The food is very good, but the portions are a bit small. The service can seem a bit harsh for non-Germans, but it has a humorous undertone. The atmosphere is pleasant.

Food was nice although I wish we got what we ordered. When it came out we stated we ordered the schnitzel but a veal scallapini came out instead. We still enjoyed it but would’ve enjoyed a schnitzel more. Older waitress speaks little English so hard at times to talk

The older waitress was very unfriendly and not up for a joke. When I asked for the bill in Spanish, the response was, "Speak German." They also didn't ask if I wanted to pay in cash or by card. Or whether I wanted to pay together or individually.

Very nice typical German place to eat. Friendly staff and nice service. We had lunch there and had a very nice meal. Nice plate suggestions. Busy for both lunch and dinner so reservations are recommended.

Nice, fast service and a cozy atmosphere, but the food was a disaster. The schnitzel was cooked in old fat and not pounded. Some of the fried potatoes were so burnt and hard—and I'm not lying—that one flew off my plate when I tried to skewer it.

A typical Bavarian Augustiner inn, as you'd expect. A reasonably priced lunch menu, otherwise a menu with the usual classics of hearty cuisine to fill you up. Dark wood, lots of decorations, depending on the season (Wiesn and Christmas season). Very attentive and fast service, sometimes a bit on the charmingly brusque side. Quite large outdoor area with a beer garden in the summer months. Reservations strongly recommended. Overall, good, with room for improvement in the kitchen and the menu, which doesn't change much. Furthermore, there are again significant price increases of over 10% compared to last year for the 2025 season tickets, e.g., asparagus + ham €34.80 or asparagus + small veal schnitzel €41.80. That's quite a gamble for what's on offer.

We visited the establishment on Sunday evening, there was a free table. The menu is traditional, but there is also a daily menu (various Italian and German dishes). In general, it was tasty, but as a foreigner, it was difficult to choose exactly what to order because there are no photos of the dishes and we had no idea what the dish looks like. It was delicious and the prices correspond to the portions and dishes.

The food and quality is sometimes very variable. Sometimes the meat comes to the plate completely dry and the other time it is perfect again. Service is TOP and beer too. Another point of criticism is that you don't get an answer to reservation requests.

Best Kaiserschmarrn I've ever eaten. Very polite and attentive service. I can't say anything about the interior since I only sat outside. Definitely a very successful evening.

Wonderfully quiet place where you can sit both inside and outside. The food was very good and plentiful and the prices were very good value for money. What should be highlighted is the daily menu at a very good price. Service was friendly, pleasant and very efficient. Parking is a bit more difficult in the zone, but there is a good connection with the U5. You have to make a reservation.

We also became aware of the restaurant through Kabel Eins. Our subsequent visit actually proved worthwhile. Cozy, rustic atmosphere. It was quite cramped, but there were so many lovely and nice guests present that it didn't bother us and we made arrangements. Service was very quick and friendly despite the stress. And the food (especially the apple pancakes 😍) was just great 👍. Huge portions, reasonable prices.

Cheaper than in the city, nice atmosphere, you can also sit well outside. The Kaiserschmarrn was delicious, the beer was well tapped. We would stop there again if we are in Munich.

Ich war während einer Dienstreise abends alleine in München unterwegs und da ich vor vielen Jahren schon mal im Liebighof war und nun hier vorbeikam bin ich gleich wieder eingekehrt, bzw. ich hatte bei dem schönen Wetter draußen einen kleinen Tisch für mich bekommen. Zunächst einmal wurde mir ein frisches Helles gebracht welches mit 4,30 Euro preislich recht günstig war. Da heute Dienstag war gab es hier im Liebighof das Angebot mit einem Hamburger, Pommes + Saucen für 12,90 Euro. Das war nicht nur unschlagbar, sondern hat auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Da es auch an anderen Wochentagen gute Angebote gibt kann ich den Liebighof wirklich empfehlen.

In my opinion, the restaurant is a real insider tip in downtown Munich. Good Bavarian food at reasonable prices, nice rustic atmosphere and Augustiner beer under 5 euros. The Augustiner is also alcohol-free and has no 🍺😉limitation. Unreserved recommendation for both locals and tourists.

I was there last week and had a great experience at bavaria food and dessert. You should reserve a table in advance because the restaurant is always very full.

