Awesome atmosphere not full of tourists. The staff are friendly and happy to give recommendations. They also speak English although most people who go here are locals.

Food was great. The condition was also very attentive. Unfortunately, a huge deduction because the tables outside are so close together that you are pressed chair to chair between the tables and there is no room for your legs. Purely pressed like in the Flixbus

Pappenheim Castle is long-established. There is good beer and fine food, with friendly, courteous service and a good Bavarian, slightly progressive touch. But it's not a star restaurant. but they don't have that claim either. The 5 stars are not absolute, but for what they do and so "the castle" is also one of Munich's cult restaurants.

The Pappenheim is simply wonderful!!! Typical Bavarian cuisine meets charming restaurant owners. It's definitely worth a visit and the food is very, very good. Unfortunately “only” 4 stars for service, as we would have loved to eat the famous Kaiserschmarrn - but the kitchen was already closed. It would have been great if the staff had informed us briefly and asked if we would like dessert before the kitchen closed :)

I went here unexpectedly, but overall the food was too salty. But it was delicious, and the staff were so friendly. I tried to order more food, but he stopped me when I told him that was enough. Maybe it's because I ate really bad schnitzel in Austria, but the schnitzel and potato dish was so delicious. I want to go again next time.

Restaurant located 10 minutes from the science museum and 15 minutes from the center of Munich (on foot) near a paid car park. Tasty and well-presented dishes. Young, friendly waiters who speak fluent English. Clean and quiet environment.

The food is quite expensive but it is very good and tasty. When the place is full inside it is overwhelming and way too loud. Outside the atmosphere is nicer. One dinner plus two drinks with tip was 40€. It's nice but wouldn't be my favourite spot.

Rustic inn with a great ambience and very warm hospitality. Hearty Schmeggerwöhlerchens and delicious drinks. The word hospitality is written here, BIG. Munich is always worth a trip, we felt very comfortable here.

A really nice Bavarian style diner, the roasted pork with potato dumplings and dark beer sauce was cooked to perfection, my wife had the chicken salad and was also really happy. Refreshing to see the owner work the tables and talk to clients with his thick Bavarian accent. Service was really competent and friendly, prices are fair for München.

It is a non-touristy, warm place, the food is delicious and the draft beer is very fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful. If we come to Munich again, we will definitely come back!

I recently dined at this Bavarian restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. The staff are not only friendly, but also very efficient, ensuring prompt service without compromising the quality of the dishes. The warm welcome adds a special touch to the dining experience. I highly recommend this place for a delicious immersion in Bavarian cuisine.

If you plan to visit Munich and visit the famous beer halls in the Munich breweries, I suggest only drinking beer there and coming here for a beer and dinner. Food very good! The beer served is very fresh, and the staff greets you with a smile from the moment you enter. I will definitely visit again!

Not the usual place for tourists, frequented by the people of the neighborhood, it offers few but exceptional dishes: the dishes with pork, coming from a nearby farm, were exceptional! Melt in your mouth! Everything really great! Courteous and attentive service, authentic atmosphere! We were there 2 evenings in a row, a must try!

Kaiserschmarrn and snack plates were very tasty. Salad was also very fresh. Everything tasted perfect. Happy to come back for a schnitzel!

Yesterday I was at Pappenheim Castle, watching football. Eat was top. Salad with chanterelles a reasonable price.

We couldn't find a place at another restaurant and decided to go to this one... a pleasant surprise! Very friendly service, great and plentiful food. Atmosphere reminiscent of a tavern, simple but pleasant.

This house deserves the name GASThaus. Attentive service, great atmosphere and a host with heart and soul. The food tasted excellent. If I'm in Munich again, I'll be happy to visit this inn again.

We're just there for dinner and what can I say? Great portions (I'm a very good eater), almost impossible to eat, great cozy atmosphere and taste bomb. (Had the Cordon Bleu). Operation like The Flash 👍👍👍 If I (we) are in the area again, a must visit. Keep it up.

Best pub in Munich. Always well attended in our neighborhood. Not without reason. The restaurant is nicely decorated. You can sit both inside and outside. The service is very attentive, even though the store is always busy. It is advisable to reserve in advance. The food is hearty Bavarian and the beer is always freshly tapped. A recommendation is the Cordon Bleu. The Wiener Schnitzel is also excellent. The Kaiserschmarrn is probably the best in Munich. We enjoy coming here and will be back soon.

