Super delicious food and a great team. If you are near there you should go. The partitions are large and it tastes just good. From the inside and outside it doesn't make the best impression...but that's deceptive. It's great there

Half a chicken is mandatory here ;). Plus a fresh Augustiner beer. Perfect!🍻 The fries are awesome. Update 2024: you have to try the new non-alcoholic Augustiner. The service is also friendly and very fast.

Best pork hock we ever had and we have tried other two while in Munich - Rathskeller and Hofbrauhaus. Prices are very reasonable. No menu in English but we were able to get what we want! Delish!

Top Bavarian restaurant with traditional cuisine and great, friendly staff

The staff is very nice and I recommend the 1/2 hendel.

One of the few places open on January 1st! Despite the crowds, the service was quick. Traditional Bavarian dishes, plentiful and reasonably priced. The gentleman who served us, although he did not speak Italian, was always patient and helpful. Super recommended

Impossible behavior towards guests. We have a telephone call at 6:00 p.m asked for a table for two people at 7:30 p.m. and the host said we were welcome to come over and that there was plenty free. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. and were seated at one of the last tables of four. While we were looking at the dishes on the menu, the waiter told us that he wanted to move us to another table with other guests, which we declined because the two of us wanted to share the meal and the evening and had called in advance for exactly that reason. Even when we repeated this again, the waiter just laughed, saying it was his boss's instructions and otherwise we would have to leave the restaurant. That's what we did, anyone who treats guests like that should urgently reconsider their "vocation". Such behavior towards guests is impossible.

Overpriced and that good taste or quality. The restrooms are dirty and the tables could get cleaner. Wouldn’t suggest it

Excellent place to eat in an authentic German way, very good prices and exceptional dishes, excellent meat dishes and German beers, I fell in love with it. Very kind and knowledgeable staff, I highly recommend this magnificent place

I rarely give 3x five stars. But it works here. Quaint Munich pub that looks like it did 50 years ago from the outside, but shines with modern tradition from the inside. Very child-friendly and with a service that doesn't get disturbed by anything, but is still quick and calm. And the chicken at a reasonable price was also great. You have to look for something comparable in Munich.

If you were to give the stars for rudeness, it would probably be 5 stars. I'm a caterer myself and I know stressful evenings, but I've never experienced anything like this in terms of unfriendliness!

A gem, famous for its crispy chicken, located in one of the last remaining ground-floor temporary buildings from the post-war period. Augustiner is served. Don't expect haute cousine! But there is honest, home-style cooking. The service is sometimes a bit slow, but still very pleasant and nice! I wouldn't go during the Oktoberfest, in the summer you can sit on the roof and the windows are opened then. In winter you have a nice view of the busy intersection from the area facing the street, but there is a bit of a draft. The restaurant has been part of the Vroni Fischer empire for some time now.

Fast service and authentic food! You can get a table even without a reservation (with a waiting time). The place to be in Munich.

Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle wasn't that good, relatively creamy and less cheesy. The espresso was very thin and without crema. When we asked, we were told that this is correct and that it has to be that way...

The Goggle was ok, but... felt a bit smaller than in previous years... The price is rather expensive... But in Munich you have to look...

Tradition and coziness, the best beer in the city, the best chicken (grantene chicken) and they also have an out-of-house sale. In my many visits, I haven't seen a waiter or waitress who wasn't very nice. Really great natural economy!

I can't comment on the food as we only had something to drink there. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is rustic and very cozy, inviting you to stay longer.

Stopped in real quick for a liter and a bite, totally satisfied by my German food craving, we had the schnitzel the chicken and the pork knuckle,washed, down with several liters of beer, so delicious so satisfying and so German!!! Great service , good food, will definitely swing by again!!!

I've wanted to go to the Lindwurmstüberl for a long time and now we were there for dinner. Very friendly staff and the food was very good. The chicken is perfect and the beer is nice and cold. 🙂 Take a look, highly recommended.

Nice roof terrace where you can sit down during your lunch break. The dishes are good and the portions are sufficient. Relatively large selection of vegetarian dishes for a Bavarian restaurant. Cheese spaetzle and dumplings are definitely recommended. All in all a good, easily accessible Bavarian restaurant, like most Augustinian inns.

