Despite the crowds, we were seated quickly and our orders were placed. The food was good. The only downside was that they simply seated people at our table without asking. We wouldn't have had a problem with that, but it's not okay to do it without asking.

Delicious food. I had lunch twice with my friends during Oktoberfest. It was busy but good organization and didn't have to wait for table. I would come back. The plates are huge so if yoy are not too hungry, it is shareable.

Bavarian tavern in the heart of Munich, close to Goetheplatz and the Oktoberfest. Variety of traditional Bavarian dishes in a multi-generational tavern atmosphere. Good food with flavor and "reasonable" prices considering the location. Expect to pay €22 for a pint of beer and a homemade meat dish. There are options for vegetarians and fish lovers, as well as a children's menu. A little difficult to find parking, but that's Munich.

First of all: I preferred eating my food to photographing it. And it still looks exactly like other reviewers' photos. 😉 We had half a chicken and a Bavarian steamed dumpling. Both were delicious. The lunch menu is great, with daily changing dishes at a reasonable price. Also worth mentioning is the rooftop terrace, which is partially covered. I enjoyed my visit to the Lindwurmstüberl and will definitely come back if I get the chance.

Hours were not correct. Walked all the way to the restaurant and was closed even though the website and door stated open from 11 to 23 hours.

The chicken is spectacular, simple, well-roasted, dry, with a very good flavor.

The dishes were excellent! All the chicken dishes were especially tasty, and the meat dishes were also very well prepared. For dessert, the chocolate cake and apple roll were delicious—I found the syrup bread a bit dry and didn't quite understand the idea. The coffee, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming. The service, however, was excellent! As soon as we arrived, the entire group was greeted with warmth and smiles. The waiter, Marlon, was extremely attentive, kind, and polite—always checking to see if we needed anything, offering help with selections, and ensuring we always had drinks. Thank you for your hospitality, Marlon.

When at Oktoberfest, the food is always good here.

I had actually reserved a table for two for September 27th, which was confirmed. When I arrived that day, the entrance seemed to be surrounded – we were able to get in, but no table had been reserved for people who might have already made reservations. While the waiters were accommodating and tried to help, it's a shame that you then have to wait in the room until other guests are chased away. It got too much for us, and we unfortunately had to get a bratwurst sandwich at the Oktoberfest instead. I would like to try eating at the establishment again, but I would recommend keeping reserved tables free and not trying to fill the place up as much as possible (for the sake of the Oktoberfest and its guests).

We came here before our Oktoberfest visit and had the lunch menu: potato soup + 1/4 chicken and fries. All for €11.60! The taste was excellent. The meat was super tender and plentiful. Now you're feeling refreshed.

We saw it while passing by and sat down. The restaurant interior is very nice and authentic. The service is fast, and the staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered Schnitzel and fries. The fries were okay, but the Schnitzel wasn't very good.

I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavor and prepared perfectly. I really enjoyed every bite. On top of that, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. A special thanks to Mr. Saed, who was incredibly kind and generous throughout our visit. His hospitality made the experience truly memorable. Totally worth it, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great food and warm service!

Traditional and friendly, warm, good food at fair prices. The roast chicken and potato salad were excellent. The red cabbage with the knuckle was initially forgotten and was basically bland. The knuckles were crispy and almost dry one day, juicy and soft the next. All in all, though, very good and quick.

A typical Munich inn with classic Bavarian delicacies. The rooftop terrace is particularly beautiful, a great location in good weather. The restaurant is located on a busy street, but you hardly notice it inside. Unfortunately, the service was a bit chaotic on the day I visited, probably due to internal disagreements within the team. The food itself was excellent and the value for money was good.

Really good chicken and chips, the service was good to but they were very busy so you could sense a bit of stress. Nether the less great traditional meal could do with a bit less salt but I guess it helps the beer go down.

The grilled chicken is simply a sight to behold. The service was commendable: nice, friendly, attentive, and helpful. Even if they were out of Kaiserschmarrn, it wasn't their fault. The prices are just what you'd expect in Munich. But, as I said, you'll do it for a good beer and an excellent chicken.

We'd been wanting to try the supposedly "best chicken in town" for a long time, and last night we finally did. It was disappointing! Nothing like a Oktoberfest chicken; poorly seasoned and undercooked. The potato salad was too salty, soaked with far too much vinegar, and practically inedible! It definitely wasn't worth €17.50 and a waste of money. The restaurant is very loud, making normal conversation almost impossible. The service couldn't be described as particularly friendly either. The waiter didn't even ask if we enjoyed our meal... Lindwurmstüberl: Once and never again!

The best pork knuckle in Munich and we have tried 4 including the top recommended restos. Staff were so friendly even if language is a challenge. We will go back when we stay at Hotel Gio which I highly recommend too.

My 3-year-old nephew could have done better with the roast pork from the lunch menu. The service was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the management has become somewhat out of step with the times, arrogant and oblivious to the business. The menu is always the same, and the chicken is either raw or fried to death. I'll NEVER be back.

