Fast service, authentic traditional food,

was here yesterday for the first time and that will also be the last time. Why I'm writing here at 2:45 at night is because I can't sleep due to stomach pain and nausea. I was anything but enthusiastic about the food, I had the grilled sausages, on the one hand I would have expected a little more for the price than 2 sausages with a dollop of mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, on the other hand I was probably happy that it wasn't too much, Who knows what would have happened to me otherwise tonight. One sausage was okay, the other was lukewarm and tasted a bit strange and I think that this one in particular caused my problems tonight. But you can't say it 100% either. Otherwise the service was very nice and also very quick. I have mixed feelings about the atmosphere. It was extremely loud, you almost had to scream to be able to have a conversation at the table.

Fantastic local German restaurant, packed with people, food servings were huge but delicious and reasonably priced. We booked which was lucky as we would never have got a seat otherwise.

I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. Can't explain to me why the prices here are a good 20 percent higher than in most other Bavarian inns in Munich. Because the ambience, the location, the food itself are not worth it for the high price. 23 euros for a pork schnitzel with potatoes... Plus a boss who is anything but friendly and pleasant. Just as described in the other reviews, we were all asked to leave while the glasses were still full because the table had to be cleared for others. Then please don't give people any more beer! Luckily the colleagues outside the door were allowed to continue drinking it in the cold...

Very tasty typical German cuisine. The restaurant itself also has the same atmosphere. It was noisy because of the crowds. Don't forget to have dessert. It was really incredibly tasty.

There were five of us there and when you look at the other reviews you wonder if we just had a bad day - but for all five people? It wasn't the table service, the lady was very attentive and accommodating. But otherwise the price-performance simply did not correspond to the self-imposed standards: - Fruit juice spritzers, so diluted that they were more like sprayed table water - Portions that were by no means “extraordinarily large” but at best (!) average (although in principle we are not concerned with quantity but with quality) - Also average in terms of taste and preparation - And what was most striking: except for the soups, all the dishes were too cold. Our request to warm up was granted by the alleged boss, but not with regret but with noticeable anger. This really puts the quaint tavern atmosphere into perspective. Unfortunately, we didn't take any "proof photos of the plates" of our presence, which unfortunately made the necessary warm-up a bit difficult. All in all, definitely not a recommendation, there really is better.

Six of us spontaneously went to Pappenheim Castle for lunch - two children, four adults - and were greeted very friendly on the phone. When we arrived on site, we were even offered the regulars' table, even though it was our first visit. This shows the warm and informal atmosphere of this classic Bavarian inn, which unfortunately you don't find that often in Munich anymore. We would particularly like to mention the host Klaus, who immediately created a feel-good atmosphere with his warmth and friendly manner. He recommended the duck, which came fresh from the oven and was really excellent - crispy, perfectly cooked, with excellent sides such as red cabbage and dumplings. Three out of four adults chose this recommendation and were completely thrilled. The other dishes were also first class: the children had schnitzels that were wonderfully tender and crispy, and the cheese spaetzle was also excellent. The beer was wonderfully refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. At the end we treated ourselves to the Kaiserschmarrn as a dessert, which was served with two delicious side dishes as a sauce and was enjoyed by everyone. A crowning conclusion to a perfect lunch. As a special highlight, our two children each received a chocolate Santa Claus, a wonderful gesture that shows how much attention is paid to the guests here. Our friends from London were equally enthusiastic and highly praised Klaus' atmosphere and hospitality. We would like to thank you for a really lovely afternoon and the remarkable hospitality. We will definitely come back and can only recommend Burg Pappenheim to anyone who is looking for a cozy, traditional and warm inn. ❤️

The food is ok, if you really want some food to eat. The choice of dish is very limited. There are more choices around. The service is really bad. Overall dinning experience is very bad, not recommended to eat. You can find other restaurants that give you better experience.

The Burg Pappenheim restaurant is simply a hit for Bavarian cuisine in Munich! If you like hearty classics, you'll get your money's worth here. The schnitzel rolls are a real highlight - once you've tried them, you simply can't go past them! Like a Cordon Bleu on a new level. The restaurant is packed, especially at peak times, which just shows how popular it is - so a reservation is really advisable. An authentic, warm Bavarian experience that you won't soon forget!