Expensive, food mediocre, more like snack food for me. Mass processing. Service sweaty, exhausted, food only came after almost an hour. Not a nice experience.

Delicious Bavarian cuisine, super nice and relaxed service that makes everything possible. Freshly tapped Augustiner was delicious. Went there with 20 people and got tables at short notice, even though it was almost fully booked. Any time.

After an hour and a half we still had no food. When we gave up in frustration and wanted to pay for our drinks, we weren't allowed to pay because she first had to ask the kitchen whether she could cancel. After 10 minutes we had to queue at the cash register because the waitress was unable to collect the drinks. We were also allowed to get a ride.

A classic Augustiner, a tavern as you are used to: simply furnished, with dark wood paneling and cozy. Without a lot of frills. The special thing about Lindwurmstüberl is the roast chicken in the shop window with street sales. The service is very friendly and quick, the food isn't expensive at all and the beer doesn't need to be described - in the city Augustiner is the standard. Really typical Munich!

Great for a spontaneous lunch! I've been here 5-6 times this year alone and every time it's extremely tasty. The portions are generous and the meat dishes in particular are very tasty. A little noisy outside, just right inside at cold times. My favorites: Venison goulash with spaetzle and the Swabian plate

There is nothing to complain about with this meal. Rosin, Rach and the like wouldn't make these game dishes any better. The "normal" cuisine is also very good. But the game dishes every year are a dream.

Top shop had onion roast beef and Wiener schnitzel that were super tasty. Large portions, friendly service and of course, as befits a Bavarian restaurant, a tasty and hearty Hoibe August. We'll be back very soon! 😋

This place was Incredible, it’s exactly as you would think a small village restaurant would be, cozy booths with absolutely delicious “home cooking” portions were large and delicious!! This is a must stop place!!

Went to the Lindwurmstüberl for the first time today and were completely thrilled. Best chicken (crispy, juicy...), nice, quick service, authentic atmosphere. We'll definitely be back

Restaurant located very close to the Oktoberfest. The girl who served us was very attentive helping us choose the dishes. Even though it was full, the atmosphere was quite quiet. You can try typical Munich dishes.

What happened to this great parlor...? No more noble stuff on tap..., mediocre food and the previously good conditions in the minority... such a shame! Prices have now exploded and the price-performance ratio is underground. Nothing is left of this once so lovable and friendly parlor. Too bad!

Despite a table reservation, you were seated at a communal table. This doesn't actually work at a table.

An easy accessible restaurant (close to the Oktoberfest area) with a very good cuisine. The grilled chicken is very tasty, with a bit salty crust to my taste (so I just removed it). I'd recommend the potato salad as a garnishing - it's homemade and really delicious! The menu offers some vegetarian dishes as well. The Augustiner beer is excellent! To our suprise, the non-alcohol version of this beer is also remarkably good! The staff is polite and easy going, the terrace is a nice place to sit in a good weather. The interior is just ok. The big disadvantage - only cash during Oktoberfest. I don't understand this kind of policy, so I'd reconsider the pros and cons next time. What saves the restaurant during this period is its location.

The decor is a bit old-fashioned, but the food is just really good. It's also nice to take a knuckle (or chicken) with you from the grill room

Tourists be warned! Arrived during Oktoberfest eager to support local business and sample real German cuisine. We get here and are seated quickly. Then we see the "CASH ONLY" sign on the first page of the menu. And it's not just "cash only" - it's cash only specifically during Oktoberfest. Quite frankly, it's embarrassing and disgraceful that this place is so greedy they refuse to pay card fees (and more probably taxes, because tourists aren't going to ask for a full VAT receipt) during the busiest season of the year. We left our table and found another Bavarian restaurant that operates in the 21st century and accepts card.

Perfect all around. I had never had a pork knuckle before and was not disappointed. Tender and tasty with a strong dark beer sauce. The red cabbage (we call it red cabbage, hehe) was like a Christmas poem. The apple strudel with vanilla sauce at the end... what can I say. All dishes were clearly cooked with a lot of love. In addition, the attentive and extremely friendly service, who gave me perfect advice and, despite the large crowds, showed genuine interest in ensuring that the guests felt comfortable and enjoyed the food. Big compliments to this fantastic restaurant!

