Lindwurmstüberl in München

The soup was far too salty, the chicken schnitzel was clearly overcooked and also very salty. The fries were obviously cooked in old fat and were also very dry. Overall, the meal was barely edible. To make matters worse, the preparation took an unusually long time, so that—despite my haste—I lost a lot of time and ultimately didn't even get to eat the entire meal. In retrospect, that might have been for the better, because unfortunately, it didn't taste good at all. I hope you take this feedback seriously and implement appropriate measures to improve the quality.

Bavarian cuisine near the Theresienwiese.

Visited Lindwurmstüberl several times for lunch. Great location between Goetheplatz and Poccistraße. Restaurant serves typical hearty Bavarian dishes. Although German cuisine is famous for its very savoury taste I often found the food a bit too salty here. But all in all good to get a (first) taste of traditional Bavarian dishes.

Nice environment, decent prices for a tradition German restaurant, and good service. I had the 1/2 Hähnchen with some Augustiner alcohol free helles. It was good! The chicken is nice and juicy.

Great, traditional Bavarian institution with Augustiner on tap. Chicken and roast pork were sensational. You rarely get something this good in normal restaurants.

Great restaurant located not far from Theresienwiese, centrally located at the subway station. The service is very attentive and the prices are really fair. We'd love to come back.

The Hendl from April 30, 2025 at 5:45 p.m. was so dry and the worst I've eaten here so far. Sorry, but something like that shouldn't happen anymore Guest go! Especially not when you pay 16.50 euros for it!

Food and Augustiner beer both top notch. If you want an authentic Munich experience, on a smaller scale than the big beer halls, you can't do better. Staff very friendly too.

One of the best chicken ever... top service! I've been going to this for a long time Lunch there. Every time with soup and almost always simply great! Today the rolled roast was amazing! Totally delicious, good sauce and tasty napkin dumplings...

I get grilled chicken from there for us at least once a week! Price-performance ratio is really top and really recommended. The homemade potato salad is also really good.

Everything was great, crispy pork roll with fluffy potato salad and fine sauce for EUR 11.50, plus a fresh Augustiner on tap, top service, humor and a beautiful roof terrace! Class!

A cozy, rustic and traditional Bavarian inn. The roast pork is definitely recommended with its crispy rind. In my opinion there is a little too much caraway in the coleslaw. But that's a matter of taste. The service staff are super fast and super friendly. Thanks

Unfortunately, the takeaway knuckle wasn't cooked all the way through. The rind was rubbery instead of crispy. It should have been noticed at the time of sale, but it was sold anyway...very annoying when you only notice it at home for 24 euros.

Great pub with lots of character, good food and the best beer. In summer the roof terrace is something very special.

The food was good, but not outstanding. Despite the rather uninviting surroundings, the interior of the Lindwurmstübersl has a rustic tavern atmosphere. However, on Friday evening the kitchen quickly reached its capacity limits and after 20 minutes of waiting in vain for dessert, we had to cancel it again.

Rustic, friendly service and even a vegan currywurscht on the menu! The portions will leave you more than full!!

A cozy restaurant with excellent service! I have visited the Lindwurmstüberl in Munich several times and have always been impressed. The restaurant offers a wonderful, cozy atmosphere and is the perfect place for a relaxed meal. The menu is varied and offers traditional Bavarian cuisine that is always freshly and deliciously prepared. The hearty dishes and homemade delicacies are particularly recommended. The service is friendly and professional and you always feel welcome. I will definitely come back and can only recommend this restaurant!

We were eating with family. Unfortunately I didn't like the knuckle that much, it was ok. The others also thought the food was just ok. Unfortunately I can't recommend it. Service was very friendly.

We often go here to eat or take chicken with us. An hour ago today we each bought 1/2 chicken to take away to throw away at home! They were so dry you couldn't swallow the meat. They must have been on the shelf since early in the morning. Too bad.🤨😮‍💨

We weren't as excited as many others. But maybe we were just unlucky. The chicken was dry and the skin wasn't exactly crispy. I ordered a schnitzel, but what came was more like a thin breaded pork steak. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was also clean. Maybe we were just unlucky

Half a chicken is mandatory here ;). Plus a fresh Augustiner beer. Perfect!🍻 The fries are awesome. Update 2024: you have to try the new non-alcoholic Augustiner. The service is also friendly and very fast.

Best pork hock we ever had and we have tried other two while in Munich - Rathskeller and Hofbrauhaus. Prices are very reasonable. No menu in English but we were able to get what we want! Delish!

