We were greeted very unfriendly at first. Waitress was quite frustrated and not warm or welcoming. After I had to wait 1:20 hours for the food, I got up and left.

The typical Bavarian food was fantastic (I specifically looked for roast pork - and found it there). And there was a lot of meat on the plate! You can also sit outside, which might have been better that evening because it was very loud inside. But: solid restaurant, definitely recommended.

Service is so terrible that unfortunately the food doesn't matter. Our children were yelled at badly by the manager before we were even properly seated. This is absolutely not possible! Definitely not recommended with children, but probably also without them.

For kids, and picky eaters, it's hard to find anything on the menu. Since it's all in one category. For example: there are 8 options but only with steak. So in principle there are many options, just not much variety of meat. (They don't sell any chicken, just schnitzel) And from what I saw, there is only one option on the kids menu. There isn't ice tea on the menu :( But I guess that's a German thing. I didn't see the staff smile once ! I've seen many reviews on the staff being rude from months ago. Guess they don't take any advice. I know it's warm outside, but at least do try to be nice.

Delicious food, the daily menu. A big fat burger with fries. We were still able to get a table even though we had not made a reservation. The waitress didn't feel like it (partly due to the warm weather?). Nevertheless, smooth and fast service

The Liebighof is an absolute must for me every time I stay in Munich! The ambience is cozy and inviting, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. I'm always particularly impressed by the kitchen - the food is simply first-class! Whether traditional Bavarian dishes or creative dishes, everything is excellently prepared and tastes fantastic. For me, the Liebighof is a real insider tip and absolutely recommended for anyone visiting Munich!

Service worked but was completely unfriendly and stressful. I can completely understand that you have bad days in the catering industry and that there is a lot of stress involved, but what we experienced here absolutely didn't work. The waitress was constantly at loggerheads with the chefs throughout the evening. There was loud shouting throughout the food distribution and sometimes insults were also thrown in. Once the lady went into the back of the kitchen and you could see the middle finger being pulled out through the window. Everything before our eyes. At the table next to us, a child was reprimanded with a loud “naaaaaaa!” for playing around with the sugar dispenser. But it was so loud that everyone in the store actually looked at it. We had to wait a long time for our food. Unfortunately, the taste was not convincing either. The love during preparation may have been lost due to the arguments between the waitress and the kitchen staff. So I don't remember the food. But the service and the way people treated each other did. I will definitely never eat here with my parents again. We were happy when we were able to leave the “local”.

The restaurant is decorated really nicely and and the atmosphere is great, but the restaurant is poorly managed since there are only two waitresses there couldn’t handle the amount of people, they were rude and inpatient. The food took 40 minutes to arrive.

Very classic Bavarian tavern. The atmosphere is great, there is a lot of wood and gives a great vibe. The employees are very nice and always serve with a smile and are also happy to joke. Since it is such a classic restaurant there are hardly any vegetarian options and actually no vegan options, which makes it very difficult for me to find something there. But otherwise it is a top restaurant, highly recommended!

For us, a visit to eat there is a “must” when we are guests in Munich. Very comfortably furnished restaurant away from the hustle and bustle, the landlady is always friendly and service-oriented and tries to fulfill your every wish. The price-performance ratio is still right here and the food can absolutely be recommended.

The schnitzel is alright. Nothing special. Drinks are terrible. Service is HORRIBLE. I kindly asked the old lady waitress if I could sit outside and she said no. I told her there were at least 5 empty tables and she just yelled at me NEIN!! I was desperate for food so I just asked her colleague and she found us a table outside but after the yelling I was ready to leave. Service ZERO.

Brilliant! The already good reviews speak for themselves! The food is fantastic and not that expensive by Munich standards. The beer is fresh and cold and the food is simply excellent. It seems possible to eat well in Munich without being a tourist rip-off!

Hidden gem in Lehel. Good Bavarian cuisine with one of the best Bavarian beers, Augustiner. By the way, recently with one of the best non-alcoholic beers ever!!! Extremely friendly service! Indoors or outdoors: cozy.

Everything was delicious. The portions were so big that I couldn't finish them. The tomato soup was delicious. However, the restaurant we came to for lunch had no air conditioning and was very hot.

Chinese Liebighof €76.60/4 people I ordered beer, grilled chicken, Angus steak in red wine sauce, white asparagus soup, and apricot crepe. They are all pretty good, and the interior of the store is very retro.

When I visit my children in Munich, one of the first places I go is the Liebighof. I like the casual atmosphere and the down-to-earth but varied menu.