I became aware of the "Liebighof" through the Kabel1 TV show "Achtung Kontrolle." The reporter/chef discovered the best roast beef with onions in Munich here; this had to be confirmed. Seven of us were there for dinner on March 4, 2025. The cozy, somewhat over-decorated ambiance and beautiful pictures create a homey atmosphere. The restaurant was already very busy at 6 p.m., so reservations are essential. However, this is only possible by phone or email. The service was prompt and very knowledgeable about the menu, but was too quiet for me. Six people ate the roast beef with onions and fried potatoes for €29.90 / approx. 200 g. Everyone loved it! Review: Emails are not responded to. And the menu is unviewable with some browsers, and the menu doesn't include the usual weight of the steaks/roast beef with onions.

First of all, it must be emphasized very clearly: the food was fantastic! The beer (€4.30/0.5L) was also great. 1 star unfortunately because of a very unsympathetic and stressed waitress. I was eating with my girlfriend and while we were waiting for the food we wanted to pass the time with something Mau-Mau. Until the older waitress told us as we walked past that no card games were allowed to be played. At first I thought it was a joke since it wasn't a game of chance, but she was serious and we respectfully packed up the cards. We got the bill, paid and left the Liebighof. Outside we noticed that the waitress made a mistake and we paid €10 too little. As honest as we are, we went back to the restaurant and wanted to pay the missing amount. Given the chance, my friend wanted to tell the waitress in a very nice and friendly way that the food was great, but the service could have been a little friendlier (waitress sometimes rolled her eyes, etc.). The waitress then said that it was all too much for her. She peppered our remaining money into my hand and didn't accept her tip. Unbelievable😂 If the owner reads this, they can say a little word to the waitress about hospitality (including towards tourists).

I had the good fortune to spend a few days in Munich, and through my walks I wanted to find a neighborhood restaurant away from the tourist spots. This was the best meal I had in town.

It's really quaint, cozy and delicious. It's also easy to finance.

Two weeks ago I reserved a table for two and today they assigned me a table that they would give even without a reservation. in the middle of the room, in a very uncomfortable area for eating and talking. I was very disappointed.

We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle and found this fantastic inn. The beer was fairly priced, the food was extremely tasty and the portions were generous. I will remember it for my next visit to Munich.

Wir sind sehr enttäuscht worden und kamen aufgrund einer guten TV-Bewertung. Klar, wenn sich das Team vorher ankündigt, wird sich angestrengt. Für uns nie wieder.

La location era accogliente, il personale gentile e premuroso e il cibo veramente squisito. Durante il nostro soggiorno a Monaco ci siamo stati 2 volte e ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

One of our favorite smaller pubs in Munich. This is where the neighborhood comes together and you rarely find tourists (if you do, then in the summer). The food has always been great so far and the seasonal menu means there is always variety in the dishes. The ambience is rather rustic with dark furnishings and lots of wood, but with Bavarian cosiness. It is vaguely reminiscent of a British pub. During the Christmas season there is extensive decoration here and a special eye-catcher are the Christmas trees hanging from the ceiling. In summer you can enjoy the evening sun in the Schanigarten.

The dark, Christmas-decorated restaurant is well attended. The menu offers traditional Bavarian cuisine, main courses range between 17 and 30 euros. The fast, friendly service still finds a place for the hungry individual guest. I choose the "Advent plate (smoked salmon with cream horseradish, shrimp cocktail, graved salmon with dill mustard sauce, scampi skewer, salmon sterine with cream cheese, plus 2 pieces of ricer datschi)" from the daily menu. As a layman, I can hardly tell the difference between the two types of salmon, but they are fresh and the sauces are delicious. Of course, this quality has its price. Das dunkel eingerichtete, weihnachtlich dekorierte Lokal ist gut besucht. Die Karte bietet traditionell bayrische Küche, Hauptgerichte liegen zwischen 17 und 30 Euro. Der schnelle, freundliche Service findet noch einen Platz für den hungrigen Einzelgast. Ich entscheide mich für den "Adventsteller (Räucherlachs mit Sahnemeerrettich, Krabbencocktail, Graved Lachs mit Dillsenfsauce, Scampispieß, Lachsterine mit Frischkäse, dazu 2 Stück Reiberdatschi)" von der Tageskarte. Die beiden Lachssorten kann ich als Laie kaum unterscheiden, aber sie sind frisch, und die Saucen sind köstlich. Diese Qualität hat natürlich ihren Preis. Last night I reserved a table for 3 people for lunch at 1 p.m. After hearing nothing (or anything to the contrary), I called again this morning and answered the answering machine! But apparently the restaurant no longer needs to react in any way!

