Of everything I tried in Munich, this was the best in terms of cuisine. A dynamic place, good service, and they're open until late. Reservations are only required for large groups.

Good, solid food, well-kept beers, and attentive service. The prices are still reasonable for me—Munich standards, that is.

The Käsespätzle and Potatoes Soup were delicious. Service was fast and very helpful. The atmosphere is quite lively. If you want a lively crowd come here. Make reservations!!

The music was so loud, that we couldn't hear ourselves... Really a shame...

The Nuremberg sausage was awesome! The beer was excellent, the Nödel was tasty, the spetzle mit Käse was good too!

Although the food was decent and the atmosphere great, I left feeling somewhat disappointed, or even slightly misled. We reserved a table for 8:00 PM with the sole intention of trying the draft Augustiner from the wooden barrel, which the establishment advertises as being tapped at 7:30 PM. Despite being seated by 7:45 PM, we were told upon ordering that the draft beer from the wooden barrel was already gone... To me, that sounds like a classic bait-and-switch."

Delicious food at fair prices. It often gets noisy inside, but the service is friendly.

I go here often; the food at Burg Pappenheim is very good, the owner is very friendly, and the service is excellent. Unfortunately, the roast pork was unavailable for the second time in a row (in the early afternoon). And since I go to the restaurant specifically for that, I won't be coming here next time. There are other good Bavarian restaurants in Munich.

Despite it being Oktoberfest peak season, and the fact that we arrived in Munich very late and obviously didn't have a reservation, they managed to get us a seat and delicious food. There were only five people waiting, but everyone was still served super quickly. The food was excellent!

We were with a group of eight people at Burg Papenburg in Munich. Thanks to our hotel (Haus im Tal), which booked us a table at short notice, we were able to spend the evening there. The food was very good, and the menu offered a wide selection. The only minor disappointment was that ham hocks were unfortunately not on the menu, which disappointed some colleagues. Overall, though, it was a successful evening – highly recommended.

We dropped in spontaneously and got a table right away. Our orders were taken promptly, and the excellent Käsespätzle I ordered were ready so quickly that I hadn't even finished the accompanying salad. :) For dessert, we shared a Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) – I couldn't have finished it. While the dishes are a bit on the expensive side, I think they're quite appropriate for the quality and the times we live in, with the exception of the Kaiserschmarren. At €18, it was just as expensive as the Käsespätzle, which isn't exactly what I need for dessert. All in all, though, a very enjoyable visit and definitely worth recommending!

Never before have I experienced being kicked out of the table by the waiter/owner as soon as dessert was finished because new customers had arrived. They had to finish their beer at the bar. It's absolutely insane how they treat customers. The food was okay.

Very tasty schnitzel! A very popular and therefore very busy restaurant. Despite a long wait, we still managed to get a seat for our reservation. The atmosphere is classic, with a high noise level. The food and drink selection is excellent and very tasty.

A very quaint and lively inn. Here, people laugh loudly and enjoy themselves, and the service is prompt and very personal. This isn't one of your typical tourist traps, but a real inn.

Enjoyed a traditional German meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes were well-prepared and delicious, not rushed. Relatively small compared to the larger breweries, it has a much better atmosphere, and is off the beaten track. Highly recommended for Munich.

I came here on the recommendation of my physiotherapist. It's a wonderful inn with amazing food, a rustic atmosphere, and very friendly staff, with a fun and welcoming host. I'll be returning with my husband from the north of Munich.

Classic good value German food. Managed to get a table out the front which was nice. Food came out really quick! We ordered the Käsespätzle (noodles with cheese sauce) and rosy pork with potato dumplings. The food was amazing. Real traditional and most flavourful. The house serves Augustiner beer which was also delicious.

A nice, cozy restaurant. Prices are a bit higher than other places, but not by much. If you're in the area, you might want to stop by.

The food was very tasty, but a bit small, and for the price, there was no side salad. For €27.50, it wasn't filling either.

Augustiner beer was main choice but holzfasse sold out. You are not alowed to play card game with your children here. So choose not for refreshing moment with your family or friends when not allowed to entertain yourself.

Perfect place for everybody who is looking for authentic bavarian food and beer.

The taste was okay. Unfortunately, the food was only lukewarm. The portions were extremely small. For a €20 main course, you'd expect to be filling. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. There were only three mushrooms in the mushroom cream sauce.

I spontaneously went to this restaurant because the reviews were excellent, and I wasn't disappointed! A friendly welcome, a lovely table, and the food (Cordon Bleu) was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

A delightful beer garden restaurant offering a true Bavarian experience. The traditional, plentiful, and excellent dishes are served in a convivial atmosphere of noise, laughter, and friendship. The staff is courteous and professional, and prices are in line with the city average. Being centrally located, there's no real parking.

This is the epitome of a Munich tavern. Classic and traditional decor, excellent service, a fantastic menu, a truly delicious schnitzel, and Augustiner beer—what more could you want? ❤️

We ordered the Kaiserschmarrn dessert, which was so huge it could fit three people, but only two of us could finish it. It tasted good, but because it was so large, it got stale after a while. We ordered two Americanos to go with it, for a total of 25.90 euros, which I think is expensive.

The Kaiserschmarrn is delicious, and one serving is enough for two people. We ordered two Americanos to go with it. I should mention that it's a pricey place. We paid 25.90 for one Kaiserschmarrn and two coffees.

I've never eaten such delicious Kaiserschmarrn! Erik's service was also top-notch!

The hype surrounding this place is hard to understand. The food is expensive. The service is generally very good. But the owner is incredibly unfriendly. Never again!

Good food and friendly service, but unfortunately when the restaurant is full it's very loud and difficult to have a conversation.

The food here was outstanding and the fact that it was so close to our Airbnb made it super convenient to stop in here. Everything my wife and I had was delicious and the service was always superb even when the restaurant was extremely full! If you’re visiting Munich, I highly recommend you stop by here for a beer and some snacks!

I expected more. They were slow to bring us our food, even though there were six or seven tables (18 or 20 diners) occupied, out of 25 or 30. The food was average and, in my opinion, excessively expensive.

GBP treated my family of seven very well. Exactly what we were looking for: a solid traditional bavarian spot near the museum. Recommended.

We waited 25 minutes for two overly salty, small soups, each costing €10, and 45 minutes for a Obazda (traditional German sausage) and a main course. With water and a cappuccino, the whole thing cost just over €70! When we asked for a different bread (because ours tasted and looked like cheap Aldi bread), we were given two thick slices and the comment from the manager: "You don't like that bread; there's war and famine elsewhere in the world." My partner is from Ukraine; shame on you for having the nerve! We'll never go to such a bad restaurant again.

I don't even know where to begin: I've been going to Pappenheim Castle regularly for years, but as it happens, I haven't written a review yet. First of all, the atmosphere here is totally friendly and personal; Klaus and Erik run the restaurant really well. Despite full reservations, I've always managed to get a nice seat here, even at short notice, and the food has always been top-notch. Thank you very much, and here's to many more years.