That was the best meal I've had in ages!!! Crispy skin, juicy inside. It doesn't get much better than that!

The roast pork knuckle was dry, the dumplings were burnt. The salad was not fresh, with brown spots. The waitress was very friendly and, as an apology, brought us an "espresso," a kind of brown broth. The restaurant is quaint, a bit dated, but charming. The roof terrace is quite lovely.

We've been guests at the Lindwurmstüberl several times. Especially when the weather's nice, it's fantastic on the spacious roof terrace in a superb central location. Delicious (Augustiner) beer and good food, at a reasonable price for Munich. The service is exceptionally friendly and personable. We're deducting one star because unfortunately, you can't order side dishes individually, so you can't order something like dumplings with sauce or a portion of fries for a light snack, which can be a bit annoying at times. Otherwise, a great place, I always enjoy coming here.

Many well-prepared specialties (the schnitzels, for example, are well-cooked, remain soft, and are plentiful), and the apple struddle is appetizing; we ask for more. It's a shame that the menu is only in German. Fortunately, most of the waiters and waitresses are friendly and speak English.

Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend it, as it's too expensive! The Lindwurmstüberl has always been a staple on every visit to Munich! Unfortunately, prices have more than doubled in the last eight years, so I can no longer recommend a visit here! The quality is certainly good, but not at this price! What a shame, a real shame!

Original Bavarian restaurant directly on the Theresienwiese.

Used to be good food at reasonable prices… unfortunately, the quality has noticeably declined, portions have been reduced, and prices have risen considerably. Service is unmotivated and incompetent. It's a shame that a traditional inn is going down this path…

My son ordered the following: Roast pork with cream sauce and spaetzle (he specifically asked if it was possible, and was told "yes, no problem"), but he got roast pork with dark beer sauce and potato dumplings. When we complained, the staff didn't address the error but simply asked us what we wanted from him. I then explained that the spaetzle with cream sauce was missing and that he should please bring it to us. He then said that it would be expensive because he would have to rebook. I then pointed out that my son had ordered it exactly as he had ordered it and now he's received something different. Even then, the error wasn't addressed... It's a shame, it would have been so easy for us to have had a nice stay and the mistake wouldn't have been so significant, but the service pretty much did everything wrong.

This used to be an institution, but now they only serve delicious Augustiner beer. The food is so-so. The service is fast and good, but sometimes chaotic; sometimes the left and right hands don't know what they're doing. Overall, I fear the management doesn't really know what's going on in their restaurant. Average.

I wanted to have a quiet beer and something to eat on a Friday evening. The black-haired waitress was so loud at the next table that it was impossible to enjoy the meal. I also had to listen to her phone conversation. Apparently, she didn't care that there were customers in the restaurant. I didn't even eat half of it, paid, and left.

Cozy restaurant with very tasty food.

Way too expensive. I wanted to order via Wolt or Uber. Half a chicken was 19 euros. Wiener schnitzel was 28 euros. At our Augustiner around the corner, it was 18 euros. Are they made of gold? It's also a Bavarian pub with old-fashioned decor. Nothing special, but far too expensive.

The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. The dishes I've tried so far have been considered good, home-style fare. I've never had anything to complain about.

Every now and then, usually on Sundays, we visit the lovely Lindwurmstüberl and enjoy ourselves. The team here is great, always friendly, and the food is delicious. A visit to the Lindwurmstüberl in Munich is always a highlight for us. We particularly appreciate the rustic, cozy decor, which immediately makes you feel at home. The food is consistently excellent, and the portions are generous – Bavarian cuisine at its finest! Be sure to try the fried chicken (you won't find it better anywhere) or the pork knuckle. The only criticism is that you now have to order the coleslaw separately, and at an outrageous price. This deducts a point from the meal. The spacious roof terrace is a real plus, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the day. We regularly spend a whole day here because everything is just perfect. An absolute must for lovers of Bavarian hospitality!

The restaurant has become a cult favorite in Munich. I really enjoy getting the lunch menu there. Although it's not uncommon for them to run out by 12:00 PM. The ordering terminal is a good feature.

Great Bavarian food here. Lots of choices and reaaonably priced.

The soup was far too salty, the chicken schnitzel was clearly overcooked and also very salty. The fries were obviously cooked in old fat and were also very dry. Overall, the meal was barely edible. To make matters worse, the preparation took an unusually long time, so that—despite my haste—I lost a lot of time and ultimately didn't even get to eat the entire meal. In retrospect, that might have been for the better, because unfortunately, it didn't taste good at all. I hope you take this feedback seriously and implement appropriate measures to improve the quality.

Nice environment, decent prices for a tradition German restaurant, and good service. I had the 1/2 Hähnchen with some Augustiner alcohol free helles. It was good! The chicken is nice and juicy.

Visited Lindwurmstüberl several times for lunch. Great location between Goetheplatz and Poccistraße. Restaurant serves typical hearty Bavarian dishes. Although German cuisine is famous for its very savoury taste I often found the food a bit too salty here. But all in all good to get a (first) taste of traditional Bavarian dishes.