Top Bavarian restaurant with traditional cuisine and great, friendly staff

One of the few places open on January 1st! Despite the crowds, the service was quick. Traditional Bavarian dishes, plentiful and reasonably priced. The gentleman who served us, although he did not speak Italian, was always patient and helpful. Super recommended

Impossible behavior towards guests. We have a telephone call at 6:00 p.m asked for a table for two people at 7:30 p.m. and the host said we were welcome to come over and that there was plenty free. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. and were seated at one of the last tables of four. While we were looking at the dishes on the menu, the waiter told us that he wanted to move us to another table with other guests, which we declined because the two of us wanted to share the meal and the evening and had called in advance for exactly that reason. Even when we repeated this again, the waiter just laughed, saying it was his boss's instructions and otherwise we would have to leave the restaurant. That's what we did, anyone who treats guests like that should urgently reconsider their "vocation". Such behavior towards guests is impossible.

I rarely give 3x five stars. But it works here. Quaint Munich pub that looks like it did 50 years ago from the outside, but shines with modern tradition from the inside. Very child-friendly and with a service that doesn't get disturbed by anything, but is still quick and calm. And the chicken at a reasonable price was also great. You have to look for something comparable in Munich.

If you were to give the stars for rudeness, it would probably be 5 stars. I'm a caterer myself and I know stressful evenings, but I've never experienced anything like this in terms of unfriendliness!

A gem, famous for its crispy chicken, located in one of the last remaining ground-floor temporary buildings from the post-war period. Augustiner is served. Don't expect haute cousine! But there is honest, home-style cooking. The service is sometimes a bit slow, but still very pleasant and nice! I wouldn't go during the Oktoberfest, in the summer you can sit on the roof and the windows are opened then. In winter you have a nice view of the busy intersection from the area facing the street, but there is a bit of a draft. The restaurant has been part of the Vroni Fischer empire for some time now.

Fast service and authentic food! You can get a table even without a reservation (with a waiting time). The place to be in Munich.

Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle wasn't that good, relatively creamy and less cheesy. The espresso was very thin and without crema. When we asked, we were told that this is correct and that it has to be that way...

The Goggle was ok, but... felt a bit smaller than in previous years... The price is rather expensive... But in Munich you have to look...

Tradition and coziness, the best beer in the city, the best chicken (grantene chicken) and they also have an out-of-house sale. In my many visits, I haven't seen a waiter or waitress who wasn't very nice. Really great natural economy!

I can't comment on the food as we only had something to drink there. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is rustic and very cozy, inviting you to stay longer.

Stopped in real quick for a liter and a bite, totally satisfied by my German food craving, we had the schnitzel the chicken and the pork knuckle,washed, down with several liters of beer, so delicious so satisfying and so German!!! Great service , good food, will definitely swing by again!!!

I've wanted to go to the Lindwurmstüberl for a long time and now we were there for dinner. Very friendly staff and the food was very good. The chicken is perfect and the beer is nice and cold. 🙂 Take a look, highly recommended.

Nice roof terrace where you can sit down during your lunch break. The dishes are good and the portions are sufficient. Relatively large selection of vegetarian dishes for a Bavarian restaurant. Cheese spaetzle and dumplings are definitely recommended. All in all a good, easily accessible Bavarian restaurant, like most Augustinian inns.

Expensive, food mediocre, more like snack food for me. Mass processing. Service sweaty, exhausted, food only came after almost an hour. Not a nice experience.

After an hour and a half we still had no food. When we gave up in frustration and wanted to pay for our drinks, we weren't allowed to pay because she first had to ask the kitchen whether she could cancel. After 10 minutes we had to queue at the cash register because the waitress was unable to collect the drinks. We were also allowed to get a ride.

A classic Augustiner, a tavern as you are used to: simply furnished, with dark wood paneling and cozy. Without a lot of frills. The special thing about Lindwurmstüberl is the roast chicken in the shop window with street sales. The service is very friendly and quick, the food isn't expensive at all and the beer doesn't need to be described - in the city Augustiner is the standard. Really typical Munich!

Great for a spontaneous lunch! I've been here 5-6 times this year alone and every time it's extremely tasty. The portions are generous and the meat dishes in particular are very tasty. A little noisy outside, just right inside at cold times. My favorites: Venison goulash with spaetzle and the Swabian plate

There is nothing to complain about with this meal. Rosin, Rach and the like wouldn't make these game dishes any better. The "normal" cuisine is also very good. But the game dishes every year are a dream.

Top shop had onion roast beef and Wiener schnitzel that were super tasty. Large portions, friendly service and of course, as befits a Bavarian restaurant, a tasty and hearty Hoibe August. We'll be back very soon! 😋

This place was Incredible, it’s exactly as you would think a small village restaurant would be, cozy booths with absolutely delicious “home cooking” portions were large and delicious!! This is a must stop place!!

Restaurant located very close to the Oktoberfest. The girl who served us was very attentive helping us choose the dishes. Even though it was full, the atmosphere was quite quiet. You can try typical Munich dishes.

What happened to this great parlor...? No more noble stuff on tap..., mediocre food and the previously good conditions in the minority... such a shame! Prices have now exploded and the price-performance ratio is underground. Nothing is left of this once so lovable and friendly parlor. Too bad!
