I expected more. They were slow to bring us our food, even though there were six or seven tables (18 or 20 diners) occupied, out of 25 or 30. The food was average and, in my opinion, excessively expensive.

GBP treated my family of seven very well. Exactly what we were looking for: a solid traditional bavarian spot near the museum. Recommended.

We waited 25 minutes for two overly salty, small soups, each costing €10, and 45 minutes for a Obazda (traditional German sausage) and a main course. With water and a cappuccino, the whole thing cost just over €70! When we asked for a different bread (because ours tasted and looked like cheap Aldi bread), we were given two thick slices and the comment from the manager: "You don't like that bread; there's war and famine elsewhere in the world." My partner is from Ukraine; shame on you for having the nerve! We'll never go to such a bad restaurant again.

Simon made us feel welcome and his service was excellent. Erik greeted us with a smile, and apparently doesn’t live in a broom closet behind the bar. Schnitzel was so good. Pils was medicine.

Very nice traditional Bavarian restaurant in the city centre. Staff is nice and friendly, food is great and came quickly. We went for lunch, when we arrived the place was fairly empty but also with more people the service was quick and good.

I don't even know where to begin: I've been going to Pappenheim Castle regularly for years, but as it happens, I haven't written a review yet. First of all, the atmosphere here is totally friendly and personal; Klaus and Erik run the restaurant really well. Despite full reservations, I've always managed to get a nice seat here, even at short notice, and the food has always been top-notch. Thank you very much, and here's to many more years. I went around noon to try the schnitzel after reading the reviews. I can say it was an average taste.

This is exactly what a Munich pub should be like. It's not without reason that Pappenheim Castle is always very busy. The friendly hosts do everything they can to ensure that every guest has a special place. The well-kept Augustiner beer from a wooden barrel is a sensation. The food is always very good, and the portions are generous.

I experienced very good and friendly service and wonderful food.

Scammed us out of an additional 10 euros by charging for two liters of high-end sparkling water when we asked for two glasses of ice water. Food was very salty.

Very strange interaction with the server after we released a card game. He asked us to stop playing directly even though we weren't disturbing anyone. No explanation except "it's the establishment's rules" We quickly finished our beers and left, bad experience :(

There's nothing wrong with the inn, but I won't go there often anymore because I have to leave after two hours. Then I'd rather go to a tavern where I can talk longer. I only know that from high-priced restaurants. I was not amused!

We stayed at hotel isartor down the street and they recommended this restaurant. We walked in without a reservation early afternoon and were promptly taken care of. Literally our best meal in Germany to date. The schnitzel and fries are amazing!! My only regret is not coming to here twice in my trip. You will not regret!

We had great Bavarian food and very good beer here. The service was also top. We were recommended the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert and I would like to pass on this recommendation here. We were very satisfied and ate in the restaurant a second time during our stay in Munich because we liked it so much.

Nice little restaurant with good home cooking at a fair price! I drank a cola and ate a cordon bleu with fries and salad for €36! This is perfectly fine for Munich city center! The service was friendly and the host himself was also very good! I was there at lunchtime without a reservation but it wasn't a problem. But in the evening I would definitely make a reservation!! Thank you keep it up! Repeat factor 100%

Traditional restaurant with Augustiner bar, what can you say, go there and try it out, been there several times and was not disappointed, unfortunately always very well attended and correspondingly loud, definitely make a reservation.

By far the worst veal schnitzel I've ever eaten. The meat was thinner than the breading, and it was extremely salty, both the fries and the schnitzel. The cream sauce wasn't really a sauce, but more like milk.

Authentic, small menu, large portions, fast service, but that has its price! Anyone expecting cheap dishes here will be disappointed. Soups €9, salads €19, main course from €25, Kaiserschmarren €18. The guests don't seem to mind, the place is full. Therefore very loud, nothing comfortable. If you don't order something immediately, you will be offered an invoice. It was nothing for us.

My favorite shop in Munich. Ambiance and service is great. Locals seem to come often and are sometimes greeted politely by name. Price, performance is top. When I visit Munich it is my number 1. By far the best Kaiserschmarrn in Munich is here. 😎👍

One of the few restaurants in Munich where both the food and the service are very good. It's not cheap but in my opinion it's very good value for money. The schnitzel is excellent and you can tell that the meat is of really good quality. Unfortunately, this is becoming increasingly rare in Munich. That's why I'm very happy that this restaurant exists. Keep it up!

Stop by and feel good! It's always a matter of taste... not here! Great ambience, centrally located, great staff, delicious food and unadulterated fantastic beer! The only negative point is that if there is no space available, you have to wait at the counter and have a beer! ;-)

We were there by chance in December and were so excited about the Cordon Bleu that we told everyone about it, whether they wanted to hear it or not. Last week we drove from Nuremberg to Munich to eat the cordon bleu again. It's a revelation. The service is super nice and really quick. Beer and food great. We look forward to your next visit!

Typical Bavarian restaurant with the usual cuisine. Currywurst with fries was expensive but tasty. Service super quick and attentive. When the second beer tasted stale, we immediately got a replacement. Atmosphere typically Bavarian: loud and happy.

We were in the castle very often, but if you, as a regular guest, are complimented after an hour and a quarter of a turnover of €240 because "guests are waiting for the table" without saying when making the reservation that you can only stay for 2 hours, then that's it unprofessional. On our last visit there were two of us, we had reserved, but we waited almost half an hour for our table and were then squeezed in somewhere. Our drink, which we drank while standing beforehand, was not on the house as an excuse for the wait. And on the last visit, the four of us were in an almost empty pub in the afternoon, drank a coffee and a beer or Prosecco, but didn't eat anything, which the landlord responded with extremely arrogant grumpiness. As for the food: too much convenience food at too high prices. Unfortunately that's it. 5 regular guests less.

Portions are large, food is delicious. Knödel, rinderrouladen, kaiserschmarrn fresh and made from good ingredients. It can get crowded, so it's best to make a reservation.

We wanted to try the typical Bavarian schnitzel and we were not disappointed! Friendly and punctual service, fortunately they had menus in English. Delicious and rich cutlets, we left very full! Advised!