Noisy atmosphere, you can't have a conversation. If you just want to have a drink and are not here primarily to eat, you will be unpleasantly asked to move several times. Went straight back. Something like that doesn't work!

The Burg Pappenheim restaurant is a wonderful place to spend cozy hours in an authentic Bavarian atmosphere. The food is excellent – ​​a wide selection of hearty classics, freshly and deliciously prepared. The snack in particular is a real highlight that goes well with the rustic ambience. The staff is friendly and attentive, so you feel completely at home here.

Pretty sure they buy reviews, otherwise I can't understand why anyone would give a good rating to this place. It'a the worst german restaurant I've tried in Munich. The food is absurdly expensive and the quality is like at any other mediocre place. One dish was oversalted to the point that you couldn't eat it. The Schweinebratten has a soggy crust. Just a bad experience overall.

Collection order misunderstood and therefore 4 stars, no question! The atmosphere is always great and so it is always difficult to understand everything. The reaction? Mega. No discussion, there was 50% off for the extra waiting time. Oh yes, the real Wiener Schnitzel, the fried dumplings and the Schäufela are worth every cent.

I used to go there regularly and was a self-confessed fan. Unfortunately, the food is still getting more expensive and the taste has deteriorated a lot. For me the ratio is no longer right and I can no longer recommend the restaurant.

I discovered the restaurant years ago and always enjoy going there. Mainly because of the schnitzel roll ;) unfortunately the prices for it have risen a lot and it would be nice if you at least got a small side salad for it. The service is top and you can always have fun. You feel completely comfortable.

I broke my vegan diet for this place…twice. The schnitzel, sauerkraut, potato salad, bratwurst, beer and apple strudel were absolutely delicious! The service was friendly and welcoming. Worth while coming to Munch for this place alone!

We went to Pappenheim Castle for lunch today and were simply thrilled by the pleasant atmosphere, the above-average nice and great service and, last but not least, the fantastic food. The Viennese style schnitzel was buttery tender and the side salad was a poem. Really enjoyed our visit and would love to come back.

Had a good dinner there. Owner in a strong dialect in a good mood. Service is quick on the go. Fish (redfish) and fried potatoes (like Nuts) freshly prepared, nothing from the bag or the freezer. Kitchen was quick. Prices are still ok as long as everything is fresh... Beer fresh from the tap, delicious... You definitely can't go wrong here!

We were guests at Pappenheim Castle last night. Were greeted warmly by the boss. Every time we come to Munich, it is always a great experience to eat and drink in this rustic pub. The food is excellent. I ate the best Schäufele here in a long time. My wife had Cordon Blue and loved it. Plus an Augustinian, what more could you want. Friendly staff and no long waiting times Keep it up, we'll be back. It is advisable to reserve a table as there is a lot going on

Pappenheim Castle is long-established. There is good beer and fine food, with friendly, courteous service and a good Bavarian, slightly progressive touch. But it's not a star restaurant. but they don't have that claim either. The 5 stars are not absolute, but for what they do and so "the castle" is also one of Munich's cult restaurants.

The Pappenheim is simply wonderful!!! Typical Bavarian cuisine meets charming restaurant owners. It's definitely worth a visit and the food is very, very good. Unfortunately “only” 4 stars for service, as we would have loved to eat the famous Kaiserschmarrn - but the kitchen was already closed. It would have been great if the staff had informed us briefly and asked if we would like dessert before the kitchen closed :)

I went here unexpectedly, but overall the food was too salty. But it was delicious, and the staff were so friendly. I tried to order more food, but he stopped me when I told him that was enough. Maybe it's because I ate really bad schnitzel in Austria, but the schnitzel and potato dish was so delicious. I want to go again next time.

Restaurant located 10 minutes from the science museum and 15 minutes from the center of Munich (on foot) near a paid car park. Tasty and well-presented dishes. Young, friendly waiters who speak fluent English. Clean and quiet environment.

The food is quite expensive but it is very good and tasty. When the place is full inside it is overwhelming and way too loud. Outside the atmosphere is nicer. One dinner plus two drinks with tip was 40€. It's nice but wouldn't be my favourite spot.