Great inn, just as you could wish for. Away from the tourist crowds, the Liebighof impresses us every year with great seasonal dishes and (especially during the Christmas season) with outstanding decoration. Service very attentive, food good to very good, ambience simply outstanding. Our absolute No. 1 in Lehel!

Fantastic cosy little place just off the center marketplace. The food was a amazing. even the Blockhouse steak was well priced and nicely prepared. The Schnitzel was awesome as was the burger. The place has outside seating but in winter i suggest booking as space is limited. Overall well worth the money and visit.

I bit into a piece of bacon in the “vegetarian potato pan” and the fried egg was cold. When I complained (which was presented in a friendly manner), the waitress simply said: "I'm sorry, there shouldn't be any bacon in there." There was no substitute, not even the offer of an espresso on the house or something similar. Just shabby.

Even if the prices are not cheap, the decoration in the restaurant is just great. And service as well as food and drink are also very good.

Schrecklich unfreundlich! Die blonde Damme an der Theke fragt uns um etwas Geduld als wir rein kamen. Wir waren 3 Erwachsene mit 3 Kindern .Wir sind zuerst 2 Erwachsene rein gegangen, eine kanmm mit dem Kindern hinterher. Als die Frau die Kindern gesehen hat, hat mit dem Augen gerollt und uns direkt gesagt, Sie hätte keinen Tisch. Alles wäre ausgebucht, obwohl genug Tische frei waren und wir um die 15 Uhr Sonntag da waren. Aber das schlimmste war so abgewiesen zu werden als sSie die Kindern gesehen hat. Draußen war kalt, wir waren eingefroren und hatte Hunger. Breit und weit war auch kein Lokal geöffnet. Unfassbar wie herzlos die Besizer sind. Ihr solltet euch schämen!

While the food was good and the prices surprisingly fair for the location I was unable to really enjoy the time there. I think we got unlucky with the table across the bar and the atmosphere. I can definitely imagine it being a lot better in the right conditions but don't know if it would be something I would recommend. As much as I disliked my time there I wouldn't say it's a bad restaurant... probably worth a try if you are in the area.

Nos encantó este restaurante / bar tanto. Atractivo interior, gran ambiente concurrido y buena comida. Escondido en una calle tranquila, es inesperadamente ocupado cuando entras. De hecho - ahora que lo sabemos - le aconsejamos reservar un día o dos antes, ya que nos rechazaron en nuestra segunda visita. Estaba igual de lleno otras noches. ¡Si consigues una mesa, bien hecha! La camarera era muy agradable y nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos. ¿Única queja? ¡Que no había espacio para nosotros en el segundo intento!

mit sehr ansprechendem Ambiente war zur Mittagszeit voll besetzt; eine Reservierung sollte man daher vornehmen. Die sehr leckerere regionale Küche ist frisch gekocht und gut abgeschmeckt. Besonders den Hackbraten mit Bratkartoffeln in verschiedenen Ausführungen kann man lobend erwähnen. Auch die Apfelküchlein zum süßem Abschluss waren traumhaft. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und flink und die Preise sind moderat.

I travel 20 days in Europe and I must give my 2 thumbs up for this restaurant and the service staffs! Amazing service and amazing food! Fresh salad were served before my main course arrives! Beer is fresh as well! It is worth every euro spend here! Highly recommended! We had black angus steak and pork steak. I asked for medium rare for angus steak, its turns out to be exactly what i ask for. And the pork steak is fresh as well with abit of pinkish at the center... nicely cooked!

Good food, big portions! Very child-friendly and sensitive, from the choice of food for the little ones, to crayons, to a gift from the magic box. I have rarely seen such service, especially when it comes to child-friendliness!

Great traditional Bavarian restaurant

We made reservations with a group of 16 people. Since it was very warm, we were offered two large tables outside together, which we gladly accepted. Despite the large crowds (the outdoor area was almost completely occupied, a few tables inside were occupied), the service was very friendly, attentive and quick with the drinks and food. We didn't notice any of the "great unfriendliness" mentioned in some reviews. The food was good. As a couple we would eat there again.

Wir hatten mit einer Gruppe von 16 Leuten reserviert. Da es sehr warm warm, wurden uns zwei große zusammen stehende Tische im Außenbereich angeboten, die wir gerne annahmen. Der Service war trotz des großen Andrangs (der Außenbereich war fast komplett besetzt, im Innenbereich waren einige Tische besetzt) sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und zügig bei den Getränken und Speisen. Von der in einigen Bewertungen genannten "großen Unfreundlichkeit" haben wir nichts bemerkt. Das Essen war gut. Wir als Paar würden wieder dort essen.
