Great pub. I'll definitely be back. The schnitzel and cordon bleu are signature dishes and highly recommended. The service is always attentive and incredibly friendly. Highly recommended.

The restaurant looks small from the outside, but it's actually larger inside. The interior is neither tasteful nor authentic, nothing special, more focused on efficient use of space, which offers plenty of seating, but it's quite loud and cramped in the evening. The menu is relatively small, typical of a pub. The food itself, like the rest of the place, is nothing special. Schnitzel in burnt breadcrumbs with dry fries, not even a leaf of salad. The highlight was the glass, two-thirds full of beer foam, when I ordered a light beer. I paid €35 ​​for the Wiener Schnitzel and three light beers.

Klaus is a legend! He knows how to create a very special environment! Big recommendation to try ginger - shot and the Augustiner beer!

Upon entering the restaurant, you receive a warm welcome and excellent service. The team is incredibly well-coordinated, and the food is delicious. The Kaiserschmarrn, in particular, is always a highlight! For me personally, it's the best place to eat in Munich.

Deserves a full 5 stars. Although the owner gave away the last free table just before our arrival, and we had to wait a short 5-minute wait despite our reservation, he made sure we got the next available table as quickly as possible. (By the way, the owner's friendly, humorous, and hospitable nature deserves special mention!) The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. As Swabians, we weren't charged for the extra sauce. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect in a traditional brewery: lively. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Munich! Excellent value for money.

Gaststätte Burg Pappenheim has a very lovely and lively atmosphere. We had some excellent, authentic German food. The mac and cheese, sausages and schnitzels were all very tasty. The meat was high quality and perfectly cooked. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but they are absolutely justified because the food is delicious and well prepared. The waiters were extremely kind and always smiling, which made us feel truly welcome. A great place to enjoy traditional German cuisine in a warm and friendly setting.

Pretty good food and good beer. I had to take a couple stars off because they ask for tip when it's time to pay. It's predatory to do this to American tourists. It was a disgusting way to squeeze and pressure us for more money, and it left a bitter taste in our mouth after what was actually a nice meal. Did not hear them asking for a tip from the table next to us that had German customers. Very shameful.

The innkeeper is one of a kind; he goes out of his way to accommodate everyone and truly loves his work. Excellent service and good, traditional cuisine. We'll definitely be back! The four girls from Lake Constance.

We spontaneously decided to go there as a group of three. Despite the restaurant being full/fully booked, the owner found us a table. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. We'd love to come back again if we're ever in the area.

Highly recommended, very good traditional Bavarian food. The Zwiebelrostbraten mit Käsespätzle (ribeye steak with fried onions and a side of cheesy pasta) washed down with a good beer was spectacular.

The restaurant looked good, with a nice atmosphere and everything seemed clean. The decor made you feel welcome. However, you could have made better food at home. The fried potatoes were swimming in grease and slightly burnt. The steak (very sinewy) was burnt, the solianka was lukewarm, the duck was overcooked (probably kept warm too long), the red cabbage was stretched to the point of being almost tasteless, the sauce was wobbly as if it had been thickened with too much cornstarch, and the salad was a mixture of four different grated vegetables, garnished with a slice of beetroot from a jar. The service was friendly, but by the time the drinks arrived, you could have driven to a gas station and bought them there. The staff didn't pay enough attention to the guests. If you're looking for long waits and poor taste, this is the place for you.

Very delicious Bavarian food that is definitely popular among locals since it was very busy on a Sunday evening. Therefore I would recommend making a reservation beforehand. Service was attentive, staff were very friendly, and food was incredibly delicious with very large portion sizes. I would definitely recommend stopping by!

A wonderful pre-Christmas surprise! We had duck last night. It was very well prepared. Otherwise, it's one of the best Augustiner pubs in town. No frills, lively atmosphere, and Augustiner on tap. You couldn't ask for more.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, particularly the waitress we had. She amazing and did everything with a smile. The food was just as good as the service! Would highly recommend this place to anyone, particularly anyone visiting Munich.

Despite asking if he could remember everything without a pen and paper, the owner took the wrong order. He then insisted we eat the wrong dish, claiming it was the same thing (cordon bleu with fries/schnitzel roll filled with Obatzda and fried potatoes). I listened to him until I realized it contained Obatzda, and while warm Obatzda isn't recommended, it's a matter of taste. I then said I'd prefer to have my original order. From that point on, the owner was furious, even though he was the one who messed up. His employees were so embarrassed; you could tell they were avoiding him. So, sorry for the people who have to work with this man, but as a customer, you can easily avoid him by simply not going to this place.

The food and portion sizes were good. Overall, it was very noisy. After ordering a main course and dessert within 10 minutes of each other, we were asked to leave by another waiter.

We had a cordon bleu and a roast beef with onions. Excellent food, haven't had such a good meal in a long time. A lovely Bavarian inn, and the very friendly host still visits his guests, just like he used to. High praise.

