We visited the brewery based on a recommendation and didn't regret coming for a second. Quaint restaurant, great service and “real” Munich residents. My impression was that there were a lot of regulars because the waitress greeted many of the guests personally. If you are looking for real Bavarian cuisine, you will find it here. Food is delicious and value for money is ok.

The landlord is super friendly and the food was very tasty. It was super busy, so if you want to have lunch on Sunday, it's best to call and make a reservation a few days in advance. Unfortunately, what wasn't so well received was the service. We were eating schnitzel and when the first helping was ordered, we unfortunately had to wait almost an hour for the food to arrive. Yes, there was a lot going on, but that's just too long. The furnishings are really nice, but your bottom hurts after a short while on the wooden benches, so a few more cushions would be nice. But definitely worth a visit. :)

A super cozy Bavarian brewery. As you would expect. Food, drinks and service are top. In summer you can also enjoy the beer garden. We are here often. But you should make a reservation, especially in the evening. Especially on Schnitzel Sunday. We'll be back. Great pub/brewery. Keep it up!!!

Delicious food, good service and nice atmosphere

Very tasty schnitzels and on Sundays (except public holidays) an outstanding price-performance ratio. Eating a big schnitzel with all you can it schnitzel, just awesome! All this for just €15.55. You don't have to be ashamed to order another one, of course only if you can still manage it. According to the landlord, the rakord is 12 schnitzels, 😂 so it's definitely worth a visit with the very serious brewery atmosphere. Attached is an example picture of the changing schnitzel menu and the beer garden, which is open in summer.

I had the great pleasure of visiting Kleiner Brauhaus Dicker Mann in Munich and it was an absolute delight! The atmosphere is wonderfully cozy and inviting, ideal for an evening with friends or family. The beers are simply top notch—every sip is a revelation. I was particularly impressed by the warm hospitality of the staff, who treat each guest like an old friend. A must for anyone who wants to experience the authentic Bavarian art of brewing. Oktoberfest was really hectic, so I visited a restaurant a bit out of the way. Perhaps because it was a bit early in the evening by European standards, I liked the relaxed and quiet atmosphere and the friendly staff. The Lemonade Beer Radler, which was recommended as a sweet beer, was really delicious, and the Schweinhaxen was also delicious, but the traditional Saxony food with the texture of potato rice cake served on the side was especially fun because it had a new taste. Above all, that cream menu! I was worried because it was a bit expensive, but it was really delicious. Above all, it was great to encounter food in Europe that wasn't salty. The waiter was very kind and friendly, so even if my German wasn't good, there was no problem at all. As the sun went down, they lit candles and even brought sweets like Haribo and cookies to us when we left, so I enjoyed the warm and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended if you want to experience Bavarian food! I don't think the menu prices are that expensive for Europe.

The last time I visited the beer garden with my wife, after ordering two drinks and a main course, I asked for a second plate. Shortly afterwards the waiter came back to the table and explained that he was sorry but that he would have to charge an additional €1.80 for the extra plate. Apparently this business is doing so well economically that they don't want to have guests there who "actually" only order a main course and then charge "only 30 euros". It's better to scare them away that way! I find this business behavior to be almost outrageous, or at least extremely petty. But this is now probably common practice for many of the “perpetually complaining” restaurants in the “service desert” of Munich. I will certainly not visit the restaurant again or even recommend it to others.

The schnitzel day is highly recommended. The schnitzels are freshly prepared and arrive at the table hot. Staff is friendly and quick. We were there without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. But we will make reservations next time we visit.

Very cozy restaurant with extremely friendly and organized staff and landlord. The food is good and reasonably priced. I'll be back and the beer garden is definitely a plus.

The beer is not filled, when I called the waitress, she said: "we always pour it like this" when I asked why not the other way around, why don't they pour above the 0.5l mark on the glass? She called the bearded bartender, who seemed to be boisterous and in a bullish form wanted to prove that he knew better to which mark the beer should be poured, after which he took it away to pour it (or maybe he drank it himself). Very unfriendly place, not recommended!

I received a call while waiting for my order that incorrectly stated that “wrong food” was on its way to me. I was informed very personably and professionally that I could of course keep the second meal and that the actual meal I had ordered would be delivered by him personally as quickly as possible. No sooner said than done... dad finally brought it in less than 20 minutes and the food was really, really tasty. Will order again thanks

New review: The small Dicker Mann brewery has improved significantly since our last visit, the food was significantly better than last time, many long-time residents from the previous tenant have returned, only one waitress struck me negatively because of her dominance, which I simply didn't like at all We wanted to sit down and then she immediately shooed us away to another table, hence a star deduction

Great food and a nice back terrace to have a beer when the day is hot. Our son had lots of fun with people and ate too. Service was OK. But the waitress was too overwhelmed with all the customers.

The ambience is quite nice... But the service is bad - unfriendly, ignorant and somehow passive-aggressive. I just felt uncomfortable... and they don't accept credit cards under 20 euros, which is now a no-go for a restaurant in Munich. A little tip - a well-known beer garden in Ostpark is only an 8-minute walk away and is much nicer and friendlier.

Classic German restaurant, good home cooking. I had the fillet pan (cheese spaetzle and pork fillet) - highly recommended 😋 the bread dumpling is better... We sat outside in the beer garden, which is right next to a busy street. Therefore unfortunately a bit loud. But it looks super cozy inside ☺️👍 All in all, a great visit.

Five of us had dinner before the Adele concert. Everything was delicious. Even the sausage salad with fries (which is probably not typically Bavarian. :) Great staff. Thanks also for the delicious digestive schnapps from the boss. We will be back.

If you have a lot of time, this is a pleasant place with a small beer garden. The price/performance ratio is reasonable, but the waiting times for the food are often too long.

I would like to recommend the beer garden and the associated restaurant without reservation. The lunch menu and the menus offered are simply great, and the prices are very affordable. The service was excellent and the staff extremely friendly. There were three of us there and every dish was excellent.

Typical German restaurant. Good variation of different kitchens but with an emphasis on the Bavarian kitchen. Nice garden to sit in, fast service, huge portions (in typical german style, because no one can leave hungry I guess) and kind and hardworking staff. All this for a decent price

Great restaurant very close to the Michaelibad subway stop (U5). Excellent Bavarian cuisine. The pork knuckle and the onion roast are particularly recommended. But the Filetpfandl is also worth ordering. Price wise, good for what you get. Great atmosphere, both indoors and outdoors. Service is very friendly and all requests are taken into account.