The food is very tasty and the portions are generous. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The ambience inside is nice and rustic. There is enough space on the terrace for a group (8 people).

It's ok, service is great, in my opinion, a little overpriced for the location. A big drawback is that the place doesn't have a children's menu and you can fall on your face if you're not careful. Example: Kinderschitzel. That does not exist; There is the small schnitzel plus fries for 17.95 and is significantly smaller than a normal portion of schnitzel and fries for 19.95, which is completely sufficient for 2 kids aged 6-10, given the quantity here. So, a little tip: order a normal portion and get an extra plate - that's what my colleagues like to do.

Typical food from the Bavarian breweries of Munich. Courteous and helpful staff (there were 12 of us) shame I wasn't able to taste the dessert.

Since we finished eating we felt pressured to leave, with the waiters constantly asking if we wanted more drinks. When the time came to pay, the owner (I believe) came to rush us to get up. Someone from the group was feeling unwell, and he even made a comment about her sleeping. I write it in English for foreigners to also read this, since apparently Germans are fine with this rude treatment. Food was average and expensive for what it was, I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here.

Very friendly and approachable waiters, shame about the food however, we order 2 different dishes of wiener shnitzel, one made from pork and one from veal, costing €19 and €29 respectively, but clearly they were both made from pork, the chips were better than those of the mc donald. finally the dessert (strudel) was raw covered by 1 kg of cream. 60 euros for 2 cutlets and a strudel seems like a joke to me.

great restaurant with a great team and good food We were spontaneously able to get a table for ten people in the restaurant. We were served very nicely and the food was the best I ate in my three days in Munich. I don't have to say anything else about the beer. Wonderful… But the icing on the cake is the charm and friendliness of the service staff and the boss. When I asked, he even gave me a great wooden beer mat holder. All in all 6 stars. 😀

We were lucky that we were able to visit the restaurant (without registration) thanks to the waiter, who seated us at a table reserved for a later hour.. The restaurant is popular among the locals and even around 5 pm it was almost full... We had a beer (one of the best in Munich) and we tried an appetizer platter...I would visit again.... It's a bit noisy (there are always big companies)..but that's how Bavarians have fun 😉🍻☺️

Nice restaurant with nice young staff. Cheese sparrows weren't that good, just cream cheese - no contrast with solid cheese. Salad is no longer fresh either. My husband's snack board was excellent.

Food and beer are good but very expensive. For grilled sausages with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, 20 euros is ambitious! Also totally overcrowded, double reservations, which means you have to eat quickly because then the second reservation will come and you will be evicted. Actually a nice pub, but someone really wants to make maximum money. A pity

As a local, he knew the inn and had reserved a table for us for the Wednesday before Easter. Which is really necessary if you want to stop there during prime time. We had a really good evening there. Because of the weather we stayed there...which was both a blessing and a curse 😵‍💫 😅 Beer —> self-explanatory Food —> solid and tasty Service —> outstanding 👉 Clear recommendation!

Our visit to the Burg Pappenheim restaurant was simply fantastic! We were completely impressed by this quaint Bavarian restaurant with classic dishes and lager beer on tap. The portions were large and very tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the charming and helpful service, who warmly greeted us right at the entrance. We immediately felt at home. The dark beer on tap is really highly recommended. Despite not having a reservation, we got a table straight away. We can only agree with the good reviews and are happy to have found the restaurant. An unforgettable experience - we would love to come back!

The best Wiener Schnitzel I have ever eaten. Great service (fast & attentive), unfortunately we were only allowed to stay for 2 hours before the table was reassigned. We were with 10 people. there and everyone was very happy with the food.

Unfortunately not suitable for vegans: the waiter had no idea, asked, but was then told that there were only fries or a vegan salad. Then the information came that the soup was vegan. So I ordered soup and salad. However, the salad that came then had a dressing with honey on it! And finally: of course there is no plant milk for a cappuccino! I suspect that every other restaurant in the area is better suited to vegans.

It was our preferred place for schnitzel, and we absolutely loved it. The portions were huge, and you should definitely go for the potato salad alongside the schnitzel, it’s really well done. We chose the Augustiner light beer, and it was fantastic. This might be why Germans drink beer like water. Thank you!