The friend chicken was delicious. Potato salad and sauerkraut were not our cup of tea. Fairly expensive for lunch and nothing special food-wise unfortunately. I’m gluten free and they recommended the sausage. It came with gravy so not sure if that was GF or not as they seemed a bit confused so I tried to avoid it.

A typical Munich pub in the heart of the Glockenbachviertel. Everything's just right here… The prices are, of course, in keeping with the neighborhood. But if you're looking for a Munich pub and are in the Glockenbachviertel, this is the place to be.

First of all: The food was a bit above average. Service: I've rarely experienced such competent service in Munich. Ambience: It's traditionally Bavarian, but when it's full, it gets extremely loud. What bothered me most, though, was when a Bavarian restaurant pretends to be authentic and then, for example, prohibits guests from playing Schafkopf (a game of German chess). Hence only 2 stars.

Of everything I tried in Munich, this was the best in terms of cuisine. A dynamic place, good service, and they're open until late. Reservations are only required for large groups.

Unfortunately, the menu says something different than what you get 😡 We ordered Viennese Bachhendl (a chicken with sausages) and Rostbratwurst (a sausage with roasted sausages). Both were not what we ordered. The Bachhändl (a chicken with sausages with roasted sausages) were breaded chicken breast fillets, unfortunately left in the fryer too long and therefore very dry – it definitely wasn't Backhendl (a chicken with roasted sausages with roasted sausages). The Rostbratwurst (a sausage with roasted sausages with roasted sausages) was a disgrace, sorry. It was a bratwurst, which tasted good (which is why I ordered it) – the second sausage was a fried Debreziner or something similar – and not a bratwurst. Summary: Fraud due to false information on the menu. A shame ☹️

Although the food was decent and the atmosphere great, I left feeling somewhat disappointed, or even slightly misled. We reserved a table for 8:00 PM with the sole intention of trying the draft Augustiner from the wooden barrel, which the establishment advertises as being tapped at 7:30 PM. Despite being seated by 7:45 PM, we were told upon ordering that the draft beer from the wooden barrel was already gone... To me, that sounds like a classic bait-and-switch."

I go here often; the food at Burg Pappenheim is very good, the owner is very friendly, and the service is excellent. Unfortunately, the roast pork was unavailable for the second time in a row (in the early afternoon). And since I go to the restaurant specifically for that, I won't be coming here next time. There are other good Bavarian restaurants in Munich.

Despite it being Oktoberfest peak season, and the fact that we arrived in Munich very late and obviously didn't have a reservation, they managed to get us a seat and delicious food. There were only five people waiting, but everyone was still served super quickly. The food was excellent!

We were with a group of eight people at Burg Papenburg in Munich. Thanks to our hotel (Haus im Tal), which booked us a table at short notice, we were able to spend the evening there. The food was very good, and the menu offered a wide selection. The only minor disappointment was that ham hocks were unfortunately not on the menu, which disappointed some colleagues. Overall, though, it was a successful evening – highly recommended.

Never before have I experienced being kicked out of the table by the waiter/owner as soon as dessert was finished because new customers had arrived. They had to finish their beer at the bar. It's absolutely insane how they treat customers. The food was okay.

We dropped in spontaneously and got a table right away. Our orders were taken promptly, and the excellent Käsespätzle I ordered were ready so quickly that I hadn't even finished the accompanying salad. :) For dessert, we shared a Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) – I couldn't have finished it. While the dishes are a bit on the expensive side, I think they're quite appropriate for the quality and the times we live in, with the exception of the Kaiserschmarren. At €18, it was just as expensive as the Käsespätzle, which isn't exactly what I need for dessert. All in all, though, a very enjoyable visit and definitely worth recommending!

Enjoyed a traditional German meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes were well-prepared and delicious, not rushed. Relatively small compared to the larger breweries, it has a much better atmosphere, and is off the beaten track. Highly recommended for Munich.

Augustiner beer was main choice but holzfasse sold out. You are not alowed to play card game with your children here. So choose not for refreshing moment with your family or friends when not allowed to entertain yourself.

The taste was okay. Unfortunately, the food was only lukewarm. The portions were extremely small. For a €20 main course, you'd expect to be filling. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. There were only three mushrooms in the mushroom cream sauce.

A delightful beer garden restaurant offering a true Bavarian experience. The traditional, plentiful, and excellent dishes are served in a convivial atmosphere of noise, laughter, and friendship. The staff is courteous and professional, and prices are in line with the city average. Being centrally located, there's no real parking.

We ordered the Kaiserschmarrn dessert, which was so huge it could fit three people, but only two of us could finish it. It tasted good, but because it was so large, it got stale after a while. We ordered two Americanos to go with it, for a total of 25.90 euros, which I think is expensive.

The Kaiserschmarrn is delicious, and one serving is enough for two people. We ordered two Americanos to go with it. I should mention that it's a pricey place. We paid 25.90 for one Kaiserschmarrn and two coffees.