Wonderful atmosphere and foods. Especially the portion of viennese schnitzel is so big for a person. Prices are normal for foods and Munich. Thanks to Victoria for her interest. I paid 28 euros for one glass wine and this schnitzel.

We're staying at a hotel down the street and decided to give this place a try. It far exceeded our expectations. It's an off the beaten path hidden gem chock full of locals and a grandmother you want to take home with you. We ordered the first special on the menu, the potato dish allgau style; it featured roasted chicken with cheese and potatoes. My sister and I split this meal and the waitress was kind enough to split it for us. One meal was more than enough for two people. The potatoes were perfectly roasted along with onions, mushrooms, and pancetta. The chicken was roasted to perfection and covered with cheese. The pan sauce was beautiful. The atmosphere inside is cozy and extremely clean. Outside was also very nice and delightful on a cool evening. The staff was accommodating of our English and very kind. Again, the photo is one meal split into two. We had a wonderful experience and wish we had this restaurant on our continent so we could visit more frequently!

What a fantastic place to get traditional bavarian cuisine, our server Victoria was lovely. She realised we have limited german, so she rushed to get an english menu also made our stay very warm and welcoming. This place is worth a try if your near the museum.

I have rarely seen such outrageous service in my life. A slow-walking customer (with a child) was asked to run faster because the two women were completely overwhelmed. The older, gray-haired waitress greeted us with an invitation to order rather than a greeting. At the next table the small child was asked to BE STILL. The list could go on and on, I'm really shocked where these positive reviews are coming from 😅 We were there once and were so happy when we were allowed to leave. Maximum unpleasant.

Kurzfristige Reservierung. Da das Wetter es zuließ, saßen wir im Freien. Das Lokal war aber auch innen gut gefüllt. Freundliche, flotte Bedienung. Wir wählten den Spargel mit Kartoffeln und Schinken bzw. das Rumpsteak mit Cognacsoße und Pommes und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr gute Küche zu zivilen Preisen. Dazu ein Weißbier. Gute Adresse für ein Abendessen!

Had a special salad and the crusty roast. Both absolutely delicious and fresh. The caraway on the roast was mega. Coleslaw is also great with diced bacon and something sweet.

Modern, clean decor, very attentive and friendly service and really good food. In addition to the classics of Alpine cuisine (Wiener Schnitzel, Kaiserschmarrn...), the menu also offers a few successful modifications or our own creations that are very successful (salads, fish plates...). We ended up there by chance and will come again!

Very nice environment. The dark wood counter is really impressive and the wall with the photographs is very scenic. Very friendly staff and speak perfect English, which makes interaction easy. Exquisite food with a vast offering that also includes vegetarian dishes. For each vegetarian dish they also serve a fresh salad with a really tasty dressing. Highly recommended from all points of view (even the clientele is truly select). Great prices!

This is an excellent, authentic Bavarian restaurant. They came prepared with full English menus, and the atmosphere was excellent. Ornate, spiraled wood adorned the restaurant, old jugs of tea leaves filled the shelves, and the checkerboard tablecloth enhanced the Bavarian feel. I enjoyed the beef broth, liver dumpling, chives, and carrot soup. The broth was tasty but not over-salted, and the dumpling was like bread but did not become soggy. For the main course, I had a pan-fried potato, pork, onion, lemon and compound butter dish. The breakfast sandwich with wheat bread, bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato, and tangy mayonnaise was my favorite dish. The bread was crispy (and maybe too hard) but soft on the inside. The egg was the perfect balance between cooked and runny. Overall, the flavors complimented each other and made for an excellent dish. Our server was friendly and kind who made for a no-pressure lunch experience. The staff even let us run to the bathroom before the restaurant opened! Everything was great, the food, the surroundings and especially the servers.

Unfortunately we had very bad experiences there. We were treated there in an impossible way. Given the cheap prices there, you don't expect exemplary service, but the lady with the gray hair in particular is more than rude when you ask for a table. In my opinion, the store is doing too well, it's the only way you can keep a place this size with these prices. Farewell to foreign running tourists and the civil servants' lunch. It's a shame to have such rude service staff. The toilets were clean...

Very tasty food, a MUST in Munich

Affordable, quality food, good service. We were lucky to get a seat without a reservation, so be sure to reserve if you want to go between 12-15. Servers were kind and spoke english. We had two types of potato dishes, one with steak and eggs, the other with champignon sauce and chicken. Both were tasty. Total was around 50 euros with 2 drinks and without tip.

Nice restaurant, very friendly service (as long as you understand it), unfortunately not good food (the burger, for example, comes with a ready-made patty, a dry bun and limp fries, the mushroom pasta for lunch was tasteless). A pity!