Every year at the Munich Oktoberfest we come to the Lindwurmstüberl and eat a delicious grilled chicken. This is a mandatory program and always good. When the weather is nice, you can sit on the roof terrace 😀

Original German restaurant with a great menu. Food is served in good time and tastes good. I highly recommend one of the traditional German dishes. They only take cash at Oktoberfest which is greedy and a money grab in order to pray on the influx of tourists.

Very VERY tasty chicken! Crispy skin, juicy meat and super seasoned. Potato salad tastes like it was fresh and home-made and is “al dente”. Fast, robust service, great view of the hustle and bustle on the street. Prices are not cheap, but ok for Munich.

Home-style and inexpensive for Munich... Update 2024 - Now outrageously expensive...at Oktoberfest time the menu was always a little more upscale (a tourist rip-off) but for over a year the prices have no longer been in relation to the dishes on offer. All year round Oktoberfest prices for average food - no thanks! We were regular customers but that is now over. Despite the nice waiters and staff, unfortunately no longer recommended!

I didn't know that Oktoberfest was starting tomorrow, so I couldn't get enough of the sausage and beer, so I was trudging home when I found a busy restaurant. The server recommended a beer and it was delicious! Feels like Asahi is a little darker? I ordered 3 dishes and they were all delicious and I was happy. Everyone treated me warmly and I am very satisfied both physically and mentally. thank you very much.

Great party on Carnival Sunday.

Portions quite small. Beer ok, even at acceptable times despite the store being full. Very tight. Bavarian ambience is spoiled by staff, I mean, the barbershop staff in traditional costume doesn't trigger much Bavarian politeness in me, there's more to common Bavaria. But I wasn't in Bavaria, I was in Munich.

There is probably the best grilled chicken in Munich here. Friendly and attentive service. The furnishings are a bit old, but this fits perfectly into the overall appearance. Fair prices.

The two of us were on the terrace today. We sat there for 15 minutes without being served, even though both male service staff acknowledged us. Went back hungry and thirsty. I have never experienced such ignorance in service. Never again.

We have been coming here every year since 2012 during the Oktoberfest weekend. Food always good, hospitable and good location / location near our hotel (Brack). Last weekend we were in Munich with the Adèle concert due to a visit: once again we had a delicious meal.

Yesterday we were on vacation with the girls, the waiter was rude, called us names, almost ruined our holiday! The situation was saved by another waiter who was very very kind. I ask the administration to pay attention!!!

We went here for our first dinner. We found a nice spot up on the roof terrace. Service and food very good. The restaurant is located at an intersection and the noise level is tolerable. Personally, and only me, it bothers me that there are always cigarettes here. This really bothers me a lot, but only the restaurant can make a decision. Otherwise really delicious food. We were there for the last evening too.

Food as always good, location anyway. Our waiter apparently had a bad day, was unmotivated, argued with colleagues and didn't really show any interest in the guest when taking orders. When asked, the answers were mostly clumsy... it's a shame, it works differently in the Lindwurmstüberl.

Good food, but some employees are very unfriendly to the guests. For example, the chef with the bald head. If you want to order something at the take-away counter, he coldly ignores you and doesn't even bother to call a colleague. The Händl and the Leberkäse are very good.

I buy a whole chicken in the late afternoon - because "the Lindwurmstüberl has the best in the city" - the friendly gentleman wishes me a nice evening... we then have a dog for the tender chicken, which has probably been lying there all day and fed to cat. 1-2 € more expensive than the Vinzenzmurr - we know where we will be shopping in the future

We've been going to the Lindwurmstüberl for years The fried chicken with potato salad is unbeatable. Crispy, juicy and delicious. The pork knuckles are also amazing. In summer you can go out on the terrace with a view of Lindwurmstrasse. You can score points with this restaurant when visiting from outside Unfortunately, the prices for fried chicken have risen steeply. €17.90 instead of €13. Unfortunately, visits are becoming less frequent A pity

The fried chicken and the grilled chicken are highly recommended. When the weather is warm, the roof terrace invites you to linger. The winter garden is also recommended because of its coziness. Dishes here range from very good to phenomenal! 👌🏼
