the best Japanese food you can get in Frankfurt. In a good sense, it doesn't feel like high-end Japanese food that you can eat in Japan, but more like delicious food served at a proper izakaya. The inside of the restaurant is filled with hand-written menus with pictures, Japanese melodies are playing in the background, and there are many Japanese customers, making it feel like you're in Japan.

Just wow! My family and I were so so happy with the food we were served - you can tell so much love is put into each dish! My mom who is Japanese is rarely impressed when eating out at Japanese restaurants - but she could not stop singing her praises on our way home. One of the waitresses is also so incredibly kind and full of smiles :) Could not recommend this place more, one of the best and most authentic Japanese restaurants in Frankfurt for sure! :) ありがとうございます♪

Delicious authentic Japanese cuisine, cute little restaurant and friendly service. Definitely make a reservation! When we were there, every seat was taken. The owner also owns the Konamon restaurant, if you can't get enough of Japanese cuisine!

Such a cute little Japanese restaurant. All dishes servings are quite small, but at the end we got full. Skewers are very nice, but definitely you won’t feel full after only eating them. I personally like the fried squid the most, very crispy outside and chewy inside. Grilled fish was so tasty as well, but it’s tricky to disassemble meat and bones 😂(not for the first date!) Also, I love Japanese beer, and they have Kirin beer and I loved it!

日本の居酒屋みたいでとてもよかった。 お味噌汁、キムチもやしナムル、よだれどり、チキンカツカレー、シメの鳥麺を頼みました。 どれも美味しかったけど、特によだれどりとしめのスープが美味しかったです。

Ich glaub authentischer geht's kaum. Die Gerichte stehen zwar auch auf deutsch auf der Karte, aber es lohnt sich immer mal nachzufragen, was es genau ist! Sehr freundliches Personal, was aber kaum deutsch spricht. Sehr kleine Lokalität! Früh da sein, oder reservieren!

フランクフルトで数少ない、「日本にあったとしても絶対に通う」と思える味のお店です。量は多くないですが、何を食べても本当に美味しいです。薬味や付け合わせにもいつも感心するようなセンスが光っています。 店員が愛想ないと書いている人がいますが、確かに日本の居酒屋バイト店員みたいなテンションは無いかも。でもそういうお店じゃないと思うし、むしろお客さんをよく見てて色々気づいてくれるので、私は好印象を持ちましたよ。

A small but popular restaurant with a variety of choices for side dishes. The portion is small compared to the price. However this is so far the only Japanese restaurant i found that constantly offers oyako don as well as Japanese curry rice, and most of all, they taste really great. Reservation strongly recommended.

Das Essen war gut, leider war der Service schlecht. Lokal klein aber nicht störend für uns. Wurden beim hereinkommen erstmal ignoriert, obwohl nur ein Gast im Lokal war. Nach Ausgabe der Speisekarte wurde die Bestellung nach ca 25 min aufgenommen. Ungewöhnlich lange, wenn nur ein anderer Tisch mit Gästen belegt war. Generell wirkte der Service unmotiviert, was sich in Aufmerksamkeit und Freundlichkeit gegenüber dem Gast bemerkbar machte. Schade!

Was für ein Juwel sich in diesem kleinen Restaurant verbirgt - definitiv ein authentisches Stück Japan in Frankfurt. Nahezu alle Gerichte waren ausgezeichnet abgeschmeckt und abgestimmt, es war ein absoluter Genuss. Vor allem die Tapas sind sehr zu empfehlen. Vom traditionell japanischen Kartoffelsalat bis zu den knackig-zarten Yams-Wurzeln, der Ponzusauce und der Reisschüssel mit Fisch, inklusive so köstlichem frischen Wasabi, wie ich es selten bekomme habe, war es ein durchgängig außergewöhnliches Geschmackserlebnis. Die Küche hier weiß auf jeden Fall, was sie tut - bleibt so, wie ihr seid!

Part of me doesn’t want to share this review because I hope it doesn’t get more popular. We came here for dinner on Saturday and had a great meal and night. We did make reservations and would highly recommend everyone do the same, only about nine tables total in the place. We enjoyed looking at all the pictures on the wall of the food and that helped us see what other tables had ordered and we even started a list of what to order next time. My husband came here for the wagyu beef and got the 150g order and said it was delicious. I got the sukiyaki udon and it was also amazing. We ordered quite a few small plates because I was curious as well: gyoza (almost perfect), arabiki uinna (I liked these but admittedly pricey for serving size), dashimaki or Japanese omelette (so fluffy) and then for dessert we got the sweet potato ice cream which hit the spot. Cannot wait to come back and try more off their menu! This was one of the better restaurants we’ve had in Frankfurt and we’ve now been to quite a few. Just as a heads up, the reservations for the table are typically for two hours if that helps with planning your night!

Ich war für eine Veranstaltung in Frankfurt und wollte einfach nur eines der vielen japansiches Restaurants ausprobieren, die es Frankfurt gibt. Ich wusste nicht, dass ich meinen neue Nummer 1 finde. Das Restaurant liegt unauffällig in einer Nebenstraße der Leipziger Straße in der Innenstadt II. Bereits draußen bekam ich ein Izakaya-Vibe. Und drinnen war ich dann zurück in Tokyo: klein, einfach eingerichtet, ein Counter, japanisches Personal und eine japanische Speisekarte. Ich musste mich wirklich daran erinnern, dass ich noch in Frankfurt bin. Die Speisekarte war eine Offenbarung. Ich fand sofort den Kaku-Highball (Whisky-Soda). Und dann habe ich mich durch die Speisekarte gearbeitet: Asari, Momo (Yakitori, Hähnchen), Tsukune (Hähnchenfleischbällchen), Wagyukushi (Wagyurind), Gyutan (Rinderzunge), Unagi (Ael), Sori, Yakiniku. Ja, das sind viele Gerichte. Jedes einzelne hat eine Tapas-Größe, sodass man viel probieren kann. Einziger Nachteil: Man kann die Rechnung damit relativ einfach durch die Decke treiben. Aber ich konnte nicht anders. Es war so lecker. Gekrönt habe ich das Ganze mit einem Glas Nigori-Sake. Den finde ich einfach zu selten auf der Gertränkekarte. Apropos: Die habe wirklich eine kleine Auswahl an verschiedenen Sake, die mal alle kalt genießen kann. Selten, dass ich sofort nach einem Restaurantbesuch überlege, wie ich einen Grund finde, nach Frankfurt zu fahren. Dann mit Hotel.

A faire absolument! Dans un cadre simple mais authentiquement japonais (jusque dans la dimension du restaurant ;-) ) une cuisine "Type" Tapas, c'est à dire on peut commander des petites quantités et partager et goûter à toutes sortes de spécialités japonaises qu'on ne trouve pas nécessairement en Europe! Délicieux, surprenant, un régal :-) Service top!
